Two thoughts about God of War

The first is that it's amazing that we have such two well-written games with great character work that released within the past 5 years. A character with a legacy getting treated well by canon is kinda rare. We also got to build new favorites and branch out to new players who may have never interacted with GoW when it was a very game-y action game. Powerful themes about fatherhood, coming of age, learning your place in the world, becoming a better person - all of these are explored in a realistic way, where set-ups exist and payoffs actually happen, instead of just paying lip service to nice ideas.

This game would be significantly shorter if everyone just fucked about it instead of starting a war.

Tommy Shelby x Reader

Warnings: self-doubt, worry of past lovers returning…nothing too major

Word Count: 1018

Summary: Tommy assures (Y/N) that she’s the only woman he wants after two women from his past reappear in his life.

She must’ve read the return address a dozen times. Why? She didn’t know. It wasn’t like reading it again was going to make the sender’s name change. But yet she did anyway.

(Y/N) knew who Grace was. She’d heard about her; knew what she’d done to Tommy and his family. So why the hell was she sending him letters now?

At first she spoke to Polly, who told her to hide them. As a clerk at the postmaster’s office, she’d make sure to bring any mail the Shelbys received with her whenever she’d come to visit her boyfriend. When she’d arrive at Watery Lane, she’d follow the older woman’s suggestion and promptly slip the envelope into one of the side table’s drawers; hoping that Tommy wouldn’t find them there. But they just kept coming.

And now as she was walking to Watery Lane with what was the fifth letter Grace had sent, she didn’t know if she could keep up with hiding them. So instead she kept it in her hands, re-reading it until she heard the door open.

She stood to her feet at the sound and walked over to greet her boyfriend, accepting his kiss and shoulder squeeze as a greeting. Tommy knew something was wrong the second he pulled away. (Y/N) wasn’t wearing her usual, welcoming smile. Instead, her expression was blank.

“Has something happened?” he asked her, his brows furrowing together.

“This came in to the post today,” she answered him, extending her hand to hold the envelope out between them.

Tommy’s brows furrowed deeper as he scanned over the words written on the envelope.

“Why does she keep writing you?” (Y/N) couldn’t stop herself from asking, desperate to know why he was still receiving letters from her.

She and Tommy had entered a relationship only five months ago, but she was no stranger to the life that he lived and the company he’d kept in the past. Tommy Shelby was sought after by many, and somehow she’d gotten lucky…or at least that’s what she kept telling herself. No matter how many times his actions reassured her that he was hers alone, that nagging seed of doubt still crept into her mind. Like it was doing now.

“I don’t know why,” he answered with a shake of his head, “I haven’t spoken to her since she left for New York.”

“She’s written to you five times,” (Y/N) couldn’t withhold the information any longer. Tommy’s brows furrowed again upon hearing her admission, so she decided to elaborate: “Polly said that I shouldn’t give them to you; that I should hide them instead. They’re in the side table. I don’t know why I listened to her. I just…I couldn’t bring myself to give them to you.”

Tommy looked down at the letter and back to (Y/N), seeing that she was now biting on her lip, a nervous tendency of hers that he’d noticed fairly early into their relationship.

“May Carleton also came to meet you last week…” she spoke again after silence had hung in the air for a few moments.

“She needed to speak about the horse,” he answered in a nonchalant manner, not thinking much more of the meeting he had with the other woman.

(Y/N), of course, was overthinking it.

“Hey…” Tommy brought her out of her thoughts, making her focus on him again. “I can see you fighting with yourself. Let those thoughts go.”

“I can’t…I just can’t help but wonder if maybe, if maybe that, that with them coming back…” she tried to speak but her mind betrayed her, and the lump that formed in her throat stopped her from speaking altogether.

Not much more was needed to connect the dots though. The clues had been dropped and Tommy was quick enough to pick them up and place them in order. “Those women are in the past, (Y/N). You’re the one I want,” he spoke with sincereity, hoping that it’d quell the thoughts swirling around her mind.

(Y/N) held eye contact with him until she couldn’t anymore. She felt those worries still bubbling up inside of her, even though he’d just flat out told her that he wanted her. She dropped her gaze to her fingers, watching as she picked at her nails.

“(Y/N)…” Tommy tried to get her attention, but to no avail. “Look at me right now,” he went another route, using his index and middle finger to raise her eyes to his again. He could see that they were watery now, and he hated that she was thinking so far into this. He took her cheeks into his hands, pulling her the slightest bit closer to him before speaking again. “There’s no one but you, ok? You’re the one I want to be with. You’re the one I want,” he reiterated his point, his eyes searching hers as he spoke. “Ok?” he asked again after she hadn’t spoken in a few moments.

“Ok,” (Y/N) breathed out, nodding her head the best she could with it held in his hands. She closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, hoping to steady herself. When she opened them again, they immediately hooked onto Tommy’s intense blue ones. “I’m sorry, Tommy,” she felt that she had to apologize.

“Don’t be,” he shook his head slightly at her statement, “there’s no reason for you to be sorry, love.”

“But I…”

“No,” he cut her off, “I’m going to burn this letter, and any other letter that comes. You’re the one I want, (Y/N).”

A small smile formed on her face at his words. She reached out and gently ran the back of her hand down his cheek, watching as his eyes dropped to her lips. Knowing what was coming next, she closed her eyes, leaning in slightly and meeting him in the middle, their lips finding each other’s in a passionate kiss that rid her mind of all of her doubts.

“No one but you, love,” Tommy whispered against her lips before kissing them again.

It starts out just with Chip telling stories about different constellations and the legends surrounding them. Talks about how some people believe all the most brilliant heroes end up in the stars when they die, and how others believe that the stars are the dust left over after the gods carved the sun. How shooting stars are sometimes seen as one of those great heroes returning to the earth to be reborn, and other times seen as a chance to make a wish. Maybe a shooting star streams across the sky one of those nights, and Chip asks Gillion what he wished for. Gillion gets a bit nervous, trying to figure out a way to explain it that isn't weird, before quietly whispering "I wished that I could be with you guys in every universe." Chip might cry. After that, Chip ends up asking Gillion if his people have any similar stories. Gillion hums and talks about the hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean, how legend says that all life originated from them, and that there is a great titan who once watched over them, this massive flatworm that went by the name Cambria. Chip listens with wrapped attention the whole time, occasionally slipping in some jokes and earning either a smile and a light chuckle or a scowl and a reminder not to be disrespectful to the leviathans from Gillion. He decides that as long as he gets to hear about Gillion's world, gets to feel like he's being gently gifted a part of Gillion, he doesn't really mind either reaction.

