I’ve never been one for vent art, but I felt I needed this after everything.

Clyde means the absolute world to me. I don’t know why, but thinking about him is the one thing that makes me cry despite everything else, even as I’m writing this. Not real life, not any other OC, even Onyx. Just him.

He isn’t real, but I imagine what he would think after what happened. Part of me tried to imagine him resenting me, but I know he just wouldn’t.

Being an autistic person, I am certain that every single one of my OCs are neurodivergent-coded, but Onyx and Joey are my two canonically autistic characters, so I wanted to draw them for Disability Pride Month! <3

Onyx babysits Joey and picks him up from school when Kyle is busy! You can’t tell, but he is actually very happy and content!

(Also it’s so funny to me that Joey’s design is made up of 6 colours and took me 10 minutes while Onyx’s took me hours lmao /pos.)

Clyde - When he overheard someone who Lucas (his husband) considered a good friend talk shit behind his back about his mannerisms and past. Clyde is by no means a violent person, but that person ended up in the medical wing with a broken nose. Lucas will lightheartedly mention him every so often, and it still gets Clyde fuming.

Onyx - He has so many. Anything involving his birth family minus his sister, but especially his ex, Ace. Thinking about that bastard in any form usually warrants a visit to the junkyard to beat the shit out of an old car he'd rather imagine as him.

Onyx isn’t the best at conventional smiling. Their genuine smile is a sincere, tiny expression compared to this lmaoo. And yes, this is the face they pulled in every single school photo growing up when the photographer wouldn’t accept his neutral face. No one can tell if he does it out of spite or not.

For Milo: What was your character’s favorite toy as a child? Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success?

Milo's favourite toy was a cloth dog aptly named "Puppy"! His mother, Chani, made it for him while pregnant, so it's been with him his entire life. It was made from plain brown fabric with mismatched button eyes and filled with cloth scraps! Although Milo doesn't carry Puppy everywhere anymore because they're old and floppy, they remain a bedtime companion!

As for what Milo idealises, it definitely is happiness. He and his community lead humble lives with his mother's generation enjoying peace and certainty. Milo was raised to nurture and love what he has. Chani fought so hard for him to live a life where he never had to wish for more food, safety, or shelter, so he's grown up content. <3
