OH MY GOD I'M GLAD YOU ASKED HOLLUP [PULLS UP MY DAD MIKE/SON GREG HC LIST]

greg absolutely secretly looks up to mike's skill set as an artist. he loves to watch him doodle, mike is the type who'd feel conscious when someone watches him draw but,,, he grew to not mind and got use to greg watchin him draw. he can tell the kid is observing and absorbing what he can learn from simply watching him do art.

^^^ with that in mind, Mike often does catch Greg drawing too, when the lil guy is very proud of his work, he shows it off to him. Mike is very encouraging that he keeps up at it cuz he genuinely thinks the kid is doing great.

^^^ As i established in the previous ask, Greg loves to give art gifts to ppl he cares about. He does the same for Mike, especially in special occasions like father's day, or his birthday and whatnot. Mike displays them either in his room or by the fridge, he is very proud of his son's creative efforts!

Mike is not the best cook out there, you can hardly entrust the kitchen to him without him setting it on fire but he tries his best to do a decent job at making pulled pork recipes ever since he found out it's Greg's favorite.

Greg loves to collect all sorts of cute and silly plushies, anytime he spots any when they stroll across a shop or smth he's so ready to persuade Mike to let em buy it for him. It doesnt take a lot of effort to really, all he has to do is stare up at mike with puppy eyes and Mike knows the drill, he sighs and then painfully pulls out his wallet every time. it's worth it tho, it's for the kid

It's always like a russian roulette who wakes up earlier than who in the morning. Sometimes its Mike, sometimes its Greg. Mike usually preps breakfast, well...as best as he could perform the basics. He's shown the ropes to Greg at some point cuz even tho Greg's a kid, Mike acknowledges that he's capable. Greg's a fast learner, if he does a specific task so often enough, he gets good at it eventually. Its a lil funny tho cuz Greg almost does breakfast better than Mike at times. Greg has some fun making Mike's morning coffee for him, he appreciates it a lot. He thinks it's really sweet, he always affectionately ruffle Greg's morning bed hair as a gesture of thanks.

They have a swear jar in the household. No further elaboration needed i think.

Mike drives a motorcycle bike that used to be owned by his mom. Every time he tells Greg he's headin off somewhere for a quick errand, the lil guy insist he wanna come along solely cuz he wanna ride the bike as well. He enjoys being on the bike, he thinks its hella cool and he feels like flyin, he has to always promise Mike he'll behave just so he lets him come too.

They absolutely love movie nights as a hang out time. They both love watching movies, they just have a good time checkin out any film that peaks their interest. Having fun lil discussion bout it during or after watching and all that. Mike is amused when Greg has a lot to say, he just lets the lil guy share his thoughts bout it.

Whenever Mike gets a call that Greg got into another fight at school and it's often cuz other kid bullies got in Greg's nerve [especially if it's them insulting his guardian to his face] or cuz he tried to defend other kids from being bullied, Mike is so ready to throw hands with said kid bully's parents to defend Greg back. Theyre always on each other's side first and foremost.

When one of them catch the other still up in the middle of the night, the instant thought they have is "cant sleep?" presumably cuz the other most likely had another nightmare. It has happened so frequent, they just came to understand that tryin to pass the time doin other things is often the other best thing they can do to doze back to sleep. They had done plenty of things to pass the time at moments like it : be it watch another movie, draw together, just stargaze outside by the front porch etc etc. They appreciate the other for keepin them company. They've grown to try makin sure they never feel so alone anymore the best they can, cuz they arent anymore when they have each other.

Every ghoul??? Oh god uhhhh

Ok its not every ghoul but the ones i think about the most ig, and i shouldnt say these are my favorite hcs but they are a few random ones that i decided were fun lol

Sodo: That little mf loves to be weird and ominous and just stand all stoic like in dark hallways sometimes, staring with glowing eyes at whatever poor ghoul happens to be at the other end of the hall. It’s not actually all that scary and most ghouls just wave to him and move along with a chuckle but Aether often gets stopped in his tracks or tries to stare ominously back at him, only for Sodo to flinch towards him like he’s gonna run at him and for Aether to book it outa there holding his hands up.

Bonus: He steams when his emotions are high, literally steams. Steam flows out from his mouth, nose, ears, etc. Its kind of annoying sometimes, but at least it looks cool.

Aether: Big guy gives the best hugs in the entire ministry, some might say that they can even cure you of minor injuries or ailments. He is almost always met with eager open arms, and when he’s not (looking at you sodo) he will wrap them up tight and hold them close with a big ol smile anyway no matter how much they grumble and kick. Even sodo cant hide how great he feels when Aether finally lets him go and sends him on his way.

Bonus: Also killer at massages

Mountain: If he wasn’t constantly tapping out rhythms on any available surface wherever he went, he is very quiet. So quiet that sometimes its a jumpscare when all the sudden you hear a beat begin to be tapped out behind you. It’s honestly impressive how well he can pass unnoticed considering how tall he is but he likes to just listen in. Coincidentally, he knows all the gossip you could ever desire. If you have a secret, its best to bribe him now to never share it because its a good chance he already knows it.

Swiss: He and sodo vape together and set up a lil cozy spot to chill in while they do. Basically a blanket fort that they can hotbox on occasion. They think they are soooo cool lmao. Sodo has given him a few burns because of how much Swiss pokes fun at him, but playful bullying is swiss’ love language so its all in good fun. Also this mf is the biggest flirt ever, he has flirted with every ghoul, every sibling, and honestly every object that humors him. He thinks its fun. Generally just a great ghoul to hang around.

The ghoulettes: i honestly dont know much about them to my great dismay but i think they should all cuddle in a giant fluffy pile. Their cuddle piles are probably the best place to sleep in the ministry. Maybe too good actually, any ghoul who joins them has a very high chance of sleeping for much much longer than they had originally intended to. Often finding themselves overslept for some important task, but nothing beats how you feel when you finally wake up. Not tired like you sometimes do after a long sleep, but entirely refreshed.

Bonus Omega: Dude is a poetry nut but he’s embarrassed about most of the time

- hey, do you remember hearing about this new, young, and eligible ceo? everyone keep talking about how they managed to be a leader thats able to be incredibly stern yet kind! said kindness is shown in small, subtle way but its oddly endearing when their face is so cold most the time! they were so cool when they stood up for the new intern, weren’t they? your heart might’ve skipped a beat!

- their heart certainly did. aren’t you just the most eager little thing? so productive.. kind.. naive… how is it that you manage to catch them at their most gentle moments? you caught them feeding a cat one night and go on about about how adorable it was, that was a total hit to their cold, stern reputation!

