How to Install a Deadbolt
A single-cylinder deadbolt lock is one of the best ways to protect your house, your belongings, and the security of your family. This modification can be made to your exterior doors for a low cost. Local law enforcement and home security professionals frequently counsel householders to install a deadbolt as a reliable deterrent against intruders who manipulate entry doorknobs.
Deadbolts prevent jimmying because they require turning a knob from inside the home in order to remove the bolt from the strike plate. The strong fasteners on deadbolts also reach deep into the door frame. Even with drills, saws, picks, or pry bars, it is very difficult for a burglar to enter your home through a door with a deadbolt engaged if the door frame and strike plate are in excellent condition.
Start at the first stage if this is a new door without a deadbolt cutout.

Instructions
1-Place the Template on the Door
Look for the paper template used to drill holes in the door when you open the deadbolt. The template might be written on the inside of the product's box or be included in the instruction manual. When the pattern is unfolded, use scissors to cut along the lines. Use painter's tape to attach the pattern to the door. The template typically covers the door's face and border on both sides.
2-Drill the Hole for the Bolt Mechanism
Into the electric drill, insert the hole saw. Use a hole saw with a 2 1/8-inch diameter or the size recommended by the directions. Secure the entrance. Drill the big deadbolt mechanism hole on the door's face slowly.
3-Drill the Hole for the Bolt
Get close to the door's tip. The template should still contain the other portion. The second hole in the door—the one that extends past the edge of the door to allow the deadbolt to slide in and out—is indicated by this half of the door.
Incorporate the drill's 1-inch spade bit (or the size specified by the directions). Directly on the central dot on the template, press the spade bit's sharp end. Make sure the entryway is supported. Slowly start the drill and auger through the paper before entering the door's timber. Continue augering until the 2 1/8-inch hole made in the previous stage and this hole are parallel to one another.
4-Chisel Spaces For the Strike Plate and Bolt
An inset metal strike plate will reinforce the door jamb and make the deadbolt operate more smoothly. Draw a line around the door jamb's inset region using the plate and a pencil. Carve out the designated area by carefully chiseling down 1/8 of an inch with the chisel and hammer.
Similar insets will be present on the fastener. After putting the bolt through the 1-inch hole, trace the plate's shape. Remove, then file the surface to 1/8-inch depth.
5-Install the Door Jamb Strike Plate and Bolt
The strike plate should be secured to the door jamb with two screws, a Phillips screwdriver, and the included fasteners. Similar to that, position the deadbolt in the 1-inch hole, carefully tap it into the carved-out area, and then screw it into place.
6-Install the Deadbolt Mechanism
Place one lock mechanism half on each side of the door when installing it. Make sure the deadbolt mechanism's keyed portion is on the door's external. It is helpful to have a helper hold the mechanism's two halves in position at this point.
7-Screw the Deadbolt Mechanism in Place
From the inner side, screw the two 2 1/2-inch mounting bolts into the deadbolt mechanism. Instead of using a manual screwdriver to install these bolts, use a cordless drill. The process will go much more quickly because the bolts are so lengthy. Avoid overtightening.

