luztoye love languages - please give me in depth thoughts
>:)
i have soooo many thoughts on this and you are about to hear them. all. im breaking my knuckles and getting into this. all Love Languages Ranked In Order Of Strength. Luztoye Version <3
5 - words of affirmation:
first, with nicknames. toye tends to swing towards more traditional nicknames (sweetheart, beautiful, etc) and uses them pretty often
he feels like he's not exactly Great with talking, so putting what he can into words through nicknames is his best way to show luz what he's thinking without him becoming overly defensive
luz is. all over the map with nicknames. he ranges from the good ol' fashioned ‘no homo’ names (buddy/pal/etc) to the most unhinged nicknames he can think of (i.e. pillowcase) to Normal Nicknames. toye literally could not gaf less
ok and i mean like look. as far as weaknesses go, i think they're p far up there on the communication scale. these motherfuckers don't talk. u know that bit in himym where robin and barney never talk about their problems and instead just Fuck. bc that's what they do
4 - receiving gifts:
look. gift giving rarely crosses their minds. not because they don't care about it, but because they genuinely just don't think of it
when two people are in the same vicinity a lot/work together/are never separated - like in the army - there isn't a lot of room for grand gestures and gift giving and the likes
they settle into giving each other small things on holidays/birthdays (cigarettes, ticket stubs, etc) but it hardly matters whether or not someone says something or gives them something
3 - quality time:
melds into the above. they spend so much time together no matter where they are (from proximity in the army to post-war living together) that everything they do is in a love language, in a way
they'd watch a lot of movies. luz is literally obsessed with funny face when it comes out and has seen the gay divorcee Too Many Times. toye's favorite is you were never lovelier, he can quote most of the scenes. yes these are all fred astaire movies shh
they're the same way with music. they don't have a lot of money after the war, and what they can save goes into a turntable and whatever vinyls they can find.
it's mostly billie holliday (obviously). but there's a lot of duke ellington in there as well, and, later on, a bunch of eartha kitt.
2 - acts of service:
luz really, really likes working with his hands. he's obsessed with fixing things, and oftentimes, it's things that weren't even broken.
when he's stressed out, he tends to tear apart whatever he can find (the sink, the fridge, etc) and then trying to put it back together
this often translates into him subconsiously doing whatever he can to 'fix' toye
he doesn't even realize that he's doing it, really. toye does, but doesn't say anything, because he knows it's how luz finds whatever equilibrium he's working with
the general rule is that luz is able to fuck around with anything of toye's except for the crutches, the leg, or the chair. everything else is fair game
it almost is a game, at this point - the best way to tell what kind of day luz is having is by looking at the state of Disarray around the apartment
toye doesn't say anything about it, and it's often put back together the next day. when it's not, he puts it back together himself
1 - physical touch:
number one for luztoye always and forever for One Million Years. they r touchy, your honor.
most of their touches are small - hands on knees/shoulders, brushing along the backs of necks, etc. they're much more reserved in public, but those stick with them
i've included it in literally every single one of my luztoye wips, but toye is definitely the type of person to be like. Crush My Soul Back Into My Body.
luz is just genuinely a touchy person, all the time, and he tends to be uber touchy with toye. like a fucking octopus.
i could go nsfw sooooo quickly but like. i shall Withold and instead just say. i have Too Many Thoughts on this
thank you sooo much for the ask bestie! i truly had the greatest time contemplating this <33

Doc Holliday X Reader
A/N-This is my First ever post on here and my first ever time writing stuff like this, so sorry if its not that great. <3
Warnings- None
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a Regular night at the oriental, cowboys drinking, working girls doing there thing, and lots a gambling. I was at the faro table filling up drinks for the Earp’s and for Doc. I don’t know what it is between me and Doc,we’ve known each other for years but we aren’t together but we have some sort of weird relationship. My thoughts were interrupted by the Earp’s and Doc coming back to the table, “Thanks Y/N” Wyatt said sitting down at the table. I stood beside Doc as we watch the Card games take place.