- they always try to act like a strict person, yet you always manage to get them to mess up their little persona.. god dammit.. were you always so teasing? must you hurt their ego even more? do you even know what you’re doing? they’ll be sure to keep an eye on you..

- as soon as you were hired, you were offered given the job of being their assistant. you’re new to all this so let them teach you how to do this job! they explained the basics alongside a few small things.. like proper dress code rules, how you should handle any fellow staff that try to use you. just tell them and they’ll handle it for you. you’re their assistant now, and you’re under their care.

- surprisingly, they let their guard down not soon after. its not like they had anything left to hide from you.. you were able to see their softer and gentler side that they held back.. they had to be a hard-working and strict ceo but with you.. they could just relax a little and talk about their treasured pets.. if only you’d let them spoil you as well.. you belong to them, its only natural!

- if you had any complaints during the job then they’d handle it in an instant. you were given raises for smalls things like “making a nice cup of tea” or even “having a bright smile today”. of course, a lot of dirty worms had to be removed from their company, but you don’t need to worry about that stuff.. you don’t need to worry about anything at all~!

- it felt like they slowly starting getting closer and closer towards you.. they brushed hands with you more often, they held yours when the two of you had go out.. they’d pat your head for doing a good job.. how adorable you were whenever they got just a teeny bit closer.. they wondered what would happen if they did just a little more than just stroking your cheek..

- they were known for their meticulous planning, you’d seen how hard they worked, and this was just a new plan they made. a life plan for the two of you. it took a lot of patience to hold back and not kiss your cute little head, but it’ll all be worth it in the end. how could a ceo like them fail at fulfilling such an important task?

- turns out they knew exactly how to fluster you.. had you never noticed how much of a romantic they were? their little note in the important document they gave you was remarkably sweet coming from them. so was the way they invited you for a quick bite after a long day of work. they were being way more casual and bold now.. how they leaned in and smiled whenever you talked..

- all was according to plan, darling. all you had to do was keep being your cute self~ they already made sure to keep away any variables in your personal life that may keep you away from them. you were just in the palm of their hands, weren’t you? the quick yet sweet first kiss you shared basically signed your fate.

- you will end up being theirs.. you were exactly like that cute little kitten that they had. you just didn’t know how planned out their actions were. but they’d be patient.. they had planned it all the way to your wedding, things can’t go wrong after so much planning.

- of course… its always best to have a contingency plan. if by any chance you didn’t want to be theirs then.. that just meant they didn’t need to be patient anymore. you’d be with them by daylight, whether you like it or not, but you’ll learn to love it, won’t you?

what's Monster Hunter gameplay like? I've seen a lot of cool designs I'm interested in but I know nothing about the actual game

It's basically a game where everything is a final boss :3

You are a hunter and get tasked with taking down monsters that increase in size and danger as you progress. The fights themselves are very straightforward, you grab one of the 14 weapon types (each with their own type of gameplay so there's something for everyone) and just attack until its dead. MH is different from other similar games in that its slightly more "realistic" since you can't see the monsters health bar and you just have to play it by ear and learn to recognise when its limping away or when it gets Real Mad. You also have to sharpen your weapon as it dulls over time.

Hunts also don't last more then 50 minutes tops, thats the uppermost time limit, so hunts cant be huge timesinks

When you defeat the monsters you acquire parts from them (scales, plates, horns, etc) with which to craft sick armor and weapons to be able to take down badder monsters

The maps are also pretty big and theres more things to do than hunt depending on the game, like killing smaller monsters or going around gathering stuff like minerals and herbs and the like. And in monster hunter world you can collect animals for your house :3

There isnt a lot of story for it and it certainly doesnt happen during fights so you can look up any monster you like on youtube and watch someone fight it and see if it's something you vibe with

Questionnaire time, I've never done a questionnaire for an oc I dont think so this outta be fun? Seen a few others do it, so why not! ( Questions from here! ) For the Showdown! Now let's see here....

Zenyx the Zeti

✨How did you come up with the OC’s name?

Well for starters, since she's a Zeti I obviously had to limit to Z names only as per zeti tradition of course, so theres that. In terms of her actual name though, I dont.... quite remember? I think it was something along the lines of taking Interesting and Unique names that already existed (meaning or letter make-up wise, etc) and then seeing if I could form it into a half-decent Z name? so I started with something like nyx I believe (given the end half of her name), and I somehow molded it into Zenyx- I liked having a Z, Y, and X in her name bc it felt unique to me? I am likely forgetting the full process but thats basically it I think. Now how you pronounce it gives it its extra flair so to speak ig 😂 It can be "Zen-ix" (Zen like Pen) or "Zeen-ix" (Zeen like Zeena); I personally use the latter but only bc the former makes it sound like a medicinal drug which is funny; but either or is fine I think.

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

As of the events of Sonic Lost World, she is roughly 140 years old Which places her between Zavok (148) and Zomom (133) on the D6's age scale!

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?

🍕 - What is their favorite food?

Zenyx really isn't a picky eater, so she'll literally and happily eat anything... as long as it's not Fish/Seafood. She does find Sweets (especially cakey stuff) or Meaty Snacks (think jerky or SlimJims) most favorable though

💼 - What do they do for a living?

Due to her being an Offcolor, she can't really do anything outside of the Six's territories, so all her work is limited to specific areas. She's normally relegated to Beast Work and Animal Handling- as she is a BeastKeeper just like her meemaw- like sheep shearing in Windy Hill or Bee Handling (and Honey Collecting) or Worm Wrangling in Desert Ruins for some examples. Otherwise she's sort of worked her way into being a sort of "right hand man" for Zavok in the Packs' "hierarchy" so to speak, as she doesnt normally disappoint when given tasks and is very eager to please.

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

I'd almost say a majority of her Beast Work counts as a hobby? As she doesnt just see all the beasts and critters of the Hex as objects or a means of "profit" and instead tends to make friends with them- making alot of the work later much much easier. As a BeastKeeper, she has a strange ability to understand them just a bit more than an average Zeti can. She does have a knack for collecting things though; normally cool rocks or shells, shiny things, special keepsakes from the others if they travel where she cant follow, and on a more morbid side- antlers n' bones/skulls n' horns... Not Zeti horns, though she has snapped a few tips from trespassers none the wiser as a warning. Frequent sneaky travel throughout the Six's territories as well, I think- hiking? I guess? She enjoys being active and running around and not being bored.

🎯 -What do they do best?

