we were at the vet yesterday for a sudden poop and behavior change (shitting out mostly water and acting like he felt poorly) but he perked up soon after. we have an antibiotic too since there was bit more bacterial growth in his poop than normal. its so so important to catch even more subtle changes than this because it could have been something more serious and tiny animals can go downhill very fast!
insane to me that so many people will permanently house zebra finches in the same sized cage (13 in x 11 in x 12 in) that im getting as the bare minimum to put the new girl in for a Week. & places like petsmart advertise these as good cages for birds
I am so sorry, I have to ramble about the HoT soundtrack.
About Mordremoth's battle theme. Buckle up this will take a moment.
I don't think there is any other final battle theme in any video game that fills me with the particular feeling this one does. We got the outstanding The Cycle Ends with EoD which I'm sure most of us can agree is definitely a tearjerker that without fail pulls on the heartstrings; but I wouldn't even say that Mordremoth's battle theme moves me to tears - it's something else.
It's that one particular transition from the third flight phase to the final phase of the battle (and then that entire phase).
For reference: flight phase starts at 2:34 and transitions around 3:00. 3:15 is the real deal and by 3:30 i'm in shambles lol

I could simply say "It just sounds neat, it's a very unique and atmospheric final battle theme!" and leave it at that. But it's so much more than that.
When HoT released this instance was buggy as all hell (I know it still was for years after that but not even remotely as bad). My girlfriend and I were trying to beat this fight for hours, not because we were bad at it but because we had to replay it so, so often. Either it was a bug that prevented us from progressing to the next phase, or it was a connection error making one of us disconnect forcing us to restart - I think we had to redo that instance 3 or 4 times in total for different reasons. Always during the Mordremoth battle. Which, again, took hours. Y'all know this instance is still long nowadays, and now imagine this without the current power creep (and also I was geared in exotic Clerics. Didn't help the case).
Gameplay aside, I was so absorbed by the HoT story. 2015 was an absolute salad hell year for me, and maining a Sylvari ranger who was not impartial to Trahearne the whole Mordremoth plot was intense.
The transition to the final phase (and then of course the phase itself) is the culmination of all those months of anticipating the expansion, fighting our way through this absolutely brutal jungle, and finally reaching the end of this instance that dragged on for way, way too long. No other song in this game screams "this is it, the finishing line is in sight" as much as this one. And the finishing line will not be a positive outcome.
It gives me goosebumps every time. I love this soundtrack so much.
there was a fire in my apt building on friday (i am safe, everyone is safe, no one was hurt), & when the fire alarm went off i thought it was a drill, then realized it wasn’t. had to super quickly get my budgie into her carrier & get outside (luckily my apt is right next to the stairs). i kept thinking how glad i was to have purchased her carrier only three days prior, & how i’d’ve likely had to leave her behind if i hadnt. so so so very glad everything & everyone is okay!
I’ve been playing Black 2 for only a couple days now, and I guess my biggest complaint so far is that there aren’t enough trainers each step of the way. I kinda hate grinding so much, it was the one thing that aggravated me the most in the first Black - I literally dove straight into the Elite Four as soon as I was levelled with their lowest Pokemon and barely scrapped by because honestly my team wasn’t super optimized, just composed of Pokemon I loved, simply because I got bored and didn’t want to level anymore. I haven’t even attempted Burge and there’s way too few trainers in the entirety of Castelia City. At least I for sure know that Nimbasa has the sport arenas that refresh multiple trainers every day (and also the Battle Subway if there’s a want for something a little bit different lmao), and also that there’s a lot of space for exploration between Nimbasa and Castelia, Castelia only has a couple people. :/ oh well lmao
Do you think Lex would have any pets?? He's definitely a cat person......
Thanks for the ask, anon!
In the Smallville TV Series, Lex had a budgie when he was a kid and I actually thought it's a nice idea for him to love birds because it's cute and it flies around just like Supes (also because I love them too and I can use my own experience).
So, I figured that Lex wouldn't have any pet bird anymore because he just doesn't have time to take care of it. He'd rather go on a monthly walk to look at wild birds from afar... and Conner apparently shares his hobby.
