Digimon OTP Week: Zombie/College AU
The theme was supposed to be college or zombie, but I ended up using them both. Actually it’s more highschool then college. I always draw Daiken stuff, so this time I decided to insert another pairing, ‘cause in zombie stuff the more is the better, right? This four are the last survivors in the whole school. Ken is chased by his ex girlfriend… he will be the next one to be zombified, I guess. Poor thing. Mimi is too cool, so she will be the only human remaining.
Note that I didn’t choose the zombie characters ‘cause I don’t like ‘em or don’t want ‘em in my fav pairings. In fact I think that all the kids deserve love~♥
But yeah, this time they are all gonna be zombies. I know it’s sad, but that’s how things works in zombie stuff.

We met a girl
DIGIOTP Week! Fanfiction
Pairing: Mimato
word-count 1826
It’s not that Tai didn’t enjoy working with his best friend but since past few weeks he was driving Tai insane. His friend was having some frustrating weeks, and he couldn’t understand why.
“What’s with the attitude man?” Tai asked finally one day, sitting on his friend’s desk
Silence
“Are you pmsing or something?”
Silence
Tai was quite confused as to why his friend was acting in such a manner. They had been childhood friends and moved to the States together. They were really tight and had been through a lot together. They knew everything about each other and always had each other’s backs. Tai knew the sarcastic and cold nature of his friend, but something was different this time. He had changed since past few months, specifically ever since he had met her. Actually, they both had changed since meeting her.
Tai had never seen his friend become close to anyone so fast. Tai met her soon after and since then the three of them hung out almost every single day and she became an important person in both of their lives. It’s just the way she was. They were a Trio of best friends from the beginning, she moved in with them once her apartment contract had expired. Three best friends, working together and room-mates. That was it right?
“when was the last time you got laid?”
“huh” his friend answered looking up from the laptop
“when was the last time you got laid?” Tai repeated his question
“Dunno, why does it matter?” his friend asked annoyed
“you are clearly frustrated from not getting any action my friend” Tai said shutting the laptop. “I am setting you up with someone this weekend, don’t you dare refuse”
“yeah whatever”
Tai realized that It had been ages since his friend had last gone on a date. It’s not like his friend couldn’t find a date, he was good looking, he was successful, rich, and famous, and he sure had a lot of girls running behind him. But somehow, he rejected every advance made on him, and didn’t find any one interesting to go on a date with. He would always make excuses of work and travels.
Tai wondered if this was because of her, that his friend had fallen for her. But he always dismissed this thought because they were never romantically involved or anything of that sort. They never flirted or showed any interest in each other that way, in fact it was always Tai who flirted with her, harmless flirting of course.
“Don’t you dare” was his friend´s warning before introducing this girl to Tai. His friend knew Tai had always been a playboy, never committing, and with a different date each time. No woman could ever resist Tai, his gift as he called it, until this girl came alone. She didn’t show any romantic interest in either of the boys. This confused Tai in the beginning but was glad because no other woman had ever become so important to him ever. He was glad she was this amazing best friend in his life. He wanted her to depend on him. He was quite surprised by how he and his friend were so protective about this girl who they met in such a short period of time, but openly welcomed it.
That evening as the trio met, Tai told the girl about his and his friends weekend plans.
“oh cool” she answered enthusiastically.
“I can arrange a date for you as well, princess”
She just laughed it off as they continued with the teasing, dinner and planning the dates.
This was the first time his friend would be going on a date ever since meeting her, Tai suddenly realized. He looked for signs of annoyance or jealousy during the conversion, but she showed none. She even told him to wear his black shirt, which was her favourite on him.
When Tai met her he didn’t understand her, she was stunningly beautiful and gorgeous, but completely focused on work. He never figured how his friend ended up meeting her. “An accident” is all his friend told him. Shortly after she started working with them and Tai realized she was not just beauty but she also quite smart and hard working.
Tai didn’t realize it, but he always remembered every little detail about her and what she said. He remembered the time she told them about her heartbreak and how she was determined to prove herself to the world. She never let it show that she could have been broken but Tai could see over time she no longer worked to prove the world anything but for herself. They were extremely impressed by her attitude in life and how strong she really was.
The week passed by quickly, and it was date night. The day was extremely hectic, and the trio didn’t get much time to talk during the whole day. Tai had to drag his friend home to change and be on time for the date.
“Matt this is Veronica” Tai introduced his friend to his date.
“Hi, it’s so nice to meet you” she replied blushing
Both the boys went separately on their dates. Around midnight, Tai though his friends date was going well as he got a text from Matt saying they were now heading to her apartment.
“Go get some action” Tai replied, then focusing on his own date.
