Mysterious Red Clouds Over the Atlantic Ocean Has Completely Mystified the Internet
One Redditor pointed out that the glow was most likely caused by red LED lights attached to fishing vessels looking to attract saury. The fish are attracted to the lights and vacuumed aboard, allowing the fishermen to catch thousands of saury at a time.

Zinc alloy; cast, engraved, inlaid w/ silver & brass (bidri ware)
L 9 1/4 in (23.5 cm)

Laughing my ass off about this. Sorry to be mean but if you unironically find "chat" to be LESS cringe than "folks" then you're cooked. Like there's just no hope for you.

Classic fishing vessel as they'd look 1900 - 1940s. This one is out of Frederikshavn in Northern Jutland, facing Kattegat. These vessels had diesel engines made locally... they'd have like 1 stroke every second.

5 years ago- Sharks and Rays class pt. 2 (‼️No sharks were harmed!! They were brought on board the research boat, measured, tagged, and released‼️)
Tiger sharks are my favorite species of shark with Great Hammerheads (also pictured) coming in second. Why? It's because of this experience right here. One of the outings we did during the class, took us out to the gorgeous water of the Gulf.
Until this day, I didn't realize there was an 'efficient' way to bait and catch sharks (we may have been doing it for research, but it doesn't escape my attention that sport fishers probably use this method too 😓😭). This method is termed: Bottom Longline Fishing. I can't begin to explain the process, as there's many different forms of it (Google could explain better lol).
For what we were doing, it's a pretty cool practice, one that allowed myself and fellow students to see wild sharks up close. Obviously, what caught my attention most were the juvenile Tiger sharks (an easy tell is how vivid their 'stripes' are) we were pulling up! Their skin against the backdrop of the teal water was stunning! I fell in love with their beauty instantly, so they will always have a special place in my heart🩶🦈🖤.
As far as the great hammerhead though, you see on tv when biologists and researchers call out measurements like 'Oh! We've got a 15 footer!' If you've ever watched Shark Week, that is common. Clearly 15ft is large, but until you see it with your own eyes, you can't fully comprehend just HOW large that is! Granted.. the one pictured was a female who only measured in at 8ft 😅 almsot half the size of a full grown hammerhead. It didn't take a lot of imagination to grasp how large she could have been, had she been mature. Humbling is the word I'd like to use to describe that experience. Even at 8ft, she was powerful and was almost too big to fit on the large scale at the back of the boat. True beauties of the ocean🦈🩶

Silly question time: what species of fish are you?
oh nO my time of reckoning is hERE AT LAST (I KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME!!!!!!!)
when i drew my avatar i was channeling "what a toddler imagines when they think generic fish" so no specific species there BUT if i were to start modelling myself after a real fish, it would probably be something like a dwarf pufferfish or lumpfish

-Sylvandre's Lamb-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
before he became the last lamb(sheep), Sylv was a father to a little lamb who was captured and taken from him, executed on the altar for the gods of the old faith.
Sylv only accepted the position as vessel to gain the power to bring his baby back, but in the process he realized that he didn't want his lamb to grow up in a world of cults and abusive gods.
so when he got the chance to give the crown back, he did just that. and left Narinder with the power he lusted for, rising to full godhood.
but this wasn't enough. Narinder couldn't handle Sylvandre not wanting to join his cult and adore him, so he hunted Sylv. at first it was for revenge, out of petty feelings of rejection, then it grew into a nastier beast. Nari needed to feel loved by Sylv, the only one in his world that didn't worship the ground he walked, he needed it more than anything in the world. he could have anything he wanted in this world, so why can't he have Sylvandre? why is he rejected time and time again? Nari needed something Sylv couldn't resist. and he knew just what that could be.
Sylvandre's lamb. his precious baby, ripped from the sleep of death by a god obsessed. Nari presents the lamb to their father, promising Sylv could have them back if he joined the cult. how could he say no? that would mean losing his baby twice.

Sylvandre's lamb is what would be The Lamb, the pc/mc, if they hadn't been executed at the young age of 10 winters. in Sylv's timeline, the Lamb dies young, leaving Sylv as the last sheep in the lands of the old faith, the last vessel of the red crown.
--
uh oh slutrinder fucked up big time
he thought he was going to play god and be loved for it but instead he made sylv hate him for real and girlie is going to have a mental breakdown. normally he'd cry into his silk pillows on his luxurious giant bed but this time it's more of a "scream, thrash and rip flesh from bone" type of breakdown
also he makes his sheep wear bells. little lamb has a bell cuz it's easier for nari and the twins to keep track of them. Sylv has a bell because Nari thinks it's "cute" (demeaning) and "a sign of his favor" (his possessiveness).

Food Bowl: Frigate Bird with Shark Melanesian, Solomon Islands, 20th c. Wood w/ inlaid mother-of-pearl, 8 7/8 x 9 1/4 x 28 1/4 in. (22.54 x 23.5 x 71.8cm) Seattle Art Museum 65.24
"A sequence of species in a food chain is commemorated in this bowl. In a season that lasts from November to April, fishermen watch for frigate birds, who follow schools of small bait fish and are signals that a school of bonito is coming. As the bonito and bait fish stir up whirlpools of frothy activity, sharks swarm behind and devour the residue. This vessel merges two species in their cycle of consumption and that serve humans in feasts."
