2 ♡ Stardew Valley: Male Characters

Alright, it's been a while since I wrote again. When I lost my last draft, I was so frustated and just stopped writing. But here I am again, now to talk about my love for this excellent, adorable game: Stardew Valley. There's so much to talk about this game, but I think that I'll start with something that caught me the most, the characters.

One of the things I definitely love most about this game is the characters. Maybe it's because I'm somewhat obsessed with otome games and dating sims. I've always enjoyed a little romance in games, and the fact that there are a bunch of marriageable characters with their own personalities and interests, while I can adventure and take care of my farm... it's all amazing.

You might be wondering, with so many options available, who I chose first to be my romantic partner? And I answer you with a little embarrassment, it was Alex...

♡ Alex ♡

But wait! I'm not saying he's bad. He's a good character just like the others, but I think I went for the most convenient option. He leaves home early and is always available to receive gifts, so it was easy to develop a romance with him.

Hmmmm, what to say about this? ....

Pretty heavy, huh? I mean, his backstory is quite intense. I know many don't see him in that light because he's a jock character. But if you delve into his story, it's pretty sad, and it's tough not to feel empathy. That explains a lot about why he is the way he is. While he's not my top pick among characters, I do recognize all of that and consider him a good person.

♡ Elliot ♡

Uuuhh what to say about Elliot? Elliot, Elliot, Elliot... what a man! He doesn't quite make it to the top of my favorite romantic partners list, but everything with him has been a great adventure. I like guys who are gentleman and romantic, not too much, but he brings all those vibes with a good balance. Not to mention he's a writer and plays the piano, is there anything better than that? I really like his story too, it's smooth yet strong like the waves of the sea. A relationship with Elliot is a relationship with a mature and understanding person; I really appreciate him and his long hair. He's charming!

♡ Harvey ♡

Now, simply Harvey! The doctor with the most elegant mustache in this game, how I love this character. He definitely ranks among my favorite characters, if not the top one. I know the game follows the calendar and seasons of the northern hemisphere, but it's fun to think that in the game context, we share the same birthday, since I celebrate on the 14th of winter in the southern hemisphere. Quite a nice fanfic, right? But what can we say about this guy who loves planes but is afraid of heights? I believe he's another underrated character; sure, many players like him, but I feel that some still don't see him as one of the most useful or interesting. However, after marrying him, it's so cute to see how he tries hard to adapt to this life and help in any way he can. And what about the 10-heart cutscene? SIMPLY SPECTACULAR, ADORABLE, WONDERFUL, it made me cry. I love you, Creuzinha Cock Cock.

♡ Shane ♡

Wow, Shane... I feel like for many, he's a love-it-or-hate-it kind of mix, or maybe just hate-it if you don't know him well enough. The truth is, even behind that rude and ill-mannered behavior, there was a guy who was suffering alone and pushing people away. Does that excuse being a jerk to others? Of course not, but once we get to know him, it's somewhat understandable. I quite like Shane; like Alex, he's a character easy to build a relationship with in the game. I prefer looking at the characters with sympathy; of course, we're not obliged to like everyone, but Stardew Valley is a game like that, somehow opening a little spot in your heart for everyone, even though it's so simple. So that's my verdict; to me, Shane is a great character. I don't say that because he's kind of a 'depressive drunk'; after all, he's a very cute guy who talks to chickens and quite pleasant. I hope those who think negatively of him can change their minds and see him in a different light, right?

♡ Sam ♡

Hmmm, Sam, yeah, I like him, but I'd say I like him on the same level as Alex. I'm not really drawn to that youthful vibe he gives off, both in looks and tastes, and so on. But his band is really cool, and he's also a great brother to Vincent. Maybe I liked him more one day, but tastes change over time, and that's that. Hehehe but what about that kissing scene of his? Very suspicious!

♡ Sebastian ♡

And now, the bombastic side eye moment!!! Sebastian, the infamous love-hate more loved than hated, the emo who captured the hearts of many women and guys out there, why? You wonder, I don't know ^^ But I also really like him, for a change. I think Sebastian is a major outbreak for everyone who plays; once you connect with him, every time you play again, you'll want to do it all over again, like he cast a spell or something. Of course, people like him are more attractive in fiction, but we shouldn't just judge people by their appearance. Sebastian is a great character, not fully understood by his parents, a bit sidelined compared to his sister, and that's something we can easily relate to, right? I really enjoy his dialogues at the festivals, it's like he and Sam are always up to something. In the end, we all have a soft spot for the mysterious emo who smokes and rides a motorcycle, why this phenomenon? Again, I don't know! We just have to accept it, and since we're talking about Stardew Valley, there's not much else to do. For a while, Sebastian was my favorite character to marry, but consider that I've been playing since I was 12 years old huhuhu.

