Was looking through some human/android GLaDOS and Wheatley designs before taking a stab at my own, and ended up doodling some that really stood out to me!

Now for the arbitrary ratings of each design for each character simply because I can lol

Wheatley

@shrimperini ‘s design: I like this one a lot! He looks very polite. 10/10.

@the-dangerous-mute-lunatic ‘s design: ??? ?????? Why is he so pretty??? I’m confused but I still really enjoy looking at this one. He’s getting a 9.5/10 only because he slays too much when we all know that, canonically, he would never

@zimtdraws ‘s design: This one feels the most like what Wheatley would look like if he was a human (or human-adjacent), at least to me. One of my personal favorites. 11/10.

@cupcakeshakesnake ‘s design: One of the best object head/android designs I’ve seen of Wheatley thus far. The body perfectly matches the clunky, industrial aesthetic that his core already has! 10/10.

@dipworld-dippa ‘s design: This one’s fun! I love the cartoony vibe he gives off. Another personal favorite. 11/10

@demelly ‘s design: I like how unconventional this one is. A good mix of not-quite-human, but not-quite-machine, either. I also like how messy he looks; the curly hair sticking out all over and clothes that don’t seem like they fit him quite right give off the impression of a disorganized individual (which, considering his status as a core that generates nothing but bad ideas and never shuts up about anything ever, is very fitting). 10/10.

@shrimperini ‘s design: I like this look for her. Very clean and sleek. 10/10.

@the-dangerous-mute-lunatic ‘s design: This one is my absolute favorite. Intimidating, but also very pretty. Also really like how much her chest plate looks like the one for her canonical robotic design. 11/10.

@zimtdraws ‘s design: Another unconventional design, especially for GLaDOS. But there’s something about this one that’s so charming to me. The thick curls and darker skin tone is a nice addition that I don’t see all that often for her. 10/10.

@cupcakeshakesnake ‘s design: Another banger for the object head types! I love how smug and condescending she looks all the time. Just like the real deal. 10/10.

@lacking-hydration ‘s design: This one reminds me of a classic Disney film/Saturday morning cartoon villain. Love that for her. 10/10.

@opthedragon ‘s design: This one is so silly. She’s so small! But that only works to her benefit. I really like how emotive this one is, despite having a potato for a head. 11/10.

i tried for a well thought out post. instead you get this mess that i’m begging you not to twist:

the outraged cries of “cliques” are people being actual friends with each other. the people complaining about certain blogs or creators being on pedestals are usually the same people putting them there. i’m not one to belittle feelings - i understand where the upset is coming from. i even understand my place in it! but at the end of the day, we’re working ourselves up over what? notes? followers? hits on a fic? things based on luck and timing??

i can only speak for myself, but i work a full time job and i’m hard scheduled 45 hours a week. all of my free time goes towards fic writing, because that’s For Me and that’s what’s important for my mental health, and even then, i am usually too exhausted to do that. i would love to read fic and interact more! my to-read list is a mile long! it is just genuinely hard for me to find the time. i prioritize my friends because they are my friends — real, actual people i know beyond tumblr mutualship, who i talk to about more than just fic writing — and even then i am late getting around to it. i’m not saying this as a “woe is me, my life is hard” moment, but moreso trying to offer a perspective that is not even being thought of. and i get it, no one wants to hear it, because you’re frustrated, and being vocal about frustration feels nice (i know, bc here i am)!!

someone is going to come for my throat for making this post as a “big author” and “part of the clique we’re all vagueing” and maybe it’s juuuuust me but like. if you’re that unhappy, log off. if seeing a friend group you’re not part of interacting makes you unhappy, log off. if seeing the engagement other people get on their posts or fic or art makes you unhappy, log off. you cannot force people to interact with you or your creative work, and aggressively posting about it when they don’t is not inviting them to. i am begging you to stop having expectations of people you do not know, because at the end of the day, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

"I put this together based off a concept for an apothecary costume" might have been making a reference to a specific job class in Various Daylife. I looked it up a little and found one called "Herbalist" that might match, but I'm not super familiar with the game myself, so I wasn't 100% sure about it.

