Skizzekai- First Few Days Summary

Now that the asks have calmed down a bit, and hermits have been established, here's a summary post to get a general idea of where we're working from. I've also cleaned up any plotholes best I can.

Skizz, a human from Earth, was summoned to this fantasy world by god-king Joel. A prophecy stated he would defeat a great evil. It did not explain how. He keeps a journal to help him figure things out and keep track of everything.

Over his adventures so far, Skizz has made both allies and enemies, and picked up a magical necklace from travelling merchants. His suit also picked up durability enchantments somewhere, but only after the sleeves came off. The necklace was made for mages, gathering and focusing ambient magic for their use. It was not designed for a creature with no magic of their own.

He probably wouldn't have stayed human either way, but the necklace certainly sped it up. He's adapted to the world, become able to use it's magic, and dragonfly wings have begun to sprout from his back.

This could be concerning. But Skizz finds he loves his wings, his adaptation to the world that is gradually becoming his home. He embraces it. Maybe he really does belong here. Maybe soon he'll even be able to fly.

Joel, the ruler of the lore kingdom and recently ascended god, was originally an ogre- but after the belief of his people sent him through a few transformations, he's settled into his divine status. He can look however he wants now! But an ogre form is still most natural to him. Just a really tall and handsome ogre.

Skizz finds quick allies in Tango, Impulse, and Zed. Tango is a being of fire, with strong flame magic connected to his emotions. He is also in possession of a magical deck of cards. Zedaph, apprentice of Death Himself, joined their group after bringing Skizz back from the dead. He insisted on the completion of some difficult tasks first, but now they're buddies! He's also capable of reality distortion magic, knows alchemy, and has a card of luck magic Tango gave him. Everyone is terrified of Zedaph. Probably for good reason.

Impulse.... may not have intended to become an ally. The demonic man used to work for the forces of evil- before Skizz showed up, and his doubts became a true betrayal to join the side of good. They became fast friends. He doesn't want Skizz to become lost like the last hero was.

That last hero is one Gemini Tay, human-turned-Drowned, who was summoned a few years back, and is not happy about Skizz. It's like she's not even needed anymore. She puts a bounty on Skizz's head. She cannot accept her failure.

Chasing that bounty is False, harpy and former pirate queen. She may have had to leave her crew after that deal lead to a mild case of possession, but she still appreciates some good treasure. That's why she's been working as a travelling merchant.

Her fellow merchants, Cub and Scar, are equally possessed but not quite as motivated. They mostly just like messing with people. Including Skizz. Maybe especially Skizz. They are fae, after all.

Skizz did have one unfortunate interaction with them- he got his name taken for a bit. Fortunately, after returning Scar's cat familiar to him, the name was given back.

Gem isn't the only former human in this world. Joe Hills, a half-ghost living in the republic of the undead, was summoned from Nashville a while back, and befriended Prime Minister Cleo along the way.

Cleo's republic was once a kingdom, run by Ren, but as soon as she got the throne she declared the monarchy over. She got voted in, and Ren is her second in command. Together they run the place, maintaining the army of constructs and fighting back against the sculk creeping into the tunnels.

Most humans that end up in this world don't tend to stay human long. The ambient magic eventually soaks in and alters them, and most embrace it. The changes are a new beginning, or a sign of belonging in this strange world. But Hypno did not embrace it.

No, Hypno was the human half of a changeling deal, and has been clinging to his humanity for quite a while. He's even gotten hold of an artifact, somehow, that pushes the ambient magic out of his body, keeping him human. His friend, Jevin, is a slime guy who enjoys being a slime guy, and doesn't understand this drive to stay human one bit. Magic is cool.

Other hermits that I couldn't neatly tie into the one ramble:

Wels is a selkie proficient in bard magic, and a former member of False's crew.

Stress is a fae queen who rules a kingdom specializing in ice magic, with Iskall as her loyal bodyguard.

TFC is a miner of unknown species who helped Skizz out during a quest

Mumbo is not a vampire, thank you very much. He's actually the former god of the night who lost half his power. Vampires were made from that stolen half.

Pearl is a moth fae who used to rule a prosperous kingdom... until a talking dog came to advise her, corrupting her into a cruel and evil queen. She has since slain the beast, fled into exile, and changed her ways. She now works delivering mail.

Etho and Bdubs are plant constructs, guarding a deep and dangerous jungle. Etho may have a metallic shell, but he's all plant inside. Doc and Beef guard the jungle as well, the four of them ensuring safe passage for travellers. Doc in particular has the ability to become absolutely gigantic.

Xisuma was a bubbling puddle of nothing that became a person and sustains itself on bones. Far too many bones. Bones in places they really should not be, such as outside the skin.

Keralis is a unicorn! He is also a menace who is very protective of his magic, refusing to use it unless he feels like it. Claims to be able to read the value of souls. Bothers xB by calling him the princess of the lake. xB is not a princess.

Grian is... something. He's strange, is what he is. He's a nice guy, and helpful to Skizz, but has these weird mutterings about "watchers", and what was that about accidentally stealing Mumbo's power?