Three Guys with Red sash’s walk into the Oriental looking to cause trouble, they walked up to table, one of them wearing a bright red shirt snatch’s the dollar bill out of Wyatt’s hand “Wyatt Earp huh, Heard about you” I then took a few step’s to get behind Doc just in case something happen, “Listen here now Mr Kansas Law dog Law dont go round here” said the third one. “Im retired” Wyatt said trying not to cause any Trouble “Good, Thats Real good” The one in the Bright red said while placing down chips, the Third then got real close to Wyatt “ Yeah, thats good, Mr. Law Dog, ‘cause law don’t go around here” “Yeah i heard you heard the first time, Winner to the King Five Hundred Dollars” I started to feel a little tense, I never like the Cowboys they always kinda scared me “ Shut up Ike” “You Must be Doc Holliday” I felt yourself get even more tense, “ Thats the Rumor” Doc said coughing a little bit “You retired too?” “Not me im in my Prime” Doc said strongly “Yeah, you look it” “ and You Must Ringo, Look darling Johnny Ringo” He said pointing at Ringo while looking at me, My heart starts to beat out of my chest “ The deadliest pistoleer since Wild Bill they say, what do you think darling should I hate him?” He said asking me “You don’t even know him” I said trying to act Calm that he called me ‘Darling’ “Yes, but theres just something about him, something around the eye’s I don’t know Reminds me of…Me, No im sure of it I hate him” he said before drinking “He’s drunk” Wyatt said to Ringo trying to keep it Calm and not break out a fight, “In vino Veritas” Doc said in some different Language “Age quod agis” I started to get more Scared of what was gonna happen next I took a few more steps behind Doc to get closer to the Earp’s, Doc and Ringo said more stuff in Latin I think, then Marshall Fred white stepped in “ Come on boys we Don’t want no trouble in here. Not in any Language” I look down to see Wyatt cocking a Gun under the Table, “Thats Latin Darlin’, Evidently Mr. Ringo an educated man, Now I really hate him” Ringo then pulls his gun at Doc making me Jump a little but Doc stood there like a statue, Ringo then Started teasing him by putting his gun down then pointing it back at him, Ringo them started to spin his gun around in the air, the bar started to yell and clap, he then holstered his gun and the bar got quiet waiting to see what Doc would do back at Ringo, Doc drank the rest of his Drink out of his cup before he started to spin it Around like a Gun Mocking Ringo, he then was done, the Bar clapped and laughed, All Ringo did was smile and walk away with the other 2 Cowboys over to the bar. “Hey Doc” I asked while Walking out of The Oriental back to the Hotel “Yes darlin’?” There was a little pause, “What are we?” I asked “well” theres was another pause, our faces got a little closer, he then pressed his soft lips against mine, I was shocked but then started to kiss him back, It almost felt like I had sparkss in my Body, I put my hands around his Neck as he put his around my waist, I wish that kiss would have lasted for ever but we pulled apart breathless, “Does that answer your Question darlin’?” He asked with a smirk on his face “ I think it does” I said smiling at him. __________________________________________ A/N- Sorry if that wasn’t the best, like a said it is my first time, if you have any Requests i would happily (Attempt) to Do them! <GIF is Not mine>
Scott Cousins at The (Alton) Telegraph:
EDWARDSVILLE – The Madison County Board took the step Wednesday night to pass a resolution that places a nonbinding advisory referendum regarding separating Chicago and Cook County from the rest of the state of Illinois. The referendum will be on the ballot for Madison County voters on Nov. 5.  The board passed the resolution by a 15-7 vote with little explanation from board members for supporting it. Voting in favor were Fred Michael, Stacey Pace, Frank Dickerson, Valerie Doucleff, Michael Turner, Robert Pollard, Mike Babcock, Terry Eaker, Mob Meyer, Denise Wiehardt, John Janek, Ryan Kneedler, Paul Nicolussi and Chris Guy. Of the 15 votes to pass the resolution, 14 came from Republicans. Pollard was the only Democrat to vote in favor of the resolution.  Most of the people voting in favor of the resolution gave no reason Wednesday night for their support of the resolution. Dickerson, R-Worden, and Eaker, R-Bethalto, both said voters in their districts were “overwhelmingly” in support of the referendum.
Voting no were Michael “Doc” Holliday, Bill Stoutenborough, Shawndell Wilson, Matt King, Victor Valentine, Alison Lamothe, and Nick Petrillo. Bobby Ross, Mick Madison, and Charles “Skip” Schmidt were absent. “I’m amazed this issue has come as far as it has,” Stoutenborough said. Stoutenborough said the idea of splitting the state was unpatriotic, a theme of several people during public speaking, and he stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, with some others on the board joining him. Stoutenborough tried to table the issue, but that motion failed by a vote of 12-10. The referendum will read “Shall the board of Madison County correspond with the boards of other counties of Illinois, outside of Cook County, about the possibility of separating from Cook County to form a new state and to seek admission to the Union as such, subject to the approval of the people?”
