[To be loved is to be changed. And while being married to you has changed Mihawk, it's not entirely for the better. He's a possessive and protective lover to the marrow of his bones.]
(TW for unwanted sexual comments)
Mihawk knew the name 'Shantaro' quite well. Any time you told him a story from your adolescence that revolved around borderline illegal, unethical or simply reckless adventures, Shantaro was there. The little devil on your shoulder but as reliable as a true angel.
He, however, never expected you to run into Shantaro on the odd night when the two of you can go out. Comfortably basking in your presence, Mihawk is thoroughly enjoying your undivided attention.
Until.
You're suddenly rendered speechless as you notice something - someone - over his shoulder. A wide smile spreads across your face. Mihawk is unsure whether he should rejoice with how beautiful you look or seethe, knowing that another person dared to distract you from him.
"It's Shantaro!" you squeal excitedly. "I'm sorry, love, I'll be just a moment. I haven't seen her in ages!"
Mihawk doesn't even try to stop you as you make your way through the crowd at the lounge. His watchful gaze follows your steps as you approach a stringy woman in a silver dress. A hurricane of black curls sits on top of her head. Her piercing, grey eyes notice you, suddenly widening with both surprise and happiness. The two of you engulf each other in a bone-crushing hug, silently exchanging feelings of longing towards the closest friend from younger years.
The swordsman's night, however, is about to get even worse as he hears someone behind him whisper:
"She's a minx, that foxy wife of yours."
He turns around with his jaw and fists clenched. Mihawk's enraged gaze meets the face of an amused man who is casually sipping on his drink. There's a glint in the stranger's eyes that makes the swordsman's skin crawl - he wanted to get under Dracule's skin.
"Don't look so surprised," the stranger reprimands him. The man must have mistaken Mihawk's baffled expression at the bold words for genuine surprise that someone put two and two together. Truthfully, he couldn't care less whether people know that he's married. "Many pirates get hard fantasising about having their way with the Warlord's wife." Judging by the way the man licks his lips and hides a certain hunger behind his eyes, it's clear he's part of the aforementioned group. "But the Warlord himself? Unfortunately for him, she turns him soft," he drones the word as though it's a serious insult.
"Yes, she does," Mihawk answers slowly.
The events that followed happened exceptionally fast: Mihawk reached for the stranger's neck and slammed the man's head against the bar counter. Curiously, people happening to be in their vicinity carry on as though nothing bizarre is happening - they are smart enough not to get in Dracule Mihawk's way, especially when he is visibly upset.
Blood is gushing from the strange man's forehead, his eye already beginning to swell and change colour. The swordsman tilted his victim's head back just enough to lean down and growl. "Which is why I'm going to kill you much faster than you deserve for your offence."
Mihawk glances in your direction. You're still occupied, excitedly telling Shantaro about the years after you've last met her.
He'll be done before you notice him gone.

If you're interested I'd like to request some ftm Mihawk X service top Male reader, like goddam I really wanna worship this man and eat him out/mark him 😭
Ftm Dracule Mihawk x male reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
I love Mihawk, hes one of the few one piece characters I can look at and think “he definitely smells good”. I was listening to dark academia when writing this, since I felt it fit Mihawk.
Mixed terminology for Mihawks bits, like usual.
Mihawk carries a lot of stress in his day-to-day life, I mean, how couldn’t be. He doesn’t show it, at least not to those who don’t know him. But as his partner, you can spot it immediately when he’s more tense than usual.
There is nothing you love more than to make Mihawk feel good, which results in many people thinking you are some kind of lovesick fool. (for some reason I imagine Gomez and Morticia Addams in this dynamic)
Many thing Mihawk is cold, aloof and emotionless, that he doesn’t return your strong emotional acts, but you know he has his own ways to show his love. Like the way he lets you take care of him and puts down his defenses around you, in the way he caresses your cheek in the morning, or how he brings you small trinkets from his travels.
You cant help but yearn to make Mihawk feel as good as you possibly can, especially on days where he clearly needs to let off some steam.
It starts with a bath of the highest quality, with Mihawks favorite scents and soaps, where you’ll even go as far as wash his hair and beard for him, massaging at his tense shoulders and arms.
Massages has become one of the easiest ways to make Mihawk unwind, as he only lets you do it, so his body immediately knows its safe and that he doesn’t need to be on guard when you massage him.
He does grumble and give you a half-hearted glare when you start nipping and sucking hickeys on his neck and arms, calling you a possessive bastard, especially when you keep leaving hickeys where everyone can see as he goes around shirtless.
In the earlier period of your relationship, he would never allow it, but nowadays he lets you pick him up out of the bathtub, dry him off, even lets you rub his favorite lotion into his skin.
If you end up sliding to your knees between his thighs when he’s sitting on the counter, who but you two would know. Mihawk has never been much of a moaner or for making noise in general, but you can always see that your loving and caring touches lights a fire in him, as he’s always wet on your fingers when you rub them through his folds.
He leans back against the mirror as you lick and suck at his cock and folds, experience guiding you in the best ways to make his thighs quiver and breath stutter.
Only after hes cum will you pull back, wiping your mouth and picking your swordsman back up, moving him into the bedroom and laying him down on the silky sheets that cover the huge bed you guys share.
As much as Mihawk wants to keep going from where you left off in the bathroom, you just spread him out and go off to grab the massage oil, rolling him onto his front so you can start actually working into his back.
Mihawk always feels your erection pressing against the small of his back as you knead at his tight muscles, something inside him feeling hot and gooey at the knowledge that you are so aroused, but you always want to take care of him more.
You take the chance to leave more bites and hickeys as you work down his back and to his legs, spreading his thighs apart so you can rub at them too. Of course, you take the chance to lift his hips a bit and lick through his folds again, causing Mihawk to gasp into the sheets.
The fact that you are the only person to see Mihawk Dracule like this, splayed out across the sheets and so relaxed, muscles lax and hips rolling lazily back against your tongue, almost has you bursting right then and there.
As you keep eating him out, you rub down as much of his legs as you can, pulling away from his cunt with a string of fluids connecting your tongue and his heat so you can scoot down and rub down his feet too, much to Mihawks annoyance.
Rolling him onto his back, you do the same to his front, making sure to kiss at his top surgery scars and leave bites down his stomach, before sucking his cock between your legs as you hike on of his legs over your shoulder.
Mihawk is a vision as he basks in pleasure, arms tucked under his head and eyes half lidded as they look down at you. He looks soft and pliable, but somehow still so powerful, even as he lets you pretty much worship him with your hands and mouth.
Its only after he mumbles for you to get on with it that you slide fingers into him, crooking them just the way he likes as you roll his cock in lazy circles with your tongue, the flat side of your tongue rubbing the bundle of nerves enough to send a tingling feeling up his spin.
As you open him up, you make sure to mumble compliments, about how strong he is, how much you love him and his body, how much you think about him and crave him whenever he is away.
All this praise and touching culminates in a second orgasm, starting slowly in his stomach and warming over time, as you of so lazily draw it out of him, your movements and actions having no rush even as he gasps, thighs clamping down on either side of your head.
As he calms down from the orgasm, you move away from his crotch to press kisses against his lower stomach instead, rubbing a loving hand up and down his thigh so as to not overstimulate him.
At some point Mihawk grabs onto your hair and pulls at it, pulling you up on top of him instead, hooking his legs around your hips as he stares at you intensely. Theres no need for words to express what he wants, especially as his pupils are bigger than normal, and there’s a flush to his cheeks.
Your pants and boxers are easily kicked off to the floor, and after slipping on a condom, you carefully push inside his slit, all the prep and work to make him relax easing the way, making it easy for you to bottom out.
What you two experience is more like the act of making love, compared to fucking. Hips rolling in slow loose thrusts, lips pressing together in an open-mouthed kiss as you breathe one another in as hands explore and grab at whatever flesh they can find.
There is no hurry, like there has been no hurry the entire night, its all about making Mihawk feel good in your eyes, your own need for orgasm completely leaving your mind, or maybe having never even been present in the first place.
The third orgasm Mihawk experiences has his eyes clenching shut, mouth dropping open into a beautiful O shape, as soundless moans tremble out of him, cunt gripping tighter onto your shaft as he shudders through it.
His toes curl and fingers dig into your back, Mihawk almost forgetting to breathe until you remind him, making him gasp. You almost want to pull out, since your own end means nothing, but Mihawks legs stay locked around your hips, rocking you in and out of him.
Your orgasm leaves your vision going black for a second or two, the feeling washing through you like a wave as you grunt and cling closer to your lover, filling the latex wrapped around your shaft with a moan, mixed with yet another mumble of praise for the man you love.
You two stay pressed up against each other for a while, just basking in the others presence, until it starts to get uncomfortable.
Pulling out, you discard of the soiled condom, and go about cleaning up, getting new sheets on the bed, and wiping your lover down as he lays lax and half asleep, though Mihawk is never fully asleep until you crawl back into bed with him.
Its only times like this that he gets to completely relax, falling asleep against your side as you caress his hair and rub his back. Its some of the best sleep Mihawk ever gets, knowing that you are there to love him and care for him. The multiple orgasms also help with putting him to sleep.
Its only after Mihawk is completely asleep that you close your eyes. You never go fully to sleep, keeping some of your consciousness alert, just in case you’ll end up needing it. Its mainly to allow Mihawk to get the deep sleep he needs, without having to worry about keeping his guards up himself. And you’ll do anything for your partner.

Imagine reuniting with Shanks with Mihawk's help...
Running up to Shanks, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders as you gave the man your biggest hug. Shanks welcomed the gesture and squeezed just a little tighter, relieved that you were alive and well.
He pressed a kiss into your shoulder and then pulled back, his eyes filled with renewed hope.
“How did you find me?
“I had some help.” You shrugged.
Another pair of footsteps joined the beachfront and you moved to the side a little to reveal the feathered-hat wearing pirate.
“More like manipulated their way into getting my help.” He said with a casual monotone.
You couldn’t help but smile with a small eye roll. “Don’t lie. You enjoy my company.”
Mihawk let out a sigh. “Unfortunately, I find you tolerable than most.”
Shanks leaned in a little. “That’s a compliment, right?”
You replied with a small nod and then reached into your pocket to retrieve a small gold dial. Stepping forward, you held it out to the man who despite your complaints and insistence, dropped everything and agreed to help.
“I don’t have much on me - especially after we lost most of it when we jumped off that building at Log Town. But consider this my token of thanks.” You told him kindly, all jokes aside.
Mihawk looked at the trinket and then at you. “Keep it. I expect we’ll run into each other again.”

111. “Be a good girl/boy for mommy/daddy.”
"It's not gonna hurt, I promise, this is just so I can get it in deeper." Mihawk cooed against your lips as his hands traveled down your body, soothing your nerves the best as he can. "I would never hurt you babygirl. Don't you know that by now?" He used his hands to gently guide your hips upwards, until he was facing his prize. "Pretty little thing."
In this positing there was no closing your legs, no hiding your face, no hiding how horny you were to be looked at with such lust and desire, "This position is a little embarrassing." Unfortunately you only had the pillow to hide your face in and even then you knew he could still see you.
Mihawk let out a small laugh as he rose up and poked the tip of his cock into your opening, "Is it now? I don't see why, I'm admiring you aren't I? You deserve to be told how pretty you are, how good you are, you deserve all the cum that your pussy wants." With every word he sunk in deeper and deeper, until a mutual sigh left your bodies when he was buried in your pussy all the way to the balls. It didn't hurt at all, despite his whole length being inside you but it was still embarrassing to look at his cock going in and out with that thick ring of cum forming on your folds.
You could feel every thrust hitting the same spot, stimulating you beyond what you through was possible. You had to hold onto him, you had to do something or else you'd fully lose yourself to this wonderful feeling. Seeing as his hands were still on your hips you grabbed them, reinforcing his grip on you. Mihawk seemed to take it as a sign to go faster, harder.
"That's it baby. Be a good girl for daddy. I want to see you enjoy yourself to the fucking fullest tonight. Speaking of being full..." Both of you seemed to get lost in a frenzy of lovemaking, Mihawks thighs hitting your ass, you whimpering so much when you'd feel him pull out even a little bit. You knew he had to but you didn't want him to, so you powered through the embarrassment of your next move and wrapped your legs around him, limiting how far back he could go. "Don't wanna let go of my dick eh?" His breathing got shorter, more shallow, body and muscles clenching, the veins on his arms bulging right before he snapped his hips forward and released his cum deep into your womb.
You dared to look down again, right in time to see him pull out, his cock dripping with white cum, dripping all over your clit and stomach. "Put it back in." It was rare that you made such demands, but Mihawk was all too happy to accept them. Under one condition.
"Only if you watch me." It didn't matter how sensitive your inner walls were to his cock or how much your face burned, you watched your cunt take every last inch of him.

