Stripes! Helical stripes, to be precise, and a work-in-progress. This always seems like some sort of voodoo knitting — how can you (in this case wherein I’m using 5 different colors) just ‘knit 20 stitches in one color, 20 more in the next, and so on (until you get to the last in the round and then double that)’ and you end up with stripes and not just blocks of 20 stitches higgledy-piggledy.
Theoretically it’s faster than knitting stranded colorwork because it’s all of one thing, then all of another, but juggling 🤹‍♀️ five balls of yarn so that I don’t end up with a tangled mess feels like I’m in one of those juggling plates sequences on the old Ed Sullivan show (iykyk), only moving one ball over and over and over.
Can’t argue with the results though. Stripes!

My Pokémon Part One
Pherocket and Flarespray, Fire/Steel-type Pokémon based on spotted skunks and fireworks. Both stages of this evolution line are classified as the Pyrotechnic Pokémon. They’re near relatives of the Stunky line and in the Field Egg Group.
These crepuscular Pokémon live in harsh, rocky areas with temperate to moderately cold climates like mountain ranges, cliffs and some grasslands. They eat metal and metal compounds, their diet particularly heavy on alkaline earth metals, akali metals, and other pyrotechnic colourants (metal salts that burn with colourful flames), although we aren’t yet sure how they can tell the metals and salts apart. Going without enough of these for too long will make them sick, since their internal fire sac runs low on fuel. Traditionally they find their food in the form of natural reserves, often underground, but in recent years the ones close to humans are increasingly bold and clever in stealing our metal compounds. Working smarter, not harder and all. Eaten metal not in the form of flammable or combustible compounds reinforces their steely claws.
They have an organ called a launcher inside their hollow tails, a tough, flexible muscular tube that can push flaming projectiles out at unbelievable speed. The elements and compounds they consume are compressed into pellets by a branch of their digestive system, ignited and shot out as fireworks. Yes, fireworks. The human invention of them was directly modelled on this line! It is unknown how the Pokémon know how to produce the beautiful colours, but they appreciate and enjoy firework displays, suggesting they see the same colours humans do. The pellets technically can’t be considered excrement because they aren’t waste; they could still be digested normally if they weren’t used in this way. Due to the sacrifice of fuel and risk of attracting other Pokémon (especially Bug-types), the line prefer not to fire rockets and reserve it for self-defence and battles. Much more common launcher uses are expelling smoke, showers of sparks or split-second blinding flashes to intimidate threats. Before they even do that, they’ll wave their tails high, stamp their feet and stand up on their front paws. However, the launcher’s uses aren’t only aggressive. Smoke and flares are a means of long-range communication. Each individual’s smoke is laced with its unique chemical signature, so they can recognize, keep track of and send detailed messages to one another through their pheromones. Such signals are the main reason the mostly solitary Pokémon sometimes come together. They may be helping a fellow member of their species in distress or joining them in feasting on an abundance of food. They have an amazing sense of smell.
The first stage of the line, Pherocket (‘pheromone’ and ‘rocket’) is a small spotted skunk. It has a longer, more weasel-like build than the stereotypical skunk akin to the western spotted skunk, the better to dig tunnels with. Its coat is the indigo of the sky at dusk with broken stripes and spots of bright red and yellow, and its eyes are an intense green. The vibrant colours are a warning sign. Its fur is thick. Its protruding front claws are silver and strong as steel. Its long tail has a flared shape with the fur clumping in outward spikes around its circular end and is solid red to draw attention to it; looking down it, you can see the opening of the launcher. It is especially warm to the touch.
At level 33, it evolves into the second stage, Flarespray (‘flare’, ‘spray’ and a pun on ‘hairspray’). It’s still lean, but bigger and stronger with powerful legs and longer, sharper front claws for digging, breaking down rock and tearing metal. Its coat is now midnight blue and has a different pattern of smaller stripes and spots clearly imitating the steaks and sparks of light when a firework explodes. Its thick artillery cannon of a tail remains red, but has a helical green stripe along it matching its eyes. It needs more food and preys upon Steel-types that provide, and Rock-types full of carbon like Carbink and Rolycoly. It has even been known to mortally wound Copperajah with the power and precision of its projectiles. With superior stamina and metabolism to its pre-evolution, it can produce a greater number of more destructive and advanced pyrotechnics more efficiently. It is nicknamed the ‘painter of the the sky’.
Pherocket’s base stats:
60 HP
75 Attack
49 Defence
80 Special Attack
50 Special Defence
65 Speed
Flarespray’s base stats:
80 HP
100 Attack
70 Defence
110 Special Attack
72 Special Defence
85 Speed
Their possible Abilities are Intimidate, Sniper and Tough Claws.
Their signature move is Burning Hail. The Pokémon stands on its front legs and shoots an extra large firework directly above the opponent. This consists of a cluster of pellets, that rain down in a circle with glittery trails when it explodes. They too then detonate surrounding the opponent.

