🐱 Nightwing #110 rambling AKA wailing about how Dick and Jon love Damian
backtracking to 2 weeks ago in Titans #6 for a sec when Dick expressed how he wanted to look for Damian - it was nice to get a nod of Dick being concerned, but i was a bit bummed he didn't start a search. and i get it, the world needs saving, Dick's gotta do what he has to!!
different writer/story, but this line popped into my head the moment Babs said Earth needs the Titans
Damian means the world to Dick!! the Titans can take care of the literal world without him for a bit!!
but ykw it's fine since this issue proved me wrong, and Dick looks for Damian anyway!! 😭 basically "the world's still in danger but my brother needs me right now" this was just the start of the issue and i fell to my knees THEY BOTH REALLY DROPPED EVERYTHING FOR DAMIAN
the part where they plan to wait out Damian's match was so funny to me because Dick keeps repeating to Jon that they shouldn't engage, but then Dick just goes "NEVERMIND i'm going in" 😭 he couldn't stand watching Damian be hurt anymore i'm weeping
with context this is actually so sad for Damian orz otherwise i just wanted to say i love these drawings!! it's just a really cool page to me - i love the posing, especially in the hands/claws!! the intense expressions!! also so efficient in showing how the match escalates with Damian quickly overpowering Gail (along with seeing Jon's dread 🙁)
THEY WERE SO WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THIS WOULD DO TO DAMIAN 😭
just more panels of Dick and Jon worrying over Damian :')
DYNAMIC DUO 2.0!! and ofc they have a dramatic entrance haha
HEAD IN MY HANDS...CRYING... i'm assuming Damian's hands are still supposed to be covered in blood since the first thing he thinks about when he returns to being human is what he had done without his control. and this bothers him to the end of the issue 😭 (HIS EXPRESSIONS EVEN WITH THE MASK ON 😭)
not sure if it's intentional, but Dick's speech to Damian in B:WFA ep 113 is kinda brought to canon here through both Dick and Jon
this was a sleep deprived reactionary rambling, so not much thought is left in my head lol i was hoping for some cute cat Damian shenanigans, but i'll happily take Dick and Jon being protective over Damian! 🥺
one last duo pic for the road :)

So long as the political and economic system remains intact, voter enfranchisement, though perhaps resisted by overt white supremacists, is still welcomed so long as nothing about the overall political arrangement fundamentally changes. The facade of political equality can occur under violent occupation, but liberation cannot be found in the occupier’s ballot box. In the context of settler colonialism voting is the “civic duty” of maintaining our own oppression. It is intrinsically bound to a strategy of extinguishing our cultural identities and autonomy.
[...]
Since we cannot expect those selected to rule in this system to make decisions that benefit our lands and peoples, we have to do it ourselves. Direct action, or the unmediated expression of individual or collective desire, has always been the most effective means by which we change the conditions of our communities.
What do we get out of voting that we cannot directly provide for ourselves and our people? What ways can we organize and make decisions that are in harmony with our diverse lifeways? What ways can the immense amount of material resources and energy focused on persuading people to vote be redirected into services and support that we actually need? What ways can we direct our energy, individually and collectively, into efforts that have immediate impact in our lives and the lives of those around us?
This is not only a moral but a practical position and so we embrace our contradictions. We’re not rallying for a perfect prescription for “decolonization” or a multitude of Indigenous Nationalisms, but for a great undoing of the settler colonial project that comprises the United States of America so that we may restore healthy and just relations with Mother Earth and all her beings. Our tendency is towards autonomous anti-colonial struggles that intervene and attack the critical infrastructure that the U.S. and its institutions rest on. Interestingly enough, these are the areas of our homelands under greatest threat by resource colonialism. This is where the system is most prone to rupture, it’s the fragility of colonial power. Our enemies are only as powerful as the infrastructure that sustains them. The brutal result of forced assimilation is that we know our enemies better than they know themselves. What strategies and actions can we devise to make it impossible for this system to govern on stolen land?
We aren’t advocating for a state-based solution, redwashed European politic, or some other colonial fantasy of “utopia.” In our rejection of the abstraction of settler colonialism, we don’t aim to seize colonial state power but to abolish it.
We seek nothing but total liberation.

