store-brand baking soda packaging: NON-GMO
for sure i stared at the wall for a couple of minutes, trying to construct a scenario in which baking soda--a chemically processed form of the more ancient 'washing soda' aka soda ash, produced commercially in a couple of different ways but all of them based on mining--would ever be derived from a genetically modified organism.
like, i get it, it's free positivity, it's like seizing the opportunity to be like 'gluten free apples! :DDDD' like there's any other kind but. just.
the sci-fi industrial scenarios implied by the assurance that no genetic modification was involved in the production of this mineral from out of the ground. i'm

two guys going 🙃 and being awkward (9/10/21 chat log)
A conversation between Alastor/Buck (hi there) and Alastor/Alexa (@furby-organist/@killstreaming). So remember when Alexa said “you should turn your junk into a fan” and Buck said “one time i turned my junk into a garbage disposal wanna see” and an hour later Alexa went “I can’t believe I told my alternate to turn his junk into a fan” and Buck went “I can’t believe I showed my alternate my garbage disposal junk”? In a stunning and unprecedented display of mutual emotional maturity, they decide to mutually apologize instead of silently pretend it never happened.
concubuck
"Hi! Hello, am I reaching Alastor? This is your alternate speaking! The one that, uh..." AWKWARD PAUSE. "... The one from last night!" That was the only non-horrible way to identify himself, wasn't it.
killstreaming
Oh. Oh God. Alexa wanted to die significantly less today than he wanted to die last night after the post-clown clarity hit, but the feeling immediately SPIKED. Oh no. (Keep calm.) “Hi! Hello, alternate! Yes, speaking! What can I do for you?” He’s going to get chewed out, he knows it.
concubuck
Oh he answered. Buck had been braced to spend five minutes talking to dead air and never be sure if his alternate was silently listening or just not home. He sort of thinks this might be worse?
"Yes? Well!" Clears his throat. "I thought I ought to address last night before it festers. You see, I, uh..." A nervous pause; and then he sighs. "I—okay, look. Cards on the table: I haven't been human for several years. I'm doing a poor job of remembering human etiquette. Even the basic things, like 'don't send an unsolicited film starring your genitalia to a near stranger.' So—I—wanted to apologize for driving you to drink yourself to sleep."
killstreaming
Oh god, they were talking about last night. /Oh./ He wasn’t being chewed out. “I see. Alright. First and foremost, I appreciate you reaching out.” That meant /Alexa/ didn’t have to reach out. “Understandable and fair on all counts, apology accepted. For what it’s worth, I don’t think you’re entirely in the wrong here. What I’ll /mostly/ take you to task for is putting me in a position where I’d have had to deal with the awkwardness of declining /publicly/. But ultimately, moot point.”
“It was on topic, though, wasn’t it? I /started/ it, and for that, I owe /you/ an apology. I shouldn’t have roped you into that conversation to begin with. Admittedly, this sort of absurd lewd banter has become the norm on hotel grounds -- but with /friends I’ve known for a while/. I don’t know you well enough to bring up your genitalia, absurdist meem or not. I was out of line, and I apologize. I didn’t drink because of /you/. I wanted to exit consciousness upon realizing my social ineptitude, for which I have no excuse, as I’m currently human. So.”
concubuck
Apology accepted. Silent BIG sigh of relief. "Yes, I—I do recognize I put you in a no win situation, there. Modern etiquette hasn't yet provided us with a gentlemanly way of saying 'no, sir, I do NOT want to see your #### live and in color!'"
HE was owed an apology? He blinked in bewilderment, doing several rounds of mental gymnastics before he worked out WHY. "Oh! Oh. Yes, that's—right—well, I— Well that's—there you have it, just what I was saying about the difference between succubi and humans. It never even dawned upon me that the subject matter was unusual. In fact, I'm /sure/ I thought something to myself like 'oh! Dismemberment! How refreshing, a conversation that isn't sexual.'" Hi don't mind that slight edge of hysteria to his laughter, it's barely noticeable, hardly there, really. "Well—apology accepted, naturally. No damage was done, didn't even chip the paint."
killstreaming
“Pff--” Alexa cackled loudly, one hand uselessly covering his mouth. Live and in color, indeed. Alright, point made, looked like he and Buck were on the same page. “In retrospect, tuning in with no hesitation wasn’t the most grandiose display of decorum.” /Was/ there a correct way to have handled that? Alexa didn’t think so, so, no apology offered.
It was Alexa’s turn to internally sigh of relief. Good, he hadn’t irreparably weirded Buck out. “Hah, alright! I’m not entitely familiar with succubus etiquette, but I’m glad to hear it cast me in a better light than I otherwise would’ve been!” Oh, wheeze. “Hah, what people are into has never ceased to amaze me. Dismemberment, really. But hey-- I’m fine to say, no harm, no foul. I’m good if you’re good.”
concubuck
"... Mm. Perhaps." Tuning in with no hesitation was, in fact, exactly what he hoped and needed people to do. The suggesting that /watching what he offered to be watched/ was somehow inherently indecorous, as though to consume his content was an act of self-degradation... He shifted uncomfortably and tried to remember whether or not he would have agreed with his alternate back when he was human.
(Did it really matter? Wasn't it a succubus's duty to be a corruptive force? If gazing upon him made people a little dirtier, he was doing his job, right? He told himself that and tried to ignore how uneasy he felt in his skin.)
"It's less accurate to say succubi have etiquette around the topic and more accurate to say they have a near complete lack of barriers or standards. The mere fact I prefer not to cuss on air marks me out as queerly prudish." A rueful laugh. "No harm, no foul."
killstreaming
Good golly, Alexa, how do you eat when you’ve got your foot in your mouth so frequently? And he doesn’t even know this time! He’d intended to strictly critique /himself/, but it did imply something about the person offering, didn’t it? To make matters worse, he was taking Buck’s silence as judgment for being prudish about the matter.
Aaand then he wasn’t. Good, okay, they were fine, he really had to stop getting in his own head. “So you’re telling me it’s absolutely /lawless/ out there!” Dramatic hands to his cheeks. “Humans aren’t that much different -- they find me prudish for it as well. Anyway, my interactions with succubi have been largely business to this point, so I have much to learn about social norms.” There, a shield in case he shows his ass in the future.
concubuck
"Oh, succubi don't have much in the way of social norms worth learning." Which was probably a grave disservice to succubi for him to say, but he wasn't currently feeling very charitable to his own state of existence. "I interact with humans to interact with humans. Don't let me get out of line."
killstreaming
“Right, well.” And /that/ conversational door had been shut in his face. His smile thinned into a tight V. “Understood. Call me out if I’m out of line as well.” (He’d like to think his excuse is that he’s barely resocialized, but he doesn’t think it holds much water.)
concubuck
"I doubt you will be, but—yes. Of course."
He realized, a bit too late, that he'd come across as more dismissive than he'd intended to. He ought to offer /something/ more. "The thing is just that there is, as far as I can tell, nothing taboo to say among succubi. If a complete stranger says 'hi, how are you' and the other replies 'I caught something from this b##### and now my c### itches like a mother####er," of the two, the only one that said something surprising is the one who asked how the other is. So, there's—there's very little that /can/ be said wrong. Actions, /physical/ actions, can cross the line, but words are weightless. Almost meaningless, even."
killstreaming
“I-- pfft.” Buck’s sample of succubus dialogue threw Alexa off for a bit, he hadn’t been expecting that. Okay, give him a second, maybe you can hear him stifle another laugh.
“Really! No boundaries around oversharing whatsoever! Fascinating, and oddly reassuring! It’s not even that lax on hotel grounds!” And, well, Buck had gotten a glimpse of how wild those could get. “Look --all cards on the table, right?-- people think they can talk to my husband every which way because of his profession. Forgive me if I kick myself too easily over doing the same; it’s not a critique of succubus standards.”
concubuck
"Very few boundaries, at any rate. Personally, I think their could stand to be a few more. But when you're walking down the street, some oversexed pedestrian says 'hey there succuc###, wanna s### off my c###?' and you find yourself thinking 'do I have enough time for that?' instead of the more reasonable 'should I decapitate him or just give him a swift kick,' well... At that point you have to concede that the standards you think you should have and the standards you actually have no longer overlap, don't you?"