Secret Life finale highlights for me:

- "My strategy: Kill Skizz and Tango. Will happen at some point... Or, just maim them and watch them die in a corner." - Scar

- Scott on Grian's loyalty: "I have never seen a man drop a pair of sunglasses faster in my life [than last season after Joel died]."

- I think I reblogged someone's speculation weeks ago that at the dawn of final session, everyone's task book would just say "Win Secret Life." Congrats to them for Apollo's gift of prophecy.

- Martyn's beat of pause before saying to Joel "Welcome to the Out of Context video."

- At the start of the season, Etho said Joel was the first one he wanted to kill because "He's cheeky." When Joel is asked who he wants to kill, he says "Etho." Glad you're enjoying your rivalry, boys, smh...

- Joel, once again giving into his Shrek origins, watching Bdubs' wool globe go up in flames and chirping "My world's on fire; how 'bout yours?"

- Tango does not break his "pathetic death" curse. Just blipped out of existence. Love that for him.

- Spitting, crying... BigB panics and flees into his creepy backrooms for safety. Immediately vanishes into the tunnel maze. Scar pursues and skids to a halt because he hasn't seen it yet and is thoroughly creeped out.

- Scar coming up to surface and trying to describe how BigB disappeared. Martyn looks down at where they're standing and is just like "Oh, that's the backrooms." Mental image of Scar as that meme that goes "The. what."

- Scar describing BigB as a sneaky squirrel. "Squirrel" was the name of BigB's horse in Double Life.

- Joel's anxiety about entering a Nether portal on the final episode, specifically because of how he and Etho perma-died in Double Life

- Whatever was going on with Martyn flinging ender pearls up the ladder seconds before he died

- Additionally, people in the background commenting that they think Martyn's teamed up with Cleo and the only reason he was near them was an attempt to bear down and kill them

- Scar to Bdubs, watching Cleo and Etho from a distance: "Look at this- Mom and Dad are bringing their new ugly stepson to meet us, Bdubs." /camera pans to the warden chasing them

- Bdubs tells Scar that Cleo said he was her favorite son and Scar IMMEDIATELY, without responding or even waiting for Bdubs to finish his sentence, jumps a wall and books it to Cleo to confirm... Mental image of him swinging dramatically over it with one hand, his shawl billowing behind him

- Scar chases Cleo while they're both being pursued by a warden, asking her if he's her favorite son. Doesn't let up until she assures him she "just said it to keep Bdubs happy." what is wrong with the Clocker family.

- Joel somehow pulled off a beautiful PVP kill on Skizz despite having only 2.5 hearts

- In earlier episodes, Joel had people say "The florist sends his regards" on his behalf before striking. Before killing Skizz, he says "Scar sends his regards" since Scar really wanted to kill Skizz but bequeathed the fight to Joel instead.

- Scar trotting up to Etho and Cleo, who are watching him from a cliff, and announcing "I am not up to anything nefarious!"

- Scar's weird spiky wall design is really pretty

- slkdjfskldjfsklj?!?!?!? I had a bullet point on this list that said "Honorable non-finale mention to Scar getting both the Green and Yellow kill on Etho this season" but now I see I need to correct that:

- Shout-out to Scar killing Etho - in Etho's front yard - THREE TIMES this season. Etho rushing back to his base, tripping over his feet and saying "I'm going home, everybody- I'm dying at my home-"

- Scott to Scar: "I went down to BigB - to get him - and I see what you mean; he does just talk his way out of things so you feel bad; you just leave him." / Scar: "That's why you don't let him speak. You just inner monologue. You start talking about Star Wars so you can't hear his charms."

- As Scar drives his sword into Cleo, he says "Good-bye, Mom- This is for you telling Bdubs [he's your] favorite." Geez, dude. Scar killed both his parents; this family is a mess. Bonus points for Joel fumbling in the background like "Oh my gosh- Scar, you savage-"

- I watched multiple POVs until I was caught up to the standoff between Gem & The Scotts vs. The Mounders... So picking up from there with Scar's POV b/c his is the one I randomly started with today: I love how Joel basically went "I am once again throwing caution to the wind and charging into battle with a murderous Red rage in my eyes and no one behind me" like he ALWAYS does.

- Bdubs and Scar decide to back him up... Amazing.

- Scar has gotten 4 kills (Tango, Etho, Cleo, Impulse) and he was super close to getting BigB as well before Scott sniped the kill. Geez... The man is vicious today. During Limited Life, Grian made a comment that went something like "Of course Scar is only destructive / successful when I'm not on his team" and honestly? Yeah...

- Pearl begging Scar to kill her- Pearl warning Scar that if she perma-kills Gem, she'll go up 10 hearts- Scar refusing, insisting that he doesn't want to turn on her because it feels lame...

- Scar got Gem, he got Gem... GeminiSlay is DOWN!

- SCAR SWEEP WITH THE BOW!!