Things You Must have In Your Home
Tumblr media
Introduction
I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials. You see a couple who’s home is falling apart, so they go to the store and buy everything new. They go back home with all these shiny new things, but then they realize that their old stuff wasn’t so bad after all! So now they want to get rid of it in order to make room for all those beautiful new items. Well, this is exactly what happened to me! My house was in such bad shape that I couldn’t even stand looking at it anymore — and then along came some very good friends who convinced me otherwise:
I want to get a new bed.
I want a new bed because my current one is too small.
I want a new bed because it is too hard.
I want a new bed because it is too soft.
I want a new bed because it is old and worn out (and I can’t afford to buy one).
I want a new bed because I don’t like the color. I want a new bed because it doesn’t fit right in my room.
I want a new bed because it is uncomfortable. I want a new bed because it is too hot in my room during the summer months.
I need new sofas.
You need new sofas.
You will be buying new sofas to replace the old ones.
When you buy new sofas for your home, it’s important that you don’t just jump in and start buying what looks good to you. There are some things that you need to consider before making a purchase.
First, you need to make sure that the sofas are comfortable. You should sit on them and see if they feel good to you. If they don’t feel good, then you should keep looking until you find one that does. Next, make sure that the sofas are made out of quality materials like leather or fabric.
These are the two most important things to look for when buying new sofas. If you don’t buy good quality materials, then your sofas won’t last very long and will start to fall apart on you.
I want my windows replaced.
I want my windows replaced.
I want to get new windows installed.
I would like to get new windows for my house.
I would like to have new windows installed in my home, please!
I want a new bed because it is too small. I want a new bed because my current one is too big. I want a new bed because it is uncomfortable.
I want a new bed because it is too old. I want a new bed because my current one is broken. I would like to get new windows for my house. I would like to have new windows installed in my home, please!
I want to get new dining room table and chairs.
You want to get a new dining room table and chairs.
You have had this dining room set for years, and it has served you well, but now it’s time for an upgrade! You have been looking at different options online and have found one that will be perfect for your home.
The reason you need new sofas is because they are old and worn out. They are no longer comfortable or attractive, and you have to get rid of them. The best way to purchase new sofas is to go to an upscale furniture store and buy a nice set that fits your decorating style. You should also consider buying a few decorative pillows for them as wellI have some windows that need to be replaced. I have some windows that need to be replaced. I have some windows that need to be replaced..
I want to sleep in a proper bed.
I want to sleep in a proper bed.
I’m not sure what it is about my current mattress, but I just don’t enjoy sleeping on it very much. Maybe I am spoiled by the memory foam beds I used to have or maybe it’s just time for an upgrade. Regardless of the reason, there are few things more satisfying than crawling into a nice, comfortable bed after working all day and knowing that as soon as your head hits the pillow, you will be out like a light!
You have also found a set that is on sale and will save you some money. You decide to order it online so that you can get it right away.
I want my bathroom remodeled.
You want your bathroom remodeled. You’ve been thinking about it for a while now, but haven’t had the time or money to do anything about it. You really want new lighting, tiles and shower fixtures that match your new furniture in the living room (you just got those chairs!), as well as a sink with an integrated toothbrush holder and an auto-lid for when you’re brushing your teeth in the morning before work and don’t want to touch anything else with your hands (it’s gross). You’d also like a new toilet with buttons instead of handles–they’re easier to use when you have wet hands from washing them after using the bathroom–and brand new cabinets at least as tall as they are wide so they can hold all those extra products we buy but never use because they look so pretty on display shelves!
I Want to work in the garden more often.
I want to work in the garden more often.
I want to grow my own vegetables, fruit trees and flowers.
I would like a vegetable garden or fruit tree that I can plant myself, as well as some herbs for cooking or tea (e.g., rosemary).
I know that when I sleep on a mattress that is too firm or too soft, it affects my ability to get a good night’s rest. I used to have a memory foam mattress and loved how comfortable it was, but they can be expensiveBut you don’t have the money to do all this right now, and so you’re thinking of calling a contractorI want to grow my own vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. I would like a vegetable garden or fruit tree that I can plant myself, as well as some herbs for cooking or tea (e.g., rosemary)…
I need a bigger fridge.
The size of your refrigerator is probably one of the most important things to consider when looking at a new model. If it’s too small, you won’t have enough room for all the food you buy and will be forced to make frequent trips to the grocery store just so that everyone can eat. On the other hand, if it’s too big for your space or budget–or even if it’s just not what you want in general–the appliance may take up valuable floor space without providing enough benefits in return.
The first step toward determining whether or not this change would be beneficial is determining how much space is currently available in your current fridge: do you have any empty shelves? Do those shelves hold items that could be moved elsewhere (like into another cabinet)? Will moving them actually help with organization rather than just making things worse? If so, try removing some items from their current location and see how much more room there seems like there might be available after doing so.
If moving around some items doesn’t free up enough space for what we’re hoping for here then we need look elsewhere; however before jumping immediately into buying something new let us first consider if perhaps our current unit isn’t really as full as we think–or at least not yet! Sometimes people overestimate how much milk/eggs/etcetera they go through each week because once those containers start getting low on contents then suddenly everyone starts scrambling around trying find replacements everywhere except inside themselves…and sometimes even inside other family members’ bodies too!
I want to get a steam shower installed.
Steam showers are great for relaxing, but they’re also amazing for your skin. The steam will help you relax and get rid of any stress that you have been feeling. Steam showers are also good for your health because it helps you breathe better by opening up the lungs and clearing out mucus from them. Steam showers can also help ease muscle pain by increasing blood flow in those areas that aren’t working properly due to injury or illness.
If you have dry hair or skin then taking a steam shower will make both look much healthier than normal because the heat from the water causes moisture molecules within each cell structure (including hair follicles) which leads to less frizziness overall!
These two reasons are why i want new stuff for my house
I want to get a new bed.
I need new sofas.
I want my windows replaced, because they’re old and drafty and don’t seal properly, which means I have to keep the heat on all night even in winter just to keep warm enough that I’m not freezing when I wake up in the morning. And then there’s the fact that you can see straight into my bedroom from outside! It’s embarrassing!
Conclusion
We hope that this has helped you make your home more comfortable and enjoyable to live in. If you have any questions about our service or would like to book an appointment for a cleaning. We are available Monday-Saturday from 9am until 6pm.
I need to get a new dryer and dishwasher. My clothes never come out clean, and I always have to put them through twice to get them clean enough that they’re not covered in soap suds. And the dishes are always dirty when I pull them out of the washer!