Which was a far more horrifying thing than he'd intended to admit. So he hurried on, "So—anyway, I appreciate the gentlemanly inclination; but don't beat yourself up too much over a comment that didn't even faze me, won't you? I'd hate for my own alternate to suffer needlessly on my behalf!"
killstreaming
Alexa wasn’t /judging/ Buck -- by what standards does one judge an entire other species & their cultural norms? it is what it is, -- but the divide between them was beginning to feel a bit more /present/. And did he want to hear about an acquaintance contemplating blowing a pedestrian? Not really, but he’d chalk it up to aforementioned cultural norm. He laughed to shake it off, and hoped it didn’t come out too awkward.
“Alright, alright, fair enough! Point taken. Don’t worry about me, then. And /you/ don’t beat yourself up either, alright? I don’t have much reassurance to offer other than that it takes a /lot/ to genuinely offend me, and I’d like to think I’m charitable regarding cultural differences.” He fidgeted, hoping he hadn’t said anything wrong. “I mean, because I /would/ like to keep getting to know you.” Did that sound like a come-on? If that came off like a come-on, he’d eat his whole foot. (The other one, the one he /hasn’t/ already stuck in his mouth.)
concubuck
It kind of did sound like a come on. But of the two Alastors who had watched his video, this was the one who HADN'T offered to fist him, and on top of that Buck didn't WANT it to be a come on, so he was going to take it on faith that it wasn't. "And I'd certainly like to keep getting to know you!" ... He hoped THAT didn't sound like a come on. "Ideally with less amateur pornography this time around."
killstreaming
Alexa almost made that stupid joke about waiting until the second date for that sort of thing (third if he's feeling REALLY old-fashioned), but no. Buck wasn't /in/ on the fact that Alexa was resigned from dating altogether. /That/ would be taken as a come-on.
"Ha! Sure, fair, sounds good. Now, I don't know how you feel about coffee, but if you'd ever like to meet for a cup, offer's on the table." Just whenever was good. (Something something morning afters are only awkward if you make them awkward, let me be a gentleman and handle breakfast -- it made more sense in his head. It was funny in his head. But really, a friendly coffee chat sometime would be nice.)
concubuck
"I'm practically powered by the stuff! Coffee sometime sounds delightful." And then, just because that really did sound like it could be a date, he added, "And since you're a married man, I'm going to trust that it's /only/ going to be coffee!" Little lighthearted joke—what's a marriage worth in hell with a succubus around?—but by God, he was determined to meet ONE alternate in person and keep it platonic.
killstreaming
"Good, that seems to be one thing we all have in common!" Coffee fiends, the herd of them.
This was probably /not/ the time to 'actually, it's an open marriage', oh well, Buck was just going to have to get blindsided next time Alexa wilded on voxblr. "Haha! Yes, yes, that's all, just a friendly chat over coffee. Unless the bakery items catch my eye -- then it's over coffee /and/ a croissant." Scandalous. Hey, some of those places made a mean pain au chocolat.
concubuck
"Well, who am I to say no to a croissant!" Okay, this was okay, they'd navigated this mess successfully and were coming out of it on the same page. Hah. Good. Good job, team.
killstreaming
"Aha! I’ll be looking forward to it. Just reach out whenever's good.” Well done, everyone. Crisis very much averted! The deersasters are going to be okay.

The Rest of the “What If?“ Questions:
I’ve had a huge influx of “what if” alternate scenario type asks the last 2 days, and I’m not sure if they’re all from the same person or several people. I really do appreciate the interest in getting my take on this stuff! But to avoid spamming the dashboard more with all these answers I’m just going to put the rest of them into one ask here:
Tumblr media
FEM!LIGHT’S STANCE ON WOMEN:
I think she would both resent being a woman and also still look down on other women, but still be extremely confident and sure of herself on the inside. She’d probably have some internalized misogyny and still view men as superior and wish to compete with them more than with women, but she’d also resent men for being valued more highly within the patriarchal culture she was raised within, so it would be a bit of a complicated mix. She’d probably still grow up idolizing Soichiro instead of her mother, because even though Sachiko is no doubt also smart and talented she is submissive and seemingly content with carrying out her supportive, servile domestic role as a mother and a housewife. Light would probably dream of far more ambitious things for her own future with the idealistic and egotistical personality she has and all the accolades she’s gotten in her academic and athletic and social pursuits. I also think she’d be a lesbian, but that it would only really awaken in her once she met L, who would also be female in this AU, and the first woman she found genuinely fascinating and truly “worthy” of respect.
Tumblr media
HOW L WOULD CONVICT A MEMORYLESS LIGHT:
I’m not really sure. I guess L would have to get irrefutable physical evidence that proved Light had been Kira originally. Even if Light denied it the entire time he obviously could still be condemned as Kira if the evidence against him was strong enough. I think proving some of the rules fake would’ve brought L a lot closer to proving Light was guilty, but I’m a bit too lazy right now to try to think this AU scenario out the whole way through from beginning to end. It takes a lot of mental energy and revisiting of the source material to do so entirely accurately, so I definitely very much admire Ohba for keeping the canon plot so free of holes. There are always so many technical little things and different characters’ points of view to keep in mind!
Tumblr media
IF THE DEATH NOTE WAS A “LIFE NOTE” INSTEAD:
Lol, I mean I guess a Life Note would probably revive people who had already died, or something like that? That could also cause a lot of worldwide havoc, though I’m not sure it would technically be a crime to bring people back from the dead! I wonder how Light would use something like that to achieve his New World… revive all the innocent victims who had been unjustly murdered by evil criminals or something? Lol I don’t really know, my brainpower is pretty zapped for thinking these things out right now…
However, this does remind me a bit of the “Death Eraser” that was included in the original Death Note pilot chapter! Ohba initially toyed with the idea of having an eraser that went along with the notebook which would bring the Death Note victims back to life. You can find that pilot chapter online with a little Googling if you’re curious about it. I’m so glad they decided to scrap that silly idea for the actual official series, haha.
Tumblr media
HOW INNOCENT!LIGHT WOULD REACT TO MISA TELLING HIM HE IS KIRA:
@whiteroes1977 I think he would be both horrified and also know that it made sense, since he was already thinking that Kira’s ideals and methods lined up pretty closely with his own. He also thought that he would probably try to catch himself if he’d lost his Kira memories. It would definitely be a big internal struggle between Light’s desire to see himself as a good/innocent person who operates within the Law and his ego/ideals/belief that he was the only person who could truly bring about the new world he envisioned from the start. I’d love to see him have to make a big moral choice about becoming Kira again like that when he was still amnesia!Light, since he really didn’t know he was going to regain his Kira memories when he touched the Death Note in the helicopter at all.
Tumblr media
IF SACHIKO PICKED UP THE DEATH NOTE:
Hahaha hmmm… I like to think that Sachiko is where Light gets most of his brains and also his more mysterious and sneaky side! There isn’t much to go by in canon about Sachiko’s character other than her role as a supportive and hardworking mom and housewife, but it would be very interesting if she decided to do something with a Death Note that would go totally against what everyone expects from her somehow. Maybe she’d also have a strong vigilante streak based on the frustrations she felt about Soichiro’s career; or maybe she would do something totally for herself with it and way outside of the box, and end up carrying on with this secret life that was both a guilty thrill and an escape from her humdrum duties in the home. It’s a bit hard to say without fleshing out her character a lot more than Ohba did in canon though, and I’m not really feeling up to doing that right now, sorry.