She's described as "versatile" due to picking up on things super quick, so she's really a jack of all trades I suppose when it comes to bringing skills to the table in comparison to the other Six. BeastKeeping would be an easy mention? Or hiding- as she's done so excellently her whole life, so stealth? I may have to come back to this if I think of anything else. Keeping the others in check? (affectionate)

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

Looking back on it now, her two best memories are likely... When Zavok encountered her, and after a bit of a scuffle 'n' chase, promised not to harm her if she'd just reveal herself. While he was a bit taken aback by her appearance (all the white), he wasn't as bothered by it as she thought he'd be- he seemed more focused on the fact she very easily gave him a bit of a run for his (non-existent) money by evading his chase for so long- and inadvertently cornered him up in the dead treetops where they then stood when she finally revealed herself proper. It'd evolve into a slow but steady friendship, which would eventually lead to her joining the Six- making them a Seven instead. In a hindsight type of way, she remembers it fondly and with a good chuckle, bc the encounter lead to Good Things rather than Bad Things like she often fears. The other is very simply put; finally meeting Zursie, her meemaw 🥺 It was a very heartwarming event and she always thinks about it sweetly. She loves her meemaw with all her heart- she is the only (bio) family she really has anyway, and Zursie couldn't care less what her granbby looks like. No Scary Superstitions will ever make her hate her beloved lil granbby, no sir! 😤 That first meeting was one that consisted of prolonged silent staring and then smiling and then some disbelief and alittle crying and alot alot alot of hugs! Hugs n snuggles n nuzzles

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

Yes and No- the only changes she's gone through is tweaking how her mouth works visually and making her more curvy/muscled? Oh and the pattern on her tail, that was different at one point. She has not gone through any major redesigning, just minor detail tweaking- everything else has stayed relatively the same since I created her.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

Uh (secret context), wanting to be lil silly different, and my ever-growing love for the Deadly Six

🌂 - What genre do they belong in?

(I honestly couldn't tell you, im unsure?)

💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?

Female (She/Her) and very openly Pan

🙌 - How many siblings does your OC have?

She is an only child!

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?

Ah well... Her mama has long since passed (due to having zenyx) and her father (Zurius) went into a long, deep, very reclusive depressional state after hiding a bby Zenyx away. To put it short, she has virtually no relationship of any kind with her parent(s), but instead has a wonderful and extremely loving relationship with her grandmother Zursie (Zurius' mother) instead, despite said relationship only properly forming recently. (By recently I mean like for 20ish years by the time LW occurs).

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

She's just fun and I can make her as full of attitude yet sweet yet feral and powerhousey as I want; she still has her limits, but she has less limits then most of my other soncs do I guess? So i'd say I just love that she's easily very very fun to draw and write for- and she's a Zeti! She has easily been one of the easiest and funnest ways to focus on my own Zeti lore and bibble. She's just extremely fun to me, I love love love her alot. Im terrible at explaining things.

✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?

hyperfixations be damned, she (and zeti in general) are all i've been thinking of for months- So I would comfortably say fairly often at this point in time And considering how much of a favorite she has turned out to be amongst my OCs in general, she will likely always be thought about to some degree

💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?

Hahahahaaha Not again, she doesnt deserve that.

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?

Uh, Untimely Death? Dying Alone? Losing a Loved one? uh Failure (of which results in being abandoned)? a more normal one ig would be needles/getting stabbed/impaled?

🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?

funny joke answer? I like to think her and Zazz have a very rival-esque tension sometimes, very competitive and insulting at times but still very fun in a way? they're friends and weirdly platonically affectionate deep down I promise (she is with all of them) arch-enemy would have to be Sonic (and Tails) by default, given the whole pack Does Not Like Him- but she's more aggressively annoyed by him (them) than anything. another default would be Eggman, now him she very comfortably despises with a fiery passion.

She really doesnt (aka cant) interact with anyone else on such a level usually to have formed any other 'Enemy' status' with anyone. I can tell you though that seeing her pack get handled the way they did during the Metal Virus does not sit well with her :) There might be a hitlist :)

🎓 - How long have you had the OC?

Going back through my files, the first time I drew her with enough contempt to say 'yes this is a new oc' was apparently 10/31/21- so we're coming up on two years!!!

Day 7

CW: mentioning sexual harassment

Ghost is waiting to get his injured arms x-rayed again. Looking how good they healed by now. Usally he would be annoyed by this, but he's in a good mood after his call with Soap yesterday. God he's down bad, Simon brought a bunch of emotions with him from his grave in Ghost mind. Even the nurses pick up on it, he needs to fix this. He is a private person and being part if the infirmary gossip makes his skin crawl. At least they think its a someone of the nursing staff, besides the head nurse. She is on to them, something about 25 years of experience and watching pinning soilders. Atleast she's supportive, saying that it was about to happen in a task force like the 141. And she's right he and Soap work together since the start of 141 and had countless missions together. Besides Roach Soap is the only person he touches outside of whats absolute necessary.

Soap sits in his office just coming back from a walk with Riley when Shepard walks in. Oh shit. "Captain MacTavish", he greats with a smile on his face. Oh he's fucked. "General how nice to have you here", Soap lies through his teeth, not even trying to smile knowing he cant pull it of. "I have a special mission for the 141", Shepard starts and Soap is braceing himself mentally. "As I told you everyone is eighter already out or on medical leave", Soap repeats his statement from 2 days ago. "Isn't Sergeant Sanderson and his team back by now?", Shepard asks and Soap gets a really bad feeling. "They are stucked in a monsume, when I checked din with him your save house was turning the lower level in a pool", Soap explains. "Who will back first?", Shepard demands to know. "Price and Beta Team is coming back to night." "Thats to late.", the General complaints trying to starr Soap down, force him to agree. "I'm sorry General, but we can't take this mission. We honstely don't have space for any additional missions. We are really busy." "How convinced Captain", Shepard already losing his patience. If looks could kill Soap would lie on the floor by now. "Is not my fault we found a intel gold mine and have to hunt down the leads", Soap conters the accusation of the General. "What do we even work with you together if you cant even take one singel mission", Shepard smears and Soap has to put a lot of effort keep his cool. Soap stays silent everything he wants to say will keep him longer on Shepards shit list. "The pentagon should probably cut the american buged for the 141", Shepard continues his angry rant. Shepards monologe goes on for 20 minutes and he ends it with: "Well maybe I should put my own men in the taskforce so that the job finally gets done right." "Well General if you're not happy with how the 141 is working you can make your own special taskforce, we had no complaints about our work yet", is the most diplomatic think Soap can muster to say, basically telling the General that he is the problem. Shepard is fuming at this before angry storming out of the office. Yeah, place 1 of the shit list is still his. He is so fucking angry about how Shepard smeared the work of the 141. This is now personal for him.

