The cafe event has gotten me into a polynxx mood lately... Just them getting along together, them praising Vyn for his desserts, Marius who keeps asking for Artem's meals, Vyn & Luke making their dishes match eachother like dear god and them just making sure that Rosa is alright while she's walking all over the place as a waitress!!! Your honor, this is my silly polyamorous investigation group!!!

I'm just finding sm comfort in thinking about them right now spending lots of time together and I can't help but get a stupidly big grin on my face.

Bc they're together a lot (not only in the event but as a team in general) I wonder whether they start noticing eachother's weird or silly little habits (i.e. pretending that they're interrogating and waterboarding someone while pushing dirty dishes down into some soapy water). Or even nice little things they do for eachother (i.e. something like peeling an orange for someone while they're on break).

hi hi creckar!!! and gosh mood about this whole event, im enjoying it so much and it's definitely giving me polyam nxx vibes too hHHHHHHHHH. the entire intro scene was so lighthearted entertaining but also so sweet (im never getting over marius calling the others his friends, THEYRE FRIENDS, YOUR HONOR!!!!) and that bit with artem openly praising vyn's cooking and vyn responding by laughing oh my gosh my heart fluttered, THESE PEOPLE ENJOY EACH OTHER'S COMPANY I LOVE THEM AND THEY ALL LOVE EACH OTHER AND //puts on shipping goggles, ARE ALSO IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER

speaking of being in love with stuff, im in love with ur hc in this ask. they so totally would notice each other's habits because 1) aforementioned THEY CARE ABT EACH OTHER SO MUCH and 2) theyre all just naturally very perceptive people, in regards to how much they can realize and note about others.

little things like how mc writes down orders in a certain manner on her notepad, or how luke hums to himself when hes making drinks, or how artem gets this focused glint in his eyes whenever hes in the zone cooking, or how vyn uses his lunch break to take a nap first and foremost before having a munch, or the irony of marius loving ice cream but being very susceptible to brainfreezes. all these little details compound and are noticed, but in a very casual way. it's like getting to know more about each other without even having to speak or talk. im sure once this cafe thing is over, they both know more than they realize about the other team members

i also like to think that some habits get Adopted. like yknow how when people are close, they adopt some habits or quirks of the ones theyre close with? yeah now everybodys little quirks are The NXX Team's Collective Quirks. our quirks now. so sometimes you'll find vyn humming when hes working, or artem trying out mc's notetaking system. sadly, nobody can take the burden of marius' brainfreezes for him though

all in all, im super loving this event, it's so cozy and cute and fun!!! now if only luke's SR card would reveal itself to me early, thatd really make this event perfect.....LHSVFLSD

hello im here to talk about lupin eating dirt (this was originally a scrapped concept i gave for one of dukeswonderousmenagerie's aus, ty loopspoop for giving idea fuel teehee)

tw for body horror and the concept of bugs living inside someone's body

ok SO this anomaly is literally just. brainworms KJHJGH it kinda functions how the curse influencing does but just. worse bc its slowly taking over their brain (and everything else) JKHGJFH it works in stages (using lupin as the example for it)

first stage he just seems kinda sick, he sleeps longer, spaces out n forgets what hes doing more often and generally has less energy

second stage hes exhausted really and spends most of his time in bed (since his body is trying to fight the entity off as if it was an infection or smthn so that really saps his energy) he gets really spacey, like so unfocused that half the time he doesnt even respond when being talked to. despite this he will occasionally get up and be found just. standing in corners staring at nothing or be found wide awake at night just laying there in the dark with his eyes wide open

then theres a small space between the second and third stage where hes p much in a coma for 1-3 days while the entity fully takes over

and then in stage three hes completely gone and the spooky behavior ramps up teehee his eyes are glazed over and lifeless, he cant talk aside from quiet humming noises, he'll scratch at his skin until he bleeds n often scratches at walls n other surfaces until his nails break, and he seems to just. develop pica out of nowhere he'll literally go outside at like 4 am and start digging into the ground with his bare hands and eat handfuls of dirt, then later puke up an odd mix of blood, live worms, anything else he mightve eaten and the aforementioned dirt.

the live worms are the interesting part, bc if he did happen to eat any, theyd be dead from either chewing or yknow. stomach acid. no the worms he pukes up are literally the ones that took over his brain, like. theyre breeding inside him and infesting his other organs and turning him into a (barely) living nest. the ones infesting his stomach just happen to get puked up with the random stuff he eats

in less than a week after entering the third stage the worms are infesting literally every single organ in his body, theyre nesting inside his lungs, intestines and even his heart. theyre even managing to get into his veins

when jigen finally puts him out of his misery, the worms seemingly panic and leave his corpse in mass. the sight of what seems like thousands of worms crawling out of lupin's mouth, nose and even escaping via the bullet wound almost makes jigen sick

luckily all of the worms leave before lupin revives so he isnt infected again, but they still move to a different hideout since jigen is pretty sure the worms had gotten into the walls-

Off topic but I've actually only ever made two proper ocxcc ships with lore and planning in them (the first being my genshin one and the second being jipunk which was THIS year (had my genshin one for TWO YEARS which is crazy) so the fact I'm making another shows how much this man is affecting my mental state rn

But it also means I still love my other ships very much so 🎉🎉🎉 even if I don't draw it as much cause I can't focus on two things LOLOL

ANYWAYS ONTO THE ACTUAL POST

I said this on my story but the concept was like, a seperate setting bc I'm toooo dumb to understand jjk lore