Last night, the GOP majority on the Madison County Board voted 15-7 on a nearly party-line vote to put the unpatriotic and economically ruinous separation referendum on the ballot in the November election. Robert Pollard was the lone Dem to vote in favor of putting it on the ballot.
The referendum is a symbolic vote, and I hope people vote against it come November.
Now-former Madco Dems chair Randy Harris said it best: "This is not a serious proposal."
I'm your huckleberry (Tombstone 1993) (Doc Holliday)
Description:
The joys of modern inventions and miracles are often taken for granted. Your hungry or thirsty? Get something from the fridge or make it. You need to go somewhere? Drive or call an uber. Your hurt? Go to the doctor.
Your bored? Watch a movie, play video games, watch videos on the internet, talk to people without ever leaving your house.
Some much time is in our hands... but back in the 19th century... you wouldn't last very long.
Diseases are rampant, gun violence is higher, no modern technology, barely any good medicine, almost all of your favorite food doesn't exist and most of the people are rude as hell. But... That doesn't mean all of them were so bad. Love was not something most people in this time really cared about. At least, in the town of Tombstone, Arizona.
After falling asleep with a nice looking stone you bought at a small stand at the carnival, your whole world becomes the opposite. Six people from the past discover you unconscious and alone in the blistering heat and offer help but it was their help that let you meet the most amazing man you've ever met.
John Henry "Doc" Holliday.
Chapter 4
Previous ~ Next
After dropping off the luggage from the wagon to the cottages, you and Wyatt along with his brothers headed out to explore the town. Wyatt had asked you to leave the cell phone in the cottage which you flat out refused to do and still wouldn't comply with wearing a dress to fit in with the crowd. He knew he wasn't going to convince you and just told you to keep it in your pocket.
As you all walked around, people would walk by and stare at you. But then continue on with their buisness. You wanted to take pictures of the buildings but that would be a dumb thing to do since everyone already noticed you and would spot you doing that. Wyatt went off somewhere and his brothers formed a sort of protection circle around you which you thought was nice but it was actually because they were keeping a strict eye on you since they didn't want you running around like a crazy person and getting hurt.
"Hey, Wyatt, get on over here" Morgan called out to him for him to come over. "I want you to meet Fred White. He's the town marshal". Fred White was an older man with noticeable white hair and he wore a hat that was similar to Sheriff Behans and also wore a badge. "My pleasure" Wyatt said as he shook his hand, "Lotta law around here". They retracted their hands and you all started to walk along. "I already met the county Sheriff".
"Who, Behan? He ain't no law. The only real law around here is the Cowboys" Fred White explained.
"Cowboys" Virgil said. "I had a run-in with a couple of them up in Prescott".
"Nobody does nothin' without 'em. I mean, they're it. There are four of 'em right over there". Fred White pointed across the street to four cowboys. One was sitting talking to a woman, another was also talking to another woman and the other two were speaking to Sheriff Behan. "You can always spot a Cowboy. They always wear those red sashes". You continued on walking. "The main fact is the Cowboys are good for buisness".
"'Bout all these Saloons" Wyatt asked.
"Oh thats the real mother lode here in Tombstone. All up and down Allen St. here. Twenty four hours a day, you got Liquor, hostesses, gamblin', makin' money hand-over-fist" Fred White said.
"Oohh" you said getting their attention, "I think I'm gonna like it here". Morgan just chuckled and Wyatt rolled his eyes. Fred looked at you a bit strangely but continued on with the conversation. He was already introduced to you. "All except "THE ORIENTAL"", Fred pointed to a Saloon across the street that had said name. "That's a regular slaughterhouse. Even the high rollers won't go near it". You all walked towards it until you were all standing in the middle of street. "That's too bad too. It's a nice place. Hell of a waste".
You looked over and saw Wyatt staring at the building until he decided to walk across the street to go inside. "There he goes. 'Ol Wyatt" Virgil said. "Do we..?" The three men looked at you. "Do we follow him"?