Soap is in the worst mode for having any disciplinary talks, but it has to be done. He just hopes this don't get on his nerves to much. He didn't hade any time to blow of some steam, so his ability to take anymore bullshit is absolute zero. Riley is leaving him alone sensing his bad moot, laying a bit further away carefully watching him. She has seen some of Ghost angry out bursts and the aftermath of them. How draind Ghost is after them, sometimes about to cry when he realises how much like his father he is. Sergeant Meyers is walking in Soaps office and Soap is tensing. "Captain MacTavish", the Sergeant greats him saluting. Soap hates how relaxed Meyers is about the situation. Probably got away with it before. Soaps blood is boiling already. He will get all up in Meyers face, the second Meyers steps over the line. "I have a complain about your behaviour Sergeant", Soap simply states, Meyers still being way to relaxed. "From whom?" "Anonymous." "So it's all made up then if they don't even want to but their name on it." Soap is disgusted by the smugness in the Sergeants voice. "Oh so you didn't encourage or atleast dont stop 5 Privats to sexual harassing a fellow female soilder?", Soap asks giving Meyers one last chance to admit. "Never seen or heard a thing, Sir." " So you never over heard and I quote: " 'With this fat tits you should change carriers, I would be your first costumer'?" Meyers confidence is waving when he hears the disgust in Soaps voice. "No, Sir." "What about 'Can I cover you big titts with my cum? I bet it would make them look even better'?" "No, Sir." "So you didn't tell Private Hotchner last week that 'she would help bossting morals by not covering up her big fat titts'?" "I..", Meyers stammers knowing he's in deap shit. "Answer the question Sergeant. Yes or No. Did you or did you not?", Soap voice cold with rage his eyes burning holes in the Sergeants head. "Yes, Sir", the Sergeant stammers out. "So am I right to assume that the female Privates don't feel comfortable to report this kind of harassment to you?" "Yes, Sir", the face of the Sergeant an unhealthy pale. "Why do you think thats the case?" "Because I.. because I participate in the same behaviour, Sir." "You still think the report is fake, Sergeant?", Soap asks his finale question. "I.. no Sir." "Thats what I thought", Soap spit out his voice cold and emotionless. Meyers squirms under his gaze, nervously waiting for whatvever punishment the Captain sees fit. "What's my punishment, Sir?", the Sergeant asks when Soap continues to burn holes in his head. "I will talk about it with Captain Price and Ghost", Soap answers a cold smile on his face. "Ghost?", Meyers stammers about to faint now. "That's a problem?" "No Sir." "Oh and Sergeant you will punish and observe the punishment of the 5 Privates. They will clean the showers with a toothbrush, for the next 2 months " "Yes Sir, of course Sir." "I will know if you let them get away with this or make their punishment easier." Meyers only nots at this not able to verbaly confirm he understood. "Dismissed." Meyers nearly runs out his Office.

Riley carefully puts one of her paws on Soaps leg. Getting aggressive head scratches from Soap, who takes a deep breath he needs to punch someone or fuck, he don't care at this point. He lets out a sign before giving Riley his full attention for now. Scratching Rileys favourite spot behind her left ear. Riley is resting her head on Soaps leg looking content. "Spoiling my dog with affection, Captain?", a voice sudenly asks, making Soap flinch. "Fuck Ghost, stop living up to your call sign", Soap complains looking up again. "Not my problem when you don't pay attention to your surroundings", Ghost says shrugging, a amused glint in his eyes. "You're allowed out of medical?", Soap changes the topic. "All healing well, 3 more weeks then the cast gets of", Ghost states and Soap senses that something is up. "You want a medical leave form?", Soap asks. "No, I can recover on base, shorter ways. You know." Soap needs to a moment so he don't say anything he shouldn't say no the admin building. "Of course, so you here to take Riley with you?", Soap asks. "No." Soap frowns at this, what does Ghost want then. "Over heared your littel talk with Meyers. Poor guy nearly fainted when he saw me", Ghost says casually aproaching Soap. Soap trys to watch Ghost and the door at the same time, if Shepard honestly anyone walks in they are fucked. Ghost leans down before wispers I his ear: "You're frustrated, Captain?" Ghost voice is so low and deep right now giving Soap goosebumps. "Yes", Soap admits before waiting for Ghost respons. "Want to get some stress relief?" Soap breath hitches at this, hes breathing now audioable. "No, yes I.. fuck Simon not here", Soap shutters out, looking at the door warry that every can see them. "Know a spot", Ghost wispers such nice dirty promises in his ear. Soaps brain sady reminds him about an important detail. "We can't Shepard is on base", Soap says knowing he's ruining the mood with this. He wants to hear more about Ghost plan. Ghost makes a frustrated noice before pulling back, looking more affected by this then Soap.

Ghost pupils are blown, the usual cold blue's producing a lot of heat right now. He just wants a good fuck is that to much to ask? "What did he want?", Ghost asks crossing his arms in front of his chest. "Tryed to give us a mission." "We have enough mission and not enough people already", Ghost reminds both of them of their big workload of the last two months. "Wanted to send Roach and the two FNGs out, but that's not the worst yet. Sounds like he wants to partly take 141 over", Soap explains why he got out of the conversation this morning. "He will have to rip the taskforce out of Price dead hands, old man probably will come back from the dead to prevent this", Ghost jokes to lighten the mood a bit, knowing Soap knows that he takes this serious. "I think he would like to replace me." Ghost eyes turn dark at this filled with cold rage. "Think that's what all this is about. He knows he can't get Price out, so he targets me. Think about it, the shady interrogation on our home base with his own men. The 'important' mission for Roach that cant wait till Price and Beta team are back." "Thinks that would cause a public up roar, if ever found out. Maybe bad enough to get kicked out", Ghost concludes the atmosphere of the room took a 180 by now. "Fucking cunt", Ghost courses, making Soap laugh unamused. "When does Price come back?", Ghost asks the sooner Price is back the better. "22:00"

Ghost still sits in Soaps office, giving Riley all the attention that she wants. Being deep in thought, first his mind was occupied with their littel problem with Shepard. How he could kill him, slow and painful, so many good options for this too. The sad reality is that it has to look like a accident, maybe they could lead a false trace, but a quick accident something totally ordinary would be the safest choice. People died all the time falling down stairs or getting run over by a car. But after reading the complaints he is thinking about a good punishment for Meyers. "Soap?", Ghost asks in the comfortable silence. "Aye?", Soap answers not looking up from his papers. "How about the person that filed the complaint is chossing the punishment?", Ghost suggests making Soap look up. "If Price agrees, I don't see why not", Soap says with a smile. Soap is streaching his arms before standing up, getting Riley to walk to the door exited. "You're coming?", Soap ask leash in the hand. Ghost stands up needing to stretch himself after who knows long he sat on the chair.