Tai reached their apartment by 3.00 AM in the morning. His date went okay, as he would put it. He didn’t want to stay the whole night and left once she fell asleep. He imagined his friend would be coming sometime in the morning and the girl would be fast asleep in her room. He planned to have a couple of beers and watch a movie, before retiring to his room to sleep.
However, he was not expecting to find this particular scene in front of him
As Tai entered the living room, he saw Matt sitting on the floor, back resting against the couch and his arms wrapped around the girl, covered by a blanket. She was resting her head on his chest. Both were sleeping.
Now it was not unusual for her to be close like this with either of them. They were often close in terms of hugging and having an arm around the other or kisses on cheeks and foreheads without it being with any romantic intentions. It was just their comfort level with each other. This scene would not have been weird for Tai if Matt was not supposed to be on his date!
He saw that the movie was still running, Beauty and the Beast, one of her favourite movies; if you are best friends with this girl you know all about Disney movies! He also noticed ice-cream tubs and tissue packs on the floor. He neared his friends. As soon as he took the remote, he saw Matt open his eyes.
“what’s up?” Tai asked looking suspiciously at Matt
Matt only put his finger on his lips and pointed at the girl. She was sleeping peacefully, her long brunet hair gently falling over her eyes. Tai then watched his friend get up and carefully picking the girl up and taking her to her room to put her to bed. He saw how the girl stirred a little in her sleep as Matt picked her up and heard how Matt whispered to her that everything was okay and that she’s safe. Tai noticed how Matt had gently swept her fair from her face and the smile on his lips as he carried her.
Tai left to the beers and sat on the couch waiting for Matt.
“Start talking” Tai said offering Matt a beer, as Matt sat next to him.
“Well,” Matt said taking a sip. Tai could tell his friend was hesitating. Never at Matt ever hesitated to tell Tai anything.
“The date went alright, we went for dinner and then headed to a bar for a couple of drinks. She did most of the talking. When I texted you, we left the bar to go to her place. We reached her apartment and well things started picking up.” Matt said leaning forward and running his hand on his hair.
Tai listened quietly while sipping on his beer.
“She went inside her room to freshen up and I was waiting outside. She opened the door, she had apparently undressed, and she invited me inside. We were on her bed and while she tried to unbutton my shirt, my phone rang” Matt said looking at Tai now.
“Don’t tell me you took the call” Tai asked Matt in a serious tone.
“Of course, I did. It was Mimi.” Tai understood this as both the boys had her number saved under a different ringtone, so they knew when it was she who called.
“And” Tai asked, urging for Matt to continue.
“I heard her crying on the call.” Tai got a little tensed while hearing this.
“She didn’t say anything, just cried. I could only ask her, where are you?” “she just replied with home, and I left. I buttoned my shirt, told her sorry, grabbed my stuff and left”
Tai just silently listened to his friend.
“I came home and saw her sitting in front of the TV, watching The Notebook, and crying. And she was eating ice-cream” Matt said with a smile. “Why did Jack have to die, she cried as she saw me.” Tai smiled now too, as both the boys know how Titanic and The Notebook affect this girl.
“She was upset over something and decided to watch the movies that make her cry” Tai concluded sighting.
Matt smiled at this and nodded “Then I sat next to her comforted her and we started watching Disney movies. She didn’t tell me why she was upset though, I don’t know if it was because of work or what but she even forgot I was supposed to be on a date.” “I told you the date was a bad idea”
“hmm” was all Tai could answer as he sipped on his beer. “why was the date a bad idea?” Tai asked after a few seconds.
“well because, because” Matt stuttered as he didn’t have any words to say. “I am going to bed” Matt said getting up.
Both the boys got up, as they were headed in their own room, Tai stated “You´ve fallen in love with her” as he entered his room.
“No, I” is all Tai heard Matt say as he closed his door. Tai was annoyed. He realized his friend was in love with Mimi. He knew his friend wasn’t ready to admit it yet, but he knew it! He had thought about it sometimes when he saw how close those two were, but it couldn’t be! He knows he should be happy for his friend, but something stung in his own heart.

11 & 3!
I’m so sorry I waited so long to answer, but I finished my stuff waaaaaaaay too late yesterday/this morning and simply didn’t have the energy for anything else after xD
[The good news is I’m still playing, so you guys can still send numbers!]
3. Favoritemusical artist / group you started listening to this year?
Okay this isdifficult because I usually do things on a song-by-song basis so Idon’t discover artists so much as songs I like but uh...I’d saymy favorite song discovery of the year would be All of it but meby The Young Professional, which I’ve listened on repeat for uh...awhile :P
11.Something you want to doagain next year?