"No. Let him work his magic" Morgan said. Fred White had to leave so it left you with Virgil and Morgan. "Alright, (y/n)" Virgil said, "Stay close". You followed after them as they continued walking around. "I wish I could take a picture of this place".
"Well don't" Virgil warned, "Keep that thing out sight. Don't want nobody thinkin' your crazy".
"I'm already crazy though" you said happily. Once again, Morgan laughed. "My God, that you are. That you are". You just laughed along with him. "I gotta ask though" Morgan said quietly, "Can you tell me a little bit about the future"? You were about to answer but Virgil cut you off before you could speak. "Not out here. Someone could be listenin'".
"Alright" you said but then said, "I'll tell you about it back at the cottages". They agreed and as you all continued walking, Wyatt came from behind and said, "Well, were off and runnin'. Just acquired us a quarter interest in a game at the "Oriental"".
"Acquired" Virgil asked.
"So to speak. Now all we gotta do is keep our eyes on that brass ring, fellas".
"You're the one, Wyatt" Morgan said. It was then that a new voice called out, "Why, Johnny Tyler"! You all turned to look and who you saw made you freeze in shock. It was the same man you saw that is your supposed soul mate. Same details and everything. Your mouth hung open and you didn't move a muscle. Was it really "Doc" Holliday? "You madcap"!
"Doc" said the man known as Johnny Tyler who also had a shotgun in his hands.
"Where you goin' with that shotgun" asked the man as he stepped forward.
"I didn't know you was back in town" Johnny Tyler said. Doc stopped in front of you and, of course, saw the woman in strange clothing but beautiful nonetheless. "Well well" Wyatt said. "How the hell are you"?
"Wyatt, I am rolling. Morgan" Doc said shaking Morgans hand. "Doc" Morgan greeted. "Virgil" he said shaking his hand and Virgil greeted him back. Now all that was left was you. "And who might this young lady be"? You just stood there beside Morgan and Wyatt and only managed to say, "I... I'm-- I'm at a loss for words".
"I see. And why is that"?
"Wyatt Earp" Johnny Tyler said as if in shock himself which made him and Doc smile. "Well madam" Doc said, "Who might you be"? You still didn't respond but your face started to turn red. Oh God he was even cuter than you thought. "Oh my" Morgan said, "Look at her. Her face is turning red. You embarrassed"? The men started laughing.
"Shut up, Morgan"! You said punching him in the arm. "Alright, Morgan, lay off her" Wyatt said. "Doc, this is (Y/n) (l/n). She's with us".
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, (y/n)" he said extending his hand to you. You accepted it but he grasped it and brought it up to his mouth to place a gentle kiss upon it which made your heart explode and even said "Ravishin'" as he released your hand. "Going into buisness for ourselves, Doc" Morgan explained, "Wyatt just got us a Faro game".
"Oh. Since when is Faro a buisness" Doc asked and taking a puff off of his cigarette.
"Didn't you always say that gambling's an honest trade" Wyatt asked.
"No. I said poker's an honest trade. Only suckers buck the tiger's odds all on the house".
"Depends on how you look at it. I mean, it's not like anybody's puttin' a gun to their head, now is it"?
"That's what I love about Wyatt" Doc laughed and extending his hand to shake Wyatt's hand once again. "He can talk himself into anything". They all laughed softly together but you looked over and saw Johnny staring at you all, you in particular, and making you uncomfortable. "Alright buddy" you said getting all their attention and they quickly noticed you were talking to Johnny. "You're really starting to creep the hell out of me, so go away". Johnny wasn't expecting a very demanding tone from a woman and started getting defensive. "I don't take orders from women-"
"COME SAY THAT TO MY FACE, BITCH"! All of them were in shock. "Woah woah woah" Morgan said trying to calm you down and seeing how mad you were getting. "(Y/n), calm down". Wyatt and Virgil were appalled by that, Morgan was scared but Doc was impressed and a bit shocked. "Johnny, I forgot you were there. You may go now" Doc said dismissively.
"Just leave that shotgun" Wyatt said and holding your arm to keep you back from Johnny. "Yeah" you said mockingly. Johnny was hesitant to drop the gun but you just wouldn't stop egging him on. "Drop it" you said like you were commanding a dog. "Droooppp it... Drooooppp it" you said making the men laugh. Johnny dropped the gun. "Good boy! Now fuck off"! Doc couldn't believe what he was hearing, a woman who could curse a man out so bravely with no fear? Now that's his kind of woman.