"As for wishes...." Gillion starts, rolling over on his stomach and peering at Chip next to him. "There is a Sea Wolf, who makes her way into people's dreams, when she knows they need her most. She will ask you for a wish, and if it is truly a beautiful wish that sets your heart alight and fills your soul with purpose, she will grant it." "How does she judge that? Is it just a wish she likes??" "If she is in your dreams, then I suppose she probably can access many things. Knowing whether or not you are truly sincere in your wishes is probably not hard." Gillion leans over Chip. "What would you wish for?" Chip is about to say something stupid, like unlimited bacon, but then he looks up, and his breath catches in his throat. Gillion's coral crown glows faintly, creating a soft halo of light around his soft green hair, that drapes down over him, a few strands just centimeters away from tickling Chip's nose. His pupils are blown out from the dark, capturing the starlight around them as he smiles, gazing down with that same curiosity that Chip fell in love with all that time ago. Chip reaches up with a hand, brushing a thumb across Gillion's cheek. He stares up in awe as the triton looks down at him with just as much admiration. "I'd wish for you to kiss me-" Chip blurts out, not enough time to backtrack on his words before Gillion leans down, pressing his cool lips to Chip's.

It is as incredible as the first time, just as gentle, but this time with far less uncertainty on either side. Far less urgency, far less expectation. Just the two of them pressed up against each other, kissing slowly and lazily, nowhere to be but in each other's company beneath the stars.

The other Power-ups work differently to the Fire/Ice flowers..

Any power-ups that transform the bros bodies usually expend energy by just keeping them transformed. And even if the bros don't actively use that power, it'll eventually just drain itself away.

For example, the super shroom. Making Mario grow big and keeping him big consumes power. If he ate a super shroom and just stood there, eventually he would shrink back to normal. Running around. jumping, punching, that activity would make it drain faster though.

Same goes for the Super bell, mini mushroom, mega mushroom, super leaf, double cherry,,, etc. Just keeping the bros transformed consumes power. The fire/ice flowers don't transform the bros though. Mario and Luigi's bodies stay the same, they just become outlets to expel the flowers power. And if they don't use it.. well.. its gonna stay stored up in their bodies. And eventually freeze/burn them to death..

The only odd case when it comes to Power-ups is the 1-Up mushroom. It stores itself in the host's body, and doesn't effect the host or release its power unless it needs too. Mario could touch a 1-Up, and then 15 years later he dies and that's when the 1-Up will release its power. All though those 15 years Mario would have had 0 side effects from having it in his body. Its as if it didn't exist at all..

Hmm,, I haven't really thought too much about them other than the stuff I already talked about in the OG post..

But I was thinking that the imp species could have all these wacky and bizarre shapes at the end of their tails that dont really make sense..? Jevil's tail being this odd T/Y shape is actually rather bland/common. But other than that,, I cant really think of any other developments to their species <:/ Sorry! I can see them all just living on the octopod. Traveling around the ocean in hopes of finding livable waters. All grieving over the loss of their families.. I cant imagine the pain they'd suffer, the hardships they'd face.. and what they'd have to do to survive..

If any of the three Octodads were to experience a hallucination, it would probably be either Natquik or Calico Jack. But since I'm going through a re-write of Natquik's backstory and I don't actually know how traumatizing his re-write will be... I'm gonna say that Calico Jack is most likely to have one.

Although I'm not sure what would cause it.. mayyybe an encounter with a creature in the everglades could remind him of a traumatizing experience he had..? And that panic could result in hallucinations? I actually know very little about how hallucinations work so its hard to say what would exactly trigger one to occur.. <:(

I have plans for them to encounter a lot of Kwazii's monsters in someway. :0

I don't know if its necessarily pain..? More like.. a panic attack maybe?

When they're separated, their systems are flooded with commands to seek out the other. And if they cant find th.em or reach them? Well.. those commands will get overwhelming.

But that doesn't mean that you cant do maintenance on them. My idea was that there's a simple procedure where you take both of them to parts and service, put one aside and put one on the work bench.. and then shut them both down at the same time. Then when the work is done, reactivate both of them and return them to their room. Easy!

As for why they designed them like this? The main idea I had was that having this A.I. meant that they would naturally follow each other around in a way that seemed natural. Fazbear entertainment really wanted their animatronics to seem life like, but they also don't want Fred and Spring to ever separate. They want them to always be in the same room for photo shoots and meet and greets.

This A.I. means that if Spring is talking to a guest and a kid tried to lead Fred by the hand to another room.. Fred would stop at the doorway and redirect himself and the kid back into the room. "Lets play here instead!" "My friends Spring Bonnie is here, lets play here instead!" Meanwhile Springs conversation remains uninterrupted. This in turn makes them seem more life like and also prevents them from seperating.

Its not very strong reasoning but its all I've got to be honest <XDD

Also as for Spring loosing Fred..? It would be impossible for him to function without Fred. If they scrapped one, they'd have to scrap the other..

ooof... While the video is mostly correct in places, it looks very poorly researched from what information it presents. (Which is the usual case for OSP videos). While Pandora is mentioned as a cunning woman by Hesiod, she's not mentioned as such by Aesop and Aeschylus. So why not mention all sources? Also there are versions of Greek myths where women and men were created at the same time, and also another version where Pandora is not created as an evil gift but she's born of Deukalion and is just curious to see what the box has.