They walk next to each other towards the forest, making sure they don't walk to close to each other. Riley pulling the leash the whole time very excited over her owner being back to walk her, more or less. Ghost looks over his shoulder the buildings of the base only small dots in the distance. He starts feeling nervous, its ridiculous being this nervous over what is is about to do. He carefully reaches out for Soaps hand, brushing there fingers against eachother. It could be seen as a radom touch, but Soap hooks his ring and littel finger with Ghosts. Both men smiling softly, it doesn't really fit them with what they do for work. They kill for a living but here they are holding hands walking Riley together it's disgustingly domestic. The cold persona of the Ghost is being pushed aside by Simon. It is strange after such a long time to be just Simon again. Its a bit overwhelming to feel so much emotionally, but the warmth of the intertwined fingers ground him. Riley stops at a tree sniffing it very intresteted. They turn to each other Ghost smile getting bigger when he sees the light pink blush on Soaps cheeks. Soap looks so soft at him before stepping closer. He puts both his hands at the seam of Ghost balacalava waiting, silently asking Ghost for permission. Soap carefully pulls the fabric up, stoping the the bridge of his nose. Soap licks over his lips needing some time flashing a shy smile at Ghost. Ghost huffs amused about the absurdity of them publicly wispering filthy promises to each other but getting all shy about holding hands and kissing. Soap opens his mouth to ask what's so funny, but Ghost is leaning in and the question is wipped out of Soaps brain. Soap closes the gap, pressing his lips against Ghost. It's shy kiss, but feels perfect for the peaceful moment. Soap presses his nose against Ghosts feeling like when he had his first kiss with Susie Prentes in 8th grade. The warm and giddy feeling of kissing someone you care about for the first time. He can't stop the big smile apearing on his face, humming pleased when he sees the mirroring smile on Simon.

Ghost thought by the record how all their interactions about what is in between them go, that their kiss would be filthy. Instead it was soft and tame, he's fucking gone by this simple gesture. All kisses Ghost had up to this point where part of getting ready to fuck, they where filthy, desperate and hungry. But this kiss was the exact opposite of this and they shouldn't kiss like this. Soft kisses and holding hands is something you do when you're in love. Love has no place in their line of work, only would end in disaster but he dont care. Seeing how Soap is looking and smiling at him, washes the cold loneliness away, sooths the need of 6 year-old Simon Riley to be loved. They kiss again the shyness washed away by the understanding they both feel the same. When Soap licks over his lips Ghost pulls away. "To much?", Soap asks. "No, but if we make out I might don't care if you fuck me in a forest on the ground with no lube", Ghost atmids blushing himself now. "Sounds good to me." Soaps eyes are sinfull to look at right now, how they are darkened and the pupils are a bigger then needed for the amount of rest day light. "Yeah, I think Riley would not like that", Ghost reminds Soap of why they are even in the forest. The tree long had stopped being interesting and Riley patiently sits to their feet, waiting. "Another time then", Soap jokes while shrugging his shoulders. "You're into this primal stuff Soap?", Ghost ask suprised before stepping away. Soap looks uterly confused by the question. "A primal kink Soap, like hunting someone before you fuck on the floor like animals for example", Ghost explains, seeing the moment when realisation is washing over Soap. Soap blushes at this before he starts walking again. The next time Soap is on leave he needs to do some research.

They are standing next to the air field waiting for Price to return. They need to talk with Price as soon as possible. It dark already so they would here the apraoching plane long before they see it. "Ghost?", Soap asks knowing that now is not the time or place but he needs to now. Ghost humms as answer turning towards Soap. "Are you into it?", Soap asks referring to their talk in the forest. "I'm into things that are part of it, but I wouldn't say I have it", Ghost answers their conversation covered up from unwanted eardropers by a starting helicopter. Soap nods at this starring in the night sky again to look for the plane. "You think you have it?", Ghost asks curious. "Don't known need to look it up first", Soap answers sounding a bit mortifyed. "Would you, I mean if I had it?", Soap asks nervously. Ghost keeps his answer for later because General Shepard is aproaching them. "Captain MacTavish, Lieutenant Riley", he greats them. "General", they answer in unison. "How long till they land?", Shepard asks. "10 minutes, Sir", Soap answers. This are the longest 10 minutes of Soaps life. When the airplane finally lands and an exhausted Price and Beta team emerged Shepard marche towards them. Ghost and Soap give each other warry side glances. Price says something that Shepard doesn't like because they end up arguing. It seems like Shepard lost the argument because he storms of angry. Price walks towards them. "Price", Soap greats him and Ghost gives him a nod. "What's going on with Shepard and why is he even here?", Price asks. "To cause trouble", Soap simply answers. "What did you do Soap?", Price asks tiered, like he dont have the mental energy to deal with this. "I declined two of his request that where very last minute", Soap gives the short answer. "We talk about this tomorrow." "Yes, Sir."

AHHH TYSM ANON!! ive been having a lot of fun with au (but im a lil. tapped out for ideas, but the general idea is that you can do. ANYWAYS going to use this an opportunity to ramble about clown and spoke!! this is gonna focus more on their myths rather than their cults bc. i have a clearer image abt their myths than their cults (and vice versa for ash and red)

ANYWAYS lets start of with clown! ^_^ for some context, clown's username used to be godlysins (which is something he only went by for a little bit, he's been using clownpierce for a Lot longer) but basically id imagine he'd start off as a god, and after some time his mythology would be about him rejecting godhood and being able to complete impossible tasks as a mortal (also he gets a name change, pissing off any historians trying to study him <3), so essentially functioning as a greek hero in this au (also bc i think there's this cool quote of him saying that he's human, so that's a fun tie in!). anyways he's popular among warriors and looked up by anyone who wants to accomish something really hard :)

i also mentioned spoke being an import god in my tags where i mentioned clown, and that idea is mostly because iirc he got a lot of his powers from a hypixel exploit? don't quote me on that though im not very caught up on his lore (or ls lore in general </3 i cant watch streams bc of School and energy levels) . anyways since he seemingly got his powers from a 3rd party, id imagine (similar to the original theory about dionysus' origin before we found his name in older records) that spokes origin myths would have him coming from some far off land and having arcane powers compared to the other god bc he got it from somewhere else ^_^ awesome! (also this is a Different reason to why i think ash is more of an import god bc ash is known for. a lot of things? like you cant really point where Most people know him, so that idea kinda transferred to him being an import god)

Out of curiosity, how would one go about writing a fever? An escalating one that just gets warmer and warmer?

OK SO THIS ASK HAS TWO PARTS: A MORE CLINICAL PART AND A MU IS A SICKFIC WRITER WHO LIKES TO WRITE SICKFIC PART.

