We could be heroes.
Jareth x reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Imagine making it out of the Labyrinth, for a while life goes well. Until you feel the need to reunite with the Gobin king.
Word count:1099
Warning: A little angst, then fluff.
Request for @chiefdirector sorry it’s so short! Xx
You hadn't meant to miss it, no you shouldn't have. Only months had went by since you had escaped the Goblin Kings grasp, along with who you had wished away , mistakenly.
It wasn't that you didn't feel anything for Jareth, it was just you had a family and life. You couldn't just leave them. Plus, how could you watch Ewan Mcgregor in Moulin rouge, or Lord of the rings or Star Wars. Oh no , how would you play Lego games on the Wii?
Sure if Jareth lived on earth or you could visit, but he made no effort to tell you anything, other than you can live with me forever and he'd be your slave. When it felt like you'd be the only that was slave. You did not want to be trapped in a place you didn't know.
Jareth did not want you to go, the sparkle in his mismatched eyes, almost like they they were watering. You had defeated him fair and square. You felt guilty, yes he had the goblins but he didn't have anyone else. Especially when the goblins aren't exactly the best to talk to.
Once you had returned home everything was great for a while; after that life started to get more difficult and cruel. You had began talking walks often, even if it was once week walking the dog. An Owl, much like the one Jareth had turned into, you'd see every single time. The same beige and cream owl.
After a couple of weeks you'd see him in other places, in your garden from your room, on your way to college/work, in the rain everywhere except indoor. In honesty you liked it, you felt safe, like someone was watching you and keeping you safe. You just didn't know that was exactly what he was doing.
You had not seen Jareth in months, after a particularly rough day, coming home an empty,  you found yourself calling for him. Sitting upon the stone out the back door, the chill of the air pricking your skin, Your head in your hands.
"I wish you were here, Jareth, right now." Nothing, no glitter, it didn't work. You weren't going to wish someone away again, you couldn't wish yourself , right?
The warm of hand gently placed against your shoulder snapped you from your thoughts, looking toward the body sat next to you. Jareth. His hair was not the same mullet as you had last since him with, now replaced with shoulder length reddish orange hair, no poof, a chunk of blond in his fringe. His pupils still mismatched surrounded with blue, his outfit the same glittery coat, tight pants.
Your eyes locking on to his, his face frowning sadly at your form, as your threw yourself into his arms. His arms wrapped around your shoulders protecting you from the cold air, your face pushed against his chest.
"I missed you."
"I know."
What felt like minutes being in Jareth's hold was really hours.  Engulfed in his smell, he smelt like you weren't sure, if you was to meet David Bowie that's what he would smell like.
His eyes upon your face, his hand upon your hand, his lips caress your skin. The soft touch of Jareth's lips against your forehead, as he stroked your hair, running his fingers through it.
'It's more than I can stand
Why does my heart cry?Feelings I can't fight.’
The thoughts running your head like a river, the man that had plagued your mind for months appeared by your side within seconds, you were pretty sure he lived quite far away. But those around you , did not. How were you supposed to feel.
“You're free to leave me, but just don't deceive me. Please, believe me when I say I love you.” For a king Jareth was not good with surprises, his heart had stopped, did he hear you right? Faes don’t age maybe something was wrong with him and only his eardrums aged.
“P-pardon? Y-you love m-me?” Stuttering on pretty much all his words , as he whispered in disbelief looking into your tired eyes for some sign of a answer. That nod of your head made his heart pound like a washing machine, his mouth gapped open.
Not once had anyone from his Labyrinth taken any interest in him.Not for a long , long , time had he felt loving affection from someone. Cupping your cheek with his left hand, his thumb , gently travelling over your cheek softly. His bright eyes staring into your e/c ones, thighs touching, as both your upper bodies were turned to face each other clearly.
“I love you too, even if you do not want to stay with me, I will forever be with you, Y/n.” The soft tone of his voice caused your heart to swell, a blush upon your cheeks. The goblin king was no monster, his words were gently kind, he never wanted who you sent away. It was never about them, it was about you. 13 hours not for you to get to the castle for him to win over your heart.
“But I do want to,Jareth.”
“May I kiss you?”
“Yes.” His lips were upon yours, a small peck of his soft lips , before your eyes opened again to look within his. Standing he offered you his hand, the moon like lighting up the features of his face. This frame outlined onto his shadow on the ground behind him.
“Come with me, I offer you my heart, I promise to bring you back if you no longer feel for me.” Taking the soft hand of the Goblin king he pulled you up carefully, into his chest before wrapping you within his cloak.
A small note to your love ones, that you had simply moved away for a new job, so there wasn’t a missing persons case on you.
In a place which you had no worries or stress, you lived, with the freedom to come home if you wanted. A Crystal gifted to you enabling you to see your family, you were happy. You just didn’t know how happy Jareth felt, he no longer kidnapped children only those that were in need of a new home, still being turned into Goblins.
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen.

FIRE ON TATOOINE
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Five years into Obi-Wan Kenobi's exile on Tatooine the Jedi knows he has become reclusive and lonely. A brief encounter with a lovely yet mysterious stranger dredges up old memories, both pleasant and painful, leading Kenobi to find comfort in unexpected places. Perhaps the Force has been watching out for him after all.
She opened her eyes and took in his features; the handsome sharp brow line, the broad nose, the soft eyelashes. He was a little weathered, a little crinkled from the sun, and his hair was uncharacteristically unkempt due to the constant high desert winds, but she thought the look suited him.
A special gift for @enchantedflameandflower for providing me with the audio of Ewan McGregor and Tom Hiddleston in Othello. Bless you, friend, for your kindness and for bringing us Ewan fans closer together :)
Here's a little fluffy fic for you. I hope you all enjoy!

