Last big doodles of mine and so far just the last two. for now since I have more doodles I want to do, and honestly the top one above is my big favorite and gives some insights on my two FMA OCs Emmy and Emmet Rosenthal [my Rosenthal siblings]
I shall talk about the doodles as usual :3 starting the top one! ^
so the top one is going to be very important to my OC's, Emmy and Emmet Rosenthal, as well it'll be touched up more in my comics. while some FMA artists would probably question it and maybe say it "makes no sense" because of stuff, dude its world building. there's MANY FRICKEN PLACES...THAT HAVE YET TO BE DISCOVERED. ID IMAGINE THIS BE ONE OF THEM. Remember the brotherhood movie??? Yeah-  Anyways- So Emmys mothers ancestry is pretty unique and has been around for a good long amount of time, some would speculate their culture or their people, whichever which or both have been around possibly around when Xerxes been around until they vanished, but would also say it was a probably a very 'young' country like...there's not many people. until years gone by there's many. it was once a small kingdom and soon grew more and more over the years which it has. they rule under someone of royal blood - their rulers being the king, queens, prince, princess, etc. I am still thinking of a nice cool name for what their race is named, because i named them "Krazohens" but that's ME …. borrowing a name.....from a video game and just add more letters to make it sound "cool" but- ack...noooo. So i need to think of what the race ethnicity would be named so that needs some work. I would imagine they are people who use alchemy A. LOT. for defense, protection, and healing purposes. they even have schools for the young that wishes to use alchemy. they ban inhumane alchemic acts such as using live animals and such to create chimeras and .. use alchemy on people to create a human-weapon. and also bring those to life is a huge no no, forbidden. no surprise and no shock. So I'm still working with the world building on the culture and such of Emmy and Emmet's ancestry, from the mothers side of the family, but i do wanna at least explain a bit on what these two are doing in the doodle piece best i can? i had imagined that they go through special rituals and such when visiting their ancestral homes around the times of the festival month and this happen the week they arrived [in the story ed and al tagged along and get to see the ritual being done]. Both Emmet and Emmy also get idk ranked? ish? by their knowledge and abilities i suppose?  Emmy was more seen as she who protects her people, and a healer who she comes to protect. Emmet was seen and has shown that is he who protects and defends his people, a heart of gold and steel that he will lay down his life to protect his people and his love ones. being his family he has left and his sister. Emmy was seen as an alchemist warrior but more towards a healer too, while Emmet is shown he's more of a warrior and a soldier then anything. Emmet can do alchemy but he is used to hand to hand combat. I'm still working with the world building on the ancestor part but i was enjoying a lot with it and this was my big favorite piece I've drawn (quq)

^^^^
this is a scene that'll happen in the comics for sure, and I don't give a flying flip what anyone says- but basically - its a scene where Ed and Emmy where still in Emmy's ancestral home and they stay there for a good 2-3 weeks, and they got the special honor to stay in the castle. they kept hearing noises and voices which was creeping Alphonse out and making Ed skeptic but also weary. Emmy being weary as well. of course here Emmy and Edward got into an argument of "there's no such things as ghost" and of course...Emmy stares at him pointing out about him dealing with shit that was suppose to be "impossible" to encounter let alone exist....
come on if we got paranormal actual documentation of demonic possessed fucking places and dolls in our world, I would imagine there be some IN THE FMA WORLD.. just not very common to figure that out but come on-
[hell Mei, ling, and Lanfan and Fuu had pointed out on the feelings of people swarming around beneath when they went to central or arrived so- i mean????? lets be real here] so yeah they go into investigate mode and figure out something deep in the castle and help recover something that puts everything to rest in the country that was...LONG overdue. which will get in touch with in future doodles or when the comic comes out.

