i’m not one to judge people on what they like (i’m lying out my ass rn) but that mitsuriwritessmut chick needs to be fucking checked.
ONE they posted some nsfw art of yuuji n sukuna praising it. they are canonically family and yuuji is a minor.
TWO they made p links for yuuta who isn’t canonically 18 yet
THREE made r*pe p links…the fuck is wrong with you? take your weird ass somewhere. y’all are fucking sick. i’m ashamed to even be a fan off jjk at this point

I should probably just avoid fandom discourse altogether but the mischaracterization of Toshiro is really starting to get to me (and this isn't a case of "my poor precious blorbo I'm the only one who understands you" because tbh I don't think he's in the top five of my dunmeshi faves)
The main issue comes from his relationships with Falin and with Laios. "He loves Falin for everything he hates Laios for." No, wrong. Does he maybe romanticize Falin a bit as a manic pixie girl with a refreshingly original personality and interests? Sure, yeah, but the thing is, he doesn't hate Laios for his monster special interest.
One thing Laios and Falin don't have in common is their way of expressing themselves. While Laios is very outspoken and talkative, Falin tends to be more quiet and reserved. Just think about the flashback to magic school when she first met Marcille. If that had been Laios, he would've also been the kid who shows up late covered in dirt from chasing grasshoppers, but he wouldn't have kept to himself like Falin did until Marcille approached her. He would've gone around the room saying, "Hi, I'm Laios, let me tell you about my project and why it's weird."
That's why Toshiro is upset/annoyed/envious around Laios ("hate" is the wrong word to describe their relationship methinks). He finds him abrasive and insistent and blind to the hints that maybe he should shut the fuck up for a second please.

"saying smooth brained is still offensive cus you clearly mean the R word" no, if I meant the R word I would just say it, there's no magical barrier preventing me from doing so. what I meant to do is insult your intelligence in a slightly funny way, smooth brain is a very unserious word.
stop labeling everything as equivalent to a slur, because if saying smooth brain is the same as saying the R word then it must not be that serious right?

Obviously some people will find any excuse to hate a ship, and can't get it in their head that sometimes it's better to just ignore stuff than to say anything. But the way they justify their hatred often reeks of barely veiled homophobia. I've seen so many people complain in Youtube comments on Sonadow videos that "Shadow is literally 50 years old omg". And I have to wonder why I don't see so much hate for, for example, any ship with Aang in ATLA. Because if we do count years in cryostasis, then that boy is also over a 100 years old. And I haven't seen nearly as much vitriol with other Shadow-centric ships, either (though that might be a matter of popularity).
It's just people trying to morally justify disliking something. You are allowed to dislike something and also to have no moral reason for it!

irvinis replied to your post “Thinking about the photo from tonight, i almost…”
@ingravinoveritas this may be fanon (canon created by fans), but it fits so well into the daddy/boy dynamic. Michael comes to David's performances with his doors wide open, wearing his best sweater (or baring his arms) and giving a standing ovation: THIS IS MY BOY! And David makes his way to Michael’s performances, wrapped in a scarf up to his eyebrows and sighs quietly in delight from an inconspicuous place in the corner.
@irvinis Ohh...this is tickling a very specific part of my brain. Oh, I love this. In the past I didn't usually go for the daddy/boy dynamic with Michael and David (because I've always seen their relationship as one of equals/switches), but this absolutely fits them like a freaking glove.
We have the picture Georgia posted of David all wrapped up exactly like that, so right away that gives us a visual:
Tumblr media
And what you've described goes perfectly with what we saw when Michael went to see Macbeth in December--that white-bright moment of Michael gazing up at David from the audience, and David looking right back at him, captured forever on film and in our hearts. That, in contrast with last night, with David quietly going to the show and doing everything to keep the focus on Michael. David waiting until the lights have dimmed and all eyes are on the stage to let out that little sigh, feeling a shiver of unrestrained happiness work its way through his body as he watches, enraptured, as Michael does the thing he does best.
It's also interesting how this potentially ties into Michael not doing the matinee today. I know we could say it's because he's still recovering from being sick (and that would certainly make sense), but I love the thought that Michael sat out so many performances earlier in the week to make sure he had his strength specifically for last night's performance, because he knew David was coming and wanted to do a good job for him.
I could also see David going to Michael's dressing room after (with thanks to @greeneyed-thestral for planting the seed of that lovely idea) and seeing Michael all enthralled with a post-show high from performing, yet still anxious about how things went--worrying if he was on key for the musical number, if he missed any cues. I can see David slowly backing Michael into the mirror without a word, until the lights frame Michael like a halo. He takes off his ball cap and unravels his scarf in an elegant heap on the dresser, revealing himself, both of them now bare and vulnerable. David grasps either side of Michael's face in his hands, thumb tracing over the crow's feet at the side of Michael's eyes, and smiles softly. He kisses Michael, mouths opening just slightly as the kiss deepens and their tongues meet. Kisses him long enough to quiet Michael's mind, to get the overthinking voice inside to stop.
He is quiet, this David. Always making himself smaller to fit in rooms within rooms, hiding away, keeping the peace. Until Michael. Michael, who somehow had the key to every door. Something in David expands, becomes louder, growing to more than his slender frame could seem to handle, and he pours it into that kiss. A mark of this moment, of Michael bathed in light, of the two of them together and David silently saying, we are here. We are together and I am going to take care of you now.
Oh, yes...I could certainly see that happening. Thank you so much for this delicious prompt on a Saturday morning...

