If it’s not too much of a spoiler, what is Zelda and Link’s relationship like in FWAU?

Hi anon 😊 Not a spoiler at all, i will never make content for this in a chronological manner because it’s being going on for over a decade and I just don’t have the means to sit down and write it as one big fic. I like to make content all across it’s timeline.

Zelda x Link was one of my first ever ships and will be endgame, I’ve always loved them.

The main focus of FWAU is how Zelda and Link deal with the world that doesn’t remember what happened and what they personally sacrificed. Those connected to the magical plane (the Sages, the Fae ect. do), Zelda grew up with dealing with the destruction of Hyrule as she hid with Impa whereas Link was essentially thrust into the later part of the war with the mind of a child. As a result when she was masquerading as Sheik and helping Link on his journey to awaken the Sages she still saw him as her childhood friend and treated him as a child. Link viewed her as his important friend (because again, child)

After the timeline is reset Zelda sends Link on his way hoping that he can still live and experience his childhood and grow up in peace but as she is an adult back in a child’s body she is well beyond that. Of course Link then goes through Termina and some later skirmishes and wars so by the time he returns to Hyrule an adult he is just mentally and emotionally destroyed.

Zelda is seen as being Ice-cold (and mature beyond her years) by the Court, because she has experienced a whole life of war where she was literally Ganondorf’s trusted Assassin (and had actually killed several members of the Court). When her childhood friend returns she becomes extremely protective because of her personal guilt. She has always had prophetic dreams and memories because she is literally the reincarnated Goddess. She is painfully aware that she has been the one who has essentially trapped Link in this repeating destiny of War and pain. 

Link has in turn really abused the Ocarina of Time (because of Termina) and part of the fallout of that is that his sense of Time is shattered. He has reset and altered time so much that it is impossible to calculate his true mental age. He has moments of memory from different eras and can’t always differentiate when he is. Since he and Zelda are so intrinsically connected by their souls, they have had lifetimes of friendship, respect and as lovers. So even though they haven’t been lovers yet in this era, the love for each other is still very deep seated, it has taken many forms over Time.

So basically their love does grow over the course of the AU into physical love but especially at the start it is very focussed on them being reliant on each others company for emotional support. Zelda wants to protect him from being involved in further turmoil to stop him from suffering anymore but at the same time he won’t let her face things alone. They just need to be together because no one else can understand.

They are both aware of what they could be, what they have been, but also that it is impossible in the current timeline because no one remembers who they truely are. Zelda wants him to find peace and believes that can only be achieved if he is as far away from her life as possible. But at this stage the only peace they are both capable of having is when they are with each other.

Disguised FWau Raphie designs...i guess.

I cannot believe i spent 2 days fighting with this before just deciding to give him ninja attire.

ANYWAYS!

the thought behind this is that the form of shapeshifting Mama has (and passed down to Raph) is more defensive than anything. They're supposed to look as small and defenseless so no one would expect they would be, well, not. (it is also very useful to trick people) Also whatever clothing they were wearing in their non-human form changes what they're human form is wearing.

Therefore, Raph's shifted 'human disguise' is small, shorter then even Mikey or April. Size, shape, and hair color were inherited from Mama's human form while his eyes and skin color came from Lou. Clothing wise, what's above is what shows up if he shifts while in his standard ninja gear. He could change how the clothes appear with practice (or just physically switching outfits) but, he's still struggling to switch normally on command.

(design notes, i so wanted to give him a ponytail but when i drew it with this face, it started looking like 12 april and that was not the vibe i wanted for a human disguised Raph.)

I missed this months’s MCC and am getting through the VOD, and it gave me a funny thought for the FWAU bc it lives in my head rent free:

The Captain, even though being the most villainous man in the city, is known to rarely swear in public, some aren’t sure if he’s ever. that is until a particular day where he’s already mad and Philza pushes him off the ledge of a building in battle, causing him to curse for what is believed to be one of the first times in his career.

Oh he basically doesn’t swear yeah

Parents are very torn they want to tell their kids to be like the heroes but all of them have incredibly vulgar mouths, and then there’s the biggest villain over there censoring a curse with ‘fork’