Oh my goodness, I saw his episode title ("Can Villain Scar Win?") and the words that went through my head were "Welp, that's a spoiler that he's dead." I see I was wrong.

GG, SCAR WIN!!! Man who wanted so desperately to have friends, only to trip and fail time and time again... GoodTimesWithVictor!!

My heart, Scar letting that zombie knock him down to half a heart... playing up like he didn't just watch the lightning bolt mark Pearl's demise. He wanders, calling out to Pearl, asking where she went... quietly giggling and muttering to himself as that zombie pushes at him... GG, Scar. GG.

My goodness, is this the only time we haven't seen the winner die in their perspective? Scar slams that success button for winning the game, gets 5 hearts, turns back, and that's it... That's the game. End scene.

YES please pretty please talk about your historical life series au

So, the setting is roughly late 1900s to early 1910s. Pre-war era England. London to be specific, though I am looking for a specific year to set this in (partly for the sake of character design)

The au contains all members of the life series, but some don't have set roles yet and I'm open to input on those, as well as ideas for characters who already have roles

The central characters are Joel and Scar (and to an extent, Grian), though the story is more from Joel's perspective overall.

Joel is an artist, as a reference to his empires s1. He was raised by his aunt and uncle in Yorkshire, along with his cousin but moved to London at a young age to pursue his career in art.

Scar is an American nouveau riche car manufacturer (a reference to hermitcraft S8) who recently moved to England and is a new patron of Joel's art.

Ren is Scar's old money neighbour who has a suspiciously familiar manservant. Spoiler but Ren is also the legitimate brother of Joel.

Martyn was the second son of an Earl and highly respected officer in the British army, however he died recently. Another spoiler, he faked his death and is disguised as Ren's manservant.

Grian is another neighbour of Scar's, though his family's wealth goes back much less far. Grian grew up with Martyn and Ren but has a deep hatred for the two of them and is determined to find something to ruin their reputation, such as an illegitimate sibling or the truth about a suspicious death.

Gem is an officer in the British army who replaced Martyn after his death. She has been disguised as a man since joining the army and is widely disrespected due to her age, despite how strict she is with the troops, rivalling many other officers.

Etho is an older army officer and the only person who knows Gem's status as he was the one who helped her make her way into the army.

Cleo is Martyns so called widow, making her a dowager. Don't ask why there was so much alcohol at her husbands funeral, a woman may cope however she pleases.

Scott is Cleo's new fiancé after the death of Martyn. He is a bankrupt noble due to a series of bad investments at the hand of his older brother and has agreed to marrying a wealthy dowager (Cleo)

Lizzie is Joel's ex-fiance who went missing a few years ago. Yet another spoiler, she got heavily involved in the suffragette movement (theyre the violent ones, the suffragists were the more peaceful ones) and is on the run from the law and under Cleos protection.

The two with less fleshed out roles at the moment are Jimmy, Joel's cousin he was raised with in Yorkshire, and Mumbo, a mechanic who works for Scar, so they need to be further developed

Then there's Pearl, Impulse, Bdubs, Skizz, BigB are Tango who I honestly have no clue where to fit them in here so please give me ideas 🥺👉👈 i literally love using that sequence of emojis its so silly

Places I took inspiration from for this are: A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (Musical), The Unexpected Heiress (Visual Novel) and The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Book Series)

The last one is set in a completely different time period (1700s), however I took inspiration from it's mystery aspects (this also only applies to the first two books in the series) (it also has no relation to GGLAM, ignore their similar names, and the fact both have main characters who go by Monty)

(By the way, don't expect perfect historical accuracy, this is not the time period I've studied the most extensively. The one I have studied is not really suitable for Minecraft fanfiction, however I am still a history lover.)

ch season 2 opinions

design::

i don't like the new characters' color schemes other than frida. i think the colors work well with her and her character.

confucius' character was wasted, i wish he had more screen time with jfk other than the keyboard warriors scene, plus his bright colors make me want to scream:(

HARRIET TUBMAN'S DESIGN DRIVES ME CRAZY. i understand the whole "ohh her old design wasn't important and the only scene she had was a canceled test scene" stuff but like i wish they'd kept it. she looks like a highlighter to me and i wish they'd given her SOMETHING to make her look more like harriet, maybe the old hair design. she could be any black historical female figure and it wouldn't be surprising.

the new principal girl is fine, idrc about her that much. she isn't too out there but i also think it's really stupid they made her related to joan it just seems like a way for them to get her more screen time

they ruined joanfk, joan didnt act anything like the sarcastic gothy teen she used to be, she was obsessed with being popular and looking cool (ex. cleocoming), and jfk only made sex jokes. no war puns, no funny magic man-esque one liners, nothing. plus he became super clingy and just not the jock he used to be. the whole reason they worked was because they felt open with each other and told each other everything, but in the reboot they hide all sorts of stuff from each other.

i hate harriet and jfk. they should've used that time to develop frida and cleo, who are

the most random ship ever. cleo gave me such homophobic vibes in the first season and to see her date another woman with NO ARC is terrible. she AT LEAST couldve had a "i can date girls?" gag. but no, nothing. it feels so cash grabby and shallow.

