I fancy a boogie. Come on.
Chas brings young Aaron to Katie and Andy’s wedding reception. Robert and Aaron in their ONLY shared time on classic. Aaron, even at that age, had no desire to dance 😂.

Die Gärtnerin von Versailles (2014)
Tumblr media

The Endeavour/Captain America connection
This is just to check that fellow Endeavour fans are all aware that Leander Deeny who played Louis in "Quartet" (ie one of the two annoying posh secret agents who bother Morse) was Chris Evans body double in Captain America: the First Avenger, and also played a barman, I think in the scene with the epic "you're keeping the outfit, right?" slash scene between Steve and Bucky (though I may be misremembering).
So yes, if you've seen the Steve Rogers transformation scene, the smol "before" bare chest belongs to an Endeavour secret agent actor.
(I have been keeping an informal mental record of major sci-fi fantasy properties of the last thirty years or so (radio, tv, film)[1] which have Endeavour actors in and as far as I can tell it is basically all of them. Possibly not entirely all, but not far off. I might make a full list at some point of everyone I can find, though mostly just to entertain myself with my ridiculous cast list nerdery as I'm not sure who else would be interested! Anton Lesser's habit of playing a villain in pretty much everything helps (and when he isn't it's Roger Allam or Danny Webb), plus of course Anton's in most of the radio Pratchett/Discworld adaptations, but I mean we do also have Lyra Belaqua and Lestat and Jesper and Genya and Alfred Pennyworth and one of the iterations of Miss Hardbroom and a radio Granny Weatherwax and and and. ;-) Leander Deeny handily brings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though there are probably other useful overlaps there; I've honestly lost track!)
[1] excluding the one whose profits fund far right transphobia in the uk, obviously. Naturally I do not go there.

