so I read this fic, this fic, and this fic lol and it totally melted my brain and then I started thinking and this happened lol.

Carol hasn’t had a family get together since December of ‘83 and she hasn’t talked to Steve longer. Which would make this get together very odd. Carol honestly wouldn’t have gone if her mother hadn’t made her. She’s fuming because not only is she forced to be here she’s forced to watch Steve be happy, it’s not like she doesn’t want him to be happy it’s just very upsetting to see him be happy without her or Tommy. So instead of walking up to her cousin and ex friend to just talk she sits in her chair and glares at him.

When Steve had been informed about the get together he internally grimaces, thankfully he didn’t have to listen to his parents talk for long since he had work. Which he then could bitch to Robin about. “How can a family reunion be that terrible?” Robin questions, popping a piece of candy in her mouth. Steve groans and lifts his head slightly staring at Robin. He’s surprised she hasn’t caught on yet, unless,

“wait you don’t know?” Steve lifts his head up fully staring unblinkly at robin trying to figure out if she is joking or not.

“uhhh no I do not know, but do tell.” She gets this giddy look in her eyes pushing the box of candy off the counter he wrinkles his nose knowing he’s going to have to clean it up later since Robin hates sweeping.

“It’s hard to explain,” Steve starts knowing damn well it’s not hard to explain quit the opposite really. Not that hard to tell his best friend that his old friend is actually his cousin. “Well actually it’s not that hard just difficult- nope still not that right wording-“

“Steve it’s alright if you don’t want to tell me.” Robin smiles at him reassuringly.

“carol’s my cousin.” He mumbles out in a rush. He immediately clocks when robins face goes from confusion to shock.

“Perkins?” Steve nods.

“if you want I could come, be some support or Eddie could come too, maybe the get away driver when she comes near.” She starts to ramble her rambling making Steve feel instantly better.

“I think I need to do this alone and my family would immediately think you were my girlfriend.” Steve smiles at her.

“I’m okay being your girlfriend to make you feel better.” Robin rolls her eyes as to say he’s being a dingus.

“aww thanks Robbie.” He coos at her which immediately makes her hit him on the shoulder.

Carol has managed to not talk to anybody at this get together. Avoiding meeting Steve’s eyes, she was successful until her aunt(Steve’s mother) decided they needed to resolve their differences. She sees her mother snickering with her. Carol rolls her eyes when Steve sits next to her.

“Y’know I don’t want to be here as much as you do.” He isn’t looking at her when he says this.

“That supposed to make me feel better, because it doesn’t, great to know your only cousin closes to you doesn’t even want to see you.” She rolls her eyes and blows a bubble with her gum.

“right sorry, look I’m sorry for how I left you and Tommy.” Steve still doesn’t look at her when saying this and it pisses her off.

“it’s in the past, past it.” She shrugs, she isn’t past it far from it actually. She wants to shake Steve and ask him why he doesn’t talk to them anymore, to her. Carol hates to admit it but she misses her cousin he was one of her best friends growing up, them both growing up as only children. She didn’t have anyone else sure she had her mom and dad but Steve was her only friend before he met Tommy and she fell for him.

“just know I’m still here if you need me.” Steve taps her shoulder three times like when they were younger then gets up and goes across the room to talk to one of their cousin from out of state.

Carol frowns and goes back to moping.

I HEARD WE’RE TALKING ABOUT KC USED AS CHARACTER HERE CUZ BOI FO I HAVE LOT IN MY MIND ABOUT THAT (a bit of a rant so uh yeah)

I feel like such, and I mean SUCH a wasted opportunity and potential for KC as a character. Multiple times where I felt like it just so off about how he’s been handle and how it ended. You mean to tell me, this man right here has just gotten his redemption to being good, gone for a few months away from us to see how he’s doing only for us to see one last time before he got straight kill by his own Bloody Son? I mean yeah sure, Im driven for angst but the way they did it for his death just felt not earn, i dont know how to explain it. Im glad that KC at least acknowledge about Bloodmoon’s whole issue but to just die afterwards?? And that’s it?? Yeah ok, he’s a pacifist now and a good guy, but he’s still can defend himself. Maybe came out injured from the fight but still alive. But no…. He just die. Thats it

I cant help but feel like they have been just like, throwing KC’s character around. They either dont know what to do or have other plans for him, but just the way it’s been handle it just. I dont know I gotten a whole rant about this.

I remember when they said that Moon will give KC a proper body but apparently Moon never made that happen. Now, I wanna give the showrunner the benefit of a doubt and cut them some slack cuz Im sure they have other things to do beside the show to even remember that

Oh yeah no I do feel they didn't know what to do with him other than have him come in once a while and felt the death necessary rather than use him more. (The two voice actors for Sun and Moon have like three channels.) I do feel they haven't been too consistent anyway with KC (the rush of a redemption, no seeming closure for somethings, etc. I could be missing something but yeah) They could've had him for the current astral plot (Given he has star knowledge and *harnessing its power*) PLUS Earth's situation about her feelings about the Creator (I'll keep bringing it up, but Deliberately MADE to be a killing machine is right in her face. I know she has Forgor but once again her whole Need to know and uncomfortable with being out of loop. Her entire encounter with KC would be such a haze to her it'd definitely bother her enough.) KC isn't the first example of not using a character to its full (Solar Flare and Even first Bloodmoon. Literally... literally was taught magic and thats never brought up again). It's also just how numbers work on the channel too. They take most review from youtube and discord from what I understand and from what I see there is a difference with majority and what we're saying most of the time. Lunar was brought back cause he was rather popular already (also he wasn't fully killed either in the same episode).

omg hello!!!!! this is my favorite question ever thank you for asking!!

saal is short for standing at a lightswitch by @deadpatrol, which is a tubbo-centric fic I am obsessed with. It's very thoughtful and well written etc etc, but mainly the concept is so wild and charming to me that I end up making a lot of joke posts centered around the characters (see: the saal tag on my blog)

Basic premise of the fic: dsmp Tubbo gets plopped into a modern au setting where no one knows who he is. While this new world is much more peaceful, Tubbo remains paranoid that old dangers could reappear and makes it his mission to hunt down his old friends and re-befriend them. Surely this will go well!

There's 4 main cast members:

Tubbo (our determined protagonist!!)

Ranboo (peer pressured into being here, deeply, deeply weird for reasons that are largely ignored* by the text)

Tommy (having the time of his life)

Wilbur (the brains of the operation and the only person willing to ask Tubbo to his face what his deal is. Tubbo's deal is that he's a 17yo widow/war veteran from minecraft, which is not something that can easily or reasonably be deduced about a stranger. This causes some shenanigans as Wilbur tries to Sherlock Holmes his way into figuring out Tubbo, who is at the same time trying to avoid being figured out using the combined power of his training as a politician and a spy)

I'm rambling. BUT!

TL;DR saal is a fic that is genuinely good but also has a dedicated meme community on tumblr