i have no sentimental attachment to harriet and confucius, so them dating meant nothing to me. it felt like watching two random people make out: weird, strangely random, and confusing.

it's so scudworth coded to have him in love with a woman that wants him dead.

plot::

cleo had no important points except for cleocoming where she didnt even act like herself. i assume this was to hide the fact that she got a brand new voice actor, but i think she's doing fine. the script is the issue. she's no longer manipulative. she's just mean. the old cleo would've thrown the blood pumpkin rumor right back in joan's face.

the "clone leader test" plot sucked. should've made another cloney island plotline.

i think the biggest thing I didn’t like is that everything went by so quickly. Like characters talked so fast and it didn’t give me time to process what just happened before we’re already halfway into the next thing. Like give me time to breathe dawg. I really think the movie could have been much better if you added like 10-15 minutes to the run time

im also not a fan of the animation but I’m sure I’ll get used to it

anyway character designs were cute

draculara is my fav so far

honestly don’t have that much to say about it 😭 I hope we get to flesh out the characters a bit more soon

this is really funny to me but i saw your questionable guardian angel animatic and i LOVED it, your designs are so peak and jimmy is so adorable, and this isnt criticism at all but the part where cleo said “WOW” after grian said “you say sorry really weird”? it wasn’t because of grian’s statement, it was because the flint and steel gem gave etho was the one cleo gave gem just minutes earlier, which is why cleo said that, and gem subsequently left before she could get called out. i just think it makes it so much more funny that it was gem’s antics that got cleo’s response, and grian’s weird remarks went entirely unnoticed lol

But so many people keep telling me this and I put disclaimers where I could that I'm aware, I just really regret not putting a disclaimer within the video itself. Just finished watching 3rd Life!!!! I was a bit busy so I couldn't do it as quickly as I wanted to but I made it.

I watched Grian's pov as you suggested and holy fuck was that a ride. I have Thoughts.

Grian and Scar. Scar and Grian. Those two shared a braincell and Grian had it for most of the series.

Grian I think had the most kills out of anyone by the end of it??? Guy really thought he could use Scar as an excuse to satiate his bloodlust without losing any lives. He was 100% correct.

Scar had a lot of kills too, didn't he? Especially in the Dogwarts war. Even if he is the goofy boss to Grian's competent right-hand man, it was nice to see him get down to business as well.

"Your Honor, he pleads /j."

I'm focusing a lot on Scar and Grian here, but I would also like to give a shoutout to Jimmy for being the first person out. From what I hear it's pretty on-brand for him and it makes me think Scott was his Grian. For a second I thought it was Cleo tho.

The Battle of the Red Desert was painful to watch lmfao.... Scar pulled the lever, Grian. Wrong time tho.

Can't be good at building without being good at demolition. Grian really likes TNT, doesn't he. Just pray he never improves at redstone, I think it's best his traps stay broken.

I learned from a comment section that Impulse was killed for a clock that belonged to him in the first place. Rough going, buddy.

Scar's second death had me wheezing.... that's how you know he had some sort of plot armor on, no matter what Grian might say, cuz no way in hell did that guy become the first red name and stay alive for 2nd place.

That was the most Canadian fistfight I ever did see. Scar's muscles did not help.

Grian I see is associated with a bird sometimes? I don't know the reason for that but I find it interesting considering he killed himself by jumping off a cliff.

All in all....... yeah I really liked it!!! I have only watched Grian's pov tho, so if you recommend checking out any other POVs, I could do so. Not sure if I'll be able to watch any of the other Life seasons soon, as I might start dipping into, y'know, Hermitcraft/Empires (thanks to you, really!), but we'll see.

grian kills and maims and we love him for it. i love his maniacal laugh whenever he gets a good kill. like a cartoon villain.

scar is goofy and silly and also bloodthirsty. he's so much fun. he can go from himbo to terrifying red life so fast.

yup, very on brand. poor jimmy. scott is kind of his grian? he's definitely the green to his red, and smart to his stupid, but their vibes are pretty different from grian and scar. they're husbands rather than boss and right hand.

i cannot physically express how disappointed i was when the explosion didn't kill anyone.

impulse's death... oh i feel so bad for him. you could hear him starting to say bdubs' name as he died. i had to stare at the wall for like five minutes after that scene.

the only reason scar lasted so long was because of grian. if they hadn't teamed up, he would have died much quicker lmao.

oh the fist fight. oh the cactus ring. oh god.

grian is usually depicted as a parrot hybrid. i'm not sure why, i think it started as a hermitcraft fandom thing that bled into his other stuff. people often fannonized as birds falling to death is one of my favorite things. i can't get enough of it.

if you want to watch more povs, i would recommend martyn or scott. martyn's is good if you want to understand the dogwarts side of things, and scott's is just one of my favorites.

i haven't watched any hermitcraft myself, but i plan to one of these days. empires is one of my favorite smps, and really what got me back into mcyt. if you ever do get around to watching the other life series, i think you'd enjoy them!

i'm also very excited for the guidebook! i haven't read the excerpt though.