Their dialogue matches 🥺
More proof that Isagi being there to catch Bachira's kick at the end of second selection was meant to parallel their first meeting, except this time it's him believing in Bachira instead of the other way around.

It’s so weird to me to see modern ZADR fans who are no older than like 15 whining about shipping. Like, hate to burst your bubble, but the vast majority of people don’t care about “proship” or whatever the fuck. It’s not a real issue (your personal disgust and trauma doesn’t mean that content isn’t allowed to exist) and I’m tired of people hyper focusing on it like it is.
Your feelings towards taboo or “disgusting” art are completely valid, but you have no right to treat people poorly or dish out abusive behavior over it. You certainly have no right to tell those people you wished they died, either.
It’s not the “proshippers” who ruin a fandom, it’s the fandom newbies who are obsessed with purity culture and fake progressive ideas that spread hate and abuse without hesitation.
Stop trying to tell yourself that it’s okay to be bigots and abusive towards the “right people” for the “right reasons”. You make fandom spaces, places that are meant to be fun and chill, highly stressful. Nobody should have to constantly walk on eggshells because you can’t control your temper.
No, I don’t deserve to die. No, I don’t deserve to be harassed. No, I don’t deserve threats. No, I don’t deserve abuse.
Break out of these abusive behaviors, stop bullying and harassing (abusing) people over things that don’t matter or exist. Sincerely, I hope the teens that think this way grow out of that shit. You’re better than this.
I’m not a “proshipper” as I don’t subscribe to such terminally online bullshit, but since you terminally online netizens will call me that anyway, let me break down “proship”.
The word “pro” means you are for something, like being Pro-abortion means you’re for abortion rights. Proshipping just means you believe ships have a right to exist regardless of your own feelings.
Ship and let ship. That was the norm not even a decade ago. Let’s bring back that norm instead of making abuse the new norm.

I don't know if this is related to antis or not but I hate it when people think if somone animates or writes something gross like inc3st or z00phil4 for example, that means they're okay with it or are a z00phil3 themselves. I guess the South Park creators are p3dos then.
Yeah! This is something Antis do a lot. They tend to relate fictional content A LOT with their creator, which is something I (as an Arts student) have even been taught myself in school. Everything you create has to reflect, or is going to reflect, who or what you are as a person. And it's so dumb!
I honestly don't get why this is a thing? If people were to police everything in fiction to make it "healthy" or "realistic", we'd literally have nothing. Either that or it'd be boring as fuck.
A video I watched on YouTube once described this as "anime ignorance", tho it could be "media ignorance" in general. Which means, we all want to be a little bit ignorant sometimes when consuming media.
We know violence doesn't solve any conflict, but when we're watching actions movies, we love seeing the good guys beating the bad guys up because to us, it's therapeutic. We love characters being imperfect and sometimes fuck things up bad, because then they overcome that ignorance and become better people. Erasing that from fiction means erasing all that makes it compelling.

