I visited Cairo and bought one of them man dresses. I like to wear it outside in white people country I live in.

Once an older gentleman working at a store I go to stopped me and asked “Excuse me, where did you get that from?” I told him Cairo. His eyes go wide, his face brightens, then he starts pointing at himself excitedly repeating “I am from Cairo, I am from Cairo!”

So I started to wear it more often when I went to that store, he would get so happy. If I wasn’t wearing it he would pretend to be mad and ask why I wasnt wearing the thawb.