Obviously, we should examine all the resources - including the misogynistic ones ofc! - but take into account sample size before painting ancient Greece like a bunch of brutes who had no regard for women - a very dehumanising view. While the ancient Greek culture was a patriarchal one (And I prefer the modern reality for sure!), only a few writers were misogynistic - well just like modern Greece - you can't make assumptions for the whole country just by examining them. The video paints the picture of the majority of Greek men seeing women as the root of all evil which is widely untrue! You're telling me ancient Greek men didn't love their daughters, wives, aunts, grandmas, female friends..... sure.. sure... Let's trash all the ancient inscriptions, depictions, and letters we have from ancient Greece proving the opposite.

Also near the end of the video, there was a connection between the meaning (not quoting) "Pandora shows us that Greek men hated women" and (quoting) "I guess that's why women were kept on the second floor of the house, malnourished-" WHAT?? Duuuude... Okay there were separate spaces between men and women but they were not NUNs they could go out! Also not every ancient Greek was an upper-class Athenian! And even most of Athenian women had shit to do outside the house. Such a big channel should be aware that the reality of Athenian women could differ depending on their circumstances.

The youtuber also says "Greece I love you but-" no you don't dear. Otherwise you wouldn't reproduce a racist image of our ancient society onto your 2.22 MILLION subscribers. (racist cause it paints the ancient Greek people as brutes, without nuance or humanity at all)

Again, the info presented in the video is accurate BUT at the same time not so accurate, because it doesn't mention any other version, it doesn't say which version they used, and it also doesn't mention accurately how this myth fits into the broader ancient Greek culture. Man, it's just soo weird they didn't mention all the other versions! I guess having the whole POINT of the video being "ooooo misogynyyy" brings views..

Duuuude, A dear friend of mine came to my house so we could hang out and talk about what's been happening in our lives lately, normal, right? But just when we finished greeting each other and we enter my house to continue the conversation, she turns around and says to me "hey, by the way, do you remember the other time? You know, when you started talking to me about that music game that you like so much, well, I remember that you sent me some drawings about that, so I want to give you a little knitted plushie of that guy you always talk about, since it seems like you like him so much" and right after that...BOOM!...she took out a damn Cool P plushie from her backpack!!!

I was soooo excited that I could only scream like I had never done before, she has been doing this knitting thing for a while and I am excited that she will give me something like this out of nowhere, in the end she said that took this as a reference because she thought he looked really cute this way:

I can't do much since it was a small sheet, but I still tried not to leave anything empty because I love how full the sheet looks 😍

I never thought it would be so fun to draw myself, before I suffered a lot since nothing convinced me, but I think this new style (which I created by accident while I was cleaning some ink residue on the tip of my pen 🤡) manages to make me feel satisfied with the result.

Hello, seeing the conversation I'd like to share my own experience with a bharani native, one of my best friends was a bharani moon, venus and rahu stellium in the 2nd house. Shes very intelligent and talented in mathematics, she was popular in school, and someone always had a crush on her. She was never interested though, as she is aromantic and asexual.

I do not mean to bad mouth her or say that she is a terrible person, Humans are complex and I still have a lot of affection for her since we were best friends since childhood but our relationship turned sour similarly as others have expressed concerning bharani natives.

As soon as I hit a low point in my mental health, she started distancing herself from me. She was always very uncomfortable with expressing her emotions and even more so with handling others, but she basically abandoned me in my time of need. It was quite traumatizing and I honestly felt betrayed by her since we were so close. She herself admitted in the future that she did me extremely wrong, we reconnected for a bit, but her emotionally immature and uncaring, cold attitude and mentally persisted in our early young adulthood.

Me and her were also very close with a magha moon and rising girl, we were basically inseparable for years, but she started to treat her with the same coldness as she did me for seemingly no reason. She also did the same to my other pushya girl best friend for no reason. My magha best friend had a conversation with her and she thought they buried the hatchet, we invited her for our magha friend's birthday but she ended up canceling the exact same day citing a BS excuse. She continued to do this 3 more times for her birthday and my mother's birthday.

She was/is the easily bored, emotionally distant type, but we always worked around that in our dynamic, and this behavior was unacceptable. The last time she canceled coming to our friend's birthday, THE VERY SAME DAY, I finally snapped. I was just so upset at her dishonesty, because she clearly didn't want to go/didn't care, but she still accepted to go Everytime! It was like having a deadbeat father for a best friend! I was so angry cause I just wanted her to be truthful, wanted her to just admit she didn't want to go/didn't care for our friendship anymore, but she didn't even respond to that.

It was just very traumatizing to experience how someone you loved so much could stop loving you in an instant, made you wonder if they even loved or cared for you in the first place, the three of us were basically sisters, I always imagined her at my wedding, my graduation, my life.

So yeah, sorry for trauma dumping, but I think the casual coldness of bharani needs to be studied, cause why are some of them like that 😭

DUUUUDE 😭😭😭😭 i literally have two Bharani friends who are just like this lol 🥲ngl it did traumatize me at one point but then I stopped expecting anything from them and stopped reaching out and honestly it's all better that way. Tysm for sharing your experience because I thought having bad experiences with Venusian women (and mostly pleasant experiences with Venusian men) was a me thing 😬. I think people talk a lot about Venusian charisma, social charm and hospitality but forget to mention how cold, uncaring and insensitive they can be. I think it's one manifestation of Venusian refinement, they discard people who aren't doing their best or feeling their best. Absolutely not people you want to reach out to when you're in a tough spot bc they won't gaf 🥲. It hurt me a lot when I'd call them up (in my case, I was always there for her, hyping her, cheering her, being her shoulder to lay on) and they'd act disinterested when I'm literally talking through tears?? She straight up told me she's tired and wants to sleep lol and then said "you know I'm not the type of friend who can comfort you" like 🤧okay??? I felt really used in those friendships and betrayed as well?? I remember one time this friend who frequently visits my city to hang out with her other friends and never meets me (we went 3ish years without talking at one point) called me one night to make plans for the next day and the next day morning she said "oh I'm busy rn let's meet by noon" and then at noon said she had something else going on and then i said I'm not interested in meeting lol . She always told me she couldn't reach out to me cause of her phone/network/social media whatever random excuse and I believed her cause I wanted to and then I spoke to a dude who's pretty close friends with her and he told me about how they always met each other whenever she was in town and always hung out??? and he was sharing stories of times they spend together and I was so?? shook?? like the same person who cannot reach out to me is hyperconnected to some random guy ?? My other Venusian friend told me she stopped talking to her close friend after she started experiencing health issues and then got surgery??? I do think Venusians only want to stick around for the good times, they're like "party friends" but they're completely unreliable when it comes to anything that isn't fun for them. Venusians are the type to treat people as disposable and then get mad when others treat them that way lol . They're used to believing they're irreplaceable but truth be told, everybody can be replaced esp toxic, rude and negative people. I think I strongly dislike Venusian women bc they're so absorbent?? They love to take from others without giving in return. But it's interesting to me how Venusian men are the opposite?? They love to give endlessly even tho they do expect their partner to match their energy and be receptive to them and not shut them out?? his clothes were really nothing out of the ordinary. except, of course, they were his. and they were soft and inexplicably warm but above all they all smelled like him. that’s why you found yourself standing in front of his wardrobe on a thursday afternoon while he was out on quidditch practice. 