Johnny walked away and Doc spoke. "I have to ask, where did you learn words like that"?
"Oh please, that's not even the worst thing I can say".
"I suppose I'll have to trust you on that".
"You know (Y/n)" Wyatt said, "Maybe you should tell him where you come from". You looked at him with worry and didn't know if it was a good idea but you then said, "You tell him and I'll show him". Doc was confused by what was happening and both Morgan and Virgil knew that this would get awkward. "Tell me what"?
"Listen" Wyatt said getting a bit closer to Doc, "I think you can obviously tell shes not from around here but there's a reason for that".
"What's the reason" Doc asked getting concerned. Wyatt motioned for you to come closer and you had then pulled your phone out. "Look". You were concealed and you showed your cell phone by selecting different apps and then opening up your music app. "She's from the future" Wyatt said feeling like a fool for even saying these words. Doc looked at the phone and wasn't sure what to make of it until he heard sound coming from it. It wasn't loud but it was surely magical. It sounded like music. "What is that thing"?
"My cell phone. It's meant for people to talk with each other, no matter how far away they are from each other. But since there's no service out here and I'm the only one in the world who has one right now, it may seem useless but it's not". Doc reached out to touch it but ended up changing the song.
"She doesn't know how she got here but our wives convinced us to bring her with us" Morgan added. You quickly stopped the music, put your phone away and took a step back and the small protection circle was broken. "It's incredible" Doc said.
"Oh that's nothing" Morgan said, "You know what year she's from? 2021"! Doc wasn't sure what to say but now had a million questions. "Well" Doc started, "I hope it's more civilized than here".
"Not really. It's kinda complicated-"
"Wyatt" Virgil said getting his attention, "Sheriff's comin' over".
"No more future talk" Wyatt said quietly for you all to hear. "Sheriff Behan" Wyatt called out. "Have you met Doc Holliday"?
"Piss on you, Wyatt" Doc said annoyingly which made you laugh a bit. Sheriff Behan came over and you stood next to Wyatt. "Mr. Holliday" Sheriff Behan greeted and held out his hand for Doc to shake but he only replied with, "Forgive me if I don't shake hands".
Sheriff Behan retracted his hand and spoke to Wyatt. "So, how's our little town suit you"?
"Fine, fine. You know what I was thinking, what this town could really use is a race track".
"Really? That's not a bad idea" Sheriff Behan replied. "Send a signal were growin' up".
"Way ahead of yourselves, aren't you boys" Doc said. "This is just another mining camp".
"Have you seen how everyone dresses? Awful tony for a mining camp", Sheriff Behan said proudly. "No sir! The die is cast. We are growin'. Be as big as San Francisco in a few years and just as sophisticated-"
Right as the sheriff stopped talking, a gunshot went off across the street which made Wyatt push you behind him and Doc stood next to you quickly with his hand on his gun and still smoking that cigarette. A man emerged from the saloon across the street with blood coming from his neck as he clutched it and three men came out with their guns drawn. The men around you looked ahead and you could see that the Earp brothers were starting to form a protection circle around you. The man with blood coming from his neck fell to the ground and one of them raised their guns only to be shot dead. Many people were watching and you heard Doc say, "Very cosmopolitan".
"I know right. So fancy" you said trying to pretend that this didn't happen but that little remark made Doc smile at you. Sheriff Behan glanced at you and Doc and then Wyatt spoke. "I know him. That's Creek Johnson". The two men with their guns out looked across the street and saw you all. "Wyatt? Doc"? Doc waved them over and the protection circle around you was broken. "Jack" Wyatt greeted. "What the hell's that all about, Creek"?
"He crawfished a bet and called me a liar" the man known as Creek said.
"Sheriff" Doc said, "May I present to you a pair of fellow sophisticates. Turkey Creek Jack Johnson and Texas Jack Vermilion. Watch your ear, Creek". You saw that Creeks ear was bloody and then Fred White had came over to speak. "Afraid I'll have to have those guns".
"It was a fair fight. We was legal" Creek said.
"I'm sorry, boys. I gotta take 'em before Judge Spicer. Hand 'em over". The two handed their guns over and Morgan decided to say, "Law and order everytime, that's us". The sounds of galloping horses were heard and you all looked over to see a huge carriage with six horses pulling it. "I wish I had a horse" you said. They all then looked at you. "How do you not have one" Sheriff Behan asked dumbfounded.