--------------------
It had been a long time since Obi-Wan Kenobi shared a room with another person much less a woman. Five years of exile had taught him a great deal about self-sufficiency; he unwillingly learned about deafening silence and the risk of being alone with his thoughts for too long. He understood the personalized torment of isolation and the snares in his subconscious; he had nightmares and carried on conversations with himself.
Sharing his space with another walking, talking human being made Kenobi starkly aware that he had become… odd.
As he watched the sleeping woman, stretched out on her back, an arm draped over her eyes as she snored, he realized he was jealous of her uninhibited manners. She didn’t seem to care that he was strange, and she didn’t apologize for being her natural self, so why should he?
Though he wouldn’t have minded an apology for the unfathomably loud snoring.
The truth was, Kenobi didn’t really mind that he communed with banthas or had no friends or rarely slept. The nightmares were what worried him. What if he cried out or confessed something or woke sobbing? No one could ever be allowed to see him that way. Ever. Especially not this unexpected houseguest.
No matter what the Force wanted from him, no matter how obvious it was that the Force had purposefully placed another human directly in his orbit, this time Obi-Wan Kenobi was not getting involved.
He’d had enough.
He wondered, not for the first time, how he had gotten himself into this mess.
--------------------
Kenobi had been in the market three days ago, minding his own business while he searched for power couplings and converters in a scrap shop when two creatures crashed through the door, sprawling across the floor in a violent flare of arms and legs. The shopkeeper and Kenobi watched while the two, a Rodian and a human, rolled back and forth, screaming and punching like wild animals.
In truth, Obi-Wan had seen better-behaved wild animals.
When the brawlers rolled into a teetering scrap pile, bringing the entire heap down with an earsplitting clatter, the shopkeeper could stand it no longer and he ran off to find the authorities. Deciding it was best to leave, Obi-Wan backed toward the door, dropping his credits on the counter as he tucked his power converters into his tattered cloak. Just then the two creatures immerged from the rubble, and as the Rodian clumsily drew a blaster, the human reached out and summoned the weapon out of the alien’s hand. The human quickly stepped forward and smacked the Rodian over the head, knocking him unconscious.
Obi-Wan stood frozen in place with wide eyes. Was he losing his mind or had this human just used the Force? Perhaps I just saw what I wanted to see.
Now that the scuffle was over Kenobi finally took in the details. The human was a female of moderate height; she wore form-fitting trousers with a heavy utility belt, battered combat boots, and a worn leather jacket. Her head was wrapped in a scarf for protection against the brutal binary suns, large goggles hung around her neck for the same purpose, and she had a blaster strapped to her right hip.
Slowly, she turned toward him, her shoulders heaving as she fought to catch her breath. The Force was practically vibrating around her. Kenobi sensed she was injured before he saw the bloodstains on her shirt and pants. For a moment, they stood transfixed, each staring at the other in disbelief. She was fair, her hair almost white beneath her cowl, and her heavy-lidded blue eyes were encompassed by goggle-shaped tan marks. The Jedi couldn’t remember the last time he had seen anything so lovely; on Tatooine the people were as brutal as the environment.
She took a step toward him but doubled over, the wound in her abdomen getting the better of her. She pressed a hand to the bleeding. That’s when her legs buckled.
Kenobi caught her just in time, gently easing her to the ground as he cradled her in his arms. She stared up at him, her strength faltering, when recognition suddenly brightened her eyes. She touched his cheek with trembling, bloody fingers. “Obi-Wan?”
Before she could say anymore her eyes rolled back as her head fell listlessly to the side.
For the first time in a long time Kenobi didn’t know what to do. This woman seemed to know him but he did not recognize her. She was badly wounded and needed care but he had no knowledge about who she was, why she was here, or why she had been brawling with the Rodian.
In the end, he did the only thing that would protect them both; he took her home with him.
--------------------
She could feel the room around her before she even opened her eyes. A gentle breeze played across her skin, cooling her flushed cheeks. She could smell leather and sunbaked stone, the arid earth and the dry air crackling against the snug hut that surrounded her. The door to the outside stood open, allowing the cooling dusk to alleviate the indoor heat. She could see pink and lavender sunlight streaking across paling desert sky as the binary suns made their descent.
Her jacket and belt hung from a peg on the wall and her boots were neatly arranged next to the small cot where she lay. She looked down at her aching body; her shirt, stiff with dry blood, had a large rent down the front. Pulling back the fabric she nearly fainted looking at the ghastly wound in her abdomen; it was healing but was tender and bruised. She gently brushed her fingers over the laceration.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
She violently started.
A man had appeared in the doorway, his features backlit against the setting suns. As he moved into the hut he fixed her with a piercing gaze. “Forgive me. I didn’t mean to startle you.”
She was struggling to remember how she’d come to be in this place, struggling to understand how it was possible that the man who stood before her was still alive. “I thought you were dead,” she croaked, her voice dry and brittle from lack of use.
His eyes sharpened and his brow arched severely. “Who are you?”
She weakly sat up. The cot where she lay was pushed against a wall, so she propped her back against the stone and looked up at the man she had once known.
“You’re just as handsome as I remember,” she said gently.
He flinched, almost imperceptibly, but she saw it. Reaching out through the Force she could sense that he did not believe he was handsome. In fact, he seemed altered in ways she had not expected; he looked like a slightly sun-bleached version of the famous Jedi she had known, but inside she sensed he was twisted with anxiety and heartbreak, tense like a spring ready to snap.
As their Force signatures touched he bristled and took a step away.
“You don’t remember me,” she said, a sad smile playing across her lips.
“Your eyes,” he said quietly, almost a whisper. “There is something…” He fell silent.
She did her best to put forth a soothing aura. “I have not come here to hurt you, Obi-Wan. I am not a threat.”
He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall opposite her. “How did you find me?”
“I wasn’t looking for you.”
“Really?” he said skeptically.
Her tone became firmer. “As I said before, I thought you were dead. The holonet claimed you were a casualty of Order 66.”
His jaw tightened. “And I’m to believe that you’re not working for the Empire? That you just happened upon me by mere coincidence?”
Her mouth fell open in disbelief. “An Empirical agent? Me?”
“What makes you so beyond suspicion?”
Anger was building in her. She tried to push herself up but winced and immediately fell back. “How dare you!” she managed to choke out. “The Empire killed my mother. Why would I work for those barbarians?” She pressed a hand to her aching wound. “You truly must not remember my family.”
For the first time, Kenobi’s distrust eased. “How do you know me?”
The lady took a deep breath before she spoke. “Not long after the Clone Wars began you came to my home world of Saiph. My mother was the sovereign queen. You arrived with your Padawan…” Kenobi visibly blanched “…and the two of you helped protect my mother and our world from a Separatist invasion.”
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan’s features softened. “Saiph?”
“Yes.”
His brow furrowed as he sought the elusive memories from so many years ago. “I… I remember it,” he whispered. Then he looked right into her eyes. “You and your sisters… you were all Force sensitive but your mother would not allow you to be trained as Jedi.”
She smiled and nodded. “Yes.”
“And I remember you.” All the Saiphian princesses had been smitten with Kenobi, fawning over him day and night; but the second-born had been different. At first she was serious and shy, but as time went on she proved to be fierce and levelheaded, often fighting by Obi-Wan’s side and helping strategize before battles. He had liked her very much, more than was appropriate for a Jedi. “Edana.”
“You have not completely forgotten me, then?” she teased.
“You’ll have to forgive my aged memory.” He crossed and sat beside her, reluctantly meeting her gaze. “Edana, lady of fire they called you. How could I forget such a warrior?”
“You are not so aged.” She smiled as she searched his face, now even more handsome with age. The creases in his brow and the slight grey in his auburn sideburns suited him. But there was something apprehensive in his energy. She reached out with the Force. “You are embarrassed,” she said gently.
He blushed and looked down.
Edana placed a hand on his arm. “Why, Obi-Wan?”
His breath caught in his chest. No one had said his real name in over five years. He had forgotten what it sounded like. “I’m not the man you remember.”
She snorted. “Why? Because your cloak has holes and because you’re not standing at the head of an army?” She tightened her grip and shook him. “The things that make you great, the things that I was in awe of when we first met, are all right here, Master Kenobi.” She touched her fingertip to his chest just above his heart. “Whether you’re leading a battle from the helm of a star cruiser or living a quiet life in a humble hut, the things that make you remarkable remain unchanged.”
He looked at her once again and saw something he had not seen for a long time – someone who actually knew him, understood him, knew his past. The tightness in his chest loosened. He wouldn’t have to hide in front of her. He had spent the past five years on this gods forsaken planet repressing everything – his connection to the Force, his reputation as a hero, his position as a Jedi. He was Ben the hermit, living in the middle of nowhere, left to die alone as a nobody. He still wasn’t used to the idea. Comparing where his life began to where it would end was shockingly disparate.
But now the Force had brought them together in this moment. What on earth did it all mean?
He realized it didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was the present. Obi-Wan Kenobi was suddenly calm.
“No one has escaped the Empire unscathed,” Edana whispered, almost to herself. “We have all been altered.”
Kenobi suddenly thought of the woman Edana had been and the family to whom she was devoted. “Where are your sisters?”
She swallowed thickly. “When our mother was killed we scattered. I don’t know where they are but we are supposed to meet again in a set place on a specific day.” Her eyes betrayed her fear. “I hope they all arrive.”
Obi-Wan took her hand in his. “I’m so sorry,” he said kindly. “You and your family deserved so much better.”
Edana placed her other hand on top of his. “We all deserved better, Obi-Wan.”
--------------------
The smell of sulfur burned his nose.
Cinders danced all around, singeing his tunic.
Despite the lava river that flowed in front of him and the wind that tousled his hair, everything was oddly quiet.
Kenobi stood, staring out over the roiling magma, tears silently slipping down his cheeks. This had been the place, the very slope where his friend laid dying. “Anakin,” he whispered.
His heart had an emptiness that could not be filled. Years had passed since their fateful duel on Mustafar yet Obi-Wan could not find peace. Had Anakin Skywalker died that day? Should Kenobi have been merciful and finished the young Sith off? Something about that moment felt unfinished.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispered.
A warning from the Force tingled up his spine. He felt darkness manifesting behind him as a shadow appeared and took physical form. Kenobi slowly turned, dread clutching his heart.
What he saw was part monster, part machine, towering over him like a nightmare.
The creature drifted forward.
Kenobi was frozen in place. He could not bring himself to speak. He feared the shadow before him, feared it contained a secret that could ruin him, but he also felt like this meeting was inevitable, that nothing he did would ever prevent it.
The monster ignited a lightsaber, the blade glittering crimson.
Obi-Wan had no weapon.
He knew what was about to happen.
“You should not have come back, old man,” the shadow said, bearing down on him.
As the blade arched through the air, Kenobi’s consciousness cried out, but it was too late. He screamed at the same moment he was cut down. “Anakin!”