COUCH TOUR: THANKSGIVING WEEK TRIOS AT SMALL’S AND MEZZROW’S, Part 2
TED ROSENTHAL with Noriko Ueda and Tim Horner, 26 NOVEMBER 2021
YES! TRIO (Aaron Goldberg, Omer Avital, and Ali Jackson Jr) 27 NOVEMBER 2021
This run started with the perhaps too ferocious Mike LeDonne/David Happy Williams/Joe Farnsworth gig on Wednesday and a quick grab back to Sunday of the elegant but subversive Alan Broadbent/Harvie S/Billy Mintz set. I knew these two were coming, plus a late Wednesday gig from Evan Sherman with the formidable Emmet Cohen and Russell Hall, but split the essay into two parts. Here’s part two.
The Yes! Trio is a working band with a book of compositions from each of them. The only standard was Autumn Nocturne, first performed by the Claude Thornhill’s Orchestra in 1941. As the only ballad in the set, they pulled off the gas, mostly. I found Aaron Goldberg and Omer Avital with Marc Miralta as the OAM Trio, including a set with Mark Turner, during my discovery of Avital. Unlike my memory of OAM trio, this band has Ali Jackson Jr’s rhythmic drive, angular with rimshots and tangents. I heard less of Avital than I would prefer between the limits of the Mezzrow’s stream and that I was not wearing my AirPods. He was energetic of course but I felt more than heard his contributions. But what I felt was less Mediterranean than with the Catalonian Miralta. Goldberg is vigorous and inventive, but it was Jackson who stood out, particularly with his compositions, the opening Groove du Jour and penultimate El Soul. It was not nearly as tiring as the LeDonne set, but it was more challenging than it turns out I wanted. But that’s the thing about challenging, isn’t it? I will seek out these musicians and this band.
Ted Rosenthal wasn’t challenging, but that doesn’t mean he was predictable. Still it was just comfortable to see what he would do with the Great American Songbook. He has Bill Charlap’s encyclopedic knowledge and that same aesthetic. Noriko Ueda (who plays with Charlap’s spouse Renee Rosnes in Artemis) was strong (and audible) throughout and Tim Horner was tasteful but not tame, but they were not Charlap’s collaborators Peter Washington and Kenny Washington. But who is? That may well be the consummate piano trio.
The backside of the set starting with the sole original, Just for Kicks. It has a lilting theme and Horner did some subtle hand drumming in there. That led to Billy Strayhorn’s Chelsea Bridge which has nice intricacies and shadings. They closed with Tom McIntosh’s always appealing The Cupbearers which Ueda explored all over the neck of her bass. Rosenthal has a full background in the European Tradition, so they included an arrangement of a theme from the rondo of Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata. I can see why he played around with it (Beethoven poses fascinating puzzles), but though it swung it didn’t open up the way some of the jazz interpretations of Satie and Debussy do. A straight reading of the movement might, in its own way, been more interesting. But People Might Say We’re In Love, Skylark, and Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off were sufficiently compelling.
Once again, I opted for the more restrained and even conventional option in my pairings—Broadbent over LeDonne, Rosenthal over Yes! That as much reflects the moment, but it is an observation I make about myself. I wonder how Emmet Cohen would have fared in the mix as he plays powerfully but is steeped in the traditon. Well, he’ll be in the Small’s Archive soon enough, so I’ll check.

Did these doodles last month and even streamed it onto my twitch- Forgot to share these doodles whoops- but I plan to do more doodles and also work on my comic pages as well which the story needs to be written out more. its in the works! i'll explain about these sketches of mine! qvq)/

^^
Was practicing poses and drew Emmy even a back/side shot of her. Honestly her look i was originally giving her with her hair being braided downwards was suppose to be for the FMA 2005 conqueror of shamballa timeline, but it- the hairstyle grew on me- q-q what can i say i like long hair and i also like braids XD

^^
FINALLY DREW...MY BOY...emmys older brother!! Also showing the height difference too!! yeah hes a tall man for sure. For those who probably dont even know who Emmet is [my fma OC] he is Emmy older brother who lost his limbs when he was about 6-7 years old from a accident/robbery that happened on the train he was on that he got hit from. luckily only serious injuries was his limbs, minor ones being a few burns from the blast but nothing else was serious. only critical condition he was in was injuries to his legs and arms, as one of his arms and legs circulation was damaged and they had to amputate, they tried saving the other arm and leg but they couldnt. So emmets legs and arms are fully automailed. which he doesn't mind very much. Emmy only has her automail arm on her left arm. Also can guess from this scene was emmy probably having a lil brag moment or such and her brother is just- like "what the heck are you doing?".