Wriiiiiiiiiiiiiite !I mean, I know I wrote this year but I only published… * checks *18 fics this year, which is not too bad at all but idk I still feellike I haven’t written all that much, especially compared to yearswhere I published like, a fic per month/week x)
(Ofcourse, it’s a fallacy, in that 1. I only worked twelve hours aweek and had no social life outside of Tumblr on the year I’mrefering to, and 2. All the fics I published in 2017, including theshort and messy ones, are better quality than what I published in2012 so. Oh, yeah, and also I wrote 4/5th of a novel back in January,so it’s really only an impression I guess. REGARDLESS. Writing. It’ll be fun. Maybe I’ll even do the DigiOTP week again :D)

DigiOTP Week 2017 - Profession AU
Day 3 - Profession AU (Florist AU) Pairing - Joe (Jyou) x Mimi from Digimon Adventure 01/02
Summary:
Joe never thought much of flowers until the day he passed the florists.
AO3 Link
This is an short drabble (about 1,500 words) and it would have been longer but i was aware of the time limit for getting all the prompts done by the deadline, and it was the easiest one to make shorter. I feel a bit guilty because i adore this pairing so so much! They would be perfect together and i’ll always be a bit disappointed that Tri leaned towards Mimi x Izzi instead...

Studying and Togetherness
DigiOTP Week 2017
Prompt: College AU Pairing: Takeru/Wallace/Hikari (Waltakari) Rating: Teens and Up audience Digimon Adventure, 02, Tri
Tumblr media
I really liked writing this fic, this was another ship that I got into because of @hielorei these three are just precious together, I gonna have to write more about them in the future, please enjoy reading. (Also the gif XD Willis is basically the guy at the end, Takeru in the middle, and Kari on the right.)
Kari had entered an apartment building for the students at the university, she was here to study with her friend TK, she was having trouble with her literature and essay assignment as he smart when it came to this subject, plus she hadn’t properly hung out with him in the time they had been at Odaiba University. So they could properly catch up while he helped her study. She had just stepped off the elevator and arrived on the third floor, taking out her phone reading her texts from TK, his apartment was ‘3-F’ as she walked down the hallway until she arrived at the door.
Kari knocked it a few times waiting for a response on the other side. Inside the apartment, it was a standard complex, a small hallway with two bedroom doors leading into living room, bathroom, kitchen, and a balcony. And inside the bathroom, stepping out of the shower was a tall male, with an athletic-build, light skin, cream blonde hair soaked from the water, along with the rest of his body, he grabbed a towel drying himself off when he heard the knocking, he grinned wrapping the towel around his waist as he left the bathroom to go and open the door.
“You forgot your key again huh?” He said assuming it was someone else as he unlocked the door instead of seeing a familiar face this girl stood on the other side.
“Oh. You’re not…” He said as Kari’s face went bright pink with a blush as this practically naked guy, dripping wet stood where she was expecting TK.
“I-I… Oh, my g-” She couldn’t find the words as she had to look away from the blonde. He looked confused for a second before remembering he was still just in a towel.
“My bad.” He chuckled rubbing the back of his damp hair. “So, how can I help you?” He asked her with a smile. “I… I’m looking for TK, d-does he lives here?” She asked still looking away from the boy.
“Oh, you must be Kari. Yeah TK lives here but he went to a store to grab some stuff… I’m his roommate Willis, nice to meet ya.” He said taking her hand and shaking it.
“N-Nice to meet you.” Kari said as she was clearly flustered as Willis just kept smiling at her.
“Well just don’t stand out there, come on in.” Willis gestured to inside as Kari just nodded shyly following him inside.
“You can just take a seat through there, while I go put some clothes on.” He winked before heading back to his room to change Kari followed his directions. as she took a seat in the living room.
“Okay, so… A naked guy answered the door. That’s not a bad start.” She spoke to herself, her blush fading down.
“He is really cute too.” She said in a quiet tone, as she then shook her head.
“Okay snap out it. I’ll just wait for TK to come back…” She said as she got out of the books and started to go through one of them.
“So can I get you anything to drink?” Willis had returned dressed in gray pants and a burgundy vest with his towel around his neck.
“Oh no, I’m fine, thank you.” She said smiling faintly as the blonde took the seat opposite to her.
“So how are you doing today?” He asked her as she decided to converse with this boy until TK came back, and she wanted to be polite.
“It’s been pleasant, I’ve just been trying to get past this.” Kari answered referring to her essay paper. “So I asked TK if he could help me out…” She further stated.
“Yeah, he’s pretty great when it comes to writing, essays and junk like that.” The blonde stated as nodded in agreement with him.
“And you’ve been friends with him since elementary?” He asked remembering when his roomie mentioned the girl.
“Mm-hmm. Yep, we’ve friends since we were little, but after we graduated high school we sort of drifted apart, we kept in contact, always messaging and calling each other… But we’ve only met up a few times in the months we been here.” She explained to him.
“Yeah, it can be hard when you fall out of touch with your friends… But you and TK haven’t fallen out of touch, you’ve just both been busy is all.” He said to her which made her smile.