The village was small. Not what Mihawk was expecting to find the quarry that Vice Admiral Garp told him to kill. He walked around the village before settling to find information about you at a bar.
“What can I get you?” The lady working the bar asked as she approached him.
“Red wine if you have it,” he tells her.
“One glass coming up,” she tells him before pouring a drink for him.
“Do you know anywhere I can find someone named Y/n L/n?” Mihawk asked.
“Don’t know who you’re talking about. Never heard anyone by that name here.”
Mihawk could tell that she was lying. But she seemed calm about it so he wouldn’t press onto it.
“Alright. No worries. I just had a message to deliver to her from someone,” Mihawk said. The woman nodded before walking away to clean the bar more.
Mihawk paid for his drink before walking out of the bar. He headed to the outer part of the village where he saw a small house and a woman in the garden. He got closer and saw that it was you based on the description Vice Admiral Garp gave to him. Though he was a little surprise with your aura.
“You don’t seem like someone who can harm a fly."
He watched as you turned around to look at him. Mihawk couldn’t deny that you were beautiful.
“I can hurt a fly. Don’t think I’m good at harming anyone else,” you tell him as you stood up. Your arms are crossed defensively but Mihawk had no intention of hurting you anymore.
“I see.”
“I know who you are so what do you want?” You asked him. A bold one, Mihawk thought to himself.
“I was sent to kill you but in all honesty, I don’t think I can kill you. You’re too beautiful to be killed,” Mihawk tells you.
“Who sent you to kill me?” You asked worriedly as you took a step back.
“Not to worry now. I don't have any intentions to kill you anymore," he tells you. Truthfully, Mihawk would be more upset if anyone hurt you. Even if he did meet you just now.
“Then why are you still here?” You questioned.
“I'm curious to see why someone would send me to go after you,” Mihawk tells you as he took a step forward.
“Feel free to stay. Just to tell you, it's going to be quite boring,” you tell him before picking up your basket.
“Allow me,” Mihawk said as he walked over and grabbed the basket from your hands.
“It’s not that heavy,” you pointed out.
“No. But how else am I to make you to start trusting me?” Mihawk asked.
“By not killing me.”
“I will do no honor in killing you,” Mihawk said.
Mihawk sat on a chair as he watched you sort out your fruits and vegetables in your kitchen. It felt awkward knowing a famous warlord was watching you sort out the food you picked from your garden.
“How long do you plan on staying?” You asked.
“Until I’m needed elsewhere,” Mihawk answered truthfully.
“Do you have a place to stay?” You asked him.
“Don’t worry about me darling. Just continue what you’re doing,” Mihawk tells you. You nodded before picking up the basket with the food you were going to sell.
“I’m heading to the market now. I don’t know if you want to join me or if you want to stay here,” you tell him.
“I’ll join you,” Mihawk tells you before joining you in the market.
You traded some fruits and vegetables for some meat before selling off the rest. Mihawk watched a close eye on you as he followed you around. Everyone was too scared to question the warlord behind you but he didn’t care. His main focus was you.
The next day, he showed up at your front door.
“Did you eat breakfast yet?” You asked him.
“Yes.”
“Okay. I need to go to my job and I don’t think a warlord is going to be comforting to the kids,” you tell him before grabbing your things to head into town.
Before, you would just only teach Luffy. But since the school needed a new teacher, you became the village’s teacher.
“I’ll walk with you then,” Mihawk offered.
“Okay.”
Mihawk took your bag in his hands before following you to the school.
“You don’t have to wait for me you know. I’ll be at the school for a while,” you tell him.
“Who’ll carry your bag then?” Mihawk asked.
“I’m not some helpless woman you know. I can carry my own bag,” you tell him. Mihawk just stared at you as you walked inside the school.
Mihawk didn’t do much as he waited for you. He did grab you some pastries from the bakery before heading back to the school to wait for you again.he could hear the people talk about seeing the warlord waiting by the school for the teacher. He didn’t mind for once.
“Did you wait the entire time?” You asked Mihawk after you finished saying bye to your last student.
“I wasn’t doing much anyway,” Mihawk tells you as he handed you the box of pastries. He took your bag again in exchange.
Thank you,” you said as you looked up at him.
Mihawk gave you a nod before the two of you walked back to your home.
“No tending to the garden today?” Mihawk asked you.
“I will. I just need to prep for dinner tonight,” you tell him.
“Why don’t I tend to your garden?” Mihawk offered.
“You know how to garden?”
“I know my way around. Where’s your basket?”
“Um by the door.”
“Won’t be long,” Mihawk tells you before walking out.
As you cooked dinner, you accidentally touched the hot pan making you hiss in pain.
“Ow!”
You didn’t think Mihawk heard you until he rushed through the door with a full basket. He placed the basket on the table before he checked on you.
“What happened? What’s wrong?”
“Just burned myself.”
Mihawk quickly grabbed your bucket of water before gently putting your finger in the cool liquid.
“Thanks.”
“Of course.”
"I made extras if you'd like. I got used to cooking for two," you tell him as you took your hand out and dry it with a towel.
“Was it for you and your past lover?” Mihawk asked. He noticed the ring dangling from a chain on your neck the moment he met you. But there were no signs of him anywhere in your home.
“Not really surprisingly. I used to take care of a little boy who used to live with me who had a bottomless stomach. He wanted to become a pirate so he set sail a year ago," you tell him.
“I see.”
“So, dinner?” You asked.
“Why not,” Mihawk said as he put his sword away.
Mihawk cleaned up before sitting with you at the table.
“I hope you like it,” you tell him. Mihawk took a bite of the food, nodding in approval afterwards.
“It’s good.”
“Thank you!”
“You should let me cook for you sometime,” Mihawk tells you.
“What kind of food do you cook?”
“Anything that can go well with red wine.”
“You like red wine?”
“I do. It’s a classical drink.”
“Maybe I’ll buy us a bottle and we can have a drink together,” you tell him.
“Or I can get it along with some other supplies for when I cook.”
“Are you sure?”
“Please. Let me cook for you next time.”
“Alright. Deal.”

I don't know if you do requests, but could I ask for a Mihawk x Rescued! Former slave! reader. Lets say she was saved when he tried to destroy Don krieg's battle ship, and she is brought to the mansion and make friends with Perona. But she tries to leave when she realizes she has feelings for him and she feels like dead weight. But he catches her trying to sneak out because he's Mihawk, duh.
Okay, but jokes aside, she gets corner by the baboons and Mihawk shows up and they skedaddle. And then flufffff
Thank you for bearing with me for this chonky request.

Pairing: Dracule Mihawk x Y/N
Content: Trauma
A/n: This will probably be a series since I want to add pieces that will make it a better story. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing this! WC: <3
┗━━✦❘༻༺❘✦━━━━✦❘༻༺❘✦━━━━✦❘༻༺❘✦━━━┛
In a tumultuous sea battle between the infamous swordsman, Dracule Mihawk, and the notorious pirate Don Krieg, a mysterious figure caught Mihawk's attention amidst the chaos. As Mihawk's blade clashed with Krieg's forces, he noticed a young woman, a former slave.
Her appearance was a stark contrast to the opulent attire and extravagant weapons of the pirates. Yet, despite her disheveled appearance, there was an air of resilience about her. Mihawk couldn't help but be intrigued by this woman, wondering what hardships she had endured and what secrets she held within her.
Unexpectedly, her eyes met his from that far distance, and Mihawk felt himself freeze for a second, captivated by the intensity and determination he saw within her gaze.
He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this young woman than met the eye, and he vowed to uncover the secrets she held, even if it meant venturing into uncharted territories.
"Hey! Focus on me!" Don Krieg yelled, releasing at least a hundred missiles at Mihawk.
With a swift movement, Mihawk deflected the bombs with his sword, effortlessly dodging the explosions. He knew he had to concentrate on the battle at hand, but the image of the mysterious woman lingered in the back of his mind, fueling his curiosity.
As Mihawk engaged in a fierce duel with Don Krieg, his sword danced through the chaos, effortlessly parrying each strike with calculated precision. The clash of steel reverberated through the air, echoing the intensity of their struggle.
Mihawk's focus remained unwavering, yet his thoughts kept drifting back to the enigmatic woman, her presence adding an element of intrigue to the already tumultuous battle.
After swiftly dispatching Don Krieg and his forces, Mihawk turned his gaze towards where the young woman had stood, only to find an empty space devoid of any trace of her.
"Where did you go?" He muttered to himself, placing his sword into his scabbard. . . .
══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿════✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
Why is Dracule Mihawk here?! You thought finding cover behind a tree to catch your breath would provide a momentary respite from the chaos. You leaned against the trunk to feel the pointy edges against your back, confirming that this wasn't a dream.
The only time that the ship stopped on land was because of the best swordsman in the world. What luck did you have?
"It's okay," you reassured yourself, "All you have to do is wait it out and run somewhere, anywhere, as long as it's away from here."
"Where are you supposed to run to when it is an isolated island?"
You jumped at the voice behind you and quickly turned around to see Dracule Mihawk sizing you up. His piercing gaze bore into your soul, as if trying to unravel the mysteries hidden within. The thought of running away vanished as you realized that escape was futile in the presence of the world's greatest swordsman.
As he continued to study you, you couldn't help but wonder if there was more to his interest in you than mere curiosity.
"What do you want from me?" you muttered, fear gripping your voice.
The intensity of Mihawk's gaze only deepened as he leaned closer, his words cutting through the tension-filled air, "You're different. There's something about you that intrigues me."
"Are- Are you going to kill me?"
"Why would I? You do not pose a threat towards me," Mihawk answered, taking a small cautious step towards you. "Do you?"
"No!" you blurted out, your voice trembling with fear and confusion. Mihawk's gaze softened slightly as he observed your reaction, a hint of curiosity still lingering in his eyes.
"Good," he said before turning around and walking away, leaving you standing there, still shaken from the encounter. His departure only deepened the mystery surrounding his interest in you, leaving you to ponder the true intentions of the world's greatest swordsman.
As you tried to make sense of Dracule Mihawk's presence on the isolated island, a realization struck you - he must have arrived by some means other than the sinking ship. Perhaps he possessed his own means of transportation.
"Wait!" you yelled, trying to stand up, but your legs felt weak and shaky. Mihawk glanced back briefly, his gaze filled with a mixture of amusement and intrigue.
"Is there a way off this island? Can you help me escape?" you asked, desperation evident in your voice.
Mihawk fully turned around and said, "I have my boat, but it won't be easy. The waters surrounding this island are treacherous, and only a skilled navigator like myself can navigate them safely. If you're willing to take the risk, I can help you escape."
With a glimmer of hope in your eyes, you gather all your courage and reply, "I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get off this island. Please, I'll do anything."
Mihawk replied, his voice tinged with a hint of satisfaction, "Very well. In that case, prepare yourself. Our journey off this island begins now."
Without wasting a moment, you quickly stood up and followed Mihawk, determined to seize this opportunity for freedom.
The anticipation of what lay ahead filled your heart with a mix of excitement and trepidation, as you embarked on a perilous journey alongside the enigmatic swordsman. . . .

