to thank you, he sometimes will place rocks of all colors and shapes into your ship when you weren't looking. they're the rare kinds too, ones that would make bidders go nuts the moment the curtain is lifted.

imagine ur romantic f/o overhears u singin for the first time! it's ur favourite song, u kno the lyrics by heart and they flow easily from ur lips. ur f/o stands there stunned for a minute, their face heats up a considerable amount as they watch u smile, happy and at peace.

maybe on the last line u turn to face them and make eye contact. maybe ur a bit shy, "h-how long have u been there?" or maybe ur more nonchalant, "oh, hey, nice to see u :)"

whatever the case, ur f/o smiles and replies in kind. for the next few days they praise ur voice endlessly, maybe, if ur f/o is one for terms of endearment, they begin to call u "songbird"?

I hate that saying 'I think this government should stop killing people' is a controversial statement unless you're saying it about the ''''right'''' government(s).

It's fine to say Russia should get the fuck out of Ukraine. No one's really gonna disagree about that.

It's considered hippie dippy leftist to say 'I think the US shouldn't have invaded Iraq.'

But say 'I think the situation in Israel and Palestine is complicated by 70 years of occupation and apartheid' and you get branded an antisemite. Like. No. I am accusing a GOVERNMENT of doing a bad thing and feeling justified about it. I've accused my own government of doing the same thing.

You have to be able to criticize governments. That's... kind of an important thing to be able to do.

Criticizing the actions of a government doesn't automatically mean you hate the people of the country it rules. It can mean you think they and everyone else deserve better from their leaders.

i think aventurine prefers to be the little spoon instead of the big spoon—he's touchstarved and lonely, so having your arms curled around him and your nose buried in his hair just. melts him into puddles, and if he's feeling particularly insecure and tired, the gesture might even broke him into tears.

edit: ++ he loves it when you let him lay his head on your chest too. it makes him feel safe knowing that you're right there, beside him, keeping him company, and showering him with love—knowing that someone actually loves him wholeheartedly without expectations.