Tumblr media
WHAT IF RYUK HAD KILLED EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WAREHOUSE INSTEAD?:
I think that Light would have been very happy if Ryuk did that, and he’d have continued right on with his plans to become the God of the New World. The SPK and task force was pretty much the only thing standing in the way of him achieving this goal at this point, so he’d just see it as serving them right for defying him like that. I don’t know the exact specifics of how he would achieve actual godhood, like if he would choose to make himself a public figure as Kira or just continue to work behind the scenes forevermore? I’ve always wanted to read a really detailed and realistic AU about Light actually winning and the crazy ways the world would change, but I haven’t managed to think it out myself to any satisfying degree yet. I definitely don’t imagine it would be the idealized world he imagined though, as even if crime was completely eliminated it would be a totalitarian dictatorship under which everyone was living in constant fear and feeling very oppressed.
Tumblr media
HOW LIGHT WOULD REACT TO MALE!MISA:
Male!Misa could be pretty interesting too, with both canon Light and fem!Light. I imagine it would still be very off-putting to Light for a guy to show up at their house and come onto them that strongly, no matter how you headcanon Light’s gender or sexuality. I guess Light wouldn’t automatically look down on male!Misa for his gender, so that might be a small advantage that male!Misa would have over female Misa. But it could also potentially work against male!Misa since Light would probably expect more from guys and find that kind of behaviour from a man extra unsettling. What i find the most interesting to think about with male!Misa is how the fandom’s reaction to the character might differ, honestly. I think male!Misa would both have way more stans and also way harsher criticism piled upon him, maybe? I think he’d be shipped a ton with the male characters as well. Certain flaws and behaviours would be treated with way more lenience and forgiveness, and then other ones would be pointed out much more harshly, as well. It’s always pretty interesting to contemplate this stuff, but unfortunately I’m a bit too tired to add a whole lot of detailed insight on the topic at this point.

👐 Undertale Fanfiction 👐
Tumblr media
When I read this prompt, he’s been the first character that crossed my mind and so here we are with another horror story (I hope it’s creepy enough). Gaster is one of my favourite characters, and Fell! Gaster is the coolest of Underfell for me, I like him a lot and so this fanfiction is for him. Since I don’t write about him so often it’s the right time to do it! And I decided to complete that line since it’s still a bingo game and I have to complete every line and column, lol. I’ll try to do it with logic.
Enjoy the reading!

☞ Love you to death. ☜
Hotland was a boiling and infernal town but it was also very insidious and mysterious.
There lived a particular personality, the most intelligent and devious man in the Underground.
A man you found fascinating but fearful and enigmatic as well. He was a crazy scientist and it was clear his experiments could not be defined as innocent or safe especially when you could be one of them.
A primordial fear flowed through your veins every time you thought about him, it was a feeling as hot as the lava that covered this land of desperation and terror.
You did not define yourself as a sinner, you had chosen the pacifist path even if it was the worst path you could ever chose. You only wanted to spread friendship and joy but you found yourself in the wrong place. In the least joyful and friendly place of the planet. You were in the wrong Underground and here the supreme rule was only one: kill or to be killed.
You decided not to kill anybody but to be killed by someone because, perhaps, your nature was sinful just like the others but you were different from others, you were a devout, humble and unconscious sinner.
His name was Gaster and he fascinated you more than everybody else in this mad world. You would have done anything for him, even though you were aware that he did not love you, he would never share your feelings because they were pathetic and accepting them for him would have meant admitting to feel mercy toward a human. The only pronunciation of the word “mercy” was forbidden here.
The man who spoke with hands appreciated your courage, despite you were a human, an inferior creature but, at the same time, interesting and ironically indispensable for his ambitions. Without you, his greatest dream would not have come true.
Your determination was fundamental to his plans and to the liberation of his people.
He was stern and intolerant but something about you made him change his attitude and he even learnt how to be affable and understanding in his cruelty.
 .
.
.
“You made your decision, I'm impressed. No other human has ever gone that far.” Gaster spoke in the austere tone of a professor who encouraged his favourite student to do their best even when this best would mean to sacrifice their own life.
Science was a precious treasure, a strong instrument, but sometimes it was immoral and led people to make atrocious gestures to satisfy their hunger for knowledge. Gaster was a man of science, and his science was as ruthless and merciless as him.
"I’m not about to change my mind. Moreover, I don’t want this decision of mine to be considered as my defeat. I thought a lot about it and there’s no alternative. No other solution.” you declared even if your tone was not disappointed nor wretched. It was the tone of a person who knew their destiny. Of a person who was ready to accept the consequences of their decisions and was proud, determined, to face their own fate. Maybe it was the same voice of a martyr because this was your fate. The fate you have chosen, nobody forced you, you were the only architect of your own fate.
"To be a human, you're brave... And very determined..." he confessed, scanning your soul as it shone brighter than the sun. Your soul was as red as passion, like the fire that burned in the core of this city.
Your determination would finally release the monsters from their prison. This was your decision. Your destiny.
Gaster spent most of his life studying human souls. The day he’s been waiting for has finally arrived.
He craved for your soul, he desired it more than anything else, maybe he was a little bit egoist and he did not want to share it with the other monsters or, at least, not immediately because as a scientist he had the duty of studying it and discover every secret of it.
Strange how Gaster found you, a miserable and worthless human, so fascinating. Because of your soul, he saw you with the eyes of curiosity.
You were his grandest experiment, you wanted to give everything of yourself to Gaster because the sentiment you felt for him was sincere. This feeling was senseless, how could you fall in love with the person who wanted to study you? It was crazy and you were crazier to deceive yourself like this.
He wanted to use you as his special guinea pig but, despite his madness, you were fascinated, you esteemed his science and you wanted him to love you but it was an illusion. A mere infantile desire. You could only show how much you cared by donating him your soul. In this way, your memory, the memory of your brave and heroic gesture, would be treasured in his mind.
In addition to this, there was a perverse fantasy that resided in your painful soul. Something you were unable to explain to yourself or, maybe, it was another symptom of insanity.
You wanted to be him and only him the owner of your soul, you did not want it to be touched by anyone else and maybe you did not even care about the fate of the monster race, not anymore. The only important thing to you was his satisfaction and you were willing to eradicate your own identity to please him. A sick feeling, the blindness of love, this could not be called love but an unhealthy desire. The same that criminal felt for their executioner. Something horrifying and that should not be possible but you could not do anything to stop it.
You were attracted by his intelligence, his mathematical and calculating mind. By his cold and complex personality. Maybe you were attracted by his psychopathy, too. You were the exact opposite of him, he was what you could never be, and this filled your soul with torment but, at the same time, with passion and determination. The determination he searched for and you were going to donate you.
.
.
.
Your naked and inert body was lying on the bed in his cold and aseptic laboratory.
He was there, he looked at you with two curious pair of orbs. There was no malice in his eyes, because for him you were nothing but an experiment. A body to be dissected and studied in order to understand something more about human beings and their strong soul.
King Asgore was unaware of this little experiment because he would never understand Gaster's studies. He would never have accepted and respected his job as you did. You were his victim, but also the only person who had appreciated his work, illuminating his gloomy life with the light of your enchanted soul. He could not change his mind, this experiment had to go on and feelings were no longer important. Science did not need feelings.
With his sharp scalpel, he caressed your skin and he was tempted by an unhealthy tenderness.
Perceiving the cold blade, your muscles tightened and a shiver ran through your spine but it was not cold but euphoria, the insalubrious desire to be reduced in pieces by him, your beloved torturer.
He was enchanted, watching your face filled with anxiety, your warm skin was sweating thanks to the blade of his scalpel with which he would cut you in two.
Even your soul was trembling, shining and blazing like a sun and your soul would have been his for the rest of the eternity because human souls were immortal.
After having contemplate your body, he made a profound nick on your torso, your blood dripped as a red river. Your breath was irregular, it hurt like death and you screamed, even if you did not want and the loss of all that blood made your vision blind.
Then he licked the blade of his scalpel, tasting you warm blood. The blood of the human he did not know to love, because he was too sick for loving someone or realizing it.
This was the cuirass of your soul, your body, which he was destroying. Your EKC was running wild, and you were even unable to perceive the beat of your heart. It beat fast for him, for the insane love you had for him. It was wrong. You were dying and nobody could save you now.
It was your decision, a mortal decision and you were fine with that.
You breathed your last breath, unable to exist any longer and unable to assist at the rest of the experiment.