Tumblr media
^^
This being a scene around the timeline where they are at Briggs, around the time Ed and Al where put in a cell due to Oliva Armstrong not trusting them on what they've told her and such. which can you really blame her? especially since she is VERY STRICT and make sure EVERYTHING is secured and make sure there's no spies and enemies in her fort. So in my story Emmy also gets caught in put in a cell, getting the chains too so she cant do alchemy along Ed and Alphonse too. I would guess this is also a scene before Winry came over, and Ed and Emmy had a bit of a bickering fight because Ed had to admit to tell her she and Winry are targeted to be dispose of if Ed and Alphonse try anything to disrupt the homunculi's plan. [Emmy had notice Edward acting off and she was getting worried but also just slightly irritated, but mostly worried in the case and bugged Edward enough why he's acting weird until he finally tells her]. Emmy of course wasn't happy she's being targeted but also Winry too, and of course Ed felt he had to tell Winry somehow but wonders if he even should, which of course Emmy told him that he has to so Winry is aware she's involved... so she at least understands if Ed has to do anything that seem way out of character, that be reason why. even though Emmy knows Edward would try his best not to do something stupid. So where does this lil flustered selves of these two happen? well- after that conversation and such some things were said which led to the two of them just- suddenly got very flustered and they looked away right away. possibly the two may have feelings for each other but has no skills in admitting it. Alphonse does notice the two being flustered with one another that time and has a sneaking suspicion his brother and his friend got a crush on each other. which Alphonse kindly teases Ed for <u<
🌸🍡---------------------------------------------------------🍡🌸
I'll post more of the doodles up! Look out for them as they'll be posted pretty quickly! ^u^)/ Also will be reposted to my FMA Focused Tumblr blog @edwardxemmy ask blog of mine!

Artwork and character Emmy Rosenthal is owned by @awoken-artist Fullmetal Alchemist and Edward Elric is owned by Hiromu Arakawa Please don't resubmit/repost my works without my permission! thanks! ------------------------------------------- WOWIE. been forever since I have drawn these two. or any FMA related content. pfffft. I was bored and was listening to FMA brotherhood because....the 2003 series isnt up on hulu and i dont have access to Netflix and I don’t know if its even on there so. poop. anyhow! So i'll try to explain each of the doodles here ;w; cause im sure some are wondering whats going on. top row starting left to right: 1: This is around the time Emmy had to get open heart surgery. I know many would argue "but its fricken around 1914 they haven't done it yet!!", i would think that such a procedure is not very common but also...would think in this universe its still a very risk but something that needed to be done. Emmy of course had to go there in a emergency after she collapsed. They manage to do the surgery she needed and was lucky that they were able to pull it off. of course this lead to that Emmy got sick afterwards in the hospital but they checked and everything is turning up normal, so they say it may be just a common cold. which is was. Emmy isn't digging it. shes already groggy and exhausted from being knocked out in surgery. Ed and Al didn't leave and would check in on her even have visitors coming in. 2: not sure where in the timeline but thinking they be around 16-17 and their relationship with each other started getting stronger with one another where they felt comfortable being this close, but it does give off the hint they liked each other more then just friends and would think there be stuff like this were it shows that they liked each other more then friends but hesitant about it or stuff interrupts them. luckily this one they didn't have anyone to disturb them. maybe lead to the 3erd drawing next oh my- XP frisky much you two? they didn't get far though xux bottom row: 1: this was around when Emmy and Edward first met and are teasing each other in a not so good way. calling Edward short and midget while Edward keeps saying kid and girly to her. sometimes teases her height too. They didn't get along much, but they end up tolerating each other. 2: simple doodle of Emmy, probably Edwards up to something and wonders wtf hes doing 3: HAHA- YEA UH HAVENT DRAWN EMMY’S BIG BRO IN A LONG WHILE. OH BOY. Yeah this is when Emmet does see the two not getting along too well at times and would tell his sister to be nice many times, but Emmy isn't going with it cause sometimes Edward starts shit but Emmy does it too. COUCH TOUR: THANKSGIVING WEEK TRIOS AT SMALL’S AND MEZZROW’S, Part 1
ALAN BROADBENT with Harvie S and Billy Mintz, 21 NOVEMBER 2021
MIKE LEDONNE with David Happy Williams and Joe Farnsworth, 24 NOVEMBER 2021
I had given thought to doing one big essay and including Ted Rosenthal (with Noriko Ueda) on Friday and Aaron Goldberg (with Omer Avital) on Saturday, but I feel like writing a bit now and fear that I would lose some of the detail of this most versatile and appealing jazz ensemble.