PART ONE: I ACTUALLY HAVE A GUIDE ON THIS FROM A NURSING MAJOR THAT GOES INTO DETAIL ABOUT PHASES OF A FEVER AND EVERYTHING, literally like, i don't find myself following this to a point when i write but i think about the broken down phases so much just subconsciously it has stuck with me for years and i think would be really helpful so here it is. i think this will be really helpful for the escalation aspect.

PART TWO: if you want something a little less clinical and more casual here are some fever tips i wrote for all my friends during sicktember last year copypasted onto this ask. NOTE i am not a medical professional i'm just an autistic who both 1. has a narrative fixation and 2. likes to study diseases and immune responses

SO fevers are cool cause they're kind of unpredictable which means you can tailor them to your sickie. some people run hot some people run cold. some people feel so exhausted they cant move others get hyper and cant calm their heartrate down. you can really just do whatever the fuck.

uhhhh a couple misconceptions about fevers:

theres this old saying thats like feed a cold starve a fever. this is wrong its an old wives tale. all sickies need food to strengthen their immune response, the stronger the immune response the quicker their fever will fuck off. UNFORTUNATELY even the lowest fever will suppress appetite. the first stage of a fever is usually a lack of appetite--not necessarily nausea just, like, a general distaste for food and outright lack of hunger. this is good for drama

some people will claim that, like, after a certain age you don't really get fevers when u have something like a common cold? this is untrue. your body will give you a fever over literally anything. you can get a fever from an infected wound, or a simple illness, or even just from working too hard. never let anyone bully you out of not making your character feverish.

what constitutes a fever really kinda is different person to person. 98.7 is the average body temperature and anything above that is a fever but like i usually run 96-97 so i consider 98 something to worry abt. some people will say its not a fever until you hit 100 but thats WACK to me i'll get 99s all the time when im sick.

ok so symptoms

lack of appetite, like i said this is the most basic of basics its almost a guarantee.

chills or hot flashes, again depends on what you find most interesting. you can do both! you can rapidly oscillate. sometimes sickie might feel freezing cold from the neck down but their head is on fire. sometimes they might be cold all over, put on a blanket, and immediately be too hot. just a general lack of temperature regulation but it straightup does not matter the key is just that they are uncomfortable in whichever direction.

body aches body aches oh my god the most underrated symptom. a low fever might make raising your arms above your head feel like an ordeal, a higher one can all but immobilize you. im talking like can barely move an inch. generally with a fever it feels like you just spent the day walking or exercising and are recovering, just wiped out.

kind of with the above but outright exhaustion. sickie might just start falling asleep wherever they are. on a desk. standing up. who knows. just being conscious is a Task

if their fever creeps into higher digits like 102+ they might get delirious. they might say and do stupid shit, or out of character shit at the very least. this is super fucking awesome cause u can make them act out of character and scare the caretaker a lil if you want. walled in characters might start getting emotional. serious characters might get silly. its basically an instant lack of inhibitions, you have an excuse to make them say what they are feeling in their heart without them worrying about saying it. or you can just make them shitpost if you want something more lighthearted.

you didn't ask about caretaking but if anyone reading this wants that here's caretaking:

feed them, but more importantly HYDRATE THEM fevers dehydrate you so bad. hydration is the key to every ailment but fevers ESPECIALLY need to be fought with lots of electrolytes. water the sickie,,, water them like plant.

meds if applicable

help them regulate their temperature! a cool towel on the forehead really does work, but wrap em in a blanket too if they're shivering. as a rule shivering is bad. i dont remember all the science behind it but shivering generally stimulates more heat which makes the fever worse, so keep cooling them down to a minimum w something like a cold pack or wash cloth.

keep them company. if delirious sickie is having a breakdown a thing their caretaker can do is talk them through it. sometimes a fever will make you overstimulated but if sickie is good with touch, hold their hand or stroke their hair perhaps. verbal affirmations that its gonna be ok. on the flipside if your sickie is talking absolute nonsense or acting like a fool you can make the caretaker fucking babysit them like sweet jesus ok im not leaving you alone.

related to the above but staying with them is good if theyre too sick to do much besides lay there. reading to them so they dont get bored. telling them a story. putting on a show for them and just kinda chilling. or just talking! boredom is the worst part of being sick i think.

massage underrated. give sickie shoulder massage. back massage. they are full of bone hurting juice help them get that shit out. every time i had a fever my bestie would give me a back massage and im gonna think abt it for the rest of my life perhaps.

Grinning evily, I SHALL DO SO!

So ik its been a while since i've really drawn or talked about my boys but a refresher for everyone is i have an OC universe/story loosely titled Flesh and Bone with is a The Thing inspired story featuring my Oc's Clay, Damien and Jack! All three work on a shady arctic base run by an evil corp unbeknownst to them, and after a sequence of horrible incidence and creature attacks Clay is 'killed' only to come back as! Some sort of slopbeast thing monster! He's cool and chill though, not a threat to anyone; hes a wet bag of nerves desperately trying to maintain his shape as the man he was once before, because thats who he is!! It's a story about identity (both in all my main cast being trans men but also in the more metaphorical and subtextual reading of. Clays whole deal lmao) and exploring what that means, and its also about three gay fruits experiencing THE HORRORS!

I have not written it, it's far too big a task rn, but thats the basic idea <3 everyone can always feel free to check the flesh and bone tag or any oc tags (ie oc: damien, oc: clay, oc: jack ect) on my blog to see stuuuuuuff about it!

MORE BELOW THE CUT, LIKE WAY WAY MORE SO MUCH LMAO, and as always heads up for horror themed when it comes to my lil oc's and their world <3

Lately a lot of what i've been thinking about with my oc's has been the physical changes that happen throughout the time they spend trapped in that research base, because they are there for a LONG time they do look different than they do at the start! Obviously there's the general stuff like Damien's hair growing long and the roots showing, Clay's facial hair getting scruffy and his hair getting long and unruly too, jack cutting all his long hair off (too dangerous to wield a flamethrower frequently with all that hair in the way in his learned opinion); but then there's the more physical side of going through this really tough time too, more than just aesthetic changes like hair and clothing changes. The most obvious is yes, Clay IS just a writhing mass of meat that replicates the appearance he wants to be seen as; yes including his clothes his scarf has a heartbeat don't worry about it. But then there's stuff that's not Whatever the hell Clay's deal is; Jack loses a leg, they all gain a multitude of new scars, this is a long, tough situation to survive and none of them are untouched by this- but thats part of the point! You can go through traumatic stuff and you can make it through, it might change you, it might change stuff about you, sometimes in ways you cant undo, but you can still make it through!! And you can still be loved as you rightfully deserved, and you can live a long happy peaceful life!! Thats a big part of the heart of *waves hands* what i am doing in my head with my oc's.

