RWBY Rewrite: The Jaundice Arc
Hey there everybody! Sorry it’s been awhile since you’ve heard from me, but I’ve got a job now and less of writing drive than I had when I was high school/college. Doesn’t mean it’s completely gone though and now I’m going to tackle the point that people started to really have problems with RWBY: the Jaundice Arc.
I know, big guns, but frankly I wanted to get this one. Partially because I want to do Jaune’s post eventually and I feel like I need to do this one before I can do that one, and partially because like I said before: this point where people really started to have problems with the show. And more specifically, this when people REALLY start to dislike Jaune.
Now, I’ve touched on my feelings on him before, but let me get this all out and over with. I don’t hate Jaune and I don’t think he’s an inherently bad character. Almost everyone on this show has been written badly and I think the absolutely simmering undercurrents that some parts of the RWDE community have for him is perhaps a little over the top. Personally, I think the core idea of his character is pretty good and he’s at his best in my opinion when he’s playing support to the other characters.
That being said, I completely understand why people dislike him. He has been constantly given focus away from the main team, which started in Volume 1 which was already short as it was to devote about a quarter of your episodes to a non main character in your first season. He also doesn’t suffer nearly as much for the consequences of his actions while the female characters get constant crap for theirs. I’m not even going to go into the Miles Luna Author Self Insert thing.
After having read fan fiction and seen some rewrite scenarios on Youtube, I personally think that Jaune can be written well so long as he’s not being written by Miles and Kerry. With that, I’m ready to take my crack at it.
Setup
As I said, Jaune took massive screen time away from the main characters since early on in the series. There’s an easy way to fix this. As I stated in an earlier post, I was going to spend the first volume/season focusing on Team RWBY aside from a small potential team up with Team JNPR. Jaune, and his other teammates, would mainly be relegated to comedy and background support for the main four girls after the Initiation. I’d throw in a few hints of what’s to come with them, but that’s it. Thus, I’d actually put the Jaundice Arc in the second volume/season which would be significantly larger than the first.
Because we’d be doing it then, we’d have bit more buildup for this story. Cardin’s bullying and enmity towards Jaune would be set up in the prior volume/season’s class interactions. As I noted in my School Rewrite, Jaune’s strategic abilities would also be showcased early on as well as Cardin’s tendency to go head on and brutal without realizing potential problems with that approach. Jaune’s relationship with Pyrrha and the rest of his team would also be better set up.
Now that the board is set, let’s get to it.
Student Days
The first thing I would absolutely change is making it clear that Jaune is actually trying. That was the thing that really did irk me with how Miles and Kerry wrote this arc, despite having gone through the effort of cheating his way into a huntsman academy, he then proceeds to goof off and put absolutely no effort into it. So, before and during this arc, it’ll be clearly shown he’s been studying like crazy and putting in extra time into the fighting simulations that are available for students. He’s not failing in terms of his regular studies, but he’s not top of the class either. In terms of physical combat, he’s the worst in his year, but he’s exceptional in Strategy and Tactics. This I think would be a good and reasonable place for Jaune starting out given his character and background prior to the series.
Thing is, this pisses Cardin off. He sees how much of a weakling Jaune is as a fighter and can see that he is so out of place at Beacon. Despite this, he’s paired with arguably the strongest person in their class who hangs on his every word and has (unintentionally) been showing him up as a leader during Strategy and Tactics. He knows something is off with Jaune, leading him to spy on him to figure out what’s up.
I wouldn’t change that much with him and Pyrrha’s interaction on the roof, I already briefed the reason why Pyrrha trusts him as a leader in her rewrite post. Maybe throw in a hint that his father really didn’t want Jaune to become a huntsman, but I’ll get into that when I get into his backstory proper.
I also wouldn’t change that much revolving in his talk with Cardin straight after save for one thing. After Jaune is left alone with his thoughts on this situation his lies have gotten him into, the scene shifts to being shown on a screen, making it clear that this is being watched from a camera on the roof. A finger taps on the screen a few times and we hear a familiar pensive hum.
The fall out with his team and his one on one with Ruby isn’t really changed, aside from Ren and Nora being more vocally concerned about Jaune’s actions and Pyrrha’s frosty change in behavior which the latter shoots down the concerns sharply.
Forever Falls/Aftermath
I don’t think I’ll change that much regarding the trip itself. I was thinking of mentioning the reason the teams are there is because this is their group task for the month (gathering sap for Professor Peach, who would actually be here taking originally Glynda’s place) and that’s why it’s only these three teams here. Same overall events occur: CRDL tries to get Pyrrha, Jaune stands up to Cardin, Grimm take down with Pyrrha’s unknown aid.
Jaune does apologize to Pyrrha like in the original and ask to train him. Though I was thinking that he’d get something a bit more painful than just a hard shove. I was thinking she’d take his hand and tackle him to the ground hard while pointing out his weaknesses.
This will cut to Ozpin’s office, with Cardin finishing up with telling his version of events who is obviously very agitated from the day’s events. In this Rewrite, there is no reason why he wouldn’t just tell on Jaune. Ozpin merely takes it all in with pensive expression before asking about the light that seemed to protect Jaune. Cardin answers this with confusion and some surprise, Ozpin nodding with a “Good to know” before updating a file on his tablet. Cardin is even more confused and asks what the Headmaster is going to do about Jaune. His answer: Nothing.
Cardin is shocked and furious at the Headmaster, going into him a bit before threatening to go to the board with this. Ozpin responds that even if he did so, he wouldn’t have a case. Cardin is completely confused as Ozpin explains: When students apply for Beacon, their applications go through extensive background checks before there are selections for the second round (ie the Entrance Exam). Such fake transcripts would have been discovered around that time.....had they actually gone through the admissions board. As it was, Jaune’s was accepted through an alternative.
