Bleach Headcanons: Skincare
Who’s the skincare expert and who uses just soap and water?
Tumblr media
Jushiro Ukitake:
He doesn’t believe in flashy skincare, thinking it needs to be convenient, gentle and affordable. Think of brands like Cerave, Cetaphil, and La Roche Posay. He’ll probably have a trusted cleanser he’s been using for years (centuries?), a reliable serum, maybe retinoid based (gotta use something anti-aging at this stage) and a good, hydrating moisturizer (illness makes his skin dry and he hates looking that way).
Byakuya Kuchiki:
Can and will only buy the best of the best. A skincare snob. Even if there’s an amazing drugstore brand, he refuses to use it. SK II, Tatcha, and La Mer are all you’ll find in his bathroom cabinet. Of course he follows the 7 step Korean skincare routine. Cleanse twice, toner, essence, serum, moisturizer eye cream. Adds a sunscreen if he plans on going out. He will not compromise his routine for anything, so be prepared to wait for him as he goes through this process everyday, twice.
Renji Abarai:
He’ll pretend like he doesn’t do any skincare but he has his little stash of items he uses for self-indulgence. He enjoys wearing face masks (thanks to Rukia), which he applies after using a cleanser that’s trending, like from Tula or Drunk Elephant. The man somehow has balanced skin so he’ll use an everyday moisturizer like the Clinique Moisture Surge.
Kensei Muguruma:
He uses his body wash as face wash, and whatever body moisturizer he has on hand he uses on his face too. What’s the point after all? It’s skin. As long as it’s clean and not cracking, there isn’t a problem.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi:
He creates his own skincare but it’s kind of questionable. He claims his skin can tolerate quite a lot, so his skincare always has heavy amounts of acids in it; glycolic acid, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid. Top this off with a heavy dosage retinol. Does it work? We may never know from all the makeup he uses on his face. At least he removes all of it before sleeping (?).
Kisuke Urahara:
He also makes his own concoctions, but in a much less dramatic way than Mayuri. Grows his own ingredients, like oranges for vitamin C, mint for salicylic acid, and carrots for retinol. Think of his products like a  clean, organic skincare line that he wouldn’t sell to anyone unless he’s happy with it himself. He rarely buys commercially available products but the one thing he will spend his money on is sheet masks, they’re convenient and he honestly finds them tedious to make on his own.
Shinji Hirako:
He may not show it, but this man is very self conscious about his appearance. He has a mix of both popular and indie skin care brands. Think Belif, Youth to the People and Drunk Elephant. He probably regularly cleanses and uses a moisturizer, maybe something with vitamin C in it, since he can’t have people seeing the dark circles under his eyes.
Ichigo Kurosaki:
Essence? Toner? Serums? Isn’t a cleanser just soap? Give him some bar soap and a CeraVe moisturizer. He doesn’t have time to figure this shit out. There’s people that need to be saved and stuff.
Rose Otoribashi:
Yes, he knows the difference between a toner and an essence. He also thinks essences are a gimmick. Give him a balancing cleanser for his oily skin, and a toner with some salicylic acid in it to further help the oil. Add a vitamin C serum and a lightweight moisturizer and he’s ready to rock.

Hi! Do you have an easy peasy guide to skincare and hygiene for depressed dummies? 😃
Hi love! Sharing a high-level, basic skincare routine and hygiene tips to follow:
Morning Skincare:
Gentle facial cleanser & water
Vitamin C serum + hyaluronic acid
Facial moisturizer
Sunscreen designed for your face (at least SPF 50 – I think that this La Roche Posay SPF 60 choice is the best option for the money)
Apply sunscreen to your hands, neck, and any parts that will be exposed to the sun (Don't forget to use an SPF lip balm, too!)
Nighttime Skincare:
Remove any makeup (I love these Simple makeup wipes!)
Gentle cleanser
Toner/serums (only use AHAs like glycolic acid or lactic acid and retinol/retinoids at night, using them during the day can increase chances of sunburning)
Facial moisturizer (can be heavier than the one you use during the day, especially in the winter or if you have dry skin)
Spot treatments (if needed)
Eye cream
Skincare Extras:
Exfoliate your face 2-3 times/week (I love the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads but the CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser is a great drugstore option!)
Always use disposable cloths instead of a regular towel on your face to reduce bacteria, breakouts, or infections (I love the Clean Skin Club ones!)