the essence of your chivalry, isn't it, is to devote yourself to the service of what you cannot have.
unlit version. i have a commission to do tomorrow that has a lot of fancy trim and i wanted to test out some techniques on some personal art, am iffy on using it on a comm (not sure it's nice enough) but I think I can make it work if I try, so I will try.
this has been my "personal piece to work on between stuff" thing for the last few days, and then it also turned into "I worked for ten hours straight and I want to paint something" after work @_@

carmy keeps on fucking up the budget numbers for repairs of the restaurant, sydney is right there correcting him every time
carmy enters the office, forgetting completely about his “good idea” that he didn’t write down
sydney enters the office, in the middle of a reassuring sentiment for morale, falls through drywall, carmy is right there when she forgets what she was saying, remembers for her, even finishes her sentence for her
just like that carmy remembers what the good idea was
it’s giving v much you’re the only one who keeps my head on straight, v much I’m not me without you, v much classic married couple, v much I know you I know you I know you I see you I’m here with you

More ROTTMNT Headcanons: cause I don't want to write my essay
After the movie, Leo bought the team shirts that said “frequently bought together” on the front and “do not separate” on the back
He bought them as a joke thinking the team would just throw them away but they wear them often
April Cass and Casey Jr all wear them as sleep shirts because no one in their human friend groups gets the joke
Whenever someone asks who the evil twin is everyone responds with “both of them”
God forbid you piss off both of them at the same time
Because Leo will come up with a plan to ruin your life and Donnie will make it happen
And no one accuses them because they’ve already covered their tracks
Leo April and Mikey will go ghost hunting
After the whole gumbus situation they became obsessed with ghost videos
And if they stumble upon a really scary one April begs Leo to teleport them to the location
So they can see for themselves if it’s real or not
Leo does it because he wants to prove that it’s not a ghost
And Mikey tags along because he wants to see if there are real ghosts out there
They have a whole youtube channel dedicated to ghost hunting (because if Donnie gets to have a youtube channel so do they)
Donnie and Raph watch every single one of their videos and laugh their asses off
I don't know if they can get sick (besides the rat flu) but if they can these are my headcanons
When someone gets sick the whole family drops what they're doing and tries to help
They get the sick person all the food and water they need
When Raph gets sick he tries to act like he isn’t sick
He’ll try and train and patrol and hang out with his brothers
But they’re always able to tell when he’s sick because he’s spacy
When they do catch onto him being sick they treat him like a baby (and he loves it)
When Leo gets sick no one can tell because he doesn’t even act sick
The only way the family can tell a difference is by how much tea he drinks
When he’s healthy he’ll have like two cups a day when he’s sick he’ll guzzle that shit
And when they call him out on it he’s in total denial
He will try and convince you he’s completely healthy while hacking up a lung
It’s ridiculous
And when they make him rest he will bitch and moan
Donnie is the total opposite
Whenever he’s sick he will make it known to every single person in the house
He will wake people up from their peaceful slumber to tell them he threw up
And if someone is not catering to him he will moan and groan about how they don’t love him
Mikey tries to be like Leo but he’s more like Raph
His symptoms are always super obvious and he can never stay up for more than eight hours
And when the family tries to baby him he throws little fits
He has to be sick to ask for help and even then it’s begrudgingly

GtWAC Day 1:
Reblog your go to comfort fic
If you have not read The Stranding (and by extension, The Rescue) by the darling @belethlegwen you are deeply missing out! The sheer amount of content is truly a blessing, and considering its still being updated?? ASDFJHSLK
Belle is an incredible story teller, and this shines through in her writing so well I feel like I'm getting flashbanged by talent.
You know that typical writing advice about not introducing too many characters, especially early on as it divides the reader's attention?? BELLE STOMPS ON THAT.
AND
IT
WORKS
I genuinely can't get over how much I am in love with her characters. I must admit- I am the typical reader with one too many bonks to the head that can't seem to focus on/ remember/ care about more than 3-5 characters- that is not the case here.
Every character she introduces has my interest piqued- each one feeling alive and at home in their setting. And its not just likeable in the sense of "oh I'd be friends with them" (and she absolutely has many characters I'd love to be friends with)- its these raw and real characterizations that make you like them as a character.
They have their own mystery to them too- even if its not direct. Her characters make you wonder more about their past and why they act the way they do. They can be frustrating, immature, stubborn, even cruel- but they feel so deeply real.
Both written works from Sizeable Ship Wrecks are among my favorite things I've read- both inside and outside of the G/t sphere to the point I feel as though I could shamelessly recommend this to someone outside of the G/t community and be confident they would enjoy it.