"This is your ship?" you asked, shocked to see the small ship that Mihawk owned. It was nothing like you had imagined, but you didn't have time to dwell on it as Mihawk gestured for you to come aboard.
"This ship may be small, but it's fast and maneuverable," Mihawk explained. "It was originally designed for one person, but I'll made an exception for you. We'll need to make some adjustments to accommodate both of us, but it should suffice for our journey off this island."
You couldn't help but feel a twinge of doubt as you continued to stare at the small ship. It seemed inconceivable that such a modest vessel could withstand the treacherous waters surrounding the island.
Nevertheless, you pushed aside your reservations and reminded yourself that Mihawk was regarded as the world's greatest swordsman for a reason.
You stepped onto the ship and made your way to the back, settling into a small space that had been cleared for you. Mihawk, on the other hand, took his place on the main seat at the front, his eyes fixed on the horizon.
As the ship began to move, you couldn't help but feel a combination of nervousness and anticipation, wondering what awaited you beyond the treacherous waters.
You decided to make yourself as small as possible, curling up in a corner to not take up any space. The gentle rocking of the ship and the soothing sound of the water soon had a calming effect on you, lulling you into a deep sleep.
It was the first time that you had slept for so long without any interruptions.
Either it was because you had to change shifts with another slave or a guard thought that you were too comfortable and decided to give you a massage which left you many bruises on your back.
Though you woke up to the sound of the ground crunching beneath you, you realized with a start that you were no longer on the ship.
You opened your eyes to see that you were being carried by someone. Panic surged through you as you frantically looked around, trying to make sense of your surroundings. It was then that you noticed the familiar face of Mihawk, his expression unreadable as he effortlessly held you in his arms.
"Calm down," Mihawk muttered, his voice soothing and reassuring. "We've reached our destination. You fell asleep on the ship, so I carried you off. We're safe now."
You looked at where they were heading and saw a huge dark castle in the distance, its towering spires piercing the night sky. The sight sent shivers down your spine, as you couldn't help but wonder what mysteries and dangers awaited you within those ominous walls.
"What is that?"
"That's my house," Mihawk said casually, as if mentioning that he owned a small cottage by the seaside.
You couldn't believe your ears as you stared at the imposing castle, realizing that you had just stepped into the lair of the world's greatest swordsman.
"Why are we at your house?"
"Because you need to get bandaged up and I need to rest," Mihawk replied, his eyes scanning the castle's surroundings for potential threats.
"My house is equipped with everything we need to tend to our wounds and recover. Plus, it's the safest place for us right now."
You kept quiet as you saw the castle get bigger and closer, the sense of foreboding intensifying with each step. The eerie silence that enveloped the surroundings only added to your unease, making you question the true nature of Mihawk's "house" and what secrets it held within its walls.
"We're here," he said in a very nonchalantly tone.
As you looked around, you noticed the thick iron door of the castle slowly creaking open, revealing a grand entrance that seemed to lead into the heart of darkness.
Your heart raced with a mixture of fear and curiosity, wondering what awaited you on the other side.
As you entered the castle, the lights switched on by themselves, illuminating the grandeur of the place. The flickering candlelight danced off the intricate tapestries and ancient suits of armor, creating an eerie yet mesmerizing atmosphere. It was clear that this was no ordinary home, but a place steeped in history and power.
"Mihawk! Why are you back so early!" a voice came from inside the castle, echoing through the grand halls. You followed Mihawk's gaze and saw a figure emerging from the shadows, their eyes filled with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
The figure that emerged from the shadows was a woman. With her signature pink hair and a frilly black dress, she exuded an air of both elegance and mischief.
Her wide eyes sparkled with curiosity as she took in the sight of you in Mihawk's arms, clearly intrigued by your presence in their mysterious castle.
"Perona, this is our guest for now, treat her with respect," Mihawk stated firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Perona's eyes widened even further as she assessed you, her curiosity turning into a mischievous smile.
"Oh, how delightful! A new playmate," she exclaimed, her voice dripping with excitement and a touch of malice.
As you tried to process Perona's words, you felt a chilling breeze on your back. Startled, you turned around and to your astonishment, you found yourself being held by a translucent, ghost-like figure instead of Mihawk.
The figure's eyes glowed with an ethereal light as it floated effortlessly, its presence sending a shiver down your spine.
"Come along!" Perona said excitedly, also floating and headed upstairs, her frilly black dress billowing around her.
Reluctantly, you followed Perona, your eyes fixed on the ghostly figure that carried you. Its ethereal presence seemed to be bound to Perona, as if it were her loyal companion in this eerie castle.
As you ascended the stairs, you stole a quick glance down to the first floor, where you had caught a glimpse of Mihawk before. However, to your surprise, Mihawk was nowhere to be seen.
It was as if he had vanished into thin air, leaving you alone with Perona and the mysterious ghostly figure. The air grew colder, and a sense of unease settled over you as you continued to follow Perona deeper into the heart of the castle.
"What's your name?" Perona asked, floating closer to you with a mischievous grin. Her pink hair seemed to glow in the dim light of the castle as she eagerly awaited your response.
"My name is Y/N," you replied, feeling a mixture of apprehension.
"Y/N? That's such a good name," Perona complimented as she continued to float, leading you deeper into the castle. The ghostly figure holding you seemed to emit an eerie glow, its presence becoming increasingly unsettling as you ventured further into the unknown.
Perona finally stopped in front of a door and quickly opened it, getting inside. The ghostly figure followed suit, its ethereal form gliding into the room.
As you stepped into the room, you were immediately captivated by its opulence. The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries, and the furniture was ornately carved with delicate details.
The room was filled with plush cushions, silk curtains, and a grand canopy bed fit for a princess. The soft glow of candlelight illuminated the space, casting a warm and inviting ambiance. It was as if you had stepped into a fairytale, and for a moment, you forgot the eerie presence that had brought you here.
"This is my bedroom," Perona said as the ghost placed you on the edge of her bed.
"It's really nice," you said, speechless of the sight of the room.
Perona chuckled, her mischievous grin widening. "Now let's get you a bath and some new clothes, the ragged look does not fit you," she joked, gesturing towards a luxurious en-suite bathroom.
The thought of a warm bath and fresh attire was tempting, but you couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling that lingered in the air.
As you tried to stand up, your legs did not cooperate with you and started to make you fall. Panic surged through you as you grasped for something to hold onto, but all you could grasp was thin air.
Luckily, Perona was beside you and was able to catch you in time, preventing you from falling to the ground. She held onto you, her ethereal grip providing a surprisingly strong support, and helped you regain your balance.
"Are you okay?" Perona panicked, concern evident in her voice as she held onto you tightly.
"Yeah, I'm alright," you muttered, trying to downplay your momentary loss of balance. But deep down, you couldn't shake off the feeling that something was seriously wrong with your body.
"Let's get you a bath now, maybe that will make you feel better," Perona suggested, guiding you to the bathroom.
The bathroom was an extension of the opulence that permeated the rest of the room. Marble countertops, gilded fixtures, and a large clawfoot bathtub took center stage, surrounded by intricate tilework and a crystal chandelier that sparkled overhead.
Perona guided you into the bath with utmost care, ensuring that you were comfortable every step of the way. She adjusted the water temperature to your liking and gently helped you settle into the luxurious clawfoot bathtub, making sure you were fully supported.
As the warm water enveloped your body, you couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and gratitude for Perona's kind and attentive nature.
Unable to take the silence anymore, you decided to make a joke.
"Is this how you treat all your guests?" you joked, a playful smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you hugged your knees close to you.
"Actually, you're our first guest," Perona said, kneeling beside the bathtub. "But I must say, you're making quite the impression already. We've been waiting for someone like you for a long time."
"What do you mean?" you asked curiously, facing Perona.
"You see, that old man Mihawk has been so lonely for all his life, it was time that he had some love in his life," Perona explained, her voice filled with a mix of sympathy and affection.
"What do you mean?" you said, feeling your face heat up at her words, unsure if you had heard her correctly. Perona's eyes softened as she looked at you, her voice filled with sincerity.
"Mihawk has been searching for a companion, someone to share his life with. And it seems like fate has brought you to us."
"That can't be," you protested, your voice trembling with uncertainty. "He only brought me here because he pitied me since I was the survivor of the fight that he was in. I can't be the companion he's looking for."
Perona's expression remained gentle as she reached out to touch your hand. "Believe me, it's more than just pity," she reassured you. "Mihawk sees something special in you, something that goes beyond mere circumstance."
You kept quiet, thinking deeply about what she said. Did the greatest swordsman in the world really think that about you? Fall in love with a small peasant? No way.
"Let's get you clean first," Perona said, getting the shampoo and rubbing your hair, getting the dirt out.
As she continued to wash your hair, she whispered, "You may doubt it now, but Mihawk's feelings for you are genuine. He sees in you a strength and resilience that he admires, and that's why he brought you here."
As Perona continued to massage your hair, her gentle touch and the soothing sound of the water made you feel incredibly relaxed. Despite your doubts, the weight of the day started to lift off your shoulders, and you couldn't help but feel yourself drifting off to sleep in her caring hands.
"Y/N, Y/N?"
You quickly straightened your back and looked at Perona, trying to shake off the drowsiness. "Yes Perona," you said softly.
"I'm done washing your hair, is my massaging that good?" Perona teased, standing up to stretch her legs and arms.
You blushed and smiled at Perona's playful comment. "Yes, Perona, your massaging is amazing. I've never felt so relaxed before," you admitted, feeling grateful for her presence and the unexpected turn your life had taken.
"My treatment isn't over yet, you need new clothes," Perona said excitedly, running out of the bathroom to find some clothes that would fit you properly.
As you watched her leave, a mixture of curiosity and anticipation filled your heart, wondering what other surprises this new chapter of your life would bring.
Slowly, you got out of the bath and walked over to where the towels were hung from. As you dried yourself, something caught your eye in the mirror; it was your back.
It was a painful reminder of the abuse you had endured throughout your life. The scars crisscrossed your back, telling stories of pain and suffering. As you stared at your reflection, you felt disgust and guilt fill your heart.
How was Perona not disgusted by you? How could you show that to her? She must have pitied me as well.
"Hey Y/N, are you okay?" Perona asked, her reflection showing in the mirror as well, standing at the doorway. She looked at you with genuine concern in her eyes, her expression filled with empathy and understanding.
"Yeah, I'm fine," you said, quickly covering your back with the towel. You didn't want Perona to see the scars and be burdened with your past.
"I've got your outfits ready," Perona informed, her voice filled with excitement. "I picked out some clothes that I think you'll love."
You nodded, walking out of the bathroom and seeing the different outfits on the racks. Perona's taste in fashion was impeccable, and you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement as you imagined yourself wearing the carefully selected clothes.
Though all of the outfits were dresses, you couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. As someone who has always been in pants and shirts, you wondered if Perona truly understood your personal style.
Nevertheless, you decided to give the dresses a chance and hoped that they would make you feel as confident and beautiful as Perona saw you.
"Sorry, all I have are dresses."
"It's okay," you assured, taking the first dress and going back to the bathroom.
When you properly looked at the dress, you realized that this was a bad idea. It was a style that you would never choose for yourself. Maybe it was because you are only able to wear one set of clothes - too frilly, too feminine, and completely foreign to you.
But Perona had put so much thought and effort into selecting these outfits for you that you decided to suck it up and wear the dress. You wanted to show her that you appreciated her gesture and were willing to step outside of your comfort zone for her.
Plus, who knows, maybe trying something new could be a positive change for you.
As you looked into the mirror, you couldn't help but feel a sense of shock at the person staring back at you. The dress completely transformed your appearance, making you almost unrecognizable to yourself.
Despite your initial hesitation, you took a deep breath and reminded yourself that sometimes stepping outside of your comfort zone can lead to unexpected growth and self-discovery.
You walked out of the bathroom and immediately looked at Perona for her reaction. Her eyes widened as she took in your appearance, and a wide smile spread across her face. "You look absolutely stunning!" she exclaimed, her excitement evident in her voice.
"Thank you," you replied shyly, grateful for Perona's kind words and validation.
"This is why we need to show you off to Mihawk," Perona stated happily, her eyes gleaming with excitement. You couldn't help but blush at her words, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation building up inside you.
Lost in your own thoughts and the rush of confidence from trying something new, you were so absorbed in your own bubble of happiness that you didn't even hear Perona's statement about showing you off to Mihawk.
Then you felt as if you had been picked up again by someone.
Startled, you turned your head to the side and made eye contact with the ghost, who had picked you up once again.
"Let's go," Perona smiled, floating again and led the way. You clung onto the ghost, feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity as you followed her through the halls, eager to see where this unexpected journey would take you.
As you followed Perona through the halls, you couldn't help but admire the grandeur of Mihawk's mansion. The elegant decor and intricate artwork displayed in every corner showcased his impeccable taste.
