Jayfeather

taking a quick break from request cats, surprisingly to do a main character. i just got an idea for a Jayfeather design based on a Steller's jay and wanted to try it. i figure i can tweak or redo this design later if i want to.

overall i think it's pretty good! he has a dandelion for Lionblaze and a holly for Hollyleaf.

i don't really have any strong feelings on Jayfeather tbh. i hate jayhalf though. cause like, the reincarnation plot is dumb, and i don't care what the Erins say, Half Moon was in love with Jay's Wing, not Jayfeather. personally, i would like to know more about Jay's wing outside of Jayfeather possessing him y'know?

i’ve been trying to organize my thoughts on crowfeather’s trial into something coherent

i really enjoyed the experience of reading it! one of the best super editions, certainly the best modern super edition (that i’ve read)

but i can also see where some people would be disappointed by the resolution of the character arcs… but i’m a little bit biased since i’ve always enjoyed the idea of a breezepelt redemption arc in theory, even if it was a bit rushed in practice. also the fandom was so misogynistic towards nightcloud for no damn reason, she gets to be portrayed as a #girlboss, as a treat.

my one main gripe is having ashfoot around holding crowfeather’s hand through the process of making amends with his family kind of cheapens the message of the book. the message probably would have been stronger if she weren’t literally sending him spooky nightmare dreams to guilt him into hanging out with his kid..? but oh well!

i also think it’s really funny how the great battle was suuuuper rushed and a bit of a letdown in execution (the three didn’t even use their powers in a meaningful way???) but the stories following the immediate aftermath of the great battle have been some of my personal favorite in warriors canon.
