Greetings from Bar-sur-Aube where we currently have 4c and sun. Typically, I am going to be cooking soups and some apple puddings.
Can you believe that I have never noticed this house, until yesterday, a change of parking places meant I was able to admire it. Isn’t it wonderful that, after five years, this town can still surprise me.
There is a strike in France (oh yes!) not sure if it is tanker drivers but cities/towns and villages have run out of petrol and diesel.
My goodness it has been another busy week, I went to a concert in the church in a nearby village, Anie invited me and I drove her and her friend Monique. When I got there I saw Jeannette and Eric, she would have liked me to sit with them but realised I was with friends. Typical church the wooden pews were not made for large posteriors and I was glad when I could stand up! Later in the week it was a concert by the young people from the conservatoire. A little girl aged seven was very good on the piano as was an older girl. The violinists, which included some very young girls, were also very competent, not like me who never progressed due to the Elastoplast being removed from the neck of the violin, this was to teach me placing my fingers for the notes, once the gooey bit wore off I was terrible. I think the only thing I remember playing was Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, I wasn’t much better on the piano either 😂. There. We’re clarinetists, trumpet, trombone, and flute, it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and talent.
After the rain that fell last week, I was beginning to think that not only autumn but winter had arrived, however we have had some wonderfully sunny days even if there has been a mist every morning. I managed to get into the garden and cleared out the cherry tomato plant, tidied up the strawberries, the planter I made earlier in the year and cleared out some of the bolting lettuce and keeping my fingers crossed that the beetroot will start to grow a bit bigger.
I was invited to the home of new American friends who live in town. I took a little cream rose and a box of macaroons to have with our tea. Three hours just flew by, we talked, laughed and talked some more.
Someone, I have no idea who, called at my home one afternoon as I was dozing in the chair. They left me a book (English) so I now have something else to read.
After the closure of the cinema, I wondered if I would ever see Sara, one of the co-operatives, again. She used to take one of the French classes that Jony and I attended and she had always been very friendly to me. Well yesterday I saw her talking to Françoise (the regular cinema attendee who munched on chocolate bars) I spoke to them both then asked Sara if I could speak to her in English, apologising to Françoise for the change of language. I had expressed how sad I was at the closure and as I was preparing to leave, I hugged Sara and wished her well with whatever she did next.
The CT scan is now out of the way there is only the ECG next week and then we can see what if anything has shown up.

My gorgeous grandson has started with the cold that “The Daddy” just managed to get over, “The Mummy” is starting with it too. I am not the only one with hospital appointments, my gorgeous granddaughter is going to hospital this coming Friday.
There was another market in town yesterday, by the time I got there, after lunch, there were not many stalls left. I did, however, stumble upon the stall that has sewing and knitted items. I can’t resist lavender bags so I bought some more, plus there were felt Xmas tree decorations and I purchased a couple of those too. I wandered down to the bar, met Yves on the way and we had a little chat, he was saying about the arthritis in his fingers, he always has a smile though and walks a lot to help his circulation. The bar are now offering cocktails, I asked Christophe if he had honed the moves for mixing cocktails and we had a little laugh as he showed his moves. Then it was home to cut the grass, turn the compost and then have a nice relax.
Hopefully I will be back with my knitting workshop ladies next week.
When I was in the UK I bought some small lavender bags, some I saw were £4.99 each (they were tiny), these two cost me 3€, the lady just handed me this bag, which has a fish shaped bag, (fish are the great Tunisian good luck symbol) and you must admit the other does have a little “tartan” effect so represents north of my birthplace.

