SFW only. At most I'll go PG-13 with romance and a little blood. Glitching/eyestrain I'm okay with too :3 (Some fandoms may have a more exceptions.)

Most important, remember I am human and these are optional fun things I do on the side. I try to do as many as I can, but I draw them in between other projects and by random. So do not spam, force, or harass me to do your request faster or change the finished one (unless it's a character detail I missed). Some may never get drawn and I need to understand that too. However, if I deny a request, I'll let you know instead of leaving it in my inbox forever.

Here's some stuff I've read and enjoyed (in reversed-chronological order):

Headfirst for Halos by Goober826 (Heed content warnings!) 4 chapters at the moment and it's Frenreylatta. The fic follows Gordon and the Science team post-ResCas and the author delves more into the immediate aftermath of the ResCas, the consequences of trauma, and lots about Gordon's thought processes after the whole thing amongst other stuff. I'm really liking it so far >:]. -----

Tangles by Dimonds456 1 chapter and it's a short lighthearted Frenrey fic featuring Gordon helping Benrey with detangling his hair. It includes some angst, but it's mostly fluff :D! And sillys. The author added many sillys into their back-and-forth dialogues hehehe. -----

do your job and keep them safe by JoyFlameball (Heed content warnings!) 1 chapter and it's meant to be read via google docs because the author makes interesting paragraphing choices to aid in the storytelling that couldn't be done in AO3 :P. This one explores a heavier take on Benrey's thought process throughout the series and recontextualises a lot of his actions in ways that have made me go "oh" . -----

Better Than None: Kiss Prompts by Antilocapra (Different content warnings for different prompts) 24 kiss prompts, some very cute, some very silly, and some very, very sad :"). It's mostly Frenrey, but it also includes some other ships like Boomer and Tomrey. I like the author's writing style heheh, the characters are written with little details that make them feel alive. -----

Human Resources Violation by KogoDogo (Heed content warnings!) 31 chapters and it leans a whooooole lot more into the horror aspect of HLVRAI. I haven't finished it so I can't give more information on it, but if you like surrealism and horror, this one has that. This author describes the grotesque very well...man, I lack the words to describe it. -----

carrot soup by Crowned_Ladybug 4 parts, Frenrey fic post-ResCas and it's also a fluffy one, I think :] (of course, it includes hurt/comfort too). The author explores multiple Benrey cultural-difference headcanons (sweet voice, difference in communication style, etc.) in this one and,,, there's so much thought put into them,,, I enjoy them so very, very much.

I haven't started reading all the fanfics I've bookmarked for HLVRAI, but here are some that I have read and enjoyed!! Hope this helped!!

what do you think about Tommy/Forzen(Beybladeshipping)?

i’ve mentioned before that i like them best when they want each other dead HOWEVER you can throw any tommy ship at me and i’ll probably enjoy it. they’re kind of like tomrey to me except i feel like they wouldn’t be very upfront with each other LMFAO tommy’s usually just really quiet and in my mind forzen is kind of awkward with romantic shit .. a lot of their affection is not very straightforward (especially on forzens end) but it’s still there. neither of them are saying anything romantic to each other or hold hands or anything but i think they’d do well with quality time and acts of service. also i have some forzen headcanons that i feel like could make them work kinda nice

tldr not a dynamic i ever really think about romantically but they’re cute i could see myself sketching them once or twice

its really hard for me to read some hlvrai fics as i dislike the characterization or the writing style typically but you have the best ones ive seen! i really like all the tomrey content too :-D i did have a question though,, do you write tommy as chinese? ive seen mentions of him being asian and iirc something about being chinese and im (half) chinese and id w tommy the most so seeing him written as my ethnicity was really exciting for me!!!!!

omg I'm so happy to hear that!!! I miss writing hlvrai fics tbh, they were such fun characters to write. and yes, I usually do write tommy as chinese!! sometimes blasian, but almost always chinese. it's one of my favorite headcanons for him :]

48: ...out of habit.

“Okay, Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, please, I am begging you - you have got to sit this one out,” Gordon says. “Please, for the sake of the rest of us - give us a chance!”

Benrey smirks and settles his elbows on his thighs, controller dangling limply from one hand. “Freeman’s got a point, y’know,” he says.

“I’m - I just want you to, um, to improve, Mr. Freeman,” Tommy says innocently, as their scores are displayed on the screen. Luigi spins and punches the air as stars burst from him. Benrey grins. He’s placed second, Dr. Coomer and Bubby might as well be tied for how close their scores are, and Gordon is at the very bottom.

“How the fuck am I supposed to improve when you keep knocking me off the track?” Gordon whines.

“It builds character, Gordon,” Dr. Coomer says. Bubby says nothing, but the way he sips his drink is judgemental enough.

“I don’t want to build character,” Gordon huffs. “I want to get more than a quarter of the way through the race at one fucking time!”

“Sounds like a personal problem,” Benrey says, and then ducks as Gordon hurls a balled-up napkin at his head.

“Mr. Freeman, please!” Tommy scolds, then ducks himself as Sunkist lunges over the couch after the napkin. “That wasn’t very polite!”