AND, this is rlly dumb, THE WHOLE REASON BEHIND THIS SHIP IS BC I JUST WANNA CREATE A CHARACTER FOR HIM TO LOVE,,, (CHOSOYUKI IS CUTE BUT I NEED A DIFFERENT VIBE TO SATISFY MY DESIRE TO SEE THIS MAN HAPPY)

but yeah bc of that their dynamic is like

aloof and reserved individual who doesn't quite understand the concept of love outside of the familial one and is actually quite hesitant and shy abt it x a strange but kind person who slowly teaches him the aforementioned concept

Ok so the idea of how it goes is like choso randomly wakes up in a place

And this is highkey spoilers for like the 'endgame' of this but I'm never gonna make an actual plot sooo (plus I need to explain this before I sound insane)

The inspiration is like Elysian Fields (bit obsessed w this recently, I drew a jipunk piece abt this too) and ITS ALL CAUSE OF CHOSOS NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE IN THE MANGA AND WE'RE ALL FREAKING OUT ABT IT

But yes he wakes up in an unfamiliar field in an unfamiliar place but he's strangely calm about it (dunno why he is but I'll get back to thinking abt it later) but he spots this house in the distance and naturally he goes to it

And so he would meet haruko who's a little strange because she has no last name and isn't bothered by the fact that one. She lives in the middle of absolutely nowhere, and two. That he just shows up

She's even like "oh I haven't had visitors in a long while ☺️"

Aaannnd then cue a slow burn slice of life romance im gonna force them to have bc ASHBBENBKKKRMENJ SLOWBURN AGAGG cause there's no way someone like him is falling at first sight (imo anyways)

(Just a fun fact I fell asleep after writing this part and then woke up again HAHDHS it was 2 am.)

But yeah the situation is literally just the forced proximity trope where it's "oh I have to live with this stranger while I try to understand wtf is going but oh no I appear to have slowly fallen in love"

I just want someone to be nice :(( and kind :(( to him :((((( hold his hand pls and be so nice and gentle w his heart cause he's new at this :((((((((

Thinking abt how it's a slow burn is making me crazy rn cause it means we have a lot of stolen glances AHEGGEFGGG and like getting nervous HHHRGGGGRHH and shyness YYYRYYHGGRHHH and it's mostly all from choso cause I love it when a man falls harder 🔥🔥

Brumsy headcanons ?

They never actually date each other, Brainy is too anxious and repressed by it. They have this weird relationship that blurs the lines between romantic and platonic.

Re: the previous bullet point- to quote something I said on December 29th, 2021, i ship brainy and clumsy but my headcanons have changed over time and now its like. a not-entirely-romantic-but-also-yes-romantic thing. "we're best friends" they say. the smurf who walked in on them making out yesterday looks into the camera like he's on the office. clumsy starts dating someone else but that doesnt stop him from Totally Platonically kissing and holding hands w brainy and doing other couple things except, no, they're totally platonic so it's not couple things. this may be because of brainy's severe anxiety about romance, and clumsy's obliviousness, and the fact that for a while none of them had any other friends. the two of them are super overtly romantic with each other but brainy's like "okay but this is platonic" and clumsys like "okay brainy my love! whatever u say ^-^"

This isn't really a headcanon but I just wanna say, their relationship is kind of dysfunctional and codependent and not entirely healthy. I used to deny this aspect of their relationship but now I like to explore it, it's more interesting this way. They got that Fionna And Cake ver of Simon and Betty energy. Clumsy does whatever Brainy wants and gives up everything to please Brainy. Brainy is unaware of this and unintentionally takes advantage of Clumsy's giving nature.

To quote something I said on July 24, 2023, I think Brainy and Clumsy should be intimate but not as a euphemism just in like the literal sense like. Yknow. Theyve been best friends for ages, the line between partner and best friend has been blurred, and they're just like. Comfortable around each other. Close and friendly and personal and telling each other things theyd never tell anyone else. Acting like a married couple before they're even dating. Getting ready for bed- "hey clumsy your nightgown is on backwards"- "whoops"- and then clumsy tries to take off his nightgown and gets stuck and brainy has to help him get it off and then back on the right way. they dont give a shit bc at some point it stops mattering. Brainy has nightmares a lot but when he sleeps with Clumsy theyre not as common, bc he lays his head on Clumsy's chest and Clumsy's heartbeat is calming.

My version of Clumsy is taller than Brainy. Brainy will sometimes call him "My little [insert affectionate term here]" and Clumsy will be confused and be like, "But, Brainy, I'm not little! I'm taller than you!"

Clumsy loves saying "I love you" to Brainy. This started because he thought Brainy's flustered reaction to his first "I love you" was adorable, but now he'll take any opportunity to tell Brainy he loves him.

They are literally soulmates.

They became friends at a young age because neither of them really had any other friends.

Brainy writes Clumsy love letters. Clumsy has difficulty reading (I headcanon him as being nearsighted and also having dyslexia) so it's hard for him to read, but he reads the letters anyways. It takes him a while because of said aforementioned nearsightedness and dyslexia, and also because he's easily flustered and keeps having to stop because he gets overwhelmed, but he finishes reading them eventually.