But honestly, that’s not to say the admissions board is completely infallible, Ozpin would muse. Some are very inclined to promote those connected to them, others are interested in advancing their career elsewhere,.....and some might be inclined to take money from very influential people, such as a well meaning Uncle whose Council seat is up for reelection soon. Cardin gets noticeably stiff at that last one. Then Ozpin bring up some videos to the screen, all of them showing Cardin and his team bullying others, particularly Faunus students. The headmaster then would muse aloud that he wonder how Councilman Winchester, or moreso his Faunus opponent, would react to such un-Huntsman like behavior getting out into the news. Cardin immediately gets what the headmaster wants and goes completely quiet. Ozpin would merely say that he is a big believer in second chances and that while he understands that shenanigans in such as a school as this is to expected, Cardin would do best to remember that even if he thinks no one is watching he should act like there is. This cuts the meeting to a close with Cardin leaving quietly and Oz going back to his tablet, clicking back to a file with Jaune’s symbol on in it amongst others files with symbols on them. Only Jaune’s is a different color than the others and a scroll up would show us only one other file with that same color: Ruby’s.
Okay, it feels like I spent a lot of this post musing on the Cardin and Ozpin scene (really I could have done a oneshot on it), but this really was an important scene to establish some very important things to this Rewrite.
1. Ozpin is not an idiot. Ozpin is shown to be very aware of what’s going on at his school. While he may not get directly involved with things, he is shown to be watching his students. And while he is shown to be merciful in giving Cardin a second chance after the crap he pulled, he is also shown to not be a pushover. With such vigilance showcased, it will the Fall of Beacon even more devastating in how Ozpin missed his enemies working under his nose.
2. Ozpin’s true nature and goals are thrown into question. This rewrite is going to be more morally gray, especially in regards to Ozpin. Not only has he blackmailed a student to keep it quiet about another student, he knowingly let someone into his school he knew wasn’t qualified. In this rewrite up until this point he would have been shown as a distant but well intentioned headmaster. Now, he’s just gotten plenty shady. It would also bring into question Ruby’s enrollment into Beacon given that she got in in the same way (also strengthening those two’s parallels, but I digress).
3. Makes us question why Ozpin let Jaune in and sets up that Jaune is important in some way. As noted in my musings in a previous post, it makes no sense for Jaune to have gotten into Beacon unless Ozpin saw his transcripts and accepted him on that alone. Since we are shown in this scene Ozpin is aware of the transcripts, it makes us question what did he accept Jaune for. This also sets up that he will be important to the story moving forward, and not just as the revenge driven not ex boyfriend of the girl who tragically died.
Now, why did Ozpin accept him? Well, that will be covered in his own character post. I think this is plenty long enough and I think I will do something different before I get back to these Rewrite post. I hope like this one more than the last.
See you all! And stay save in this Covid time!

001 - Tales of Zestiria?
Favorite character: It's a tough call between Maltran and Symonne, and Lunarre is trailing right behind both. I tend to call them the "Heldalf Squad," but make no mistake, Heldalf himself isn't part of it. I just like his swagalicious minions. The dry and sarcastic political manipulator, the sadistic and wordy theater nerd, and the flamboyant cannibal who hates everything. Yes. LOVE. But I have to give a shout to my boy Dezel on the hero side! Angsty/stoic characters are very hit-or-miss with me, but Dezel is the flavor I love - obvious soft spots and quirks, and slowly he builds from being antisocial to showing how big his heart is. When he stops the woman from leaping off the Guinevere tower...that's one of my favorite scenes in the entire game, because you can see when the switch flips, when he realizes that he CANNOT stay aloof any longer when there's a stranger's life on the line. He's still a grump about it but a compassionate grump.
Least Favorite character: Heldalf. His backstory is really clever, and I like the curse on him. But he himself just feels like Ganondorf but more boring. I kinda hate that he's so vanilla when his three lieutenants are in my arsenal of pet villains from the vastness of fiction. Also shout-out to Chancellor BART in the opening Ladylake act, because I distinctly remember liveblogging this to a friend, and I played Zestiria *after* Berseria (I'd loved Berseria and that's why I eventually sought out Zestiria) so here I am just comparing up the corrupt church in Ladylake to the Abbey's suave rogues gallery like "Yeah no BART has nothing on Lady Teresa Linares." Thankfully BART was never seen again.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): DezeRose, SorMik, Symonne x Coco Atarashi (The World Ends With You), Alisha Diphda x Sergei Strelka, and...I swear you have to bear with me here...Zaveid x Anna (Frozen). I also kinda wanna note a couple ships I'm on the fence about for my other favies - those being Maltran x Ebony Maw (Marvel Cinematic Universe or Marvel Ultimate Alliance) and Lunarre x Arkham (Devil May Cry).
Character I find most attractive: Dezel. It is a scientific fact that guys with pointy teeth are just hotter.
Character I would marry: Maybe Dezel, maybe Sergei. I wouldn't want to take them from those I see as their wifeys, but at the same time, they are husband goals, both of them.
Character I would be best friends with: Catch me clinging to Maltran's train and she drags me along annoyedly as I yell "PLEEEEAAASE LET ME HANG OUT WITH YOU GUYS" and Lunarre is losing it laughing while Symonne rolls her eyes
a random thought: So I toyed around with basically every accessory I picked up, and I decided to put the sideburns on Rose because fuck gender roles. Well then I just got used to seeing her with facial hair in every cutscene where her 3D model was used, and now I headcanon that she does get it. Maybe nonclassical CAH intersex? Like, I don't necessarily see her as trans (but I support everyone who hc's her as such) but moreso "a cis woman, but I grow this stupid damn facial hair like a dude and I don't get why." And this is why you shouldn't let me play with customizable accessories on RPG characters because I can and will abuse my privilege to headcanon.