Hi! First off, love your art style, it's so pretty, and the way you draw characters is so unique that even the ones you draw for fandoms could be seen as your own oc's but also somehow perfectly convey the characters you are drawing at the same time! (I hope that makes sense-)

I've recently discovered your Noir AU and I must admit it's definitely one of the more unique aus I've seen in a long while. I love how you draw the characters, they're designs are delicious (/pos)!

If it's not to much to ask, would you be willing to share more info regarding the AU? Things like (non-revealing of course) backstories for how some of the characters or gangs came to be, any current rivalries ongoing between groups, or if there is any, any ships? for noir info.... hrmmm. cleo used to work for doc -- he was the one who patched her up after she lost an eye -- but she was always too ambitious (some would say power-hungry) to be content as someone's right-hand-man and she eventually split off from the hive to start her own gang. joe was a civilian who had worked up some unfortunate debts due to equally unfortunate circumstances, and cleo saw his potential and convinced him to join her in her efforts to build a name for herself. noir au is very wobbly in my mind in terms of format but if i ever wrote like, a longfic about it, cleo and joe would probably be the main pov characters.

other than that, i honestly wish that i could say i had more notable character backstories? mumbo and grian are childhood friends, doc and keralis have A History, ren's been building up his own ramshackle logging company for the past several years. keralis was born into money and uses it very irresponsibly and has been married many times bc people keep trying to murder him for his wealth and then leave either because he hypnotizes them out of it or because they find out how batshit insane he is and decide its not worth the effort. stress and doc are cousins, stress used to work for doc as his medic but quit because they butted heads over many things and later joined up with cleo as a kind of petty revenge against him. XB is just a mysterious somewhat-wealthy guy who just kind of... showed up one day. hypno's lived in the city all his life and mostly struggled to break even selling weapons until he and XB started working together and quickly found out that they could run MAD schemes together with their combined methods. cub and scar's backstory is currently a mystery even to me, but they've known each other for many years and will know each other for many more.

as for rivalries between groups, i mean, they're all direct competitors, so none of them like each other, but at the hypothetical start of the story the standings would be like... the main three current biggest gang powers in westport are the hive, the boneyard, and boatem. the hive has been around for years and years and has been deathly effective all that time. the resident empire, etc etc. everyone knows not to fuck with them. the boneyard is far more recent, but has proven to be a shockingly effective power in its own right, which is a threat to the hive's standings, so there's kind of a bitter past-fueled competition going on there. boatem, for its part, was not taken seriously at all until recently, when the previous leader died and left his protege in charge -- mumbo -- and while mumbo isn't a very good leader in his own right, he's really just the puppet front for grian, who, with pearl and impulse backing him up, is raising boatem through the ranks at a frightening pace. so the main conflict of the nonexistent plot might be boatem's rekindled emergence and the consequences of that.

and as for ships, ehhhh, if i ever write some kind of longfic there probably won't be any like, Canon Ships, it'll just be up to reader interpretation. this is mainly because 1. indecisive, 2. not very interested in writing romance most of the time, 3. want to appeal to a wider audience, and 4. what i often jokingly refer to as "queerbaiting my audience" in which i imagine im writing an ambiguously homoerotic published novel and construct entirely subtextual relationships between my characters because it entertains me dearly. for that matter even outside of longfic there aren't really canon ships in noir au persay. idk man. joe and cleo are up to whatever joe and cleo are always up to. ren is a whore for the mafia (doc) there's no getting around that one but the extent of his whoreishness is based on my mood. doc and keralis are 300 pages deep into a novel published in 1950 with the most insane enemies to lovers homoerotic subtext youve read in your life but again the extent of this is based on my mood. xb and hypno's relationship is up to viewer interpretation [looking directly into the camera mouthing "they're gay"]. i think at one point i invented a crackship between pixlriffs and xisuma, who co-run the newspaper that martyn is a reporter for, but i genuinely do not remember why the hell i was doing that. and also pix and xisuma have literally no story relevance anyway. also cub and scar are gay in the way where it's inherently gay to run a speakeasy together.

Me: *shuffling through old stuff from high school and finds a note book filled with an ancient Egypt modern sci-fi love action story between the reader and the god Seth* …Well time to share this with the world.

So yeah it was actually a story I wrote after assassins creed 3 came out and I started imagining what the gods and pharaohs would be like in modern day and it evolved into me diving back into my hyper fixation on Ancient Egypt lol.

Essentially the plot is reader goes to Egypt with fiancé, fiancé is a narcissist and wants to propose in public to make a big scene and get attention but can’t get the perfect photos so keeps dragging reader through active archeology sites, ground collapses, reader falls in and it’s revealed to be a tomb containing Seth. Archeologists, reader and fiancé explore down into the tomb, Seth gets set loose and the group leave the reader for dead when the tomb begins to collapse and they get knocked out. Seth sees the flowers the reader has from the failed proposal and mistakes it as an offering after centuries of being forgotten and declares they’ll be his consort as Anubis arrives and explains his wrongful imprisonment. They mark the reader as his eternal consort with a tattoo, Amit carrys reader from the tomb as it collapses and Anubis beings Seth home so he can clean up reunite with his family. And yes. Everyone including the gods. Are hot.

