Tegan once found herself in the mid-1980s. While here, she had an encounter with a rather stroppy teenaged waitress. This waitress was named "Dorothy." (Novel: The Crystal Bucephalus)

During funerals on Venus, the brain of the deceased is cut up and eaten by those attending. This was a way the deceased could live on as they would gain the deceased's memories this way. The First Doctor could take this in stride, but Barbara and Ian were a bit disturbed by it. (Novel: Venusian Lullaby)

Rassilon feared for the survival of the Time Lords so deeply that he sent biogenic molecules back in time that would force all life forms in the universe that were affected to evolve into something similar to what was the Gallifreyan standard. This is why so many species look similar. One time after stumbling on alien invaders, the Eighth Doctor and Charley used their acting skills to save the day. Charley became Lady Charleyostiantayshius, a Gallifreyan observer, and the Doctor became a transcriber from the High Council, who is pretty much Lady Charleyostiantayshius's excitable if a bit bumbling companion. They both wear the proper Gallifreyan regalia, and Charley was so good at her act that the Doctor thought she made a better Gallifreyan than he did. The Doctor convinces the captain of the alien fleet that there is a plague and gives him large quantities of the "vaccine," which is actually just straight up alcohol, so the captain gets wasted. Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti died in the electric chair on August 23, 1927. They were accused of killing two men during an armed robbery.

The trial and subsequent appeals attracted enormous interest internationally, and generated vehement protests. Sacco and Vanzetti were considered to be victims of prejudice against immigrants, Italians, Catholics, and anarchists. John Dos Passos, Dorothy Parker, Edna St. Vincent Millay, George Bernard Shaw, and Albert Einstein were among those who wrote about the case or signed petitions.

The photo above shows a demonstration in Union Square on the day of the men's execution.

Finally finished this longer comic I've been working on! 😵 The theme is Junkrat & Roadhog watching the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (?????). Worked hard this, so I hope you enjoy...!

Notes for people who haven't watched this movie:

cover is based on a DVD cover for the movie (which is the one i used to watch)

The title is a quote by Marilyn Monroe's character Lorelei Lee, where she says "I just love finding new places to wear diamonds" after seeing a diamond tiara for the first time

On pages 3~4, they're watching the opening number from the movie, "Two Little Girls from Little Rock"

On page 5, they're talking about the character Francis Beekman (aka "Piggy"), an old rich married man who controls a diamond mine. He's courting Lorelei, while Lorelei is also stringing him along because she wants his wife's diamond tiara (???)

panel 5 on page 5 is a reference to the fact that Lorelei calls her boyfriend "Daddy" in the movie (???)

page 7: Dorothy Shaw is Jane Russell's character in the movie. Lorelei & Dorothy are kind of a duo of opposites, with Lorelei being a dumb blonde mainly interested in money, and Dorothy being a snarky brunette who falls in love easily.

on page 8, Junkrat is singing his own version of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best friend"
