On July 24, 1860 was born in the town of Ivancice, Moravia (today's region of Czech Republic), Alphonse Mucha, a Moravian painter, illustrator and graphic artist
👉 Alphonse Mucha: La Primevere & La Plume
Art Nouveau, 1899, Alfons Mucha - 'La Primevere' ('The Primrose', left) and 'La Plume' ('The Feather', right) - These symbolic figures, complete with Mucha's customary aureoles around their heads and filigree diadems in their hair, comprise one of his best decorative panel sets.

👉 The master of the Art Nouveau movement, Alphonse Mucha created what we now consider to be the Art Nouveau style.
Borne out of a period where mass-produced good were becoming increasingly common but were also increasingly ugly, Mucha's approach made beautiful art images available cheaply.
This was intended to break down the invisible lines between the elite and the public and art and commerce. Much of Mucha's work, including this piece, was used commercially to advertise everything from cigarette papers to biscuits to liquor bottles.
His intricate decorations blended in with his drawings to create something stylishly unique.
This image was created in 1899 as part of a set of two lithographic panels eventually called 'Primrose and Feather.' The title harks back to a story written by the Brothers Grimm in 1807.
In the story the eponymous two sisters suffer the loss of their father and both are left grieving. One of the two- Feather- rejects numerous suitors and then runs away to the forest to forget her troubles.
She gets lost there, then encounters a sorcerer who turns her into a white swan.
After time has passed her sister Primrose goes to save her from this plight, eventually using a net to capture the sorcerer disguised as a black swan and thus freeing her sibling from her plight.
Mucha's 'Feather' reflects this story, with the still whiteness of the female depicted creating a distant sensuality, just as the story tells of a distant and unobtainable woman.
The woman's bouquet of foliage and a feather is another clue to her story, although told in a typical Mucha style. This image was also used in posters advertising the J Royer printing company -

Custom Stretched Canvases: How to pick the ideal custom stretched canvas?
Oil paintings, and that can be original pieces of art, possess a number of advantages over mass produced framed and matted prints. While limited edition prints, autographed and numbered by the artist, therefore are valuable and collectible prints that is seen in virtually any dwelling goods or decoration keep are produced and have no value beyond that of the framework along with mat. About the flip side, stretch canvas paintings hold their value and quality over the years; they are versatile, dramatically fashionable and remarkably affordable.Prints can yellow and deteriorate with age, however acrylic paintings are highly durable and can hold their shade and quality when properly kept and retained out of direct sunlight or strong artificial light. Oil paintings that are kept and exhibited in a low-humidity environment and at a temperature, that will be average to the majority of residential and commercial preferences, will endure for generations. Canvas oil paintings are original artwork which can be handed down from 1 generation to the next.Oil paintings have a very depth and dimension that can't be seen in mass produced prints. They have feel and layers of nuance which create sure they are individualistic because each canvas is painted by hand. Whether the artist chooses to paint conventional renderings these as portraits and landscapes or summary contemporary canvases, an acrylic painting can bring unique artistic and style intensity to some space. The most nature of an oil painting which makes it a more timeless and also wellchosen center thing which may enhance any cosmetic style.Paintings and prints are traditionally framed and framed, with the frame enhancing and replicate the style of the painting. Frameless stretch canvas paintings present a remarkable and new approach for showing pieces of art, whether the painting's subject is contemporary or traditional. The sides of the stretch canvas painting are all painted to match the background of their painting, and they also got. The frame-less demonstration brings dimension and depth with a presence, with no frame buffering the painting's visible impact. Stretch framed canvas paintings three or four panels offer you alternatives for display and arrangement that will accentuate surfaces or generate a unique focus. The panels might be employed or enmasse to decor. Frameless canvas acrylic paintings are frequently less expensive than framed prints, even at which all of the markup enters the frame , and they are undoubtedly less expensive than styled first works of art. You'll locate frame less canvas oil paintings in every selling prices out of online and retail origins as well as in demonstrations that'll add a radically one of a kind invoice into some area, whether cosmetic influences prefer traditional or contemporary sources. They state a picture paints a thousand words? We consent, and when your talking modern wall graphics for the house you cant go far wrong than considering a canvas artwork. Additionally, there is an abundance of canvas art on the web galleries small and big out there - all of them offering various solutions at various rates. The following informative post is targeted toward providing a balanced view of what is hot and what isn't at the wonderful world of canvases. We expect these somewhat abstract phrases of knowledge will help you in your search to pick out a excellent canvas impress to get yourself.A picture printing, also called a extended canvas or canvas artwork, may be that the result of a graphic printed onto a canvas that's elongated, or gallery wrapped onto a frame as well as shown. Many sellers offer canvas art. Stretched canvas takes the headache from the process for your buyer. The canvas will likely be'wall prepared' outside of this shipping vessel. But frequently you are able to save yourself a little bit of dollars buy requesting the own canvas printing to become shipped unframed, your printing will probably arrive in a tube and then you will should hand build a framework before hanging out. I would recommend investing in a modest extra of your hard-won cash for getting your canvas printing framed. This way your leaving it for the pros to get what they do best.Historically reproductions of unique artwork have been printed onto canvas for many decades together with what's commonly referred as offset printing in the commerce. In the past few years that the industry has recently now exploded with all the growing popularity of printers and electronic photographic apparatus. Significant format printers may publish to large sizes as much as sixty inches in diameter. This size and scale of picture printing has meant that an almost endless scope for design and decoration of both photographic images and artwork. Nowadays, Head into some contemporary restaurant and also you may nearly guarantee that you may discover an immense macro focused image of this chef's latest culinary delight. The increase of the internet in the digital age has had huge effects for those professional services which canvas art shops can offer to their buyers. Online 2.0 has meant creation of user generated applications programs that permit everyone to load up photos, do essential effects to all those pictures and reproduce them as Photograph art prints. Many online canvas art vendors do nothing other than produce art created by consumers of their websites. Others have huge artwork catalogues that might be reproduced'on demand' for customers rather. We recommend when considering that company order your canvas artwork out of check their delivery programs. Some supply services within 48 hours others 2 weeks! Go for the 48 hour selection as a week can often run unto weeks since the task builds up within chaotic periods. The process of decorating a contemporary canvas print takes expertise and skill to attain a professional excellent finish. Be certain the print is tightly stretched over around the sides of the box stretcher framework whenever you obtain it. Good stretcher frames will probably likely be professionally, accurately cut with a sloping profile which minimises contact with the front face of the canvas, steering clear of the impression marks. With this incline you will find that over years in place of months the belief indicates eventually become so awful as to destroy the true canvas film. They should also be elastic, supplied with tensioning wedges in every inside corner that can be exploited in slightly allowing occasional re-tightening of the canvas. To choose the perceived risk out from the'purchasing canvas artwork' equation look for sellers offering no money back guarantees subsequent reception for a time period. Not only can you check out the caliber against that which we recommend within this report however, you may even'stay with' the picture wall artwork to get a few times to check it fits your wall décor and modern furnishings. So which sort of canvas art seller is most useful I hear you cry? We do not have a answer for this matter but we still now