i have 4 chickens, and my favorite one is a teeny tiny rooster named christina (bc well... she was a late bloomer & i already got attached to the name when she first crowed) and she loves to sit on my shoulder or my head while i'm in the yard. she's the best pet i've ever had 😊 also, when i play them drag me down or even just sing it to them, all 4 start rolling around and sunbathing, so i'm assuming they like it 😂

The Different Types Of Home Repairs
Tumblr media
Introduction
Home repairs are never easy. You have to find the right contractor, then hope that they do a good job and don’t overcharge you. The best way to avoid these hassles is by doing your own home repairs! There are many different types of home repairs that you can do yourself, from simple tasks like painting or replacing your front door to more involved projects like installing new siding on your house or fixing leaking pipes under the sink. In this article we’ll go over some of the most common types of home repairs so you know exactly what kind of work needs done around your property before hiring someone else (or doing it yourself).
There are many reasons to take care of your home. Home repairs can be done by anyone, and it’s easy to find the supplies you need for them. If you are ready to get started on your first home repair project, here are some tips:
Find out what kind of tools and materials will work best for your project. You may have old tools in the garage that could work perfectly well for this type of job!
Shop around until you find the best deal on everything from nails and screws to paintbrushes and tape measures—and don’t forget about quality products too! You want everything long lasting so that it lasts through several years worth of use instead of just one season (or worse yet…one rainy day).
Roofing and siding
Roofing and siding are two separate types of repairs. The former covers a house, while the latter is its outside face. A roof is more expensive than siding, but it lasts longer because it gives your home a new look and keeps water out. Roofs need to be replaced every 8-12 years (depending on climate), while siding can be replaced once every 20 years or less depending on location and materials used in construction.
If you’re looking for a new roof, choose one that is made of metal or tile. They are more durable and last longer than shingles or tarps. You should also consider the size of your property when choosing a new roof; larger homes need larger materials to cover them properly.
Heating and cooling
Tumblr media
Install a new heating unit.
Repair a heating unit.
Replace a furnace.
Install a new air conditioner or air handler in your home, if you no longer have one installed (the most common reason people replace their old models).
Repair an existing HVAC system and make sure all of the necessary repairs are made before going ahead with this project; this includes checking for leaks around pipes or vents, checking faucets for leaks and fixing them if needed, cleaning out dust filters that can collect debris inside their housings over time which could cause costly repairs later on down the road because they’re clogged up with dirt particles which means there’s less air flowing through those areas when compared against how much pressure goes through them at full speed (especially during periods where temperatures rise higher than normal); also check out any possible cracks forming inside walls near windowsills where sunlight hits directly onto walls each day without shielding itself from direct contact between these surfaces so no matter how careful we may be about cleaning up after ourselves as individuals living within communities such as ours here in North America during summer months—you guessed right!
Plumbing Repairs
Plumbing repairs can be done by a professional, or you can do them yourself. In many cases, this is the best way to save money and time. You will find lots of information online about plumbing repair tips, so take advantage of those resources!
Plumbing is an important part of any home’s infrastructure—it keeps us safe from flooding and other problems caused by leaks in pipes; it allows us access water when we need it most; but if something goes wrong with our plumbing system (and it happens!), then there could be serious consequences for our health as well as our budget!
What is the best way to ensure that our plumbing works properly? And how do we know when something might be wrong with it? Here are some tips:
-Plumbing should run smoothly and quietly, with no clogs or leaks. -Check your water pressure; if it’s low, call a plumber to find out why. -If you notice any leaking in the walls or ceiling of your home, check for signs of mold growth as well.
Electrical Repairs
If you have an electrical problem, first try to identify the source of the issue. Is it a faulty breaker? A burned-out light bulb? If so, turn off all power to your home and call in an electrician. He or she will be able to tell you exactly what needs fixing and how much it costs for them to do so (although this isn’t always possible). Once they’ve assessed the situation, they’ll tell you whether or not they think their services are needed (and if so, how long they’ll take).
Once your expert has finished with their work, test everything out again—this time with no lights on at all! If there was any damage done during its repair then chances are good that something else has gone wrong since then too!
Foundation repair
Foundation repair is a specialized job that can be done by a professional or homeowner. If you’re looking to get your house on its feet again and make sure it stands strong, foundation repair will be worth the time and expense. Here’s what you need to know about this kind of home improvement:
Foundation repairs are expensive. While they’re not necessarily more expensive than other types of repairs, they do take longer because there are so many steps involved in making sure your foundation doesn’t fall apart again (or worse). You may want to wait until after the holidays when you’ve got some extra cash lying around before tackling this type of project—the cost could go up if gas prices go up too high during construction season!
There’s no guarantee that your foundation will hold up forever; if it does fail completely then there isn’t anything else left for us humans here on Earth who depend upon such things like houses (and lawns), cars (and trams), bridges…etcetera ad infinitum ad nauseam…
Painting
Tumblr media
Painting a room is a big job, but it’s not as difficult as you might think. There are many different types of paint to choose from—including interior and exterior—and different types of brushes that you can use to apply the paint evenly.
To prep the wall for painting, follow these steps:
Clean all surfaces thoroughly with soap and water; let dry completely before continuing with your project. If there are any problems with wallpaper or other materials on the wall (such as holes), repair them first before starting any major painting projects (see “Repairing Damaged Wallpaper”).
Sand down rough areas such as plaster boards or corners where cracks may be present; check these areas carefully so they don’t get damaged further by sandpaper when sanding begins later in this step! Also make sure doors close properly after being opened wide enough so they don’t stick open again later during drying time.”
Windows and Doors
Repairing a window:
You can repair small cracks or holes in your windows by filling them with putty.
Replacing a window:
If you want to replace an entire window, be sure to measure carefully so that the replacement is the right size for your home and houseguests are comfortable using it. Make sure there’s enough room between the frame and the glass so air can flow freely through it when opened or closed properly. You may also want to consider adding weatherstripping around openings such as doors and windows because this will help prevent drafts from causing damage inside of structures like homes over time due to wind passing through easily into rooms where people spend most of their time (like bedrooms).
Landscaping
Landscaping is important to your home.
It’s a lot of work, but it can be very rewarding when you have a beautiful garden or yard to look at.
If you don’t have time to do it yourself, hiring someone who knows what they’re looking at can save you money and time while still giving you the satisfaction of having a well-designed space that matches the rest of your house’s style (or even better).
When it comes to hiring a landscaper, there are many things you need to consider. Some people hire landscapers to simply do the work for them; others like to be involved in every step of the process so they can learn as much as possible about how their yard looks and functions.
Drywall Repairs
Drywall is a plaster-based material that’s used in construction of walls and ceilings. It can also be used as a base for paint, wall decor and other surface treatments. Drywall tape is an adhesive that repairs cracks or tears in drywall, while glue sticks are better suited for use on wood surfaces (like plywood).
Drywall Repairs: How to Do It
To repair your damaged drywall yourself:
1. Cut out the damaged section of drywall using a utility knife and straightedge. 2. Clean the area with a damp cloth to remove dust, dirt and grime. 3. Measure the size of your repair by adding 2 inches to each edge of the hole and cut new drywall panels accordingly.
Fences and Gates
Fences and gates are one of the most common types of home repairs. They can be made of wood, brick, stone or metal. Gates are not always necessary but they can add a lot to the look of your yard by making it look more orderly and well-kept. For example: if you have a large front yard with no fence around it (or if you don’t want one), consider putting up some gates at either end that will keep pets in and people out.
For example: If there is a small dog who likes to run around your yard when guests come over for dinner parties then installing a gate between his house and yours will keep him from doing so without having wires or other structures blocking his view — which would make him sad because he doesn’t like being confined!
Conclusion
Home repairs are a great way to save money, and they’re also a lot of fun. You can do them yourself or hire someone else to do them for you.
Home repairs can be rewarding, whether you’re working on something that’s not in your regular routine or just taking an afternoon off work so everyone can hang out together as a family.
Finally, home repair projects allow us all to learn new skills and pass along what we’ve learned to our kids—and maybe even their kids!
There are a lot of different types of home repairs that you can do yourself.
Make sure you have the right tools. If your home is older and has been around for a while, it may be time to replace some parts of your plumber’s equipment or electrical work. You’ll need a pair of cutting sheers and maybe even an oscillating saw if there’s any woodwork involved in the job.
Make sure you know what skills are required to do this type of repair properly, as well as where they come from (e.g., plumbing). If necessary, hire someone who specifically has these skills (or just ask around at work).
If possible, hire someone who specializes in doing repairs on homes like yours—this will save both time and money!
Conclusion
There are many types of repairs that you can do yourself. The best way to get started is by looking at your home and making a list of what needs to be repaired. Then, look up the price ranges for each type of repair on Google or Yelp (or wherever else you like) so you know where to start with your budget when it comes time to buy materials