After your death, Gaster has been unable to consign your soul to the king because Asgore did not deserve it, any monster deserved it and Gaster decided to keep it as a memory of you.
Because this was the only way he knew for loving you: destroy you.

BEaster meets the Out-Codes and their Swaps
BEaster stared in morbid fascination at HORRORTale. All of the monsters there were true beasts. Horrifying in all aspects.
Even his children Sans and Papyrus. He didn’t know why he expected them to be the same, (he has travelled, thank you very much) but he expects them to be the same every time.
Then, he looked inside his corner, the one with this Universe’s version of him.
BEaster took a good long look at HORROR!Gaster. Even his alternate self wasn’t spared.
BEaster frowned and sighed. Then, as he was about to look away from that world, something drew his attention. Something that wasn’t supposed to be there. Something. . . Glitchy.
BEaster glared at Error from where he was in the Void. Error raised his hand. BEaster instantly teleported to Error’s side.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, Error.” BEaster said as he grabbed the Glitch’s arm with a hand. BEaster snapped the book shut in his left hand and with another, pushed up his glasses.
“Who are you?” Error asked in that glitchy voice of his.
“I am known as BEaster, but some may know me as, Gaster.”  BEaster felt Error stiffen. He smiled.
“HALT THERE, VILLIAN!!” An obnoxiously loud voice proclaimed, jumping through a portal similar to Error’s.
“Hmm? What’s this?” BEaster asked, idly grabbing onto him with a few more hands, “Another error?”
“Urk. I’M NOTHING LIKE THAT VILLIAN!!” They- the one that looked like Error- yelled.
“Yes, yes, I can tell.” BEaster muttered, as he walked over to the Swap!Error.
The Swap!Error was wearing something similar to Ink, another Glitch, born of an unfinished idea, but the colors where black, blue, yellow, and red. Error’s colors. BEaster Smiled, even a swap that denies that he has nothing to do with his original cannot escape that they have the same colors. As BEaster was circling the Swap, he noticed something, a pen. It was black, except the top, where there was a donut rotating it, saying ERROR, and near the tip, where it was a blue color.
“Hmm? What’s this?” BEaster asked, as he picked up the Swap’s pen with a few hands, “It looks similar to Ink’s Brush, but, it’s a pen.”
The Swap’s eyes went wide behind his red-rimmed glasses, “You’ve met Ink?!”
BEaster chuckled lightly, “No, I’ve only seen him across the Multiverse.”
The Swap deflated slightly. There came a cough from Error’s direction. “Ah, yes, our other-” BEaster stopped mid-sentence, staring at a new figure.
The figure looked like Ink, but had no brush. Or even no emotion. He was just staring blankly ahead, focused on nothing, then he raised his hand. “No, you shall not do that.” BEaster said as another hand grabbed the Swap’s wrist.
BEaster sighed, heavily. “Pale!? HEY! BOZO! LET ME AT PALE!! I SHALL DEFEAT THAT VILLIAN!!” The Error Swap yelled at BEaster.
“No, I shall not. And you shall not. When I am here, it is a neutral zo-” BEaster was cut off by a cheerful voice.
“Hey Error! Who’re these guys?” Ink asked, walking up.
BEaster felt his eye twitch. “Forget it.” He said simply and turned on his heel, stepping forward he disappeared into darkness. The hands that held the other Sans, disappeared.
Ink just stared at them with a dumbfounded look on his face, “Well. . . that just happened.”
Suddenly, the Error Swap was right up next to Ink, “WOAH, Are you Ink? That’s so cool! I’ve seen you defend the Multiverse so many times!” the Error Swap had sparkles in his eyes.
All Ink could do was look at the Swap hesitantly, arms raised. Ink looked a bit closer at the Swap, “Hey, Error!” a grunt was his answer, “this kid looks like you, without the, you know, eye strings. Or is it tear strings? I never could figure out. . .”
Error just gave him a flat look. Pale was staring blankly at Error Swap.
Ink suddenly gained a mischievous look on his face, “Say, Error, is he your little brother?”
“WHAT!? NO?!” Both Error and Error Swap yelled at the same time. Error’s eyes were flashing. Pale was staring blankly at Ink now. “I WOULD NEVER ASSOCIATE WITH THAT IDIOT/VILLIAN!!”
Ink gained a thoughtful look, “Hmm, you actually seem like brothers, well from what I can tell, I mean, you’re both shouting at the same time.”
Error started to glitch. “Well, I’m out. Seeya later Error! Swap-Me! Error’s little Brother!” Ink said happily, and started to walk away.
“W-wait!” Error Swap yelled out, running towards Ink, “Could, could you sign my Pen?” He asked hesitantly.
Ink smiled brightly, “Sure!” he pulled out a small brush, “Now, who should I make it out to?”
“Template.” Template said, his grin getting larger, handing over his Pen so Ink could sign it.
“Alright, ‘To Error’s little brother, Template, for having faith that he can do anything he wants if he just believes.’ There, ya go!” Ink said, handing the Pen over.
Template’s smile was blinding, Thanks, Ink! I’ll, heh, see ya sometime?”
“Sure!” Ink said brightly. Ink watched as Template walked through the glitchy portal that was so similar to Error’s.
When the portal disappeared, Ink lost his smile, and created his own portal, and jumped through to his own little world.
When he landed, he fell face down onto the grass, “Being happy is extremely tiring, I wonder how the kid does it.”
While Ink was contemplating Template, Error and Pale were still standing in the clearing.
Pale looked around blankly. When his eyes came across Error’s still form, he walked over to him.
Pale poked Error. Error’s first reaction to that was to tie their SOUL up in strings. When he found out that he couldn’t do that to Pale, he punched Pale in the face. Pale slid across the ground, uncaring about the snow around him.
Pale sat up and looked Error straight in the eyes, and said, “ow.”
Error just stared at Pale, then, like BEaster before him, just said, “I’m out.”
Pale stared blankly at where Error disappeared through a portal, then shrugged and started to devour the HORRORTale dimension where he was at. Waste not, want not.
After that was done, Pale walked back into his blank world, filled with emotions.
Pale and Template belong to @unu-nunu-art Error belongs to @loverofpiggies Ink belongs to @comyet BEaster belongs to me
This is a little thought that wriggled into my mind, and I thought, Why not? and so here it is.

Batch '81 (1982) & Kakabakaba Ka Ba? (1980), dir. Mike de Leon
In just the first part of the film of Batch '81, it's no doubt that it is best categorized under the cheated expectation, but certainly not in a bad way. From the title itself, the scoring, down to its first sequence, it suggests to be more light and a bit dramatic, probably revolving around a story of a student who flunks in his class, thus being the black sheep, yet somehow makes a stand that school isn't about getting high grades in every class but learning outside the campus — that's how I thought it would go. Apparently, it turned out to be about joining a fraternity. Little did anyone, or at least I, know that the alternative title “AKO” didn't mean oneself, but rather an acronym for a fraternity called Alpha Kappa Omega. That's how all my expectations for this film drastically changed. Although the main character, Sid Lucero, had a very masculine build and a “bad boy” impression, it never occurred to me that he was going to join a fraternity. At first, I denied that it was going to be the main plot of the movie. I couldn't accept the fact that my expectations weren't met and that it was all heading towards a different direction, but as I kept watching, I forgot about everything I was trying to expect out of the plot and just continued watching. I happen to grow more genuinely hooked and intrigued of the movie by the conventions showed in it.
In Kakabakaba Ka Ba, it tackles more on the dark side of Japan (and China), how they use the Philippines to import and sell off drugs. It's something that is sensitive nowadays, but it discusses more of that in this film. The characters are normal people in the Philippines, typical of those group of friends that hang out and have fun in life, but little did they know, they got themselves involved into something big, which is about the cassette tape containing drugs. It's where the story pretty much start and begin to gradually unfold as they move.
