Let's hear it for the tiny, boring, crustose lichens out there who we all barely notice but nonetheless, continue thriving in this harsh-ass world of ours. Dudes like C. heppii, who grows on pebbles, rock fragments, concrete, mortar, and even seashells, and who you can barely see because of their thin, pale thallus and 0.5mm wide apothecia. Just itty bitty lil fellas! So far, there are only records of C. heppii in North America and Europe, but he's probably all over the place and we've just failed to find him. Like have you ever thought to look at what's living on pebbles? Walls? Old shells? Have you thought about the vast, tiny worlds existing all around you? Isn't it magical to realize that there is so much . . . muchness out there?

hell was breaking up with an asshole who only knew how to escalate and then meltdown. tate had thought about texting logan too many times after max had stormed out of the apartment in the early hours of morning. she managed to get a little sleep before life was back at her door, demanding that she kept going despite the surge of emotions and exhaustion she was wrangling.

she'd debated when to message, and what, but tate was too impulsive to allow uncertainty to hold her up. she was running a few errands in the late afternoon when she finally cracked and sent off a quick text, only two days past their original meeting. a preamble, tate hated to text, but calling out of the blue wasn't as acceptable socially anymore.