“And what about you?” The brunette asked him as just grinned, chuckling a little.
“Yeah. We really hit off on the first day…” Willis smiled thinking back to when he met the other blonde.
“He’s really great huh? Cheery, reasonable, cute butt.” The blonde said that last part slyly as Kari nodded as she then just blushed again.
“Um… W-Wait no. I mean… Well he does, but not that I…” She was getting red as Willis just grinned as he got her.
“So you agree? That he’s cute.” He asked her as she felt a little embarrassed before the young woman just looked at him and slowly nodded her head.
“Hey it’s okay, I think he’s cute too… And what about me? Do you find me irresistible?” He asked as her face went red as Willis then got up and then went over to her, crouched down before her.
“Cause you know, you’re quite the cutie too.” Willis spoke a charming manner as he gently cupped her cheek as she just looked at him.
Her eyes narrowed as she fallen for his charm, he smirked gently stroking her cheek as he leaned in close, their lips about to meet when the sound of the door unlocking was heard as TK entered the apartment, dressed in a jacket, jeans, wearing headphones as he had a bag in his hand. He locked the door behind him as he walked into the living room to see Kari and Willis, inches away from each other, her face red, as he just stood there before he then cleared his throat as they both looked at him.
“Hey…” He said weakly waving his hand, smiling as Willis grinned while Kari’s expression was the definition of flustered, as she just squealed, hiding her face behind her hands.
“Hey bro, welcome back.” Willis said in a casual manner as if nothing happened.
“Hey, Kari.” TK said in a playful manner as she just returned the greeting in a muffled manner as he just chuckled putting the bag down as he sat down beside her, gently taking her hands away from her face.
“Hi.” He said with a grin as Willis then took the other seat next to her.
“H-Hey.” Kari answered as she felt hot, the heat from her face.
“Sorry I took so long, I just needed to pick up some snacks for our study session, and I hope you don’t if Willis joins in.” TK said as she looked at Willis who just winked.
“Y-Yeah, sure thing, I d-don’t mind.” She said as Willis chuckled as he then got and sat in-between TK and Kari, throwing his arms around their necks pulling them close.
“Cool! This gonna be fun, I already feel like that is gonna be the start a beautiful friendship…” Willis eagerly said as he then kissed Kari’s cheek making her cheeks turn pink, he then turned to other male and kissed his cheek making him giggle. Kari just stared at them before awkwardly smiling at them
Soon time passed as the three college students were at the table, it was covered by their books, papers, and empty packages, and cans, it had been a few hours since they started their study session. Kari had felt a weight lifted off her as she had made progress with the essay thanks to TK and Willis was helping relieve her stress with his jokes and teasing, while they were working they had been talking and getting acquainted with each other.
Kari learned that Willis was originally from Colorado, and he and his mother had moved to Japan during his high school years, he was very popular and was a friendly guy, and a flirt to say the least. And Willis, in turn, learned more about Kari, that she had met TK through her older brother, and the fun times she had with their childhood gang of friends. He was glad to see that they were getting along, his childhood friend and recent friend, smiling warmly at them.
(2 years later)
Willis had just placed three boxes down in his new living room, he was wearing just beige colored pants, he didn’t need a shirt due to the hot weather, as he had an iced pop in his mouth. He had just moved into this new bigger apartment for his last two years of university. The American looked around the room filled with all their boxes, it was just then Kari walked into the room, she was wearing a pink shirt, yellow skirt, and long pink stockings.
“TK’s just coming in the last box, that’s it. We’re officially moved in.” Kari said as she wrapped around arms around his waist, hugging him from behind.
“Yep, there is a lot of stuff. We can leave for a bit and go get something to eat.” Willis said smiling at the young woman as she kissed his cheek softly.
“That sounds good.” TK’s voice made them both look back as he stood in the doorway holding the last box as he placed it down on the ground.
“I gonna need like… Four sodas, and an ice cream.” The blonde groaned as he then went over to them as he leaned in close to Willis taking the other end of Willis’s ice cream pulling it out of his mouth as he started eating it.
“Oh no, just help it yourself, it’s alright.” Willis said as TK just pushed his forehead against his boyfriend’s who just chuckled as did Kari.
“There are some pops in the fridge you know?” The brunette said teasing the boys as Willis just looked at her.
“Yeah but that was the last orange flavored one.” Willis said looking at TK who just pouted as the American just smiled deciding to let it go.
A few minutes later the three of them were the ground, sitting together, each eating an ice pop, with Kari and TK sat on each side of Willis. SInce meeting Kari, he had become close with her and becoming closer with TK as the three of them entered a relationship together a year ago. They were a good combination of friends, and lovers they were equal to each other,  it was a little strange at first for Kari, having two boyfriends but she was happy.