winter was fast approaching and you couldn’t ask your furnace of a boyfriend to keep you warm every night but, you knew a sweater of his would do the trick just fine. you also knew he would never notice some of his clothes being missing, as long as you kept it down to five items at most. he never noticed when you took his things or at least that’s what you thought. 

cedric’s practice had ended earlier than usual today due to the expected rain that would soon fall on the castle. there was nothing he wished more in the world than cuddling up to you in his dorm room, except for perhaps a shower. 

he all but skipped his way to his room, overly eager to spend the rest of the day surrounded by the smell of your shampoo while he listened to you talk. he silently opened his door as to not disrupt the peace of the hall and avoid drawing attention towards himself, and only as he closed the door to his prefect room did he see you. or well, the back of you. you were so lost in your mission of rummaging through his closet that you missed how he took a couple steps towards you and finally wrapped his arms around your middle, effectively startling you. 

“can’t say i’m surprised to see where my clothes have been shipping off. i just wondered when i would see this scene with my own eyes” he said with a smile as he pressed his lips to the space right below your ear, leaving a series of kisses there. 

“you knew?”

“of course i knew my love. your scent lingers when you return my things”

you turned in his embrace so that you were now face to face. “why didn’t you say anything?”

“why would i?” he leaned down to kiss your lips but you leaned backwards. earning a frown from him. 

“you’re not upset?”

he squeezed at your sides and repeated his question. “why would i? it seems my things were made for you to wear” he again leaned down to peck your lips and this time you let him. “i even started to leave the things that didn’t smell like you anymore where you would find them and take them”

you laughed at this. “what?”

“i could tell which things were your favorite” the pull between your brows didn’t loosen. “the brown hoodie disappears more often than not, and sometimes i see my spare tie used as an accessory. you somehow always forget a scarf when we’re going down to hogsmeade and i saw my red sweater under my jean jacket in an outfit you wore sometime last week”

he fell back on his bed and sat there, face nuzzled on your chest. “i found all of those things lying around”

he hummed, eyes still closed. “you know i’m not a messy guy”

and he wasn’t, never a thing out of it’s assigned place. and yet the best pieces, your favorite pieces, were always lying around in plain sight. you looked down at him, his eyes now open and looking up at you. a smile making his cheeks puffy. 

“i missed you today” he hummed and pulled you down to sit on his lap. pressing a loving kiss to your temple. “now what can a guy do to get you on that blue sweater you like and under the covers with me? i could use a nap”

Anyway, I wanted to write an appreciation post cause we saw with our very own eyes how fast he grew as an actor. In just a year he played 4 characters who are in very different age groups going through very different things. Not an easy task to pull off but he did it. He did it all so well!!!

We got Mark as a high schooler (Thiu in My School President)

Mark played two dudes in their early 20s (Saleng in Moonlight Chicken & Nick in Only Friends)

AND Mark ins his late 20s / late young-adulthood (Night in Last Twilight)

this is ALL WITHIN A YEAR!! after the teeny role in IPYTM he immidiately got signed under GMM and got. to. WORK!

and this isn’t counting him originally getting casted in Cooking Crush before having to do a re-cast cause… well obviously he was over-booked.

What is up with the Marks of the world and wanting to be constantly busy??? We got Mark Lee debuting like 5 different groups + as a solo artist and now we got Mark Pakin who’s booked more roles than many actors whos been in the industry for as long as he has. LEARN TO TAKE A GOOD BREAK MY DUDES!!

anyway SKILLS!! This dude can act!! from playing a best friend whos fed up with his bestie being a loser over his crush to playing a guy committing crimes out of pure jealousy.. he has range and he improved a whole dang lot.

Compared to Mark in the warp effect where we saw him in like.. 10 scenes max.. to Mark as Night in Last Twilight which also about the same number of scenes ((so far)), he's done really good.

the greatest example is Mark as Nick.

duuuude when I tell ya, whenever he popped those heart eyes at Boston I was convinced I knew exactly what he was feeling. He did great at conveying feelings through his eyes and subtle body movements. When he cried, I cried even though Nick was in the wrong.. like he did great!! When he was jealous, I was jealous. I might be an empath who tends to mirror other peoples emotions OR it could just be.. he is THAT good.

Maybe I'm biased or whatever but I believe he's one of the upcoming thai actors you gotta look out for cause.. bros been getting that bag, and he will continue to do so and I will happily watch any series or movies he'll be in.

Alright, so that ending where you get your foot crushed and Cass meets someone in NYC? Yeah. That one killed me T^T Of course I had to write some angsty romance about it lol. Let’s get into it!

You had done everything to make sure the show was a success.

… You had done everything to make sure Cassandra was a success.

Those stupid stans. They had ruined everything. At the opening night performance, you saw a mysterious shadow while you were waiting in the wings. You had to go investigate it. You went up onto the the catwalk and saw them. Laughing and giggling like idiots as they held those paint cans. Their obsession with Cass was disturbing. Willing to hurt other people just to get closer to her…

They were trying to douse you, but they were too dumb to realize that they would have just made Cass a laughing stock as well by doing this. They would have only sabotaged their own goal.