Exfoliate your body 2-3 times a week using a dry brush or a scrub (I love the CeraVe Salicylic Acid Body Cleanser, but my favorite is the OUAI Sugar Scrub) and follow it up with a hydrating body moisturizer
Always exfoliate and moisturize before shaving, waxing, or other body hair removal treatments (look up the timeframes for the type of hair removal you choose)
Scrub under your nails daily with antibacterial soap & water and a nail brush
Vaseline is a versatile staple item that can be used as an affordable alternative to an eye cream, cuticle oil, lip balm, or hand cream, and can be used to treat any dry, cracked, or rough patches on the skin
Use a hand lotion and moisturizer on your feet with socks every night before bed
Aloe vera and coconut oil are great skincare staples to keep on hand to soothe burns, irritation, or inflamed skin
Haircare Tips:
Shampoo your skull, condition the rest: Focus shampoo on your roots and work it through your scalp; concentrate conditioner on the ends and work your way up until you reach the base of your skull - around your upper ear lobe
Always comb, never brush, your hair when wet: Gently use a wide-tooth comb, from root to tip, on wet hair to prevent breakage
Use a special towel to dry your hair: My favorite is from Crown Affair (pricey for what it is but worthwhile in the long-term), but a Turbie Twist from the drugstore works infinitely better than a regular towel that weighs down and causes frizzy, damaged hair
Always use a heat protection spray before blow drying or straightening/curling your hair: (Briogeo and Oribe products are my love for all haircare products, including their blowdry creams – also love R +Co. for a heat protection styling mist)
Choose your hair ties wisely: Use seamless or silk hair ties exclusively to prevent breakage or awkward creases on your hair. Wear a silk scrunchie if you prefer. These hair ties from Amazon are my holy grail (only $7 for 100 hair ties!), and they come in a portable ziplock bag
Use dryer sheets to minimize hair frizz and water or Vaseline to slick back fly-aways
Other Hygiene Tips:
Brush teeth, floss, & skincare (2x/day); Get a water pick, too, if you can!
Use a toothbrush cover at all times; Close the toilet seat before flushing
Wash your body towels at least once a week
Wash your pillowcases weekly and sheets at least once every 2 weeks
Throw out and replace your mascara every 2-3 months
Change your underwear and socks daily or more after sweating/working out
For those who menstruate, change your pad or tampon every 3-4 hours
Vulva owners: Use a fragrance-free soap on the outside, only water to clean the inside – no fancy wipes or douching. Wipe front to back!
Wear cotton underwear whenever possible; Find a fabric that breathes
Have a similar buttocks cleansing routine that you do for your face to prevent embarrassing zits or acne
Don't shave between waxes; Use tweezers if necessary a few days after your hair removal treatment
Always wash your hands before touching your face
Hope this helps xx

zb1’s skincare routines
shanbin and zhang hao
THE husbands!!
i feel like they would have both had pretty intricate skincare routines and then exchanged stuff until at some point they just straight up share the same products
they definitely do the basics, cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen
we know that shanbin also has those vitamins that he takes so i also see him taking collagen and vitamin c supplements
also some extras like retinol, serums, essence, oil cleansers, aha, bha, the list goes on
i think individually they know a lot about skincare and have perfected their routines and together they are just unstoppable
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also feel like they use sulwhasoo or beauty of joseon
my guess would be
oil cleanser
water based cleanser
chemical exfoliator (occasionally!)
toner
essence
serums (at night!)
sheet mask (at night!)
eye cream
moisturizer
sunscreen (in the morning!)
and supplements
seok matthew
i actually have no idea with him
he definitely doesn’t seem as invested as haobin
his older sister gives me major skincare vibes though (she’s so cool can she adopt me i’m canadian too)
i think he mostly just picks stuff up from her
i can see him getting a lot of the stuff that trends on tiktok
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like the snail mucin essence and sunscreen sticks
i feel like his skincare would be pretty light and gentle
an overall solid routine but he probably doesn’t know the details
my guess would be
makeup remover/micellular water
water based cleanser
pimple patch
toner
essence
moisturizer
sunscreen stick
ricky
ofc mr young and rich, tall and handsome probably has his own dermatologist who does weekly checkups and treatments
Tumblr media
probably has custom made skincare if he even needs it at this point
can he pls share of that with the other boys because some of them really need it…(we’ll get to them later)
my guess would be
$$$$$$
gunwook
oh boy
this is when things start going downhill
honestly i think he has a very basic but clean routine
probably doesn’t bother with any treatments or serums
i don’t see him doing anything that wouldn’t be daily so probably no exfoliating for him either
i feel like he would stick to one brand too just to make things simpler
Tumblr media
i’m thinking round lab
he’s probably done some research and it’s a very popular brand in korea
i can see him doing sheet masks too but more in a dog union sleepover animal face mask kind of way
pls why am i lowkey roasting him (T ^ T) in the 0% chance he reads this i’m sorry gunwook ily but you just don’t have that vibe pls tell me if i’m wrong though
my guess would be
foam cleanser (idk why gunwook feels very foam coded to me)