TK had been trying to find out how to deal with his feelings for Kari and Willis, and this seemed to make easy for him. Living with Willis was interesting he was always flirting with him, teasing him and trying to proposition a few times, when they first met they ended up kissing which made him a little confused when it came to his childhood crush with Kari. But now those feelings were long gone, he had the two most important people that by his side.
Willis was content with this outcome, he had been this close to two people in all his time in university and in high school, if only he had met these two back during high school or even sooner, but it didn’t matter now. The blond then wrapped his arms around the two holding them close, he gave Kari an Eskimo kiss and TK started to kiss his neck and chest, as he then reached over to the brunette as he kissed her cheek, they all giggled as they just continued to lay there.

DigiOTP Week: 08/24 & 08/25: Supernatural: “One Miracle, Comin’ Up”
Disclaimer: Minor language, and anything else you’d find in an average Supernatural episode.
The grumble of the Chevy Impala’s engine was soothing and powerful sound. For some, only silence could soothe a sleepless night, or quiet, yet purposeful repetitive noises. For Takeru, it was the Impala.  One thing he loved, even when he was still back in Japan was to take the car and drive for hours, as far north as Aomori and as far south as Yamaguchi. Today, he was on the road with his long time girlfriend, longer time friend, and recently made his fiance Hikari Yagami.  Used to be himself and his brother Yamato, saving people, hunting things. It wasn’t any family business, what with their mother being lost to an Alpha Vampire, and their father to an Ōkami. Takeru was still reeling over his brother’s last run in with demons.
He wasn’t sure how many of his friends had made it to America in time to stand a fighting chance against the monsters and demons, but he at least knew the likes of Mimi, Taichi, Iori and Sora had made it.
“Hey Hikari, you still asleep?”
Hikari had rested her head on his shoulder for nearly five hours, and had to be getting a neck cramp, but wouldn’t say a word about it.
She had to take down several of their demonized friends, and had to leave the life she had far, far behind her.
“Mhm, what? I’m...I’m awake, I promise.”
“Hikari, we’re still on the road, you don’t need to be wide awake out here.” Hikari said nothing, doing her best to not let on her insomnia and her feeling of never being comfortable anywhere but beside Takeru. She had to think about her brother and her parents, who may, or may not still be alive, even taking into account last night’s call. This was a world where you never relied on much lasting beyond the moment, but her pick was this.
Herself, Takeru, their bond, their love, and the drive through the Midwest.
She had become a lover of the Midwest since as many of their group had made it to America. Rather than constantly feeling paranoid that any number of the countless people in cities could be monsters, demons or just jerks, the flat, nearly endless landscapes of farm fields, empty fields, and the occasional farmhouse, diner, and gas station.
“So, we’re supposed to meet up at Iori’s place? How in the world did he bu...he didn’t buy it did he.” Hikari said with enthusiasm, then became deadpan when she remembered the general situation, and that  frankly waiting for a real estate agent and the bank to file paperwork was overly-tedious for an off the grid home base.
“Yeah. Last time I checked in he said Mimi and Taichi were there, but Sora’s off on a case, with...and I quote “A ton of backup”.”
“Takeru, what exactly is a ton of backup these days?”
“I’ll be honest with you Hikari, I don’t wanna know. At this point, I could sheeeeeeeeeeEEEEEE”
Takeru’s now colorful language was cut short by his last ditch effort to avoid hitting a woman in the road, but his effort was far too late. The Impala’s rythmic engine, and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising” both filled the silence once Takeru put the car in park.
“DID WE JUST HIT SOMEONE!?!”
“HIKARI GET THE COLT!”
“YOU HAVE THE COLT! I’VE GOT THE SHOTGUN AND SALT PELLETS!”
The two panicked fiances  walked out, and as they closed their doors, they realized maybe they should have left the doors open for a quick getaway.
The woman had long, dark black hair, with bangs on her forehead in an even cut, though her bangs largely fell to the left side of her face. Her square-red frame glasses had a few specks of dirt on them, and with no care in the world, she took them off to clean off the specs.
“Wait...how are you still standing? How are you still breathing?! HIKARI DEMON GO!”
Hikari fired off a round of salt pellets, but to their collective horror, the woman was unphased, and frankly appeared to be even less amused than before.
“I am no demon. Please, put your weapons away.”
Takeru brandished another weapon, but before he could move his arm, the woman made a swift movement with her hand, and flung the weapon away, all without physically touching either Takeru or his weapon.
“You did not listen, so I have made sure you will not waste all of our time trying to destroy me. Please listen to me. I am an Ang...”
Hikari’s eyes went wide.
“Are you telling me...you’re an ANGEL?!”
The woman turned around to Hikari, and dusted her immaculate and formal outfit off.
