Lou Zhen Jie/Seven Blasphemous Deaths - Another canon ship, this time between a nihilist ex-monk and his evil sword wife. I love that this show asks "Would you really love her if she was a worm a sexy demon lady?" and LZJ's response is "HELL NO". They deserve each other.

Lin Xue Ya/Xiao Kuang Jun - These two fucked at least once in S2, I don't make the rules. How else am I supposed to read Xiao pinning Lin to a bed followed by an immediate cut away, and him leading Lin around the countryside on a leash? There was motive and opportunity, and it's a punishment for both of them for wildly different reasons.

Lang Wu Yao/Xiao Kuang Jun - Remember, Xiao was the one to "discover" Lang and was his first patron at the Xi You court. Make what you will of this.

Lang Wu Yao/Chao Feng - Adding sex to their canon relationship would change almost nothing, but since when has the yandere murder princess ever cared about ethics and boundaries?

Lang Wu Yao/Xing Hai - A crackship for now, but you never know… they were last seen in each other's company.

Xie Ying Luo/Therapy - This woman is not ready for a relationship right now, she needs to find herself and make better life choices. Talking to Di Kong does NOT count!!

do i even need to explain this one? loyal to a fault, just a cute lil puppy, one hell of a sculpted archers back, and he's head over heels in love with Xie Lian (but tbh same) i have a lot of thoughts about him on a daily basis on this blog (and also theres the #fx backstory au tag)

2. Noé Archiviste (the Case Study of Vanitas)

the absolute bestest boy of EVER... with a LOAD of unprocessed trauma (yknow the typical stuff like seeing your childhood bff get decapitated in front of you) and a lot more to come once we find out how he kills his boyfriend best friend, Vanitas...

look... theres *gojo girlies* uwu and then theres GOJO GIRLIES... i couldn't give 2 shits about how he's fan-serviced (tho im not complaining) but have you SEEN the amount of grief pumped into that man? he could explode in a fit of fucking insanity at literally any moment and take the whole goddamn world down with him bc what happened with suguru WASNT FAIR to him and satoru has more than enough power to go apeshit... but he DOESN'T... even after losing so many of his co-sorcerers... he still puts on a brave face to the end in order to protect the childhood of his students even tho his own youth was stolen from him during hidden inventory...

10. Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan)

i read the manga during my last year of uni and when i tell you i SOBBED at the end... yes ofc for obvious reasons, but mostly bc my little Levi loses EVERYTHING. He is the SOLE survivor of the veteran scouts. He's missing multiple fingers, an eye, and the ability to walk. He was the strongest (yowaimo) but wasn't even granted the mercy to die at the end of his narrative! Broke my fucking heart.

I searched and I'm pretty sure it was either Feminisms with Chinese Characteristics, edited Ping Zhu and Hui Faye Xiao, or Women, Gender, and Sexuality in China by Ping Yao (can't find the correct link). I have not read either yet, due to not being able to find a reasonably priced or free version or a copy at the library.

I also really recommend reading Once Iron Girls ( i can send my copy) which is a collection of essays

I've heard mixed things about Fan Hong's Footbinding, Feminism and Freedom: The Liberation of Women's Bodies in Modern China, but that might be of interest as well.

Over the past -- 2 years? year? -- the translated works of Japanese feminist Chizuko Ueno have been incredibly popular in China, so I think reading her works might be good to understand what a lot of Chinese feminists are reading & discussing right now.

Synopsis :

This show tells the story of Xiang Yun, a fairy of the Moon Elder Pavilion, and Chou Kong, a disciple of the Star King of Mouri, who were sent down to the mortal world by the Jade Emperor to experience seven lifetimes of love. Xiang Yun (played by Yang Chaoyue) was originally a cloud, but was later transformed into a fairy by the Moon God and worked in the Moon God's Court. The two of them quarreled and accidentally messed up the red rope, leading to a marriage chaos in the three worlds. The Jade Emperor found out about it and punished them both for going through seven lives of love before they could return to the heavenly realm, and the story began from there.

My thoughts on this drama :

Tale as old as time….No, this is not another beauty and the beast drama, but the sentence is fitting. The drama's title is apt and sums up the story pretty well. Two soulmates, bound by fate, forced to go through several "tribulations"/"incarnations" and in so doing finding out the grand truth of the past.

I won't comment too much on the cast. They did their job, the performance is like it or hate it, but they made it work. One thing though: our hero's big bro had one of the most amazing voices i've ever heard. I don't know if he was dubbed or if it's his real voice but wow. Gave me chills every time he spoke!

I give a 9/10 for the costumes and sceneries. It's dreamlike and pure Xianxia. It fed my fantasy loving heart very well.

At the microbiological level, life can be described as belonging to one of three kingdoms — how species are described in relation to one another. Eukarya contains complex organisms like animals and plants and microorganisms such as fungi. The other two categories, bacteria and archaea, are comprised only of microorganisms.