For this installment, these are players I’ve seen frequently. I wrote about a Mike LeDonne/Happy Williams gig with Evan Sherman just two weeks before (and coupled with a quartet date with Eric Alexander and Joe Farnsworth from the month before). I was Alan Broadbent with his working band too this season.
I won’t much extend my general observations all that much, but I learn a bit about myself as a listener and the music in general each time. Plus there’s great variation in the form.
Broadbent, for example, is subversively elegant. He comes off as mannered and not flashy. Throw in that Billy Mintz is so spare in his drumming; only Harvie S comes off as restlessly inventive. But there’s so much going on; it surprises and delights. They started with Au Privave and also did My Little Suede Shoes, both with bebop conventions as a seasoning, not the meal. I approve of thinking about Charlie Parker as a composer with tunes to explore. They don’t roar but they explore gently but insistently to reveal the tunes and their possibilities. My Foolish Heart had a different elegance that built on Bill Evans’s, but what a tune and evocation. As last time, they took up Hank Mobley’s This I Dig of You which I hope to begin to recognize on its own terms and as a reminder to know his work better. I like Harvie S’s boxy tone and the space he occupies between his band mates, but Mintz’s minimalist drumming is remarkable in how much he accomplishes. I want to see more of this working band.
LeDonne was just right for last night when I needed an energy infusion. He is a relentlessly powerful player who let off the gas slightly on the closing ballad (they probably had another tune planned, but tellingly extended each of their five tunes), but it was still quite ornate. They opened with Cedar Walton’s Newest Blues and Williams was with Walton for decades even as he and LeDonne seem to come as a unit. Bass is too often lost in the Small’s mix but Williams does dance the beat around as an accompanist and solos with grace. I have come fully around in my appreciation of Joe Farnsworth who is so professional, able to hold his own with LeDonne’s power while amusing himself and us with clever and varied inflections all around the kit.
If I needed LeDonne’s power last night, I will more selectively. He announced McCoy Tyner’s The Greeting after the fact, but I had a “Tyneresque” note to myself. They followed that with In a Sentimental Mood which is of course a great launching pad, but I wished he’d let it breathe in its own right. There and throughout he was remarkably all over the keyboard with runs and chords. He is full of ideas and energy, but he can get too busy.
I’ve only heard Rosenthal from one gig but he will be a contrasting flavor in this wonderful stew. So will Aaron Goldberg whom I’ve seen with Joshua Redman but that he is with Omer Avital with whom he’s also worked is something to look forward to.
This week also had Evan Sherman in a Tuesday late night gig with Emmet Cohen and Russell Hall. I’ll look for that (and Sean Mason/Giveton Gelin from late Wednesday) in the Archives. Cohen too has energy and ornamentation, but I don’t remember him as tiring as I fear I found LeDonne this time, much as I needed the caffeine like jolt.
But there’s so much of this wonderful stuff to discover and enjoy.