An unpopular opinion: That this is actually a very good game. Listen, I think I get it - the initial marketing promised something far different. And that's disappointing. But coming back to it several years after its release, after the release of its PREQUEL, when I never had that hype building up...it actually exceeded my expectations. I held off from it for a while because I thought Eizen's fate would make me too sad, but that didn't end up the case at all. I actually had just come off playing a more recently-released triple-A game that was hyped up for years, and I completed it to my satisfaction in 20 hours. $80 for 20 hours. Zestiria gave me my money's worth in comparison; it took me about 60, and I loved just how MUCH story it had to offer me. I honestly like Rose better than Alisha anyway (Rose was one of the biggest aspects that interested me about playing it in the first place). I've also seen complaints that the characters weren't well-developed enough? Which I just kinda take to mean "They didn't angst enough." Listen. There are PLENTY of games out there if you want angst and sad stories. I don't really like sad stories in my games. I like adventures where the party is a goofy foundfam that jokes around with each other and helps each other work through shitty situations, and that's EXACTLY what I got. (And Berseria really worked on me too because it kinda started at the bottom of the angst barrel, then worked its way up through "The edgy and tortured protag has gained a party of idiots and oh noooooo she's learning friendship and happiness.") Dezel's death is one of the few game deaths that just made me SATISFIED to watch instead of depressed because of the closure he got and the themes tied into his final moments and sacrifice. I loved going on this adventure, I loved the idiots who I went on it with, and I loved seeing what Glenwood had to offer me in world design the further I explored.
my canon OTP: There's not much for canon romance in this game, come to think of it. Just subtext and some flirting. So I'm blanking on if there actually were any canon couples at all.
Non-canon OTP: DezeRose! Which maybe can be considered almost-canon based on the amount of subtext, but still. It's adorable. (And it's the exact same dynamic as EiRoku except M/F and a thousand years later. I need these four to double date...the dual-wielding goofs with their edgy, grumpy Reapers...)
most badass character: Rose! Not only able to wield the Shepherd's Armatization powers, but also to be a dang good assassin on her own, able to hold her own against Heldalf before she even had her eyes opened to seraphim! Though a shout-out goes to Edna because her armatization was my favorite to play with. There's something just satisfying about bashing the enemy in front of you with a pair of GIANT FISTS
pairing I am not a fan of: RoseAli. To be honest, it was at one point something I kinda enjoyed as a third-tier ship for Rose (Dezel first, then Lailah in second). But then...Alisha's Story. I didn't actually purchase it, thank goodness, just watched it on YouTube, and it was the most grating addition that anyone could've made to this game. First of all, I can sum up the issues with Alisha's Story by reminding everyone that it canonized a secret entrance to Camlann that was much easier to get to and wasn't protected by Muse's sacrifice. But the real thing that hurt to watch was how far down they had to knock Rose and Alisha's friendship to get them to rebuild from scratch. Rose claiming she was never Alisha's friend because she's grieving Sorey? The two of them getting into a PHYSICAL FISTFIGHT over it? Nope nope nope. That's not my Rose. Even less my Rose is that whole scene where she...you know...pounces on Alisha to dress her in the silly noblewoman's dress, and it's framed like...let's just say it's really uncomfortable to watch if you don't know the punchline is just a silly outfit. Even though Alisha's Story isn't canon in my head, it still really killed any buzz I had for RoseAli. I will also say I'm not a big fan of Eizavie - first of all, EiRoku or bust in this house, and second, I have a little bit of a hard time seeing Zaveid as mlm due to how much he goes on and on about The Ladies(TM). (Though I could see Eizen as having a tiny crush on him, though. Just like "Oh no he's hot but he's connected to Aifread's disappearance help")
character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Mostly just in Alisha's Story. I was mad about the aforementioned Rose stuff, but also...like...they undid Lunarre's original cathartic death, they did so to team him back up with Symonne and then do a whole fakeout that they had Maltran with them too, but Maltran is just an illusion and immediately after this, Lunarre and Symonne just decide "Yeah, we're not gonna work together anymore, have a nice life." Why does Maltran need to stay dead if LUNARRE somehow survived EXPLODING? And just...look to next question for more clarification:
favourite friendship: I just want to imagine that Maltran, Lunarre, and Symonne were weird evil friends. The kind who'd take artistic selfies and caption them "Murder and mayhem with my besties!". Maybe they even had a sibling dynamic. They were all pretty dang jaded, so I like to think they sat around sometimes talking about the things in this world that did them wrong. The reasons they were drawn to Heldalf. Heldalf himself wouldn't have cared, he would've kicked them around like disposable tools, but the three of them were too entrenched in his dogma to see it. Maybe if they met up again after he was off the board...then they'd sing a different tune. Realize they're all three better than this, and now they're gonna do things THEIR way, because remember when they made a three-point attack on Glenwood and Sorey was barely able to keep up with them wrecking Lastonbell AND Pendrago AND Glaivend? Remember when Lunarre and Symonne had each other's backs the night Dezel died? Now they can do what they want on their terms! And I just - I have many MANY feelings about these three.
character I want to adopt or be adopted by: Okay silly self-insert time but the thing is, Archibald Snatcher (The Boxtrolls) and Roman Torchwick (RWBY) are my two favorite parental f/o's (and also my OTP to end all OTPs), and I have this thing about how they'd be PERFECT crime dads to Symonne in particular because she's like a little, more theatrical Neopolitan. So there's a universe in my head where Symonne is basically already my little sister, and I look out for her - well, okay, she's a seraph with powerful Artes and I am a powerless mortal so really she looks out for me because "I suppose SOMEONE has to make sure you don't die" and I am grateful to her for it.