--------------------
Obi-Wan woke choking and gasping for breath, the memory of Mustafar brimstone still burning his sinuses. His heart pounded as his emotions reached a nearly uncontrollable peak. He lay still and squeezed his eyes shut, embracing the silence around him, forcing his mind to focus on the dark room that encompassed him. I am in my home, he thought. I am safe. For a moment his heart began to calm, but the respite did not last long.
Anakin.
Kenobi’s eyes opened wide as the name echoed through his mind. He stared blindly up into the pitch-black room. He could sense that it was still hours before dawn. The nights on Tatooine seemed to last forever…
Tatooine. Trapped for eternity on the horrible planet where Anakin was from. Kenobi cupped a hand over his eyes and rubbed his temples. Will I never be free of him?
The thought caused a surprising swell of emotions in Obi-Wan’s chest. His jaw clenched painfully tight as he held his breath, trying to stop the sudden urge to sob.
Anakin.
The monster in his dream… the dream that had felt frighteningly real.
What did it all mean?
Was Anakin the monster or was Obi-Wan?
Had his friend not died that day on Mustafar?
The thought of Anakin trapped inside that hideous mechanical suite was the final straw. Obi-Wan threw off his sheets and sat up on the edge of the bed as a sob caught in his throat. He must distract himself; he had to get as far away from his dream as possible.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he dropped his head into his hands.
“Obi-Wan?”
Kenobi jumped so violently that he nearly fell off the bed. He had completely forgotten that another human was sharing his home.
“I didn’t mean to wake you,” he said quietly, too embarrassed to look up at her now that his eyes had adjusted to the darkness.
Edana knelt before Obi-Wan but did not touch him. “I wasn’t asleep,” she confessed. “I rarely sleep anymore.”
“I know the feeling,” he said darkly, rubbing his eyes, trying to hide his tears and quell his emotions.
“Do you have nightmares often?” Edana asked cautiously, knowing a Jedi would not be pleased to admit his dreams were haunted.
Kenobi froze, unsure how to answer her pointed question.
She could sense that he was ashamed and afraid, so she reached out and took his hands in hers. He did not respond; his fingers didn’t close around hers, he didn’t ease into her touch, he simply sat there frozen. “I’m not leaving you alone, Obi-Wan.”
He glanced at her, his face tight with emotions.
“Your braining is screaming that you want me to go away, but everything else about you says you have been on your own far too long.”
His rigidity faltered as his self-control began to fissure.
Slowly, she rose and sat next to him on the bed. “You cried out ‘Anakin’ in your sleep. Wasn’t that your Padawan’s name?”
Kenobi swallowed thickly and nodded, unable to control his voice enough to speak.
“Did he survive Order 66 as well?”
Obi-Wan shook his head. “Please don’t ask me about him,” he managed to whisper.
Edana squeezed his hands reassuringly. She wanted desperately to help him and to ease his agitated spirit. “What can I do for you?” she asked.
He looked into her eyes, his own blue orbs round and exhausted. “I don’t know what I need,” he confessed, looking shattered.
Edana closed her eyes and let the Force flow through her into Kenobi, gauging his feelings. He was sleep deprived, bored, and bitter. He felt his identity had been destroyed, as though he had been robbed of all his defining attributes, and his life was nearly devoid of human contact. Edana’s heart tightened. How could one man endure so much?
She opened her eyes and took in his features; the handsome sharp brow line, the broad nose, the soft eyelashes. He was a little weathered, a little crinkled from the sun, and his hair was uncharacteristically unkempt due to the constant high desert winds, but she thought the look suited him.
Edana felt the Force shift around her and she instantly understood what this man needed. He lived in isolation, an unnatural state, a condition often used as punishment for prisoners. This hero of the Republic deserved better.
She slid forward, pulling him toward her. She slipped one hand around his neck while she cupped his face with the other, gently pressing her cheek to his. For a moment he seemed startled but then he suddenly yielded, melting into her touch. He buried his face in her neck and she wrapped her arms all the way around him, holding him tightly. “It’s all right, Obi-Wan,” she whispered.
Events had taken an unexpected turn; he was unaccustomed to another person’s company much less their unsolicited embraced, but Kenobi could not deny how intensely comforting it was to be touch by another being. After his nightmare, his initial instinct had been to hide all emotion, but Edana’s presence in the Force had drawn him out instead. He realized he didn’t feel vulnerable; for the first time in a long time he felt fortified. It was a stark lesson on the importance of contact with other living creatures.
Obi-Wan slid his arms around her back and pulled her against him, trying to give as much comfort as he received. Edana was kind and empathetic, but he could sense she also carried a great deal of pain. He ran his hand up her spine and cupped the base of her neck, gently running his fingers through her soft hair. He wished time would stop and allow them to stay in this moment forever. They held still, letting the Force wrap around them for a long time.
Edana was a little shocked by her own forwardness. When she had first met Obi-Wan, she was a young newly commissioned officer in her mother’s army, fierce and vying for action. Kenobi was a grown man, a stable, fearless Jedi Master; he was dashing, disarmingly handsome with a surprising sense of humor. She had been drawn to him, though so had every other female (and male for that matter). She was in awe of him, and though she got the not entirely unfounded sense that he was drawn to her as well, she would never have been so bold as to touch him much less wrap her body around his. But she was a grown woman now and realized that youthful timidity and decorum was useless in times of emotional need. Touching Obi-Wan now had been the right thing to do.
As she slowly began to pull away, he gave her a brief half smile, roguish charm flashing in his eyes. Before she could stop herself she leaned forward and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to his lips. She could have blamed it on the Force, could have said she was caught up in the moment, but the truth was she simply had always wanted to kiss Obi-Wan Kenobi.
To her surprise the Jedi gently kissed her back; she could feel him savoring her full lips.
When they parted they did not break their embrace; they stayed close together, their noses touching, each feeling the other’s breath on their tongue.
Edana worried her audacious kiss had offended the Jedi and his Code. “Forgive me,” she whispered, though she only half meant it.
Kenobi battled with himself for a moment. He had felt a strange connection with this woman from the very first moment he met her. While all her sisters had practically thrown themselves at him, Edana had simply fought by his side, proved herself an equal, and had made him laugh with her quick wit and dry sarcasm. Her stunning almond-shaped eyes seemed to hold ancient mysteries and the way her lips curved when she smiled had nearly driven him to distraction. Now, eight years later, the Force had once again drawn them together, and this time there was nothing really to stand between them. Except perhaps the Jedi Code.
The Code be damned, he instantly thought. He had spent his life living by the Code. Right now he was going to live by the Force.
He cupped her cheek in his warm dry hand and pulled her to him, kissing her slowly like he’d always wanted, enjoying her succulent lips and the smell of her skin, taking in every detail. He immediately felt intoxicated as she kissed him back and ran her hands up his strong neck. Being touched, being desired, was enough to drive them both mad. He pushed his fingers into her hair as his kiss deepened. He wanted to worship every inch of her; he traced her eyebrow then her cheekbone then the corner of her mouth with his thumb before coaxing her lips open even wider. She could not repress a gentle moan as he scooped his strong arms all the way around her back and pulled her into his lap. She twined her fingers through his tousled auburn hair and pressed her body against his as he began to kiss down her neck.
Edana had imagined this moment many times. When they first met she had idolized him, placed him on a pedestal built from grand tales of his accomplishments. After they spent months working together she knew the rumors of Kenobi’s legendary skill had not been exaggerated, but she had grown fond of his imperfections as well. And though they both fought to keep their concentration on the task at hand, Edana had not been able to ignore that his power, his skill, and his acumen coupled with his unfathomable good looks and fine body made him a man by which to measure all others.
As she ran her hands across his taught shoulders and felt his muscular arms around her, she knew she had been right in all her assumptions. Jedi or not, Kenobi was a man of passion. He drew her tunic open and kissed his way down her body as he slipped his hands inside the fabric, his rough desert-worn palms sliding across her skin before pulling her tighter against him.
She suddenly gasped and recoiled, pressing a hand to her abdomen as she held her breath.
“Your wound,” he apologized. “I’d forgotten.”
“It’s all right,” she said through clenched teeth, her eyes squeezed shut against the pain. “I’m fine.”
Kenobi remembered how Edana had said the same thing on the battlefield after being shot three times by droid’s blaster. “You’re not fine.” His hands clenched into fists and he pulled away, as though afraid to touch her. “You should rest...”
“No,” She cut him off.
Her firm tone startled Kenobi. Her gaze was strong and unyielding. “I have no more bacta to heal you properly,” he argued.
“No, Obi-Wan.”
They stared into each other’s eyes for a long time, both unsure how stubborn they should be. He finally admitted that they each wanted the same thing. He took a deep breath before making up his mind. He reached forward, wrapping his left arm around her, spreading his hand flat across her back. Then he pressed his right hand to her wound and closed his eyes. Stretching out through the Force he searched his memories, trying to find the healing skills Qui-Gon had taught him as a young boy. A tingling began in his fingers as the Force glittered to life, blending Edana’s Force signature with his own, willing her wound to heal. The sensation was strange and cold; she clutched him, fighting the discomfort as he held her in a reassuring embrace.
Neither could say how long the process took; wrapped in the Force, time seemed to stop as their minds became blind to the world around them. When Obi-Wan finally opened his eyes, he felt somehow empty and full at the same time, as though he had transcended a new understanding of the Force. Edana looked down in disbelief. Nothing remained of her wound but a long red scar.
“Something to remember me by,” Kenobi joked, taking a deep breath after his intense exertion.
Edana leaned back and examined his face, tracing her fingertips across his brow, down his cheek, all the way down his strong neck, trying to memorize every detail. “My forbidden Jedi,” she whispered before placing a gentle kiss to the corner of his mouth. Then she stood, backing a few steps away from him but never breaking eye contact. She opened her tunic fully and let it drop to the floor, revealing her entire body to him. Kenobi swallowed nervously, but he did not look away. “Now, Master Kenobi,” she said, “I shall give you something to remember me by.”
--------------------
Kenobi knew it was a fleeting encounter, a small gift from the Force in his life’s darkest period. The galaxy often seemed like a cold, bleak thing, like a swirling mass of vapors and molecules and emptiness. But on a rare occasion, something happens that replenishes hope for kindness, for validation, for requited affection. Edana reminded Obi-Wan that though space and time were vast and twisting, warmth and purpose existed as well.
As they lay in his bed, she slept in his arms. He buried his face in her aromatic hair and breathed deeply, remembering the day he first met her. “My lady of fire,” he whispered before drifting off into a dreamless sleep.
--------------------
END NOTES
The story's title comes from Edana's name, which in Irish means "fire," in Gaelic means "fiery," and in Celtic means "passionate." Hence Fire on Tatooine.
@enchantedflameandflower's special requests for this story: - something near the end of the war or on Tatooine - with someone he already knows, whether or not they've already been together - something with him needing comfort! and mush, and wherever it leads from there
I hope I did you justice even a little bit :)