“You would be correct. I am an Angel of the Lord, here to deliver news to you.”
“Great. And I’m supposed to believe you...whoever you are?”
The woman tilted her head on her side, as if trying to carefully look at every detail of Takeru as if he were a slide on a microscope.
“My name is...You cannot understand my name, but this vessel’s name is Meiko Mochizuki, so I will go by Meiko.”
“Vessel...Is she awake in there?!” Hikari asked with a terrified look on her face.
“Yes, she is awake and aware, but do not panic. She is glad to be helping others, with and without recognition.”
Takeru began a wordless exchange with Hikari, largely consisting of overly-dramatic facial expressions. She in turn, also gave him over the top facial reactions, neither noticing the very puzzled Meiko looking slowly back and forth from one to the other.
“I do not understand...Why are you communicating by facial expression? You are clearly capable of speaking human languages, so I do not see why you must..”
Meiko’s confused face turned to serious concern, and she grabbed on to both Takeru and Hikari.
“I was hoping we would have more time to discuss this, but I need you two to stay safe.”
“Well, we were heading to a safehouse before you showed up in the middle of the road.”
“Why come all this way to ask us to be safe?” Hikari wisely asked, well aware an angel would not make such a long journey for nothing.
“You two are...special. Each of you has been carefully monitored for what’s to come. I am not allowed to say much more, but you must protect one another no matter the sacrifice of anyone, or anything else aside from your own selves.”
Takeru and Hikari both had several concerns, but had no time to ask thanks to the mob of demons, led by two of their old friends, came in to attack.
“I can handle them myself, you must go!”
Takeru and Hikari were set on not leaving their new ally Meiko behind, and began to fight off the horde.
Takeru thought he would be prepared for an attack like this, but he soon realized he was out of ammo.
“Tch, a rookie mistake.” he cursed himself, digging desperately for ammunition.
To his horror, he spotted his brother Yamato, walking towards him in a fast sprint. Hikari, having done significantly better at holding off two times the amount of demons Takeru had, and Meiko, being dogpiled by demons, both did their best to make their way to save Takeru.
All they could do is watch as “Yamato” pierced Takeru with a blade, and then crudely dropping him onto the pavement. Meiko did her best to hold off the horde, giving Hikari the chance to cradle her fiance.
With tears in her eyes, and his body going colder by the second, she prayed.
“God, angels, whoever is listening up there...Please...bring him back! I’ll do anything!”
A gentle feminine voice responded.
“Allow me in. That is all I need, and I will heal your beloved.”
“Like...Meiko?” she whispered, just loud enough that Meiko picked it up, and caused her to start charging towards Hikari.
“Yes. I ask you to accept now, and to accept when the day comes.”
“Can I know what that day is?”
“You will know soon enough. But I assure you, your fiance must survive for that day as well.”
“You had me at ‘heal your beloved’. Yes.”
A blinding white light poured down from the night sky onto Hikari, and with the force of an explosion, landed at her position. Half of the horde was smited on the spot, whilst Yamato and his group started to run away as quickly as they could, and vanished into thin air.
“You...It’s too soon.” Meiko said, in awe and fear of the powerful being before her using Hikari.
“Perhaps. But this is the best outcome. Takeru must survive for his time as a vessel for him. I will not abide by Hikari suffering needlessly.”
Meiko nodded, and stood still to watch as the light flowed from Hikari, casting four wings in shadow behind her, and her eyes shining a bright blue. The light then entered Takeru, and his eyes briefly glowed before he sat up, coughing loudly.
“What...what did you...”
“Relax, Takeru Takashi. She is safe.”
“Who...what are you!? GET OUT OF MY WIFE!”
Hikari smiled lightly, and placed a reassuring, yet firm grasp on Takeru’s left shoulder.
“You were gone. She would not accept your loss, so I came to help. And now that I have helped, I will leave. Be aware, you are watched over by angels, Takeru. We will forever guard your hope and light. This world has desperate need of both of you. As such, I have assigned...”
Hikari looked over at Meiko, who mouthed her vessel’s name so Hikari could identify her.
“...Meiko, to watch over you two.”
“Wait, but what are supposed to...”
Takeru turned away just long enough for Hikari to be freed, and she collapsed into his arms.
“Hikari! Please be okay, please be okay...”
Hikari smiled, and kissed Takeru’s lips, even though she was obviously exhausted.
“I...couldn’t do this alone Takeru.”
Takeru thought about yelling at her about her poor decision making, but decided against it, knowing he would be willing to make a deal with even a crossroads demon for Hikari’s sake.
“I know. I couldn’t do this without you either.”
The two then looked over at Meiko.
“...and apparently her too.”
Meiko seemingly vanished, but they spotted her nearly thirteen feet away at the backseat car door.