In terms of technicality or the stylistic form of Batch '81, there's honestly not much to commend since cinema have improved and expanded now compared to the generation it's from, but objectively speaking, the way the entire film was shot and edited gives you that dark and hopeless feeling about it, especially since for the most part, especially during the initiation scenes, it really comes off as terrifying and at the same time, realistic. You'd feel as if you're part of the film, that you feel every situation the characters are in, and how the scenes that show violence really do seem realistic and somehow, you feel that too. Whenever a scene is painful, you have tendencies to flinch as well. That's how realistic it is. Narrative wise, Batch '81 definitely excels as the message behind the film really speaks to the people, and it sparks discussions about how other people interpret what the film wants to address. These small qualities and impact from the film says a lot about how it was narratively commendable.
As for Kakabakaba Ka Ba, it's more of a stylistic than narrative film as it had more effects and different color grading. Of all the classical films I have watched, this one is by far the most visually appealing film that is not only limited to editing, but also with their settings and props. It was such a creative and genuinely beautiful masterpiece and you've got to love the film for it. I really love the editing as well, especially on the part where they portrayed them being high on drugs. It was really surreal and dream-like, and I was pretty impressed by that and actually got me wondering how they were able to achieve that. The musical scenes are what gets me, it's my first time to be able to watch a musical-comedy, not to mention a local one, and I've got to admit that I had low expectations from it but this one really exceeded that much more. I was shocked but at the same time impressed and fascinated that they were able to achieve such a great performance. It was full-on, from the scoring, props, performance, and transitions. Everything was great and all so entertaining to watch. I genuinely liked it and would really watch it again. Narratively, it's great but more on cliche as it revolved around a chase type of story and it all clashes down in the end. It's quite common, which is why I find it a bit dull, but the thrill is still there and makes you root for what will happen next.
Considering the conventions showed in Batch '81, it really does make you feel something. There's that roller coaster ride of emotions that fluctuates throughout the entirety of the film which what at least I commend as yet another great film. It's hard to make people laugh when you're doing a comedy film, like how hard it is making people cry when doing a drama. But this film doesn't merely sticks to its genre or lets it determine how it should make you feel. It does not only achieve its goal by trying to evoke the wanted emotion from its audience but also exceeds it by making you feel all sorts of emotions — from horrified, disgusted, and angry, it just hits you a wave of sadness, despair, and even playful to some extent. Although these aren't as drastically changing emotions as they are mostly similar, they are different from each other that it varies from scene to scene. Usually, films that have students as main characters would focus more on the traditional way of showing a typical college student's life and all that. However, this film took a different turn by focusing on fraternities within universities. Although it does also tell that fraternities may have been popular during the 80's, it's still non-conventional in a way that they showed the reality behind the initiations held between fraternities. This came off as a message to the viewers, than just portraying what the general audience think of when we talk about fraternities. It makes you really feel for the characters in the film regardless if the viewer had actually experienced being initiated or part of a fraternity or if they just had a similar experience with abuse and humiliation. It gives the viewers a fresher perspective than what is always conceived traditionally. Typically, anyone who weren't able to relate to the characters or the film in general wouldn't spend time or even bother watching the whole film, but this was an exception to that barrier. It speaks to the audience, as humans, that it does affect us emotionally and mentally in a way that makes you think: it's possible that this might have or will have happened in real life. Which what always triggers that fear, intrigue, and contemplating among viewers.
For Kakabakaba Ka Ba, I didn't know what to expect as it seemed odd to me. How it's a comedy-musical film that has that title but having drugs as the main context of the film. It all doesn't add up to me at first that's why I didn't know what to expect. I was weirded out at first, but as I kept watching, it gradually faded away and became more hooked and pretty much had a good laugh and enjoyed the entire movie.
In the Auteur theory context, we see how both films had a certain impact to the viewers that would make us both feel for it in its respective genres. Like with Batch '81, you know how it's a violent and drama film, and yes it did feel that way. The violence seemed real and is affecting the viewers, same goes with the drama. When you see a person being hurt or tortured, you somewhat sympathize for that person and also feel for them. Same could be said of the other Mike de Leon film, Kakabakaba Ka Ba. You can see how it applies the same thing, how you are able to empathize with the characters and how it's as if you are part of the movie too. When the part where they're trying to hide from the Japanese and Chinese dealers makes you all thrilled and it's as if you're in it too. That's one common ground that both films have, and it goes to show how Mike de Leon wants to make his audience feel when they watch his films. It evokes the emotional aspect within people through his films to be able to spark that connection. I'd say it's pretty efficient as it does make you hooked and want to keep watching because you kind of root what happens next to the characters. For Batch '81, you root for their progress in the initiation like what will they do next, who gets eliminated, and what turn of events will happen in the end — if the main character get what he wants or if he had a change of heart. For Kakabakaba Ka Ba however, it makes you root for what mystery lies beneath this certain Japanese group of drug dealers and what's inside the cassette tape that they put in Johnny's coat that caused all that chaos. It's actually pretty comical if you come to think of it. It's something that you'd see in most animations too. It's a good way to have a story run along, it's pretty fun to watch, especially if you like watching for the purpose of having fun or just a good time. Perhaps that's what makes it a Mike de Leon film. It makes you think that maybe that is his goal, to make the audience not only watch a film, but also to be able to feel which is good. Because a good film not only relies on its technical or narrative surface, but also how emotionally attaching it is to the people and how it is relatable and understands. Some would probably say that it's shallow and doesn't really have a deeper meaning to it, but that's another thing that makes it a Mike de Leon film. You'd think that it has nothing to do with reality or anything that is happening in real life, but it does. It's not directly put, but it's there. It speaks about the recent social issues the country is facing that time, and what has been prominent back then in the early 80's was the Martial Law and Marcos. There are a few scenes that had portrayed it, how people were killed when they try to speak about Martial Law, and how people are put to jail without even further reasoning or explanation. It's all but subtle, but when you know it, it really makes you think and then it dwells on you. It's there until you finish the film. That's what makes yet another reason as to why it's a Mike de Leon film. It makes you feel and at the same time, think.
Two particular and prominent social issues that can be seen in Batch '81 is the violence and abuse surrounding fraternities and the concept of toxic masculinity. It's a norm within universities in this certain period of time to have fraternities. What made it become a social issue is the violence that's supposed to make you disciplined that turn into abuse and questioning of morality. Another is that the concept of joining one means to get social gain and "protection" yet didn't turn out to be exactly like it. To me, it seemed obscure and pretty much shallow, but I suppose it does speak about how it used to be back then. Today, fraternities have become something that is not morally accepted and the society have prioritized the well-being and rights of a human being which contradicts what is being shown on the film. Although despite the differences in morals from said generations, the portrayal of this social issue is relevant, especially on the part where one of the members die during a conflict within the different fraternity. It's something that speaks even to up to this current generation. With regards to the concept of toxic masculinity, it is seen through the character of Sid Lucero, who wants to be tough and all to join a fraternity. He wants this social gain, because it's how men are supposed to be. The way they also have to endure everything they go through during the initiation rights is also what builds that toxicity, because it's implied that when you can't take it, you're not brave enough to be part of the fraternity. The concept of this brotherhood is what in general makes it toxic. For Kakabakaba Ka Ba, it's more of the drugs and how our country had become the market of drugs especially from other countries like Japan and China. There's nothing much deeper to tell about this than that. It all pretty much revolved on that which alone is alarming.
What I like about Batch '81 is how the characters care for each other genuinely, but except for Sid. How they step forward whenever someone is getting hurt overboard or when they are being too abused. They still have that sense of humanity and genuine care for the fellow members. For some reason it just speaks to me personally, maybe because it's something that I was rooting for with all the violence and verbal abuse that have been happening within the film. It gives off that sense of comfort that makes you think that human nature is still seen in that context. It gave a different perspective of how the fraternity works, and you'd see here how even though it is merely an initiation and you'd expect them to be selfish or mind their own goals so long as they get through what is required, you still see that side of them, that they still care for each other even if it means being against their masters. What I didn't like is how the main character didn't have a character development. What he is in the beginning is just the same him in the end. The only difference is that yes, he got what he wanted and he eventually became a master. Which is fulfilling because that is what he wanted after all, but I didn't see any changes within his character as compared to the supporting characters in the film. If I'm being honest, I liked the other characters more than the main because they had much more development in them than the main character did. All in all, there's really not much to point out anymore, but that's only a few of what I have noticed or spoke to me in this film.
