Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!!
There are a few items on this planet that are remembered as "fairground food" such as the corn dog, the turkey leg, and the giant pickle. But for this post, we are looking for something a bit sweeter. We are looking for...cotton candy! As we know it today, cotton candy debuted as "Fairy Floss" concocted by the paradoxical dream team of a confectioner and a dentist. It was sold in boxes then shown off at the 1904 St. Louis World's fair to a grateful populace. But what is cotton candy? Sugar! Flavored and colored sugar spun around in a special machine that turns it into thin floaty wisps and combined into one fluffy pillow of sweetness. How can you go wrong with that? Well, I'm not sure but regardless, cotton candy, fairy floss, sugar spider, dragon's beard, old ladies' hair, whatever you call it, it's wonderful all the same.
P.S. Maple sugar cotton candy is the best cotton candy.
P.S.S. My brother used to be fond of cotton candy ice cream.
P.S.S.S. I kind of miss fairgrounds and amusement parks right now.
P.S.S.S.S. Don't know if there were any points to these anecdotes but I typed them all the same. They did have to do with cotton candy so I think that is enough. Anyway, cotton candy, wonderful, bye now!
P.S.S.S.S.S. I just remembered/realized that cotton candy can look very pretty. This pleases me.