It didn't take long for Perona to lead you to Mihawk's study room, and as you entered, you were immediately struck by the air of wisdom and power that seemed to emanate from the room.
Mihawk seemed oblivious to your presence, deeply engrossed in the book he was reading. His intense focus and the way he furrowed his brows as he turned the pages only added to his mysterious aura.
"Mihawk, I brought Y/N here," Perona said with a hint of pride in her voice, gesturing towards you. "Doesn't she look stunning?" she exclaimed, treating you as if you were a prized possession on display.
When Mihawk looked up from his book, the both of you had immediate eye contact, and his eyes widened in astonishment at the sight of you.
It was as if time stood still for a moment, and you could feel the intensity of his gaze as he took in your transformed appearance.
Did he not like your dress? Did he not like you getting too close to Perona?
"Perona, can you leave the two of us alone?" Mihawk ordered, his gaze never leaving yours.
Perona then whispered, "Good luck, even though you might not need it. Mihawk has never shown such interest in anyone before. You must have made quite an impression."
Perona nodded and floated out of the room, leaving you alone with the enigmatic swordsman.
The intensity of his gaze made your heart race, and you couldn't help but wonder what thoughts were running through his mind.
"Come sit here," he said, gesturing to the chair beside him.
As the ghost moved, it gently dropped you onto the chair beside Mihawk. You sat in the seat, trying to steady your nerves as you waited for him to speak. The silence in the room was palpable, and you couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and uncertainty about what was to come.
Even as you tried to settle into the chair, Mihawk's piercing gaze never wavered.
"Is there something wrong with your legs?"
You turned to him in surprise, your eyes widening at the unexpected question. "No, nothing's wrong with my legs," you replied, slightly puzzled. "Why do you ask?"
"Perona's ghost carried you all the way here,"
"I tripped once and Perona was overreacting by making me get carried," you explained, hoping to alleviate any concerns he might have had.
Mihawk's expression softened ever so slightly as he nodded. "I see," he responded, his voice carrying a hint of curiosity.
The awkward silence hung in the air, amplifying the tension between you and Mihawk. You wondered if there was something more he wanted to say, or if he was simply contemplating the situation. Either way, you couldn't help but feel a mixture of anxiety and anticipation as you waited for him to break the silence.
"You look beautiful by the way," Mihawk said, finally breaking the silence. His compliment caught you off guard, and a blush crept onto your cheeks.
"Thank you," you stammered, your voice barely above a whisper. The sincerity in Mihawk's words sent a wave of warmth through your body, calming your nerves slightly.
"Do you want to stay here?" Mihawk asked, his piercing gaze still fixed on you.
The question caught you off guard once again, and you found yourself searching for the right words to respond, unsure of what staying in this enigmatic swordsman's presence would entail.
"I like it here, but I don't want to intrude," you said, hesitatingly. The words escaped your lips as you tried to convey your mixed feelings of both comfort and reservation in Mihawk's presence.
"You are not intruding at all," Mihawk started, his voice calm and reassuring. "Perona seems to like you, so you can stay as long as you like." The weight of his words lifted some of the uncertainty from your shoulders, allowing you to relax a little more in his presence.
"I- I can stay?" you said, looking at him with surprise, the words escaping your lips before you could fully process them.
Mihawk was surprised by the sudden eye contact but quickly regained his composure and looked back at his book, nodding. It seemed like he was trying to regain his composure and maintain his usual stoic demeanor.
"Thank you," you said, your voice filled with gratitude and a hint of relief. The permission to stay in Mihawk's presence felt like a weight lifted off your shoulders, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and acceptance in his words.
"Do you like dresses?" he asked, not lifting his eyes off his book. His question caught you off guard again, and you hesitated for a moment before responding, "Well this is my first time wearing something other than ripped clothes. Why do you ask?"
"We can go shopping after you recover, if you'd like," Mihawk suggested, his eyes finally meeting yours.
"I appreciate the offer, but I feel like I would be using you if I accepted. I don't want to burden you or take advantage of your kindness," you said, your voice filled with sincerity and concern.
"You're not burdening me at all," Mihawk reassured, his gaze unwavering. "Helping you is my choice."
"You're very generous," you said, overwhelmed by Mihawk's kindness. The offer to go shopping after your recovery was unexpected, and you couldn't help but feel touched by his willingness to help.
"I understand that nothing can repair all you have gone through," Mihawk replied, his voice filled with empathy.
"You have no idea how much this means to me," you replied, tears welling up in your eyes. "To have someone like you, someone who understands, by my side... I can't thank you enough."
As Mihawk was about to reply, the door opened dramatically and revealed Perona, who had a mischievous smile on her face. "Oh, sorry for interrupting your conversation!" she exclaimed, causing both of you to turn towards her in surprise.
Startled by the sudden movement, you jumped in your seat, your heart racing.
"What do you want?" Mihawk muttered, a sign of anger showing in his tone. His interruption was abrupt, and his gaze shifted from Perona to you, as if silently asking if you were okay.
Perona's mischievous smile grew wider as she said, "I just wanted to let you two know that dinner is ready."
Mihawk sighed and glanced at you apologetically before turning his attention back to Perona. "Thank you for letting us know, Perona. We'll be there shortly," he responded, his voice calm but still carrying a hint of frustration.
Perona nodded, chuckling mischievously before floating away, leaving you and Mihawk alone once again. You took a deep breath, grateful for the brief interruption that allowed your racing heart to calm down.
"Can you walk?" Mihawk asked, placing his book on his desk.
"Yes, I can walk," you replied, relieved that your momentary panic hadn't caused any physical limitations. Mihawk nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Good," he said, standing up from his chair. "Shall we head to dinner then?"
"Yes," you said, standing up as well, and you followed Mihawk out of the room, feeling a sense of comfort knowing that he was there to support you.
As you continued to follow him from behind, it reminded you of your life just a few hours ago.
When walking was not a choice at times but a command enforced by cruel guards who would yell, "Walk faster!" while pulling the chains that were wrapped around the necks and arms of the slaves.
You were only able to answer with a 'Yes Master' or a 'Yes sir'. Other than those two, you would be severely punished depending on who heard your wrong answer.
Unfortunately you were a slave that was passed across many ships for all of their lives and you weren't familiar with that rule yet. Your last ship made you do everything in silence, even cry in silence that you even thought you had lost your voice.
The punishment you had to endure in Don Krieg's ship was indescribable. From physical beatings to starvation and isolation, every day was filled with unimaginable pain and suffering.
It was a constant battle for survival, and the fear of making a single mistake haunted your every move.
"Are you coming?" a voice said, making you jump.
Without thinking, you answered with "yes master," your conditioned response from years of slavery.
But as the words left your mouth, you quickly realized where you were and who you were with. The weight of your past life lingered in that moment, reminding you of the scars that still remained, even if they weren't visible.
You quickly corrected yourself, realizing that you were no longer in that dark place. The presence of Mihawk and the safety of his house provided a stark contrast to the horrors you had endured.
His eyes filled with concern as he noticed your sudden startle. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," he apologized, extending a hand towards you.
"No, I'm sorry, I should have paid more attention," you said, shaking your head.
The memories of your past sometimes still caught you off guard, but being in Mihawk's presence helped ease the lingering pain.
Feeling a sense of comfort, you slowly wrapped your hand around his arm, finding solace in his presence. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes of the trust that was slowly growing between the two of you, helping to heal the wounds of your past.
As you continued to walk in silence, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the freedom you now had. Each step forward was a reminder of how far you had come from the days of bondage and suffering.
Finally, after walking in silence for a few more minutes, you and Mihawk reached the dining room. The sight of the beautifully set table and the aroma of the delicious meal filled the air, instantly making your stomach grumble with anticipation.
As you approached the dining room, Mihawk graciously pulled out the chair on his right side for you. Gratefully, you settled into your seat, ready to indulge in the nourishing meal before you.
Perona then floated in from the kitchen and sat in front of you, her mischievous smile lighting up the room. "I hope you're hungry," she said playfully, her ghostly form exuding an air of excitement.
It was clear that she had put her heart into preparing this meal, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and belonging in this newfound family.
"Let's dig in, Itadakimasu!" Perona said, sitting down. The words marked the beginning of a joyful feast, as you and Mihawk joined her at the table, savoring the delicious food.
You couldn't help but feel a tinge of embarrassment as you stared at the unfamiliar cutlery in front of you. Forks and knives were foreign objects to you, as you had never used them before.
"What's your dominant hand?"
"Huh," you said, looking at Mihawk. "I'm actually ambidextrous, so I can use either hand."
Mihawk chuckled softly, reaching across the table to hand you a fork. "Well, I guess it's time to learn something new," he said.
You took the fork and stared at it, feeling a mixture of curiosity and nervousness. As you held it in your hand, Mihawk leaned in and gently guided you through the proper way to hold and use it, patiently teaching you the art of dining with cutlery.
As you held the fork for the first time, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unfamiliarity and anticipation. The smooth metal against your fingertips felt foreign yet strangely empowering.
With your heart pounding, you cautiously brought the fork to your lips, trying to mimic Mihawk's guidance.
You fumbled with the fork a few times, dropping food and feeling your face flush with embarrassment. Mihawk and Perona, however, remained patient and encouraging, assuring you that it was completely normal to struggle at first. With each failed attempt, he offered gentle guidance and reassurance, reminding you that learning something new takes time and practice.
With a cautious grip, you tentatively speared a piece of food and raised it to your lips. As the flavors mingled on your tongue, you couldn't help but smile at the small triumph of mastering this new skill, savoring not only the taste of the meal but also the sense of accomplishment that came with it.
You looked at Mihawk in shock, and you could see the slightest smile playing at the corners of his lips. It was as if he had anticipated your reaction and took joy in witnessing your triumph over the unfamiliarity of using cutlery.
"You're a quick learner," Mihawk said with a proud glint in his eyes, rewarding your efforts with a nod of approval.
"Thank you," you replied, feeling a sense of gratitude for Mihawk's patient guidance.
You started to eat, savoring each bite and enjoying the newfound skill of using cutlery. As you looked up, you noticed Perona's gaze fixed on the two of you, her eyes shining with happiness.
"What is it?" Mihawk asked, also noticing Peroma's staring.
"It's- It's nothing!" Perona replied, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. She quickly averted her gaze, pretending to be engrossed in her meal once again.
You found Perona's reaction endearing, her blush adding to the charm of the moment. However, Mihawk scoffed, dismissing her behavior as nothing more than a triviality, before taking a sip of his wine and returning his attention to his meal.
You couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind, but you decided to focus on enjoying the rest of the meal and savoring the newfound skill of using cutlery.
What would she think if she saw me now? In a fancy dress, at a fancy castle and with fancy people.
You smiled sadly at the thought, knowing that she would never have the opportunity to witness this moment. Her absence was a constant ache in your heart, but you took solace in the fact that you were carrying a piece of her with you, her spirit guiding you through each small triumph and reminding you to cherish every moment.
Mihawk had noticed the sadness behind your smile, but his silence on the matter only deepened the mystery of his thoughts.
The fancy castle exuded an air of grandeur and opulence, with its towering walls adorned with intricate tapestries and sparkling chandeliers illuminating the exquisite dining hall.
The dining hall was a breathtaking sight, with its grand chandeliers casting a dazzling array of light that danced off the polished silverware and fine china.
The walls, adorned with intricate tapestries depicting scenes of ancient battles and noble conquests, added an air of regality to the already opulent space. As you took in the surroundings, you couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and privilege to be in such a luxurious setting.
"So what are we doing tomorrow?" Perona asked curiously, breaking the silence that had settled over the table.
Her question brought you back to the present moment, and you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement as you thought about the adventures that awaited the next day.
"I will be going out to meet up with someone," Mihawk stated, taking another sip of his wine. His cryptic response piqued your curiosity, leaving you wondering who he was meeting and what plans he had in store.
"Who?" Perona asked, her eyes filled with curiosity as she awaited Mihawk's answer.
"That is none of your business," Mihawk answered, his tone curt and final.
The air around the table grew tense as Perona's curiosity clashed with Mihawk's guarded demeanor, leaving you caught in the middle, torn between wanting to know the answer and respecting Mihawk's privacy.
"Oh well, that means the house is all to us," Perona cheered to you, her excitement palpable.
You couldn't help but smile, grateful for her lightheartedness in the midst of the tension. It was a reminder that even in moments of uncertainty, there was still joy to be found.
As the evening wore on, you and Perona continued to share stories from your past, exchanging tales of adventure and hardship. Mihawk remained a silent but attentive presence, his gaze fixed on you both as he listened intently to every word.
It was a rare moment of vulnerability and connection, as you realized that despite his guarded demeanor, Mihawk was genuinely interested in getting to know you on a deeper level.
It would not be too difficult for you to get used to this, you thought to yourself. . . .