fandom still has no idea how to reconcile female characters so they make marcille their mean lesbian who hates laios, as if her character isn't driven by love and trauma by the thought of the touden siblings dying before her

it is really annoying how the pro- vs anti-ship debate was originally about harassment but it's just completely devolved into Likes X Thing vs Dislikes X Thing with x thing being whatever hot button topic they're on about today (it changes weekly)

Regarding Stop Cop City, I agree it’s a pretty small-fry project that seems somewhat illogical to be devoting so much energy and militancy to. But on the other hand, there have been city protest movements devoted to saving a single tree before and I don’t think they were necessarily worthless. Even if it’s a small patch of forest, we need to save every tree we can.
And the point of making a big ruckus about one relatively small project is it raises the costs and makes authorities think twice about all their other similar small projects.
And finally I also think there’s just the fact that in the absence of a large left-wing party or organizational infrastructure, there’s not really any central decisionmaker deciding on which things to campaign against. Which things explode into a bigger issue is fairly random and arbitrary.
Similarly, as people have pointed out: the incidents of police brutality that provoke huge protests are not always the most egregious incidents. There have been a few even more horrific acts than what happened to George Floyd or Eric Garner (which to be clear were already extremely horrific), some even caught on video, that did not get as much attention and did not incite as much unrest. There’s no “line” that gets crossed that people just can’t take anymore. It’s random and unpredictable.
So I think Stop Cop City is not completely misguided though I do think it’s not strategically the most productive effort or the most urgent problem.
(But I could be wrong. And anyone attacking you over your opinion on this is a stupid fuck).
Even if it’s a small patch of forest, we need to save every tree we can. And the point of making a big ruckus about one relatively small project is it raises the costs and makes authorities think twice about all their other similar small projects.
I think I tend to disagree on both these points - I am against deforestation writ large but I think there are plenty of times when I am okay with developing small forests for human use, though a training site for cops and firefighters is pretty meh as use cases go. I also am not sure if it really provides much benefit to force authorities to reconsider this kind of project.
I would not necessarily say I am against the cop city protestors in any meaningful way. Cops suck, fuck em, whatever. What I am strongly against is the lionization of picking your battles poorly on the left.
To my eyes the comparison to the George Floyd protests feels a little off - that struck me as a much more mass movement, whereas this feels more like a small group of highly dedicated protestors. I also think the central issue there was much more important, though to wrap back around, what happened to Tortuguita (the protestor that got killed by the cops, likely while sitting down with their hands up) seems far more egregious than the construction project.
I am kind of a crank about this kind of thing, but it raises my hackles when people treat protest or "resistance" or militancy as ends unto themselves. I think the causes we fight for and the ends we achieve matter immensely, and I don't think stopping cop city matters that much, so it bugs me to hear people talk about it in the same breath as the 2020 protests or the current ones for Gaza.

yall have got to be more normal about Southern people and I'm not kidding. enough of the Sweet Home Alabama incest jokes, enough of the idea that all Southerners are bigots and rednecks, and enough of the idea that the South has bad food. shut up about "trailer trash" and our accents and our hobbies!
do yall know how fucking nauseating it is to hear people only bring up my state to make jokes about people in poverty and incestuous relationships? how much shame I feel that I wasn't born up north like the Good Queers and Good Leftists with all the Civilised Folk with actual houses instead of small cramped trailers that have paper thin walls that I know won't protect me in a bad enough storm?
do yall know how frustrating it is to be trans in a place that wants to kill you and whenever you bring it up to people they say "well just move out" instead of sympathizing with you or offering help?
do yall understand how alienating it is to see huge masterposts of queer and mental health resources but none of them are in your state because theyre all up north? and nobody seems to want to fix this glaring issue because "they're all hicks anyways"
Southern people deserve better. we deserve to be taken seriously and given a voice in the queer community and the mental health space and leftist talks in general.