“That wasn’t - he’s not polite!” Gordon yelps. Benrey just sticks his tongue out at him.

“It’s his house, Mr. Freeman,” Tommy says primly. 

“It’s your house,” Gordon counters. “He just happens to live here, too.”

Benrey has to resist the urge to roll his eyes. Gordon has been out of town for two months on some sort of weird work thing where he was loaned out to another lab for some fancy collaboration project, and it’s clear he’s still out of tune with the group. They had played some multiplayer games with him when he was gone, but he was pretty busy and their schedules didn’t always line up, so this was the first time the whole group was together since he’d gotten back.

“If it’s Tommy’s house, doesn’t he get to say whose house it is?” Benrey says.

Gordon gapes at him for a moment. “That doesn’t - that doesn’t make any sense!”

“You don’t make any sense,” Benrey retorts.

“Your face doesn’t -”

“I think it’s good that you lost, Gordon!” Dr. Coomer interrupts, which obviously throws Gordon off. “Now, you have a stronger motivation to win! Feel the anger burning in your heart, Gordon! Where’s your rage? Where’s your fucking rage -”

Bubby places a hand on his shoulder, and Dr. Coomer twitches, then deflates slightly from where he’d been leaning over the coffee table. 

“Terribly sorry about that,” he says brightly. “I got a bit carried away.”

“Happens to the best of us,” Bubby says, and daintily stirs his drink with its tiny umbrella. “Tommy, this cocktail is disgusting. Do you have any Amaretto?”

“Oh, um, I’m not sure. I’ll go check.” Bubby smirked at Gordon as Tommy leaned forward to put the controller on the coffee table. He tapped it three times, then slapped his knees and stood up, swinging around the arm of the couch to walk behind it. Automatically, Benrey tipped his head back and Tommy ducked down and smacked a kiss to the corner of his mouth as he passed by. It was part of the pattern, a comfortable habit. Benrey didn’t even think about it as he dipped his chin back to his chest and used his controller to tab to a new race so they could start before Tommy got back, just like Gordon wanted. Maybe he’d stop complaining as much if he got beaten by somebody else this time.

And speaking of Gordon…

“What the fuck was THAT?”

“Huh?” Benrey blinks and looks over at him. Gordon is gaping at him, flailing one hand in that over-the-top way of his. 

“What - don’t - that! How long has that been going on?” Gordon’s flailing both hands now.

“I’m glad you asked, Gordon!” Dr. Coomer chirps. “The earliest reference to kissing-like behavior comes from the Vedas, Sanskrit scriptures that -”

“No, that’s not what I meant!” Gordon barks. Bubby is watching Gordon with raised eyebrows. Dr. Coomer seems unfazed by the interruption, using Gordon’s distraction to snag his bowl of chips and tug it over to their side of the table. Bubby eats one without taking his eyes off Gordon’s attempt to transform into a wacky inflatable car dealership balloon man.

“I’m not - I just - is this a thing now?” Gordon gestures at Benrey, who weighs the pros and cons of pushing him into a complete meltdown.

Before he can decide, Tommy leans over the back of the couch with a bottle of orange liquid in his hands. “Is there a problem, Mr. Freeman?”

Gordon freezes, then sits back in his seat. They could all hear the edge of Tommy’s father in his voice. Benrey grins shamelessly up at Tommy, who leans down and gives him a deliberate kiss on the lips. 

“I don’t have any, um, Amaretto,” Tommy says to Bubby, “but I did - I found this orange vodka. Will that work?”

“Better than nothing, I suppose,” Bubby shrugs, and reaches a hand out. “Give it here.”

“What the fuck,” Gordon whispers as Tommy hands the bottle over.

“What, Freeman, are you a, uh, a homophone?” Benrey smirks.

“I’m not -”

“Gordon, don’t be such a prude,” Dr. Coomer chastizes, hand-feeding one of Gordon’s chips to Bubby. Gordon puts his head in his hands.

“I’m not homopobic,” he says to the floor. “I’m just - I was just surprised! I didn’t know you guys were a thing.” He looks back up and pastes an awkward smile on. “But, congratulations, I guess?”

“S’not like it’s new,” Benrey said. “You’re just, uh…” He can’t think of the word.

“You’re not very observant, Mr. Freeman,” Tommy says as he sits back down next to Benrey on the couch. He clasps his hands and taps his thumbs together, then reaches out and picks up his controller again.

“Was being in Alabama contagious?” Bubby asks, and Gordon groans.

“I’m not homophobic!” He repeats. “I just wasn’t expecting that!”

“I dunno why you’re so concerned with, uh, what Tommy does in his own house,” Benrey says, and Gordon makes a noise like a busted engine. Benrey grins, the mean edge to his smile softening when he feels Tommy’s hand come down on his and squeeze.

“I think Mr. Freeman needs some time to adjust,” Tommy says primly. “He might - um, maybe he should sit this game out.”