"Paarks". Aug 28, 2022
The boys were not two to care too much about potential consequences. Their recklessness was never met with reprimand, and throughout the majority of their lives, this is how they would live it: entirely on their own accord.
It’s this relativity of recklessness that their babysitter never quite understood. Big titted, she was pre-determinately offered two options: succumb to societies pressures and use her inherent sexuality to her advantage, that is, play into what was granted to her, or try and diverge to create her own path. She wondered if her corpse would care either way.
But what did she want? She had dreams, a magic reserved for the meek, those trying to get anywhere from where they are. The boys had no dreams, they didn’t need any. And as she sat and watched them kick flip and fall in the parking garage, she believed that maybe they would have some level of character built from the scrapes on their knees, or the pile of protective gear their mother insisted upon; left in the backseat of the car. But again, the boys were never in a position to need to learn from a mistake. She found hope in blood, metaphorical and literal. When you have no money, you find other ways to pay.
But my, how she had learned to day dream. What would happen if she told them she was bored? What would happen if she got in the car, drove away, and left them there. Authorities would find them, and  they would be safe if she skipped town and never saw them again. Sure it was irresponsible, and sure she would lose her most lucrative source of income, but responsibility was a totally relative thing anyways. The boys would never know this either, or care all too much.
It was incredible their differences in knowledge, they would receive a thorough college education, and if she deemed, hopefully talents from a  trade school. While they lived and learned from wildly different lives, only she understood the differences between. Again, this is something neither would need to know unless they wanted to. Another knowledge reserved for those unfortunate to possess it.
The trees were like large dollops of spun sugar mixed with candy cane, swirling up on thin stalks of wood, billowing out into rainbow puffs of duo-chrome goodness. Each tuft of flower that made up each stripe was individually constructed of even smaller flowers, four petals surrounding each button center, all climbing round an axis stalk in a helical shape. This was then repeated in larger and larger patterns, until the entire tree was made.
When the wind blew, the confection would  compress and expand like large jellyfish. She laid back and imagined the housemaid carrying each striped bulb on a platter, her ginormous hand reaching down and plucking the crown from the trunk as if it were a dandelion head. It would rest in her palm, as she would slowly lift it up onto her silver serving dish, setting it down, careful it wouldn’t jiggle too much to split. Each step she took then nearly filled the entire plane of grass, and the jello tree would wobble and shake, until in only 5 steps she had disappeared into the city.

Amurian Lore Drop
Amurians are a bizarre and technologically advanced species of Hidden Earth. The birthplace of them and where you’ll find the largest population of them is a mountain range known as Mons Crystallia. Surrounding these mountains is a ton of snow and ice, meaning that they had to be specially adapted for this harsh environment to be able to live there.
Amurians have thick, white fur that is covered in swirling stripes of various colors (blue, green, purple, red, orange, etc). They have cloven, goat-like hooves on their legs and walk bipedal. Their hands are paw-like with retractable claws. They have long tails that are thick and rounded like a large feline, though male's tails bare a split, so it has two tail tips. This was part of a gene editing experiment of their own race that didn’t go as planned, they wanted it to be a universal trait, but made it Y-linked by mistake in their early gene editing years. Amurians have pointed, cat-like ears, a pair of long fangs, and both males and females have helical horns. The males usually have longer horns than the females. They have 2 pairs of eyes upon their face, a species gene editing attempt that went right. They keep one pair of their eyes closed when outdoors, and have all eyes open when in the caves. This has helped them reduce snow-blindness and improve their vision within their dark caverns. They are not very tall. They are usually around 4.5-5ft tall.
The Amurians are always looking to improve their species and make them better adapted for their environment. All of their gene editing is done on a voluntary level every few centuries. The thing is though, most parents of them will opt for the editing to give their children the best chances of being better capable of surviving the mountains.
However, sometimes Amurians are not born with the traits that make them better suited for the environment. Most of these Amurians by their own/parents' choice opt to move away from the mountain to other communities, which has helped spread their technological know how to other communities and races.
Amurians have long used the crystals of their mountain in order to make crystal based technology, which has led them to a heavy science focus. They are a led by a group of chief elder scientists, who are each over a different area of research.
And because crystals are so important to their lives and research, they have a strong tradition of naming their children after crystals/stones/gemstones/minerals.