It features most of the known gods and goddesses. Imprisonment by the archeologists who were present during the events that kick off the story. A worldwide man hunt. And a conspiracy between Seth’s wife, Nephthys, and the evil serpent god, Apopis, to frame Seth for the murder of his own brother, Osaris.

And my favourite part, the pharaohs! In total I decided on 3 main pharaohs deemed worthy enough to live in the palace of the gods and study under them. Seti the first, Ramses the great, Tutankhamun, Nefertiti, and Cleopatra. And yes. I made them all hot. Well, kind of. They’re essentially otherworldly entities now so even in their most human appearances there’s something off about them. Essentially when they passed to the afterlife they were free from pain and could decide their own appearances and so made themselves handsome, beautiful, or to quote Tut in my favourite line from him I wrote, “I just wanted to be able to run and play tag with my daughters.” And yes tut’s two infant daughters are in the after life and have taken the form of two little girls with Isis like wings for arms, they can play for all eternity and when Tut isn’t spending time studying under Ra he spends it with them but I’ll get to that in a minute.

When designing the pharaohs I pretty much pictured them to have three main forms. Their ‘scout’ form. Which is essentially the nightingale armour from skyrim for their body and on their heads they were sci fi versions of their golden death masks. The eyes glow, there’s hollows in the cheeks where light also emits as they filter air to pick up smells etc, and the eyelids can blink as to allow them to convey emotion without exerting the energy to bring forth an actual human like face beneath the mask.

The only difference really design wise is Nefertiti wears a mask resembling Bastet as she studies under her, and tut’s face mask is of his own ideal face. Not the iconic one we know because it’s been revealed that mask actually belonged to his father and tuts burial was so rushed his tomb wasn’t even his own tomb.

Their second form is their human like appearance. Essentially their ideal form outside of their scout armour. Ramses is strong and built for battle, Seti is slender but a great acrobat and he and Cleo argue frequently about who has the prettier nose, Nefertiti I pretty much picture as Ana from Overwatch just with a spear and a much younger appearance, cleopatra I now envision more as the siren from jibaro, and tut, just a very easy on the eyes, healthy 19 year old with a big fuck off pair of hawk wings.

Okay now to explain studying. Essentially the pharaohs can spend their afterlife however they please or they can study under specific gods and receive powers from them, this allows them to return to the land of the living when needed or just to explore and see things they never could or to see other realms and worlds if they wish etc, but they end up as personal servants so to speak in exchange for the teachings and if anything happens to the god that results in well, the Osiris situation, that pharaoh will become the god, lose all sense of self they held before and only retain some memories as their identity is replaced with the god they served.

Tut chose to study under Ra and was given wings and the ability to shoot flaming arrows from his bow. Seti chose Anubis and his powers can involve raising the dead or mummifying someone alive if he can hold the spell long enough. Ramses chose Sekhmet and I can’t remember what his powers are but I recall him summoning a massive sandstorm to stop the archeologists from reaching the airport when helping the reader escape back to their home country. Nefertiti chose Bastet and she’s a natural healer and comforting presence until someone hurts her son (tut) her grand daughters, or anyone she’s deemed her baby (cough cough the reader cough) then all hell breaks loose. And Cleo chose Wadjet, gifting her the ability to move like a snake and strike with venomous claws like fangs and if someone’s close enough her mask can open allowing a cloud of opium like poison to burst out like a gust of toxic wind putting anyone near her into a coma or just, well, death.

There’s a lot of forgiveness arch’s between Seth and the other gods, Osiris explains to him the plot to frame him and begs for his forgiveness for not being able to stop it, Seth forgives him obviously and generally there’s just a lot of apologising lol

Yes I added a cheesy romance scene where the reader is dancing around the archeology campsites fire with the rest of the group to the song “through heavens eyes” from the prince of Egypt. Yes Seth shows up looking like a hot ass man with an assassin like hood over his face, yes the two dance and end it with a kiss which results him exploding into a cloud of golden sand that forms into an engagement ring on the readers finger and yes Seth reforms back in his palace in the afterlife and excitedly informs his brother he proposed like a giddy big himbo.

But yeah. I might not write it in full yes it’s cheesy yes it reeks of the mummy nostalgia, yes, I love it.