month in review: april - may fic recs
Tumblr media
hello & welcome to my april - may month in review : fic recs! these are fics i’ve read and enjoyed or fics i find myself consistently coming back to, all of which were read by me from april to now. recs are below the cut!
turn you on, make you radiate by ballsdeepinjesus (15k)
[...or, a self-indulgent snapshot of hl’s sex lives over the course of 10+ years]
i don’t remember exactly how i stumbled across this fic, but i am so glad i did. even though this was written 2014, it is so good and so surreally accurate to how i envision h+l today. smut is amazing and varied, with a good amount of details and fluff, but not too much plot.
let me feel your heartbeat by angelichl (35k) @angelichl
Harry is 98% sure Louis hates him. So he feels like his bewilderment is justified when the omega offers to help him through his rut.
this fic is everything that an amazing ABO fic should be! i’ve gone back and reread it a few times because I really enjoyed it so much. such great characterization and good leadup to the ending. such a sweet find!
that mouth of yours by awriterwrites (3k) @a-writerwrites
“Did I–” Louis panted around the sexiest moan Harry thought he had ever heard (at least since the last time Louis moaned–which was about 5 minutes ago). “Did I ever tell you about that guy that I let rim me at one of Liam’s parties in college?”
this fic is so good! short but sweet, and to the point. loved the good details and banter between them!
or four, on the floor by sadaveniren (9k) @sadaveniren
Get into the SWING of spring with a sexy anonymous night full of costumes, fun, and as always, a good heaping of kink! Masks are required, so if you don’t have your own one will be provided for you.
aka Harry and Louis go to No Control's swingers night and find themselves.
so as a sidebar, i also completely recommend the no control verse and the christmas crack verse! sada is such an amazing author, she knows a lot about practical bdsm and how it plays out. her characterization is spot on, and i mean really, i love every single thing she’s ever written, but this story was so good, hot, and it made me laugh! loved it.
i can reflect the moon by bitterlee (29k) @pinksweatshirtfic
it's 1976. harry writes songs. they're about louis. it's none of his business.
i loved this fic so much more than i can describe! it has that old-time feel, reading it you completely believe it is set in the 70′s. details are consistent and believable and the characters are dynamic and amazing.
haven by xxPayne (36k) @homelyrics
"I take it you’re not a new student?” “What?” Harry mumbles, caught up in the way his eyes are quite literally sparkling in the light. “Oh—No. Not a student.” “Are you a sub?” Louis asks. Harry clenches his hands into fists, holding them behind his back as he stumbles a bit. “I don’t, uh—I mean. I’ve never really gotten a chance to be a true sub, you know? My ex-partners were always scared they’d hurt me. But, like—If I trusted someone a lot, and if we used a, a safeword. And talked about, you know, boundaries, then—Yes, yeah, I-I’m a sub.” Louis’ eyes are so wide, his cheeks puffing out in the effort to not burst into laughter. “Oh shit, oh my god,” Harry whispers. “You meant—Oh god."
this!!! fic!!! i have so much love for it. the tension and humiliation in just the summary had me hooked, and the rest of the story did not disappoint. nice fluffy notes, and just cute moments!! yay!

