The Vale Citadel was a key location on the shield world of Requiem. The Forerunner known as the Librarian left an imprint of herself in the facility, allowing her to prepare John-117 to confront the Ur-Didact in 2557.
In 2558, Jul 'Mdama became interested in accessing the Librarian's imprint, though its interface only allowed Dr. Halsey to communicate with the Librarian. Halsey was given the Janus Key, which reveals the real-time location of every piece of Forerunner technology in the galaxy.
Yay, I finished Halo 4 Spartan Ops! And let me tell you, I finished it on Normal because you cannot pay me enough to play 50 levels of this on Legendary. No way.*⬇ I have never in my (admittedly limited) gaming life seen such a tremendous disparity between the difficulty of Normal and Heroic as Spartan Ops has. I tried for an achievement requiring Heroic and, frens? I literally had Promethean Knights raining down on my head. Literally spawning in and landing on my head while I was being attacked by other Knights, Crawlers and Watchers *shakes fist* from all sides.
I was therefore not surprised to learn that Spartan Ops is intended for up to 4 players at a time so therefore the enemies are set for you to be a team of 4. Even when you’re playing solo.
That was the singular most awful Halo game experience I’ve ever had. And that’s counting the week and a half it took me to beat the Halo 2 Regret boss battle on Legendary.
Anyway, here’s “Wonderwall” what my Spartan Ops character looks like!
Aren’t I pretty in purple and teal? 😎😉 Despite being Fireteam Crimson (all by my lonesome), I didn’t go with red since that’s the color of my fem!Six’s Mjolnir. And yes, the skull visor is an homage to Emile, whom I love. 😉
Also seen from Halo: Reach: Jorge, whom I love, Kat, whom I love and fem!Six, whom I love, in her red Mjolnir. 😇💖
Seriously, though, every time somebody in game announced that Fireteam Crimson had arrived, I wished it would show me jumping out of the Pelican all alone and everybody else looking like, “Um, that’s the Fireteam? The entire Fireteam???” 👀
And I’m standing there like
Anyway, just wanted to share! Love you, frens, hope you’re doing well! 🤗💖
*Until I get sad enough because I’ve finished all of the rest of the MCC and decide to try Heroic and/or Legendary and see if I can grind through them and get the achievements for completing them. You actually get two for Legendary, one for completing it and one for completing it solo. 😐 Because it will be A PILL to complete solo. But I’m contrary that way, what can I tell you? 🤷♀️😉
EDIT:
Dude. Why do I even throw that gauntlet down?
Okay, well so apparently I’m going to try Spartan Ops on Legendary solo. Wish me luck, frens! Chapter 1, episodes 1-3 are done, just 47 more episodes to go! 😧🤷♀️😉
Vol served the Covenant until its dissolution in 2552. After the Covenant's fracture, multiple splinter groups appeared. His presumed relative, Merg Vol, created one such group, which Parg joined as an assassin and arms dealer.
After Merg Vol was killed by Spartan Sarah Palmer, his faction fell apart, and Parg joined Jul 'Mdama's Covenant to continue the campaign against humanity. Four years later, while serving 'Mdama on Requiem, he was targeted and killed by Spartan-IV fireteam Crimson.
Sitting here not feeling awesome and poking around at an MWAS PowerPoint and is it me or does Lasky look DRASTICALLY different from Halo 4/Spartan Ops to Halo 5?
"So tell me more about Rio. What else did I miss?"
"Aw man, the place is a mess. I mean, too many Covenant asylum seekers all penned up. ... We even caught this one Sangheili freak trying to detonate a HAVOK nuke-"
343.
My God, this line has lived rent free in my head since Halo 4 came out.
Imagine the possibilities here!
What is that like, for all the people involved? How did the former Covenant get to Earth and seek asylum? How many are there? Other than humans and Sangheili, what species are represented there? How was a Sangheili able to steal a HAVOK nuke? Did that operation involve SPARTANS running through neighborhoods like it was the OG Modern Warfare 2 favela missions? Are any of the aliens hot? Are any of them cute & breedable?
343, WE MUST KNOW!!!
Just like Anvil Station, you've set up awesome world building and done NOTHING with it! When you showed alien-human interactions in Legacy of Onyx, it was brilliant! Give us more, I beg you!
Requiem, 2558. While Fireteam Crimson engage Covenant forces at the shield world's Refuge site where a Covenant cruiser has deployed a deadly group of zealots known as the Silent Blade, Fireteam Shadow is called upon to aid in a vital Spartan operation. Their mission: infiltrate the cruiser and destroy it from within.
As part of the celebrations that marked the tenth anniversary of Halo 4 back in November, this short story has been made available in audiobook (narrated by yours truly) and PDF formats.
LAWD HAVE MERCY, FRENS. I finished Halo 4 Spartan Ops, solo Legendary! (Also note my play time... Yep, I’ve now played over a thousand hours of Halo, lol! 👀😇😉)
That was ridiculously difficult but I feel so proud to have made it through. Something I have noticed is that shooting these 90 bajillion enemies means I’ve gotten a little better with my aim and much quicker on the draw in the “regular” Halo games, so hey, that’s something, right?
Now, I’ve pretty much accomplished all of the achievements that I can do without playing multiplayer or co-op (or without doing the par scores or LASO). I tried the par scores on Reach because it’s honestly the game I’ve played full-through the most and feel the most familiar with on every level but I only managed to get 5/9 and it was just a whole lot of Not Fun the entire time. I’m never going to get the 30k and 150k score for Lone Wolf, either, so I just moved all of that into the mental pile of Waaaaay Not Fun and chose to forget ‘em. (I did, however, learn some fun new techniques for playing ONI: Sword Base, lol!)
Sooooo, that means that now I can consider, you know...? Playing a non-Halo game?
I, um, kinda have one or two other options now... 😳😉
Fun fact, Dead Rising was one of the first game walkthroughs I saw on Youtube and it just looked like so much fun to be able to create these wacky weapons or to change Frank (or Chuck from 2)’s clothes. I never figured I’d get the chance to play either one, so when this bundle came up for the 3 of them (Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record) for $14 and change, I decided that could be my reward for finishing my Camp NaNo, so went for it!
I also do still have Mass Effect Andromeda installed so I could get back to that, too. 🤷♀️😉
The main thing, though, is that I still have some messages and such to catch up on so I’d like to do that before I dive headfirst into anything else. I’m taking a rest from writing for now but I do have a vid idea I’d kinda like to do. A very AU Halo vid staring my best girl Kai and a tale of love gone REALLY WRONG. 👀 Hee, I hope I can do this one, it’s been an idea that I’ve had for quite a while, ever since I first heard this particular song. 😎
Welp, just wanted to share. I’m so super happy to have finished all 50 of those dang Spartan Ops levels at last! Love you, frens, and hope you’re doing well! 🤗🤗🤗
Covenant armored cruisers were the older predecessors to the infamous battlecruisers of the Great War. They lack the weapons and shielding of their successors, boasting armor protection and larger point-defence grids.
Roland: "I'm bored."
Palmer: "Roland? Clear the channel."
Roland: "That data that's confusing Spartan Miller is only confusing because he still thinks forts are comm relays."
Miller: "So what are they really?"
Roland: "They're a portal nexus. Just like back at those towers. Thought it'd be obvious by now."