have a few ideas on things to watch out for. Many wall canvas sellers encounter from a printing background... wonderful you could think, what could go wrong? Well have a think, and take a have a look and examine it with additional canvas sellers. You will see a few similarities since they'll probably acquire images from stock photography sellers. As an item of'artwork' these picture prints will probably be worthless over the long term. Because there is no artist they deficiency just a little ethics because they'll be limited editions accepted by the artist! Look out for advice on musicians, limited edition numbers and thus forth, this is usually a great sign for the wellbeing of value for your own canvas wall artwork. Make sure your canvas artwork retailer has one foot in the printing industry and the other dipped into the art realm reef! As canvas continues to acquire popularity at the fine art and photographic digital printing industry, the multitude of brands and varieties will last and flood flooding industry in an attempt to make the most with this increasingly desirable consumable. Current market research indicates that inkjet canvas is now selling three times longer than inkjet paper, which traditionally, never become the circumstance. This swing in market trends implies that artwork consumers are impressed with the aesthetic allure and novelty of digitally printed custom canvas since it's a relatively new, yet logical moderate for fine art reproduction. As an entrepreneur running a print making business, picking an inkjet canvas that will probably soon likely function as the base for your reputation and long term success minus the collection of possibilities, can be a daunting or even impossible job. Regardless, it's the duty of the printmaker to comprehend and examine custom canvas to source the highest quality to ensure sustainable-revenue and also the integrity for their enterprise. Therefore the purpose of this report will be to provide printmakers together with the proper tools to evaluate inkjet canvas based upon general data and quantifiable attributes; in an attempt to produce higher-quality, more-archival, and more sellable fine art custom canvas prints. In order to properly assess inkjet canvas for the printmaking firm, a number of criteria must be assessed and considered. This criterion might be simplified to four principal classes: decorative appeal, endurance, production/business practicality, along with also brand institution. Analyzing multiple brand names and forms of inkjet canvas is the very best thing that you can perform for the small business enterprise, your customers, and the fine art industry as a total . That being said, the first thing that you'll want to do in order to begin is buy sample cloth out of several prominent inkjet canvas makers. Make this article are the checklist or guide to walk you although the major test process. This group was listed above most others since it's the single most essential aspect for assessing your chief,"residence" ink-jet canvas. The simple fact is that this is the fine art industry and if you are the artist, a gallery operator, a writer, or a printmaker, the ultimate worldwide aim is to promote artwork. Art is mainly sold like a result of its aesthetic appeal and also also the derivative of this image demonstration. To put it differently, the larger your own prints seem, the greater your artists will probably promote, which can naturally lead in printing business. If the artists that you publish for are certain which you're reproducing their work from the absolute most aesthetically appealing fashion and this is reflected in their printing earnings, you can make sure that they can continue to employ your services. On the flip side, if the artist decides to search round or happens to come in contact with an alternative printmaker who's obviously producing superior inkjet canvas prints, then the artist is going to undoubtedly likely be gone in a minute. The single means to be sure you are producing probably the most aesthetically appealing inkjet canvas prints, is to try out various ink-jet canvases for colour gamut, Dmax (optical density), resolution, feel, and burden reduction Why don't we attentively consider every one of these features individually.Color Gamut - In this competitive industry only offering great color reproduction isn't enough. You need to give the best shade reproduction. Even though precise color gamut dimension tools, like a Colorimeter or even spectrophotometer may and needs to be used when available, the nude eye is generally adequate to tell apart a more superior custom canvas canvas. Print a color target, that is composed of a few different color stains, on every single inkjet canvas which you're analyzing. Use these aims to evaluate every individual color to figure out which custom colour produces the best colour gamut. It is also recommended to print the exact very same, vibrant image on each custom canvas and also determine that produces one of the very vibrant colors. To find added details on this please view publisher site. Dmax can be a measure of utmost density of a image's shade but specifically its black density. Again, the most precise dimensions might be obtained with a densitometer, but also the nude eye will suffice if this equipment is not available for your requirements personally. When discussing paper and inks, D-Max is commonly defined as the blackest. Black density is in analyzing the quality of paper, ink, inkjet canvas, and also even printmakers potentially one of the most discernable feature. Thus attaining the blackest black possible are absolutely the absolute most critical factor for each fine art printmaker. Inside this industry, like colour gamut, presenting unions is not enough. You want to offer you the blackest blacks possible.Resolution - This identifies into the smallest discernable pixels or dots, commonly measured as dpi or dots per inch. In connection with fine art reproduction, it's a measurement of the"fineness" of depth in a published image. Resolution is really just a crucially important feature simply since devoid of"fineness" and detail, image quality is compromised. No matter how accurate your hues will be or your black can be if the image appears blurry in the place of tidy and sharp, you may have decreased as its perceived price will be negatively affected by it, your chances of marketing that printing. This will dissuade the artist out of obtaining true market value for his do the job, which will cause one to the printmaker to drop small business to a rival who uses a canvas with superior resolution. It should be said that custom made canvases with excess texture may compromise resolution and must really be averted. The extreme slopes and valleys at the canvas texture can bring about ink into"bleed", or run, which can blur second aspects of an printed image.Texture - The best feel of inkjet yarn is the one that is going to exude an all natural custom canvas appearance, with no compromising resolution or reducing the amount of viewable angels in that your art might be valued. The latter results from any type of glossy finish onto a highly textured custom canvas. The end result is that a"glowing" affect due to light reflecting off of those glistening peaks and valleys of this reflective inkjet canvas. Sparkling ink-jet canvas prints no longer take about the attributes of a first painting that causes art consumers to perceive them cheap reproductions. In an industry driven by quality and allure, cheap reproductions won't promote and will likely undoubtedly also be detrimental to your printmakers' reputation. All things considered, even should a inkjet canvas is an obvious leader in color gamut, D Max, and resolution, it could have excess feel that alone can compromise caliber. So, texture that is excess should be tested for by printmakers. This is sometimes done in 2 manners. First, print images with depth and search to get a deficiency of crispness and picture cleanliness . Work with a semi-glossy or glossy post-print protective coating and search for amazing when light reflects off the surface. It is crucial to keep in your mind that texture is a subjective characteristic . As a printmaker, it is recommended to advise your customers to make a texture conclusion based upon objective information which could improve the sale ability of the prints rather than attempt to deliver particular custom canvas textures to attract each and every artist's private preference.Longevity identifies how long a inkjet canvas print can continue until it starts to noticeably deteriorate. This is an absolutely critical element in deciding on which inkjet canvas to use for the business. In order to appropriately tag your self a"fine art printmaker", you need to produce fine artwork prints. By definition, fine art prints are all expected to keep up their structure for decades. Fine artwork prints that deteriorate in the short-term assert no significance and were fact, not fine art prints to begin with. So, longevity has to be taken under consideration in every printmaker business plan as attempting to sell prints will without a doubt subscribe to the passing of your future company in the fine art industry.