pimple patch
toner
moisturizer
sunscreen
taerae
they don’t call him fashion taeraerist for nothing
i don’t think his skincare routine would be any better tbh
like i simply cannot imagine anything except for hand soap or the all-in-one soap and both options scare me
i feel like as a trainee and then an idol his routine has got to be better though
i hope he got forced to use actual products
probably ended up with drugstore stuff (T ^ T)
so um my optimistic? guess is
cleanser
toner (maybe)
moisturizer
sunscreen (maybe)
gyuvin
same situation as taerae and gunwook but worse somehow
once again!!!!! i’m getting soap vibes from him
boy probably didn’t bring any skincare because we saw what his suitcase looked like
i’m not convinced he even uses skincare at this point (if that is the case i’m so jealous because how do i make my skin look like his)
either that or it’s super chaotic like the most illogical combination you’ve ever seen like only exfoliator and night cream
seems like the type to use skincare when there’s a problem if he even notices that there is a problem
alternatively there is this olay retinol spf moisturizer (my head hurts trying to think of the logistics of this) that i can see him using as his one and only skincare product
Tumblr media
jiwoong
finally breaking the curse
jiwoong gives me major vegan good for the environment vibes
i mean he doesn’t even eat snacks so
i feel like he’d like the dr. ceuracle vegan kombucha stuff
Tumblr media
also because he 100% drinks kombucha you can’t change my mind
i think his skincare routine is simple but well thought out! like haobin, he’s tried a lot of stuff out and has narrowed it down to the essentials
also probably uses de-aging stuff so he can be an immortal vampire
i can see him using those led face masks once in a while too
Tumblr media
it probably freaked the other boys out so much the first time they saw it LMAO
he probably also has the most lifestyle habits to help his skin
like changing his pillowcases frequently, using conditioner that won’t cause acne, staying hydrated, avoiding oily food, etc
he legit is what i aspire to be if i had the same willpower that he does
my guess would be
micellular water
gel cleanser (idk he feels gel coded to me)
toner
essence
serum sheet mask
eye cream
moisturizer
slugging (at night)
sunscreen
yujin
our wildcard yujin!!
i literally have no idea i’m so sorry
i feel like he would pick up skincare either from his mom or maybe one of the stylists from yuehua or boys planet?
would probably just take recommendations from people around him
Tumblr media
i’m feeling innisfree for him? might be because he sort of reminds me of wonyoung and ofc who can forget the iconic plump, glowing, hydration boost
my guess would be
water based cleanser
toner
essence
moisturizer
sunscreen
if you’ve made it this far, tysm for reading my random rambling! this is based off of no information except what i know about korean skincare and also what i thought the boys would be like based on their personalities. i couldn’t find bare faced photos for everybody or info on their actual routines but i’d love to find out! so if you know anything about that pls lmk!!

If we want to promote the boycott of is-not-reali products, we need to give substitutes and options for it.
Now, I also remember sisters asking me for my skincare/haircare routines, and I wanted to give a detailed article on that, but now it ain't about the time.
So, here, I'll try to compile these two topics.
Skincare that's effective without using any israeli/american product.
First of all, I don't have a skincare routine. I don't follow any step by step process. But, I do use products that help me keep my skin clean and hydrated.
And the most important advice I'll give to sisters is not to go for "skincare brands" that give pea sized products in bag size money. These industries are mostly scam. Always go for drugstore products. Those that are created for medicinal purposes oriented towards genuinely healing the skin problems. And if you don't have any active skin problems, don't expose your face to various products for achieving "perfect skin". There's nothing like that. Normal skins have occasional pimples, pigmentations, dark spots and uneven texture.
Anyway.
If you're going for drugstore products...
Go for phrama companies like Cipla and Reddy's Laboratories.
I personally use Reddy's Venusia Max moisturizer as my skin gets extremely dry often. If you have dry n normal (combination) skin you can use it. And if you have oily skin, go for squalane based moisturizers from Derma Co.
Next in line, if you want to use any serums, vit C is best for skins and there's a product by Cipla "Rivella Vit C and HA Serum" it's soothing, and effective. Alhamdulillah.
As a face cleanser or what you call as face wash, there are very brilliant new company products from DeConstruct that I love love love because they are so gentle on face and keep your pH balance and moisture intact (great substitute for Dove soap)
Then there's one more important aspect on skincare that's protection from UV...so you'll need a sunscreen. Go for Regaliz Truederma SPF 50. It's efficient. Alhamdulillah. Or Minimalist Suncreen spf 60 + Niacinamide incase you wanna go economically minimalistic. Derma Co Zinc Sunscreen is good too (one that comes in orange coloured pack)
Now, these four things are more than enough to keep your skin good.
Cleanser, Serum, Moisturizer, Sunblock.
Apart from that if you still wanna have some extra products...not from drugstore but excellent Indian brands...then Go for Pilgrim or Minimalist. They have best the ranges in every product.
And then comes Haircare...
Boycott Garnier. Boycott Loreal Paris. Boycott Head n Shoulders.