2023 GPF Thoughts - Sr Pairs
minerva hase and nikita volodin (ger) burst out of nowhere. their clean lines and solid landings are gorgeous, and while they have their elements down, i would love to see them continue to grow in skating skills, connection to each other, and unity between them and the music. two excellent programs, win was very deserved. 1 SP / 2 FS / 1
sara conti and niccolo macii (ita) get better every season, and i love watching them. it looks like they've finally hit their stride, and i am so happy for them it's unreal. that cinema paradiso free skate is incredible. can't wait to see them at euros (repeat pls!!!) and worlds. they can absolutely challenge for a world medal. 3 SP / 1 FS / 2
deanna stellato-dudek and maxime deschamps (can) are still solid, and have gorgeous lifts and extensions as always. however. i am beginning to wonder if it might be time for deanna to re-retire. she's FORTY. which is incredible, and i give her all the props and credit for her hard work and dedication, but... how is her body surviving training. oof. 2 SP / 3 FS / 3
maria pavlova and alexei sviatchenko (hun) were the surprise of the event. since annika hocke and robert kunkel (ger) pulled out, they were the first alternates, and they were surprisingly lovely to watch. skating skills and presentation not at the level of the other teams, to be sure, but solid elements held them up. 4 SP / 5 FS / 4
rebecca ghilardi and filippo ambrosini (ita) are one of my favorite teams to watch. their lines are gorgeous, and their ability to storytell through their choreography and execution is so good. aside from the side-by-sides, their programs were nicely done. can't wait to see them solidify everything for the rest of the season. 5 SP / 4 FS / 5
lia pereira and trennt michaud (can) are STUNNING. i love watching them, and i'm so excited to continue to see how they develop. i was a HUGE fan of trennt with his previous partner evelyn walsh, and watching him with lia is just as good if not better. gorgeously laid-out programs, and can't wait to see them at 4c and worlds! 6 SP / 6 FS / 6

4c) Audience Engagement, Ethics and Diversity
Immediate target audiences would be locals, and tenants or visitors in the Portside, coming from the retail shops, cinemas, and others. Future target audiences would be Olympic visitors and athletes. The demographic would be middle class young adults to middle-aged adults with nuclear families, specifically, 18-40 years of age as the audience would require prior knowledge in technology in order to properly engage with the AR world. People with families will also be able to bring their children as the AR will engage with the children and will turn the space into a unique world for them and adults, and educate everyone of any culture of Northshore’s historical wildlife.

Black-Out Island Hangar C4D
Previously I had some concept sketches for a hangar and blast door built in C4D. I really liked this concept so I decided to elaborate on it in Cinema 4D.
To begin with I wanted the side walls. I started off with a high-poly cube and began structuring it similarly to the ones in the sketches- even with the maintainence walkway at the bottom.
From there I added the fins which are all equally separated from each other and I checked this mathematically. I’ll be damned if I ever find something not 100% aligned.
From here I created two larger walls and mirrored them on each side. Here I would start structuring the room properly. I even added a tiny green block to show how big a person would be in comparison with everything else to give a portrayal of scale.
I had some walkways leftover from a previous project so I decided it would be quicker to utilise them here instead of making a new one. I designed two doorways cut out from the back wall and a window going through in between them. There is a singular block going through the middle of the window frame with a transparent and reflective material which makes it like glass.
Utilising the blast door and intercom I made previously I could assemble it all into something which looks almost exactly like my original sketches.

Who were you named after?
Definitely not the rapper with the similar name. Probably from a baby book, but my parents had the same first letter in their names, so my sister and I do too. It amuses me greatly because teachers I had, she now does and they always mistake us for one anoher.
Last time you cried?
Properly cried or shed a tear? I shed a tear during Trespasser at the end. Shed a few when I had to leave Hawke behind. Last time I cried was at the end of Mass Effect 3.
Do you like your handwriting?
That’s a confidence question. These days, kind of. I’ve defaulted to cursive for whatever reason, so while my peers can’t read it, I just like the loopy letters in my notebook.
What is your favourite lunch meat?
Uh...meat? I don’t know, roast beef?
Longest relationship?
A year and a half for romantically. Platonically, probably nearing six years.
Do you still have your tonsils?
I hope so? (That sounds vaguely threatening, OP. What are you going to do, take them?)
What is your favourite kind of cereal?
I don’t like cereal. I like marshmallows from Lucky Charms, but I vehemently despise milk. So I don’t eat it.