A bit late with this, but how about: Ocean: Coral 1, Orion: Green 1, Jack: Silver 1, Lily: Silver 3, Skylar: Blue 5, Danny: Green 4, and Diane: Blue 1, if you like?
Ocean
Coral 1: Does your OC rejoice in the successes of their friends? Or do they sometimes feel envious or insecure when those around them achieve great things or win the plaudits of others?
Oooo this is actually quite on par with the ideas I've been playing with for her. I think she actually struggles with feeling a little...behind everyone? Especially compared to her brother. She feels like she's kind of out of place and isn't where she is "supposed" so be? So, while I think she tries to be supportive when someone else accomplishes something, deep down she is pretty insecure about it and feels even more behind or left out in a sense (and in all honestly, she isn't really fooling Orion, because he knows her so well)
Orion
Green 1: How honest is your OC with their friends? Do their friends see them as inscrutable and difficult to get to know? Or as an open book - someone with their heart on their sleeve perhaps? Is the assessment of your OC's friends or companions completely accurate in this regard?
Hmmm, I feel like he generally tries to be pretty open and honest, though I think he is a little wary about making others feel bad. He wants them to feel supported and cared for, so sometimes he can cover over his emotions a little if he thinks it might hurt someone (even if it would actually be better if he was honest). In general, most people think he is pretty open, and pretty easy to befriend, which is fairly accurate. Though it is possible that some people might kind of wonder if he is actually as okay with things as he says he is, but good luck finding that out lol
Jack
Silver 1: What quality has forged the strongest bonds of friendship for your OC? Shared values or beliefs? Time spent together working towards a common aim? Complimentary skills or personalities? Or perhaps just absolutely hating the same things?
Haha well, this is kind of funny because Jack is very loyal to his fellow acting dorm kids, even if he doesn't know them super well (with a few exceptions, usually based on the vibes he gets from them haha). So common interests is honestly probably the biggest way he bonds with people. However, I do think (while Jack would deny it), he may bond deeper with people he can relate to on a...trauma basis? Like, other people who have gone through things where he kind of understands and relates to the emotional trauma of said thing (for example, him and his sister both had trauma and they grew closer because of it)
Lily
Silver 3: What has been the greatest test of their friendship with a close companion or ally? Did the relationship survive this? If so, then what helped in repairing that connection? If not, then did they let the friendship go without regret?
Oof well...uh...she did have some...deep hurt by her previous boyfriend and friend group from her last school (as a sophomore). He basically dumped her when the girl he was actually interested in asked him out (he was dating Lily just to make the other girl jealous). And in the process, her friend group kind of just...ignored her after that. So, she didn't really have much say in the matter, and in the midst of it she...really hated it. But now she can see that, while it was awful, they weren't really her friends and she's better off with the friends she has now.
Skylar
Blue 5: What is an example of a time your OC had to overcome a fear or insecurity for the sake of a friend or ally? Did the person concerned know what they had needed to surmount? Was it appreciated, if not at the time, then in retrospect?
Oooo...man, I don't know if it quite fits but...her whole redemption arc kind of involved this kind of thing? She had to face up to her manipulation and pain she had caused others, especially one of her close friends, Manny. And also accept the consequences of trust and friendship not being immediately restored. Thankfully, after some time, her and Manny rebuilt their friendship and are close once again.
Danny
Green 4: Does your OC believe that honest communication is essential in order to have trust in a friend or ally? Have they ever been betrayed or let down in this regard? Did that relationship ever recover?
Oh BOY! All of these are hitting on some of my characters major story arcs haha. Danny does like people to be honest with him, though he usually is pretty understanding if the topic is hard. Though he's probably a little more sensitive to it now because he found out a year ago (the story of Burley follows real time) that his biological dad is a famous musician. It kind of shook his world, and despite never really caring about the information before, it felt kind of like a break of trust between him and his mom. Lots of complicated feelings for him. Danny kind of...ignored it for a while but finally his step-dad talked to him and him and his mom talked too. I think they are still working on rebuilding trust but it is getting better.
Diane
Blue 1: Is your OC one to lead from the front? Or are they more the follower in their group of friends or companions?
She definitely has leader vibes. If she likes or respects someone (big props to you if you accomplish that cause it's not easy lol) she might concede to let them lead. But she prefers to make her own decisions and take the lead, or at least play a significant role in decisions. (which explains why she is so pissed at her parents for making her go to a school she doesn't want to go too oops)

Saw National Theatre's King Lear ( 2018 ) weeks ago, with Ian McKellen as King Lear. And I cannot get him out of my head.
It's my first time seeing King Lear and I sympathize with Gloucester so much, after seeing his suffering, and his brutal mutilation on stage. The way Danny Webb plays him is so commanding yet fragile , once he's out of position of authority.
Not me looking him up right after the play 🙈

I just wanna stay here and hang with you and granddad. Is that alright?
Chas is in bit of a bad mood because Aaron is making a very rare appearance. Chloe is chock full of lies about how great of a mum Chas is. Aaron wanting to hang with Shadrach and Chas at home (not go into Hotten) and of course play poker again with Shadrach (he’s improved a lot since last time apparently). Chas and Aaron have an unfriendly run in with Carl’s wife, Colleen.

Main or main-ish cast Morseverse actors I’ve seen live onstage over the years...
(NB: from what I remember.)
- Roger Allam (as Falstaff in Henry IVs and as Prospero in The Tempest <3 )
- Clare Holman (as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, opposite Michael Maloney (who guested in Lewis!) as Romeo)
- Danny Webb (in a play by Ben Elton that I actually hated but he was very good in it)
(I’ve inevitably seen more in recorded versions of plays! Especially Jack Laskey who has a delightful tendency to frequent the Globe and be amazing. And I’ve seen a significant number more guest actors live, including Robert Stephens and Jane Lapotaire.)
I need more of the Endeavour cast to come up to Scotland for some theatre productions at some point. ;-) And I’d love to see Roger live again one day. :-)
