The fact The Last of Us got multiple acting nominations at the Emmys and House of the Dragon got NONE is actually criminal.
Like how can you nominate House of the Dragon for Best Drama and not give it a single acting nomination when I'm sorry but Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy and Paddy Considine were some of the best acting I've seen in television this year.

also y'all REALLY need to get off everyone's back who's sharing The Image tbh like it's not like this was an illegal leak posted by a fan AMAZON THEMSELVES GAVE US THIS. how the heck were fans supposed to know neilman didn't want that particular bit spoiled. they gave it to us in official promotional material for their service all fans are doing is reacting to it its literally not our fault. like ok don't share the image if you dont want to but it's not like theres any legal ramifications here we need to be wary of. its just an unfortunate misunderstanding between neil and amazon we are literally not culpable at all here. anyways happy ****** **** day to all who celebrate <3

I wasn’t going to say anything, and I still don’t want to. But seeing the rampant discourse freely shitting on Succession by people who admit to not having even watched it, and some actually equating liking the show to being racist/complicit in some Hollywood conspiracy, has tipped me over the edge.
You can love and support Pedro and TLOU without bringing another show down.

A K/A defense against zutara in TSR that I keep coming across is the argument that Zuko "didn't really ask Katara for forgiveness", and although that's clearly bullshit disproved by literally everything canon in that episode, there's often an undertone arguing that the narrative tying Katara's trauma with her mother to her feelings about Zuko discounts everything he did for her in TSR. And although it can be argued that Zuko's clear remorse for his actions discounts this argument, which is a stance that I myself would probably take in any hypothetical debate on the topic, I do think its worth exploring why else this take is shitty.
Katara's trauma is explicitly tied to her mother's death, I don't think that's news to anyone, and she has abandonment issues from both her mother dying suddenly and her father leaving to go fight in the war slightly after. Although this is clearly neither parent's fault, it is worth examining how her trauma and more specifically her abandonment issues later affected her relationships with other characters, and most continuously, Zuko. For me, it seems incredibly obvious that their time in the Ba Sing Se caves together, although formed through an incredibly tenuous connection, undoubtedly excited her feelings of abandonment. This is why those feelings are very clearly examined in the episode just after, when Katara reconnects with her father for the first time in three years (coincidentally at the same time that Zuko does, which is another parallel between the two others have pointed out) and why Zuko's betrayal is shown to have affected her so personally. Not only was she the only one to connect with him, that connection was incredibly personal and therefore left her feeling incredibly betrayed. Katara's character background alone, which also happens to be heavily addressed in this episode, is enough for the narrative to be justified in connecting Zuko's betrayal back to her mother's death. Subconsciously, her mind was probably doing something along the lines of Zuko = Fire Nation + crystal caves = abandonment. Conveniently, this take also chooses, as most K/A takes do, to discount the fact that Katara canonically forgave Zuko.
I hope this makes sense, and this is not in response to anything any particular K/A shipper posted, it's just a trend in the fandom I wanted to try my hand at debunking. That being said, as with most things, I know it's not going to change any K/As minds, so I hope at least my little babble is entertaining to the zutarians out there. (K/A shippers DNI)

I saw that post and it made me so mad! Jamie was a prick in S1, but Roy was also a prick, the show just sided with him more! I'm not forgiving Jamie's behaviour in S1, but honestly, watching it back he comes across as like an arrogant mean teenager, making himself feel big by taking others down. And thats bad, don't get me wrong. But then you've got a man in his mid 30s, threatening his team with violence constantly, letting himself get riled up to the point of trying to fight a 20 something, and physically attacking a team mate to the point said team mate got a concussion. But thats fine for those people apparently? I love Jamie's arc and its partly due to the fact that he and Rebecca are the only two who were actually ever held accountable for their actions
I'm saying, like!! this show overall has a pretty good track record with ~redemption arcs~ and it's because these characters are at their core good people. They are good people who have made bad decisions or a series of bad decision because of circumstances and struggles in their own lives. Now, of course that's no excuse for their bad actions, and i would never defend those actions, but there's a difference between excusing and explaining! and the show explicitly offers explanations for Jamie's behavior (as well as the others) that show they can be corrected and that do not in any way make the characters irredeemable.
this person in particular was also being flat out ridiculous because they were trying to argue that Jamie only ever got a redemption arc because viewers ended up loving Jamie. Like, first of all Jamie's redemption arc STARTS IN SEASON ONE, which automatically means it wasn't a product of fan response, lmao. Secondly I can tell them as someone who was around during season 2, Jamie was not nearly as widely beloved or as much a fan favorite until the third season. Hell, I know many people who say they didn't care about Jamie at all until Man City! So no, the writers didn't redeem Jamie because "fans are obsessed with Phil" or "because he's pretty." Just, ew.
anyway, the whole point of the show is that we can all learn to be better for and because of the people and community around us. Jamie & Rebecca are able to course correct and change very quickly once the first domino falls because they aren't bad people who need to change fundamentally. They are good people who just need others around who actually believe in them and see the good in them. They just need nudging back onto the right path.
Which is all to say that Jamie doesn't deserve redemption is to misunderstand the entire show I'm so serious. like i don't think that person actually likes Ted Lasso, because.

I will admit that shaming Succession was a knee-jerk reaction because I was so hopeful that Pedro would be awarded, but thank you for calling us out! We need to remember to be kind. And Pedro wouldn’t want us shaming Succession.
Thank you for admitting to that. I get that emotions are running high and it’s easy to get caught up when you’re in an echo chamber like this fandom where everyone has been getting up on their soapbox.
As someone who’s actually watched both Succession and TLOU and being the biggest Pedro girlie, I think Succession deserves all of its wins. And even if you don’t, it doesn’t deserve the hate that some people have been gleefully sprouting.

is there anything you dislike about the demon slayer Fandom
Space anon
Oh yeah definitely lol, but nothing really exclusive to this fandom specifically. Mostly that I don’t like the over sexualization of the characters, the inappropriate shipping and the way characters often get reduced to a single characteristic (ex. Giyuu being depressed, Shinobu being mean)
I would like to say though that the last thing I listed isn’t that big of a deal to me. It does kind of bother me that Giyuu gets reduced to being a sad boy, but I also feel like it’s not my place to get mad when someone isn’t as invested in a character as I am, if that makes sense? Like, I love this series and I’m obsessed with knowing the characters inside and out, but I can’t ask that of a casual viewer who wants to draw a character or try their hand at a fanfic without getting into the deep background or characterization. I feel like that limits who can interact with the fandom, and asks a lot out of people who don’t care nearly as much as I do but still want to enjoy demon slayer. I do wish there were more fics and fan art with the canon characterization, but I don’t like to bitch about it too much because I think that’s asking too much of people.
Plus, if I want to see that kind of content in the fandom, I’ll just make it myself, so it’s not that bad to me.
