At this point, I'm just going to assume that Pearl is dating Rose and Greg is dating Rose and Rose is dating both of them and she's poly. (Keep in mind that I am solely a tapas reader so you could have said something here and I would be non the wiser)

That wouldn’t be wrong, per se, but it’s not exactly correct either. 

The thing is, although I would WANT them to ideally be a healthy poly v, they’re not really there yet, you know? It’s messy. Rose and Pearl have just been there for each other for a long time, and they’ve always been together. But Rose has flings, and Pearl has historically been alright with tolerant of that, because she knows it’s never super serious and will fade away whenever the human leaves/passes. 

But with Greg, for the first time, it IS serious. Rose relates to him in a way she cannot relate to anyone else; call it whatever you want - they vibe, and they’re in love. And it doesn’t mean she doesn’t love Pearl, but it’s just different with them both, and Rose doesn’t really know how to navigate it well. She’s not exactly the healthiest individual when it comes to relationships - she’s got really horrible coping mechanisms when it comes to conflict. 

It’s something that I know I’ve been keeping on the back burner since season 2, and it WILL eventually come to a head. I’m just focusing on a few other things right now.
