I finally got my credit score after working 8-10 months towards it!! No collections so my score was a whopping 770 when it came out this feb, and later... just one month later it DROPPED 70 pts!!! What gives!?!?

Lol come to find out... my secure account allows me to spend 1,000 but the credit bureaus only WANT me to spend I think around 25-35% of that MONTHLY... even if my payments are never late and always early.

Lol I’m going to need to extend my secure balance limit because baaaaby I spend more than 300$ a month. Well live and learn I guess. Hopefully next month it will pop back up now that I’m using my credit appropriately.

Looking for other ways to improve my score. May take out another secure line of credit.

Advice is welcome!

Joint Accounts Can Be a Credit Score Nightmare

I am often asked whether it is a good idea to have joint accounts with spouses, partners, siblings, fiancés, boyfriends, girlfriends, children, and more. My immediate answer is no. The reason being if there is a delinquency it will show up on both parties’ credit, even though usually only one of the two is in charge of paying. If the account payer forgets, discards, or just does not make the payment it becomes a problem for all. If they default on the loan, line, or credit card then both parties are responsible for the debt. How many times do couples or business partnerships end? We all know the answer. If credit is kept separate as much as possible it will benefit both parties down the road. Even couples that stay together can benefit because if income has diminished one person's credit can be sacrificed while the others is protected. This can make a tough time a little easier on all fronts.