What If…? Episode 5 Review: Magnificent Marvel Zombie Chaos
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This review contains spoilers for Marvel’s What If…? episode 5.
Episode 5 of Marvel’s What If…?, entitled ‘What If…Zombies!?’, is a tremendously fun half hour of television, and is also likely to be a really good time for fans of the Marvel Zombies comics.
The installment is packed with laughs and shocking moments, using classic zombie tropes to keep some of the best and most underrated MCU characters on their toes while maintaining an enviable pace as it throws one wild scenario after another at them.
As you may know by now if you’ve been reading our weekly What If…? reviews, they’re adopting a slightly different format. More of a breakdown that we hope will satisfy die-hard Marvel fans but also help younger viewers and those less familiar with the MCU keep up.
Alright! Now, let’s dig into ‘What If…Zombies!?’, which ponders what would have happened if Janet van Dyne had contracted a terrible virus during her time in the Quantum Realm.
Required viewing
It helps to have seen all the MCU movies leading up to Avengers: Infinity War, but perhaps Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther and the first two Ant-Man films are the most essential watches. There are also a fair few gut punches for any WandaVision fans in the building, and whomst amongst us is not?
Voice cast
Our Watcher Uatu is of course Jeffrey Wright, Chadwick Boseman is T’Challa/Black Panther, Paul Rudd is Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Mark Ruffalo is Bruce Banner/Hulk, Evangeline Lily is Hope van Dyne/Wasp, Sebastian Stan is Bucky Barnes, Paul Bettany is Vision, Jon Favreau is Happy Hogan, Danai Gurira is Okoye, Emily VanCamp is Sharon Carter, David Dastmalchian is Kurt, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor is Ebony Maw.
The missing voice here is Tom Holland. Musician and Mad Men actor Hudson Thames fills in as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in episode 5.
What’s different?
Bruce Banner in Hulk form returns to Earth via the Bifröst just as he did at the start of Avengers: Infinity War, but this time when he crashes down into the Sanctum Sanctorum he finds Iron Man, Wong and Doctor Strange already turned into flesh-eating zombies.
Bruce is thankfully saved by Hope van Dyne and her swarm of ants, and Peter Parker whisks him off while we get some helpful exposition.
In this universe, Hank Pym’s Ant-Man and the Wasp journey to the Quantum Realm to retrieve his long-lost wife Janet went badly wrong when he found her infected by a quantum zombie brain virus upon his arrival. When she returned, Janet started gnawing on everything within reach and the virus spread like wildfire, quickly infecting millions. Cap, Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man and Black Panther apparently set out with arguably the worst Cap plan ever to turn back the tide, and disappeared under a pile of hungry zombies.
Banner finds himself among the last of the still-human holdouts. Bucky Barnes, Okoye and Sharon Carter are tracking a signal from Camp Lehigh that may or may not provide a solution to the zombie problem. Along with Happy Hogan and Kurt (who I still don’t think has a last name), the gang forge a loose, Train to Busan-y mission to try and reach Camp Lehigh.
Unfortunately, they are attacked by numerous familiar faces before they set out, and Happy is turned into a zombie, further dampening Peter’s hopes for a W. They eventually get aboard a train, but Zombie Cap climbs on and Bucky has to fight him, which leads to a small sliver of time with Bucky as Cap when he nabs his shield.
Hope gets infected, but helps the rest of the gang get to Camp Lehigh, where they find Vision experimenting with the Mind Stone, and Scott and T’Challa still alive (to varying degrees). Okoye realizes they can use Vision’s research to cure the zombie population, but only from Wakanda where the tech they need could be easily constructed.
Vision’s base turns out to be a bit of a trap. He’s been luring people there to feed a contained – and admittedly extremely cool-looking – Zombie Wanda, as he couldn’t bear to lose her (gulp). His guilt gets the better of him when his friends are attacked by Wanda, and T’Challa, Peter and Scott Lang’s head escape Camp Lehigh and fly to Wakanda while Banner Hulks out and attacks the hoard.
How does it work out?
Oof, not good. Earth seems utterly screwed. Scott is still a head in a jar being supportively cuddled by The Cloak of Levitation, T’Challa is missing a leg, Peter is clinging on to his last shred of hope, and the safe haven of Wakanda plays host to an Infinity Gauntlet-wielding zombie Thanos. Yikes.
Standout moments
There were so many fantastic moments in episode 5 that it will probably require a rewatch or two to catch them all!
First, I’ve gotta give a shout-out to the The Cloak of Levitation. It really is the gift that keeps on giving – kind of like the MCU’s version of a silent movie star. That thing has surely saved the day as many times as the Avengers by now, and it asks for nothing in return. The Cloak of Levitation always knows the assignment, and always delivers.
You’ll be unsurprised to learn that I also loved Peter’s glorious zombie training video, which started off with a distinct Mutant Enemy-esque ident. What a smorgasbord of joy! Kurt’s ketchup-squirting special effects, Bucky listed as “silent but deadly”, Happy forced to wear a custom Thor shirt of questionable origin. This instructional clip had everything, didn’t it?
Peter’s struggle to keep hope alive in the zombie apocalypse is an arc that has almost certainly been pulled from Philip Kennedy Johnson’s spectacular Marvel Zombies: Resurrection run, and it’s just as affecting in this episode as it was in the pages of Marvel Comics. Peter can always be relied upon to maintain his earnest spirit until the bitter end.
Both Kurt and Happy were terrific additions in this episode. Happy’s insistence on yelling “blam!” every time he used the repulsor glove reminded me of Ewan McGregor’s behind the scenes Star Wars: The Phantom Menace story, where he admitted that he made lightsaber noises out loud when he was filming. Apparently, McGregor did it so much that the post-production crew ended up having to edit in louder lightsaber sounds to cover it all up.
Of course, the continuing heartbreak of Vision and Wanda’s relationship was once again ready to twist the emotional knife. In WandaVision, Wanda couldn’t help but use her Chaos Magic to keep Vision around after his death, but here we see that Vision arguably went to more disturbing lengths to contain a zombified Wanda. It was even hard to cope with the monstrous Wanda finding Vision’s lifeless body, and yet Marvel still refuses to pay for my therapy.
See you again next week!