Go for St. Botanica. The Shampoos are sooooo great. Allahummaabaarik. SLS, Paraben Free, Actually formulated for cleaning dirt from hairs and reduce hair problems. Conditioners too are effective and they actually work as they advertise. If not St. Botanica, mamaearth would be good...but I didn't see it's results as best as St. Botanica.
For lipbalms though, you can go for Mamaearth. The shades are subtle and help keep your lips hydrated and avoid pigmentations. Stop using Ponds, Vaseline, Nivea. .PLEASE!!!! Their lipbalms do nothing but make your lips darker and greasy.
Makeup, I don't use tbh. But few years back, I had gotten a lipstick from MyGlamm and a Foundation of Biotique. They were good. You can go for it.
Bodywashes, Feet scrubs - Bodywise
Hair removal gels/creams - Sirona
Perfumes - Ajmal / Maison De Fouzdar are best. No doubt.
I'm sharing this post not to promote any sort of "self care" in this situation....but as an essential need of substitutes. Infact these substitutes are way better and effective than the Israeli American products we've been wasting our money on.
I have tried to mention most of the things used by women because that's the biggest market for Israeli products.
If you are an Indian, promote Indian brands 'cause we gotta "make in India" ;)
For that we need to use only that which is "made in India"
Go ahead...you can add anything else I might've missed. And yes...If any Mother's seeing this, let us know baby products that are made in India.
- Umm Taimiyyah 🕊️

Oh also some general all-purpose makeup tips (source: I used to have to do heavy show makeup; disclaimer: I am TME and decently pale and I don’t know what you’re looking for wrt specifics)
- clean your brushes/tools/sponges regularly to avoid bacterial accumulation and discoloring
- if you tend to have sensitive skin, do a little test patch of makeup on your inner wrist before covering your face in something. Better to find out you’ll get a small rash on your wrist than one all over your cheeks and nose and and and [also if you have allergens check the ingredients]
- makeup wipes are important, I like Neutrogena’s because they tend to be good for sensitive skin
- some people use miscellar water + cotton pads/balls. I don’t know what the difference is between that and regular wipes I think it’s a matter of personal preference?
- regular soap and water usually won’t cut it for makeup removal, because a lot of makeup these days tends to be made to resist being sweated off or resist removal in other ways. Makeup removal tools (wipes, micellar water (spelling?), etc) are built to Actually Remove It
- not removing makeup can leave your pillow case a mess and also irritate your skin so try your best to get as much off before you go to bed
- start small. I rarely did makeup before having to do show makeup and I found it overwhelming to have to learn an entire face routine. Learn how to apply lipstick and play with that before moving on to eyebrows and play there and so on and so forth
- do also try figuring out a routine that works for you — practicing just eyes or just nose is good for honing specifics, but you’ll probably want to leave the house with more than just a shiny nose, so practice a full face every so often as well
- figure out what kind of facial features you have and look up makeup tutorials with those in mind. I think you mentioned you had hooded eyelids? You can look up eyeshadow tutorials for hooded eyelids specifically, or for strong/weak jaws, or for pointed/flat/hooked/small/large/etc noses, or any other feature you have
- it’s most hygienic to avoid sharing eye makeup or lipstick with other people because mouths and eyes have bodily fluids and can spread germs more easily than, say, blush for the cheeks or bronzer for the forehead
- figure out what shades of makeup work best for your skin tone. Sometimes at the store you can test out a little bit on yourself before you buy, which is technically not allowed but to my knowledge rarely enforced. There are ways online to figure out if you have a warm/cool/neutral undertone, but you can also compare shades and figure out which you prefer
- I recommend retail pharmacies/drugstores [I am however USAmerican so idk if that’s applicable to you] for starting out because they have cheap makeup sets that will help you get used to the process and mechanics behind makeup before you drop half paycheck on Ultra Super Deluxe Buzzword Blast Eyeshadow Bronzer Palette and then realize you aren’t sure how to apply it + you can play around with cheap drugstore makeup and not feel like you’re wasting it
- a lot of people are saying “just do what you want!! There are no rules!!” which, while true, is not especially helpful, but it does help to keep in mind that you can forgo X Y or Z and end up okay, especially if you’re still figuring out what you do/don’t enjoy. There are a lot of different products (liquid/pen eyeliner, lipstick/stain/liner, etc) and while some people swear up and down by one, you might find that specific tool/product/technique doesn’t work for you. This is not a reflection of you or value or anything; it’s (sometimes literally) just different strokes for different folks
- color correction! The NikkiTutorials video gets into this more but if you have bluish coloring on your cheeks/jaw from facial hair shadow, you can apply a little bit of orange to balance it out. I have a very red face, so a little bit of green balances that out. Granted Nikki and I both have very light skin so YMMV
- when you apply lipstick, take a napkin or toilet paper or tissue and put it between your lips and press down on it. You may see a kiss mark — do this once or twice more until you aren’t leaving a dark kiss mark. This process I thiiiiiiink is called blotting? Don’t quote me on that. But it helps remove excess lipstick and helps you avoid leaving lipstick marks on other places, like mugs or cups
- a lot of “beginner makeup tutorials,” while not being for trans women specifically, can still be useful in that they’ll teach you mechanics and specifics for “what exactly is contouring” and “how do I figure out which shade of lipstick is best for my skin tone” or “should I use setting spray or setting powder”
- that’s about all I got. Good luck have fun
tysm actually

─♣️─ Lackadaisy : Lacka-Lacy² !