You confronted them and they panicked. In their haste to get away, they threw the cans at you and crushed your foot. You could feel that multiple bones were broken. The stage manager called you an ambulance and they carted you away.

While you never would have wanted Cass to miss opening night… She didn’t even come to see you at the hospital later on. You texted her a few times and she answered back, but… She was just… So caught up in her own production. Plus, her mother whisked her away to NYC after all the shows were finished. You texted again… But this time she didn’t answer at all.

That had been two fucking months ago.

How… Could she be so… Cold toward you? After everything the two of you went through together? She was always so kind and empathetic. What happened to her? Had she tasted her first bit of fame and just forgotten about you?

You grumble to yourself as you remember everything and hobble over to the library to study. Yep. Still in a cast. Your foot is so sore and you can barely walk. The doctor said it will start to get better soon, but that’s the least of your worries at the moment. Your pathetic life and the apparent loss of your first real love are eating you up inside. Will Cass ever come back? Will she finally text you? Maybe even give you a call? Damn. What you wouldn’t give to hear her voice right about now…

You stumble through the doors and try to find a table to work at.

But then you see her. You almost think you’re hallucinating before she spots you and comes barreling over.

“Y/N! I missed you, my star,” She says and pulls you into an unexpected hug.

Your eyes widen in surprise. You want to be pissed. You certainly have the right. She ghosted you when you needed her the most. However… She’s so warm. Her luscious curves feel so good against your weary body. The signature scent of coffee clings to her and you feel yourself soothed by her embrace. You’re just relieved she’s back, honestly.

Cass eventually pulls away and smiles at you.

You try to smile back, but it looks like more of a grimace.

Cass takes note of your gaunt face, the bags under your eyes and the tense set of your jaw. She’s an actress, after all. It’s her job to notice these kinds of things. “Y/N? You don’t look well at all,” She says and pulls up a chair to sit next to you.

You bite your lip and look away. “I’m fine,” You murmur.

Cass is not convinced. “Y/N. Please tell me what’s going on,” She pleads.

You finally meet her eyes. “You… Just left. You never even came to see me in the hospital,” You say, voice sounding incredibly small.

Cass’s eyes immediately look so pained. “Oh, Y/N. I would have, but-”

“I get it. Your show was running. But… Even after it was over and before you went to New York. You still never came,” You say. “Then you stopped answering my texts. I thought you were pissed because I couldn’t play Romeo. I felt guilty and decided to give you some space,” You feel yourself rambling. You take a deep breath to calm yourself. “I know we were just supposed to be working on the show together. I just thought I meant more to you than that, you know?”

Cass is… Heartbroken. Tears trail silently down her cheeks. She didn’t realize how much she had hurt you. “Of course you do, Y/N. I’m… So sorry,” She says, breaking down and sobbing into her hands. “I should have visited you. I just got swept up in everything.”

You… Didn’t expect her to be so sad. Does she really care about you… As more than just a scene partner? You can’t stand to see her cry. You reach out to hold her hand. “Hey… It’ll be okay, Cass,” You say softly. “I was upset, but… Yeah, I forgive you,”

She looks up at you, hopeful. “You do?” She sniffles.

You surprise yourself by smiling. You’re just so glad she’s back. You can’t find it in yourself to be angry with her anymore. “I do, Cass. It’s really good to see you.”

Cass gives you a watery grin and leans over to hug you once more. “It’s good to see you as well,” She says. She nervously reaches into her pocket and pulls out a keychain. “Here. This is for you,” She says and hands it over to you. “It’s not much, but… I saw it and wanted to get it for you,” She says quietly.

Your eyes widen slightly at this. She was thinking about you while she was away? Then… Why didn’t she answer your texts? You take the keychain. It’s still warm from her pocket… “Thanks,” You whisper in disbelief.

Before you can say anything else, though, Cass suddenly looks away, unable to meet your gaze. “I’m… Moving to New York, Y/N,” She reveals.

… You swear your heart shatters into a million pieces. She can’t possibly mean… Could she?

“I met somebody and… I want to see where it goes,” She says guiltily.

What? She’s… Leaving? Just like that?

… And she “Met someone”? Oh, shit. That sucks even more.

“Y/N, can we please keep in touch?” She asks suddenly, gripping your hand and pleading with a fierce determination in her eyes. “I… Need you in my life. Even if I’m across the world,” She begs.

You are silent for a long while.

Wow.

You just got friend-zoned in the absolute worst way possible.

You sigh and nod weakly. “Sure,” You say half-heartedly. But you know the truth. You both will text each other for a bit. Then the intervals between her answering your messages will begin to get longer and longer. Eventually you’ll lose touch as Cass will be out on Broadway, dazzling crowds. She’ll move on and forget about you.

Yeah, you’ll keep in touch… But will she?

5 years. It’s been 5 years since you’ve seen that gorgeous smile in person. You wait nervously on the back of the sound stage before a producer signals you to get into position.

Cass is currently being interviewed on a late night talk show. She’s completely blown up ever since she started doing movies. She’s the Hollywood “It” girl.

You’re scheduled to perform and then join the interview. Those fucking media moguls knew that you had a past with Cass. They lined you up like this on purpose, you’re sure of it. You sigh and go over a few things with the sound techs before you go on.

You’re here with your band. You… Kind of reinvented yourself after everything went down with Cass. You needed a change and so you… Tried to become someone else. A rocker who slacked off with their friends and bandmates. You eventually dropped out of Miranda’s University and began touring with your band. You played huge festivals and started garnering a big audience. You were on your way to becoming a real rockstar. But… Were you truly happy? Your personal life kind of stagnated. Your bandmates and friends were getting married, going on luxurious vacations… But you still feel like that same, dumb freshman. It’s pathetic. You’ve had a lot of one-night stands with random women and groupies on the road, but you haven’t dated anyone since… her. It’s stupid, though. You two weren’t ever a couple. Why were you so lovesick over her? You were since the very first time you met her, if you were being honest.

You recently read in the trashy tabloids that Cass had just given birth to her first child… You read any article written about her religiously. She looked happy in the picture you saw of her holding her baby. Cass named her little one Amber. You faintly remember how much she adored the color. A fond smile tugs your lips. She’s going to be just as much of a handful as Cass is.