Camp Camp REVIEW:
Hello there, everybody. My name is JoyofCrimeArt and the Summer season has just come to an end. It's that time or year where the heat starts to die down, as the brisk Autumn breeze comes blowing forth to refresh our minds and bodies, and to remind us that-wait hold on. Yeah, okay. So I just checked Google and it turns out that it's currently ninety degrees outside exactly. Sorry Autumn, better luck next month. Anyway, with Summer "technically" wrapping up I though now would be as good of a time as any to talk about Rooster Teeth Production's Summer themed adult animated series "Camp Camp."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4c6JUBauBg
(By the way, this intro is so frickin' catchy.)  For those who don't know "Camp Camp" is a online animated series that comes from Rooster Teeth Productions, the studio that brought us Red vs Blue, RWBY, and the Youtube Red original movie, Lazor Team. If I had to describe the show I would describe it as "Total Drama Island" crossed with "South Park." So what's the plot? Camp Camp centers around Max, a cynical ten year old who hates the entire world around him. He's the typical cynical, bitter type of character you see a lot in these "adult animated" shows. Max's goal in the series to escape from Camp Campbell, a crappy run down summer camp in the middle of nowhere, and make his way back to civilization. He also has help from his two friends, Neil and Nikki. Neil is a science nerd who is very quick to angry outburst. He and Max share the role as the straight man in most episodes. Then there's Nikki, a hyperactive wild child and self proclaimed "agent of chaos." Out of the main trio she's probably my favorite. She just has some much energy, and it's actual nice to see a character who is actually happy to be at the camp, even though she still tries to help Max and Neil escape.  There's also the two camp counselor, David and Gwen. David is an optimistic yet dim counselor who tries to make the three (mainly Max) see the joys of camping, without much success. He often will suffer torment form our main protagonist, sometimes indirectly but often directly. However despite the universes punching bag he's still manages to stay cartoonishly optimistic. I really like David, and he is one of my favorite, if not my favorite character in the show. His constant optimism is really funny but he's not a static character either. In a lot of these type of cartoons we get characters who are either always happy or almost always happy, and they end up being very one dimensional a lot of the time. David is different because while we see him being happy most of the time we see that he does have limits. We see that he gets stressed out by things and is trying his hardest to stay optimistic anyway. It's not like in Spongebob, where Spongebob is always happy because he unaware that things around him aren't perfect. David knows that things around him aren't perfect, but still tries to stay upbeat about it. It's a lot more relatable in that way, at least in my humble opinion. Gwen meanwhile, is the smarter and more snarky counselor who just tries to stay out of everything and just read her trashy magazine. Gwen will often act as the foil to David and it works really well comically. I also really like Gwen's voice actress, Lee Eddy. It's a great voice that really works for her deadpan deliveries, and as we later learn she also a great singer!  The show also has a large plethora of side characters. The show uses a clever strategy when it comes to introducing the side characters, usually giving each of the side characters one episode each to shine. Plus they break those episodes up with episodes that are just about Max, Neil and Nikki. This makes it a lot easier to manage all of the side characters, and the stereotypes that the side characters represent makes it very easier for the audience to immediately know what the characters are about. The show has a pretty large cast, so I'll try to hit most of the more notable side characters real quick here. There's Cameron Campbell, the camp's immoral founder who is on the run from the government. There's Space Kid, a kid who likes outer space and always has a glass dome around his head. There's Preston, the psychotic theater kid (Who is a really funny character by the way.) There's Nurf, the camp bully. There's Ered, the cool kid. There's Harrison, the magic kid. There's Nerris, the other magic kid. There's Dolph, who may or may not be a clone of Hitler. Y'know, all of the normal character archtypes. None of these character get to much development beyond there stereotypes, but there still enjoyable and funny in there own rights. Oh, also there's a platypus as the camp mascot, because when in doubt, add a platypus.
Tumblr media
(Muack!)  Now, as stated before, this show is not for kids. As we learned from "Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared" the more kid friendly something on the internet looks the more horrible and vulgar it probably is. But they do adult humor very cleverly, usually not going "too far." with the joke. There are a lot of adult cartoons out there that just try to be vulgar for vulgarities sake. Show's where every character is just an irredeemable jerk wad. Camp Camp, luckily, doesn't fall into this category. There's some vulgarity in it, but it never feels like they are trying to force it in where it doesn't belong. This shows humor is very clever and funny, and just happens to incorporates some adult themes sometimes. What I like about this show is how closely it does feel to a show that could air on television. The episodes are about the right length, and so is the theme song. Plus the animation in this series is beautiful by web series standards. It looks TV quality, on par with something like PBS Kid's "Wild Kratts" or something like that. Just like Don't Hug Me this makes the adult humor a lot funnier. Since it looks so much like a kid show it makes it more unexpected when they do something very adult and thus makes it more comedic. I admire Rooster Teeth so much for always putting so much effort into there animation, even though they only do web series. It's all done in flash but it's done well, so that all that really matters.  Similar to the point above about content being juxtaposed with the animation, this show also has an odd thing with it's music. In the show itself the music matches, but during each episodes end credits the music is always some kind of rap song, for whatever reason. It seems odd but thinking about it it really does works. I think it's because everything in this show has such a weird mishmash of elements that one more weird element doesn't really feel out of place. Plus it's sort of matches Max's anti-authority mentality, so in a way it actually match in a weird kind of way.  This show is also really fun to watch if you are already a fan of Rooster Teeth's other works. About half of the cast of Camp Camp are returning actors from RWBY. Max is Sun, Neil is Mercury, David is Jaune, Space Kid is Ruby, Ered is Pyrrha, Nikki is FRICKIN' WINTER OF ALL PEOPLE! It's greatly amusing to see the voice actors from the mostly child friendly RWBY saying such vulgarity. It's a nice extra level for RWBY fans. Same thing I would think would apply if you watch this and then watch RWBY, except backwards. Speaking of voice acting the show has a pretty all star cast for a web show. Big name anime and animation voice actor Yuri Lowenthal voices Neil, Travis Willingham is Cameron Campbell and they even got Dante Basco in one episode! It's really cool hearing all these big name actors voices in a web cartoon like this.  Now the show obviously isn't perfect. My biggest problem with the show is honestly, the main character. Neil and Nikki are cool characters but I honestly don't like Max very much. Now Max can be a funny character for sure, but he's not very likeable, at least to me. He's just a cynical A-hole. Which I know is the point and all, but still. I don't hate him or anything, but out of the main three characters he's probably my least favorite. It's just hard to care for a character who doesn't care about anything. Also I sort of don't like how David is the shows punching bag a lot of the time. David is an awesome character, but it's lame that we always see him suffer. Again, I know it's the point but it's still hard to watch. That being said the show does sort of make up for it in the final episode when we get the sorta "moral." of the series, and what the David/Max conflict was leading up to. I don't want to spoil the ending for anybody who hasn't seen the show, but the scene in the season finale with Max and David (If you seen the show you should know what scene I'm talking about.) Is so powerful. From the lack of music to the voice acting to the beautiful message of it all. I would just rewatch that scene over and over on Youtube because of how well done it was. So even the flaws of this show do have a point. It's just kinda a grind getting to that point, but overall I think it is worth it for the message the show is trying to teach. Also it looks like these flaws might be toned down in season two, but it's kinda two early to tell at this point. But that all might just be a personal preference kind of thing, and other people might not mind at all. Especially if you happen to be a fan of cynical or sadistic humor.  ...Y'know what I just realized. This show in a lot of ways in just a backwards "Camp Lazlo." Think about it, Camp Camp is about a cynical camper who tries to annoy an overly optimistic camp counselor and show him that life is a sad and pathetic place. Meanwhile Camp Lazlo is about an overly optimistic camper annoying a cynical scoutmaster, trying to show him that life is great and awesome place.