And that's what I think about these guys; each has their own special charm, some I like more than others, but they're all definitely in my heart. There's still so much to talk about regarding the female characters. And many other things about the wonderful universe that is Stardew Valley. I'm happy to have written again; it's been a while, and I feel like I'm evolving little by little, even though it's tough. I hope one day I'll improve :)

Name/Pronouns: Kodiak—He/Him

Height: Chibi XL (this is his height vs. a tall person)

Personality:

At first, he's shy, timid, easily spooked. Quiet and always aware of what's going on around him.

Once he gets to know you? A goofball that you'll wish you never met. Loyal, happy-go-lucky. Too trusting for his own good. A creature of pride, he will try to impress anyone he considers a mentor or a teacher and will go to any lengths to accomplish this task.

When feeling hurt or wanting to get away from everyone, he'll go find something to distract himself with, dangerous or not (but mostly dangerous). He'll either go krill dodge, leap off of the citadel without opening his cape until the last possible second or go wade through polluted waters.

Backstory:

Instead of waking up in the Isle, Kodiak woke up in the middle of the Windpaths on one of the middle islands by the Forest entrance. Navigator found him and carried him back to the island, causing Kodiak to form a sort of parent/mentor attachment to him. (Navi didn't ask for this but eventually was happy as he had someone else to guide and teach how to fly).

He made his way through the realms from the Windpath entrances, everytime bringing back wax and little trinkets that he found to show the spirits (this always concerned the Spirit Guide, but Builder and Chimesmith loved it so she never said anything) as his way of speaking in love was gift giving. Navi gave him a smaller version of his cape and goggles as a celebration gift after Kodiak finished going through Wasteland for the first time (he dodged a krill doing it, astounding Navi in the process and making him proud).

Other Notes:

Originally being from the Windpaths, he has eartufts that grew as he got better with flight and has a pet bird named Hikaru- his first friend in the Windpaths (they met from Hikaru flying out of a pot and smacking him in the face knocking them both down) who lives in his nest of hair. He is horrible at sliding fast as he's more coordinated in the air than on the ground, not the best swimmer but not the worst either.

Kingdom: Not sure; most seem like they would interest him to a degree.

Scenario: Thankfully this is optional because *I have too many*.

Since no kingdom was added, I'm placing your skykid in a random kingdom. The kingdom I'll place your skykid in is: Oops! It seems the portal towards Lifeno malfunctioned! Your skykid has instead traveled towards: Faewild.

" 'Shoot' was the first thing Kodiak thought when he woke up. Maybe it was a bad idea trying to rapidly fly around home and accidentally fly into a portal.

And now he's....honestly Kodiak doesn't know where he is. This looks like Lifeno kingdom, but at the same time not? He did travel to each kingdom, but this one is certainly new. It's dark, but some strange bugs are glowing, lightning up the whole small forest. The mushrooms are huge and they could feel the light in the air.

This is not Lifeno kingdom. The forest does not have this much magic in the ground. Kodiak could feel the little gem in his chest beating.

Welp.

Guess it's best to start looking for his friends Most have probably by now entered the portal to look for him, so hopefully he might find them soon."

• Thanks to Kodiak's observant eye, they noticed the abundance of magic in this forest. More than what he was use to, it made him wary of where he was. Hikari started glowing brighter though, and is happily chirping away on Kodiaks' head.

• Continuing to travel through the forest, Kodiak found a small...village? The houses are in the trees and the lamps are lit, but there is no one in the streets (maybe because he's on the outskirts? He doesn't know.) The whole place reminds Kodiak of the assembly treehouse and the windpaths and wave of nostalgia reaches him, remembering his friends whom he dearly miss in the realms.

• "Oh? An ori child? Kodiak almost jumped out of his cape when a voice suddenly spoke. He turns around to find a fae staring down at him. They were carrying an umbrella, but it looked almost as if the stars and planets were swimming around it. It reminded him of orbit in a way.

• Realising he wasn't answering the fae, Kodiak sputtered out a greeting, timidly looking down at his feet. The fae stared blankly at him, before giving a smile and laughing softly. They kneeled down to his height.