You woke up trapped on a slave ship, embarking on a harrowing journey of torture and suffering. As you lay restlessly in your sleep, you found yourself waking up in a familiar place.
It was a dark and damp room, with shackles tightly binding your ankles and wrists. Panic consumed you as you realized you were a prisoner on a slave ship.
As you slowly regained consciousness, you noticed a group of guards surrounding you. They were cruel and merciless, their faces etched with twisted desires. Each guard carried a whip, which they eagerly used to inflict unimaginable pain upon your flesh.
So it was a dream, you thought sadly, remembering the feeling of being in a majestic dress in a castle with Mihawk and Perona.
As you got up to the yelling of the guards, you realized that the dream was just a temporary escape from the harsh reality of your situation. The pain in your limbs and the stench of the ship's hold reminded you that you were still a captive, desperate for freedom.
The guards showed no mercy as they tormented you. They would strike you with whips, leaving welts upon your body. The whips were adorned with sharp metal spikes, causing excruciating pain with every lash. The guards laughed and taunted you, reveling in your suffering.
It became clear that the guards' sadistic pleasure was their primary objective. They enjoyed inflicting pain purely for their own amusement. Their laughter echoed through the ship, reminding you of your helplessness.
As the days turned into weeks, the slave ship continued on its journey. The stench of sweat and fear filled the air. The guards kept us confined in cramped, unsanitary conditions. We were subjected to constant hunger and thirst, our bodies ravaged by disease and malnutrition.
Your suffering was unrelenting and, as we sailed further, our despair only grew stronger. . . .
══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿════✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
You woke up sweating profusely from the nightmare, your heart pounding in your chest. The vividness of the dream left you shaken, unable to shake off the feeling of despair and hopelessness that had consumed you from your nightmare.
You looked around and saw you were in a fancy yet empty room. The grandeur of the furnishings contrasted sharply with the emptiness of the space, leaving you with a sense of eerie solitude.
The silence was deafening, and you couldn't help but question whether this was another illusion, or if there was a glimmer of hope for escape after all.
You remembered how Perona showed you to this guest room last night, assuring you it would be a safe place to rest and you could decorate it later.
You then slowly got up from your bed and made your way to the door as you walked slowly. As you turned the handle, a rush of anticipation filled your veins. The creaking of the door echoed through the empty hallway, and you cautiously stepped outside, your heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination.
The moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the deserted grounds. The stillness of the night was unsettling, as if the whole world was holding its breath in anticipation. The moon cast an ethereal glow on the desolate landscape, illuminating the path ahead.
The late hour meant that Perona was likely to be asleep but you were unsure of Mihawk. You weren't able to identify any sleepiness from him during dinner unlike Perona, who was complaining about how she needed her beauty sleep for one hour until you volunteered to wash the dishes for her.
As you tiptoed down the corridor, every step was carefully calculated to avoid making any noise. The silence enveloped you, amplifying the sound of your own breathing.
You knew that any sudden noise could alert Mihawk to your presence, and the consequences of being caught were too dire to contemplate.
Your heart skipped a beat as you heard the faint sound of footsteps echoing from downstairs.
Your mind raced with possibilities, wondering who could be roaming the house at this hour. Could it be Perona, unable to sleep and wandering aimlessly? Or perhaps it was Mihawk, patrolling the premises to ensure the safety of his guests.
The unknown nature of the situation only heightened your anxiety, and you knew that you had to proceed with extreme caution.
Despite knowing that it was wrong, your curiosity got the better of you, and you couldn't resist the urge to explore the castle further. The allure of the unknown beckoned you, and you silently made your way towards the source of the footsteps, determined to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within the walls.
You made it to the grand staircase without any disturbance, its grandeur and elegance captivating you as you ascended each step. The soft moonlight streaming through the stained glass windows added an ethereal touch to the scene, casting colorful patterns on the marble floor below.
As you walked down the stairs, the footsteps grew louder, echoing through the empty hallways. The sound resonated with an eerie intensity, sending shivers down your spine and intensifying your sense of unease.
When you reached the end of the stairs, a figure emerged from the shadows, completely unaware of your presence. Their footsteps faltered for a moment as they glanced around, their eyes scanning the surroundings with a mixture of caution and curiosity.
The figure standing before you was none other than the legendary swordsman, Dracule Mihawk. Clad in his signature black attire, Mihawk exuded an aura of mystery and power. His long, flowing black hair framed his chiseled face, accentuating his piercing, hawk-like eyes that seemed to hold a depth of knowledge and experience beyond measure.
The sharp angles of his jawline and the confident set of his shoulders portrayed a man who was both formidable and unyielding. As he moved with grace and precision, his black cape billowed behind him, adding an air of elegance and drama to his every step.
It was clear that this was a man who commanded respect and demanded attention wherever he went.
You had always heard stories of Mihawk's fearsome reputation and his unmatched swordsmanship, but now, as you looked at him up close, you couldn't help but notice his striking features.
His sharp eyes softened as they met yours, revealing a glimmer of curiosity.
The harsh lines of his face seemed to soften, revealing a hidden attractiveness that you had never noticed before. Despite the air of mystery and power that surrounded him, you couldn't help but find yourself drawn to his handsome and enigmatic presence.
"Y/N, what are you doing awake so late?" Mihawk asked as he fully faced you, his voice carrying a mix of surprise and concern. His piercing gaze remained fixed on you, as if trying to unravel the mystery behind your presence in his grand mansion.
You stumbled for words, caught off guard by his sudden attention, unsure whether to reveal the truth or come up with a plausible excuse.
Finally, you mustered the courage to respond, "I couldn't sleep, and I couldn't resist the allure of exploring this magnificent place."
Mihawk's gaze lingered on you for a moment, his expression unreadable. "Curiosity can be a dangerous thing," he murmured, his voice low and filled with a hint of warning.
"I understand the risks," you replied, meeting Mihawk's gaze with determination.
Mihawk nodded before gesturing you to come over, "Y/N, come here," he said, his voice holding a touch of intrigue. As you stepped closer to him, you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement mixed with apprehension. What could he possibly want with you?
As you got close enough, Mihawk slowly reached for your hand, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. His grip was firm yet gentle, as if he held something precious.
"I'll be back before tomorrow evening, but if you have any problems, just call me on this," he whispered, his voice tinged with a hint of reassurance.
As he released your hand, a mix of anticipation and uncertainty filled the air. With the Transponder Snail now in your possession, you couldn't help but wonder what awaited you in the coming hours.
You watched as Mihawk opened the door, said goodbye before walking into the forest. The sound of his footsteps faded into the distance, leaving you standing there, holding the Transponder Snail in your hand, filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation about the adventures that lay ahead.
Feeling tired, you closed the door and headed back to bed, placing the Transponder Snail on the desk close by.
The events of the evening replayed in your mind, and as sleep finally claimed you, you couldn't help but wonder where Mihawk was going, and how you would be involved. . . .