My Smurfs have a weird fae-speech thing where they're simultaneously speaking multiple languages at once, and only other fae can notice this. Everyone else just perceives it as their native language. Anyways, Clumsy calls Brainy "Lulu" as a pet name, which is a shortening of Brainy's French name "Schtroumpf à Lunettes."

autistic & like really bad at social cues

gets easily overwhelmed when around a lot of people so if she is around a lot of people (see- tcg final & decked out opening) she hides and like hangs around to be involved but doesnt actually take part just watches

on the aroace spectrum

being a hybrid herself shes really interested in how other hybrids work/feel etc so she has a notebook with random facts shes picked up from hanging out w the other hermits (she rarely asks outright abt anything Unless theres a theory that she really wants to know is true or not, or if its tango)

has some issues w self esteem (which tango & impulse didnt know when they did their silly bit for the moonlight 'auditions' and it made zed feel rlly bad but they all talked abt it and became fast friends after that)

grew up in a hardcore world which is part of the reason she loves doing fun experiments pertaining to deaths (there were some a lot of panic attacks after deaths the first few times she died and every time theres a new season of hc and she dies theres still always some panic even though she knows & trusts that everything is set up fine but yknow growing up in a hardcore world does shit)

^ in relation to that only skizz, tango, and impulse know abt that fact bc zed doesnt wanna tell anyone else and the only reason those guys know is bc of the aforementioned panic attacks

doesnt join in w the life series games bc of the actual dying even though she doed think it would be fun and silly and shed get to see skizz more and have fun w her friends

her & skizz are somehow the closest pair outta team zits and hang out w each other even when the others arent there, she spent a lot of the time when the hermits went to empires just hanging w skizz instead

ok ok I'm doing the silly and. talking abt my writing and showing parts of it and you gotta promise not to judge me and even if you find it cringe keep it to yourself pls be nice to me i am very sensitive!!!!!! anyway.

(tw for general depressing shit, mentions of death and implied csa near the end) (also this got so long I'm so sorry)

so the latest song(?) i wrote is called קלף טאקי בשולחן פוקר which is a reference to a local meme lol. i think i mentioned it before but if you missed it, it roughly translates to "uno card at a poker table". i think you can already guess what the topic of the song is. i actually wrote it after months of not writing anything and it felt like some of the grime on my brain was scrubbed off god bless

i have a file of a bunch of lines i come up with and don't know where to put yet and some of them are actually lifted from vent posts i make here and. this song was the first time i used smth from that file!! yippee!!!!

anyway i am not posting the whole thing bc my rhyming is. not good but I'll post some of my favorite parts in it i think. starting with

the lines the song opens with! originally it was called "unfit" (this word will come later too) but i wanted to get silly with it, hence the meme reference

speaking of references, that second line is one, to "avalanche" by bring me the horizon. great depression song go listen to it if you haven't yet. i kept thinking abt that line while writing and eventually i went "sure why not, may as well pay a tiny homage to one of my fav bands ever"

these are the opening lines of the second verse^

ik the length of the first one is a bit much compared to others and esp the first verse (see above), but this is one of the lines i grabbed from the aforementioned collection file and i was too attached to it to change it. i feel like once there's music and shit it might solve this

anyway i feel like here it's clearer what the topic actually is (the chorus also helps, but we'll get to that later) - having to be fake and pretending to be someone else in order for people to like you. the song wasn't originally supposed to be abt that but ngl most of what i write eventually comes to this lol (i think i have at least 3 other pieces about this oof <- joker kinnie)

this one!!!!! is a reference!!!!! to a play i liked as a teen and used a monologue from multiple times in acting school (everyone in the class loved the way i did it and asked me to keep using it in stuff and who am i to say no), dentity crisis by christopher durang!! it's about, well, identity crises lol, and eventually the main character loses herself trying to make sense of the people around her and the chaos of her life so naturally it felt like a fitting reference to make, esp with the whole theater theme

this is the. i wanna say bridge but idk all the right terminology oof. like the part before the final chorus+outro.

i think you might've picked up by now that this is a bit of a silly, somewhat sarcastic song on some level, hence the improv line lmao

when i hear this part in my head it's very dramatic, lots of belting like a broadway showstopper, mixed with some. almost spoken, yet still sing-song-y lines

and here the whole theater motif really picks up the pace too. honestly this one appears in a lot of my writing for obvious reasons, but it's especially fitting when the song is literally about pretending to be someone else in order to be loved

the game thing peeks its head in the first chorus which we will get into in a sec, but either way i think it goes hand in hand. games are often abt getting into the shoes of another character yknow? and there's a whole play on the word, well, play lol. and how it's both for games and for acting (in my first language we straight up don't have another word like "act". it's just the same as play and that's it. so maybe it works better in my head for that reason idk!)

music wise i imagine in the last 2~ lines the beat starts to slow down, the notes become a bit higher, every syllable is drawn out for a bit longer, and in "stops" there's a short pause before the final chorus comes in. speaking of!

yeah showing each of them separately would've been a bit too cringey even for me. i don't think they're good as standalones BUT i like them together paralleling each other. it's smth i like to do in almost every song i write tbh, and very often i switch between "i" "you" and "we" as the song keeps going, to sort of draw the listener/reader in and let them become a part of the "narrative" if they want to and relate to it hehe. kind of make them (and me) feel less alone in this feeling

second chorus talking abt masks is once again smth i put in a lot of what i write (<- joker kinnie. again) askflglg sorry for not being original it will happen again 👍 but what can i say, it's relevant to the topic!!

in the last one i tried adding some sense of urgency. a reminder that this comes after the build up of the bridge, so it'll either be more intense or more quiet. haven't decided yet.

