The #IsraelHamasWar is about the #IsraelPalestineWar which dates back more than 100 years ago with the Balfour Declaration on November 2, 1917, when Britain’s then-foreign secretary, Arthur Balfour, wrote a pledge addressed to Lionel Walter Rothschild, a figurehead of the British Jewish community with the aim of establishing a Jewish state in Palestine.

This was followed by the British Mandate of 1923 which ended until the creation of Israel on May 14, 1948.

On the following day (May 15, 1948), the first #ArabIsraeliWar started when five Arab nations (#Lebanon, #Syria, #Iraq, #Egypt and #SaudiArabia) invaded the territory in the former Palestinian mandate (#Israel).