⸝⸝ tl;dr : a continuation of this post, and more headcanons for Lacy Hardt ! I always felt like the last post wasn't enough, so here I am with more ! :D
⸝⸝ note : it's a repost, actually ! i decided to change some things up a bit and make it cleaner overall, as the old one was me on like, two cups of coffee and a gummy candy T-T
Tumblr media
Dog person Lacy? Dog person Lacy.
Lacy, despite what many thinks, is actually very energetic. Well, energetic when it comes to tennis, anyways. I feel like she'd love for a dog that matches her energy; preferably a big one too, like a border collie or a dalmatian.
I just know Lacy would love to play fetch with dogs. And if possible, she'd train them to play all sorts of sports (coughcoughtenniscoughcough) with her as well !
But alas, she couldn't get one, because of both her work schedule and the lack of space in her shared apartment, so she compromises by feeding and petting the nice stray dogs that hang out near the apartment building.
Oh, and speaking of apartment ! Lacy, while she earns a pretty good salary, preferred to live with someone else so that she can save money by splitting the rent.
Actually, a lot of things Lacy do are to save money !
Going to the supermarket to pick up groceries? She's either walking or riding a bike.
Buying groceries? Coupons, coupons, coupons. Remember to pick out the ones at the back, sure they're two days away from the expiration date, but you can finish that in less in a day, anyways- Ask for discounts. Ask for discounts.
Eating out? LMAOOO what's that ?? Lacy's never heard of it. Nothing beats homecooked food plus it's cheaper so ...
And Lacy doesn't do this because she's a penny-pincher; she does spend some good money from time to time, but it's mainly for quality shoes or coats, or hair styling products (Lacy didn't get her perfect curls by using bad products on them, after all). When you're Sedgewick Sable's personal secretary, appearances matter a lot.
And speaking of appearances, Lacy doesn't really wear much makeup. The most she wears is the tiniest bit of peach eyeshadow, the softest hint of a blush, and the most subtle touch of lipstick. All drugstore bought, of course! The heat in her workspace can be oppressive, and there's no use going the whole nine yards for makeup if it's all going to melt off halfway through the work shift-
I feel like Lacy does journaling .. ?? Like, she feels like the type of person that would keep a journal.
It's nothing too fancy -- just a notebook that she probably got as a freebie at some grocery store or other place, and a pen that she'd had for God knows how long. She doesn't write in it everyday, just when she feels like it.
And "when she feels like it" means that either something happened at work, or she got something new, or she experienced something she's never experienced before.
Honestly I feel like most of her entries are just something along the lines of "Wick got shitfaced drunk at work again. And I had to clean up his mess in every sense of the word again."
Without the cursing, of course - Lacy doesn't seem like the type of person that would curse in public nor private. Though she might utter a swear under her breath every now and then -
And don't get me wrong, Lacy likes Wick as a superior and she's aware that she's getting treated better than most people in her position,,, but sometimes she just has to wonder why she still sticks around -
And then she remembers that he pays a hell of a good salary and that she's be committing self-sabotage if she decides to quit 💀
We don't get a lot of information about her home life and her relatives, but to me Lacy always seemed like she would be the breadwinner of her family. I like to imagine that she frequently sends money to them, even after they told her that they're holding up just fine on their own.
To me, Lacy also seems like the oldest out of her siblings. She gives exasperated big sister vibes, especially when it comes to her panels with Wick in them😭
ALSO !! Lacy's family, in my headcanons, aren't that well off. Sure, they didn't get the shortest end of the stick, but they weren't living lavishly either. I imagine that Lacy, being the eldest, saw how difficult their home life is and decided to push her way to the top -- legally, of course. She's a smart girl, after all, and once she has a bee in her bonnet, she's doing anything to make it happen.
And I don't know what it is, but Lacy feels like she's not from St. Louis, like she's from a bigger city and only recently moved to St. Louis for a job.
That being said, Lacy gets homesick a lot. Her hometown is just a train ride from St. Louis, but given the nature of her work as Wick's personal secretary / coffee fairy / babysitter, she couldn't really find the time to squeeze in a visit.
