Is there a known reason or possible explanation/s for why the Carnotaurs and other abelisaurs evolved even shorter arms than T-Rex's?

So, the muscles in the neck area, as a rule, get really buff when theropods become large predators - it happened in Abelisaurs, it happened in Allosauroids, it happened in Megalosaurs, it happened in Tyrannosaurs. This is because, as the animal gets bigger, it tends to interact with prey and the environment more with its mouth and jaws than with its arms, because the mouth and jaws are more powerful and efficient. The musculature in the neck region directly conflicts with musculature in the upper arm for space, as they are next to each other. As such, as the muscles in the neck grow, the muscles in the arm shrink. This leads to a corresponding shrink of the arms in these large predators. In each line, if they had continued to evolve, they may have lost their arms a la Moas.

Abelisaurs, however, kept their tiny arms, and what's weird, is that the arm is attached to a completely 360 degree rotational socket, unlike the sockets the rest of us have at the arm. As such, they were able to wiggle and move them a LOT. This leads researchers to think that they were used, specifically, for display.

Remember everyone: every single dinosaur, every single one, is a variation of the peafowl.

What about the safety of their bodies? How scary would it be for a machine with thousands, maybe millions of throughs to suddenly have just a handful. The horror of everything going silent.

They have hundreds of eyes to see the world for all its beauty, they capture moments that would otherwise go unseen. Why blind themselves of such things?

You may have noticed, for example, lots of (western) media putting in moments like "oh capitalism sucks" just saying it out-loud, and maybe it's noticable that it feels a bit... shallow. Its because people are increasingly realizing how unsustainable and harmful capitalism is, but capitalism continues to commodify anti-capitalism while refusing to allow a solution. Its ok to say "anti-capitalism" on tv but its not ok to say "communism" because actually positioning any sort of thought for a solution is a threat

I have the annoyingly verbose form of autism, evidenced by the fact I use words like "verbose."

My partner has ADHD and struggles with blocks of text, whether it be processing the words, parsing the text, or even just having the attention span to finish reading the block. Apparently reading is notoriously hard for people with ADHD for a variety of reasons. I'm a hyperlexic autistic who loves reading scientific journals for fun so I don't know what thats like and it sounds unfortunate.

To combat this for my poor Aly, I leave TLDRs at the end of my text blocks in our discord DM, so that if her brain isn't cooperating with my excessive use of the English language she can read a couple sentences that sum up what I said instead!

I think it probably also helps me learn how to be brief when summarizing events to someone.

Either way, making things accessible doesn't have to be a huge grand project. You can just start using TLDRs when you write a big paragraph.

TLDR adhd makes reading hard so to help your adhd having homies you can put a little summary at the bottom of your paragraphs so they can get the idea of the conversation even with a bad attention span!

(I can’t remember if I already sent this to you; forgive me if I did.) I finally realized what part of the way people discuss Nathan’s Richmond roast doesn’t sit right with me. It’s not that I necessarily disagree that it’s not the healthiest form of expression, because while I think fandom puts way too much of the burden of that on Nathan himself rather than the entire environment, I do agree that it is evidence of how much he’s been influenced by the toxicity of his workplace. But I hate that it’s used as an example of why Nathan is supposedly uniquely harmful or immoral. Ted agreed the team needed to hear it and claimed that they couldn’t hear it from him, leaving Nathan’s spot to claim on the coaching staff being the “bad guy”. The team responded to it in a way they didn’t to more positive messaging.

A-fucking-greed. It's another example of how Nathan is held to a completely different standard than any of the white coaches. Fans have rightfully pointed out the sexism and overall mean-spiritedness of the roast. That kind of language should have no place in the workplace--but it does at Richmond. Moreover, it has a place in Ted's locker room.

Ted approved the roast--apparently without any notes. Ted told Nathan to say those things. When Nathan doubted whether he could or should deliver the roast, Ted reaffirmed that Nathan should--and that it would be fun.

Ted "men shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to get ready in the morning" Lasso told Nathan to call Isaac a pussy and ask Colin if he shaved his pubes.

To frame Nathan as uniquely sexist and laud Ted as some kind of feminist hero is... There is an entire body of transnational feminist literature on why it's fucked up and incredibly destructive to position brown men as uniquely misogynistic and white men as white knights. Like, this kind of rhetorical framing was used to justify killing Afghan women to save them from the Taliban.

This is getting away from me.

I'm not trying to say that Ted is ~just as bad~. I'm not concerned with who is bad and who is good and who gets to go to Protestant heaven and play acoustic guitar with Jesus for all eternity. I'm concerned with systems and how they can work better. Workplaces are systems. This fictional football club is a system, and I just wanna take it apart and put it back together better. Scapegoating Nathan (or anyone!) for all of this system's flaws is counterproductive to this aim.