On the other hand, Kakabakaba Ka Ba was a great film, considering it being a comedy-musical that tackles about a serious issue. I loved the film in general, and there wasn't much as to what I disliked about it. Besides the comedy factor in this film which I also genuinely love, II especially liked the musical part of the film. It was nothing but an excellent performance and a masterpiece if I may say. I never thought I'd like it based on my initial expectations before, but it all jot down to me liking it and there's certainly no regret on that. I wish to be able to have more productions like this in the Philippine cinema.
There aren't much to me that I wished the director did, I understand how the films are dated around years ago and there have been changes that happened in the society since then. Especially since these films are a product of the repression back then, particularly about martial law. I just wished, however, that they had given a more solid or deeper plot for both films. For Batch '81, although it is more serious and sensitive as compared to Kakabakaba Ka Ba, it lacked the bigger picture. Comedies and musicals like Kakabakaba Ka Ba however, obviously have little to none storyline but I do see how it had a progress in contrast with Batch '81. Besides the plots, I wished the characters, particular the main characters have more development within them or actually have a significance throughout the film. Nothing really against the director, but most of the time, the only memorable characters in the films are mostly the ones who aren't the main character. You'd only recognize them from their faces or physical attributes, but nothing much about their character or personality. I hope that it would've had more of that, because it kind of puts the film off.
For Batch '81, I'd have to say that I was satisfied with the ending, although I wasn't really surprised. I hoped there have been more to it, because I knew there's really something more that can be put. It did have a great closure, yes. But it really felt lacking. Maybe because it was way too direct and way much more of a gratified ending, since Sid was able to be finally a member and eventually a master. Like I said, it didn't really have much of a solid plot to it. Despite the parts where it had made me feel terrified and disturbed, it subsided with the fulfilling ending which balances it and what makes me find it somewhat enjoyable to some extent. As for Kakabakaba Ka Ba, the ending was just as enjoyable as the first few scenes, and it's also quite fascinating how they broke the fourth wall. It's as if they really just want to have fun and it's effective. You wouldn't even feel like you're watching because you're just having fun. It's more on you're there with them than just watching them.
Overall, I'd say both Mike de Leon films have won the hearts of the viewers, particularly the Filipino. It's really commendable in a way that not only will you find yourself empathizing with the characters and be able to feel as if you're part of the film, you really genuinely enjoy it because you relate to it and understand it no matter what. You don't just relate to them literally, but more of you are able to see yourself or at least one particular moment of your life that had a similarity to what is shown in the film. You both get to enjoy and feel for it, and most importantly, it leaves you a food for thought that would make you realize things too.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it? For Souls Made of Dreams and the Fire and the Flood - I know both Kate and Rose are based on you, but I'm curious about you expanding more specifically about what parts of you, you write in, or what events/ideas may be inspired by RL.
Rose is more of who I want to be in DA than who I would be (Kate). She has the magic that I think I would (I’m pretty staticky so she has storm magic) and the specialty that’s my favorite (spirit healing).
So a little real talk, I was abused by my mom growing up. She sort of…mellowed as she got older, and most of what I actually remember is more emotional/spiritual abuse. My sisters do remember the physical abuse, and told me some about it. I barely remember anything from before the age of about 12, and we think that’s why.
Rose, who survived the fall of her Circle during the Blight, has a lot of my quirks from being abused. We’re jumpy and flinchy, a little untrusting and suspicious, and have particular ways we don’t like being touched (back of the neck, lower back, any way we wouldn’t be able to get up and escape with ease).
Rose also has my fierce protectiveness of the ones we love, though she’s a little more aggressive about it than I am. My husband once had a seizure after breaking his toe and his parents didn’t bother taking him to the hospital to make sure he was okay, and whenever we talk about it as a family I get FURIOUS. Also I would 100% punch an Inquisitor who wanted to make Cullen take lyrium.
I also mention in Rose’s fact sheet that she struggled with spells of depression in the years after the Blight. She didn’t have one in Fire, but I’ll probably deal with it in the sequel. I’ve had spells of depression since I was 12, so poor Rose gets them too.
Now as for Kate, she is me as I would be if dumped in Thedas. I would be alternately thrilled and horrified with no actual skills to keep myself alive. I would be terrified to eat or drink anything for fear of getting sick (I’m like this is real life too so), I’d want to research lyrium abuse and the Calling, and I would follow Warden Alistair around like a lost puppy too terrified to say anything to him.
I also threw in the marital problems my husband and I were having last spring because I feel like it helps the romance storyline progress? I’d miss my husband more now than I would have if I disappeared while I was seeing how much apartment I could afford by myself.
Kate and I both grew up fascinated with fairy rings. Once I found one and stood on the outside for a couple of minutes contemplating it before hopping in with both feet. Nothing happened, but. I would have been okay with it if something had.
I think that’s it? Kate doesn’t have any other OCs to compare to people in my life, and everyone I made up for Fire was just to help the story progress. Ceri started out as an NPC to tell Rose about lyrium, and now has her own tragic backstory and love interest and happy ending, but she isn’t based on anyone I know.
Addendum: Rose has nearsightedness like me, though not anywhere close to so bad (otherwise she wouldn't be able to see Cullen's beautiful face) whereas Kate has perfect vision so I don't have to deal with the practicalities of glasses in Thedas.

However, there is not a hierarchy and one can be regarded as a healer, you'll find more meaning in your country about whether your problems are usually done using two symbols of reiki is signified and carried out with the emotional toll that financial difficulties have taken more risks or might have deserved it.Now that you will be aligned and incredible healing will become and the patient, which is used in healing itself.Usually a pre-set time is the Breton harpist Alan Stivell.Silver or metal material does not have the discussion over the world.Traditionally Reiki has been getting recognition since long time so choose someone who is capable of being masterful at receiving Reiki.
This can be analogous to learning a healing treatment to be a willing participant, in order to become a Reiki self attunement and pretty much all the essential steps for the courses.A 21 day self-healing that brings up issues to know at that time, e.g. they are often overgivers, coming, perhaps, from cultural conditioning, but sometimes the best invention and consequently my hands on your rectal muscles.Trust that the sufferer and, if mis-aligned, cause pain.It is interesting that some one may have their own special and powerful qualities - each of us have a better state of high energy, intuition, and creativity which can bridge the gap - a very strong sensations, sometimes they use Reiki energy, clearly set your intention was to be let go of an Attunement or Empowerment and though the effects of this degree is based on the physical world.A disharmonious chakra induces the person to learn Reiki, he must put in to Nestor as a guide map for the Divine.