Random thing. Only recently, when rewatching some of the episodes in preparation for this review did I think to myself, "Why is Nikki's hair green?" Like, I had been watching this show every week for over three months, and I knew her hair was green but only then did I really question-wait a minute. Green hair. Self proclaimed agent of chaos. Oh my God....Nikki is the Joker! It makes so much sense! It was always there in front of us, we were all just to blind to see it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssnw2GA657s
Another random thing. Just one month before Camp Camp came out, another camp themed adult cartoon came out. Camp WWE. If you are unaware, Camp WWE is a show about the WWE superstars being children in a summer camp run by Ric Flair.  I've never seen the show, but I just found it an interesting thing to bring up. The show was created by Seth Green and more importantly IS AN ACTUAL THING THAT EXIST IN THE REAL WORLD FOR REAL! Anyway, I'm not saying that Camp Camp ripped off Camp WWE, as both would have been in production for long enough that they couldn't copy each other. But it's quiet a coincidence. Or is it a coincidence? Hmmmm. Coincidence?....I think NO-  In conclusion, Camp Camp is a funny, well written, Amazingly animated web series that I think you all should consider checking out. While not perfect in any way I had a ton of fun watching through the series and all the episodes are easily available on Youtube. So Campe Diem! Have you seen the series? If so what did you think of it? What's you're favorite episode? (Mine is episode 12! Ugh, it's so good!) Tell me what you think about the show in the comments down bellow and I would really appreciate it. I love hearing what other people think about cartoons, and starting a discussion. Any suggestions for things I should review. Suggest them down bellow and maybe I'll do em if I find them interesting enough. Please fav, follow and comment if you liked the review and want to see more and have a great day!

Rant from an ex-fan: RWBY’s Volume 5 shorts are terrible
Quick warning: if you are a huge fan of RWBY, especially of the third volume onwards, I am going to be needlessly cruel towards the series in this post. Turn back if you don't wish to hear the ramblings of a jaded ex-fan.
So I used to love RWBY, or more specifically the first two volumes of RWBY. They were far from perfect, but I enjoyed what fun action and neat fantasy and tech ideas they had to offer.
Then Volume 3 came about, in its glut of sudden edginess and shocking twists, and I came down with a case of salt poisoning.
As you can imagine, I dropped the series harder than a slab of concrete and have been very hesitant to pick up the series again since. Then I saw in my YouTube Feed that Volume 5 of RWBY was coming out, and there were character shorts and teasers, one of which was of Weiss, being released as promotions. So I thought, "Fine, why not? I might as well see if they win me over once more."
I was not won over.
Problems that I had with the series when I dropped it were somehow encapsulated in 3.5 painfully long minutes, and after some mental testing out of my hair, I decided to do the following moment-by-moment analysis of the trailer below as follows.
Please keep in mind I have sworn entirely off Volume 4 and any details I do know about it are from my friend @randomnumbers751650 who HAS watched it. Nothing first-hand.
0:00 We begin with some abstract shots of totally-not-symbolism set to yet another generically sad Casey Williams song.
Okay look, I don’t want to hate on Casey Williams. She’s an amazing singer at the age she is, and she’s got great talent! I don’t hate her work at all. The problem is she’s in EVERYTHING RWBY RELATED. No, literally, everything. RoosterTeeth has shoved her into every single vocal song for the series and I’m getting tired of it. There’s no variety in any of the vocals unless they get Jeff Williams to do some screaming or Lamar Hall to do some okay-rapping in them. Even they seem to sound overused.
Not to mention sometimes I feel like they’re forcing Casey’s vocal chords to sing certain songs that really do not lend well to her vocals (*cough* When it Falls *cough). She’s a beautiful singer, but when you just churn out song after song with her, the songs lose their magic. I don’t even wanna get started on these lyrics, but let’s rant one thing at a time, shall we?
0:12 Hey look, the moon is still broken. We ever gonna find out what that means?
Now one compliment I guess I’ll give is that the art has definitely improved. The characters still move jankily (albeit more smoothly now), but the background art has really upgraded. The shot of the manor Weiss is fighting in, the ice fountain with the Schnee logo and the snowing effects in this are actually kinda pretty!
0:25 And now we meet best girl Weiss! Well, she originally wasn’t my best girl. It was first Ruby, but unfortunately she had no personality (despite being the main character). Then there was Penny, but she was.
You know.
Dead.
Thanks RoosterTeeth, I’m still not over that. You introduced a precious cinnamon roll and killed her off for shock value. And fan theories about her being rebuilt have not been acted on.
Uh-huh. Sure. I’m totally okay with that. Not bitter at all.
Anyway, just look at those expressions. Mouth movement still looks as awkward as ever. I think enough people have probably mocked the expressions in the Volume 4 opening so I won’t harp on it, but…yeeeeah.
0:36 Oh hey look ominous snow wind out of nowhere. That sure is whacky and wacky.
And listen closely to the lyrics of this super-duper-sad song.
“And in its place is nothing, just an endless empty hall.”
GEDDIT? BECAUSE WEISS IS LONELY! SHE’S SAD AND LONELY CUZ SHE’S GOT NO FRIENDS! WE’RE SO SUBTLE AND SYMBOLIC GUYS!
Jeff Williams, or…whoever did the lyrics for these songs, the instrumental is lovely on its own. You could’ve just let the emotions speak for themselves. You don’t have to HAMMER IN THE MESSAGE THAT WEISS IS OBVIOUSLY STILL SAD AND LONELY. I THOUGHT WE GOT THREE ENTIRE SONGS FOR THAT ALREADY. Or was Mirror Mirror just not subtle enough? >_>
0:45 Oh look. Ice Beowulves. How interesting and original.