When i can draw for longer periods again i'd like to make reference sheets with 3 views of each character on each, a before, during, and after.

Another thing i've been thinking of lately is the day comes back after 'dying'! And its both horrific and later funny so i like it a lot.

So. Thing style monster drags him away screaming from the base, he is torn to shreds, the last person to see him alive is Damien and he watches that thing tear him *apart*. Everyones pretty certain he's very dead.

Days pass.

Then Clay wakes up in a hollowed out ice cave, one thats been melted into this larger open space by the pile of dead flesh and meat that has been dumped inside it, the pile that he has also been dumped in. It reeks, its horrific, he has to climb and clamber his way to the top in a state of abject disgust and horror; he doesn't remember how he got here. He doesn't remember anything past that thing getting a hold of him. (Unbeknownst to him he IS that thing but he'll figure that out later, he kind of does know that to an extent but not on any conscious level nor is he willing to accept it to much later, boys in denial. When it killed him and ate his flesh for some reason it fucked the beast up and fully replaced whatever it was before with his memories and consciousness so this is him now, the body he had before is gone, this is Clay now)

The only way out of this cave is a very narrow passage leading up, he starts to try and crawl in. Too tight, he doesn't fit. He keeps trying and trying in sobbing desperation until....he.....does fit. Shoulders give way, he slides in, this gap too small to rightfully fit his head through he is somehow now fitting through. He's going to pretend he isn't, he's not a stupid man but he fully cannot cope with comprehending his body moving as if boneless right now, his brain cannot cope nor begin to even parse the possibility that he is morphing like slimy slipper meatgoop to fit through here. He escapes, collapses out there on the ice for a bit miles from the base. He cries for a bit. Repeats in his head over and over that that hole was big enough for him, it was normal, he crawled normally, it was normal and fine. And then he eventually starts walking through freezing winds and blizzards in the direction he hopes the base is.

NOT FUNNY YET I KNOW, BARE WITH ME. ITS THE NEXT BIT OK

Clay reaches the base eventually and climbs through a window, enters the currently empty dining hall. He's back! He is. So so mentally checked out and traumatised and FUCKED from his experience that all he can think to do is just....go back to normal, pretend it never happened. He sits down. Pours himself a coffee in his favourite mug.

Footsteps echo closer, people are coming.....

jack and Damien walk in and freeze. They stare at Clay.

Clay stares at them.

'H-hey!' He says, waving over, 'you uh! You guys are up early!'

DAMIEN GRABS JACKS ARM, GET THE FLAMETHROWER HE SAYS

CLAY GOES OOP!!!!!

post707883411295043585 thats part of the problem tho is yall assume that just bc stuff doesnt come out on time means theyre not working on it. as if they just sit twiddling thumbs. shit isnt slow bc they need more motivation. its slow bc they have a bare bones staff of maybe 1-2 ppl & all else is contracted work they barely have the cash for.

"right now basically nothing ever gets done" & you think adding a few dates to a list would fix that? you think they dont know theyre falling behind? that its not obvious? as if they dont already have internal set dates they aim for that just havent been shared w the userbase?

they dont need more motivation or accountability. they need more staff & more funds. all the accountability in the world cant add extra hours in the day. you can be working as hard as you possibly can & still not meet deadline bc its just not humaenly possible w the resources you have. look at the underlying problem instead of just surface optics.

they could put dates just to placate yall. but it would be an empty gesture. theyd still be just as behind as always bc the dates are not tackling the base issue. itd be the same old shit but more to get mad abt as they still fail to meet dates you asked them to set.

some of yallve never worked on large amateur creative ventures & it shows lmao. youd be amazed how fast a few months can go by & youre only doing background shit so theres still no visible progress you can share publicly. you worked every single day but still feel theres nothing tangible enough to show for it. a few months can go by fast esp when you dont have just one job & are juggling 10 different tasks w simultaneous importance bc its just you or mayb 1 other person taking on 6 ppl worth of work.

just remember were all looking from the outside. theres always backend stuff goign on we never know abt. (i know. ironically im making assumption too. but its based on so much experience w these sorts of teams. dv has all the signs. plus context clues given on stream & rare times staff communicates. textbook understaffed scope creepy amateur project tbh.)

if this were neopets or some shit own by a large company w hundreds of employees maybe itd be different. but some of yall are always gonna be miserable if you dont manage your expectations. see it for what it is instead of what you want it to be. & sometimes look at whats been accomplished. they DO get stuff done. theyre not dropping 80 updates a month, but to me it looks like they make slow steady progress. miss goals but do follow up eventually. they are literally completing tasks. & show signs of taking feedback into account. just not at the speed ppl want.

criticism makes for a better convo topic bc negative emotional response sticks in the brain longer. but were always gonna have bias if we dont appreciate good shit too. sometimes theres an attitude like "okay cool i like this, now wheres the NEXT thing" or "great finally an improvement, now why isnt THIS other thing fixed?". moving on to the next thing so quick you dont notice the effort of whats in front of you.

but once you match dvs pace & get what postion theyre coming from its not terrible. i have plenty of criticisms from a project management perspective. but in terms of other aspects ive a more lenient view considering what theyre likely working w (esp not having a dev or anyone who codes as part of core staff. im surprised theyve been able to keep afloat this long even lmao)

you dont hold an amateur experimental musician to the same standards as an international pop star w a whole team behind them, yea? but the amateur is not inherently worse, or less worthy of support. you can still enjoy both, just recognizing theyre different things. i see the vision of the amateur & choose to support patiently knowing its got a different pace than the pop idol. theyre at different spots in their career timeline & will have their own unique issues based on that. but both can be plenty good. context matters.

