*Tears of the Kingdom Spoilers*
Playing through the Wind Temple quest has given me even more love and respect for Revali in retrospect because now it’s confirmed that he was literally just a guy™️.
All of the other champions were direct descendants of the sages who fought in the Imprisoning War, except him. He had no special powers or magic passed down through his bloodline, he was just some guy who was good with a bow. He had to develop and perfect his own technique to help him in battle on his own, no other Rito had ever done it before.
Which makes the fact that he, without any noble blood or fancy magic, was able to fight alongside the descendants of the sages AND the Hero of Destiny AND the divine princess/descendant of Rauru and Sonia even more impressive. His outward confidence and ego makes sense when you consider that he was constantly trying to prove himself to everyone, that he was a strong warrior despite not being born with power.
It’s also really sad that in the end, Revali’s bloodline ended with him whereas the other champions at least got to die knowing that their family and loved ones would live on. The only things that serve as a reminder of his existence are the Great Eagle Bow and Revali’s Landing. Almost everyone in Zora’s domain remembers Mipha and honors her memory with an entire courtyard for her statue, Daruk has his face carved in a literal mountain, but Revali is rarely mentioned in TotK. (Urbosa doesn’t really have anything but shhh this aint about her) No one that knew him is still alive, except maybe the former chief owl guy?
That also begs the question of wtf was the Rito sage doing at the time of the Calamity, but honestly they probably were just some random person with no combat experience, given that they didn’t know they were a sage :P
tldr; Revali is the best champion no I don’t take criticism

(spoilers for tears of the kingdom below!)
hmmmmmm so I have to wonder given what we know about totk and everything
in the age of calamity timeline where calamity ganon is defeated 100 years earlier because of ✨wibbly wobbly time-y wime-y stuff ✨
ganondorf's body is still held beneath the castle by rauru's hand, right? i have to wonder if the events of TOTK still happen in that timeline, or like.
if it does end up happening over 100 years after the events of age of calamity (we have to assume that rauru's hand would drop after the same amount of time in both timelines) and if zelda and link aren't alive or even just not exploring beneath hyrule castle then,,,,,
idk why i'm thinking about complex time travel and parallel universes when my brain already hurts but. here i am?
also i think this would be an interesting fic idea but alas i'm struggling with writing a simple post-totk oneshot atm so.

So... as seen in totk, Zelda has time powers. In aoc, Terrako is able to summon people from the future only after Zelda cries on him. Like I know it's almost certainly not connected but I do find it very interesting

Okay, I honestly just want to say this but my siblings and I actually prefer Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
This will be purely about gameplay by the way, so no spoilers on the actual story of either games. I enjoyed both regardless.
Firstly, we both preferred how much more there was to do in HW compared to AoC, and playing the actual levels were a considerably more enjoyable experience. Keep in mind we played both games in two player mode, so that might impact our opinion.
In HW, I was often using Young Link in the levels, and I was my sibling's player two, while they used Link. In AoC, I played Mipha while my sibling played as primarily Revali when they could.
We both found AoC a much more stressful experience for us, and not in the good way. The missions often felt like a slog in some parts where we had to just be everywhere at once with little reprieve. The AI of the allies was also lacking in that nothing would happen if we weren't actively playing them. In HW, my siblings and I would sometimes be surprised by random keeps or outposts being taken or lost even though we weren't anywhere near there. It made the game feel more alive in a way AoC just wasn't.
We also had to struggle with an unexpected difficulty spike in AoC after the master sword was recovered. Suddenly Revali and Mipha weren't doing any damage despite us having a pretty decent level on them. Link also was suddenly taking out entire boss weak point with a couple strikes. It made my experience incredibly poor and made the game feel really unbalanced.
Finally, there's the upgrades for each character. I can only talk about Mipha compared to Young Link though so keep that in mind. In Hyrule Warriors, badges were the main way to get upgrades aside from weapons, and for me personally when playing Young Link the most important aspect was filling my magic and special attack bars as fast as possible to be in Fierce Deity mode as much as I physically can. With Mipha, the only option for upgrade aside from her attack gauge weapons and hearts was how many combos you have. In HW you can increase how fast you take keeps, increase how long your powerups last, increase how much damage you do to enemies with their guard up. There's just... more.
From what I've seen online it's not exactly a popular feeling, but I just think Hyrule Warrior's is a better game than Age of Calamity gameplay wise, for me at least. I felt like I was getting more from HW than AoC.

I don’t want to bother you or anything but do you… possibly have a funny/fluff fic?? (And could I possibly have a hug?? things are just horrible for me tonight rn)
-anon 27
Sure, hon, here you go!
HW Link challenges the Fierce Deity to a drinking contest. Spoiler alert you can't outdrink a god.
My take on the morning after the Sunset arc, in which Twi insists he is 100% fine (which is now canon LOL) and Wars has to serve as Epona to safely and sneakily get Twi back to his room before Time blows a gasket (it starts out angsty but gets fluffy and then silly)
HW Link meets the Fierce Deity and realizes that he is not, in fact, a horrible monster but is, in fact, a Mother Hen.
AoC Link and Mipha chill at a hot spring
WW Link gets his ears pierced and Tetra is a menace
BotW Link and Zelda try to finally enjoy a refreshing beverage in Gerudo Town after defeating Calamity Ganon
Skyward Sword Zelink fluff, pure and unadulterated
The Chain discovers why the Chosen Hero is called the Hero of the Sky, featuring hypoxia and panic attacks and Sky being a gremlin
SS Link and Zelda sparring and being flirty and having fun
SS Link has fun on the Surface during his adventure
Legend spends some quality time almost dying having fun with the knights <3
Twilight is having a rough night and Warriors cheers him up and they're brothers your honor
I'm sorry your night is not going well, but have all the fluffy warm vibes from these fics and hugs from me and the blorbos <3 <3 <3

If Urbosa hadn't interrupted him...
I was hesitant to post this but I guess it's fine whether you know the context or not.

I dont think we realize that Zelda is just a 16 year old up until the calamity hit and yet she knows so much about sheikah technology, is trusted by the top researchers, and is introduced as a scholar first and then as princess. shes a genius