So she compromises by keeping photos of her family near her -- on her workspace is a framed photograph of her, her two younger sisters, and their parents. It was a formal family picture, everyone's dolled up in their Sunday's best, their smiles oddly mechanical like most family photos.
On her bedside table is another framed photograph, but this time it was a lot more .. fun. It was taken when Lacy was in high school, and summer vacation had just started. They were in the beach, happily tanned in their bathing suits. Lacy had one hand holding a rapidly melting ice cream cone, the other clutching the brim of her hat (she never really took well to the sun). All of them were grinning broadly. After all, Dad had worked extra shifts and overtimes at his work to be able to afford this trip, and they were going to make every second count.
And in her wallet, a ton of small photographs of her home -- badly taken shots of the kitchen and living room, barely visible captures of their shared bedroom with it's three beds -- Lacy's the only one neatly made -- and candid shots of her family members.
She misses them an awful lot, so she calls home as often as she can. Sure, the bill gets bigger and bigger after the first two dozen minutes, but Lacy doesn't care how big the phone people charge her, as long as she's able to talk to her family.
In the rare occasion that Lacy visits home, she blows all of her savings on presents for her siblings ("Lacy, honey, your father and I are completely fine without any presents, so don't bother and treat yourself to something you want instead, alright?"). She brings home the sweetest candies and cakes from the sweetshop, the latest toys and dolls that all the kids are playing with, books with the most vividly illustrated pages, and, occasionally, a new dress for Mom and a new pair of leather shoes for Dad. What are they going to do about it, anyways? Lacy's already bought it >:)
She spends her visits at home playing with her siblings, getting as messy as she could before going back to the clean-as-a-whistle getup for work. She loves her family and knows them like the back of her own hand, and although it breaks her heart to wave goodbye from the windows of the train, she still does it anyway, waving wildly and shouting at the top of her lungs until the train rounds the corner and vanishes from sight.
This has nothing to do with my headcanons but I just love their exchange of dialogue here ; like, I can feel the Big Sister Lacy Energy™ from these panels so much

Do you have any drugstore makeup and / or hair recommendations? Thank you!
Yes I love drugstore things. I pretty much only wear drugstore mascaras, Maybelline sky high is my fave, in the cosmic black. The L'Oreal infallible 24 hour sensational bronzer in the lightest shade is everything to me. if you're fair skinned and just want to look a little like you went on vacation you should try it. Milani cheek kiss cream blushes and lip liners are good. I love Essense lip liners, the 1.99 ones, and the lip gloss is amazing, just don't love the smell. For hair stuff, I love the brand Cake beauty, it smells so good.. I love Eva NYC products, you can get them at target Sally's or Ulta, idk if you consider that to be drugstore but they are a good price. Batiste dry shampoo I love, the unscented or clean scented one.

makeup tips from an 18 year old who has been doing her makeup for the last 6 years and basically only uses drugstore products :)
if you're just starting out with makeup and you want to buy foundation/concealer or any other facial products, start with drugstore products. chances are you are going to have to experiment a bit before finding something that works for you. once you figure out what formulas work on your skin, you can look for similar products in higher end stores if you want to.
understand your skin tone and what looks good on your skin. most things in the makeup industry are separated into warm, cool, or neutral, which is an oversimplification, but it still helps to know which one you are. once i knew i was neutral i was able to realize what shades would better fit my skin just by looking at the bottle.
look for people online that have similar skin tones to you. normally, i would say don't rely too much on influencers because what the regular person uses make up for and what they use makeup for are very different, but it can really help, especially if you are a person of color. something that looks good on lighter skin tones, could pull too light or too warm on a darker skin tone. even the color sample is how the color looks against a lighter background. so go to people with a similar skin tones for recommendations.
use less products. there are so many products that aren't necessary, so formulate your routine with your needs in mind, and only focus on the products you need. remember anything that is safe for the lips is safe for the cheeks (check to make sure its safe for the eyelids). a pink lipstick could be a cream blush, a red lipstick could be color corrector, bronzer could be eyeshadow, mascara could be an eyeliner. plus, using the same product in different parts of the face can help create a more cohesive look.
if you're new to eyeliner, don't start with liquid eyeliner. use black eyeshadow or a pencil and clean up the edge of wing with your nail. it'll be super sharp.
don't be afraid to use your hands. you can use your hands in lieu of so many make up tools. your hands warm up the product and help it blend more seamlessly, and they are very precise. just make sure to wash your hands before touching your face.
always have a darker neutral lipliner or lipstick (i like a good brown) that you can pair with other lip products to make them work for you .