Introduction to Injection Mold Verification
Injection molding is one of the most commonly used production processes for plastics. This is rightly so as it offers a viable solution for the mass production of high-quality injection automotive parts from a broad range of polymers. In the automotive industry, where consistency, safety, and quality are of utmost importance, automotive plastic injection molding is an important manufacturing process.
This article will be discussing automotive plastic injection molding from various aspects, including its history, advantages, applications, alternative solutions, and materials. Swipe down and read on!
In the early days of the automotive industry, cars were made almost entirely of metal, which meant they were clunky and extremely heavy. However, the industry became advanced and the plastics market erupted in the 1940s and 50s. Therefore, automotive manufacturers began to experiment with plastic car parts in their production.
In the 1970s, manufacturers rolled out the first cars with plastic decorative elements. Later in the 80s, they also introduced more functional parts like plastic headlights, bumpers, and fenders.
In the early 2000s, automotive manufacturers unveiled the first plastic structural components for cars, which had the advantage of being more lightweight than their metal counterparts, unlocking improved fuel efficiency and cheaper production. Today, injection molding is now a dominant production method for manufacturing plastic car parts in the automotive industry.
Injection molding is an established production process in which automotive mould manufacturers inject molten plastic materials into a mold cavity. The melted plastic then cools and hardens, and the manufacturers extract the finished part. Though the mold design process is critical and challenging (a poorly designed mold can result in defects), injection molding itself is a reliable method for producing solid plastic parts with a high-quality finish.
Here are a few reasons why the process is beneficial for automotive plastic parts production:
1. Repeatability
In the automotive industry, repeatability—or the ability to consistently produce identical parts—is crucial. Because automotive plastic injection molding typically relies on robust metal molds, the final molded automotive parts produced using the mold are practically identical. Some factors come into play with injection molding, but injection molding is a highly repeatable process if the mold has a good design and finishing.
2. Scale and Cost
The injection mold-making process can be an expensive process due to the cost of the mold. However, it remains a highly scalable process whose overall cost decreases as the manufacturer makes more parts. For mass production applications, injection molding is thus beneficial to the manufacturer. For anything less than mass production, however, injection molding tooling costs may curb the cost efficiency of the process.
3. Material Availability
A significant benefit of using injection molding for automotive production is the wide range of rigid, flexible, and rubber plastics the process is compatible with. Manufacturers use a wide range of different polymers for various applications in the automotive industry, including ABS, polypropylene, acrylic, acetal, nylon, polycarbonate, and more.
4. High Precision and Surface Finish
Injection molding is ideal for producing plastic parts with relatively simple geometries and results in high surface finish quality. Manufacturers have many finish options when producing parts, including various surface textures—such as glossy, rough, or matte—which they apply directly to the automotive exterior mould rather than the molded part. However, different plastic materials also influence the final surface finish.
5. Color Options
In automotive plastic injection molding, it is easy to modify the colors of molded automotive parts to fit the vehicle’s color scheme. Unlike other processes, injection molding allows you to mix dyes with the raw material pellets before manufacturing begins. This produces solid, consistent coloration without the need for painting or tinting after the molding is complete.
6. Fast Prototypes with Rapid Tooling
Although automotive manufacturers widely use injection molding for mass production of auto parts, they also use it as a prototyping tool. By creating fast, low-cost aluminum molds with rapid tooling — usually by additive manufacturing or CNC machining — automotive mold manufacturers can turn around short runs of prototype molded car components much faster than traditional (steel) tooling.
For the past two decades or so, many under-the-hood components that manufacturers formerly made from metal have been transitioned to plastic. For these applications, robust polymers such as ABS, Nylon, and PET are common. However, manufacturers now make parts such as cylinder head covers and oil pans using injection molding. This method offers lower weights and costs compared to metal parts.
Injection molding is an established process for many exterior automotive components, including fenders, grilles, bumpers, door panels, floor rails, light housings, and more. Splash guards are a fine example for demonstrating the durability of injection molded parts. In addition, the components, which protect the car from road debris and minimize splashing, are often made from rubber or other durable and flexible materials.
In many cases, molded plastics serve as an alternative to metals. Formerly, manufacturers make items like brackets, trunk lids, seatbelt modules, and air-bag containers exclusively from metal. Nowadays, injection molding is the preferred production method for these plastics.
On the other hand, manufacturers can sometimes replace molded plastic parts with 3D-printed plastic car parts. This happens especially in prototyping, where there is less need for extreme durability or a smooth surface finish. Many moldable plastics can serve as FDM 3D printer filaments or as SLS 3D printer powders for nylons. Some specialist and high-temp 3D printers can also print reinforced composites for high-strength parts.
At RapidDirect, we offer professional injection molding services, delivering mass-produced plastic car parts to clients in the automotive and other industries. Our services include thermoplastic injection molding, over-molding, insert molding, and mold making. In the latter case, our experts work with clients to produce high-quality molds for prototyping or large production runs.
We also work with a wide range of plastic injection materials, including strong, heat resistant, and rigid thermoplastics; flexible, fast curing thermoplastics; and durable, high-temperature rubber plastics. Our professional automotive plastic injection molding services enable our automotive clients to obtain high-quality molded automotive parts that meet their application requirements.
Rapid Tooling processes are developing and proving to be a reliable method to compete with subtractive techniques for tool making. This paper investigates large volume production of components produced from Selective Laser Melting (SLM) fabricated injection moulding tool inserts. To date, other researchers have focused primarily on investigating the use of additive manufacturing technology for injection moulding for low-volume component production rather than high volume production. In this study, SLM technology has been used to fabricate four Stainless Steel 316L tool inserts of a similar geometry for an after-market automotive spare part. The SLM tool inserts have been evaluated to analyse the maximum number of successful injections and quality of performance. Microstructure inspection and chemical composition analysis have been investigated. Performance tests were conducted for the four tool inserts before and after injection moulding in the context of hardness testing and dimensional accuracy. For the first reported time, 150,000 injected products were successfully produced from the four SLM tool inserts. Tool inserts performance was monitored under actual operating conditions considering high-level demands. In the scope of this research, SLM proved to be a dependable manufacturing technique for most part geometries and an effective alternative to subtractive manufacturing for high-volume injection moulding tools for the aftermarket automotive sector.