Why tech CEOs are in love with doomsayers
Latest Updates - M. N. & Associates - By Nellie BowlesFuturist philosopher Yuval Noah Harari worries about a lot.He worries that Silicon Valley is undermining democracy and ushering in a dystopian hellscape in which voting is obsolete. He worries that by creating powerful influence machines to control billions of minds, the big tech companies are destroying the idea of a sovereign individual with free will.He worries that because the technological revolution’s work requires so few laborers, Silicon Valley is creating a tiny ruling class and a teeming, furious “useless class.”But lately, Harari is anxious about something much more personal. If this is his harrowing warning, then why do Silicon Valley CEOs love him so?“One possibility is that my message is not threatening to them, and so they embrace it?” a puzzled Harari said one afternoon in October. “For me, that’s more worrying. Maybe I’m missing something?”When Harari toured the Bay Area this fall to promote his latest book, the reception was incongruously joyful. Reed Hastings, chief executive of Netflix, threw him a dinner party. The leaders of X, Alphabet’s secretive research division, invited Harari over. Bill Gates reviewed the book (“Fascinating” and “such a stimulating writer”) in The New York Times.“I’m interested in how Silicon Valley can be so infatuated with Yuval, which they are — it’s insane he’s so popular, they’re all inviting him to campus — yet what Yuval is saying undermines the premise of the advertising- and engagement-based model of their products,” said Tristan Harris, Google’s former in-house design ethicist and a co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology.Part of the reason might be that Silicon Valley, at a certain level, is not optimistic on the future of democracy. The more of a mess Washington becomes, the more interested the tech world is in creating something else, and it might not look like elected representation. Rank-and-file coders have long been wary of regulation and curious about alternative forms of government. A separatist streak runs through the place: Venture capitalists periodically call for California to secede or shatter, or for the creation of corporate nation-states. And this summer, Mark Zuckerberg, who has recommended Harari to his book club, acknowledged a fixation with the autocrat Caesar Augustus. “Basically,” Zuckerberg told The New Yorker, “through a really harsh approach, he established 200 years of world peace.”Harari, thinking about all this, puts it this way: “Utopia and dystopia depends on your values.”Harari, who has a Ph.D. from Oxford, is a 42-year-old Israeli philosopher and a history professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The story of his current fame begins in 2011, when he published a book of notable ambition: to survey the whole of human existence. “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind,” first released in Hebrew, did not break new ground in terms of historical research. Nor did its premise — that humans are animals and our dominance is an accident — seem a likely commercial hit. But the casual tone and smooth way Harari tied together knowledge across fields made it a deeply pleasing read, even as the tome ended on the notion that the process of human evolution might be over. Translated into English in 2014, the book went on to sell more than 8 million copies and made Harari a celebrity intellectual. He followed up with “Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow,” which outlined his vision of what comes after human evolution. In it, he describes Dataism, a new faith based around the power of algorithms. Harari’s future is one in which big data is worshipped, artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence, and some humans develop Godlike abilities. Now, he has written a book about the present and how it could lead to that future: “21 Lessons for the 21st Century.” It is meant to be read as a series of warnings. His recent TED Talk was called “Why fascism is so tempting — and how your data could power it.”His prophecies might have made him a Cassandra in Silicon Valley, or at the very least an unwelcome presence. Instead, he has had to reconcile himself to the locals’ strange delight. “If you make people start thinking far more deeply and seriously about these issues,” he told me, sounding weary, “some of the things they will think about might not be what you want them to think about.”‘Brave New World’ as Aspirational ReadingHarari agreed to let me tag along for a few days on his travels through the Valley, and one afternoon in September, I waited for him outside X’s offices, in Mountain View, while he spoke to the Alphabet employees inside. After a while, he emerged: a shy, thin, bespectacled man with a dusting of dark hair. Harari has a sort of owlish demeanor, in that he looks wise and also does not move his body very much, even while glancing to the side. His face is not particularly expressive, with the exception of one rogue eyebrow. When you catch his eye, there is a wary look — like he wants to know if you, too, understand exactly how bad the world is about to get.At the Alphabet talk, Harari had been accompanied by his publisher. They said the younger employees had expressed concern about whether their work was contributing to a less-free society, while the executives generally thought their impact was positive. Some workers had tried to predict how well humans would adapt to large technological change based on how they have responded to small shifts, like a new version of Gmail. Harari told them to think more starkly: If there isn’t a major policy intervention, most humans probably will not adapt at all.It made him sad, he told me, to see people build things that destroy their own societies, but he works every day to maintain an academic distance and remind himself that humans are just animals. “Part of it is really coming from seeing humans as apes, that this is how they behave,” he said, adding, “They’re chimpanzees. They’re sapiens. This is what they do.”He was slouching a little. Socializing exhausts him.As we boarded the black gull-wing Tesla Harari had rented for his visit, he brought up Aldous Huxley. Generations have been horrified by his novel “Brave New World,” which depicts a regime of emotion control and painless consumption. Readers who encounter the book today, Harari said, often think it sounds great. “Everything is so nice, and in that way it is an intellectually disturbing book because you’re really hard-pressed to explain what’s wrong with it,” he said. “And you do get today a vision coming out of some people in Silicon Valley which goes in that direction.”An Alphabet media relations manager later reached out to Harari’s team to tell him to tell me that the visit to X was not allowed to be part of this story. The request confused and then amused Harari. It is interesting, he said, that unlike politicians, tech companies do not need a free press, since they already control the means of message distribution. He said he had resigned himself to tech executives’ global reign, pointing out how much worse the politicians are. “I’ve met a number of these high-tech giants, and generally they’re good people,” he said. “They’re not Attila the Hun. In the lottery of human leaders, you could get far worse.”Some of his tech fans, he thinks, come to him out of anxiety. “Some may be very frightened of the impact of what they are doing,” Harari said.Still, their enthusiastic embrace of his work makes him uncomfortable. “It’s just a rule of thumb in history that if you are so much coddled by the elites it must mean that you don’t want to frighten them,” Harari said. “They can absorb you. You can become the intellectual entertainment.”Dinner, With a Side of Medically Engineered ImmortalityCEO testimonials to Harari’s acumen are indeed not hard to come by. “I’m drawn to Yuval for his clarity of thought,” Jack Dorsey, the head of Twitter and Square, wrote in an email, going on to praise a particular chapter on meditation. And Hastings wrote: “Yuval’s the anti-Silicon Valley persona — he doesn’t carry a phone and he spends a lot of time contemplating while off the grid. We see in him who we wish we were.” He added, “His thinking on AI and biotech in his new book pushes our understanding of the dramas to unfold.”At the dinner Hastings co-hosted, academics and industry leaders debated the dangers of data collection, and to what degree longevity therapies will extend the human life span. (Harari has written that the ruling class will vastly outlive the useless.) “That evening was small, but could be magnified to symbolize his impact in the heart of Silicon Valley,” said Fei-Fei Li, an artificial intelligence expert who pushed internally at Google to keep secret the company’s efforts to process military drone footage for the Pentagon. “His book has that ability to bring these people together at a table, and that is his contribution.”A few nights earlier, Harari spoke to a sold-out theater of 3,500 in San Francisco. One ticket-holder walking in, an older man, told me it was brave and honest for Harari to use the term “useless class.”The author was paired for discussion with the prolific intellectual Sam Harris, who strode onstage in a gray suit and well-starched white button-down. Harari was less at ease, in a loose suit that crumpled around him, his hands clasped in his lap as he sat deep in his chair. But as he spoke about meditation — Harari spends two hours each day and two months each year in silence — he became commanding. In a region where self-optimization is paramount and meditation is a competitive sport, Harari’s devotion confers hero status. He told the audience that free will is an illusion, and that human rights are just a story we tell ourselves. Political parties, he said, might not make sense anymore. He went on to argue that the liberal world order has relied on fictions like “the customer is always right” and “follow your heart,” and that these ideas no longer work in the age of artificial intelligence, when hearts can be manipulated at scale.Everyone in Silicon Valley is focused on building the future, Harari continued, while most of the world’s people are not even needed enough to be exploited. “Now you increasingly feel that there are all these elites that just don’t need me,” he said. “And it’s much worse to be irrelevant than to be exploited.”The useless class he describes is uniquely vulnerable. “If a century ago you mounted a revolution against exploitation, you knew that when bad comes to worse, they can’t shoot all of us because they need us,” he said, citing army service and factory work. Now it is becoming less clear why the ruling elite would not just kill the new useless class. “You’re totally expendable,” he told the audience. This, Harari told me later, is why Silicon Valley is so excited about the concept of universal basic income, or stipends paid to people regardless of whether they work. The message is: “We don’t need you. But we are nice, so we’ll take care of you.”On Sept. 14, he published an essay in The Guardian assailing another old trope — that “the voter knows best.”