And, of course, as if your brain doesn’t have enough to process right now, you’re obsessing over Cass’s love life. She doesn’t date very much and quickly stopped seeing that other woman in New York she told you about (You enjoy this fact way too much). She made it clear publicly that she was happy being single, but she wanted children. She had found a sperm donor and decided to raise her little one all on her own. She’ll adjust what parts and jobs she takes as Amber grows and requires different things from her. Plus, she’s got the best support system in the world with her sisters and mother.

Cass is fully moving on with her life. Without you. It stings. Even after all of these years… Fuck, how pathetic.

Suddenly, the stage producer breaks you from your musings and begins the countdown. This is your first time on national TV. You should be focusing on that. Not the beautiful brunette sitting just across the studio from you. You wish you could have spoken to her before the show started. Nothing like an uncomfortable reunion in front of a captive audience…

You take a deep breath and close your eyes before the curtain in front of you opens to wild applause.

Ugh. Let’s just get this fucking night over with…

I mean, Vaemond had it coming. There has never been a greater fool born than the one who'd scream at DAEMON TARGARYEN's wife, call her children bastards and call her a whore in front of the whole court with DAEMON standing right there!!!

^ not sure what Vaemond was thinking, i mean, did he really think he was getting out of that hall alive after that? ...duuuude...

So here's where it all started getting heated, Daemon's watching the scene, Rhaenyra's turning her head slightly towards Daemon subconsciously, without really looking at him, just him being there is reassuring for her:

And just as Vaemond starts with his BS for real, we see Daemon giving Rhaenyra this knowing look >>>

^ to me it looks like Daemon being partly amused that the fool would dare, and also reassuring Rhaenyra with this look like 'i've got this babe, don't you worry'

And right after, Daemon redirects his attention to Vaemond in an ominous way, 'EVIL' written all over his face :D i'd shit my pants, Vaemond, how did you not get it?!

And that's when Daemon graciously gives Vaemond ONE.LAST.CHANCE.

- "SAY IT"- Daemon says, basically hissing...

for a moment it looks like Vaemond indeed is shitting his pants, his lip trembling (out of anger?) .... but then he ultimately signs his death warrant, oh the fool... does he think Daemon is kiddin' ??? he knew Daemon had murdered in cold blood without blinking an eye FOR MUCH LESS, not to mention, getting rid of his 1st wife to be able to marry the Rhaenyra this fool is just offending, i mean, what the hell, Vaemond ???

Suicidal Vaemond then turns to Daemon fully and SHOUTS at pregnant Rhaenyra's husband that "her children are baaaastaaaards"

i can't help but laugh at Otto's reaction the moment Vaemond stops just seconds before (probably) attempting to call Rhaenyra a whore for the first time but hesitating for a second,

This is Otto's face when he sees Vaemond's attempt and Daemon's face :D :D :D

there's horror and alert written all over Otto's face :D he knows that you do not mess with HUSBAND and DADDY DAEMON, calling his wife names, Otto's face is literally like "oh no oh no oh no Vaemond don't you dare, i still have use of you you old fool, stop it , stop right there, you don't wanna piss Daemon off, you don't wanna mess with his wife"

and then it's as if Vaemond started believing in himself a little too much, cuz obviously he did not get Daemon's subtle message, and decided to go like "and SHE IS A WHOOORE" in front of pregnant Rhaenyra's husband and right to her father king's face, wtf Vaemond, you really are dumb >>>

^^ and long story short, THOSE were the last words this foolish man had ever spoken :D head(s) started rolling... (one. for now.)

I would also love to highlight Otto's reaction JUST BEFORE this moment and just AFTER Vaemond called Rhaenyra a whore :D :D OTTO totally KNEW that was IT. The way he took a deep breath and turned around and away from Vaemond like, oh why oh why, Vaemond.... oh yeah, this alliance was good while it lasted...

also, the next pic Otto already low-key mourning Vaemond :D he knew that was IT for Vaemond :D

And so when the head rolled, we got a really interesting pic of the Greens' reactions :D you gotta love their reactions, it speaks volumes about their characters

Anyway... Daemon totally not sorry, staring down at dead Vaemond with contempt, casually leaning on his Dark sister like nothing's happened

and he's proud of himself, too ...for the justice. "He can keep his tongue" Daemon's sass at its finest. Murdering for his family is the best kind of murdering. The satisfaction. No one's gonna call his wife a whore in his presence without losing a head

Otto was kinda horrified after that, (fearing more heads were gonna roll while Daemon's at it?? Otto knew Daemon hated him with passion, and he knew Daemon knew how much of a scheming manipulative Rhaenyra and Viserys hating ass Otto was - perhaps he thought Daemon was gonna deal with all their haters at that point? so he just needed Daemon disarmed ASAP:

Daemon couldn't've been calmer at that point :D calmly saying "no need" as he wiped the blood off his sword, using his own garments for that, wild

BUT the look Daemon gave Otto after that!!! he knew Otto was shitting his pants. And Daemon was low-key making a point, JUST YOU DARE SAY A WORD AGAINST MY WIFE OR KIDS, heads gonna roll, Otto . For real.

And... I'm just gonna say it was about time idiots started answering for treason, for constantly speaking against and disrespecting the future Queen and her children. Now Daemon was there, the defender of the Realm, his Queen and wife's protector, their children's daddy, and from now on NO ONE was gonna say shit about his wife without getting his head chopped off anymore. Daemon looked like he hoped he made himself clear and was pretty happy with himself.

Calm, sassy and contented Daemon. In his element. And with his loving family, NOW more powerful than EVER before.

So I started Ragnarok last night; here are my thoughts:

I love love LOVE how much closer Kratos & Atreus are instantly shown to be. There’s a huge contrast between their distance in the last game & their easy familiarity in this one.

I’m calling it now but the sled dogs (wolves) are gonna be Skol & Hati.

RIGHT into it w/ Freya to let us know this has been happening for years. I thought it would be the most obvious that bc Kratos killed her son, Freya’s gonna try to kill Atreus. I wasn’t sure she would do that tho, but immediately in her 1st attack she punches Atreus in the face, throws him off the sled, & I think she tried to stab him? It was going really fast so I couldn’t tell but it looked like she tried? So now I’m even less sure. Combat btw is fast paced & engaging.