And don’t tell me they’re a different species of Grimm or whatever, those models are clearly palette-swapped Beowulves! It’s like they’ve become the Goombas of Remnant or something.
You know last I checked, one of the bigger reasons people liked this show at all was because of the fantasy setting and how not just the heroes and their weapons, but the creatures of Grimm had all sorts of creative designs. I get that this is just a teaser trailer and the fight here doesn't have any actual plot bearing, but one on, you could've at least come up with something more interesting for an ice-based Grimm. Even better, give hints of new Grimm to be introduced later in the volume or something, I dunno! Just anything more than a freaking palette swap.
0:59 ...did...did Casey just say 'Weissolation?' I hope she didn't; that's a level of goofy I think not even RT would stoop to.
Also, still piling on that reaaaally subtle lyric-work about how lonely Weiss is! Ugh.
1:01 I dunno why but that shot of the Beowulf pouncing at her just looks so goofy. “COME AND GIVE ME A HUUUUUG!”
1:12 ...okay, I admit, the change in tempo and shift in instruments for this song and the ensuing fight made me excited.
If there's one thing Jeff Williams has always done well, it's his instrumental. I complain a lot about RWBY's vocals, but the way the songs mix hard rock and more classical music has always been amazing. It's the perfect blend of instruments to get you pumped up for a fight while still getting into the different moods and settings each fight takes place in. Even better is that they don't have to constantly rely on awkward dubstep or techno beats like most other shows nowadays do with their action scenes. All things considered, if you just changed the lyrics, I would totally replay this song in my free time.
Even this initial start of the fight isn't bad at all. The violins and Casey's vocals really match up to the angles, Weiss jumping on the glyphs, shots like the pan up to when she's standing on the ledge, and oh man, those melting icicles. That was such a neat touch!
1:31 That is an adorable Weiss happy face. Can we get more of that? Please? And not all the random depressing edgy plot points?
1:40 "Forced to conform" YES WE GET IT WEISS FEELS TRAPPED, MOVE ON CASEY
You remember how the original Mirror Mirror's lyrics were about Weiss' self-doubt and fear of what's inside her? Only 2012 remembers.
1:45 Once again, more of those awkward expressions. Her face is literally OAO in this moment. A second shot of it is passable. You hold it for longer than that though, not to mention in a close-up shot, and it just looks goofy.
This, however, is probably a good time to get to one of my major complaints of this trailer. Namely that this trailer could have been stuff like foreshadowing of plot points, a quick character insight into how Weiss has been doing since the end of the last Volume, a whole number of things. But instead, what do we get?
Fighting.
Just. Fighting.
Look I get it, RWBY is an action series, fighting is kind of what it's selling. But if you would humour me, let me take you back to 2012, when RWBY just became a thing and people were fawning over the awesome trailers. Let me remind you guys that the first two trailers shown, Ruby's and Weiss', were both consisting of nothing but -you guessed it- fighting. We didn't hear their voice actors at all, we didn't get a glimpse as to what their characters like beyond their small facial expressions and song lyrics (you know, like the incredibly deep revelation that WEISS IS LONELY), or their place in the plot.
As much as I loved the fighting choreography in those old trailers, when the show was finally released, the characters suffered for it. People were wondering why Ruby was a squeaky high-pitched now girl when she looked so stoic and badass in the trailer. People were wondering why Weiss was so snooty and insufferable when once again, the trailer painted a different picture of her. My point is the original trailers for RWBY tried pushing for its awesome action scenes at the expense of the writing of its characters.
And now it's happening again.
Let me be blunt: when I first saw this Weiss short, and after the initial few cool shots of fighting, my brained tuned out and I IMMEDIATELY skipped the whole fight scene. I knew what to expect – another flashy action scene that has no bearing on the plot or Weiss as a character or what's to come.
You know guys, most of us who are anime fans safely say that most of us who enjoy action scenes and stuff like shonen anime is NOT just because of random fighting. I need to care about what I'm watching. I need to know the fight I'm seeing matters. And failing THAT, I at least want to see something new; new fighting techniques, new ways of attacking and reversing your opponent's moves onto them, rather than just the same old.
I remember when I used to enjoy the fight scenes in RWBY. It was cool seeing the fighting techniques, the crazy weapons and having some vague idea of how Dust worked. It was all fine and dandy back then. But RWBY hasn't evolved since. As much as I like Weiss, her simple sword tactics have always struck me as rather plain compared to the rest of the team. Clearly, she's designed less as a combatant focusing on power and more as the 'Mage', what with her glyphs (which we still haven't gotten an explanation of how her Semblance works btw) and her Dust usage. I could've gone for something simple like Weiss combining Dust in her attacks or something like that.
But no.
RoosterTeeth is just doing the same old action sequences over and over again. It's to the point where the fight scenes are just white noise! Congrats, RoosterTeeth. You guys made me think of an action scene as WHITE NOISE.
Mind you, I actually went to rewatch the trailer to try to see what I missed in the fight scene just to be fair, but even then I tuned out again. Nevermind the actual choreography or some weird wide-angle shots, everything just felt so generic. I honestly can't muster up any energy to even critique the fight.
So enough of my whining I guess, let's just get back to the trailer shall we...
2:48 And somehow despite Weiss being best girl, she still continues to have the weakest of the voice actresses. The way she screams Winter's name sounds more like annoyance rather than the actual fear she might have been feeling.
Also WAIT WHAT?! THOSE WOLVES WERE WINTER'S CREATION?!
...so not satisfied with giving us a dull action scene, this trailer decides to pull the rug out under us and render our investment into Weiss surviving this fight pointless. Fantastic.
3:04 Oh hey, Winter! One of the few parts of Volume 3 I actually liked!
Great to see you and your Icy Cool Big Sis self again! Boy, it sure was a good thing you...weren't important in the last Volume...or the second half of Volume 3...oh man was your great character totally utilized and not squandered in the face of the changing plot or anything...
3:15 More stilted Weiss voice acting. The way she says "I'll get better" is just so oddly rushed and lifeless.