"maybe one day I'll fit" goes with the original "unfit" idea. bc at the end of the day this is what it's all about yknow? gotta make up a humansona and constantly roleplay as it to get through.

and through that "maybe one day" sentiment I'll slide into the outro. it's less sung than it is spoken sing-songly and dramatically to the beat (speaking of, i imagine a slight key change by now, as well as the music itself becoming more chaotic and intense and messy for this part), so i didn't bother much with rhyming or a steady pace heh

i mean. can it really be something i wrote without at least one reference to death and/or being a slut (<- dazai kinnie).

actually ironically "better die as myself than be loved as a character" might be my favorite line in the whole thing bc. well as i said the song is sarcastic. in its essence it's about being TIRED of pretending to be someone else. it's about how it's not something you actually want, you only want its benefits. but eventually, at the end of the song, you're just too tired to keep it up. all shows have to end eventually. and, this connects back to the first chorus - "maybe one day I'll be myself", kind of implying this one day might be in death, since all of life is pretending (only good vibes and fun on this blog ♡)

but. not dead yet. and i still want the benefits. so better find an alternative! nobody needs to know who you are if you've got tits they can touch! - is what i learned growing up and as a teen it never failed me lol.

so, the song ends with finally taking off the mask, but. taking off everything else in the process as well. all for being wanted, or the pretense of being loved, because that's the only thing that matters 👌

juls my baby haha you deserve so much better 😭 some random factoids about juls: she loves the color yellow (has a yellow phone case, yellow amp, yellow guitar—you get the idea) bc of a near death experience in her childhood involving a yellow elevator. if i say anymore it’s spoilers but she holds that color close for a reason lol. she’s also very bi. the narrative does focus a lot on her attraction to joaquin (bc he’s hot like 😭) but i know from Meta she is attracted to pretty much all the friends she has except rene bc rene has a gf and he’s not really her type lmao. but saul, andres, daisy & joaquin she’s 👀. honestly when i write draft two i think im gonna try to make it More obvious that she’s attracted to all of them lol. in the “it never happened” au they’re a polycue to me. she adores her older sister juvia and would fight tooth and nail for her, but she has an estranged relationship from both of her parents. her original goal at the start of the book is to become a famous recording artist but her dream quickly shifts to i just want to be a one hit wonder. make one great song, get money and fame, then disappear from the public eye. she’s both headstrong and cowardly at the same time—just a girl full of juxtapositions lol

san 🤌🏾🤌🏾 SHE. so, san is a hunter—hunters are the first specialized fighting class that ever came into being in terrae (came about around 450-470 but i cant be assed to pull out the timeline rn) as a response to the decimation and overrun of the first capital city of terrae, argos. hunters are very proud of their heritage and it’s pretty unusual for them to enter guilds but san (and her sister moira by proxy) are some of the few exceptions. hunters are ALL ABOUT DAMAGE BABY. armor? who needs that we die like men. they tend to wear revealing, hardly armored clothes made of leather and hides, decorated with furs, spikes and belts (this goes for all genders—it came about bc when hunters came into being there was a huuuuge shortage on materials to make armor so they just went without and it’s become a tradition at this point). san herself uses a short sword and a whip, usually in tandem. she’s the youngest of the mc bunch, and it kind of shows in her temper 😅. she has a huge grudge against her elder sister (aforementioned moira) and hates being seen as weak. she’s very argumentative and untrusting, which isn’t unusual for someone from eros however san does take it to an extreme. it does eventually mellow out for her as she learns to trust her team but MAN she has them all going through it for awhile lmao

chidorkyyyyy. i’ve rambled about him so much already tbh lol but something i do wanna draw attention to is despite how fun loving, energetic, clumsy etc that he is, he’s extremely good at his job as a train master. it’s like he was born for it in many ways. i get the whole thing of having mcs who are incompetent bc they have to learn and they’re underdogs but i don’t really want that for chidorky? like he’s quite skilled and it’s hard to tell Why bc he’s never done this before yknow! he also has great chemistry with his weapon, torment, which is embedded with cool ass glowing pink gems btw. but i haven’t figured out the entire weapon system i just know it’s one of those “your weapon chooses you” situations. he can be very serious when he needs to be and it throws people off guard tho basically lol

Aren't u tired of the "Taika hates tom" thing? I don't think its tom. Taika just doesn't like the british

(Sorry anon, I started to answer this last week and then completely forgot about it until last night, bc I was thinking about Tom's apparent lack of attendance at the London Thor 4 premiere.)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't think I ever got invested in any of the "does Taika like Tom y/n?" wank in the first place. I mean, I'm sure I've been snarky about it, but it's not something I gave a great deal of thought or speculation to.

There's a real issue of lack of ability to separate the person from the work, both in fandom and in life. This is not an issue that's limited to just one side of the wank or even just this fandom (I mean, the whole ideology of purity culture stems from the belief that one cannot separate reality from fiction and therefore fiction depicting Certain Things is inherently ~problematic~ and immoral, but that's another conversation), but it's an issue that is at the root of the "Taika vs. Tom" wank.

By that, what I mean is that my perception of Ragnarok is that Taika was, at best, dismissive of Loki as a character and, at worst, actively disliked him. His comments about Loki being a wannabe goth or emo space orphan or whatever, his "jokes" about Loki getting locked in a porta-potty, etc (deleted, but still scripted and filmed) are indicative, I feel, of an overall sense of disdain toward the character - perhaps coupled with a vested interest in actively making Thor look better to compensate for Loki overshadowing Thor in the previous films.

Now, whether or not Taika actually feels that way or if that's just, like, his sense of humor, man is impossible to say; all I can do is speculate based on the evidence presented (ie, the aforementioned comments and deleted scenes).

^^ This is just my opinion, I'm not asking anyone to agree with me or stating that these are definitive facts. What I'm saying, though, is that I am certainly not the only person to have this opinion and when viewing Taika's personal feelings behind-the-scenes through the "ugh, Loki" sort of lens he's put out there, it's very easy to fall into the assumption that Taika dislikes or hates Tom, or that Taika and his bff Chris were sort of "conspiring" against Tom to ensure he/Loki didn't steal the show again, etc. when that may not be the case at all.

