I just realized why Rocket gets so pissed at Drax for nearly getting them all killed for revenge in volume 1
He blames himself for not taking Floor and Teefs and just running after Lylla got shot.
"That's no excuse to get everyone else dead along the way" he says, recalling that when he took revenge for one friend it led to two more dying.

Can we talk about the difference in how Peter's alcoholism and depression was handled in vol 3 in contrast to Thor's in endgame??? Like hello?!?!? For a millisecond I was worried they were gonna treat Peter like a joke but immediately they showed us the worry in all the guardians for his state, Nebula carried him and put him in bed and they all make sure he was ok, and even later they were talking about how worried they are and how they can help him, no jokes about his physical condition or anything like that and him being passed out drunk wasn't framed as funny but as heartbreaking and also they showed us Nebula being rightfully mad at Peter's actions and him taking responsibility on it and started trying to heal and becoming better, they all love him so much I just can't

I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet. Towards the end of Guardians vol 3, when Rocket sees Lilah, Teefs, and Floor again, they're not "whole." All four of them still have their enhancements. To me, this detail is so important.
As disabled people, we have a history of being told that, when we die, when we go to heaven, all of our illnesses, deformities, ways of being in the world will be gone. We will be cured. But for many of us, we don't want to be cured. If there is an afterlife, and I'm not autistic, I wouldn't even know the first thing about how I would exist as that. More importantly, I wouldn't be myself.
Like disabled people, Rocket, Lilah, Teefs, and Floor didn't get to choose their existence, their bodies, their minds. They were made that way and, very realistically, could not imagine being any other way, despite their pain and suffering. Even in most modern media, disability is a plot device that, when its purpose has been served, gets cured or written out of the narrative. Having all four of them being disabled in the afterlife is so goddamned important.

Anyone else find it super sweet that the zune initially belonged to Yondu, was given to Peter, and then was given to Rocket. Which means that Rocket now owns a piece of something that was found by one of the first people who ever understood him outside of batch 89.
This movie is gonna find a way to make me cry forever.

Best gag in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was the High Evolutionary needing a box to stand on because Elizabeth Debicki is just that tall.

What’s special about guardians of the galaxy as well is I think it manages to walk the fine line of having death be present and something that could very much happen to our main characters but also choosing to keep them all alive at the end of the trilogy. Not only is it nice to see finished arcs but I’ve never once felt as if the stakes were not high in these films and could not result in a main character death. James Gunn does a good job at showing he isn’t afraid to go there with what happened with Yondu at the end of gotg 2 (and providing a very meaningful death to him beneficial to his arc) and to an extension even shows this with rockets friends (lyla teeths floor) in the third film. I 100% felt as if multiple guardians would die I’m this film and whilst it did come close everyone made it out okay! This is a change from what we see in previous media where the line has pushed to one side too much where it can get annoyingly repetitive and boring because there is no tension or, death can happen too frequently that it’s a joke.

Early in the film, Peter tells Gamora about how Gamora wants to have a family and that it’s not the Ravagers but the Guardians. Then there are a couple of hugs between Guardians that Gamora isn’t a part of because she isn’t a part of their family right now. When Peter and Groot hug Rocket after he’s revived. Then later when everyone hugs Peter after he almost dies. Gamora even walks away during that hug because she doesn’t feel like part of that family yet and let’s them have their moment. But Gamora finally gets to be the center of her own group hug when she reunites with the Ravagers. Peter was wrong. She’s happy and complete with the family that she’s found since finding herself displaced out of time. I believe that eventually Gamora will find her way back to becoming family with the original Guardians again. But for right now she’s happy and where she wants to be. It’s just a neat parallel that I noticed.

SPOILERS FOR GOTG3
I NEED to talk about how during the last big scene of moving the kids to the home ship, Peter asks Nebula "where's rocket?!" And how SCARED she looks?? She's immediately worried and panicked when she notices Rocket's no where to be found. My heart.
Not only that, but when they went back for him, it wasn't just her going back into the dying ship to find him, it was ALL OF THEM. Everyone immediately went back into a ship about to explode because they couldn't leave one of their own.
God this movie destroyed me