Marvel’s What If…? is now streaming on Disney+.

Demi Lovato
This sassy, down-to-earth songstress shows a softer side with a simple garter stitch scarf as she travels from one gig to another. Knitting is, after all, the perfect way to unwind after a high-energy night.

Ryan Gosling
Hearthrob Ryan Gosling has been the subject of many a ‘Hey Girl’ knitting meme, but he actually does knit. He learned on the set of the quirky indie film, Lars and the Real Girl, where he also sports adorable sweaters (like the one shown above).

Krysten Ritter
We love Krysten for her unapologetic roles in shows like Jessica Jones and Breaking Bad, but now we have a new reason to love this actress: her devotion to knitting. Krysten often shares knitting projects on her Instagram and has been seen knitting on the Tonight Show. She’s not just into garter stitch, either--the actress was interviewed for Interweave, Mollie Makes, and Vogue Knitting this year about her projects, including her design work for We Are Knitters.

Julia Roberts
It’s no secret that Julia Roberts knits--or that she knits so much that even co-stars like Tom Hanks, when given the opportunity, learned too. As one of our favorite knitting celebrities, it’s extra special to see Julia wearing a Women’s March hat that she probably made herself!

Dakota Fanning
Dakota has been knitting since a young age, and has a habit of gifting her creations to co-stars, like Tom Cruise on the War of the Worlds set, and Ewan McGregor in her more recent film, American Pastoral. It looks like knitters of all stripes can’t help but be generous with their talents. She sounds like the perfect candidate for a knitting subscription, just saying....!

Cara Delevigne
Supermodel and actress Cara Delevigne has been spotted knitting before runway shows as a way to unwind and pass the time. It wouldn’t be a stretch for her to start a new fashion trend if she begins wearing more of her own knitted accessories.

Audrey Hepburn
Iconic and timeless, this beautiful star was seen knitting between shots on many of her films, but also during the movie Breakfast at TIffany’s. We wonder what she was up to on the set of The Unforgiven, where this shot was taken behind the scenes.

Sarah Jessica Parker
This "Sex and the City" star has been repeatedly spotted knitting on and off set. In a Good Housekeeping article, Sarah was asked how she relaxes. Her reply was: "I read, watch TV, or knit. But I try to knit and watch TV at the same time, which means I end up with many dropped stitches". Read more here.

David Arquette
His grandmother taught him to knit. How sweet! David loves knitting so much that he appeared on the cover of Celebrity Scarves 2 to support breast cancer research. Speaking of, the Celebrity Scarves books by Abra Edelman are full of wonderful celebrity knitters and features an introduction by another celebrity knitter...
Tumblr media
Daryl Hannah
Daryl Hannah was featured on the cover of the 2003 Vogue Knitting magazine, before the 2006 knitting craze that launched sites like Ravelry.

Katherine Heigl
The 27 Dresses and Knocked Up star blogs about her life and crafts, here. She has even stated that she has thought about opening up a knitting shop. (You go, Katherine--we’d all visit for knit night)!
Tumblr media

Amanda Seyfried
The Mean Girls and Mamma Mia star has said that she considers knitting her therapy, and is often seen knitting in public as well as on set. She’s moved far beyond your typical garter stitch and often shares sweaters, including one designed by Steven West, on her social media.
Tumblr media
photo credit Sunday Times Style Magazine
Daisy Ridley
The Star Wars star is an avid knitter. We hope that during those social media breaks, she’s getting lots of knitting time in!
There are countless more that we’ll have to explore in another post: knitters like Ingrid Bergman, the Notorious RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsburg), Amy Adams, Blake Lively, Russel Crowe, Harry Styles, Lorde, Kate Moss, Karen Allen, Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury, Kurt Cobain, Uma Thurman, Kate Hudson, and many more have been rumored to pick up hooks, needles, and yarn! We can’t help but wonder how many of these knitters might be secret Ravelry readers and even Knitcrate subscribers. If you’re thinking of taking up knitting or crochet yourself, a subscription is a great place to start.