“May I ride with you? I have not had the chance to ride in one of these before.”
“..S-..sh-sure.” Takeru stammered, feeling incredibly awkward being the equivalent of an uninvited angel’s Uber driver.
Once all three were in the car, and back on the road, Takeru called Iori.
“Where the hell are you guys!? Taichi is nearly out the door to get you!”
“Iori, call everyone in. We have uh...We have a lot to catch you up on.”

DigiOTP Week: Superhero AU
Lois Lane Is Less Trouble Than This
Pairing: TaichixJyou (more flirty than anything)
Summary: As Earth's arguably strongest defender, Taichi has always felt protective of nonpowered heroes, but none of his colleagues drive him into as much distraction as one specific paramedic, who insist on throwing himself into dangerous situations.
Notes: This is more of a study on how these characters would translate into Superhero tropes than anything. I got pretty frustrated with this at one point since it refused to have proper plot, which is why it’s late. I do like the concept, though, so I might expand on it more in the future.
When Taichi was a small child, he took his little sister to the park to play. He hadn't realized that Hikari was still recovering from a nasty cold and the girl ended up having a relapse that caused her to be hospitalized. His parents had scolded him afterwards and emphasized that he had a responsibility, as the older brother, to keep his sister safe.
The memory of his sister's frailty wasn't a good one, but Taichi found strength in it, and he'd taken his responsibility as Hikari's brother and protector seriously. It made sense; he was bigger and stronger than her, so he'd take care of her. Just like how their parents took care of them.
The life lesson became something of a creed down the years. When Taichi was made captain of his soccer team, he dedicated himself to watching out for his teammates, instructing and guiding them. As captain, he had a responsibility to everyone in his team.
Taichi grew up big and strong, even beyond what you'd expect from just being sporty and athletic. He grew strong beyond human concepts of such things. Before he'd graduated school, he could already lift cars, run faster than the local bus and leap over any fence. By the time he did graduate, all of that was child's play to what he could really do. That was also around the time Taichi figured out he could fly and that he was impervious to most forms of harm.
Taichi wasn't the only one with such spectacular abilities. He found that out soon after his sister's eager suggestions led to creating a costume, an alternative persona, a big brother for the world at large instead of only his immediate surroundings. Some of the other superpowered beings thought like he did, that the power was to be used to help. Others thought differently, that their power made them right to take things, because no one could stop them and their power.
Those latter types, so sure of their strength, were Taichi's favorites to prove wrong, to show them undeniable proof that their power wasn't absolute.
Sometimes Taichi loved being the strongest being on the planet, when he could use it to help people in danger and to defeat human and inhuman monsters. However, there were still downsides.
No one could match Taichi in sheer power. That made it hard to measure just how much he could trust others to do. The other heroes Taichi had encountered hadn't reacted positively to Taichi's expressions of concern over their well-being. They all had other powers or extensive training in combat and Taichi was having some difficulty in adjusting to not everyone weaker than him being automatically someone under his protection.
There was a bunch of people who were only weaker than Taichi in comparison. They still accomplished feats far above normal humans. But these people had other superpowers or had trained for years.
The paramedic had no excuse.
Increased superpowered activity that caused a great deal of alterations in how emergency operations worked. Emergency personnel had instant access to all public spaces and some private ones, at all times, in case of a damaging battle or either naturally occurring or constructed disasters. Taichi was well aware of a lot of protocols involved in emergency work, coming from his civilian job as a dispatcher, but there was only so much riot gear could do for regular humans.
Even as Taichi heard about new threats as soon as someone called one in, it still took Taichi time to get to the location he needed to. He couldn't just suddenly vanish from work. First he needed to actually send someone in, after which he'd quickly contact Koushirou to cover for him while he snuck out. The good part about being friends with highly efficient alien A.I.s was that they were very good at responding to calls and collecting and sending data. It was like Taichi was right there.
Flight was possibly the most convenient power in Taichi's arsenal, and it allowed him to travel at great speeds, depending on how familiar he was with the area he needed to get to, of course. This time Taichi had to get to a fancy hotel, where a kidnapping attempt had been launched during what was supposed to have been a private meeting between high profile businessmen, called in by a fast-moving caterer.
Even as Taichi flew at top speed, by the time he landed on the high-end suite's balcony, the situation was already in the utter chaos of police and other personnel swarming the room.
"I shouldn't have taken that one left turn," Taichi murmured to himself, as he considered whether or not he should just leave, in case he got in the work.
Only then he spotted the paramedic. The paramedic, the one he thought about constantly because there was no one else as aggravating. It was obvious Taichi could fight against any threat; he was super strong, super fast and bullet proof. However, Jyou Kido was none of these things, and yet it seemed like he'd again gotten himself right in the middle of a situation, if the split lip was any indicator.