i know its hard to get started with a makeup routine in this world of tiktok makeup influencers that make you feel like you need 50 products in order to start doing make up, but you don't need all that. start by figuring out why you want to start doing makeup. maybe it's because you want to feel more confident, and you think accentuating certain parts of your face will help you feel that way. maybe you want to be more creative, and use makeup as another accessory for your look. maybe you just want to take care of your face. whatever it is, make your routine work for you. take it one step at a time. this is something you have to build up to, so take it slow and figure it out as you go. trust yourself. you got this. ;)

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok so it’s the last day of february but i said i would do it and i finally forced myself to concentrate enough today post-work to make it happen so here are my 2022 beauty/skincare favs. ty to the ever-lovely @lovergirl for tagging me 🤍🤍🤍
1. Charlotte Tilbury’s Walk of Shame/Walk of No Shame lipstick - perfect rosy, bitten lips, not quite red and not quite pink but both, at least on me. Used to wear Bond Girl/MI Kiss on the daily but then discovered this. Like that one but more punchy. Still go for that on occasion but WoS is my holy grail now.
2. Chanel Chance eau Tendre - easy to wear to work, it’s light, floral, fresh, hint of citrus. Probably overpriced for how low the sillage is and that it doesn’t feel like the most complex scent ever but I like it and it doesn’t feel like just water in a bottle nor cleaning product in a bottle.
3. A’Pieu Pure Block spf45 - Korean sunscreens are fucking amazing and better than French ones any day
4. LA Girl Pro-Conceal corrector in ‘light beige’ - a lot of people think this is too thick but I find a small dot that I can blend out with my foundation brush or fingers will correct my dark circles without needing setting or a concealer on top. I have really bad creasage, I’m dry as hell and I have darker undereyes. This saved me. It’s getting harder to find so I’m looking for alts while also stocking up when I can find this.
5. BotanicChoice Retionol Gel - Idk what the concentration of this is so don’t ask. But it worked for me and I’m already chronically dry. It took about two months for me to adjust. Now I’m at the point where I probably need a higher concentration because I can use this each night as long as I moisturize after but for now I’m content to stay at this level. It took a while, but it’s been close to two years now using it on and off and all my surface level congestion got better, my texture improved, my skin became a lot closer to “glass skin” than it was before (but still not the full on tret kind of glass skin, but remember I’m dry as hell). Their website is shit but I’m about to run out of my supply and I need to figure out what to do next.
6. Rimmel Maxi Blush in Wild Card - What the Dior Rosyglow is for fair people, this is for me. Instead of creating that babydoll flushed glow, this creates a vibrant, pink-red peonies in full bloom kind of flush on my tone. Blends out so well considering it’s highly pigmented. You can use it softly or go all the way, it’s beautiful no matter what.
7. Maybelline City Bronzer in 200 - only golden toned bronzer from the drugstore to exist that I know of. Beautiful - not grey, not orange, not pink or red, not even neutral. Golden.
8. St. Ives Collagen Moisturizer - they need to stop making scrubs and stick to this moisturizer. It’s quite light though. Despite being so dry, due to my dermatitis, heavier moisturizers cause congestion for me if I use them like two nights in a row. This has a really light texture, gives me glazed skin for a while when I use it and has ceramides. Haven’t found anything that has worked for me better yet. It might exist but I gave up looking after a while since this is cheap and doesn’t cause any issues for me. Only thing is it’s relatively light for a nighttime moisturizer, but you can always layer with a humectant of some kind. Ideally, if I wasn’t wearing makeup, I would reapply this sometime in the afternoon.
9. Maybelline Lifter Gloss - this shade is Topaz which I love. I think it’s the Fenty GlossBomb original shade dupe. These really are so comfortable, buttery, un-sticky, un-gloopy, moisturizing glosses. I wake up the next day with soft lips. I wasn’t a gloss girl until these came into my life. I get it now. I also like Petal and Opal. They have more and I want them.
Okaaaay that’s all from me for now. I tag @capricornpropaganda @thecapricornwifey @afropiscesism @longlashedingenue @hazyhhoney @smokedsalmoniloveyou if you would like to!!

i really enjoy having soft skin and keeping my skin clean. especially now that i’m getting older and i don’t want to end up with really nasty-looking skin (as opposed to regular old people skin; i feel like i probably don’t have a lot to worry about since i’m half-asian and my mom/gma have aged like fine wine, but there’s always the chance i’ll end up looking like shit thanks to the other half of my genetics, which have been responsible for every major physical health problem in my life so far).....
but $45 for this moisturizer? i’m not so fucking sure, i balked at spending $15 for a face wash and i know $45 is on the lower end of Ye Average Drugstore’s premium skincare price spectrum but like!!!!!!!!!! THAT’s ALMOST 3 HOURS OF WORK! THAT’S HALF OF MY USUAL SHIFT! FOR A ONE OUNCE JAR OF MOISTURIZER?!
combined with the $25 and $33 body butters that i reaaaaaaally like but would go through so fucking fast (because i like having soft skin!!!!)......like buddy, i’m so fucking glad i didn’t pick makeup and skincare as my fixations or interests lmfaooo. like, i have enough extra money that i COULD get one of these 3 products! as a treat! a one-time very luxurious special treat! but do i want to...