At this point of the process, we’ve released our designs to our vendor and molds build has started. The time we have now could vary from 3–4 weeks to 20 weeks or more, depending on the household mould and part. During this time, there are two things we should do:
Time control. It is quite common that the container mould maker will send a bi-weekly report with detailed progress regarding the mold manufacturing. You may want to look only that the first trial, T1, is as promised, but you may also want to monitor the progress to predict delays. For that, you may need a professional who has a deep understanding of the steps of mold manufacturing.
Regroup and start preparing for T1. We have the time to look back into our plans and check if we covered all bases, if we defined all we wanted to, and if we covered operation issues such as raw materials for the testing, as well as double checking that the mold maker has the latest part drawings, etc.
I’ll explain how I see the difference between T0 and T1.
The first stage before injection of the plastic that will form into parts is to see that the mold works. This is what I call T0. This is the first time the mold maker mounts the mold on the injection machine and sees that the moving elements move well, that the plastic melt flows well, that the cooling performs, and more. Just like every car manufacturer will have a “dry run” of the car before it is driven out of the assembly hanger, the mold maker should ensure this machine performs its basic functions before handing samples for examining.
If the mold performs well in T0, then this test can be called T1 because we have samples. However, T1 samples might not (or, in some predefined cases, should not) be within the final dimensions; the surface finish is not final; and we may have visual marks, flashes, and mismatches. That being said, the samples are a milestone with two main aspects: one is that the mold maker delivered a mold — a tool, a machine — that can produce the parts we had up until now only as a CAD file, 2D drawings, and models. The other is that the developer gets the queue to initiate the final stage of the product development, what we call the “T1 to T-final” (the well-known Tf) phase, which is the “money time” of our project.
To clarify, this stage is not a chair mould process validation (installation qualification, operational qualification, performance qualification). This is the stage in which we aim to achieve a verified, stable part that will qualify our definitions. Once we get that, we may initiate mold performance validation.

Material Research.
Balsa wood: AKA the “miracle material”.
It has the best strength-to-weight ratio of any other readily available material. Not only is it known for its high strength and low density, it can be easily shaped, sanded, glued, and painted. It is also non-toxic, biodegradable, and absorbs shocks and vibrations well.
It grows fast; an average of 60 to 90 feet tall in 6 to 10 years,
Typically, balsa is identified in two ways. The first is by the density of the wood. The denser the wood, the stronger and harder it is. Densities cans range from 80 to 320 kg/m^3, with 160 to 192 kg/m^3 considered being medium weight. Extremely lightweight balsa with a density under 96.1 kg/m^3 is considered “contest grade” and is used on competition models where mass must be kept to a minimum and where durability is not a top priority. The second way to classify balsa is by its grain pattern, which is determined by how it was cut from the log of the tree. Grain direction determines the rigidity or flexibility of a balsa sheet more than density does. For example, if the sheet is cut from the log so that the tree’s annular rings run across the thickness of the sheet (called “A-grain”), the sheet will be fairly flexible edge to edge. If, on the other hand, it is cut with the annular rings running through the thickness of the sheet (C-grain), quarter grain, it will be very rigid edge to edge. When grain direction is less clearly defined (B-grain), the sheet will have properties intermediate between A and C grain. B grain is the most common and is suitable for most jobs.
A-GRAIN sheet balsa has long fibres that show up as long grain lines. It is very flexible across the sheet and bends around curves easily.
B-GRAIN sheet has some of the qualities of both A and type C. Grain lines are shorter than type A, and it feels stiffer across the sheet. It is general purpose sheet and can be used for many jobs.
C-GRAIN sheet balsa has a beautiful mottled appearance. Some people say it looks like fish scales. it is very stiff across the sheet and if bent it splits easily.

Acrylic:
Most acrylics are polymers of methyl methacrylate (PMMA). Acrylic can be optically clear or cloudy, as in the case of impact modified acrylics.
Excellent optical clarity    Excellent weatherability and resistance to sunlight    Rigid, with good impact strength    Excellent dimensional stability and low mould shrinkage    Stretch forming increases bi-axial toughness
Poor solvent resistance; attacked especially by ketone’s, esters, chlorocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons, freons    Subject to stress cracking    Combustible    Continuous service temperature limited to about 200 F degrees    Flexible grades unavailable
Transparent items such as lenses, automotive trim, household items, light fixtures, decorator items signage
The first applications were in WWII when it was used for submarine periscopes as well as airplane windows, turrets, and canopies
Thermoplastic materials become liquid at their melting point (160 degrees Celsius in the case of Acrylic). A major useful attribute about thermoplastics is that they can be heated to their melting point, cooled, and reheated again without significant degradation. Instead of burning, thermoplastics like Acrylic liquefy, which allows them to be easily injection moulded and then subsequently recycled.

Ply wood
Cons
1. Water can damage MR grade plywood 2. Can bend or sag when longer pieces are used. 3. Difficult to judge the quality of a plywood sheet. 4. Plywood usually needs additional enhancements 5. The edges also need to be covered with suitable pieces of wood. 6. Costlier compared to blockboards, or particle boards. 7. Manual and Time-consuming process. 8. The adhesives used may be ecologically damaging. 9. Not considered as strong as solid wood.
Plywood is an assemblage of wood veneers bonded together to produce a flat sheet. While it can be tailored to suit an extensive range of applications, the normal product consists of at least 3 plies, with the grain in the alternate plies running at right angles.
Pros 1.Increased Stability 2.High Impact resistance 3.Surface Dimensional stability 4.High Strength to weight ratio 5.Panel Shear 6.Chemical Resistance

MDF (medium density fibre board).
Medium density fibreboard, commonly abbreviated as MDF, is a man-made wooden material used for a variety of building purposes
MDF is made from wood fibres that are glued together with heat and pressure.
MDF board does not have a natural grain like most wood, because it is a manufactured wood product rather than a natural one. Because medium density fibreboard is fused and glued into a uniform panel, it is significantly easier to saw, lacking knots or a grain to consider.
Working with MDF can potentially be hazardous to your health
MDF is made through the use of urea-formaldehyde
MDF is strong, stiff and heavy; therefore, it is a little complicated to work with. The high glue content in the MDF causes steel cutting tools to dull easily and quickly. Thus, it’s best to use carbide tools when working with MDF. Use nails and screws to attach MDF pieces together; however, because of its strength, the wood may split and the fasteners will not hold well. To prevent this from happening always pre-drill holes for nails and screws.