"Good afternoon Hawkeyes Mihawk, what honour do I have for you to be here today?"
"I have something that might interest you, Garp."
"And what might that be?"
"Have you ever heard of a devil fruit that allows the user to control its own aura and even the aura from other living beings?"
"No, I haven't. Tell me more," Garp replied, his curiosity piqued. . . .

Distraction / Dracule Mihawk Imagine
Tumblr media
Request: Hello! I was wondering if I could request a Mihawk x Reader that’s kinda enemies to lovers. I’m super in love with the whole ‘they hate each other but their constant bickering is bordering on blatant flirting’. Thank you so much ^~^
Babes you are so right!! This is so sweet oh my goodness!! :) Sorry if this is really OOC, its my first time writing for Mihawk!
This was fun to write, but it took me a while - so if you liked it, or if you want a follow on, please leave a comment!
Warning: a little strong language, mentions of knives!
(I do not own One Piece or its characters, all rights go to creators. Gif credit goes to @bangnyfes.)
☆.。.:・°☆.。.:・°
The exhale that left your nose at the sound of his voice would have been squally enough to shatter stone.
It had only been a meagre three days of uninterrupted peace before the cursed Dracule Mihawk arrived. Three. Days. True, your Captain and your fellow Red Haired Pirates had spent most of the hours here celebrating: emptying your dwindling crate supplies of poor Lucky Roux's lamb legs, unloading all the bottles of sweet liquor graciously donated to Shanks (or wily guerdoned by a female admirer off the coast of Syrup Village), and dripping every bottle dry until half the crew was splayed out on hammocks, and the other half was link-armed dancing underneath the endless ocean of drifting stars.
'For someone who's supposed to be a lookout, your observational skills are... well, decidedly more lacking than a sea cow's.'
As much as you loved Shanks, sometimes you wanted to grab his shoulders and give him a hard shake, trying to wipe that shrewd smile off his face. You hadn't even been granted any time to properly wake up; you had flung your arm over your squinting eyes, desperately trying to figure out why there was a looming shadow growing on the edge of your vision. Turned out, that as soon as that blasted coffin-shaped cruiser had come cruising past the white shores of Shank's base island, the man had nearly tripped over his feet to come leer over you like a grinning meerkat.
Look out duty? He had put you on look out duty!? With the brutish, blazing sun scorching across your bedraggled head? With the salty spray of the spring sea stretching its foamy fingers up across the shore and chilling your feet on this dusty, forgotten pocket of the East Blue? With the infuriating, pestering, testing, teasing Dracule Mihawk? Part of you was exasperated: you had been hoping for at least a week of recuperation before Shanks sailed off again for Yukiryu Island. Another part of you was dissatisfied that it had taken the swordsman so long to show up.
You hum in response as Mihawk's lengthening shadow shudders across your eyelids; feeling the cool chill that followed the flick of his coat around his boots, you don't even bother to open your eye and glare at the man. Instead, you dig your heels further down into the wet grains: legs stretched out and arms crossed tightly around your chest, lounging against the cragged edge of mossy crevice behind your back.
'I noticed you', you reply after a moment of pregnant silence. You fidget, trying your best not to give away the fact that your back was starting to ache from staying so *nonchalantly* perched in this position; to not give the man any ammunition. It really, really did not help your pride that his piercing eyes seemed to be mocking you with the way they glance obviously down the curved outline of your spine. Casting it away as vicarious embarrassment, Mihawk is almost ashamed with the burning realisation that his eyes had been trained over the years to be almost painfully conscious of your every miniscule mannerism.
'I just didn't think it was the effort to open my eyes', you sigh, tilting your head back towards the sun-strengthened field of bright blue swaying across the far yonder. 'There's no threat nearby. Unless-', you beckon your hand out towards the tapering shoreline, 'you count some of the cockles Beckman might stand on with his bare feet.'
'That's why the Captain's always wearing sandals!', you hear echo out from the mouth of the cave looming to your right, followed by the teetering sound of uproarious laughter. Despite the noise of your rancorous crewmates, Mihaw's golden eyes never waver: their piercing intensity focused solely on the edge of your irises as you finally, with a displeased twist of your lips, blink your gaze over to settle firmly on his own.
'I passed at least three Marine vessels during my jaunt over to your little...shack.' The swordsman's head cocks in your direction: his voice is low. Guarded. Unwavering. But you're getting to him. You know you're getting to him. Trying to wash down the waves of heat that begin to flood your vexed cheeks, you curse yourself for being able to read even his most minute idiosyncracies: the way his left eyebrow raises almost a tenth of an inch when he's struck by mild amusement.
'Shack? Shack!' You kick your bare foot off the slippery edge of the lapped rock and take a step out onto the gorge of beach stretching between you and Mihawk, swinging your arms out by your sides. 'Why Dracule, can't you see this is the last refuge of the East Blue - you dare scorn an abode teeming with luxury, good-will, and free booze!'
Another exuberant cheer rings out from Lucky Roux, as the unmistakable sound of two tankards slamming together, followed by a faint slosh and cry of outrage from Yasopp follow in quick procession.
The only hint that Mihawk has heard them is the slight narrowing of his eyes.
'It's not your fault, Hawk-Eyes.' You try to stifle your facetious smirk, instead placing your back against the rock again and fidgeting as if settling back for another snooze. Tipping the edge of your straw hat down to cover your eyes, you duck your chin into your neck and close your eyes, knowing the blatant disregard for Dracule would drive him mad.
'Suppose your eye sight isn't quite what it used to be, considering your advanced age and all.'
The clamour of your crew drowns in your ears by the pause that follows; too obdurate to flick an eye open and observe Mihawk's indignant reaction, you instead allow the sound of out-of-tune shanty singing to be replaced with the almost still whisper of the waves. Of the slight hiss of the balled sun, as it throws down its rays and coats you in nothing but the icy tendrils of Mihawk's obstinate silhouette. Of his sharp suspire twanging in your ear, as his pointed footsteps shift the earthen grains guarding you from his propinquity.
Of his gravelly voice, nearly making you knock the hat off your head as it suddenly flows past your ear.
The sunlight floods your eyes when they finally open, until you can barely see Mihawk: just the flaxen outline of his being as he comes floating up towards you: phantom like, and yet more imposing and colossal than the threat of a thousand Marine ships protruding their helms your way.
'Enough with the pleasantries. I believe I have something that may be of interest to you.'
He reaches into the inner lining of his coat, withdrawing a rolled up piece of parchment. Although you're intrigued, all you dare to do is look inquisitively between Mihawk's outreaching hand, and distrustfully back to his unwavering stare.
Wow, he really was close. You could almost see your reflection in the immaculately polished glaze of Yoru, still strapped on his back; as it turned out, that back just happened to be jutting your way. Mihawk's spine is almost completely arching over your reclining torso, almost blotting out the fringes of the sun, his head bowing as if observing rather flighty prey. Realising you're still stubborn as always: far too headstrong to trust him, or to place your fingers anywhere that could cause you to come into contact with his skin, he sighs and unrolls the treasure map with a flick of his wrist.
You did your best to hold back your snort. Really, you did.
'What, exactly, do you think the Captain will want with a scrappy looking, filth covered, mud covered, blood covered-'
'I didn't say Shanks. I said you. Although your Captain may have been a valiant opponent many years ago, he's now half the man he used to be. '
You chew the inside of your lip, finally rolling on the balls of your feet and coming to a full stand in front of the swordsman; Mihawk, almost unconsciously, straightens his own spine in return.
'You find me valiant, ey?'
He pierces you with the most grating stare he can muster.
'I find you wanting.'
The tang of salt seething off the bubbling sea could do nothing to burn away the fizzling want and joint annoyance banging against your ribcage, nor could the cool pinch of the jagged stone distract you from how restless you were feeling with Mihawk leaning so close.
'I bet I could find this treasure before you with my eyes blindfolded and my hands tied behind my back.'
The tangy breeze curls the strands of hair loosened behind his right ear, and by all the wishes in the world did you want so badly to tuck it back into place.
'Careful now, turtle.' He takes another step forward, effectively pinning you between the cove wall and his rigid chest. For the first time since your injudicious acquaintance with the warlord, you could feel it beat... no, feel it slam almost erratically. It seemed to jolt so ferociously against his pec, if he weren't restraining himself from taking another step forward and diminishing you completely, you would have been able to feel it against the unbuttoned cotton of your shirt. 'You've been spending far too much time around Shanks. We wouldn't want to step on that shell and have it crack.'
'You want to go out searching for treasure... you? With a map that looks like it's been pulled out of a goldfish's behind.'
He takes that final step forward, and as the buckle of his belt hits against the top of your groin, you find your obstinate bearing falter far faster than you were proud to admit.
'I find myself bored, and you may provide a fleeting distraction.'
The trimmed hair coating his jaw feels warm as it glides across the side of your cheek, but you still can't help but tremble. His voice: gruff and warm as it rumbles a devastating gale across the side of your nose nearly makes your breath hitch. Nearly. But just the mere thought: the mere tremble of your pulse point as you tried to swallow back down your pride as its slippery tendrils latched and slithered its way up the back of your throat was enough to give the game away.
Your thighs tremble as his leg slid up against between your calves, and you gave yourself away completely.
Mihawk's lips turn up at the edges, and the bastard had the audacity to pin your chin between his thumb and pointer finger. Imperturbed, as if unsnarling a feeble swallow's wings clipped by a wild springe, the man looming over your torso raises your face. Closer and closer and closer: his unbreaking gaze almost unnerving. Almost. If it hadn't been for that glint of delight festering in the corner of his swirls.
'Why bother, then?', you swallow thickly. 'If it's not a challenge.'
'I may find it fun.' His hand drops down to your collar bone: his grip firm, resolute, surprisingly warm as his fingertips constrict at the feel of your bare skin.
'No, really', you manage to pant out between laboured breaths, shaking your head out to try and stop yourself from becoming distracted by the racy feeling beginning to ball in the pit of your stomach.
He was playing you, you thought, biting down on your tongue and pretending the pressure of his thumb pad faintly pressing down on the strip of skin just above your left breast wasn't making you go lightheaded. He was toying with you. Snap out of it!
'Tell me the truth, and I'll do it. Why are you really here?'
'Perhaps I just like to see you squirm, like a little rabbit...', his hand rises from his side to slide up the inside of your wrist almost painstakingly slowly, his words dying out once he's encircled the bone with his vice-like grip. The next utterance is caught only by your ear as a whisper in the wind. 'Caught in my snare.'
Although he doesn't cut off your airway - he would never do anything to outright cause you physical harm - the finger still resting on collar bone crawls across your throat. His finger nails scratch like pinpricks from sharpened knives as he claws over your pulse point, before running the side of his finger back underneath your chin.
He looks almost... contemplative, as his eyes dart furtively down to linger over the top seam of your lip.
It's the first time, during all your years of solicitous enmity, that you had ever seen him distracted.
Using the opportunity, you manage to break free of his trance - of his hold on you. Grabbing onto his sleeve, you tug him towards you with all the force shaking through your burning body, appreciating the slight widening of his eyes in surprise as you slam his back against the wall of rock. You press yourself against the taut, constricting muscles of his abdomen, holding one hand firmly against his waist. The other snakes around to pin his wrist against the scrap of trouser by his hip, every cell in your bodies ablaze as he flexes his fingers. They curl into a ball over his fist, dangerously close to brushing across the back of your hand.
He could move you, of course. If he wanted to, he could flick you off him like a stray piece of sand, dusting you off as if you weighed as much as a handful of pebbles.
But he gave it away. God, how hard he had been trying not to: how hard he was trying to stop his body from flushing an increasingly paler shade of white at how mortified he was. How infuriated he was. How ensnared he was.
He didn't move. He gave himself away completely.
All he did was tilt his head back, and half-smiled expectantly at the sound of your dagger being sheathed from its thigh-scabbard; he was intrigued by the way you jutted its tip just below his Adam's apple, tilting his face to meet the steel.
'Don't forget, I still owe you for that time on the Nammu Isles.'
He tuts, eyes shining dangerously in the glare. 'Are you talking about the time I saved your pathetic life?'
You jut your chin forward, imposing your face against his own. 'I mean the time you took my bounty. You better stop talking, oh mighty warlord of the sea, before I shave that pretty little moustache off hair by hair.'
For a moment, there's nothing but the rhythmic brush of his breath against the pursed lines of your full lips: the odd jolt of the tip of his nose hitting against your own as he observes like with the intensity and rigidness of a man possessed.
Without breaking eye contact, he makes as if to lean forward and kiss you, but instead butts his elbow into your stomach and uses your doubled-over state to swipe the knife out of your fingers.
'You may have that back, if you win.' He toys with it, almost looking teasing as he tucks the small blade into his breast pocket.
'I'll take your sword, too.' You wipe your hand across your mouth before placing your palms on your knees, smiling up at the swordsman. You would be damned, if after all this time, you would give him the satisfaction of seeing how flustered he made you.
He bows his head, trying in vain to hide his amusement. He does, however, slap at the hand that's tentatively reaching behind his back, subtly trying to latch on to the hilt of jaded Yoru.
'Of course, if you win. Such a shame that you never stood a chance.'
'I look forward to wielding that sword', you hum in a sing-song tone as you creak your back up again, placing one hand on your hip and your other pointer finger ostentatiously on your chin. Raising your eyes to the sky, you pretend to think deeply as watch two seagulls squawk, stream and tumble past each other, darting through the streaming white clouds. 'I bet I could make some delicious Aburaage with it.'
'And if I win, I look forward to taking that awful hat from you.'
Looking on in disbelief, Shanks shakes his head and tilts back to face the rest of his slack-jaw, gobsmacked crew.
'Right, bets on boys. Which of our beloved numbskulls will be the first to make a move?'
'I mean, he couldn't be more obvious!', Yasopp chimes in, fiddling some loose berries out of his trouser pockets and slamming down into his Captain's awaiting hands. 'I bet he drew that map himself!'
Benn Beckman rolls his eyes, but joins in with the circling chorus of laughter as Shanks slaps his arm against his back. 'It is the fourth time this month he's shown up with a map for Y/n.'
'Well, no matter what happens-', Shanks replies, squatting down onto his hammock again and distractedly counting through the coins he's collected, 'we have to be thankful to Y/n! After all, all proceeds and winnings will be going towards restocking our drink supplies!'