We don't know. We don't know what these people's feelings are - we can parse things from what they say publicly, but even public statements are filtered for, yknow, consumption by the public and aren't necessarily 100% factual, either. Additionally, we don't know what happens behind-the-scenes, we don't know what happens in negotiations and what happens once the execs get their hands on the product or who's ultimately responsible for what, and how. And this is the case for all entertainment, not just the Thor franchise and not just Marvel.

When you're enmeshed in fandom, it's easy to let the lines between person and product get blurred; it's easy to get so invested in these people that we feel like we know them - we're on a "first name basis" irt how we refer to them, their lives and their work is on public display, and we are increasingly living in a world that wants to categorize everything as black or white. All of which makes wank like "Taika hates Tom" flourish. (And, incidentally, is what makes the anti "anyone involved with the Loki series" wank flourish in its spaces, as well, like for example how some people prefer to believe Mike Waldron or whomever made a shitty series bc he had a personal vendetta against Loki bc of Reasons, rather than believe what is more likely the truth: dude's a mediocre writer and part of a larger team that set out to explore the character in ways that are inconsistent with previous characterization [which is kind of the point, though, in that the whole premise is Loki as a variant; I digress] and regardless of the fans' emotional responses, the motivation is Not That Deep.)

Which was an awful lot of word vomit to basically say yes, I am tired of the "Taika hates Tom" thing but in my defense I didn't put much stock in it in the first place; however, I understand where it came from and why it's still a Thing in this fandom, so it just ... it is what it is.

As for Taika not liking the British, well, I'm pretty sure that's an entirely separate conversation but also, again, this is an assumption of Taika's feelings based on limited interpretation of his public words and action and whether or not it has any merit is anyone's guess.

Incidentally, all of that aside, no one has to like anyone else. Sometimes people just don't vibe and neither side is wrong for that. So make of that what you will, too.

To say he is excited would be an understatement.

When Jimin found out you, his favorite youtuber, were coming to his city for a fan meet… he lost it. He remembers the moment with a lot of precision - he was helping Hoseok set the table and the topic came up.

“Did you buy your tickets?” Hoseok asked nonchalantly as if Jimin would know what he was talking about.

“Uh… what are we talking about?” Jimin replied, folding the napkins and putting them next to each plate.

When he noticed Hoseok going still, he went still, too. Just as he was about to repeat the question, the aforementioned man pulled his phone out and went straight to their group chat, scrolling until he found what he was looking for.

DANCING WITH MYSELF, Y/N, THE FAN MEETS.

Scanning the picture as fast as he could, he realized Hoseok was showing him that because your team had published the dates for the upcoming fan meets, and the one for his city was… in three days?!

Fuck. He had to be fast. Continuing his scan to see if there was any information about where the tickets were being sold, he saw the link at the bottom of the picture; he left the room to grab his computer, praying to every god out there that he could still have a chance to buy tickets. He heard Hoseok yell “you’re welcome, brat!”, but he didn’t pay any attention to it.

His fingers missed some of the keys, making him waste more minutes than he would have liked. Once he was inside the website, he clicked everywhere he had to, typed the digits of his card number, read the information twice to make sure he was buying the right thing. And boom, he was getting an email confirming his purchase for this Friday.

Only then was he able to register the sound of Namjoon yelling at him, asking him to go downstairs because everyone was starving and waiting for him. Putting on his best poker face, he walked downstairs and sat down, clearing his throat as if nothing had happened. He grabbed a piece of chicken, served it on his plate, and cut into it. However, the two pairs of eyes on him made him feel uneasy, so he covered his mouth and asked a shy “what?”.

“The fuck do you mean what?” Namjoon mocked him, passing him the rice. “Did you or did you not get the tickets to see your wife?!”

“First of all, she is not my wife… but yes I did!” Jimin exclaimed, banging his fist against the table repeatedly.

Both Namjoon and Hoseok hollered, discussing all the details with Jimin. The youngest couldn’t stop daydreaming about the moment, the day he would finally get to meet you.

And that’s where he finds himself now, standing in line, trying to not gawk at you. The way your sincere, bright smile is making his heart ache doesn’t go unnoticed by him, but he swallows it down the closer he gets to being the next one who gets to talk to you. Jimin makes a mental run-through of all the things he wanted to say to you, knowing he only had 8 minutes to do so, and let you speak too.

When the person before him gets their turn, he grabs his phone and lets the eight minutes run on the timer. It takes a lot of effort to not be checking the time constantly - the minutes do pass a lot faster than he thought they would. That seemed to be a good thing until he started questioning his minutes. Would he get to say everything he wanted? What if he doesn’t talk at all and lets you do it?

A snap pulls him out of his thoughts, looking at the staff member that is letting him know his turn is one minute away from starting. Shaking his head and body, trying to get rid of the anxiety, he runs a hand through his locks to tame his hair - which looked perfect, but the boy felt like a mess right now - and walks to where you are, behind the table. Why do you have to look so perfect? He looks at his shoes and inhales deeply, looking back at you with a smile on his face. Clearing his throat so he could greet you, your words beat him to it.

“Can’t believe a darling like you is nervous to meet me.”

Jimin, your eight minutes are running, say something! He mentally scolds himself and scrunches his nose, trying to ignore the burning feeling on his cheeks.

“You’re my inspiration, Y/N. How am I supposed to not be nervous? I do not wanna screw this up…” Jimin mentions, opening his bag and pulling a knitted dancer doll out, setting it on the table. “I-I’m Jimin. I got this for you - picked this outfit in specific because that was what you were wearing in the video I found you with.”