We didn’t need to start w/ the dog (wolf) dying but okay. Love Kratos trying to help Atreus through his grief in his own way, even if it doesn’t come out quite right.

Also fairly certain that Fenrir was buried instead of burned so they can bring him back intact later on, if that is supposed to be the real Fenrir. Either w/ time travel junk like Jorm or Hel’s death magic.

FAYE?!??! O my god?!??! I’m in love?!?!? Her constantly teasing Kratos IMMEDIATELY after we meet her is just shehfjddjdjdzk?!!?! “Grumbles” duuuude “Am I meant to decipher your grunting?” no I’m definitely in love. It’s so clear that Atreus’s nature as Loki is all her (emphasized by her wearing yellow) & I love it. Also love the callback to the first hunt in the last game when Kratos tells Faye “This is your hunt.” Also can I point out that Kratos saw Faye - same height as him at 7 foot something - perform the same godlike feats of strength as him w/ the same ease & instead of thinking, “Hey I don’t think this woman’s mortal,” thought instead, “Damn, Scandinavian women are built differently.” BRO SHE LIFTED A TREE & then spooky shit happens.

OH SO WE’RE IMMEDIATELY ADDRESSING KRATOS DEAD ON THE WALL, OKAY

“Why won’t this bear fucking die?”

“HOLY SHIT IT’S ATREUS NO”

“Oh he can heal, it’s okay. Also HE CAN SHAPESHIFT THE LOKI POWERS ARE COMING IN YES”

“Kratos was seconds away from killing his other child.”

Speaking of which, Atreus has gotta find out at some point in the game that Kratos had a whole other family. Idk if it’ll come from Kratos but there’s a huge possibility that it won’t. Clearly the Aesir know the gist but if they know he killed his family then Atreus could find out this terrible info from a terrible source at a terrible time.

Speaking of the Aesir, I somehow missed Thor’s height. I thought Tyr was tall but holy shit, Thor’s gotta be like 9 feet. Love everything about this version btw; design, voice, characterization are all on point.

Odin was a bit underwhelming, he kinda looked like a Pope, but I think that’s the point. Odin in Norse myths has a habit of going out in disguise to get people off their guard so it makes sense that this Odin wouldn’t be an imposing figure. Few outside the Aesir would get to see that.

Atreus is looking for Tyr & pretty close to finding him too, nice. Not so nice that Odin & Thor know about it.

HOLY SHIT THE SCRIPTED DEATH THAT TOOK YOU TO A MENU & THE RESURRECTION?!?! What a mindfuck. I’m not ready for the rest of this game.

I don’t think Atreus declined Odin’s invitation to Asgard. Not a good thing given Thor saying that Odin’s got plans for him, those plans likely being execution bc Ragnarok doesn’t happen w/out Loki. What else are you hiding Boy?

I thought that what turned out to be called a stalker was gonna be a full on character, not just a regular baddie. Little disappointed. She looked cool tho.

God I missed the dwarves. Sindri tryna act like he hasn’t been helping Atreus, then cowering from Kratos when the truth comes out & Atreus having to get between them (fairly certain that Kratos was partially fucking w/ him tho). & Brok saying to Atreus “What’s that doing in my workshop?” & KRATOS NOT GETTING THE JOKE “That is my son.” THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THESE 5 ARE GOLD & I’M SO GLAD KRATOS ATREUS & MIMIR ARE BEING PUT UP W/ THEM.

We’re less than 2 hours into the game & most of the stuff in the trailers has been shown or referenced already. So as stated above, I’m not ready for the rest of this game.

I dont know if this is something youd want to hear, but i absolutely love how during the beehive quest, brad is constantly emasculated and put down for being ugly and fat and bald and worthless and everything a man shouldnt be. But then during the campfire cutscene right after, Queen tells him hes hot. Not in a pitying compliment way, but in a way that someone actually believes in and likes about him.

I just thought that everything that was said to brad during that quest was a culmination of everything that has been said to him growing up, and that hes said to himself as well. And that someone saying he actually thinks hes hot... he needed something like that.

i forever love love queen's campfire scene esp when you get it right after the beehive quest. brad faces quite a bit of general 'old and bald' stuff in the game. and brad's general silence makes it kinda hard to know what he feels? i think in most cases we assume as players that brad is cold and stone faced. which i dont think is wrong. but the new dialogs, and especially in queen's, do show how stuff gets to him.

there is a very long line of emasculation and toxic masculinity in Brad's life. Marty and his grandfather push it so hard-- a lot of the emasculation can be seen in Brad's flashbacks/new dream. Brad is put down a *lot* in that way and we see it again with that quest. (and that weird island. place? that weird place where he also has to put on the dress? that whole thing was weird in another way lol. but it still brings up the idea).

queen is very straight forward and has no issue throwing down the compliments-- i think its something he is genuine about because hes a gay middle aged man living in a world of other middle aged men. and no one in olathe is gonna fall in that conventional attraction category, esp considering the state of the world. no ones keeping up with shit about their looks lmao. especially stereotypical cis straight men.

brad certainly has a lot of shyness and repression around the topic of sex but i think its easy to assume the series of actual compliments he gets from queen stun him because its the complete opposite of what hed been hearing. anything along the lines of him in some kind of sexual fashion'/context was degrading. but queen's compliments that lean towards sexual interest were actually positive. its probably some of the only words he has heard that can raise his self-esteem because they dont put him down for those aspects.

but yeah i wholly agree. the topic of brad and femininity and masculinity is an interesting one in the context of that quest. because outside of those negative experiences from others we also got to see how hes indulged with 'girly' things for younger girls (lisa and buddy). which i think is cute and lovely. but knowing one of those situations, with lisa, ended with them be reprimanded (to what degree...? who knows) i feel like that also could have been an easy starting point for being closed off with things that were not "masculine" enough... and then further comments in regards to his looks and whatnot-- comments insulting him for what are male features/ugly or even being treated in that sexual aspect as if being seen as feminine and being treated poorly through projected sexism like in the beehive situation............... it would all easily bring bad association to all of that.