Ethnotek Backpacks: The Company Preserving Traditional Textile Culture
Until 16th December, I’m running a giveaway for you to win your very own Ethnotek backpack! Keep reading to find out how to win…
I’m about to meet the founders of Ethnotek.
We’re approaching the entrance a little cafe just outside central Ubud when I see a distinctive backpack attached to a woman on a scooter. That’s how I know it’s Cori.
She turns, spots the matching backpack slung over my shoulder, and breaks into a wide smile.
“Flora! Hi!!”
Like a magician, Cori pulls four more Ethnotek bags from the trunk of her scooter and leads us upstairs. Her husband Jake arrives moments later, and together we put the world to rights over brunch and smoothies in the middle of Bali.
This is what happens when you follow a brand for years and finally get the chance to meet them.
What is Ethnotek all about?
Cori and Jake Orak are the founders of Ethnotek Backpacks, a socially responsible company making travel backpacks, camera bags, laptop cases and accessories.
But Ethnotek aren’t just any backpack company. There’s a whole lot more to their story.
In 2007, Jake was travelling around Vietnam by motorbike and kept noticing local artisans producing handmade textiles. He’d already worked as a bag designer for a large company that used mass-produced fabric – and he realised that Vietnam’s small-scale artisans could soon be destined to go out of business.
Luckily, those same artisans inspired him to think that:
“Integrating handmade ethnic textiles into high-quality functional bags could be a great way to bring stable income to artisan communities, with the intention of empowering the artisan communities to revive and sustain their craft as a result.”
Ethnotek began pretty quickly after that. Jake and his wife Cori’s travels became backpack-focused; orientated around finding villages they could potentially work with. By asking questions, visiting shops, meeting families and forming relationships with artisans before eventually offering to set up a working partnership, they established a network of artisan villages around the world.
They currently source textiles from artisan villages in five countries – India, Ghana, Vietnam, Indonesia and Guatemala.
Crucially, Ethnotek doesn’t dictate what textiles their partner villages will make. In fact, it’s the opposite, and the textiles featured on Ethnotek bags are chosen by the artisans themselves: their favourite patterns, or their most traditional.
In India, men work at pit looms to produce geometric patterns of embroidery. In Ghana, they use block prints with carved Ghanian motifs to decorate batik fabric. The women from a small mountain town in Guatemala carefully stretch cotton yarn over a wooden frame and knot it intricately before dying then finally weaving it on a handloom.
The Indonesians decorate batik dyed cotton with patterns derived from both classic East Asian architecture and from the weaving style used for roofs, walls and the floor mats rolled out in warungs across the country for people to sit on and eat together at night.
And in Vietnam, the Hmong women who live up in the Hoàng Liên Son mountains embroider pieces of linen with countless types of stitches in bright colours. They create an array of symbols and motifs from everyday life, all of which come together to tell the maker’s personal story.
Yet despite these methods passing down through generations, the textile traditions of these independent craftsmen and craftswomen are in danger of dying out.
Thanks to the speed and ease of creating machine-made products in factories on a mass scale, there is now much less demand for handmade fabrics, and there’s very little impetus to pass these skills on to future generations.
No matter how beautiful or historical these traditional textiles might be.
‘Threads’: introducing Ethnotek’s sustainability model
Ethnotek is a socially conscious business with a sustainable mission. They want to preserve these traditional crafts and support their artisan creators without being wasteful – which is how Jake came up with his self-described ‘eureka’ idea.
‘Threads’ are inter-changeable panels attached via velcro and buckles to the front of an Ethnotek Raja pack. They allow a customer to purchase just one backpack and then collect as many Threads as they’d like, changing the appearance of their pack each time. This keeps up demand for the handmade fabrics but minimises any negative impact – plus it becomes much easier to support more artisans, as people are more likely to buy a second Thread at half the cost of the backpacks they’re made for.
The rest of Ethnotek’s bags all feature handmade textiles too: they’re just not removable. All packs are constructed using an incredibly durable 600-denier nylon made from recycled plastic bottles. Although it’s not a natural fibre, it will last a lifetime – and it’s also water resistant.
Moreover, all of Ethnotek’s bags and backpacks are made in Vietnam, where Jake and Cori lived for eight years, at a workshop operated by their close friend Ai. This one location houses everything – design, prototyping, material management, moulding, stamping, cutting, sewing and fulfilment – making the entire Ethnotek process very low impact and sustainable.
Are you wondering where my connection to Ethnotek comes from?
Way back in 2012, I read an article written by my blogger friend Naomi. She’d started travelling with an Ethnotek Raja pack and was absolutely in love with it – and once I started looking at Ethnotek’s website I immediately started coveting one too.
But I can be a bit of a procrastinator. Despite checking in with the company periodically over the next few years, it slipped to the back of my mind until another blogger friend shared an Ethnotek Kickstarter campaign on Facebook, and I realised she’d become firm friends with Cori in Ubud.
After my cries of ‘It’s such a small world!” had subsided, I decided it was the perfect time to commit to my long-term intrigue about Ethnotek. I backed their campaign for the new Premji Pack – and I’m so glad I did.
Why I love the Ethnotek Premji Pack
From the moment it arrived, this backpack quickly segued into becoming my favourite everyday bag. It’s comfortable, functional, and has the most stunning design (I chose the brightly coloured geometric Vietnam 6 print).
The Premji has a 20 litre capacity but is still a pretty slim size, which means I don’t pack it too full and I save my shoulders some strain. At home, it easily holds my stuff on a daily basis – but I’ve also managed to cram all my flight carry-on into this backpack too (laptop, camera, kindle and plane snacks) which allowed it to become my travel daypack too.
And who would’ve thought those loops would make a perfect storage spot for gifted cigars from Cuban farmers?
The best part is its vast collection of pockets and zipped sections – as a diehard compartmentaliser who adores knowing that everything in a bag has its rightful home, this many pockets is essentially my dream!
My favourite features of the Premji Pack:
20 litre capacity
Stretchy mesh pocket on one side for water bottles
Slip pocket on other side for quick-grab items
Top zippered pocket (I store my wallet, keys and phone in here)
Double side straps to hold items like yoga mats, tripods and hiking poles (or rolled up clothes when you over-prepare for the weather, like I often do)
Front zippered section with multiple organiser pockets (good for pens, notebooks and general bag paraphernalia)
Laptop divider inside main compartment
Padded back panel
Hidden zippered access to main compartment via the back panel
So many loops and buckles to attach things to!
Reflective webbing strips for visibility in poorly lit conditions
The Ethnotek Premji Pack costs $109 online. If you use the code ‘FLORA10’ you’ll get 10% off!
Becoming an Ethnotek ambassador
Pretty soon after I realised my love for the Premji Pack, I got in touch with Cori and Jake via email and asked to be part of their Ambassador programme.