TLDR; there is much staff can do better at ofc (namely communication & interpretation of user feedback (like not knowing in the first place that "roadmap" usually implies dates -_-). but imo dates are not gonna fix shit bc lack of "motivation" is def not the core issue. such focus on the dates is thus unhelpful. i think some of yall dont get where dv is actually at & then put up expectations that are built to fail bc of that. not saying to let everything slide. but yk. appreciate the good where it happens. have patience. be aware what the underlying problems actually are & contextualize. tempering realistic expectations will make you much happier & able to enjoy the game for what it is.

or idk. i personaly used to be one of the main harsher critics so much i almost quit dv entirely & this perspective helped ME at least lmfao. now i play regularly much less stressed/angry abt it. ymmv.

things about my unnamed robot guy (pictured below) sorry its long. ive never used a read more link this is so exciting

-in the future where the us military is just starting to experiment with fully autonomous android soldiers. the first generation are deemed unfit for practical use for various reasons

-no particular protocol for disposing of them so once the second generation is under way the majority are scrapped or deconstructed for parts but some are kept around military compounds as free labor or whatever

-my guy came from a base in arizona where he was being used for menial tasks, the people at the base liked to fuck around with him because he would do whatever they wanted

-at some point this led to his tracking system being broken so when he finds his way out (details unclear) they arent able to find him and apparently deem it not worth pursuing further (do not care about the implications of this not my problem)

-he ends up in a little desert town thats slowly dying (like figuratively), and mostly everyone there who hasnt already left is content to die with it. some time ago it was a factory town but since then there hasnt really been any reason for anyone to move there so its just been slowly deteriorating for decades upon decades

-he arrives in the middle of the night and the only person still out and about is an 18 or 19 year old girl walking around smoking a cigarette who sees him and thinks hes the coolest thing ever because hes a cool robot and she kind of monologues to him about her situation and the state of the town as they walk around together

-basically she lives alone here with her cat and she hates that the town is the way it is and that nobody wants to do anything about it but she cant afford to leave so she just spends her time outside of work wandering around daydreaming or whatever

-he understands spoken and written english but he cant speak, and he doesnt have much of a personality at this point so he doesnt react much beyond vague gestures (plus he doesnt really know that much about the world so he doesnt totally get it anyway) she likes this about him since everyone else just pities her. she also says he reminds her of a cat but he doesnt know what a cat is, this comparison becomes important to him as a symbol of the first time someone treated him like a person

-she takes him back to her house and he lives there for like a year and a half. at first he only communicates through vague gestures but over time she teaches him asl which she knows because her mom was deaf. when shes not working she takes him around town with her and teaches him things (she likes to dress him up when she takes him out), people dont seem to mind since nothing interesting happens there so everyone just knows him as the robot that hangs out around town with that weird girl. at this point robots are uncommon in day to day life but they do exist, nobody in the town has ever seen one in person but theyve heard of them so its only shocking because nobody would have ever expected to see one in a town like this

-he takes a liking to cats and starts wearing clothes and doing things on his own, through his interactions with people he starts to develop more of a personality and even emotional responses to things

-for a while he questions whether or not his inner world is authentic and meaningful or if its just his ai mimicking traits of people hes met but in the end he decides it doesnt matter either way because its real and important to him (sitcom awe sound effect)

-at a certain point the girl starts acting sort of distant but he doesnt have the emotional intelligence to understand that anything is wrong, and one day she just disappears without a word. nobody else knew her and she didnt have any family so nobody cares to look for her (kind of a parallel i guess). he stays in the town waiting for her and taking care of the cat for half a year but the cat is already old and eventually it passes away. he had learned about the way humans honor their dead from the girl and he gives the cat a proper burial

-he wanders around the town for weeks not sure what to do, he sort of starts to revert back to how he was before he met the girl because without her to talk to or the cat to take care of he feels like hes lost his connection to the human world. people around town start to notice that hes different and over time they reach out and help him recover, he starts to reconnect with other people in town and he goes around helping them out with whatever tasks need to be done (this time of his own accord as like a parallel to what he did at the military compound)

-eventually he gets a place to stay and once enough time has passed he gets another cat and names it after the girl, not as like a replacement for her but as a way to honor his memory of her. i dont have anything planned after that i think it would be weird if the girl just came back. i was also trying to think about how to deal with his battery running out i feel like that could be used to touch on mortality but i didnt know how to incorporate it plus im literally making this up as i go. so sure maybe that would happen eventually

to be honest im a little embarrassed to be posting this ive never taken writing seriously at all and ive never really been into making “““ocs”““ beyond like fun character designs but ive been thinking about this all day and i thought maybe it would be fun to actually do it. i dont plan on making this into anything btw and also i still dont have a name for him or the girl or the cat or anything and ive only drawn him twice (or 3 times if you count the roblox mouse drawing or like 8 times if you count the doodles of his head from different angles at various levels of detail in my philosophy notebook)

oh and a special little detail for people who read the whole thing or who clicked the link and scrolled past it anyway: he has a rotor inside his chest that spins faster when hes happy and it makes him sound like hes purring :)

My dear english major anon, you're scribe anon now. English major anon is Too Long. You've been dubbed, you are loved now.

Sometimes? It depends on what kind of messenger bag you get and what you put in the bag. Most good quality bags have padding and are comfy, just imagine a regular backpack but only wearing one strap. If you put a bunch of stuff in it ofc its gonna get a little uncomfortable overtime, but you have two shoulders, just swap. I like bags with a bunch of pockets, the more pockets the better, so I don't use messenger bags anymore.

Any major is gonna require a lot of textbooks, thats just how college is, it sucks. Most times you dont even use the textbooks. Always, always, always, wait until your first class before buying any books. 9 times out of 10 the professors will let you know about cheap options, electronic or free options, or just won't use it. Most colleges require professors to put a textbook down and so they do it to keep their job and just never use it. For English? Uhhh, Its not much different than my general studies AA, there's not extensive textbooks but not a little either. I also get free textbooks so I don't really notice 🤷🏻‍♀️ (Im a full ride baby so... anything finance-wise in college I am the worst)

Most of the textbooks I've been required to buy are pretty cool ngl. Lots of interesting facts and anecdotes. There are some textbooks that are HARD READS but a good chunk of them are pretty easy reads cuz they're basically research papers.

3. I think any career after college is gonna require some kind of "networking". Whether its meeting new people and potential employers or putting your resume out there and getting experience in the field. As for English? It depends on what you're going for and what your career goals are. Networking is gonna look incredibly different between writers, publishers, and editors, not to mention teachers. Writers are going to have a much harder time because they NEED networking and a banger portfolio. Editors can be hired by a corporation and be given tasks, you just need a good resume and experience. Teachers probably have the easiest time getting a job so long as they have the corresponding degrees. Publishers do need some level of networking. But again, most careers do anyway, most english majors have built in internships and networking opportunities to get you started, they don't just throw you out into the world and say "good luck".

4. Lectures depend on the class and the professor just like any other major. Some professors don't even bother lecturing, they're go straight into assignments and do it with you or have "workshop" like classes. Some professors read straight off a slide and its MIND NUMBING. Other professors are super prepared and their powerpoints only have key words or phrases (Just means you cant miss class, personally my least favorite, boo me all you want). Other professors don't even bother having class because all their content is online. Can't really tell you much about lectures because lectures being boring, fun, hands-on, etc completely depends on the class and who you get to teach it. Ratemyprofessor is your friend.