Fall Movie Preview 2019
New Post has been published on https://esonetwork.com/fall-movie-preview-2019/
Fall Movie Preview 2019
Tumblr media
Fall movie season is here! This is always my favorite time of the year to see movies. There’s such a wonderful variety of films available to see in theaters. Everything from awards season contenders, indie darlings, and exciting space adventures! Get ready to make your way to the theater because this looks like it’s going to be a great season at the movies. Let’s take a look at what’s coming soon.
SEPTEMBER September 13th The Goldfinch Starring: Ansel Elgort, Oakes Fengley, Nicole Kidman, Finn Wolfhard Bring the tissues and prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions because this is gonna be a wild ride. The Goldfinch is based on the Pultizer Prize winning novel by Donna Tart. This is one of the best books I’ve read recently, but it’s quite an emotional journey. It follows 13-year-old Theo Decker after the traumatic death of his mother in an art museum bombing. It’s a haunting and powerful story about the human condition once grief becomes a prominent force in one’s life. The film is directed by John Crowley with Roger Deakins as director of photography. That’s what I call must-see cinema.
youtube
Hustlers Starring: Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Cardi B, Lili Reinhart Based on a New York Times article, former strip club employees band together to hustle their Wall Street Clients during the late 2000’s financial crisis. This looks a bit like the heist of Oceans 8 meets the real world story of Molly’s Game. It has quite a star studded female cast of movie/TV/and music stars and is directed by Lorene Scafaria (Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, The Meddler.)
youtube
September 20th Downton Abbey Starring: Michelle Dockery, Maggie Smith, Hugh Boneville, Jim Carter You love Downton Abbey, I love Downton Abbey. Everyone loves Downton Abbey. I can hear the theme song playing in my head just thinking of the movie being released. That’s right, the beloved TV series is coming to the big screen. Hopefully, it won’t be anything like the season 3 finale. (Real fans know the pain and struggle. We can’t go back to that time.) In the film, Downton Abbey will be visited by the royal family. I’m sure it will make for quite an impressive cinematic experience. As a fan of the show, I can’t wait to see it all on the big screen!
youtube
Ad Astra Starring: Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Liv Tyler Just two months after showing the world that he doesn’t age in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Brad Pitt is back and he’s going to space. It makes sense, fall is the only logical time to release a film in the space genre. (The Martian, Interstellar, First Man, Arrival, Gravity were all released in the fall,.) Ad Astra is all about an astronaut who takes on a mission to uncover the truth about his missing father. The film is directed by James Gray (The Lost City of Z, The Immigrant). I just hope Brad Pitt gets to wear his iconic Hawaiian shirt. Audiences demand to see it again.
youtube
September 27th Judy Starring: Renée Zellweger, Finn Wittrock, Jessie Buckley, Rufus Sewell There’s nothing like a good biographical drama. Throw in musical numbers and it’s a hit in my eyes. Renée Zellweger stars as the iconic Judy Garland in this biopic that explores her life in 1969 as she arrives in London to perform a series of sold out concerts. Word from the Telluride Film Festival is that Renée Zellweger gives a very strong performance as Judy. Could she have an awards season run on her hands for Best Actress? We’ll see very soon!
youtube
OCTOBER
October 4th Joker Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Robert de Niro, Zazie Beets Joaquin Phoenix stars as the Joker in this standalone film that focuses on the origins of the DC villain. The film received an 8 minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, which seems pretty excessive for any movie. I’m just not a movie applauder. It’s unnatural to me. I’m also not much of a Joker enthusiast so I can’t get too excited about this or the way it seemingly wants me to feel sympathy for the Joker. I don’t. He’s a terrorist. However, this is going to be a huge cinematic event. There are striking similarities to 70’s hit films The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver in the first trailers of the film. Director Todd Phillips clearly wanted to make a unique comic book film and this one will have people talking.
youtube
Lucy in the Sky Starring: Natalie Portman, Dan Stevens, Jon Hamm Another space movie! Fall movie season demands it. After returning from space, astronaut Lucy Cola begins to feel withdrawn and disconnected from reality. The film is loosely based on Lisa Nowak, an astronaut who lost her grip on reality after returning to earth after space travel. One thing’s for sure, with a cast including Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm, and Dan Stevens, this one promises some impressive acting.
youtube
October 11 Gemini Man Starring: Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen An assassin becomes the target of a mysterious government operative who can predict his every move. Soon he finds out that the mysterious operative is a clone of himself. Can Gemini Man help director Ang Lee (Life of Pi, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) find critical acclaim again after 2016’s underwhelming Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
youtube
The King Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, Joel Edgerton Based on Shakespeare’s Henriad, The King follows Henry V as he takes the throne after his father’s death and navigates a kingdom filled with war, chaos, and political strife. While all of that is very interesting, I think we need to discuss the hair in this movie. First of all, there’s Timothée Chalamet’s bowl cut, which is quite a situation. So very round and tragic. Why Timothée? You know you have great hair, but the bowl cut is not your look! Then, there’s Robert Pattinson’s wig. It’s kind of amazing. The hair in this movie alone is going to keep me entertained for 2 hours. The King will be in limited release theaters on October 11th and begin streaming on Netflix November 1st.
youtube
October 18th Zombieland: Double Tap Starring: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin This sequel comes 10 years after the popular zombie comedy first made its way to theaters. A lot has changed for the cast since 2009. Emma Stone has won an Oscar for La La Land, Jesse Eisenberg received a nomination for The Social Network, and Woody Harrelson has appeared in several projects including the Oscar nominated Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and the critically acclaimed series True Detective. That doesn’t stop this cast for returning for a sequel!  This time around, the team is back in the American heartland to face off against evolved zombies.
youtube
The Lighthouse Starring: Robert Pattinson, Willem Dafoe I was initially indifferent towards this movie, but after watching the trailer I have to see it just to solve the mystery of who spilled those beans! Willem Dafoe is going INSANE over it. “Why’d ya spill your beans?” Someone please answer him before he turns into the Green Goblin! This movie is about two lighthouse keepers who try to maintain their sanity while living in seclusion on a remote island in Maine. (It’s also about beans, I think). The cinematography for The Lighthouse has a unique old Hollywood feel that is very intriguing.
youtube
Jojo Rabbit Starring: Taika Watiti, Scarlett Johannson, Roman Griffin, Sam Rockwell Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Hunt for the Wilderpeople) directs and stars in Jojo Rabbit, an “anti-hate satire” about a young German boy whose imaginary best friend is an idiotic version of Hitler. One day, he discovers that his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home and Jojo’s world is turned upside down. There’s no doubt this will be controversial, but the key word here is satire. Taiki Waititi is Jewish himself and the film is obviously making fun of Nazis.
youtube
NOVEMBER
November 1st The Irishman Starring: Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci Martin Scorsese’s long awaited gangster epic is finally premiering this November. The 3 1/2 hour crime drama (Scorsese loves a good 3-hour runtime!) focuses on the life of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran a mob hitman who played a role in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. Netflix is distributing the film, but it will be available to see in select theaters on November 1st for cinematic purists. It will begin streaming on Netflix November 27th. (Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Go ahead and watch a 3-hour mafia epic with your family for the holiday! It’s Martin’s gift to you.)
youtube
Harriet Starring: Cynthia Erivo, Janelle Monet, Joe Alwyn The true story of Harriet Tubman and her harrowing escape from slavery that eventually led to the Underground Railroad. Cynthia Ervio is going to be amazing in this role! She was such a breakout star in Widows and Bad Times at the El Royale. Can’t wait to see her portrayal of Harriet Tubman.
youtube
Terminator: Dark Fate Starring: Mackenzie Davis, Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger The Terminator is back. In yet another installment of the franchise that will last forever, Sarah Connor and a hybrid human must protect a young girl from a newly modified Terminator from the future.
youtube
November 8th Doctor Sleep Starring: Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson, Jacob Tremblay 39 years after The Shining, it’s getting a sequel. Based on the novel by Steven King, Doctor Sleep focuses on an adult Danny Torrance as he meets a girl with similar “shining” powers and tries to protect her from a cult called The True Knot. There’s a lot of talent involved in this project, but The Shining is untouchable in terms of classic movies. There’s no need to make a sequel. Not to mention, this plot summary sounds kind of weak. Consider me very skeptical that this will be good.
youtube
Last Christmas Starring: Emilia Clarke, Henry Goulding, Emma Thompson A Christmas rom-com! Let’s jump for joy because a Christmas rom com is making its way to theaters! Last Christmas is all about Kate, a depressed woman working as Santa’s elf in a department store. She keeps bumping into the same man, Tom, who may help her find happiness in the holiday season. Henry Goulding/Emilia Clarke romance+Christmas? Sounds like a recipe for the perfect holiday movie!
youtube
Honey Boy Starring: Shia Labeouf, Lucas Hedges, Noah Jupe It’s no secret that Shia LaBeouf has had a chaotic lifestyle in his post-Disney days. It looks like audiences are about to find out what has gone on behind-the-scenes in Honey Boy. The film is written by LaBeouf and follows his own experiences with fame and the strained relationship with his dysfunctional father. Noah Jupe and Lucas Hedges will be playing Shia LaBeouf as a child and teen actor, while Shia LaBeouf will play his own father for a meta twist. As someone who grew up watching Even Stevens and saw Shia LaBeouf’s career progress, this is one of my most anticipated films of the fall.
youtube
November 15th Ford v. Ferrari Starring: Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Catriona Balfe American car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles attempt to build a revolutionary race car for Ford to battle Ferrari at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1966. The premise of this movie reminds me a little bit of Ron Howard’s Rush which is a very underrated movie that should be watched if you haven’t seen it.
youtube
The Report Starring: Adam Driver, Jon Hamm, Tim Blake Nelson The Report is a political drama about an FBI agent’s investigation into the CIA’s torture practice on suspected terrorists after 9/11. Adam Driver stars in the film and he’s about to have a major fall movie season. The Report and Marriage Story (more on that one a little later) could easily get him awards buzz. In fact, I predict he’ll be nominated for an Oscar for one of those roles. Plus, he’ll be in Star Wars in December. You’ll be seeing a lot of him in the next few months.
youtube
Charlie’s Angels Starring: Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska, Elizabeth Banks Did we need another Charlie’s Angels reboot after the 2000’s movie trilogy and the ABC TV show? No. Yet there’s nothing Hollywood loves to more than to reboot a franchise we’ve just seen! This time around the angels are played by Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinski. Elizabeth Banks is directing and co-starring in the project.