In exchange for promising to write about Ethnotek and post on social media, Cori sent out a couple of bags for me to use. And so my Ethnotek collection began to grow.
For the last year, I’ve been trialling Ethnotek’s Raja Pack and the Cyclo Sling in a variety of situations: from London life to international travel, and from hiking trips to music festivals.
They’re both fantastic bags for different reasons – so I thought I’d share my experiences and thoughts about each.
Trialling the Raja 46 litre backpack
I first trialled the Raja backpack on a summer trip to Milan (hence the Italian-esque photos). It acted as my main pack for a few days – which meant filling it with a few outfits, a pair of shoes, toiletries, plus my laptop, camera, book, wallet, passport, water bottle and a few other bits and pieces.
First up, space. It seems like this pack has a never-ending amount of room, mainly because the roll-top opening effectively allows the bag to expand.
The Raja also has organisation in mind, despite having a hefty capacity of either 30 litres or 46 litres. There’s a zipped pocket inside the main compartment; a zippered pocket on one side of the bag with a slip pocket on top of it; and even a zippered pocket inside the Thread itself.
The padded back panel zips open to an insulated space for your laptop, so you avoid rummaging through all your stuff in the main compartment (this is a dream for security check at airports!). There’s also access to the bottom of the main compartment via a zipper on the left side of the bag.
My favourite features of the Raja Pack:
Interchangeable Thread which attaches to front panel
Large roll top opening
Floating inner pocket in main compartment for valuables
Mesh pocket on left for water bottle (this side also zips open to access the main compartment)
Slip pocket on right, with a zipped lined pocket for your phone, wallet, keys etc
Insulated computer pouch which keeps computer suspended from the ground. Accessed via a separate zipper
Padded back panel with air mesh
Padded shoulder straps with cross chest buckles
Made from durable water resistant material made from recycled plastic bottles
Other uses for the Raja Pack
Although I’m not a rock climber/skateboarder/particularly good yogi, I’ve heard rave reviews for the Raja from many people who practice these hobbies. Because the Thread is fastened to the main pack with velcro and buckles, it’s possible to insert a skateboard across the bag’s front and hold it in place with the Thread. For climbers, the 46l is big enough to fit all your gear, from helmet to ropes to harness, and the wide opening makes it easy to access everything.
As for yoga lovers, the side buckles can easily hold a yoga mat – and the same goes for camera tripods, tent poles, sleeping mats… Basically anything you can think of!
My issues with the Raja Pack
I was a bit too eager for the Raja’s first outing in Italy, and I overloaded the pack to the extent that I quickly felt the strain on my shoulders. This backpack doesn’t have a hip belt, so it’s not advised to carry too much weight – although Cori and Jake have recently released a detachable hip belt which slots through the back panel for just $20, so once I get one of these I’ll be using the Raja a lot more!
Also (as you can probably see from these photos), I was carrying the Raja way too low on my back. Once I tightened the straps it felt more comfortable.
Prices for the Ethnotek Raja Pack range from $189 to $199 online. If you use the code ‘FLORA10’ you’ll get 10% off!
A review of the Ethnotek Cyclo travel sling
Ever since I made the switch to using backpacks in everyday life, I haven’t really used a cross-body bag – but the Ethnotek Cyclo Sling is a game changer. It’s the perfect bag for when I want to be handsfree, yet secure.
This bag has a capacity of 11 litres but the ingenious design means tons of possibilities for how to store your stuff. There’s a main compartment which rolls open and closed for maximum capacity; two organiser pockets inside the main compartment; hidden zipper pockets on either side of the bag – one which is an alternative access point to the main compartment, and one for storing small objects; and a padded back panel with its own zipped pocket lined with soft fabric, perfect for your phone, passport or anything breakable like sunglasses.
The main area is big enough to comfortably hold a book, jumper, wallet, phone, keys, and passport – basically all the things I carry on-board for a flight. The strap is made of seatbelt-style material and snaps shut with a buckle. The outer material is cotton but it’s lined with a shiny nylon fabric so effectively repels water – and it’s an off-white colour so you can see easily inside.
But the Cyclo Sling’s best feature is its versatility. By varying the length of the strap, it can be worn as a cross-body bag, a shoulder bag or around the waist as a bum bag (ok, a ‘fanny pack’ for the Americans amongst us). I’ve tried all three methods, and now I usually either hang it on my shoulder or sling it cross-body. Being able to quickly move it around from my back to my front is great too.
My favourite features of the Cyclo Sling:
Roll-top access to main compartment
Organiser pockets inside main compartment containing a document slot, two stretch-mesh pockets and a pen slot
Hidden zippered access pocket to main compartment on right side
Zippered pocket on left side for tissues, lip balm etc
Secure zippered lined pocket inside the padded air-mesh back panel
Adjustable strap to convert from cross-body bag to waist bag
Other uses for the Cyclo Sling
The Cyclo Sling is great for active travelling, especially hiking and cycling. It’s the perfect bag for festivals, too: just the right size to store your essentials, easy to put on your back and forget you’re wearing it, but equally easy to swing around to your front if you’re a bit worried about getting pick pocketed.
My issues with the Cyclo Sling
The main downside for me is due to being female. The strap across my chest always seems to fall between my boobs with the buckle squarely in the centre, and it’s not too comfortable. If the bag isn’t too heavy it’s not much of a problem – but as we’ve learnt, I carry a lot in my bags!
As an obsessive water-drinker it’s a shame there isn’t an obvious way to attach a water bottle to the bag. Luckily I’ve developed a hack: rolling up the bag’s opening and placing the bottle there, before clipping the buckle over it and tightening the strap. Works like a charm!
The Ethnotek Cyclo Travel Sling costs $69 online. If you use the code ‘FLORA10’ you’ll get 10% off!
My favourite part about Ethnotek as a whole? Its inclusivity
There’s an adventurous spirit clearly running throughout the community who buy these bags – but then what would you expect when the company is founded by two perpetual travellers?
Instead of calling their client base as ‘customers’, Jake and Cori refer to them fondly as ‘tribe members’, encouraging them to share photos of their packs online with the hashtag #ETKTribe. They jump at the chance to meet tribe members around the world: as soon as I posted my first Bali photo on Instagram, Cori commented with, “You’re here on my island?! When can I see you??”
It’s also handy that Ethnotek bags are so instantly recognisable. They’ve heard stories of travellers making friends because they both carry the backpacks; and on one of their trips back to Vietnam, Cori ran after a tribe member (who she was due to meet for the first time a few days later) when she spotted his Ethnotek pack walking down the street!
