Ted (2012)

This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.

Ted has brief scenes with lightning at night, which use strong strobe effects. In a party scene, there are brief, rapid edits that create a strobe effect. A late scene briefly shows emergency vehicle strobe lights.

Some scenes use handheld cameras with mild shaking.

Flashing Lights: 5/10. Motion Sickness: 4/10.

SUMMARY:

The Likeness of Mirrored Souls is an AU that follows a retelling of the TMNT 2012 series with the addition of Hamato Giovanni and Rose Jones (and is also referred to as the TMNT 2012 Twins AU)

TLOMS is a growing multiverse that includes a human au, pirate au, several bad ending / evil aus and more, which will be featured on this blog!

Giovanni (aka Van / Vanni) is Leonardo's identical twin, after Splinter accidentally bought 5 turtles instead of 4 that fateful day. Green masked and user of the shuang gou (Chinese Hook Swords), he's the team medic, [shared] eldest of five brothers and uses any pronouns!

Roselyn (aka Rose / Ro) is Casey's fraternal (and depending on the au, adopted) twin, who may be a Faerie with magic she struggles to understand, or a merfolk, or a human, but in all verses is raised as a Jones through and through! Predominantly pink and never seen without either a baseball bat or boxing gloves close by, pink is here to kick ass and take names, one of three, and uses she/he/pink pronouns!

Daffy: Technically, I was only captain for two years, then I was viciously mutinied upon.

Giovanni Jones: Then you were a poor captain, but a captain nonetheless! Have you not introduced yourself all these years as Captain Daffy Duck? [his crew laughs]

Daffy: [referring to Bugs] You have my payment. One sthoul to stherve on your ship is already over there.

Giovanni Jones: One soul is not equal to another.

Daffy: Aha! Stho we've ethstablished my proposal is sthound in printhciple, now we're just haggling over prithce.

Giovanni Jones: Price?

Daffy: Just how many sthouls do you think my sthoul is worth?

[Jones considers this, then smirks]

Giovanni Jones: One hundred souls, three days.

Daffy: You're a diamond, bub. Sthend me back the rabbit, I'll get sthtarted right off. [Elmer blocks his way]

Giovanni Jones: I keep the rabbit. A good-faith payment. That leaves ye only ninety-nine more to go [laughs]

Daffy: Have you not met Bugs Bunny? He's noble, heroic, terrific sthoprano. Worth at least four... maybe three and a half. And did I happen to mention... he's in love? [Jones pauses] With a girl. Due to be married. Betrothed. Dividing him from her and her from him would only be half as cruel as actually allowing them to be joined in holy matrimony, eh?

[Jones considers this, then hardens his expression]

Giovanni Jones: I keep the rabbit, ninety-nine souls! But I wonder, Duck, can you live with that? Can you condemn an innocent rabbit, a friend, to a lifetime of servitude in your name- while you roam free?

Daffy: [thinks for a second, then grins] Yep. I'm good with it! Shall we sthign it in blood... or, uh, ink? [Jones grabs Daffy's marked hand with his tentacled hand, covering it in slime]

Giovanni Jones: [removes Daffy's Black Spot] Three days.

[Giovanni Jones and his crew disappear]

Daffy: Oh, Mr. Piggs.

Piggs (Porky): Aye.

Daffy: Uh, I feel sthullied and unusual.

Piggs: And h-h-how do you intend to harvest these n-n-99 souls in th-th-th-three days?

Daffy: Fortunately, he was mum as to the condition in which these sthouls need be.

Piggs: Ah...T-t-t-t-tortuga.

Daffy: [wipes his slimed hand on Piggs' vest] Tortuga.

Where 'The Offer' really shines is with its brilliant ensemble cast. Seriously, this is one of the best casts you will see all year. Miles Teller (who is having a banner year) is great as the lead Albert Ruddy. Dan Fogler (who is largely known for comedy films) flexes his acting muscles as Francis Ford Coppola and fits the role surprisingly well. Juno Temple can do no wrong as is a key component of the show as Ruddy’s ultra smart, life saving assistant Bettye McCartt. The always reliable Giovanni Ribisi makes an impression as the mobster Joe Colombo. Last, but certainly not least is Matthew GoodE as Robert Evans. Anyone who knows anything about the producer or has seen “The Kid Stays In The Picture” will be floored by GoodE’s mesmerizing portrayal. If it were up to me, he would win an Emmy for this role.