"Her horse died" Wyatt lied.
"Oh. Well, I'm sorry madam. If you'd like, our Corrals are sure to give you a new one for a reasonable price".
"Oh-- uhh... Yeah, thank you" you said.
"What kind of town is this" Virgil asked.
"Nice scenery" Morgan said as he looked at the carriage that arrived to see a beautiful woman in a nice grey dress and with an orange umbrella for the sun. "Well" Doc said, "an enchanted moment". They continued staring at her until you cleared your throat to reel them back to reality. "You guys ok? If you like her so much go ask her out on a dat-- oh wait! Nevermind, your all married. My bad" you said which just made Morgan gently slap your arm with a laugh and the other men, Fred White, Sheriff Behan, Creek Johnson, Texas Jack had left.
"Well" Doc said to you to get your attention. "Unlike my other fellow sophisticates, I am not married and as such, I'd like to accompany you to the Birdcage Theater tonight". The Earp brothers looked at Doc in confusion but you were ecstatic. "Theater? You mean like live Theater"?
"That's what I mean. What say you, darlin'"? You starting to blush again and in a very excited tone, you said, "Yes, I'd love too" but your tone changed, "But uh.. I hope you don't mind but I won't wear a dress".
"Why is that? Have they... fallen out of style in your time"?
"No. I just don't like wearing them. They make my skin crawl and it's just not me".
"I see" Doc said eyeing your current outfit. "Is this how others dress"?
"Most but not all".
"Hmmm... Well, dress or no dress, I'll still take you".
"That'd be amazing! I'd love too"!
"Well then" Doc gently took your hand and kissed it delicately, "I'll see you tonight darlin'".
"Yeah. I'll see you tonight" you said smiling so happily and it made Doc smile back. "Gentlemen" Doc said as a departure and walked away. You turned to the Earp brothers and they looked confused but you couldn't help yourself. "I... HAVE A DATE"!
"Don't yell" Virgil said.
"I'm sorry" you said trying to relax, "I'm just so excited! I haven't been on a date in "God knows how long". Not only that, but with a hot guy"!
"Ok ok, keep your voice down" Wyatt said, "I think we've done our job for now. Let's get back to the cottages". You all agreed and started to make your way back to the cottages. Wyatt had mentioned that he would get a start with his new Faro business tonight after the theater since people will come to the Saloons for drinks afterwards.
Cesar Romero and Nancy Kelly in Frontier Marshal (Allan Dwan, 1939)
Cast: Randolph Scott, Nancy Kelly, Cesar Romero, Binnie Barnes, John Carradine, Edward Norris, Eddie Foy Jr., Ward Bond, Lon Chaney Jr., Chris-Pin Martin, Joe Sawyer. Screenplay: Sam Hellman, based on a book by Stuart N. Lake. Cinematography: Charles G. Clarke. Art direction: Lewis H. Creber, Richard Day. Film editing: Fred Allen. Music: Samuel Kaylin, Charles Maxwell, David Raksin, Walter Scharf.
The title Frontier Marshal sounds like a generic Western, and it doesn't lie. It's about a stranger who comes to a lawless mining town and cleans it up with his fists and his guns. The stranger, played by Randolph Scott, is Wyatt Earp, and the movie is based on Stuart N. Lake's heavily fictionalized 1931 biography of Earp that established his legend as the man who cleaned up Tombstone by fighting it out with the bad guys at the OK Corral. So yes, you've seen it all before, in later and more celebrated films like John Ford's My Darling Clementine (1946) and John Sturges's Gunfight at the OK Corral (1957). Allan Dwan's film (from which Ford borrowed liberally) is a more modest affair. The famous gunfight in the movie  is almost over before it starts. Nor is Scott's Earp a particularly mythic figure; he even gets seriously beat up before he's able to seize authority in the town. If there's a mythic figure in Frontier Marshal it's Doc Halliday*, played with surprising charm and finesse by Cesar Romero. The character of Earp is also overshadowed by two women: Jerry (Binnie Barnes), a tough-as-nails dance hall hostess, and Sarah (Nancy Kelly), a nurse who has followed her former lover, Doc, to Tombstone, trying to save him from himself. Refreshingly, the two women are given significant agency in the movie, beyond just battling for Doc's affections. What distinguishes Dwan as a director is that he never seems to take for granted the material he's given to work with. Yes, Frontier Marshal is generic and predictable, but Dwan doesn't condescend to it: He gives the scenes snap and vigor, and he gets performances that are in some ways better than they're written. Barnes, for example, turns Jerry into a force to be reckoned with. It took me a moment to recognize her as the same actress who played the snooty Linda Cram in Holiday (George Cukor, 1938). Kelly's Sarah isn't the pallid schoolmarm played by Cathy Downs in My Darling Clementine, but a woman out to get her man. And if Romero, usually a lounge lizard type, ever gave a better performance I haven't seen it. I could have done with less of Eddie Foy Jr., clownishly playing his own father, and Chris-Pin Martin's milking of the stereotypical Chicano bartender role, but they keep the film lively. Scott is less memorable than the other players, but he provides a quiet stability to the film.