The next step, Jake says, is to bridge the gap between Ethnotek customers and artisans. Visiting the villages where these fabrics are made to learn about their cultures directly would be an adventure in itself; one that has already tempted me.
It’s so easy to buy a mass-produced backpack with no story behind it. Ethnotek is different.
Nowadays, many travellers are looking for something different in the gear they carry. Their priorities lie in socially responsible, ethically sourced products which have a focus on cultural preservation when possible.
Ethnotek operate a very simple model. Selling bags creates work for artisans around the world: work which provides income and preservation of craft and culture.
I’m fascinated by the transparency of Cori and Jake’s company. When I pick up my Premji bag every day, I’m continually reminded that there’s an accessible story behind it – one I can trace from conception to production, thanks to Ethnotek. And hopefully one day I can carry it all the way into the mountains of Vietnam and meet the women who cultivated, wove, dyed, sewed, batiked and embroidered the fabric completely by hand.
That’s why I became part of the Ethnotek tribe. And I’m so glad I did.
Win your own Ethnotek Premji backpack!
Are you feeling inspired to carry an Ethnotek backpack? If so, you’re in luck!

2 Sophisticated Industrial Style Homes
Two similar style homes await our perusal here, each with an industrial style vibe that is steeped in sophistication. Raw concrete walls and ceilings, cracked and crazed do not typically evoke a vision of luxury living. However, take a moment to absorb the interior designs of these two apartments that incorporate high-end furniture design, modern art and beautiful lighting solutions to create top notch living spaces in exactly those surroundings. The industrial space is simply a blank canvas that has been layered upon and added to, it does not define nor limit the quality or comfort of the pieces put inside it. See how these two designs each warm and smooth cool, rough industrial space.
Designer: STUDIO.O. organic design   Visualizer: Michal Nowak Studio   Our first visit is to a 300 square metre home, in a beautiful tenement house in Warsaw. A laid back approach is taken in this dry, sophisticated interior. This is a scene set in the wabi-sabi design ethos of how beauty stems from imperfections – like meandering cracks in exposed concrete walls. This home has a no-nonsense industrial vibe, but it is filled with high quality design and modern Polish art. An orange tan leather sofa draws from colour in the wall art and warms the very grey living room. Black accents break up the pale grey mass in the form of wall shelves, side tables and floor lamps.
More of the abstract art collection fills smooth white walls on the opposite side of the room, where a smoked glass doorway opens up to a dining room and kitchen.
Another set of smoked glass doors close off the other side of the room, behind two cosy slouch armchairs and an orange tan leather pouffe.
Black metal side tables serve the armchairs and the leather couch.
Black metal frame wall shelves match the look of the side tables dotted around the room. The series of wall shelves hold a library of books and decorative items.
A black modern coffee table marks the centre of the space.
A cluster of globe dining room pendant lights dangle over a back dining table and chairs set.
An enormous kitchen island is illuminated by industrial style lighting with gold accents. The rose gold designer table lamp seen here are the Bell lamps by Tom Dixon. If you love these rose gold/copper accent lamps don’t forget to check out: 36 Cool Copper Table Lamps To Warm Up Your Interior.
The kitchen island looks out to the dining room, through tinted glass sliding doors.
The marble effect kitchen island seats three casual diners, but runs directly into a dining bar with six more seats.
The pale kitchen countertop has an integrated sink, which has been boldly accessorised with a matte black faucet.
A cognac colour floor enriches the scheme.
Warm earthy tones return in the master bedroom suite, where a ruddy coloured bed rests between two floor lamps.
The platform bed is flanked by orange tan leather bedside benches.
An open bathroom design adjoins with the master bed.
Industrial style shelving acts as a subtle room divider between the sleep space and a glass shower cubicle.
An orange tan leather bench spans the transition space to the wash zone, offering a spot to set down clean towels.
A concrete topped vanity unit is wall mounted to continue the open spacious look.
Architect: Compass Atelier   Visualizer: Open Visual Studio   The second of our two sophisticated industrial home tours welcomes us in with plush seating and a gallery of serene nature prints. A love of nature and its intriguing beauty runs throughout the scheme.
A sculpture adorns one of the round coffee tables at the centre of the elegant lounge space.
The set of nesting coffee tables sits upon a smooth grey area rug that defines the lounge area from a neighbouring dining room.
Six modern dining chairs surround a black and wood dining table, on top of a second grey area rug. The carpeted dining area rests beneath a trio of black dining room pendant lights. A wall mounted white sideboard runs the length of the dining room before morphing with white kitchen base units at the far end. One solitary wooden display shelf follows along the same length of wall, displaying a restrained collection of decorative items that are inspired by nature.
A piece of driftwood is utilised as a table centrepiece.
The modern kitchen has a central island for prep, cooking and casual dining.
Three black kitchen bar stools line up along one side of the kitchen island, opposite a ceramic cooking hob.
The central island is a wooden volume, which matches with the long decorative wall shelf over the kitchen units situated behind it. However, the countertop around the cooking hob is covered with a thin slab of cool concrete.
The kitchen countertop is kept completely uncluttered in a minimalist fashion.
A hidden LED strip runs the length of the wooden wall shelf, to cast a soft glow onto the kitchen backsplash and countertop below.
The kitchen worktop is polished concrete. An integrated concrete sink is filled by a chrome modern kitchen tap.
A long expanse of glass doors flank a wood and concrete hallway.
Wooden interior doors are camouflaged in the wood wall panelling that spans the length of the hallway.
Chunky wooden storage volumes match with the wood wall panelling in the main living area. The shelves hold a small home library and a few ornaments.
By night, wood tone becomes rich in the shadows, whilst polished concrete reflects the artificial glow.

Title - Udoris Before
This is a fiction story set in the year 2034. This is not a prediction of the future. Please do not read this as such.