Zenvo Reveals Latest Commission TSR-S Hypercar
Zenvo has revealed its latest commission TSR-S alongside further developments from the Danish hypercar manufacturer. This example of the 1177bhp twin-supercharged V8 TSR-S model, the street legal variant of the TSR track car, has received bespoke touches & is the first car to receive fragmented carbon fiber wheels designed, developed and built in-house by Zenvo as well as individual weave designs within the exposed carbon fiber body sections.
Following Danish design ideals of innovation and creativity, the geometric pattern carbon fiber visible within the blue tinted central stripe is a further evolution of Zenvo’s class leading carbon fiber technology and personalization options, such as the bespoke ‘watermark’ carbon fiber graphics featured on previous TSR-S models. This technique has also been used on the exposed carbon fiber side pods, with the Zenvo logo emblazoned within the material in an opposing herringbone pattern.
These new weave patterns, which can be tailored to the client’s specification, are formed within the carbon fiber and are hand-laid by Zenvo’s craftsmen.
So too are the new fragmented carbon wheels, with each minute fragment hand-cut and expertly layered to create the special finish and weigh some 15 kilograms less than the aluminium variants. As with all carbon fiber work at Zenvo, from the body panels to the floor mats, these components are created in-house using a combination of cutting-edge technology and human craftsmanship with countless personalization options. Each wheel takes two technicians roughly one week to create. All visible carbon on the car can be color tinted, including the wheels, and clients can specify individual sections in differing carbon finishes.
Also unveiled today is the latest drivetrain development from Zenvo, a hybrid variant of the 7-speed sequential gearbox with helical-cut dog gears that has become a trademark of the brand. This gearbox offers the driver two changeable modes, Road and Race, controlled by tactile aluminium switchgear on the steering wheel. In its Road setting, the changes are electronically assisted to remove the usual harshness of a traditional ‘dog-box’ while Race mode allows for exceptionally fast and direct mechanical changes usually only offered in fully fledged race cars. The latest development of this innovative gearbox is the addition of a hybrid module which yields a power boost, further traction control and even the addition of an eighth forward gear with the electric motor providing reverse drive. Zenvo is constantly developing, and this gearbox is the latest innovation designed and undergoing development entirely in-house which will increase the usability and performance of both current and future models.
The TSR-S is Zenvo’s flagship model, combining the road-going capability of the TS1 GT with the track-derived performance of the TSR and is powered by a 1177bhp twin-supercharged flat-plane V8. 0-62 mph is achieved in 2.8 seconds and 0-124 mph in just 6.8 seconds, aided by a super lightweight carbon fiber construction and exceptional aerodynamics including Zenvo’s patented Centripedal rear wing which reacts to steering inputs to create high levels of downforce while cornering. The TSR-S is priced at €1.45m and Zenvo production is limited to five cars per year, offering unparalleled exclusivity in a hypercar sector.
Originally destined for the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show, Zenvo will now showcase these developments during a private media event at its HQ in Præstø, Denmark and at further locations around the world.

Aérodrome de Cerny-La-Ferté-Alais, Cerny, France 9th June 2019 The following info is from the Fighter Collection website:- "The Curtiss H-75 was a private venture which flew for the first time in May 1935. Following development and a new engine, three prototype aircraft were ordered by the US Army Air Corps under the designation Y1P-36. This eventually led to the P-36 lineage which went on to serve with around a dozen air arms across the world, including the USAAC as the P-36, the RAF as the Mohawk, and France as the H-75. Our Hawk is one of the 100 in the first production batch sent to the French Air Force, and given the individual aircraft number 82, arriving in April 1939. Issued to 1ére Escadrille, Groupe de Combat 11/5 Lafayette at Reims, where she carried the command stripes on the fuselage of the personal aircraft of Commandant Murtin, CO of both GC 1/5 and GC 11/5. She moved to Toul during the Battle of France, and then on to Oran in Algeria before the Armistice. From 1940 to 1942 Hawk No.82′s Squadron was engaged in sporadic skirmishes with RAF and USN aircraft over Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. Between 1946 and 1949 Hawk No.82 was with the 4th Training Squadron at Cazaux in Western France serving as an advanced trainer with 22 other H-75s. Hawk No.82 was saved from scrapping in the 1950′s and was placed in storage in France until acquired by TFC in 1995. Following a major overhaul in the US she made her UK debut in 2005. Our Hawk wears an authentic Armée de l’Air standard three-tone scheme, with her GC 11/5 markings on her port, and the Lafeyette Escadrille Sioux Indian head motif (the TFC logo) on her starboard side."

Yeah, so what if I just bought more yarn? I need to keep a steady inventory of stash level just in case I decide I must knit something new in 10 colors, or try and use up those small bits leftover from 3 other hats, or my eyes demand something really pretty and new, or I just need to fondle some fiber…
But also, here are some of the things I’ve been doing to justify that kind of purchase. Three out of the 4 are stranded colorwork motifs from Andrea Rangel’s oh-so-fun book AlterKnit Stitch Dictionary and the 4th is a randomized helical stripe.
