i wanna write up a primer on my flightrising lore or whatever one day cus holy fucking shit do i have so much of it in my head but the issue is its like . i have been building this specific lore for maybe 5/6 years of my life i have So Much of it i have no idea how to narrow it down into a coherent thing for other people to get a grasp on . what if you locked 100 of the most incoherent and insane people into a small castle in the middle of a field made up exclusively of viscera and rot and bones. thats the lore i guess.

Flight rising TMA Fandragons pt 1 of 3

So i’ve been working on transforming the tma cast into silly little dragons ^^ jon was my first i planned out in july of last year. Its been a Very fun and Deeply expensive little collection which is still ongoing. The colors for these are in the alt text ^^

Jons skin was made by yours truly and was single handedly one of my most expensive items to buy, it features all his mentioned scars (or most anyways-) his burnt hand, teethmarks from daisy over his neck, and although they cant be seen with his outfit stab marks from michael. I thought a green theme fit him well given the podcasts coverart. I figured with the amount of stress this dude goes through a spiral was a perfect fit.

Martin was rather difficult to find the correct colors for at the time. I wanted him to carry pieces of his past with him (a locket from his mother, a coat from his internship with peter lukas and his tea set) i wanted him to be a Protector so i thought an obby was a good choice

Tim was Beyond fun and So So difficult, i wanted to play around with the idea of him becoming an avatar of the desolation after his demise and made him out of Wax and fire. Unfortunately they Still don’t have Hawaiian style shirts in FR so i had to compromise. I gave him some carnival wear to show its still Part of him

Sasha was a little difficult to get perfect- i wanted to show that she was plain enough to Melt into the background. She’s wrapped in more of the carousel set to show she Cant get off the merry go round because she Doesn’t have a face. I took Heavy inspo of her design from @reidspng sasha design cause i think they captured her Perfectly

Melanie King I was playing around with the thought of Ghost bullets and Bones, i scried her colors on accident after some trial and error and just Loved it, her outfit just fell in place after i got the skry ^^

Gerry was one of the first i completed fully- i saw the kelpie hair and just Knew it would be a perfect box dye, i wanted to give him this sorta ghostly aura- like you’d just summoned him in a seance and he just looks beyond annoyed

Gertrude was a little difficult to find the proper scry for- it felt like Nothing i was doing was turning out right- i started with her outfit first and worked backwards eventually landing on this- i’m rather happy with her overall- her as a coatl just worked out so well for a little arson grannie

Adelard dekker, One of my all time favorite statements mag157 has always stayed with me and i just Knew i had to make this fella. Poison and concrete were my inspirations, i wanted to imagine him as an avatar of the extinction having risen from his tomb to study and try to reverse the end of humanity.

Basira Husain- it is- hilariously difficult to make a modest muslim outfit in a game that doesn’t allow religious imagery- i eventually landed on this which was the Best i could manage. Her skry came after, i wanted to show off her intelligence and mild affiliation with the eye as Glasses (very cliche i know)

Last for this group is Daisy tonner- she’s my eldest of my fandragons at 7 years old (very expensive little purchase ;-;) i liked the idea of having mud and soil as a theme to reference when she was in the buried. She was originally planned as an imperial but i thought a wildclaw would suit her better.

Not my Flight Rising/Dragon Adventures blog (I abandoned it lol), but I finished my Misty fangragon on Fight Rising, if that's something any of you would like to see! May update her still - perhaps some gloves or more effects if I can find anything that fits?? I'm gonna have fun with her bio, though!

Next on my radar are Cathal and Flint fandragons, but I'm taking a break from those for now...

(Also funny is, a good chunk of my Toontown friends also play Flight Rising - in times that I'm active on TTCC, while waiting for groups I'll probably be off-tab playing FR lol)

I truly hate vague phrases like “problematic fandragon” and “dark lore,” because they could both mean anything. Is your Clan a villainous group of pirates terrorizing Water territory? Literally nobody takes issue with that, even the most terminally online people. Do you have a tab of irl serial killer fandragons? Yeah, no, that’s fucked up. Yet we use the same language to discuss both and it muddies the conversation to the point where we’re not even talking about the same level of offense. (1/2)

More specifically: I think people couch truly offensive or morally wrong behavior in vague language like “People shouldn’t be witchhunted for dark lore!” so that people who, say, enjoy fictional villains or write about complicated characters healing from trauma or whatever will sympathize and side with them, and then what they really mean is “Btw my dark lore is writing about sex slavery on a 13+ site right in public,” which is different than where people’s minds may have jumped. Did these last week but forgot to post them.

Dark rider fandragons!

(Not including Chiyo as we don’t know a lot about her personality yet. I might make her when we meet her in game though!)