• "It's quite an honour to meet your kind. Say, what do you say on joining me? There's a feast happening at the center of the village." Their voice is somehow soft and calm, like parent. Despite Hikari's wary tweets, a feast and a party does sound fun.

• Agreeing to the fae's request, they took Kodiak's hand and lead him to the center of the village. As they draw near the center, Kodiak could hear the cheerful music and the sounds of laughther. The feasts bright lights illuminating the night sky. Delicious food lined up on a long table while the fae dance and sing.

• As the fae's warmly welcomes Kodiak, his timid personality fades away and he soons enjoys the feast, often singing melodious songs using his rare ori child voice and telling tall tales of his adventures in the sky kingdom for the laughing fae. The fae gave him food and complimented his ear tufts, the colours impressing even high ranked fae.

• But as time went on, Kodiak started to grow more weary. How long has he been here? An hour? Two hours?

• The knawing feeling of disturbance rocked his chest. As he goes up to the fae, his small stature easily allowing him to walk under the table unnoticed, he heard the fae talking to someone else. "Who knew I would find an ori child wandering around the outskirts of our village? What luck!"

"Just imagine how much the court will pay us for a song. The Queen will be delighted to hear that an ori child tookr residence here. Did you hear how he can sing? It sounded like an angel!"

"Indeed. Although we need to keep him here. I might be able to offer him a home here, but we might need to get rid of that bird he has. They were quite the nuisance since they didn't let me go near enough to place the seal.

•.......huh?

• Hikari became restless. The feast's music became eerie, the laughter stinging Kodiaks' ears. Fear rocked in his chest, his heart beating on the sound of the drums. He needs to get out of here. NOW.

• Kodiak immediately sat down and meditated, not hesitating to return back home. He could care less if the fae hated him. He could care less if he can't return to this place. He did not want to become some walking and talking puppet for the fae.

• As he returned, he found his friends at home. All looked at him wide eyed before immediately hugging him, all of them worried out of their minds.

• Kodiak closed his eyes, happy to be back home

Additional headcannons

• Turns out that the feast Kodiak attended was manipulating time. What felt like hours had passed in the faewild, months had gone by in the real world. So he was a little distorted when he escaped.

• He has a severe distrust of fae, once mistaking an elf for a fae and accidentally be passive agressive towards them. He later became friends with them (somehow??)

• Some creatures native to the fae wild followed Kodiak the entire time he was traveling. Some birds even made friends with Hikari.

• Although his experience with the kingdom was mostly sour, the Faewilds iz probably the closest thing that is similar to the wind paths for Kodiak, so whenever he ends up in them, he avoids the fae villages and just vibes in the forest away from the fae.

HI, I don't know is my misjudgment or not, but I felt that yandere haikyuu boys have more love than the yander tokrev boys. Can I assume that most characters in tokrev (expect Kazutora lol) do not love the reader?

not necessarily. i'll be the first to admit that the last bonten fic was BLEAK but it is kind of hard to compare characters from both fandoms as a whole. for the most part i tend to write haikyuu fics in more or less the same universe it's set in. as in, yes the characters are darker but they're still volleyball players/uni students/people with regular jobs. on the other hand both times i've written for tokrev it's been in universe as well – and those characters have fucked up lives.

even if i change very little in regards to their characteristics, by the time the bonten gang is formed down that timeline mikey's all but gone off the rails, all the characters are established as ruthless killers – their base characters are just a lot darker and have a lot more baggage. can they still love the reader in the same obsessive way? sure. but just by nature of their backstories and what they've been through and who they become that 'love' is gonna come out in very different ways.

Will you write some fics which have yandere kenma in the future?

i'm not gonna say no... but not likely. or if i do it would be with kuroo because while i adore kenma to pieces he's not someone i'm super excited to write for solo

ok but who in bonten would be like the best/worst to be around from to the depths,, like based on my very limited knowledge i thought that kakucho would be maybe not as sadistic as some of the others but based on one of the other asks,,,

haha. hahahahahah oh dear sweet beloved anon. it's like asking if you would rather lose an eye or a hand. neither is a good option.

koko can be loving when he's not jealous. kakucho isn't as sadistic as the twins but that doesn't mean he won't fuck you till you bleed when he's pissed off about something. sanzu's a wild card and honestly you're never gonna be perfectly comfortable around him. the twins are... like that. and mikey is well, at this point basically unhinged so good luck with that one :)