Commander B-00-100 ("Bdoubleo" or "Bdubs) serves as his second officer. Bdubs is a human clone. while he was one of the first to actually function, he also defected from what was intended of him pretty quickly. luckily, though, his individual sentience was encouraged, and he joined Starfleet! (Zedaph loves having Bdubs on board to learn about)

where is grian, you might ask? well you see. Grian is part of the alien race called The Watchers. they are entirely unknown to the Federation until the USS Orpheus falls into a rift in a subspace bubble. within that rift-- within that bubble-- they find a lone planet circling a star. on that planet are the Watchers. a species who never interact or interfere with anything that falls through the rift. it's their way! they only ever observe. watch.

of course, Grian is a pesky little bird. and he does not follow that tradition at all.

the USS Orpheus has to send down a landing party to retrieve something from the planet's surface in order to repair their ship from passing through the rift. Scar, being chief of security and also able to talk himself out of pretty much any situation is sent down. because it's first contact and there's no warp signature from the planet, they only send Scar down bc... they can't really risk breaking the Prime Directive.

but uh. yeah. scar runs into grian pretty quickly.

thoughts about them (I have. so many) under the cut

ok so literally everything about all of them is subject to change, but I’m happy where they are for now! I’m building up a lot of stuff for them, but it’s very work in progress. there is some important lore I doubt will change too much though!

the demons essentially are “evil” gods (none of them are super evil, but they are in general more evil inclined/presenting, and they all have pointy ears and horns so they’re one big group that was y’know. demonized) I’m going to have to design the “good” gods at some point but I have some other stuff I want to do before jumping into more mass character design, so those designs might force me to change these ones idk. it’s gotta make sense as one big world y’know.

all these guys (and the angels or whatever I'll call them when I get there) come from an original god. this gods pronouns (for now thy/thym/thyr/thymself) are the basic "godly" pronoun set that all of the demons share. this god also (and most importantly) shattered into pieces and leaked stuff everywhere. the stuff became everything that exists! this original god was made of everything that now exists and also nothing (y'know the science thing abt how before matter existed time didn't either? something about that) so the demons aren't flesh and blood but instead made of magic or something. this means that they all technically have the ability to shape shift, though it isn't a huge part of what they do.

also despite being gods, they aren't all powerful! they have the power to influence the world, but don't have full control over anything (for the most part)

now a rundown of all of them (not strictly in this order. kallie had to go first because of how important she was to me doing this at all)

Kallie: she/thy

my absolute blorbo. was my second demon but the one I cared about the most by far. did 4 pieces of her for a school project I love her so much. she started out as a demon with both a pink demon from and a "normal" human form. she also had wings and was a galah (pink bird). for some reason. her human form was because originally the idea was that she was infiltrating a high school in order to get close to someone so she could betray & kill them in as painful a way as possible. she was an agent of my hell on a mission. then shenanigans occur (this was supposed to be a comedy idk)

NOW: she's the demon of war, violence, and chaos. she's often confused with the love demon because of how much heart patterned stuff she wears. she's silly and cute! always wearing a different outfit. like 6'2" without platforms. she's extremely unreliable when sharing information, and thinks she's really humble (she's not).

Elio: he/thy

my first demon! used to be named sol so this name isn't set in stone but y'know. not a man! this is a lesbian! original concept had him fall in love with a human which I might keep but who knows.

he's basically a demon laywer. demon of laws, oaths, and fire. in the lore he used to be wayyy more evil, more fire than law, and a tyrant! he used to suck! much more chill now though, and more law motivated too.

Vesh: they/thy

sporty icon. demon of electricity, energy, and mischief (they're a troublemaker and a prankster). high energy thus: sports. also I needed a theme outfit-wise because it was really lame originally.

Cleo: she/thy

Cleo was the one I had a helpful dream about. she's demon of doubt, secrets, and being hidden. she can also shape shift into any type of snake!

shes really fond of humans, and really helpful despite having no reputation of being so. everything she says might be a lie though, so she helps point humans in the right direction, but her info needs to be verified. strong believer in shades of grey. she and vika despise each other. her horns aren't visible because I forgot them and couldn't make them work with hair so their really small. it's good hair though, right?

Nira: she/thy

demon of water & fluidity. honestly her design was so easy I don't have many thoughts. she's the tallest. very shy. either apathetic or full of rage and tearing things apart. something about the moon. that's all I got.

Vika: he/they/thy

demon of knowledge, facts, and the mind/the brain. pretends he knows everything but he really doesn't. an egotistical motherfucker. they are the largest source of information out there though. doesn't believe in maybes or subjective answers. if they answer a question with a maybe or subjective answer they will just tell you one answer. doesn't like sharing information but loves showing off. must be very very respectful and stroke his ego to get his (often extremely helpful) information. doesn't know everything though, they're not omniscient. he and Cleo despise each other.

Frankie: he/thy

demon of emotion, beauty, and sex. the actual love demon. a bitch but very very cool so it's waved away by those not victims of it. appreciate beauty and confidence above all. has a fun pink twin purple twin thing with kallie. they are not twins, nor are they particularly close. very dramatic. feels emotions very strongly. often underestimated.

