Travis just keeping back and staying quiet like the obedient dog
Very true. Because...
They trained him well…
Which is why it's so much more impressive that he does not shoot Laura when they tell him to do so:
And it hurts him to do that:
Well trained indeed... and still he does not shoot her. (It also suggests that he has silver bullets in his pistol?)
We all know why most fanfictions with Travis as an important part are tagged with "former child abuse".
Anyway here is the reaction of Travis if you shoot Constance:
One thing I constantly think about is the fact that Travis has to know that Laura is infected because the last time he saw her she was missing an eye...
And they meet again and Laura has two:
I would have loved to see any real reaction about that from Travis but I guess that is just another thing the developers didn't get around to add.
Because the inner monologue had to be something like "Why the fuck is Laura here? Oh shit, she is bitten and she is in our house and she is the one who killed Kaylee and mom knows but they don't know she has been bitten and when will she change? What the fuck am I going to do? Oh shit..."
That would explain why Travis did not react any more than he did when Laura gets shot, because he knows she might get up again?

Travis’s childhood headcanons
nobody asked, but…it’s been a while since I done one of these:
• probably has never been given an affectionate nickname in his life. He’s only ever been called T by Chris and a select few.
• Have a theory he was not a planned child. Likely why Jed and Connie got married actually.
•Probably a kid who was sickly a lot. Constance often being left alone to care for him and growing to resent him as a result. Because Jed would be a very hands off father I imagine.
•speaking of Jed; Travis’s lack of emotional intelligence is probably because of him. Jed would have taught him that being a man means being a rock. The old fashion standard of not showing emotional cracks during the hard times; ‘because others will look to you to be strong for them, boy.’
^Imagine being told this at like 10, after losing a family pet or something. I think that’s the kind of thing that would have happened
•sometimes the only acceptable display of emotion to Jed was rage . Rage can be manly and can channel productivity to him when used carefully. Oh but of course Travis would still be reprimanded if he went too far with how he expressed rage. So Travis resorts to suppressing most feelings behind stoicism.
Could go on if anyone wants more?

What are some of your fav headcanons?
~ Growing up, Kait steals Jacob's hoodies and football jerseys, but because she's a good foot shorter, they look giant on her.
~ Jacob acts like he does because he has bad family trauma, possible ab*se as a kid, which caused him to latch onto those who showed him affection.
~ Chris Hackett met Ryan when he was not even a pre-teen yet, but from that summer on, the two became a surrogate father/son duo, and Kaylee and Caleb were like his siblings away from home.
~ Dylan has some form of autism, which is part of where his Blase Dylan facade comes from.
~ Ryan will always make sure to stand to Dylan's left after the night at camp. Sometimes Dylan just needs someone to hold onto, and Ryan always makes sure he won't have to reach around just to do that.
~ Jacob gives Kaitlyn piggyback rides when he thinks she's not moving fast enough for him. During the night at the Quarry, when the two are separated, Kait can't help but wish he were there to carry her because she doesn't know if she'll be able to outrun the monsters.
~ Nick and Abi meet up after for various hangouts. Abi isn't a night owl, so she usually falls asleep during these nights. Nick never wakes her, but will check her pulse on her wrist every so often just to make sure she's still there with him.
~ Nick is deathly afraid of swimming. When the police allowed them all to get washed up from the blood and dirt, Dylan and Abi had to stay with him as he showered.
~ When in a group together, Jacob walks slightly ahead of the group. He still blames himself for everything that happened, and wants to protect his friends in any way he can. Abi walks behind a bit for similar reasons.
~ Furthermore, Dylan will always be a half-step ahead of Kait when together. He still sees her getting dragged into the freezer with Caleb and being lunged at by werewolf Emma at night and wants to make sure she's safe.
~ Ryan is hit by the events at the Quarry more than anyone, and falls into a depression. He was close to the Hacketts, and he feels guilty for cutting Dylan's hand off, leaving the group to go with Laura, and killing Bobby Hackett even though he would have died anyway. The only person he talks to for months is, oddly enough, Max, because he was the only one not truly affected by Ryan's choices.
Hope these are good, and maybe inspire you to write something!