November 22nd Frozen 2 Starring: Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf go on an adventure to an enchanted autumn forest to find the origin of Elsa’s powers and save their land. Just when everyone finally got Let it Go out of their heads, Disney is gonna hit us with another Frozen movie. I have to admit, I’m intrigued by the concept of the autumn forest. We need more movies that take place in the fall! It should be it’s own sub-genre.
youtube
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Starring: Tom Hanks, Matthew Rhys, Susan Kelechi Watson He’s already played Walt Disney, Captain Phillips, and Sully so it’s fitting that Tom Hanks would play Mr. Rogers on the list of “America’s favorite people” up next. The movie is all about the friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. I cannot wait to see this. If you haven’t watched the documentary about Fred Rogers called Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, do it before this is released! It’s going to add so much depth to the cinematic experience.
youtube
November 27th Knives Out Starring: Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette When a famous crime novelist is found dead on his estate, a detective is enlisted to investigate the family. Knives Out is directed by Rian Johnson (Looper, The Last Jedi) and packed with stars. It looks a bit like Bad Times at the El Royale meets the style of a Wes Anderson movie. I’m very interested in the central mystery at play here, but I can’t lie, Chris Evans is the reason I’ll go to the theater for this.
youtube
December 6th Marriage Story Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver, Laura Dern This one is gonna be majorly sad, so let’s all take some time to prepare ourselves. A stage director and his actress wife struggle as their marriage falls apart and they proceed with a difficult coast-to-coast divorce. Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale, Frances Ha) directed the film which has already been receiving high praise from early festival screenings. This will definitely draw comparisons to Kramer vs. Kramer and Baumback’s The Squid and the Whale based on the trailer’s tone. The juxtaposition of the couple’s happy memories vs. the court scene at the end of the trailer is just heartbreaking. Marriage Story will be available to stream on Netflix December 6th.
youtube
December 13th A Hidden Life Starring: August Diehl, Valerie Pachner, Matthias Schoenaerts Few movies have affected me the way Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life have. It’s certainly not a movie for everyone, but it works for me. The unconventional narrative, epic cinematography, and orchestral score are unforgettable. Critics from festival screenings have said that A Hidden Life is his best work since The Tree of Life meaning I’ll need to see it ASAP. The film is based on a true story about an Austrian farmer named Franz Jaggerstatter who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. The trailer looks beautiful and poetic.
youtube
December 20th Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Starring: Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega The latest Star Wars trilogy will complete with The Rise of Skywalker. Taking place after The Last Jedi, the members left in the Resistance will face the First Order once again. The conflict between the Jedi and the Sith reaches a breaking point bringing the Skywalker saga to an end. I have so many questions about this movie! Was Kylo Ren actually lying to Rey about her parents in The Last Jedi? Could they really be important people? Will she turn to the dark side like this preview suggests? (I hope not). Why is Palpatine (the villain who died in Return of the Jedi) talking in all of the trailers? Thankfully, J.J. Abrams is returning as director for The Rise of Skywalker to answer all of my questions and hopefully deliver a great Star Wars film.
youtube
Jumanji: The Next Level Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was one of the biggest surprise box office hits in recent years, appealing to people of all age groups. It’s no surprise that The Next Level is being released so quickly after the massive success of Welcome to the Jungle. This time around, the group goes back into the game, but a few of their grandfather’s are sucked in as well. That means Kevin Hart will be playing Danny Glover and Dwayne Johnson will be portraying Danny DeVito.
youtube
Cats Starring: Francesca Hayward, Jason Derulo, Judi Dench, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift Forget Star Wars, forget A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, forget A Hidden Life. Disregard everything on this list. Cats is going to be the cinematic moment of 2019! That CGI? Legendary! The actors could have worn cat suits or make up like the stage play, but director Tom Hooper decided that this is the 21st century…time to try out a new technique called digital fur technology! So now this movie exists. It’s difficult to describe what this digital fur technology looks like, but it’s not cats. I will say the trailer was released with plenty of time before the movie gets to theaters so there’s hope that the finished product will look way better than the original trailer. If I’m being totally honest, I love anything musical, so I’m totally going to see this.
youtube
December 25th Little Women Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern Greta Gerwig’s highly ancitipated second film is a remake of the beloved Louisa May Alcott novel, Little Women. You all know the story, but I’ll do a quick plot recap anyway. Little Women is told through the eyes of Jo March as she recounts her life growing up with her 3 sisters: Meg, Amy, and Beth. Each have their own distinct personalities, but have a very strong bond with each other. The film reunites Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet as Jo March and Laurie for a mini-Lady Bird reunion. It also contains a little Big Little Lies reunion with Meryl Streep and Laura Dern. What a great Christmas day release!
youtube
That concludes this Fall Movie Preview! As you can tell, there are tons of movies releasing this season in all genres. What are you most excited to see this fall?