Be Careful What You Wish For
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dracule Mihawk x Reader
First time writing for Mihawk, so I hope I did well
Summary: After running into Shanks and having a lot of drinks, the reader finds fun in poking at their rival, Dracule Mihawk, who arrives; their poking and teasing at one another leads them to a predicament that makes the reader see Mihawk as more than their rival
Warnings: Drinking, Shanks being a drunk goof (LOL), flirting
Word Count: 0.8k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Y/N!! Sit down and have a few drinks with us, yeah?!”
Red Haired Shanks. It was no surprise to run into him, and I should’ve known that ‘a few drinks' would be a lot.
I was laughing and chatting it up with Shanks at this bar he and his crew stopped by, nearly clearing the place of liquor. There were no hard feelings between Shanks and me, so I wasn’t scared to let my guard down, even when my rival walked through the door.
“Mihawk?! What a lovely surprise! It’s just one big pirate party in here, aye?!” Shanks was so drunk he was wobbling in his seat, encouraging Mihawk, “C’m ‘ere and get a drink!”
“Drunk as usual,” He shook his head at Shanks, coming to the bar where we were sitting, eyes darting over to me, “I didn’t expect to see you here.”
“It’s a crazy world we live in,” I shrugged, smirking at him, “You, of all people, should know that.”
“That I do,” He mumbled, obviously having an attitude when Shanks butted his head into our conversation:
“OH MAN! I just realized you are both here! A little birdy told me that Y/N can rival your skill, Mihawk! Is that true?”
“Don’t make me- “
“Oh, it’s true,” Laughing and cutting off Mihawk, which filled in his words with a bit of annoyance:
“I’ll admit, Y/N is very skilled with a sword. “
Mihawk sounded like he meant those words but was staring at me. I wasn’t in the mood for any hostility, ignoring Shanks’ drunk ranting and winking at Mihawk:
“Relax, hon. I’m not in the mood to have a duel unless you show me a new sword.”
I referenced a specific ‘sword’ of his by quickly glancing between his legs then back up into his eyes, giggling as he got a drink from the bartender, till he leaned over the bar and mumbled:
“What’s so funny? I know for certain that is a ‘sword’ that you wouldn’t be able to handle.”
“Is that a challenge?” Cocking my eyebrow, we just stared deeply into each other’s eyes, but of course, this conversation was ruined by Shanks, who only heard my last words, exclaiming:
“Holy shit! Ya gonna have a duel and put on a show for us?!”
“Shanks, you drunk fool,” Mihawk groaned to himself, taking a sip of his drink while I handled Shanks:
“Sorry, stud, but we’d probably destroy this lovely establishment.”
“Awe, c’mon!” Shanks was too funny to me, cheeks bright red as I stood and said my goodbyes:
“Maybe next time we meet, I’ll put on a show for you.”
“I’ll hold you to that, Y/N!”
Waving and heading out of the bar, I needed to sleep off this buzz before leaving this island in the morning, but footsteps behind me caught my attention.
“Why am I not surprised? Did Shanks convince you to ‘put on a show’?”
“If I did, he’d be stumbling out here to watch,” Mihawk was telling the truth, but my hand rested on the hilt of my sword instinctively, “It’s a bit tempting, though. I noticed that you have a new sword.”
“You’re a bad liar,” Rolling my eyes, I wielded my sword, standing up straight and offering the duel, “Looks like Shanks is going to get what he wanted after all.”
“Who said that I was lying,” Running a fingertip across my blade, he analyzed it before pushing it down to the ground, standing before me, and getting his dig in on me, “Besides, I’d hate to break your new sword.”
“Oh my, I didn’t know you were a comedian in your spare time,” I dished back, putting my sword away.
“How funny,” One thing I didn’t expect from Mihawk was how soft his hand was as he patted my cheek, leaving me speechless for a change, a slight smirk on his face, “You should be grateful that I enjoy having a sparring partner.”
“Sparring partner?” Brushing off my fluster with a scoff, I gave another smirk back, my boldness shining through as I stepped closer to kiss his cheek, whispering to him, “I’m your rival, honey. Now, maybe a little grateful that I don’t show you what I can do?”
“I’m so scared,” He murmured, the tips of our noses brushing together, and it was hard to deny how much I liked having him as a rival, very much enjoying the teasing we kept dishing at each other.
“I wasn’t talking about my new sword,” Licking at my lower lip, I began to fight screaming temptations, observing as he removed his hat.
“You drank too much with Shanks,” He sighed, leaving a peck on my cheek, “We’ll have to see if those feelings remain next time we cross paths.”
Standing there holding my cheek, I was too stunned to speak as he stood tall, put on his hat, and turned away, ready to go about his way.
“You better prepare then,” I couldn’t let him walk away having the last word, but he surely did when he turned his head to me, smirking before disappearing into the night:
“Be careful what you wish for, darling.”

Sunset with Mihawk
Tumblr media
Day 12 of Fluffvember 2023 Gender & race neutral reader Requested by @imaultrabossbruh
Placing a blanket on your shoulders, Mihawk stood behind you. Ahead, the ocean stretched out as far as you could see. Not an island, not a ship on the horizon. Only the sun, slowly sinking into the sea, and coloring the sky in shades of pinks and oranges. A handful of puffy clouds were disrupting the pattern, showcasing hints of yellow, or blue from the ocean beneath.
As you stared off into the distance, Mihawk pressed a kiss to your temple. You smiled and closed your eyes, enjoying the moment of tranquility. His lips were soft against your skin, the wind was fresh and the smell of the ocean filled your nose. You would have sworn it was perfect.
You had to resist the urge to complain when Mihawk pulled away from you. It surprised you how quickly you missed his warmth sometimes. But your waiting was short lived, for your partner soon enough returned with a glass of red wine for himself, and a glass of your preferred drink for you. After handing it over, he stayed close once again, placing his hand on your lower back.
“To you, my love,” Mihawk invited you to toast.
“And to you.”

Hi! I really enjoy your one piece writings, they have given me so much comfort when I don't feel okay 😭
Can I please get a Mihawk (I'm completely in love w this man aah) imagine where his wife is a sensitive person who gets sad when someone is rude to them but they feel insecure couse they think it's stupid
Thank youuuuuu ❤️🥺
First of all, I'm honoured that I can provide a source of comfort to you. I'm glad my work has made you feel better in your time of need.
Second of all: oh yessss bestie this hits the spot. It also reminds me of a wonderful scene in The Gentlemen (10/10, highly recommend) [it also hits close to home because I am a sensitive person]
Tumblr media
The thing about strong people is that they make others want to be just as strong, which isn't always easy if even possible. You've always known you're a little 'softer' than most people but only after marrying Mihawk did you find the difference in temperament bothersome. Instead of considering your sensitivity a fact of nature, you've begun to find it a flaw, something that you should change about yourself.
You've never admitted it to yourself but the truth is plain and simple - you think it's embarrassing. That Mihawk will find your sensitivity embarrassing. Maybe if you had been up-front about it with your husband, you'd learn that he adores your soft heart. If he felt forthcoming enough, perhaps you'd even hear that you're the source of warmth and light in his life. Hence he calls you his 'sun'.
To say that Mihawk grew concerned when he heard your muffled sobs would be like not saying anything. A delicious euphemism at best. Anger and fear bubble inside his chest. There's a strange itch in his hands that eggs him to wreak havoc.
"Apple of my eye," his voice carries well through the rather empty room you're both staying at currently. "What is the meaning of this?"
Frantically wiping away your tears, you look over your shoulder to meet his gaze. Mihawk is leaning against the doorframe, blocking the entrance if you so wish to run away from this situation.
"Oh, it's nothing. Really, I'm alright. No need to worry," you half-heartedly attempt to reassure him.
The swordsman loudly exhales through his nose. He's your husband, worrying about you is his duty. In slow steps, Mihawk walks over to the edge of the bed where you're sitting. Pride and titles as if forgotten, he drops on one knee in front of you. One of his hands gently squeezes your knee.
Unsure what's the best way to go about these circumstances, you timidly meet his intense gaze. The passion in his yellow eyes makes you think of a maelstrom captured in a jar - something devastating held back by a miracle. He's already seething, just doesn't yet know who exactly to direct his violence at.
"Indulge me," he prompts you to confide in him. There's a rare sense of pleading in his tone.
So indulge him you do - you tell Mihawk all about the unpleasant encounter with a local tearaway. Your husband tries his best to control his expression as you recount the unambiguously offensive words, unwanted touches and threats of real violence coming from someone who was probably looking for a cowardly scapegoat to vent his anger. As you continue your story, tears just keep rolling down your cheeks, fear and humiliation finally finding their way out of your heart.
"I know I'm being stupid," you mumble as you clumsily wipe your face, "he was just rude and it's not like he actually hurt me but-"
Mihawk's touch makes you cut your sentence short. His hand, its skin rough and calloused, gently cups the side of your face. Your hot, salty tears disperse as his thumb slowly rubs them away. Something about the tenderness of his touch, of hands that have killed and maimed, is enough to make you feel like you're about to break in his arms. Even if you do, you know that when dawn breaks you will be whole again, put back together with the unending love Mihawk holds for you.
"You've always been too good, my sun," he tells you in a low voice. He could have said 'too soft' or 'too sensitive' but then his remark would come off as deceitful as it would suggest his dislike towards your nature. Nothing of that sort - Mihawk genuinely thinks you're a better person than most people walking this plane. And he'd rather succumb to torture than let anyone make you feel bad about that.
The man leans in and places his warm lips against your forehead. Without much effort, he lays you down on the bed and you let him. Even if you wanted to fight back, you're way too tired to do so.
He's sitting on the edge of the bed, caressing your face, neck, arms and back as he's waiting for you to fall asleep. The anticipation doesn't require much patience - Mihawk's tender touches lull you to peaceful slumber rather swiftly. When he's sure that you're asleep, he kisses your forehead again before cautiously leaving the bedroom and closing the door behind him.
Perhaps he can't turn back the time and make the offending man choke on his words but he can ensure that the tearway won't hurt you ever again. Someone resting in peace so you can rest peacefully is a good bargain.
Mihawk knows exactly who he's looking for. He made a note of a certain characteristic trait you had mentioned - an earring with a single, red-coloured feather. It doesn't seem like a piece of jewellery that would be common anywhere.
It doesn't take much to find the tearaway. He makes his presence well-known as he stumbles out of a tavern, his legs almost giving away with each step.
So he assaults random women minding their business and then gets blackout drunk. It's pathetic enough to consider his death merciful.
Staying true to his name, the swordsman stalks his prey before lunging. Appearing as another patron of the inn, Mihawk follows the stranger around the corner towards barns, stables and pigstys. Fitting place for the likes of him, Dracule thinks to himself.
The man with the curious earring staggers his way towards a drinking trough. He's fumbling with his pants, desperately trying to pull them down to relieve himself but his fingers are not dextrious enough.
Mihawk picks up the pitchfork leaning against the barn wall. In one, swift motion he gores the tool through the back of the man's knee. A guttural scream tears through the night as he falls to the ground.
The swordsman grabs a fistful of the tearaway's hair. He forces the kneeling man to look up into his seething, yellow eyes.
"Do I owe you money?" The man is slurring his words. He squints his eyes, trying to focus his hazy vision on Mihawk and, possibly, recognize his creditor. "It's money, isn't it? Shit, just give me two days, man. I'll give it back with interest."
"I don't care about money."
Instantaneously, panic appears in the tearaway's eyes. Did he just find himself in the same position he's put hundreds of people in to cure his own boredom and need for grandiosity?
"Then what it is?!" he shouts, fear settling in his viscera. Dracule's calmness put together with the sheer hatred emanating from him makes for a deeply unsettling impression.
"You hurt my wife," comes the answer. The fist clenching the man's hair tightens its hold further, threatening to tear off his scalp. "My wife," Mihawk growls.
But before the tearaway can ask for clarification, his head is forced into the drinking trough. Surprised and scared, oxygen is escaping him fast. Soon, his throat and chest begin to clench and throb painfully. Dark spots dance across his vision, foreboding blindness.
Then, Mihawk pulls his head just above the surface. The man desperately gasps for air.
"If you believe in a god," the swordsman begins in a low voice shaking with anger and adrenaline, "I suggest you start praying. Fast."
The tearaway's head is forced underwater again but this time, Mihawk keeps it there until the ruffian's body stops trembling and shaking. After that, Dracule waits for a while longer - just for good measure.
You're woken up by the creaking of doors as they slowly open. Blinking sleep away from your eyes, you look over your shoulder only to experience a sort of deja vu: Mihawk is standing in the doorway. Before you can ask about his strange behaviour, your husband makes his way to you in long, quick strides. He kneels on the floor beside the bed.
Mihawk takes your hand in his. He takes something out of his pocket and places it in your palm. You recognize the red feather earring immediately. And is that... a piece of skin still attached to it? Gently, your husband closes your fist and lifts your hand to place a chaste kiss on your knuckles.
"The rat has paid for its sins," he whispers to you. Judging by the intense look in his eyes, you don't want to know the details of this story.