3:26 And so we end this trailer with a reprise of Mirror Mirror, showing how even after 4 whole Volumes, Weiss has not grown as a character despite her trials with her barely-visible team, and she's still left alone with the insecurities and loneliness plaguing her, sending her back to square one!
Yay. RWBY is such a well-written satisfying show.
3:36 But ZOMG! This whole trailer was a flashback! And Weiss is still sad remembering old sad times!
...
BULL.
What was even the point of having that entire fight be a flashback? Narrative-wise, it's a slap in the face to the hope of Weiss growing as a character. Didn't she spend the last part of Volume 4 singing an entire song about how she's going to forge her own path and break away from her family? But her face when she remembers this memory of her old self and replaying Mirror Mirror in the background seems to imply this isn't the case. That she's still stuck in the same mental chains she's been in since the show started. If there's no promise of her truly overcoming herself, why would this flashback have any meaningful bearing on her arc?
Technicality-wise, this only confuses the viewer and short-changes the animators. Believe it or not, I was actually confused as to if Weiss in the trailer was from present time; thought maybe she just put on her old clothes again or something. But it's not; we are just seeing her old self fighting some of Winter's illusions. If we aren't seeing any cool new stuff about Weiss, what is the point of making this a teaser for Volume 5?
So with all that said and done, RWBY has once more proved that it’s just going to be nothing more but a swirling pot of wasted potential and eye candy with some irresponsible writers mixing it all into one big mess, and it’s only going to get more incomprehensible from here on out.
Wonderful.
Let me clarify one last thing: I did NOT drop RWBY in Volume 3 because it was ‘too dark and depressing’. I like a good serious story myself. The purpose of this rant is to show you all my real problem with RWBY: it does not handle its writing with any care whatsoever, or the responsibility to deliver a satisfying product to its audience. Volume 3’s out of nowhere shift, as much as it angers me, I feel is symptomatic of every other writing problem in this series.
It’s lazy. It’s half-baked. It’s popcorn entertainment in the end, sure, but even popcorn needs to be cooked well. I want the tastiest popcorn ever, not some cold barely-microwaved corn kernels left out in the open!
Ugh, if you guys will excuse me, I’m gonna go write my own action-packed fantasy story. With blackjack and hookers.

San Diego Comic Con isn’t what immediately comes to mind when you think of high end couture. But Her Universe has created a place where designers can make their geek fashion dreams come true! The Her Universe Fashion Show celebrated it’s 5th year at San Diego Comic Con and brought together 24 incredible designs by 24 incredibly talented designers. That is where we saw Carina Langley-Lacy walking down the runway in her Doctor Who inspired gown called “Vincent & The Doctor”. We caught up with Carina to learn a little bit more about her and to talk geek, fashion and fandom!
Tell us a little about you and how you got started designing clothes?
When I was little I read the little house on the Prairie and fell in love with the idea of making clothing and gifts for myself and begged for my family to teach me how to sew. My Grandfather is the one who taught me how to sew, he and I have the same way of thinking we love to pull things apart to figure out how they are made. He and I would create little paper models so we could figure out the best way to build the design I had created. I began by making miniature clothes for my favorite stuffed animals, which then progressed into making my own clothes, my prom dress and costumes for my Theater in high school. It wasn’t until I went to school at FIDM for Fashion and Costume design that I learned how to make a real pattern and really began to hone my craft.
What is Claviole Couturiere?
Claviole Couturiere is my personal brand. The logo is comprised of flowers using the Victorian flower language. Cardinals for Distinction and Pride, Sunflowers for Gratitude and Appreciation, Marigolds for Creativity, Lupine for Imagination and Trumpet flowers for Success. I have created Claviole Couturiere to show off my work and to invite people to be inspired to create. I was inspired to create my own brand to follow my dream of changing the Image of Beauty the Media has created. I believe all bodies are beautiful no matter what shape or size and the only thing that matters is being happy in the body we have. I have designed and built costumes and clothes for people who vary in shapes and sizes.
How many times have you participated in the Her Universe Fashion Show?
This is my second year participating in the Her Universe Fashion Show. 2016 was my first year being a part of the show with my design inspired by the TV show RWBY that was created by Rooster Teeth on YouTube. I was unable to submit or participate in 2017 because I was a little busy planning my dream wedding, which only made me more excited to participate this year for the 2018 show. The design I created this year, “Vincent and the Exploding TARDIS” Dress, is one that I have been thinking about and designing in my head since the weekend after my first fashion show in 2016!
How did you get involved with the Her Universe Fashion Show?
Back when I was interning at J&M costumers, I had a friend who had been chosen to be a designer for the 2015 show. It was the first time I had heard of it, but at that moment I knew I needed to be a part of this amazing experience! I started designing a year in advance so I had time to perfect my designs. After that first year I fell in love with the show. It is an amazing venue to make lasting friendships, chase our dreams, show the world our passion and fandoms and build a welcoming community centered around geek fashion.
“Yang Xiao Long, From Ballroom to Battle”
Can you tell us the story behind the pieces you designed for the Her Universe Fashion Show?
For the 2016 Fashion show I designed “Yang Xiao Long, From Ballroom to Battle” which was inspired by Yang in the show RWBY. Her semblance (or magic power) is to get stronger each time she is struck. She then uses that strength to fight back and win. It inspired me to be strong and to always get back up and fight for what I love. The dress design included layers of organza draped to create a full skirt and a suede corset with leather strapping.
For the 2018 Fashion show I designed “Vincent and the Exploding TARDIS” which was the fruit of 2 years of tweaking and designing. Every part of this dress can be traced back to Doctor Who. The shoes were TARDIS blue with red bow ties because, as the 11th Doctor says, “Bow ties are cool!” The dress was hand painted in the impressionist style inspired by the episode “Vincent and the Doctor”. The godets are painted to look like the Sunflowers Amy gave to Vincent. To really make these flowers come to life, I made flower petals and hand shaped them using a millinery flower making tool, and hand beaded the centers using sead beads along with 3 different light reflecting beads. The bottom of the dress is painted to look like Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” and the middle of the skirt is inspired by the painting Van Gogh makes in the show to Warn the Doctor of the “Exploding Tardis”. Under the Bust is the “Crack in the Wall” that is caused by the TARDIS exploding. The bodice is jagged pieces of the broken TARDIS that stand away from the body. Throughout the skirt are lights that mimic the stars in the sky, and the crack in the wall also lights up. I also included pockets in my design because you always need a place to keep your sonic screw driver! I loved creating this dress, there were so many techniques I had to use to accomplish the design I had envisioned and I am so proud of how it turned out!