Taichi watched carefully as Jyou finished patching up the businessman, the intended kidnapping victim no doubt, and waited for the instant it took for Jyou to notice him staring through the glass door of the balcony. He wasted no moment crossing the room and opening the door.
"Mega Flame," Jyou said and Taichi couldn't help but like the way Jyou always used his superhero handle, with familiar fondness.
"Are you done here?" Taichi asked before Jyou could query about his presence. "Can I steal you away for a moment?"
Jyou smiled. "Sure." He gave some sort of a hand signal to the officer in charge before stepping onto the balcony with Taichi. No one was going to protest to the local superbeing taking off with anyone, let alone Jyou Kido. The paramedic had a very keen ability for getting himself right in the middle of serious crime and was something of an unofficial middleman between the city's own superhero and the emergency corps at large.
The familiarity between the two men was even more pronounced in the way Jyou settled against Taichi, arms around the broad shoulders of the hero, a secure hold that still couldn't withstand takeoff alone. So, with similar ease, Taichi wrapped his own arms around Jyou's waist, careful not to squeeze too tight as he took flight. He didn't care how well they padded the emergency gear, Taichi didn't like the thought of squeezing the stuffing right out of his best friends.
Taichi didn't take them far, finding a high enough and private enough rooftop soon enough, but through the entire flight Taichi's eyes kept being drawn to the small specks of red on Jyou's chin, even though the cut on his lip was already scabbing over. This chat was something that was a long time coming.
As Taichi settled them on the rooftop, Jyou easily got his footing and turned to give Taichi an expectant look. Taichi briefly recalled how, when they'd first started their acquaintanceship, that Jyou had used to get nervous about the heights Taichi was so drawn to. Now the other man was at ease with them, no doubt trusting that Taichi would catch him if he ever fell.
The thought that there might be more things Jyou always expected Taichi to save him from was the reason Taichi felt this discussion was needed. Sure, he wanted to protect everyone, but that didn't mean he always could.
"So, how did you get right in the thick of things this time?" Taichi asked, falling into usual banter easily despite his worry. "There were a bunch of cops in that room and none of them looked like they'd been punched in the face." Although he hadn't looked too closely; he was always more focused on Jyou than others.
Jyou sneered. "I'll have you know I was fully intending to let the police handle things this time." He thumbed his own lip, winced and seemed to decide to let it be. "The crook got out of their hold and I was between him and his target." He pointedly didn't say more and Taichi wondered just how much "you should have seen the other guy" applied here. Nothing could incite violence in Jyou quite like, well, violence.
"So you didn't just jump in recklessly?" Taichi felt it was important to confirm. You never knew with Jyou.
The look Jyou gave him in response was decidedly unimpressed. "I'm not that reckless."
"There was that bank robber you tackled just last week," Taichi pointed out. "And that mugger you knocked into a wall." Taichi shrugged "And those are just the scrapes you've gotten into this month."
Jyou huffed. "So I might have something of a pattern." He crossed his arms. "But it's not like I do it on purpose." The man frowned then. "Wait. Is this some sort of intervention? Do you get on anyone else's case like this?"
"You're special," Taichi said without thinking and then proceeded to flush. They were both silent after that, measuring and observing each other. "I just don't want you to get hurt," Taichi finally admitted to break the silence.
Jyou sighed, although there was a grateful smile on the edges of his mouth. "I get hurt when people suffer and I could have stopped it." He looked at Taichi imploringly. "You understand that, don't you?"
"Yeah, I do." He didn't want to admit it. "We're just too alike." He huffed. "But don't think that means I condone you risking yourself so often."
Jyou tapped a foot, once, twice, three times and then said: "What if I got training?"
"What?"
"Well, there's a bunch of superheroes with just training, and you're not getting on their case." Jyou spread his hands. "It's the obvious solution."
Taichi glanced Jyou over, tall and reasonably strong but nervous whenever he wasn't busy tackling someone or punching them out, a medic. Actually, it didn't sound like such a bad idea, especially since Jyou was a lot more emotionally balanced than the skulking Full Moon Taichi was sometimes forced to work with.
Of course, Full Moon had been training for years and had a general spite for the world at large going for him. But, it wasn't like Jyou was planning on pulling on a costume and going out looking for trouble. Knowing that the paramedic knew when to duck and roll might help Taichi not worry so much.
"I guess," Taichi conceded. "Just, remember that I can't be in all places at once? No unnecessary risks, okay?"
"I understand." Jyou quirked a brow at him, seemingly amused. "It's why this is so important to me. I just want there to be less things for you to worry about."
Taichi was completely and utterly invulnerable. However, that didn't mean he couldn't get flustered. "Thanks.”
Jyou grinned. "Hey, I'm 'special', remember?"
Oh, he was. Possibly the most special person Taichi knew.