Lines blurry, colors blank, the image slowly fills with your presence, droplet by droplet, until you turn to him and your eyes meet, and everything finally comes home. Written for: @ilibili
Vibrations in his pocket have become significantly palpable once Mihawk marched out of the docks. He expected if and, frankly, would have lied, if that said hope was not blowing his soul apart. He’s been following the vivre card for weeks now; not all intentionally, it happened to follow the path he chose—but once he felt its characteristic little pulling sewed in the brim of his coat, he’s been nothing but tense anticipation, stubbornly keeping eye on its slightest flicker. Island by island, town by town, he’s become sure your roads are going to cross again, for the first time since—
He’s never been keen to count useless days, but he knows it’s been long. Way too long.
The island is widely known, especially among the pirates and all outlaws, but it’s the first time he’s here, as far as he can be certain within meanders of his sanity. Yet, each step feels like carved into Mihawk’s mind, non-existent memories vivid between badly-lit streets. He remembers that day better than the last hours spent together. He remembers so well that a glimpse of his reflection gives him a little startle: facial hair, bigger muscle mass and all the little wrinkles suddenly so unfamiliar. Only the sword remains the same; the world might be turning upside down around him, but Yoru is eternal, towering over him with the whole power and glory of a black blade. Except he’s not slouching under its weight anymore, his back and shoulders straight and strong as his will. He trained hard for this, pretending even harder it was not to dull your teasing, pricking his pride with needles more painful than cuts, bruises and exertion.
How insignificant they feel now, he realizes with a faint smile, all those rough advances he still remembers, together with strain in muscles and burning in blushing ears. Words a man would easily shrug off ground into a lanky teen who barely could call himself a swordsman, even if bent under a sword as long as him. If only he wasn’t followed by a half-wild sea child, that female pirate he had run into the docks and couldn’t get lost between narrow streets of the town.
What a blessing he couldn’t. Otherwise, he would have never sewn your vivre card into his coat.
Its pulse leads him to the more presentable district. A smirk plasters itself to his stoic face at the sight, the feeling of frozen time even more palpable and eerie now. Not the pirate land anymore but townsfolk domain, the streets are busier and thicker, early evening crowd even pressing on him as he squelches through dreams and reality towards the signboard that has filled his heart with merry nostalgia.
Such coincidences can happen only on Grandline.
Mihawk pushes the door, its heavy wood groans, chimes in the frame click, announcing his presence. The inside is not so far brighter than the streets, dusty lamps unable to uncover corners and vennels between shelves. Ignoring the vendor with mutual disinterest, he squeezes himself in, ungainly, between bags of tea, herbs and plants. It’s hard to breathe, with the spiced scent dancing in his nostrils, with chest clenched in excitement. He’s a boy and a man all at once; steps simmer under him, leading him in unwitting cooperation with the vivre card, shelf by shelf engulfing him with mixed feelings nearly tearing him apart.
Will he recognize you?
He can sense your aura, color of observation polished to impossibly sharp edges could never deceive him. But will he find you familiar, will the last puzzle of vivid memories click in its place, filling the heart he oh so unaware kept empty for all those months he didn’t care to—he feared to—count? Afterglow of your face dances in his eyes, the more clear the stronger the pull of the vivre card grows. Lines blurry, colors blank, the image slowly fills with your presence, droplet by droplet, until you turn to him and your eyes meet, and everything finally comes home.
You look at him from the same angle he remembered, all the so known and loved quirks blooming on your face, voice barely louder than a whisper yet rumbling in his ears, “So you found me.”
“I found you.”
“Took you long enough.” A bag of tea rustles in your hands as you approach, all confident and relaxed—but tense in his eyes. The closer you get, the harder it is to breathe for Mihawk, pulse of rushing blood nearly blocking his vision and hearing. “A day or two longer and I’d pack the boys back and sail…gods-of-sea-know-where. Always fashionably late, aren’t ya, Hawk Eyes?”
“Always fashionably right where and when I should be.” Mihawk’s hand doesn’t even budge when touching you, but the feel of your shirt has him nearly burning. He can, see and sense, the time that has treated you, but regardless, everything is still the same as he left it, ages ago, behind the door of the cabin of your ship he closed behind his back early in the morning. “I’m glad to see you too.”
“I wish I could say: you haven’t changed at all. But you have. You have grown old and boring.” There’s a fold on the collar of his coat and you immediately spot it, resmoothing scolding and tender—and as playful as light in your eyes. “A government’s dog? Where did they find a collar tight enough to keep you on a leash?”
“If we’re already talking of growing old—” he can’t resist an eyeroll and a displeased scowl— “aren’t we both too old for such childish needling?”
“Always so responsive to teasing, hm?” Your smile…Mihawk has no memory of missing it even for a split second, but yearning hits him with such force he feels lightheaded for the moment it blooms on your face. “Maybe after all something hasn’t changed in you.”
The clicking of your shoes is nearly hypnotizing as you carry your chosen tea to the counter. Gaze piercing your back, all stoic and motionless, Mihawk forces all of his nerves to stay calm and yet, his soul and mind are being pulled together with the little piece of paper vibrating on his chest. Twenty years ago he would, simply as that, kidnap you into his arms, right here, in front of merchandise, dust and the half-asleep vendor. The present him still doesn’t care for the world around—but he has learnt his patience and your nonverbal whims. You keep your distance, for some reason, so he respects it, despite longing, and pain, and a desperate thirst for your scent, for your breath, for your body, for you. Heels grounded, he stands, stares and waits, like a dog indeed, on a leash far more powerful than any government could ever hold.
“You smell of sea,” you coo as he opens the door for you. With grace and elegance one could never expect from a pirate you link arm with his, entrusting him with the lead, but leaving no doubt where you want to head. “You came to the tea shop straight out of the docks? Still sailing that coffin of yours?”
“It’s practical.” He can’t help rolling eyes a little, the tips of his ears burning in the familiar but nearly forgotten way.
“Not when you want to make out in it.” The weight of your body on the inner side of his elbow shakes with laughter. “Remember, how many times have we ended up in water?”
“There’s a reason why I prefer your ship for that.”
“It’s been less than fifteen minutes and you’re already dragging me to the cabin? You brute…”
Yes, he’s been yearning for it, for the banter and the warmth of your body pressed to his. How could he live and sail so long without it? He was asking himself this question every time you parted for longer—and he knows he’s going to ask it once your paths untangle again. But now, right now and right here, you’re his again, shattered pieces have become one, pulled together by magnetic force. Old friends and old lovers, strolling aimlessly through the pirate paradise, on the thin line between no-law’s-land and calm town, on the even thinner line between day and dusk.
You smell of tea, of a long day in the port, of yourself, above all, and Mihawk wants no other air than one full of all of that.
“Was sure you’re going to catch me in Nanohana?” As if the sight of ships dragged your attention back to the abandoned topic, you break your restless teasing once the both of you enter the boardwalk. “But vivre card pulled to the west—”
“Turning east.” He says, simply as that, eyes fixed on the horizon, to not look at you, to not cave the temptation to claim you his right as you’re standing.
“Sniffing at the entrance of Paradise? That’s new… Thought you’re not interested in hunting rookies.”
“Times change, ain’t they? I would never suspect I’d find you that far west.”
The weight of your gaze forces Mihawk to cross eyes with yours, warmth in your faces taking him aback.
“Have some business on Sabaody, old crap to solve,” you confess, nearly playfully. “And then…why not, I’ll try again.”
Concern and pride are such similar feelings, he realizes as his heart clenches, “Again with the New World?”
“The third time’s the charm. If not now, then when?” The softness of your fingers threading through his sideburns has him melting, only sheer force of will keeping him together now. “Last time I was still too inexperienced. A few years more and my body won’t keep with the power I gathered.”
A loud horn of the docking ship forces you to take a break, seriousness melting away to give place to the smile he loves so much, “We’re in the perfect age to go crazy, Mihawk, and I ain’t wasting that golden moment.”
You’ve never been one to waste anything, he thinks, screams internally, eyes following the curve of your lips. Its softness, taste… Does he remember it right? Does he remember it at all?
“You’re still that innocent, shy boy under all those layers of refinement and distance, ain’t ya?”
“Well, you’re still that troublesome brat under all those layers of teasing and maturity.”
He can’t control himself any longer, not with the glimpse of your toothy grin, not with the welcoming tilt of head, not with the sleeve of shirt rolling up, revealing the same tattoo he carries on his wrist. Your hand in his is so soft, surprisingly fragile with its craft and experience of a pirate. Electric shock runs through his body, slightly salty taste of your skin driving him crazy as he skims it with lips, patiently crawling towards the inked place. Your smell is stronger there, he pulls your wrist close and inhales, gets drunk with it, trembles under the weight of yearning and anticipation.
Your lips are next and he’s simply drowning.
He remembered, remembered it all and right—and still, is not ready, he could have never been. If not for a strong hold on your waist, he would fall on his knees; it’s so intense and sweet, and intoxicating, the way you lead and allow, the taste he dreamed of without, the softness he cried for without tears. You cling to him, desperate and overwhelmed the same way, vivre card in his coat goes crazy when your hands clench and pull, seeking more.
You belong here, in his arms. And no time spent apart can change it.
Breathing against your lips, not pulling away yet, Mihawk realizes he’s laughing, a little, relief and amusement showing in his eyes, breaking the distanced, well-balanced cover he keeps on aside from the rare moments with you, the love of his life.
“I swear, you’re getting better with this every time we meet again,” you nudge him and smirk. “With whom you’re training, hm?”
“Jealousy doesn’t suit you, Y/N,” he lets the teasing timbre show in his voice as well, your mood wrapping him all around your finger.
“I intend to be very jealous throughout the whole stay—” Your fingers smooth the crumpled front of his coat— “unless you will properly apologize and make up for the lost time.”
Your laughter attracts gazes as he kidnaps you in his arms, as he wanted from the very beginning, with little care for everything around, your pretended outrage included, “After all this time, still flustered when I’m doing this? Y/N, we’re not fifteen…”
“And that’s why I’ll break up with you if you even think about taking me to that edgy dinghy of yours.”
“How would I dare.”

Imagine making Mihawk tell you where Shanks is...
Of all the people you had expected to see at the Baratie, Mihawk wasn’t it. But he was exactly who you needed to find a certain red-haired pirate.
The Warlord seemed unfazed with your wide-eyed reaction when you saw him and sighed. “I don’t have time for whatever this is.”
He stood up to leave when you grabbed his dagger necklace and forced him to stop walking off. Had this been anyone else, Mihawk would have split them in a millisecond, but you were fortunate that the Warlord found your boldness amusing.
“Not so fast, I need your intel on locating Shanks.” You said and pulled out a map onto the bar table. Pointing a finger to the paper, you traced in a downwards motion. “I lost him just after he left Melon Town and-”
“Your red-haired duet is currently drunk on a beach at the edge of the Grand Line.” Mihawk revealed easily, taking a glass of wine into his hand. “I’d suggest drowning him in the sea just to sober him up.”
So he made it to the Grand Line.
“I’m surprised you’d even want to find him. Didn’t he leave you on Coral Harbour after that nasty affair with the Marines?”
You frowned at the man and stole the drink from his hand. “I was injured during that mess. Shanks found me a place to lay low until I healed.”
Mihawk rolled his eyes. “And now you think you owe him?”
Gulping down the remaining liquor, you returned the glass to the bar and tapped your knuckles on the wood to order another round. “He asked me to come find him.” You replied.
“And how many people has he said that to?” Mihawk asked, voice low and serious.
He wasn’t wrong. Shanks was a natural flirt and you knew it well. But there was something different when it was just the two of you.
Unless, you had fooled yourself…
“Oh, messing with you is far too drab." Mihawk drawled. "I ran into him a few months ago and that forlorn expression at the mention of you was almost alarming.”
Mihawk was ready to walk off on you but your determination to challenge his night just for a scrap of answers around Shanks compelled him to stay. Just as your drink was passed, he returned your previous action and stole it before it reached your fingers.
Smirking, he downed it in one. “You've convinced me. I’ll help you find your pirate.” He said. "My ship is over-”
“I have my own ship, thank you very much.” You scoffed back.
Mihawk glanced behind you, noticing the simple ship you had acquired for your travels. “You’ll drown in that thing before you leave the bay and I have no desire to tell Shanks that you died on my watch.” He stated matter-of-factly.
Mihawk stood up and stretched his legs a little. “Meet me at the far end of the pier at dawn. I’ll be with you right after I duel with and kill Roronoa Zoro.” Mihawk declared and with a swish of his coat, vanished into the darkness.
As the buzz of the booze began to wear off, you realise his last comment.
“Did you say you were going to kill Zoro?” You asked aloud and stumbled off your seat in a rush to run after the man. “Mihawk, wait!”
