Amisha's father called us in December last year.

Her fees had been due since 2nd semester and @sharda_university had finally issued them a warning : "Fees भर दो नहीं तो final exams में बैठने नहीं देंगे।"

We helped them out marginally and I forgot about it. It wasn't until recently that I asked my team to check with them to see how they were faring.

Eventhough, I have never met these people, there was something that drew me to their plea.

Maybe it was Amisha's father's gratitude at that marginal help. We usually have people pleading with us for more and more and more. But here was this person thanking us for the little that we did.

Or maybe it was the fact that she lost her mother so young. I can't imagine my life without mine and I can't imagine my son's life without me.

Her father's words are still echoing in my ears, "अगर मैं टूट गया तो बिटिया का क्या होगा। एक ही तो बच्चा है हमारा।" This is a man who is yet to grieve over his wife. He thought she'd come back. But thats a story for another time.

Today.. I just want all the help to come through for her.

So, Please help. Please donate. Please share. Please let this motherless child fulfill her mother's last wish.

Who is an influencer? A person who directly or indirectly has an effect on people around him/her. Social media influencers are people who work hard in their respective fields (fashion/comedy/travel/food etc) in a most creative way so as to provide knowledge to people who are following them. Influence can either be good or bad. If an influencer promotes bad behaviour, it has a strong impact on the public. If they promote good/positivity, then also it has a strong impact on the public. They themselves have to deal with a lot of negativity that comes through people who criticize them not on the basis of their work but on the basis of their personality as a whole. This not only leads to self-criticism among influencers but also lowers down their confidence eventually impacting their work & performance. They strive everyday to make people around them happy but when people start abusing them for nothing and criticise JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE THEM OR THEIR STYLE, then it has a huge impact on THEIR mental health. This behaviour by people lowers down their morale and leads to various mental health disorders like Anxiety, Depression, Eating disorders, etc. Lets be kind to everyone and NOT JUDGE anyone. Yesterday I had to heard to Saket for some work and I also had to meet @manuchaturvedi & @dollysingh later in the evening . That is when I chanced upon this super clean , spartan Syrian restaurant in Saket kinda opposite the District center called Mec Syrianfoods. I have seen an almost identical menu at the Iraqi place called Middle East Cuisine in Huda City Center. While they serve Kurdish cuisine , I believe this one leans to the Syrian take on it which has geographical proximity to Syria and the larger Kurdistan encompasses northern parts of Syria, Turkey, Iraq etc. I need to finish my dinner by 6 pm, so I had some Quzi platter. Now Quzi has a fair degree of similarity with Mandi / Madfoon etc but Quzi has way lesser spice than the Yemeni counterparts. Quzi means lamb, so a melt in mouth slow-cooked lamb shanks is served but on a bed of rice , peas and nuts pilaf. Served with a salad, picked veggies, hummus and toum ( garlic aioli). While I am not a huge fan of al dente long grained rice, the whole meal works because of the varied flavors and acidity from salad, pickles and dips with the excellent meat. I also managed to get some yalanji , foul bi Laban, halawa for Manu & Dolly. I didn't realize all the food I got was vegetarian and it worked because both of them were happy with that . Yalanji in Turkish means fake because unlike the usual dolmas, they come with no meat, it is just some rice with some pickles wrapped in grape leaves. The foul mudammas Laban was just boiled Fava beans tossed with tahina , garlic , thin slivers of tomato & yogurt. Very flavorful with the Saj bread , we sipped some wine, Christmas in the air , Phoebe showering all her love on me , it was a fun night. P.S I also got some Tahini & Rose water thinking my mum would need it. Turns out the Tahini at home just finished & mum was also scouting for Panineer. Sadia Dehlvi was a Delhi-based activist, writer and a columnist with the daily newspaper, the Hindustan Times, and frequently published in Frontline and Urdu, Hindi and English newspapers and magazines. She was a devotee of KhwajaGharibNawaz of Ajmer and Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi. She criticised radical interpretations of Islam and called for a pluralistic understanding of Islam. She produced and scripted documentaries and television programs, including Amma and Family (1995), starring Zohra Sehgal, a veteran stage actor. Amma and Family was one of the brilliant show on Home TV, one of the finest channel of that time, couldn't sustain longer.