I’m just thinking deranged Bonten!Mikey who gets his darling taken from him. It was a rival, someone who wanted to hurt him. Bad. You were locked in his penthouse while he and the executives went out for a meeting. Guards he trusted were left to watch you, members who had been in his gang since the early days. He was wrong to trust them. You weren’t there when he got back, neither were the guards. Mikey thought you had somehow escaped. He started to lose his shit, until he saw the message that was left behind. He eventually found you, him and the executives. Bloodied. Beaten to a pulp. About to be executed. Remember the deranged part? Yeah. They are gonna wish they never took you. The guards, no matter how big their bribe was to sell you out, there won’t be a place far enough for them that Mikey won’t find them.

mikey'd just go apeshit and literally beat them to death. he simply would :))

At this point even if they're not all Anonymous, they all get put in here for the sake of making it a single post. Most of them are Anons so I guess the name sticks? Either way, here's the questions- along with another bit of art by @athenwrench at the end (thank you for the art!)

First, a little segment of people who are happy to see Gaster getting completely destroyed.

"Pt gaster is pissed"

Pretty much, yeah. How unfortunate that Player had to pull a Jevil and go for chaos- since chaos is unpredictable. (Insert 'The World Revolving' here, alongside PT!Gaster screaming.)

"Peck you gaster lol"

Yup. Just a big peck neck right there. Bigger than DJ Grooves if I can say so- although the Conductor may disagree. And yes, I am a fan of A Hat In Time.

"Pfft 'slot face' perfect name for pt gaster lol" (This ask was delayed for a bit, so to whoever sent this, sorry I ended up missing it for so long.)

I mean, it's kinda a given. And also it makes him more akin to a bishop rather than a knight in terms of the shapes of chess pieces.

From the games? I'll have to be honest, that's a pretty good question. I kinda have a tie between a few of them.

Firstly there's good ol' Spamton G. Spamton. I really think he'd have been a nice character to know had we seen him before... well, whatever happened to him. But the strings that held him up, and yet dragged him down, made him someone else entirely. I kinda feel bad for the guy.

Then, we have Ralsei. Wholesome goat boi- need I say more? Though some people speculate there's more to him than that, I think that the reason he talks with Kris while we're watching the others is because of Kris being concerned about what we might do. They're insecure- they wanted to talk with Ralsei on his own, so that nobody else would know what might be going on. Perhaps there's more than just us controlling Kris- after all Kris is always asleep before doing... well, whatever happens at night during the games. And lastly, while Noelle is also very high on the list, the character who snags the third spot is...

Berdly.

Yes, I know. It's insane. But dammit I relate to the guy. Partially because of the stress put on him because he's seen as being so smart (though the reasons for my end are different), and partly because...

Well, let's just say I have probably well over 5k Pokémon TCG cards. If not more.

So yeah. I'm a bit of a geek in some ways myself.

...Oh yeah, KK is also a fun character. He actually would let us buy 400 bagels if we had the room in our inventory. Great guy.

Yes, that was in fact a chess pun. I wanted to do something creative with the ACT menu, and the moment I saw that the one consistent option was 'Check', I knew right then what I wanted to do. Because that one option is what is consistent throughout both Undertale and Deltarune- so the opportunity to make something unique from it was perfect. (And I mean, come on, with PT!Gaster, it was bound to make for a good scene. Especially with how much board game referencing he does... that made it so much better, throwing him off with the same thing he does.)

As for your question, Susie probably would have seen the scars, but the Player may not fully put the pieces together since they didn't see Gaster themselves- at least, not after his helmet broke. But during the next encounter, well... I can only give you a simple reply.

And now for the bit of art by @athenwrench... it may not be the best, but nobody is perfect right off the bat. And even after a while, nobody is perfect. So I'm still quite impressed regardless!

I definitely like the detail of how the slot in the helmet is still seen- although the question remains, how the heck does he see through it?! Does he have a camera on the outside and screens inside or something stupid like that? It's really kinda baffling.

But yeah, he definitely hasn't seen the sun for... what was it again? 66.5 years?

That's gotta be a lot of lost vitamin D. Stunned that they're still going- the bunker must've had supplies of the stuff.

Hopefully the next part of the story won't take nearly as long- though I can't say that it'll be out this month, for which I apologize. I'm gonna be taking a small vacation at the later end of the month, during which I'll likely not be online much. So I'm most likely replying early-mid March.

But when I get back, trust me I'm going to be writing the next part for you all. I really appreciate how much you all enjoy the story, and I hope that I can keep it enjoyable!
