I decided I wanted to do more master studies this year, and this morning I was like "well, I love Rococo paintings, lets start there!" Then I fell down a Francois Boucher rabbithole and like... Is it just me or are a lot of his paintings REALLY sapphic??
Like:
^The Love Letter
^Diana Returning From the Hunt
^Diana Leaving the Bath
^Leda and the Swan
^Hunting Nymphs
^and finally these several paintings of Jupiter in the Guise of Diana Seducing Callisto (which I know, it's ol' kinky Zeus at it again again, but the implication that Callisto was totally into Diana/Artemis combined with the fact that some people just title it Diana and Callisto anyway? WELL)
Anyway I grabbed these fast so they're varying image quality, and I think there's even more besides these/some attributed to either him or people who studied under him, but still wanted to share-- I couldn't stop thinking about this today haha.
(And now watch this post get flagged for showing all these gals uhhhh hanging out hahahaaa)