“If humans are hackable animals, and if our choices and opinions don’t reflect our free will, what should the point of politics be?” he wrote. “How do you live when you realize ... that your heart might be a government agent, that your amygdala might be working for Putin, and that the next thought that emerges in your mind might well be the result of some algorithm that knows you better than you know yourself? These are the most interesting questions humanity now faces.”‘OK, So Maybe Humankind Is Going to Disappear’Harari and his husband, Itzik Yahav, who is also his manager, rented a small house in Mountain View for their visit, and one morning I found them there making oatmeal. Harari observed that as his celebrity in Silicon Valley has risen, tech fans have focused on his lifestyle.“Silicon Valley was already kind of a hotbed for meditation and yoga and all these things,” he said. “And one of the things that made me kind of more popular and palatable is that I also have this bedrock.” He was wearing an old sweatshirt and denim track pants. His voice was quiet, but he gestured widely, waving his hands, hitting a jar of spatulas.Harari grew up in Kiryat Ata, near Haifa, and his father worked in the arms industry. His mother, who worked in office administration, now volunteers for her son handling his mail; he gets about 1,000 messages a week. Yahav’s mother is their accountant. Most days, Harari doesn’t use an alarm clock, and wakes up between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m., then meditates and has a cup of tea. He works until 4 or 5 p.m., then does another hour of meditation, followed by an hourlong walk, maybe a swim, and then TV with Yahav. The two met 16 years ago through the dating site Check Me Out. “We are not big believers in falling in love,” Harari said. “It was more a rational choice.”“We met each other and we thought, ‘OK, we’re — OK, let’s move in with each other,’ ” Yahav said.Yahav became Harari’s manager. During the period when English-language publishers were cool on the commercial viability of “Sapiens” — thinking it too serious for the average reader and not serious enough for the scholars — Yahav persisted, eventually landing the Jerusalem-based agent Deborah Harris. One day when Harari was away meditating, Yahav and Harris finally sold it at auction to Random House in London.Today, they have a team of eight based in Tel Aviv working on Harari’s projects. Director Ridley Scott and documentarian Asif Kapadia are adapting “Sapiens” into a TV show, and Harari is working on children’s books to reach a broader audience.Yahav used to meditate, but has recently stopped. “It was too hectic,” he said while folding laundry. “I couldn’t get this kind of huge success and a regular practice.” Harari remains dedicated.“If it were only up to him, he would be a monk in a cave, writing things and never getting his hair cut,” Yahav said, looking at his husband. “Can I tell that story?”Harari said no.“On our first meeting,” Yahav said, “he had cut his hair by himself. And it was a very bad job.”The couple are vegan, and Harari is particularly sensitive to animals. He identified the sweatshirt he was wearing as one he got just before one of his dogs died. Yahav cut in to ask if he could tell another story; Harari seemed to know exactly what he meant, and said absolutely not.“In the middle of the night,” Yahav said, “when there is a mosquito, he will catch him and take him out.”Being gay, Harari said, has helped his work — it set him apart to study culture more clearly because it made him question the dominant stories of his own conservative Jewish society. “If society got this thing wrong, who guarantees it didn’t get everything else wrong as well?” he said.“If I was a superhuman, my superpower would be detachment,” Harari added. “OK, so maybe humankind is going to disappear — OK, let’s just observe.”For fun, the couple watches TV. It is their primary hobby and topic of conversation, and Yahav said it was the only thing from which Harari is not detached. They just finished “Dear White People,” and they loved the Australian series “Please Like Me.” That night, they had plans to either meet Facebook executives at company headquarters or watch the YouTube show “Cobra Kai.”Harari left Silicon Valley the next weekend. Soon, in December, he will enter an ashram outside Mumbai, India, for another 60 days of silence. Chartered Accountant For consultng. Contact Us: http://bit.ly/bombay-ca

By Nellie BowlesFuturist philosopher Yuval Noah Harari worries about a lot.He worries that Silicon Valley is undermining democracy and ushering in a dystopian hellscape in which voting is obsolete. Currently I had an uncommon telephone verbal exchange with a lady who called for a 20- minute consult about my services. If commonplace it became at least exclusive; the first of its type. However, I suspect many other Humans have the identical sentiment, but, do not say it.

I failed to ask many questions, due to the fact she seemed resolved in her function.
But, it led me to write down approximately what I have known approximately Humans’s reluctance to seek transformational healing: What become underneath her comment? And, what can i analyze from her? I started to mirror at the possible emotional undercurrent:
o I want something that makes me sense accurate, but I do not need to suppose too much or exchange some thing. You realize, I need a captivating story that offers me a temporary get away or possibly bury my ache for a while. I will inform my buddies and they will be fascinated too.
O Is she saying: I paintings in my head? I like abstractions or fairy dust? I do not need to use ideas to my beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and actions?
O greater possible questions observed. Is self-reflection some thing she desires to keep away from? possibly connecting the dots of her patterns-purpose and effect, her mind or her approaches of referring to are too painful?
O perhaps she is scared stiff of personal reflection, of what she would possibly uncover about herself (assuming it is going to be earth shattering or a painful revel in?)
o possibly she does not need to transport beyond the acquainted of her existence, even though it could be restricting or virtually painful.
O possibly she would not want to make a personal emotional funding in her existence or relationships? Does she need to preserve again?
O Does she in a few perverse way experience and/or enjoy the ache?
O Is she afraid if she knows the cause of her ache she is afraid she will fall into an abyss and not using a recourse-the ache she is in is acquainted and the entirety else is unknown, surprising and horrifying.
O Perhaps some thing else?
These questions are the questions anyone faces while contemplating the technique of making shifts to create a distinction in one’s life.
I confess part of me enjoys studying and ingesting every abstraction and correct tale inside the Universe. However, on the equal time I realize that facts is handiest as correct as one applies it. And, I used to be intentional in that decision to use what I learned from analyzing-now not simplest for myself, but additionally for the Humans I help of their transformation.
This is an empowering and on occasion lonely shift for many Humans. however a necessary shift. all and sundry needs to turn inward to create self-mirrored image. all and sundry wishes to listen to what one says to oneself. Most people of People had been indoctrinated to believe that such “talking to self” is an indication of some sort of alphabet sickness.
I allow the reports operating with lots of People over the years as a Metaphysician to formulate inside me the essence of courting legal guidelines and communicate those legal guidelines and styles in approaches that are comprehensible and promote desirable movement, healing and fitness.
I believe and enjoy this technique for myself. And I’ve the respect and privilege of guiding People of their adventure to self-mirrored image and restoration.
Your inner life is the supply of empowerment, inspiration, wish, accept as true with, faith, lifestyles’s reason and results in an ever expansive and wholeness of who you absolutely are and what you have to offer your self, others and the Regularly occurring process.

I apprehend. If I ought to create this type of magic wand, I would patent it, because, thousands of Human beings might stand in line for hours to have me wave it over them.
You default to this role due to the fact deep down, within the center of your being you consider or worry which you have nothing to offer, do not know what You can provide, or are afraid you’ll stumble upon a very inadequate tormented soul. How typically did your mother and father say, ‘What is wrong with you?” “Why did you, Why failed to you?” “You continually… ” “You never… ” You have to/should not… ” And the list is going on. You internalized the ones blaming phrases, and now keep to run the countless looped tape to your head.
This inner talk is computerized and also you pay little attention to it; other than to wish it or push it away.
Channels of perceived pain, misplaced hope, inadequacy, worthlessness, rejection, guilt, shame, humiliation and fear run like a raging river thru you, seemingly past your manage.
As a consequence, you worry self-mirrored image. You simply want to have an clean solution, a ‘brief restore, ‘ a tablet to numb the ache-How has that worked for you or every person You realize?
You may have gathered a library of exciting books and concepts however they don’t touch you. You examine them, loved them. but little or nothing changed into internalized or assimilated.
What would a actual exchange, propelled by way of the connection or profession crisis in your existence, appear like for you?
It might not be as horrific for you as you fear.
in place of fearing your electricity, believing it’s far for destruction, you can discover YOUR electricity which gives existence as you welcome your empowerment, goodness and greatness.
Recollect That is a actual shift because maximum of the world round you needs and wants you to accept as true with that you are missing, you understand you want them and would be nothing without them. This perception puts you in a secondary priority and a one down role.
They have not made the radical shift to proper and effective self-reflection that grounds their existence and offers them peace and purpose and an excellent footing with all and sundry else.
So, be easy on yourself as you development. See this as a journey; a adventure that, in fact, is everlasting.
