the way matt creates these emotionally** flat??? characters who have family attachments to the main pcs and yet there's just something.... off about the way they display intimacy that it equally angers me, makes my skin crawl, and makes me just want to write extensively on what a master storyteller matt is. the way he presents just in this campaign alone, parental figures that on paper can easily be defended and rallied behind somehow especially if their choices played out more negatively than they intended*, and yet actually experiencing people who you, individually, care so much about in your life and who, you would just naturally believe, would also care so much about you, but there's a blip on the monitor and a disconnect that at first is so infinitesimal. until it's not. until you get bruised deeper and they look at you the same. and it's like there's no true empathetic connection. from your "loved one". it's not malice, it's not heartless or calloused, it's just.... it's surface-level and it's crossed t's and dotted i's and you know that they do not mean it to hurt you. but they also don't really mean it when they tell you they love you. and it aches so incredibly well done that matt will have these figures look into the eyes of their own and say the words and have a softness in their face, and yet have no genuine fierceness to the love they claim for someone who has so much love for them. and it's not a criticism, it's just so well done because it's such a nuanced relationship in the world and it sucks but matt always delivers it so perfectly

I get what people mean when they say things like “you should care about x whether it has to do with you or not, that’s just being a decent person” but sympathy only gets you so far! Coalition building REQUIRES people seeing their struggle in the struggle for others. It’s lovely for short-term work to say “oh I care for others so I’m doing this” but inevitably, actual engaged solidarity will come with a cost! And when that toll becomes too heavy, no matter how well-intentioned you begin, if you can think, “it’s not about me” you will cave!
No, every issue does not have to directly relate to you but if you cannot see where the systems overlap you will always be at the mercy of seeing yourself as separate from the struggle you support, and a wedge will be driven either through repeated “us vs them” conditioning (even seemingly polite allyship like ‘cis people don’t come to this trans rally’) OR when it becomes so costly to support as an ally, you will stop “sticking your neck out” for something that “doesn’t concern” you.
Movements die when people outside the affected group stop caring, but one group’s injury is an injury to your movement too. We are not all facing unique enemies but the many-headed monster that attacks us all. And focusing on revealing where our fights meet is infinitely more important to me, and to genuine solidarity, than separating out who is supporting a cause for “””selfish””” reasons.

If I rewrote the Sequel Trilogy (which I will NOT, I already have so much to write for my OC stuff, please brain) I think I’d get rid of Kyle Ron entirely. Just throw out the whole man. Imperial heir Rey Palpatine would’ve made a much better force-sensitive antagonist

Charleston: The Ku Klux Klan plans to rally in South Carolina, even as black churches have been warned to take "necessary precautions" as authorities in southern states investigate several church fires over the last week.

"We're standing up for the Confederacy," James Spears, the chapter's "great titan," said on Tuesday.

Citing a series of arson attacks that struck black churches across the South in the 1990s, the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) used a Twitter hashtag that went viral this week, tweeting on Tuesday: "Almost 20 years later, we must again ask, #WhoIsBurningBlackChurches?" Hours later, another historically black church went up in flames.
Tuesday's fire at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Greeleyville, South Carolina, about 100 kilometres north of Charleston, comes 20 years after the same congregation's church was burned to the ground by men with ties to the Ku Klux Klan.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it is looking into the fire.

Investigators were also looking into the cause of fires that destroyed black churches in Macon, Georgia, and Warrenville, South Carolina.
The ATF has taken the lead on investigating the fires in Charlotte and Macon as well.
The spectre of black churches burning-especially after the June 17 massacre that left nine parishioners dead at a black church in Charleston, rattled many in the black communities of America's southern states.
The Civil War-era flag and related monuments have become flashpoints after nine black men and women were gunned down at a historic church in Charleston, South Carolina.
The June 17 shootings at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church prompted renewed calls for South Carolina to remove the Confederate flag on the State House grounds in Columbia.
Republican Governor Nikki Haley, who added her voice to those calls last week, on Tuesday brought a Charleston church to its feet at a funeral for one of the victims when she declared: "That Confederate flag will come down".
The church massacre followed a year of debate over US race relations spurred by the killings of unarmed black males by police in Missouri, New York City and elsewhere, and the case of a black man in Baltimore who died of injuries suffered in police custody.

With some of the changes to boon distribution and skill function in world vs world, and some personal experience my squad leader had, some adjustments were made to my build in our havoc comp that took me from healbuffbot to.... I guess true hybrid?
Every healer is one good build away from being a bloodthirsty maniac.

You've played Colin McRae Rally, you've played Richard Burns Rally, but have you played Penguin Stamp Rally?
Tumblr media
Does anyone else think the restored North Shirahebi Shrine in the Koimonogatari adaptation and the parts of the Monogatari anime which are set after Koi looks a lot like the rally school from the original Colin McRae Rally on the PS1?