“That video will always be one of my favorites, you know? It was a breakthrough for me, helped me decide what I wanted to do with my channel. It started as dance tips, covers… but when things started going downhill for me and had to part ways with my dance studio, I told myself ‘speak about it, help others who might be in your position or need to remember the only person they should try to please with their dancing should be themselves’. And I’m so happy I did,” you confess, grabbing the doll and hugging it with one arm.

“Besides being a dancer and finding your tips very, very useful,” Jimin begins, shooting you a wink, slowly getting rid of that shy persona that was enclosing him, “you helped me through a rough patch where I was losing my passion, forgetting why I even started dancing. Finding you was a gift.”

With a small pout, you reach out for Jimin’s hand and give it a tight squeeze, rubbing his knuckles with your thumb. Looking at your wrist, he notices a gleam in your eyes before you reach to untie a bracelet from your wrist and hand it to him.

“Here, have this, Jimin. I have another one at home. But don’t tell anyone I gave it to you, okay? It will be our little secret. You got me a precious doll and some words I will carry with me forever, I got you this.” With a giggle, you close his hand around the bracelet since he can’t stop staring at it dumbfounded.

The warmth of your hand snaps him out of his trance and he pulls out his phone, opening the camera app.

“My eight minutes are almost over, can we take a selfie? I will show my wrist and you can show the doll?” He suggests, shyness coating his words.

Once you agree, he turns around so the angle of the picture isn’t awkward and takes the picture, showing it to you. He feels his hands - and heart - go crazy when you suggest taking another one, but doing the same pose together. You both do a peace sign, still with your gifts showing, and Jimin is quick to say his goodbyes and thank you again when the guard walks to him, about to tell him his minutes are up.

The next time Jimin sees you is through a screen. The couches in the living room are pushed back so he can have some space to try the new dance routine you posted a day ago. He gets up from the floor as the computer is set, but sits down again when he notices a familiar “figure” in the background. Is that… no it couldn’t be, could it? Waiting for a clearer frame, he squeals when he realizes the doll he had gifted you could be seen in the background, sitting on a counter.

The smile he carries can’t be erased from his face, and it continues to grow with the sound of your sweet voice guiding him through the steps of this new routine, praising and encouraging every person behind the screen even if you can’t see them.

By the time he is done with the routine and has nailed it the way he knows he can only when reaching his full potential, he is starving, stomach growling loudly. Checking his phone, the bright screen telling him it’s 20:05, he goes to his room to retrieve a hoodie and a baseball cap so he can head out. His gut is asking him for a burger with some fries from that place a few blocks away - they make these fresh, unique burgers and their fries are perfectly seasoned, making quality leagues better than what McDonald’s could offer - he wouldn’t trade the food quality.

The night is beautifully serene and clear, a perfect balance between chilly and warm. He lets his memory guide his steps the right way to the restaurant, it soon becomes visible. Getting his wallet out of his pocket, he opens the door and heads inside, going straight to the line. The place is packed for a Tuesday night, fragments of conversations reach his ears but he can’t really understand them, the smell of food invades his nostrils and causes his stomach to growl again, embarrassing enough. The line advances little by little, and the couple in front of him is ordering their food now.

Wait a minute… The voice of the girl in front of him sounds familiar. Extremely familiar.

Said girl turns to look at the man beside her as he makes his order, and that’s when it hits him. It’s you, Y/N. He would prefer it if you turned around so he could actually confirm it, but as a big fanboy, he is 99% sure it is you. The guy who is with you has to be your boyfriend; the way he hugs you while you wait for your receipt says a lot, and you seem comfortable around him. That guy is… tall, handsome, and has a deep voice. But he feels you two look alike, getting a good look at him when you move to the other side of the room to wait for your food.

Well, of course, your boyfriend had to be someone as pretty as you.

The guy behind the register takes Jimin’s order and instructs him to go to the other side of the room - where you are - to wait for his food. He reluctantly walks over there, his mind a twisted mess. He wants you to recognize him, talk to him for a while, see if you are wearing the bracelet. But what if you aren’t wearing it? What if your presumed boyfriend turns out to be a jealous dickhead and caused a scene?

He lets out a quiet groan that apparently is quiet to him only, because you turn around, your expression full of surprise.

“Jimin, is that you?” You ask while discreetly pointing at your wrist knowing only he would understand.

“Oh, Y/N, hi! Nice seeing you have excellent taste in food.”

Jimin points at the menu and then to the receipt in your hand with the arm that has the bracelet on, coyly smiling your way.

“This is my brother, Jake, he suggested this place and decided to give it a try.” You present him, looking at Jimin who is not good at hiding the sigh of relief he emits.

Jake chuckles as he notices the sigh, too. He stretches his arm for Jimin to give him a handshake, and Jimin follows. Jake then takes the receipt out of your hand and goes back to the line when the number on the receipt is called, food hot and ready for you to dig in. You walk closer to him, toying with the beads on the bracelet on his wrist.

“Now that I know Jake is not your boyfriend… would you be up to going out with me someday?”

“Thought the question would never come. But why did you think he was my boyfriend?” You snicker, playfully hitting his shoulder. “Was it the hugs?”

“That, and the fact that you guys look good together. You are both handsome, with great physique… Yeah.” Jimin mumbles the last part, shrugging.

He hears the number on his receipt get called, reminding him of the hunger he is feeling. You follow him to the counter, though, catching him by surprise.

“You flatter me - I can say the same thing about you. However, the physique is not the only thing I’m after. I’m choosing personality a thousand times before looks. So, sure, I’m free later, tomorrow, the day after, any day you want to go.” You lean forward, a pen in hand, and write your phone number on his receipt.

