So, every time I watch that video where Fither roasts Matpat for his shit theory, I get this theory in my mind of what Teddie is.

Now, for starters, Teddie is a shadow. He's a shadow. That fuck, by all accounts, is a shadow. The difference is what shadow is he? That's the theory.

Basically, there are two types of shadows in Persona. The individual shadow (a shadow that applies to one specific person and all their issues) and the universal shadow (a shadow that applies to all of humanity). Teddie falls into the latter category.

But here's the thing: what do the universal shadows represent? Obviously, they're there just to be cannon fodder, but in context of a story, they must represent some aspect of humanity that is common enough to manifest.

The epic theory is that each universal shadow has one specific 'thing' they represent. For example, the Idol shadows represent faith in religion. It's hard to stretch this out to every universal shadow, but bear with me. Teddie, in particular, is a shadow representing the wish to be recognised. To be seen as a person. As such, this ends up with him gaining an ego of his own because he wants to be seen as a person so badly he becomes one because magic i guess.

Anyways, that's just a theory. A theory to get ripped apart (hopefully) (please discuss) (i mean 'ripped apart' in the best way possible)