...depends on the day. If I’ve just gotten home from a band practice, no. If it’s just a normal day, yeah.
Do you think you’re strong willed?

You’re assuming I wouldn’t eat whatever ice cream you put in front of me. But I love lemon custard, specifically from Baskin Robbins.
What is the first thing you notice about a person?
In person, usually their clothing. People say you can tell a lot by their shoes. I don’t care enough about shoes unless they’re glowing like Twinkle Toes. Online, usually grammar. I’m far from policing someone’s grammar, but it is the first thing I notice.
Football or baseball?

I love doughnuts in general. I will eat whatever kind you can find. Though I do love ones with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.

I don’t talk to people on the phone. The last person I texted was a friend because I didn’t know if our class was meeting that day or not.

Favourite food to eat?
I’ll probably eat anything you set in front of me, as long as it’s not a bug, eel, calamari, snails, sardines or tartar sauce. On that note, I sort of have a hankering for spicy cup-o-noodles.

Scary movies. Hundred and ten percent.
Last movie you watched in the cinema?
Avengers Endgame? I don’t know, it’s been a while since I went to a proper movie theater, even before lockdown.
What colour shirt are you wearing?
Maroon.
Favourite holiday?
Whichever ones get me out of school. But in all seriousness, I think I like New Years most. New year, this year it was a new decade. Gives me a feeling of newness and washing away everything from the year prior. Hopefully it won’t feel like same old same old by the time 2021 rolls around.

Like a cool kid, I don’t drink.

Is it bad I usually binge mutuals’ stories until 3am when I find them?

Fiat monta exposição de design com carros clássicos
A Casa Fiat de Cultura, espaço cultural destinado a mostras artísticas em Belo Horizonte (MG), abriu as portas de uma nova exposição ontem (13). Batizada de “Beleza em Movimento – Ícones do Design Italiano”, ela traz mais de 100 peças focadas no tema, entre elas carros clássicos.
A narrativa da exposição, que ocupa todo o espaço, parte de importantes ícones do design de automóveis entre 1910 e 1960. Os estúdios que representam essas décadas são Bertone, Touring Superleggera, Pininfarina, GFG Style e Zagato.
147 ‘Cachacinha’: os 40 anos do primeiro carro movido a etanol
O curador da exposição e chefe de design da FCA para a América Latina, Peter Fassbender, diz que “a Itália criou parâmetros fundamentais à evolução dos carros, além de inspirar, até hoje, o entendimento e a produção de futuros modelos”. Ele completa dizendo que isso permitiu a criação de formas ousadas para os modelos lá desenvolvidos.
Entre os carros expostos estão Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider e Giulia Sprint, DeLorean DMC-12, Lamborghini Miura e 400 GT, as Ferrari Testarossa e Dino GT, entre outros. A montadora também levou para a exposição o conceito Fastback, mostrado no Salão do Automóvel de 2018, e que dará vida ao seu novo SUV médio.

Além dos carros, a mostra vai oferecer aos visitantes ativações que podem ser tocadas. Um espaço vai permitir, que o público participe de como é um processo de elaboração de carros. Nessa área, além do conceito Fastback, a vai expor a Toro.
Em uma área multimídia, haverá cenas de “pegas” memoráveis do automobilismo. Entre os escolhidos para ilustrar o momento estão Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, Michael Schumacher e Alain Prost.
Há uma área dedicada apenas ao som de motores de automóveis. Lá serão reproduzidos os sons das Ferrari 355, F40, F12tdf, 360 Challenge Stradale, e F50; e das Alfa Romeo 8C, 155 V6, 4C, Montreal V8 e Tipo 33 Stradale.
O espaço colecionismo vai apelar as memórias afetivas dos presentes com uma exposição de miniaturas, mostrando a evolução do desenho do carro em cada época. Há espaços dedicados ao cinema italiano, com trechos de importantes filmes produzidos entre 1940 e 1970. Isso servirá como referência a atmosfera artística e de costumes da época retratada do século XX.