He got your number! His long-time crush gave him her phone number. Yet, as always, you continue to leave him stunned. This time in the shape of a kiss on the cheek, followed by a shy “goodbye” from you.

God. He was going to give you the date of your life.

1. the character everyone gets wrong

ok i can only speak as to what my mercifully small tumblr circles have posted abt regarding general disk course but from what I've seen literally no one understands connor except like. a few mutuals.....I'm always thinking about that interview where keiran culkin says he's terrifying and unpredictable and I think thats brought out a little more every ep hes in and every glimpse we get into his relationship with willa. I think people do get his trauma and why he acts the way he does but also there isn't really much acknowledgement of the actions themselves and the purposeful horror of it all......given how we see the golden trio fight themselves and each other for logan's love, connor is very obviously presented as separate from that and desirous of not playing the family game for love which in reality arises not from a sense of security or superiority but rather resignation bc hes never been considered a contender and never will. the first fucking pancake lol. the trio want to fuck logan or be logan or be WITH logan (all the only ways they can think of to earn his love) but bc those options are eliminated for connor by virtue of who he is he resorts to the seemingly better-adjusted method of trying to outdo only his past self and so Be Somebody. part of this is also willa like i said he's out of the game and buying love is how he deals with that hollow that kendall looks to fill by killing logan (metaphorically), shiv pretends doesn't exist at all, and roman wants filled for him by logan. does this make sense lol i went off into a tangent about Connor's character but its bc I really need ppl to stop seeing him as someone sweet and kind hes quite literally willa's JAILER

2. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

how close roman was/is to shiv!! and all his siblings really. too many ppl see roman as the youngest bc they dont understand roy family dynamics but roman being in the middle is sooo important he and connor relate to each other in their passivity, the intro suggests a fond remembrace of the childhood kendall shared with him, and he and shiv are more familiar and open w each other than either of them are with anyone else which also obviously comes with both playful and real animosity <3 that post thats like. romans everyones favorite sibling. i think more ppl need to talk about his relationship with shiv and how logan wishes roman were a girl and shiv a boy yknow

watched the whole of guillermo del toro's cabinet of curiosities and figured i would make a lil post abt it since i watched the whole thing lol. im gonna put it below a readmore link so i won't annoy ppl with it bc it got sorta long........ this isn't a proper review or anything just my silly lil thoughts. there are minor spoilers below, jsyk

my episode rankings from best to worst + rating out of 5:

1) the murmuring 4.5/5

my overall rating is probably like. 2.5/5. i was hyped up for it bc it's guillermo del toro yknow....... but i was disappointed honestly. it's mediocre overall. if you're gonna watch any of it i would definitely recommend the murmuring and the viewing, but i can't rlly find it in me to recommend the rest LOL.

an overall pattern with the episodes is that they have good build up and atmosphere for the first 30 minutes or so, but completely fail to follow through after that. the two aforementioned episodes are the exception, i rlly liked both of them and felt they delivered well.

a little summary review of the episodes in order:

1) lot 36

lot 36 had great build up and an awesome atmosphere. i liked the set design and the general message of it was really good. however the last few minutes were honestly just. stupid. and i found it a little boring to watch bc the main character was such an asshole it was difficult to relate to him or care abt the fact that he was about to get eaten by a demon. it wasn't bad but it was just sorta eh

2) graveyard rats

this one was honestly more of a silly dark comedy than actual horror imo. but it wasn't really campy or silly enough to hold my attention, so it just straddled this awkward zone between not being scary enough to be horror and not being funny enough to be a dark comedy. it got boring fast, there are only so many minutes of a guy crawling in a tunnel and whimpering you can make me watch before i get tired of it and this episode definitely exceeded that limit LOL. if you're into gore and body horror that side of it is pretty decent, but personally that's not the main thing i look for in a horror story so it just wasn't interesting to me.

3) the autopsy

the autopsy was another episode with great build up that just failed to follow through for me. the atmosphere was great, i liked the vibes and the initial autopsy scenes, i had some pretty high hopes for it. but the last part just felt silly and too much in poor taste for me. like maybe if you're into body horror you'd like it more? but the whole "super scary spooky evil alien getting his rocks off on human suffering" thing was just. too stupid for me

4) the outside

i LOVED the set design and general setting for this one. once again, great atmosphere, great build up, stupid ending. the message of it was honestly just kinda outdated as well. the main character was likeable at first but quickly became obnoxious and impossible to root for or empathise with which made the episode boring to watch. her husband was so blatantly meant to be a stand in for the audience and a "voice of reason" type character that it was hard to get immersed into the story. the characters in general were just. not great. and the "twist" of "it was a creature!" at the end was just so stupid imo sorry if that's harsh lol. i appreciated the visuals and how weirdly horny it was for no reason lmao but honestly it didn't have many other redeeming qualities

5) pickman's model

this one just didn't grab me at all. the characters weren't charismatic or interesting and the plot was just so obvious and overdone with the whole "what if there was a scary painting BUT IT WAS REAL!!!!!" thing. the scene where the creature appears and drags pickman off was pretty cool but other than that it just sucked honestly. extremely boring, not scary whatsoever and not interesting or fun or anything else.