Usually spelled "Holliday," but the alternate spelling was used, reportedly because of concern about litigation from the Holliday family.
asktheotherfrance, a 10 years retrospective (aka, the fred lore)
I have created this blog ten years ago as of today, though it was actually my second 2p France ask blog.
Back in 2012, I was growing tired of all portrayals of 2p!France being this ashy blonde depressed drunkard named François Bonnefoy. Like, 2p!England’s name was not just one letter away from Arthur, back then, it was almost unanimously Oliver, and he had a unique design too ! So I decided I would create my own 2p!France, named Stéphane.
Tumblr media
(september 3rd 2012, this also includes my 3p France Armand, and my 4p France JB. We don’t talk about Armand.)
But back then there was actually another 2p France named Stéphane with a similar design to mine, so, on november 17th, I removed Stéphane from existance, and two days later, Christophe (who would later become Fred) was created.
Tumblr media
that drawing was posted exactly 10 years ago !!!!!!
Chris had many cats, many of which were references to youtubers my cringe ass 14 years old self liked, or just some french stuff. He used to have a skull necklace, based on me watching a certain minecraft youtuber’s skyrim let’s play... As well as his love for cats, and his pyromanic tendencies...
Tumblr media
y’all remember dokitalia ? On january 13th, 2013, Fred/Chris stopped parting his hair on the middle.
Tumblr media
dark times.
These are mainly deviantart things, due to me kind of deleting many posts from the tumblr blog, Fred’s history is mainly found on dA nowadays.
Fred went through many names, Christophe Bonnefoy, Christophe Bonnardel, Eugène Terris Calendal Rossard, and currently Frédéric Calendal Rossard. I consider the first names Christophe, Eugène and Frédéric to be names Fred bore in different time periods. I gave him the middle name Calendal, because I assume that nations are too old to remember their birthdays and just later pick their national holliday out of convenience, but Fred would have been born during the calendae of july, making him a leo.
Tumblr media
Very early, as early of july 3rd 2013, I started shipping 2p!RusFra, I used to have a lot of rps with one 2p Russia back then. But Fred, through his blogs, has been involved with 2p England, 2p Finland and 2p Scotland as well if you look deep enough.
Tumblr media
fred’s last name “Rossard” (red-ish) comes from his hair being “red-ish”.
Tumblr media
FRED ROSSARD IS A VALID HOMEST-
Ahem, where was I...
Tumblr media
Fred has cats. Don’t ask about the yellow cat’s name. I was cringe. These are all cringe, but I do not want to aknowledge the yellow cat.
Fred has had 2 kids due to magical anons !
Tumblr media
Catherine
Tumblr media
Camille
The year I peaked in was 2016, where I hit 700 followers, back then, I used to post historical facts each wednesday !
Tumblr media
Then I went on a huge hiatus, back then, my trademark was... ask blogs without pants.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
fred’s clothes have always involved badly translated french puns, hidden references to my current fandoms, or french memes. I am very silly and quite cryptic.
Then I returned from my hiatus, and made 2p Rusfra canon on my main blog... heh.
This was a nice retrospective, hope it was not too boring !
Take Wyatt Earp as a biopic and it is a superb and fair film. Compare it to Tombstone which was more of a Western and it’s lacking the flair. However, it ends abruptly, and it is miscast. Cosner (and i am a fan) doesn’t really make a good Earp. Dennis Quaid who I am also a fan of, doesn’t make a good Doc. This was 1994, in the 80s I might have a dif...