How to get rid of acne?
Introduction
Acne is a common skin condition that causes pimples and blemishes. If you have acne, it can be hard to get rid of. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to help treat your acne without resorting to harsh chemicals or treatments that might cause other side effects. Nowadays various anti-acne kits are available in the market. Here's how:
Cleanse twice a day
The first step to getting rid of acne is cleansing your face twice a day. Use a mild cleanser and follow these tips:
Choose a non-harsh cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.
Make sure you wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water, then dry off completely before applying moisturizer or makeup on top of it. This can prevent breakouts from happening when you reapply products later on down the road!
Exfoliate once a week to unclog pores
Exfoliating is an essential step in clearing your skin. You can use a scrub with salicylic acid or glycolic acid to help clear up acne, as well as microbeads, sea salt, and sugar. Jojoba beads are also great for exfoliation because they contain anti-aging properties that moisturize your skin as well as unclog pores.
Wear sunscreen every day
Sunscreen is a must for anyone who wants to get rid of acne, but it's especially important if you have oily skin or are prone to breakouts. The best way to keep your face clear of scars is by applying an SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen with an anti-aging formula every morning before leaving the house—and then reapplying throughout the day if necessary! Don't forget: You should also protect your ears, neck, and hands as well (just like normal!).
Use products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide
Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are both beta hydroxy acids, which means they can help reduce the production of oil and inflammation on your skin. In addition to this, salicylic acid is also an antibacterial agent that kills bacteria that cause acne.
Both these products are available over-the-counter in many drugstores and supermarkets in different forms such as creams or lotions. However, it's important to note that you shouldn't apply them directly on your face since they may cause skin irritation as well as sun sensitivity (not cool). Try using them at night time before going out looking fresh! Always use the best acne scar removals products for treating acne and natural products give effective results within less time.
Don't sleep in your makeup.
If you have acne-prone skin, it's a good idea to avoid sleeping with all of your makeup on at once. You may be tempted to do so because it feels nice and clean, but if you don't use a good night moisturizer, the oils can clog up pores and irritate your face even more. Also: don't go out without washing your face first!
Use oil-free makeup and skin care products
You can use oil-free makeup and skin care products to help you get rid of acne. Oil may clog pores, causing them to become infected. This will make your acne worse because bacteria are more likely to grow in clogged pores.
Oil also causes breakouts by making the skin's surface look uneven, which triggers oil glands on the skin's surface that then produce more sebum (the natural oil found in human hair follicles). This extra sebum may flow out onto the face, causing pimples or blackheads.
Cleansing is the most important thing you can do to combat acne.
Cleansing is the most important thing you can do to combat acne. When you cleanse, it removes excess oil and dirt that can clog pores and cause breakouts. But don't worry: there are no harsh chemicals in cleansers like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid—they're just made to soothe sensitive skin.
Cleansing twice a day is crucial for fighting blemishes; make sure to wash your face in the morning (unless you have oily skin) and at night before bedtime.
Conclusion
We hope that you found this article helpful. Acne can be a very serious condition, but you can take steps to get rid of it by cleansing and exfoliating regularly, applying salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products twice a day, wearing sunblock every day, and using oil-free makeup.

"Vil, a student from Pomefiore just glitter bombed me. Apparently, I was too bland looking so they decided to "make me sparkle" "
Cue Yu coated from head to toe in Glitter. The prefect was not amused, and his eye was twitching in annoyance
"Would it be wrong of me to hunt them down and exchange their makeup for drug store knock offs"
If it isn’t one thing, it’s another.  Turning his attention from his conversation with his manager via text message to ... a spectacle of a prefect standing before him, Vil’s eyes flick down then back up as his expression contorts.  “ I don’t know which is worse, the fact that you’re accusing one of my students in such a manner or the fact that you couldn’t be bothered to clean up a little before tracking all of this into my dorm. ”
Tumblr media
Sighing, Vil rose from his spot in the lounge.  “ I wouldn’t exactly fault them for that, either, considering you could get a new look... Fufufu...— ” Not like this, however. Despite the Queen finding some amusement in this.
“ I can admire your desire for revenge — but I can’t let you just jeopardize my students skin with drugstore products like that. Messing with their complexion is a step further compared to messing with clothes which can easily be resolved. ” And don’t get any ideas with tampering with their dorm uniforms.
“ Blemished skin will take a while to correct again and I won’t jeopardize that when a photoshoot can be happening at short notice. ” They’re grown enough to know how to approach petty behavior.  “ Ugh, you’re sparkling all over my floors. Couldn’t you have had this conversation on a broomstick out the balcony? ”