Keres: she/they/thy

demon of darkness, death, and peace. an absolute sweetheart. cane user. slightly separated from the rest of the group. cares for the dead. a highly feared and beloved god. I love her your honor

Lmfao I just, don't like them, I don't think they're necessary to tie the color on the skirt into the whole look, bc she already has it on her under eye makeup (which I think looks fine! It's just a tiny little pop of the color). I think the earrings being purple to match her lipstick would have looked nicer, or even white, since she doesn't really have any white on her head (unless you count the whites of her eyes which, lmao I don't), and I think it'd tie the look together nicely if she did.

for doll #2, it's the bat-shaped holes that go all around the brim of her hat. They look dumb as shit:

these four Clawdeens are the closest to 'okay, I don't completely HATE these—', but none of them are, imo, good. 1-3 have outfits I kind of like(but I hate all their hair colors), and #4 has the hair color I like most of all the Clawdeen dolls, but I hate her outfit lmfao it's so ugly… I've yet to see a Clawdeen doll with both hair color AND outfit that I like on the same doll.

ALSO, I actually recently was able to finally find somewhere to watch MH, and did so, and I'm happy to report Draculaura is my favorite not JUST aesthetically! We don't know, like, too much about G3 Ghoulia since she hasn't appeared much yet, but I'll try to list most everything we do know:

In the live-action movie, which is a separate continuity from the cartoon and dolls, she's kind of the "weird" girl. I don't mean that in a negative way though- I mean she's the kid that, like... When Clawdeen first meets her she acts in a spooky/dazed/ominous way as a way to, like, prank/spook her? But when Clawdeen doesn't react to it she's just like "aw man" and properly talks to her. She also sleeps in a graveyard in the school rather than in the dorms, and when the main trio is sneaking around in there she'll rise up like in an old zombie movie to make a funny comment.

Ghoulia being the smartest ghoul in school isn't really like, a thing anymore? Probably because of the thing with Frankie's brain being made up of the greatest minds in monster history. But she IS still a nerd! Or at least, it's mentioned she has fast fingers for playing videos game (see the grimtendo screech her basic doll comes with) and her skateboard has Dead Fast on the bottom (her favorite comic superhero in G1)

Speaking of her skateboard, while Ghoulia has always had the taste for things like that (see: her Scooter in G1) G3 seems to be leaning more into it, probably to make up for her no longer being the smart one, so now she's kind of more predominantly a skater girl- her skateboard allows her to go faster than her undead legs can, but she's supposedly not the best at stopping. "It's a good thing zombies don't feel pain!"

She is also part of the Casketball team, alongside Lagoona, Heath, and Deuce. Also Probably Clawdeen and Clawd in the future. This may be a reference to how she fought for zombies to have the right to play in G1.

According to Lagoona's music video, Ghoulia's her bestie. We haven't seen them interact in the show yet, but some leaked episode synopses seem to suggest this is true. In the live-action movie, though, Lagoona's only seen as Cleo's bestie, with Ghoulia just being a fun minor character that shows up on occasion.

One of the concept designs for Ghoulia's appearance in the show has her with Ramona Flowers' hairstyle in the Scott Pilgrim vs the World fillum.

Her design doesn't really feature red anymore :( which sucks cuz red was her theme color in G1 and they incorporated it into her design sooo well, like, when you look at her you don't immediately register her as wearing a lot of red, but when you look closer for it you'll notice almost every piece she's wearing is red. Meanwhile in G3 most everything she wears is black (sometimes white or gray) with the occasional pop of bright lime or hot pink, with the only actual colored piece being her weird plastic-y neon pink skirt, which I really think should've been red pants instead...

She can turn her head 360 degrees.

I FORGOT TO POST ABT THE CORE REFRESH MONSTER HIGH DOLLS

not the biggest fan of lagoona but i don't like her g3 design in general so it's def just me. i do think she has a stronger style in her refresh, but shes missing that swimmer aesthetic that i think is so important to her design. also less blue in her hair she really is lagoona pink now /j

FRANKIE WITH PANTS LETS GOOOOO i think the leaked prototype had a stronger color scheme (the pink streak in their hair isn't doing it for me) but i LOVE what they've been doing with frankie's style recently, really hype for that welcome committee doll 👀 also NO MORE PINK LIPS HUZZAH

tbh cleos kinda giving nefra in her refresh??? i do really like it tho, a MUCH stronger design vs her og core doll. i do think cleo's dolls have been some of the strongest out of g3 so this is no surprise to me

draculaura and clawdeen leaked a while ago but MAN did they do them justice. giving clawdeen her dark hair back and the fur on the jacket is SUCH a better execution, i love that they gave drac a sun hat i think that's so cute and i love that her outfit feels like a callback to g1 :) and again BLACK LIPS WERE FREE FROM THE HOT PINK NIGHTMARE-

and GOD g3s designs just keep getting stronger and stronger, i never had g1 venus so she might be my first g3 👀 i usually dont like the g3 pets (core refresh is no exception) but i think spectras pet is SO cute, spectras eyes are so pretty in the stock photos too im excited to see her in person :O

tldr i think it's so funny how g3 mh just keeps improving and judging by the lack of neon pink lipstick this time around seems to actually be LISTENING to fans meanwhile rainbow high is going down in flames LMAO