6) dreams in the witch house

oh boy this shit sucked so bad LOL. just right from the beginning it was silly (but not in a good or fun way), poorly acted, boring, and extremely not scary. the only bit that even vaguely scared me was the "OH MY GOD IT'S INSIDE ME" part but that's just bc it's a trope that always freaks me out (i still can't watch the chestburster scene in alien lmao). the dialogue was predictable and cheesy and the characters were bland as hell. it was just not good sorry

7) the viewing

FINALLY I CAN BE POSITIVE ok this one ruled i loved it. great performances from charlyne yi and eric andre especially. it has a slow build up but makes up for that with an awesome atmosphere and amazing set. the characters are all clearly established with their own motivations and personalities. the direction the plot goes in is a little bit predictable, but that's probably the biggest flaw it has. it's also darkly comedic in a way that works in this episode, unlike some of the others. and the creature design rules

8) the murmuring

they definitely saved the best for last in this anthology. this one is awesome. great acting, and you can really feel deeply for both characters. it takes just the right amount of time building up the tension. the setting is so wonderful and atmospheric, it's visually brilliant. there were also some moments where i felt genuinely scared and tense which is more than i can say for most of the other episodes. it was possibly a little rushed at the end but nothing major. some really creepy off-putting moments combined with great visuals and a compelling plot and setting. if you're more of a body horror/slasher/etc type of person then this episode might not be your thing, but personally i prefer a "creeping feeling of dread" kind of horror so this was right up my alley.

obv these are just my personal takes and i know a lot of this is down to my own personal taste and preferences. ive read some reviews where the reviewer has the exact opposite of my opinions on every episode lol. if you liked episodes i didn't like then please don't take this personally or anything, and in general i don't want this post to be interpreted as some kind of attack on the series. i just wanted to share my personal thoughts on it, and unfortunately this one wasn't rlly for me overall, but that doesn't mean that there isn't someone out there who will love it!

so here's the thing. on my computer i have a folder full of Shit From Highschool, ranging from sophomore year to senior year, & most of it is admittedly classwork & so it's very boring. however. my file naming conventions Have Not Changed.

this one is 11 documents, maybe two of which are actual english assignments. the rest are stories. one of which is from junior high, actually, hold on a second,

this one is accurate, & is. now that i look at it. also from junior high. i had a computer class that had a typing teaching program & one of the options was just a freetyping box, & what i'd usually do is some exercises & then i'd go type shit in the free zone. & then i'd copy & paste it into a notepad before class ended. good times ig

these are named appropriately, i believe the titles were standardized for submission purposes, but. yknow. i feel like we spent close to 9 weeks on hamlet partially because of doing This (which isn't a complaint, i didn't mind it, i just. yknow. lot of analyzing)

ok so i havent actually drawn out this place yet, been meaning to, might do it in the meantime while my shitposts about this non-canon boiling isles town of mine get traction. (set it under a Keep Reading for TOH season 3 spoilers). gonna underline places and stuff so its easier to follow along (so i can sketch it out properly later). if anyone wants to attempt at drawing this place tho have at it id love to see dsghgfj i did my best at describing it

but anyways ive dubbed it Harper's Haven, it's known for it's predominant population of Bards, and has what's considered the Bard Coven Center. the Bard Coven Center was once known as the Bard College, and was once a place where both Bard-magic practitioners and Illusionists would attend to further their knowledge, essentially a higher education place for music and arts (INCLUDING THEATER *coughs at illusionists being good at that shit, i.e. Graye*). but when belos took over, he insisted it would be solely for Bards and made it the central location for Bard Coven witches

nowwww another fun thing is that, not only is Harper's Haven a sole location/gathering place for Bards of all genres, it also has a pretty strong population of Construction witches. cuz. yknow. gotta have event staff to make concert spaces as needed

Harper's Haven is located by the left shoulder of the Titan (a good distance away from the arm that belos made rise into the sky. talk about destruction in the nearby area lmfao), but a good enough distance away from the Titan Skull. So during the Day of Unity, they could somewhat see what was going on. and damn was that terrifying. There's a good amount of woods about 2 miles outside of the western side of town, including a good sized clearing...which used to be smaller...like. a lot smaller, but it got bigger thanks to a certain someone (aka my oc, who will be explained in a lotta lengthy detail in a separate post lmfao). Across from the Bard Coven Center building is a 12-story hotel, properly named the Harper's Haven Hotel, but more commonly called Triple H. A Construction Witch by the name of Caric Thorne created the hotel, having been a huge fan of of Bards and their magic (his son, Eran, also being a part of the Bard track at St. Epiderm's...yea he travels a good distance but its worth it, fairly certain Epiderm's has the best Bard track compared to Hexside and Glandus). Caric Thorne and Crane were. Close. sorta. havent rly decided but hey, he's favorable with the Bard Coven as a Construction witch so good enough lmfao. It's not a super giant town, compared to Latissa and Bonesborough, but it's still a decent size, with plentiful of concert halls and locations.

Bard Coven Center and Triple H are right about in the center of town, directly across the street from one another. For some reason Triple H is the only sorta inn/hotel/etc in the entire place. that just means Triple H gets hella good business...and is constantly busy. but eh, worth it. probably why a lot of the Bards like Caric Thorne so much lmfao. He's also super friendly, acts like a dad/grandpa to pretty much everyone. We stan One(1) somewhat elderly Construction witch.

Post-WAD, the Bard Coven Center returned to its origins, but deciding on its new name: Harper's Haven University of Music and the Arts. The aforementioned clearing 2 miles outside town greatly enhanced in size and became a later well-known outdoor concert space, and once a year, starting about 3 months after belos's defeat, it's host to the Bard Collective Charity Concert, an annual gathering of Bard musicians; the concert lasts all day from morning to the middle of the night (and sometimes into the early morning of the next day depending on length of songs...and excitement lmao).

anyway if anyone wants to know more bout Harper's Haven lemme know. look out for the rant about my Bard oc bc theyre a fckin legend and i love them dearly, theyre the reason for the clearing existing (was their practice area at first for Reasons) and donated it for the annual charity concert.