I tried to make them a bit more uniform in apparel and such. Also, their personalities do not match their dragon form (when with the soul riders they do) because I’d imagine they’d be more like spirits taking the shape of a dragon instead of actually being dragons, which also allows them to be more coherent as a group.

“Uniform” things include: runes tertiary gene, wing banners, and the “presences” as flight rising calls them.

Just in time for me to officially run out of patience for the rest of this project to come off cooldowns and age up, behold! My first JTP and campaign 3 fandragon! Gaze upon Cammie! The only one who is done yet! Troy and Umbi incoming after they’re born and age up in like 15ish days maybe, hopefully, if I hatch the dragons I’m looking for!

Since I’m like pretty sure the Venn diagram between flight rising user and very enthusiastic JTP listener who was like I should do dragons for the group is just me (although I wanna see more, I wanna see other interpretations so bad), I’ll explain this a little, people will sometimes breed and design dragons themed after existing characters, hence the name fandragon. And I’m doing a set for Join The Party, specifically the new campaign’s main 3, maybe more later, if there’s other characters that strike my fancy, because I am very into having long projects. (peep my Hibernal den under the projects tab for troys and umbis soon-to-be parents plus the several gene projects I’m noodling on/trying to finish) Again, I promise I’m not playing favorites, I just wanted more specific color and gene combinations for Umbi and Troy that the auction house did not have, outside of finding a male and female with the right combination. As a preview, Troy is going to be a black and gold imperial with butterfly wings, and Umbi is going to be a swampy-green bogsneak.

And to explain my general process, in brief because when the whole crew is done more I’ll explain my choices more fully, but I took the art and general color schemes and translated that to the dragon breeds, genes, and colors that are available, trying to match apparel and outfits to characters, and taking mild liberties when necessary (exhibit A, Nonny, and exhibit b which is not existent yet, the yet unplanned for familiars for the as of yet utterly pet/companionless Troy and Umbi)

Some orange dragons for orange day!

Lore tidbits included under the cut :D

Top Row: Tau'riel // Whiskey // Sere

Tau'riel is Thunder Hollow's hot-headed fire representative. She was abducted by manticores as a young hatchling but ultimately found herself leading a revolution to overthrow the manticore leaders who abducted her by the time she matured. She and her loyal followers eventually fled to Thunder Hollow as other manticore groups took issue with a dragon-led manticore pride, and Tau'riel ultimately found herself a Council liaison both to her manticore allies and the clan's handful of fire dragons.

Whiskey is one of the dragons who watches the clan's clifftop border. He helps passerby find aid and rest in Thunder Hollow, which isn't always evident to dragons flying over the Cliffs.

Sere is...well, I don't know what he is yet. I only just finished gening him but I've been looking for a good opportunity to share him because he's just so pretty! Probably my favorite completed G1 project to date :D

Middle Row: Sparks // Quilava // Briar // Yuroja

Sparks' lore has been revamped a few times because the projects he's been connected with have fallen through, but, as of now, he's a vulcanologist researching volcanic activity in the Ashfall Wastes on Thunder Hollow's behalf. The apparel edit he's wearing in the picture was done by Rinny!

Quilava is my favorite fandragon and Thunder Hollow's lead metalsmith. She mostly works on small forged items and trinkets, but she has helped fill some industrial orders on occasion. She is a very bubbly dragon who doesn't seem to speak a word of draconic OR coatl, and she is well-known for her generosity and willingness to help.

Briar is the receptionist and record keeper for Sunder's Inn. She's a kind and quiet soul who is very passionate about animals and their husbandry. Her personal lair is more of a menagerie than anything, and she often brings some of her more well-behaved companions to work with her!

Yuroja is Thunder Hollow's mysterious lamp-lighter and resident storyteller. Dragons from all across the clan often take time from their nights to stop by her bonfire and listen to the stories she spins under the light of the moon. Some rumor that her stories were once inspired by prophecies from the Tidelord (she's a water dragon beneath all that apparel, believe it or not)...

Bottom Row: Arakiba // Ainsly // Kite

Arakiba (or Kiba as she is better known) is a resident of Thunder Hollow without a lot of lore as yet. When she was a hatchling, she swallowed a fire runestone that imbued her with uncontrollable fire magic. Coming to live in Thunder Hollow has helped reduce the extent of this affliction, but she still seeks a genuine cure--or at least a solution that will give her some control.

Ainsly is a mechanic who works at the Waystation, a small enterprise in the Lightning Farm that is designed to provide shelter and skill training for exaltation to those who need it.

Kite was one of Thunder Hollow's earliest members. She gave her life to save dozens of others who were ambushed by the Shade in the clan's settlement days. She has since returned as a ghost that protects the location where she died--a place that has since become a thriving town in the midst of Thunder Hollow's Great Forest.