Louis pops his head into the kitchen, “You alright?”
Harry smiles shaking his head, “Just my clumsy arse at it again,” he says laughing.
“I oughta put you over my knee and give you a good spanking,” Louis mutters, chuckling.
Harry freezes. His pulse races so hard he can feel the blood rushing fast and hot throughout his body, like a livewire, zinging through him in a delirious rush. His mouth goes dry, and his eyes are wide. And when Louis turns around to look at him after being silent for so long, it’s like Louis just knows. He understands. Harry loves him so fucking much.
OKAY. i love this story sm!!! the summary pulled me right in because anyone who has a kink they are exploring knows EXACTLY how sweet harry is feeling in that pause. this story is so good and does not disappoint for kinky fun and sweet relationships!

Louis has never had an orgasm. Harry thinks she deserves one.

AU. What happens when a baker and a graphic designer meet via a very specific Craigslist post? Fate, friendship, food, and maybe more.
this is just one of those stories I can always come back to, and it never disappoints. so detailed, so good, amazing characterization... everything a perfect fic needs!

or a (sort of) self-indulgent AU with a lot of Disney, misunderstandings and oblivious people in the city of love.

Or, the 21/28 age difference fic where Harry is younger than Louis thought he was, and even though Louis’ head is telling him not to pursue anything, his heart doesn’t seem to agree.
so here’s the thing, i don’t usually prefer an age difference in fic. it just usually isn’t my thing... but ths fic is amazing. everything that makes me slightly wary of age differences was addressed here, completely amazingly. so consentual and safe and happy, with amazing characterization and lovely details. o much love went into this fic and its obvious!!!!

Harry is a single father, pretending to be a beta after his alpha mated him and left him. He’s getting by just fine raising the twins when Louis walks into his bakery. Too bad him and Louis will never be a thing.
when you read this fic, after picking your jaw up off the floor at how amazing it is, you’ll realize that this was such a labor of love. it is so intricate and well thought out, something that is consistent in all of sada’s works, but is incredibly commendable in a work of this magnitude. everything fron plot to characterization is wonderful, and i wasn’t left feeling like i needed anything else at all from this. so good! i read it all in one go, and had to go read it again to make sure i didn’t miss anything.
thank you so much to every single author listed here: @sadaveniren, @flamboyantommo, @theboyfriendstagram, @haydolce, @zaptains, @got-stars, @a-writerwrites, @homelyrics, @pinksweatshirtfic, and @angelichl! if anyone has the @ for the people i couldn’t tag, let me know so I can tag them!
see you guys at the end of june for your next month in review!