someone brought up the idea that it might be marika there Post Placidusax (placidusax is called First Elden Lord whos god abandoned him) and not miquella and honestly. god. they fucking would

itd tie a lot together. a previous leak/comment about the dlc mentioning wed see hourah loux's badlands (marika meeting him pre godfrey), torrent (marika having torrent then leaving the spirit steed calling whistle for ranni or melina, linking to rannis dialogue where she hands over the bell and then wonders if wed grow tired of listening to the two fingers), cementing an appearance theme among her golden scions (the long golden hair and circle of braids that we see on miquella and the Possibly Godwyn statue in the haligtree), why shes seemingly in some version of limgrave (the tall grasses usually used to visually demonstrate the wind, which limgraves known for. the placement of the erdtree and the ruins which litter limgrave. limgrave being used as the poster child for ER adverts) as shed be ascending towards the soon to be erdtree

itd be easier to show the world Pre Golden Order than Post Your Playthru Ending, and its the exact bait and switch from loves to pull, knowing that people are pushing HARD for a miquella dlc. so to drop someone who looks almost identical to miquella in a dlc trailer, only to reveal its someone different is exactly their style. plus from looooves their time travel dlcs

hmmmm all of this sounds very compelling too… and I have also heard from elsewhere that it is very typical of From to pull a bait-and-switch with their DLC announcements…

My one thought is that the character in the art has the exact same hairstyle with the exact same braid pattern as Miquella does, a style which no other character wears. So either they’re very deliberately trying to trick us (still possible) or it’s supposed to be Miquella.

Looking at the trees, what I’m seeing is what looks to be the Erdtree in combat with another tree acting as a parasite.

It looks to be gnarled with small spindly growths, growing around the Erdtree and masking its golden light, and consuming its life essence. There’s also some kind of dark particle cloud hovering around it. If the figure is Marika, it’s possible we’re seeing whatever happened to the tree that existed before Marika’s Erdtree? My other thought is that if the figure is Miquella, this growth could be related to Godwyn’s spreading influence… the spindly growths on the parasite tree and the particle cloud remind me visually of deathroot. And we also know that before he was stolen, Miquella was trying to grant Godwyn a true death.

Great point though that the dlc taking place present-day creates some complications for the endings. I’m honestly not sure how that would play out!

Oh I’d gladly keep the discussions going - watching CM for the first time and I have thoughts. I think with Spencer and physical touch he must be starved. I know he’s got his peculiarities but so far even just at s3 they showcase his growth and assuredness in his abilities so with that I feel would come acceptance that from the right person he can give himself over, and as he does with everything else he’ll do it with intent and purpose which could translate to how he kisses

So I was watching/reading AssClass again recently, and my opinions on a lot of things have changed, so here are some updated hot takes 🍵

So you all know I hate the crossdressing jokes, but for the sake of keeping it simple, let’s say Nagisa is ok with his closest friends making them. This still doesn’t make sense imo bc Karma was willing to leave him a year, get creeped out by him, and throughout canon is unwilling to properly communicate with Nagisa. But all of a sudden, he’s a close enough friend to make jokes about crossdressing and feminizing him????? No it doesn’t work that way 😭

Both teams in Civil War are equally valid, now that I think about it more deeply. That said though, I feel like more people should’ve jumped on Karma’s ass and called him out. Bc the way he was acting and his anger just went far past jealousy imo.

One thing about me is that I am a sucker for “feminine” female characters. Ok, like I get that 99% of this fandom loves Rio, Hazama, Hayami, etc. But my heart will always belong to the soft girls like Okuda n Kanzaki

Nagisa is actually such an interesting character and I love him now. But I feel like he’s popular for the worst reasons :(

Terasaka was extremely pivotal in grounding Nagisa’s humanity and morality, not just in Island arc but throughout the whole series.

I want to really like Maehara x Okano, but honestly it hurts in an irl sense 💔 Like the whole vibe of not being given the importance of being desired as an actual girlfriend, rather than a fling or friend :( I feel bad for Okano, and she deserves better than that.

Korosensei and Aguri did love each other, but I can’t label it as a typical “romantic” kind of love. I feel like it went so much deeper than that, like soul bonding or something. I think they both had immense impact on each other, and that’s what’s most significant about their bond.

I really don’t wanna sound like the judgey type, you know. To each their own. But some of the ships and relationship ideas some ppl in this fandom have, make me wonder if we watched/read the same series.

I always used to talk about how Kayano was robbed, and I’ll keep saying it. She deserved to be a more fully fleshed out female character. And this means accepting her very real flaws, not making her a “girlboss” or throwing her under the bus for the sake of ships.

Karma is one of the more selfless characters in AssClass, and I feel like in this sense, he and Nagisa are two sides of the same coin.

Sugino is Nagisa’s bestie, periodt.

Nakamura gets on my nerves at times lmao. I’m sorry, but I think it’s just her vibe. I’m not a fan of irl ppl like her

Maehara is just as bad as Okajima. In a sense, he might be even worse given that he sees dating girls and cheating in a commodified lens. Don’t forget it just bc he’s conventionally attractive lmfao 💀

The final takeover of the mountain is one of the best arcs in the whole series, no cap. It does an even better job than Civil War in granting 3-E equal attention, showcasing their skills, and displaying the found family that’s been built. And Nagisa and Karma’s high-five while Terasaka yells at them is adorable.