Some headcanons:

- Eddie picks up on Mike being gay really quickly, and absolutely knows Mike has a crush on him.....

- When not in a public space....there is a 90% chance that Mike and Will are holding hands, the other 10% is them sitting stupidly close to each other

- Post breakup Mike and El start a book club with each other as a way to hang out and it's exactly as adorable as it sounds

i can definitely see eddie picking up on mike being gay quickly, eddie strikes me as someone who is pretty emotionally intelligent and observant, like how he dealt w chrissy. i also just think that mike is obvious asf and rlly gay. i feel like eddie probably sees his (younger) self in mike a bit, yk the whole repressed gay bullied dungeon master nerd thing. i could see mike maybe coming out to him (way later tho, he rlly has shit he needs to deal with) and eddie being really kind to him and telling him what he wished someone had said to a younger version of himself. eddie has the potential to be a really positive presence in his life and someone who he can be himself in front of and to get advice from with general life as well as his sexuality, similar to steve and dustin.

i’m a big believer in mike and will being clingy asf like it took THAT long for them to get together AND they keep being separated by life threatening inter-dimensional creatures??? nahhh they definitely the type to hold hands w each other and do every other task one handed to an insanely irritating degree lmaoo

mike and el book club is SO real to me now you have no idea what this has done to my brain oh my goddddd. it probably starts with el wanting her writing and vocabulary to be better since we know she struggles with that, and mike offering to help. and man there is no way mike isn’t a book nerd like look at him, dramatic ass gay little dungeon master. i could totally see them doing little book club meetings in mike’s basement and talking and giggling for hours abt their favourite books. i could also totally see them getting in big (but lighthearted) arguments over their differing opinions for hours.

OH my god hi i'm actually super honored that you decided to ask me about this stuff ^_^ Now stop me if you've heard of these before/listen to them already but; here are some artists i like that you might like as well based on what i'm reading here, i tried to pick some more niche ones but who knows!...

DJ Technorch is an absolute classic. If you know Gabber you've most likely heard of Technorch, but let me put this one in the list just in case you havent. The Best Selection albums are probably the best place to start, then branch out to other stuff by them...

Algorithm Dude. ALGORITHM DUUUUDE. Woefully niche artist making "YTPcore" music, which is essentially loud as fuck speedcore with dated meme audio clips put in. This is as loud as it gets and I LOVE it. THIS ALBUM SAMPLES 101 TRACKS is extremely fun to start with, but pretty much all Algodude releases are as crazy as the other. (10/10 would get tinnitus again)

While we're still on the topic of Elysian Tunes, SIX TON DOG has XPLOSIVEZ and it is an incredible work of gabber. Sadly, this is also the only album under that alias but you can find some more tracks in THE TUNES albums. Dont fuck with Elysian Tunes heads there's like 10 of us but with your help there could be 11....

bye2 is a master of jungle/breaks. Her songs go in like 10 different directions at once and feel like a whole self-contained symphony. Uses a lot of samples of other stuff as well, but it all fits so well and feels original. Metamorphose is my favorite album of hers, but the soundcloud contains a whole lot more stuff, which includes tracks that lean more towards gabber, and play with distortion.

Nanoray is one of the more popular artists on this list i think? But he's gotta be a contender for my favorite artist of all time. His work evolves a lot over the years, and last year's breakcore is the next year's gabber - ZAPPER is a very well loved drum n bass album by him; but i also love the somewhat-hidden gem that is the gabber album TOYBOX. WOULD ALSO like to mention SPIRAL​ 「​1995​」, which leans HARD into hardcore techno. It's one of a kind. (also Spiral+ is a thing. bonus tracks!!)

Kaizo Slumber is so important. I've listened to him for a month but my life wouldn't be the same. The Kaizo Demos and Kaizo Manifesto are more "light-weight" DnB with elements of gabber, but later releases like How Are We Feeling Today (personal favorite) go full gabber+digital hardcore and it fucking ROCKS.

Have you listened to Gynx, when will you listen to Gynx...This is some serious speedcore. This is what maximum Fun sounds like to me.

(Honorable mention to The Walls Are Trying To Kill Me and Impact by corru.works, they usually make synthwave but youre sure to enjoy these tracks...)

Duuuude a side story drama with Guin 2 would be so fucking sick, ESPECIALLY WITH WHAT U SAID ABOUT IT WITH THE ARTHUR AND GUIN POLY????

Also, I just like the idea Guin 2 already trying to do the whole Odile shtick, but Lance is like "lmao idk who you are. Why are you pretending to know me??" Way too casually

YEAH there’s so much potential for the poly there. The divide between Guinevere & Lancelot being forced against Arthur. The conflict they’re all feeling with eachother. Arthur may be under a love potion for false Guinevere but he’d still know the truth of his feelings for Lancelot and the hurt to have Lancelot so completely denounce him. Lancelot’s conflict about having to fight Arthur even though they KNOW it’s the right decision and that they have to save Guinevere. Guin’s mix of hurt that Arthur could do this to her as well as her fear for him being stuck under the false Guinevere’s influence. As well as the love and relief to know that at least she still has Lancelot but even that’s colored by fear and guilt for their safety and the fact that they are again putting themselves in so much danger for her. The immense guilt Arthur would have to feel after it’s all said and done. The work and rebuilding of trust between them and Arthur after such an episode. How do you come back from that? How can they repair the divide between them and Arthur?

AND it has potential for some really good moments for the Galehaut romance AND the Gawain-Guin Poly.

Galehaut is like the chief ally of Lancelot and Guin during the episode. To the point where he even promises to go to war against Arthur for Guinevere and would sacrifice his life to save her. Simply because Lancelot loves Guin and so he cares for Guin too.

Gawain is similarly a major ally, being the first and main knight (though most of the round table follows him) to decry and renounce Arthur’s actions toward Guinevere and prefers exile to letting Guin be executed.

Also lol yeah, False Guin pulls up and Lancelot’s just like: Wow! Nice to meet you Not Guin! Funny you share the same name what a coincidence!