“Sounds good to me!” Bubby replies, and they all scramble for their controllers before Gordon has a chance to react. With little effort, Benrey manages to hook his arm through Tommy’s, which means they’ll be playing with linked arms. Tommy just bumps Benrey with his shoulder and starts the race, settling comfortably against him so their sides are touching.

“Ah, young love,” Dr. Coomer sighs, and then proceeds to completely destroy them all in the next round. Tucked up against Tommy's side, Benrey finds that he is too content to care.

tbh i dont really like tomrey that much (or most tommy ships for that matter sorry). if i made a tierlist of hlvr ships itd probably be at the bottom. i dont think theyre horrible or whatever i can see why people like them i just dont like best friend ships that much </3 i think their dynamic is funnier if benreys like "this is my best friend tommy were best friends" and tommys like "who are you !" u kno...

i also think its kinda funny if tommy doesnt like anyone in the science team and is constantly trying to minorly inconvenience them so they kick him out its so fucking funny to think about!! they do become friends in my post rescas scenario though because benrey gets ina qpr with darnold and tommy finds out about it (thats also how the rest of the cast finds out about benrey being back. by darnold telling them hes in a qpr with benrey. gordons pissed about it)

Benrey really liked Tommy. Like, really really liked him.

He was like a ray of sun in an ice cold room, gently warming everything around him. Them and Tommy were polar opposites, but somehow got along.

Hell, Tommy liked them. Wanted to be their boyfriend and shit. That thought still made Benrey swoon- so little dates like this sent them over the fucking moon.

Even if it was just drinking soda at a McDonald's. At two in the morning.

Technically it was still a date and they would consider it as such.

It only happened because neither of them could sleep- it was rainy season in New Mexico, and instead of the rain being calming it was just overwhelming them both in the usually quiet bedroom.

So they went and got McDonald's. Well, soda. Neither enjoyed eating right before going to bed- and they were definitely going to crash hard when they got home, now that the rain was letting up to a soft drizzle.

That calm drizzle Tommy and Benrey enjoyed the most.

Benrey sips at their soda - a mishmash of every single soda you can dispense at the McDonald's, which they call a 'Dr Pepper'. Tommy can't help but laugh every time they sip it.

"You- you're really drinking some- a soda like that?" They ask in amusement.

"mmm yeah. why not? 's uhhh. dr pepper, bro." Benrey softly teases Tommy, holding their soda out and shaking it a little. "cmon have a lil sip. just a lil sippy."

Tommy laughs, wrinkling their nose and making a disgusted face. "N-No way! It's like- it's like a potion you make in the bath- bathroom with all the soap!"

Benrey laughs a bit, secretly absolutely swooning over Tommy's disgusted face as they push the straw against his lips. "cmoonnnn. not even gonna try uh, boyfriend benny's secret potion?" The statement just makes Tommy laugh all the more.

"I'm not- I'm not drinking that-! It looks- uh- it looks gross!"

"awww cmon. not even for boyfriend benny? i'll even uhh. give you a lil smooch for your troubles."

"B-Benreyyy-!"

"pleaseee? i'll give you uh- ten smooches for your troubles. try the potionnn."

Tommy seems to give in at that, taking the cup and looking a little hesitant over it. "I feel like you're- you're trying to poison me- this is a sin," he says, taking a sip and thinking for a moment.

"is not a sin. 's uhh, dr pepper bro. how you like it? like benny's potion?" Benrey asks, grin gently ghosting over their face.

Tommy thought for a moment more before looking genuinely surprised. "It's- it's actually, um, not that bad." They admit, a little embarrassed smile on their face now.

God Benrey loved that smile.

Either way, they pump their fist in the air and steal a sip from Tommy's soda to make things even. The McDonald's only had Coke products so it was Sprite- usually he got Pepsi. "oh hell yeah. knew you would uh, like it."

"But the name is- is completely inaccurate! I can luh- mmmm... I can taste actual Dr- Dr Pepper in there, Benrey!" Tommy quickly adds on.

"that's just uhh. mine is just dr pepper ultra. got uhhh. downloads on mine. all the flavors and more."

"That makes no sense- Dr Pepper already has 23 flavors, how can it have-have more?"

"i add more soda to it"

With Benrey's nonchalant statement, Tommy bursts into a flurry of laughter. "You're- you're a dork!" He laughs, playfully punching Benrey's shoulder.

Benrey just smiles. Man, they really loved Tommy.

After their little soda endeavors, the two returned to the car. Gentle rain was still coming down, blanketing New Mexico in a sort of soft, gentle silence.

Tommy pauses a moment to admire the quiet, and Benrey pauses with them, both just staring up at the sky for a moment.

"The rain is- is pretty, huh? Calming, I mean." Tommy finally breaks the silence, seemingly blinking back into reality.

"yeah, it's uhh... it's nice being able to feel the rain." Benrey responds idly, knowing what Tommy means when he says that.

Tommy looks at Benrey for a moment longer before smiling. That gentle smile that makes you feel like a cat laying in a sun spot. "Well- we should uh, go back, sh- shouldn't we?"

Benrey looks back as a small smile tugs at their lips. "yeah. probably uhh, good idea."