RULES:
Answer each question by picking either option. You can explain your choice if you want.
Once you’re done, tag 5 people! Or don’t. Up to you.
Add your own related questions if you want!
Include the rules just in case!
Have fun choosing :)
Cast/Characters:
Paige O’ Hara’s Belle or Emma Watson’s Belle
Emma’s Belle because....she’s kind of a beast, tbh. She’s sharp and suspicious and prickly from her lifetime of being left out of things; she only softens as she finds her home at the palace. Her singing is a bit naff, but Emma’s Belle is far more interesting, and brings more complexity to the romance. (still say gugu should have got this part though)
Robby Benson’s Beast or Dan Stevens’ Beast
Dan did a superb job.
Richard White’s Gaston or Luke Evans’ Gaston
Is Luke Evans as big as a barge?! Is he now?! Go back to middle-earth, ya wimp
Jesse Corti’s LeFou or Josh Gad’s LeFou
omg is this even a contest
Rex Everhart’s Maurice or Kevin Kline’s Maurice
KEVIN KLINE I LOVE YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU DO please love me back
Jerry Orbach’s Lumiere or Ewan McGregor’s Lumiere
I love Jerry Orbach’s Lumiere so much. So. Much. it’s not even a contest, really
David Ogden Stiers’ Cogsworth or Ian McKellen’s Cogsworth
this one’s hard!! David Ogden Stiers because his line readings are amazing, but it’s sooo close
Angela Lansbury’s Mrs. Potts AND Emma Thompson’s Mrs. Potts
it’s DIFFICULT again!! I CAN’T. they’re both great. don’t make me choose between my two moms
Bradley Pierce’s Chip or Nathan Mack’s Chip
tbh they’re both kinda annoying/creepy, at least in cup form. i dunno it’s both or none so let’s go none
Kimmy Robertson’s Babette or Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Plumette
PLUMEEEEEEEEEEEEETTE
Jo Anne Worley’s Wardrobe or Audra McDonald’s Madame de Garderobe
(oh how divine)
Songs & Scenes:
Human Again or Days In The Sun
days in the sun makes me cry, ok
1991 Gaston or 2017 Gaston
(though I miss the old lyrics)
Lumiere letting Maurice into the castle or Maurice being terrified by Chip
‘monsieur, you are welcome here!’
Beast giving Belle the library as a gift or Beast giving Belle the library because Romeo & Juliet sucks
1991 Castle vs. Villagers or 2017 Castle vs. Villagers
Wait no I've thought about this but I'm on my phone now so I can't fix it. But basically I changed my mind and prefer the 1991 one (but barely)

I was tagged by @musicalhog thank you :)))
Rules: Answer all the questions, then add one of your own, and tag as many people as there are questions
1) Coke or Pepsi? Coke because I would never betray Atlanta 2) Disney or Dreamworks? Dreamworks. Even though Dreamworks is all over the place in terms of quality, when they’re good they’re GREAT. I’m willing to endure more Bee Movies and Turbos if we can get more films like KFP 2 and ROTG.  3) Coffee or tea? Coffee 4) Books or movies? Books, although I barely read books for fun anymore smh 5) Windows or Mac? Mac. I used to prefer Windows bc it’s more affordable but then I got a Mac as a gift and I don’t think I could ever go back. They’re just... so much cleaner/sleeker. 6) D.C. or Marvel? Marvel, but specifically X-Men not Avengers 7) Xbox or PlayStation? Idk, I never played videogames as a kid 8) Night owl or early riser? Night owl for sure 9) Cards or chess? Cards because more than one person can play 10) Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate 11) Vans or converse? Converse 12) Fluff or angst? I like either, depending on my mood. Both can be cathartic for me. 13) Beach or forest? Forest 14) Dogs or cats? Cats 15) Clear skies or rain? Rain 16) Cooking or eating out? Eating out, cooking takes so much effort lmao 17) Spicy or mild food? Mild, I’m so weak, I can’t handle any spicy food haha 18) Halloween/Samhain or Christmas/Yule? Christmas 19) Would you rather forever be a little too cold or a little too hot? A little too cold. You can always put on more clothes, but you can’t take off your skin. 20) If you could have a superpower what would it be? Teleportation or telepathy 21) Animation or live action? Animation 22) Bath or shower? Shower 23) Team Cap or team Ironman? TEAM X-MEN 24) Fantasy or sci-fi? Fantasy 25) Do you have 3 or 4 favourite quotes if so what are they? This one quote by Maya Angelou I saw recently really impacted me: “You may write me down in history / With your bitter, twisted lies / You may tread me in the very dirt / But still, like dust, I’ll rise.” 26) YouTube or Netflix? YouTube 27) Harry Potter or Percy Jackson? Harry Potter is an objectively better series, but I’m gonna go with Percy Jackson because I connect emotionally with it more? Idk. It has much better representation in any case, both for racial minorities and LGBT people. 28) When do you feel accomplished? Surprisingly, doing little things like chores always makes me feel accomplished and productive. And then I use it as an excuse not to do anything else that day haha. 29) Star Wars or Star Trek? Star Wars 30) Paperback books or hardcover books? I don’t really have a preference. 31) Rock or pop music? Pop 32) What is the most important thing in your life? At the moment, getting through college. 33) Mountains or sea/ocean? Ocean 34) How do you express yourself? Through reaction gifs and emojis lmao. 35) What’s the first book/film that really counted to you? Lord of the Rings was probably my first fandom. I was determined to read all the books before watching the movies, even though I was in elementary school, and I did it somehow. Idk just something about the world of Middle-Earth captured my imagination. I read the Silmarillion in 4th grade too, that’s how dedicated and obsessed I was haha. I’ve reread the Silmarillion 3 times since then and I always discover something new every time. Also the movies are so great too. The attention to detail and accuracy to the source content is so great, and the cast was perfect. 36) What’s your element (air, water, etc.)? Water 37) If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? New Zealand 38) If you had any job in the world, what would it be? Idk tbh. I’m undecided in my major, let alone my dream job lol. 39) If you were granted three wishes, what would they be? First wish would be for unlimited money, duh. Second wish would be for teleportation/telepathy/shapeshifting. Third wish would be for diseases like AIDS/cancer/Alzheimer’s to be cured. 40) If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Coffee flavored ice cream. Or sushi, idk if that counts since that’s a v broad category lol. 41) What is your dream companion animal? A fox or a hawk. Or a wolf. 42) Do you think there is life on other planets in universe? Yes. There must be, the universe is so huge. Life is out there, we just have to find it, and it’ll probably be way different from what we were expecting.  43) What’s your strangest childhood memory? One time a little girl poked me in the eye, and then complained that my eyeball hurt her finger jcjlcjlcjlcjllcc. 44) What is your perfect breakfast? Scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. 45) What was the last movie you watched? “I Love You Phillip Morris” about a con artist (Jim Carrey) who falls in love with a fellow inmate (Ewan McGregor) and breaks out of prison four times to be reunited with him. It was funny but sad. A true tragicomedy. Also it’s based on a true story which is cool. Each escape is more daring and creative than the last.
I tag @elissastillstands @berkfrost @southerntinkerbelle and whoever else wants to do this, just tag me so I can see your answers :)