Chapter One
The year was 2034. Not much had changed since the year of 2018. Some minor adjustments here and there. Some new leaders, and remaining old leaders. *disclaimer this is not real* We managed to make a new type of energy. We created a chemical that was similar to chlorophyll and simply absorbed the sun far better than the solar panels. This posed a problem for other industries at first. There was some disputes but eventually because the chemical was easily made everyone caught on. So now you’re thinking ah yes everything was solved. Unfortunately not everything was not solved. Rebel groups still existed and still posed a threat to governments and people. Governments still posed various threats. Even citizens posed threats. One inventor was born in 2018 around this time, perhaps in the winter. He was definitely born in the winter, December if I recall. He now was 16 during this time and had inherited a considerable amount of money. During this time 2034 he and generally, all people who were young but old enough to think and implement vast ideas, decided to get into the hospitality industry. Something he loved to do. He had a very fun and care free life so naturally he wanted to impart that life on others. Because he was young and had money but not enough money to face any legal problems, he decided to make the resort a 100 percent safe. Now I’m sure you can imagine what that sounds like. Almost absolutely ridiculous. But he thought of every single thing that could be potentially harmful to the guests and eliminated it from the resort. I’m sure by now you’re probably wondering what he did about the use of bodily force. Well by now you can imagine the year 2034 not too many people were eating meat. There wasn’t very much food after the population grew to about 20 billion. They didn’t really catch onto population control. That being said, not too much food, not too much meat, paired with a lot of vitamins, enabled people to be healthy but not too strong that someone couldn’t have the ability to fend them off until help came through. All that being said he made all the food pre cut, and shipped to the resort. Everything coming in was on a, can bring list and can’t bring list. He had soft plastics that were impossible to be harmful to another person. I imagine now you are wondering what this resort would of looked like, shallow water pools, soft plastic chairs, nothing sharp, very strange I’m sure. The walls were also incredibly soft, more so like those foam beds you can sink into. I'm sure now you’re thinking that they must of felt like they were in a insane asylum. You might believe that, that’s what it looked like but no, the place was beautifully decorated and well designed. He spent a lot of money making this as well as the staff to keep everything in good shape and orderly. He brought in his families net work then, word caught on and this became a safe place for the rich. Can you imagine though, a bunch of wealthy people unable to hurt each other, just talking, some people even spent years there. The place was well organized let’s just say because the walls were so soft, you couldn’t really have sound waves travel too far. That being said that any yelling and debating that did go on didn’t really go past the room.
Chapter Two
These places became more popular, and branched across the world. Supposedly people happened to like a well run, silent, non harmful, peaceful place...believe it or not. He became very rich off of these endeavours. He decided to invest in other aspects. However every time he exited the walls of his resort he saw some sort of wrongful doing. He had an idea and to his much dismay would not be looked well upon the government. He attempted to make his own country, and instead of trying to scatter these resorts around the world. This didn’t work out the governments, no matter how much money him and his guests of his resorts threw at him didn’t really make much of a difference. The countries were set in stone they said, and they always ended the conversation with excuse me I have urgent matters to attend to. Some of these urgent matters were a war breaking out, the time was 2038 and tensions were rising. He didn’t understand why they didn’t want them to have a neutral peaceful country. Then it dawned on him who would fund their wars? He thought to himself this is a joke, an absolute joke, he rounded everyone up in a matter of a year, all the scientists, all the space people and said ok gentlemen we’re going to the MOON! Mars was having continuous and various experiments being done by the militaries, they were trying to build a proper colony. Something they couldn’t get right, they wanted to convert all the carbon monoxide that we exhaled and have a chamber that would transfer this into oxygen. One of our botanists had various plants that would be good enough for the amount of people we were bringing. The reason the governments didn’t resort to this, because in the rare chance the plants would die. So we started our journey, we didn’t have consent from the government so we just had a lift off. They didn’t threaten to take our flight down, because all the wealthy people that came with us threaten to make an economic nightmare. The governments didn’t have time to wage war with an economic nightmare so they simply just said I’ll see you when you run out of oxygen and food. They laughed to themselves of course. They knew it wouldn’t be long.
Chapter Three
Four years passed by and we were still on the moon, still happy as we were at the resort. We had a telecommunications device that could manage things from the moon. So technically we still had contact with Earth. By this time what we expected the war broke out into a mess. No one trusted each other and alliances changed only monthly, whenever this was their pleasing or advantage. This was a tragic time. Some of the people went back just to try and knock some sense into everyone. By this time, the rebels had taken over some of the countries government offices. This didn’t help peace agreements at all. Eventually because there was not enough of a normal environment to conduct business, most people stopped the flow of economics entirely. They were too afraid to go out of their houses, why would they, they had a technological garden in their home. They could 3D print any house hold appliance they needed and when the larger appliances that needed a company they just made due. The government ran out of money and workers. They tried to then force the residents to go to war but they just ended up joining the rebels shortly after. Let’s just say things were a complete mess. The world population went back down to 10 billion. There were no longer any governments remaining
“we have to go back to earth, we can’t spend our lives watching this destruction, we have to bring back the order we have to find ways to capture the rebels and bring our way of life to the people”
“It’s too dangerous”
“What are you going to wait for? Till there’s nothing left?”
“You’re right but we can’t do this alone, I’ll send word to mars there’s still soldiers there, this will be next to impossible but we will try.”
Chapter 4
Various space ships went back down to Earth and pin pointed the rebels whereabouts, they took them down. By this time the leaders had been taken out but there were the turned civilians. They resisted but we at least put them in confinement for the mean time. After this we held huge mass announcements.
“Residents of Earth, look what you’ve done, to your home, to the place that you held so dear, you have let mindless people, use mindless weapons to destroy all that you held dear. This is now what you think is best? Do you see that this is not a revolution but destruction. That you have dissolved the government and for years what have they done to make your lives better? There is no order, there is no grandeur. You have been caught between two lunatics. Fighting for something that in the end have destroyed. We’ve come back to pick up the pieces to your disillusioned dreams. We have been living peacefully on the Moon for years now we will help you build back your world and what is left of it.”
We brought out the robots for a short time. We asked everyone to remain in their houses for the time being, over the years we made self building and self directed robots. There was much debate about our concept of a harm free home, however they didn’t have anything at the time and this is all we knew. We built for a full year making dense cities. There was no point in spacing out the land because everything was mostly rubble. We figured we would make the earth habitable first. We connected these main cities with high speed transportation. Each city was respective of the cultures that used to be in place. The language was not lost, a lot of the artifacts were but so much was on the cloud that we brought back to life fake replicas, mostly holograms to stay in tact with our soft objects mandate. When the civilians came out of hiding while the main cities were being built, we then tore down all the half rubble homes. We let nature do the rest.
Chapter 5
A lot of people were traumatized by everything. Previous rebels were brought back to the societies after various years and were given a new home. We taught them a way of life. A lot of them, due to their rebel nature felt that having these few and condensed cities were great and all but they did not want to live here. They wanted to create architecture, live differently, have hard things back into their life. Not because they wanted to hurt each other but because they felt their freedoms were limited. Most the world outside of our condensed cities were nature. We enabled them to go, because we weren’t a governing body, we couldn’t hold them hostage to our cities either. We gave them a few supplies and told them you must not make weapons or we will no longer let you live there on your own. You still have technically committed crimes and therefore under the old laws would be imprisoned for a lengthy amount of time. So we are letting you be free to create not because we want you to start what you have done all over again. But simply because we are understanding of the circumstances that led you to do what you have done in the past. All that being said, we hope that you will not pose a threat to the peaceful cities we have created. If you do pose a threat, we will treat you as a threat.
