as my good friend and i like to remind each other:
don't yuck people's yum. if you do so, at least keep it in the dms. no point in making people feel absolutely miserable for liking a certain thing, for having an oc you don't like - whatever it is. people constantly hating just for the sake of hating truly sour the fandom experience on social medias. there's a problem if the only way you feel better is by making others feel like crap.
and you, who shares the things you love online, who creates original characters and talks about their ships - know that you will never be able to please everyone and that's okay. don't let it stop you from sharing what you love, if it brings you happiness then keep doing it. you don't owe anyone anything, if what you like somehow upsets people, they can very easily just block you and move on. it's really that simple!

that post that's like "you need to have a varied media diet or you will turn into the kind of guy who runs a su discourse blog" is so right. keeping old mutuals is crucial too, like i might be into silly kids-friendly RPG n°17 at the moment, but the "if you write this it means you condone bad things in real life!!" discourse rings pretty hollow when half my dash is still discussing cannibalism

oh also to that anon on rani's post. if they're here for some reason ...
you also get to decide whats ok with you and whats not. if you dont think endels are ok, whatevs, block us all, im sure it isnt personal against me so i dont care. but u should at least understand the full scope of whats going on before deciding whether or not endelic people and p-shifters are morally equal to u, or whatever u might be thinking !
there are definitely even delusional people out there who are totally not cool with endelic people existing openly. that is fine. the entire point of being [delusional and] RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF on the internet is curating your space to make sure you're not being presented with content that will harm you
this is the reason why any posts i have which discuss delusions in detail (delusional lore) are properly tagged and the tagging system is pinned on the front of my blog, and is also the reason why i encourage other delusional people to use the same tagging convention! so we can be safe!!

Hey if you're gonna post negativity about a character could you maybe censor their name in the tags so it doesn't show up in the main tags for people who like that character
im not sure what chatacter this ask is alluding 2 b/c i dont remember "posting negatively" abt a character but im assuming this is abt the comic i made yesterday so let me clear something up,
right off the bat, i do not hate moon. i am not "posting negativity" about him. what i am doing is engaging in playful teasing of my audience. i know they like him (as do i) and am pointing the finger at them and saying, "haha! you wanna kiss him so baaadd :]]" in a lighthearted manner. its based off a series of comics i made back in june-july where sun n y/n kissed and then ppl started asking me "when's moon kiss?!?!" if you're new here i like ta poke fun and in this case im teasing yall. i like him too.
2nd: if i am going to post negatively abt a character (which i almost never do) i am NOT going to censor the tags. if a person doesn't like my takes on a character that much, they can block me. we've had this discussion on tumblr before, but censoring tags is not good b/c it makes using the fiiltering system harder. tags are there for a reason. if anything i just wouldnt tag the character or add some sort of "character negativity" tag er smthn.

Just saw a post saying that the best queer spaces are ones with a "cishet dude or two" hanging around.
Honestly it's okay if you don't feel this way. I've had multiple, sometimes very, very hurtful experiences of "straight allies" joining in drag shows, pride parades, etc., only to later "come out" as acephobes, transphobes, and misogynists. My former friend, a straight man who performed at drag shows, told me he didn't see why him drunkenly catcalling women after the shows was a problem. This came out of left field. One of my former best friends, a straight woman, went full rabid TERF after reading Rowling's essay in 2020 and harassed me for refusing to exclude my trans friends from queer spaces. The list goes on.
Yes, queer people can also do these things, but anecdotally (in my experience!), it's been straight "allies" who decide to take on the responsibility of defining what they deem to be "acceptable queerness" and then using their privilege to hijack queer spaces. Straight people still have privilege in queer spaces. It is okay to make spaces that don't include them.
Even if allies are not using their privilege to be awful, there can still be a really uncomfortable feeling when everyone plays what I call "pet the straight," which is when the straight person in the room receives significant praise just for being there ("you're a certified ally!" "we love that you wanted to join us!").
I have experienced what's going on below multiple times, from people I've known for years and trusted:
(hiding it under a read more, but it's a picture showing former Economist editor Helen Joyce, a straight woman, holding up a pride flag that has had half its colors cut out, mostly because she hates trans people:)

The unfortunate duality of music is that everyone can vibe to a song if it comes on the radio; but if you intentionally show someone the same song, then you all pay attention to the lyrics and then suddenly everyone's sad