Carina and Jodie Whittaker (13th Doctor)
What has the reaction to your designs been like?
This year so many people have expressed their love of my dress! I am so happy to have been able to share my love of Doctor who and my passion for creating with so many people. It is a humbling experience to be surrounded by so many talented people in the show and have fellow fans come up after the show asking for pictures and telling me how much they loved my dress and that I inspired them. It has been overwhelming but very heartwarming! The best reaction has to be when I got to meet the 13th Doctor backstage. They called me over saying Jodie had asked to see me, after I excitedly ran over to meet her she took one look at my dress and said “Well youre Bloody Brilliant aren’t you?!” it was so much fun geeking out together about my dress and our sonic screwdrivers!
How long does it take you to prepare for an event like this? What is the process like for you?
We find out we are in the show at the end of April, so we have roughly 2 and a half months to build everything. I like to start immediately with draping and mock ups in the first few weeks, test dyeing or painting. Then it takes time finding the perfect fabrics and supplies, which is one of my favorite parts because I love doing research and shopping for fabric! Next its construction which takes the longest because you have to take your time and plan everything out to the minute details. There are a lot of test samples that are a part of this step but it is the most fulfilling, as you can see your design taking shape and becoming the image you have in your mind. I love the whole process. Even if you have to problem solve when things don’t work how you expected, or sometimes you wonder what you got yourself into, it is all worth it because in the end you have something beautiful that you poured hours of time and energy and love into.
What are some of your favorite Her Universe Fashion Show memories?
Some of my favorite memories of being in this show happened in the months leading up to the show, or backstage. We have a Facebook group where we can all get to know each other and ask for advice and connect. Sometimes we will get together for a designer meet up to meet in person before the show and really get to know each other. We become a family, close knit and helpful. While it is a competition, you still will find people helping each other backstage. Whether it’s sitting down and helping someone who is still sewing if you have the time, or coming together to fix something that breaks last minute, you will find the designers supporting each other as much as possible to ensure that everyone does their best on that runway. We all want to win, but if it’s your friend who wins you are just as happy and proud and it is a wonderful feeling.
What can we expect from you in the future? What are your hopes for your brand?
I plan to keep designing and creating, whether that be costumes, clothes, accessories, etc. My husband loves to joke that I don’t know how to relax…and he may be right. I always have at least 1 project in progress if not more. In fact, I have already started designing new ideas for my next Her Universe Fashion Show submission as well as ideas for some larger projects that I hope to start in the next month or so. You will definitely see more costumes from me in forums like Her Universe Fashion Show as well as at LA Opera where I work making all the costumes come to life for each production. I hope to grow my brand, by adding new designs all the time and branching out to make more garments for people all over who love my designs. Most of all, through all of my projects and my brand, I know I will meet many more talented and amazing people that share my love of all things fashion-geek or otherwise-and shape the future of the fashion world one design.
Just for fun, we know you are a huge Doctor Who fan, who is your favorite Doctor and why?
Oh man, this is a difficult question. I love different things about each of the Doctors but I would have to say my favorite it is Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. I love that he is an angry Scot, but determined and strong. He tells it like it is, but will still do whatever he can to save the people he loves and the people who need help. Matt Smith’s Doctor will always have a special place in my heart though, with one of my favorite lessons from “Vincent and the Doctor” that you can’t always change the future, but you can add to someone’s pile of good things, by being kind and showing support. This is how I live my life, by being kind.
Who is your favorite companion and why?
Another hard question! I think I have to say Amy Pond. She is stubborn, determined, strong and yet still a child at heart. She believes in her imaginary friend no matter what anyone else says. And steadfastly believes in the Doctor’s goodness and that he will always win and she refuses to give up hope even when things look bleak. My favorite side of Amy though, is that while she trusts the Doctor to save the day, she isn’t afraid to charge into the fray herself and fight for the happy ending. Even when she is left alone for decades she doesn’t despair, she gets stronger and saves herself.
What are your favorite fandoms for fashion?
My favorite fandoms include all things Studio Ghibli, Doctor Who, Sailor Moon, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, and Marvel. I believe all fandom can relate to fashion if you have a vivid enough imagination and are determined enough.

Pipe Drop: Rooster Teeth
Ordinarily I’d keep this blog thing as intended; a place for my rants about shitty games. But if something especially manages to piss me off, I’ll borrow an old wrestling phrase and “Pipe Drop” about it in these special posts. No holds barred smackdowns on the sleaziest of sleazy fuckers. >:D
Originally this was going to be a youtube comment but I realised 1) I’d be very likely banned from commenting on their channels and get even more angry teenagers shouting at me and 2) It was getting a bit too long for posting as a mere comment. I’ll post what I was originally going to put out there first in uneditted form and then follow up on it a bit. (A lot >>)
~~All I'm saying is that it's "real fans" like Synchro and a lot of you that are the *cause* of the awful quality videos the last few weeks like this one, and the reason RT's able to get away with bullshit like making A Million Dollars But and RWBY Chibi season 2 unavailable for unpaying plebs for a full week instead of just a day, to drum up sponsor sales. It's because of you guys who are super fine with anything they do, and hound and shame others who (sensibly) don't feel the same way. -I'm watching you AH reddit you echo chamber, no-context name shaming, sausage jockeys.- Give it a few more months and we'll see it spread unless people speak up about it. I'm predicting it'll happen to D&D season 3 pretty much for sure, and Twelve Little Roosters if they do it. (Please don't. 11 roosters was a massive step down.) And I don't see why they wouldn't try to get away with it for a new season of Immersion or maybe even Off Topic, rawr. The only seasonal show that's probably safe is RedvsBlue itself and that's only because they tried this before like a year or so ago and the fans went rightfully bonkers about it. By the way, if you're wondering why I'm dropping a pipe bomb like this here instead of somewhere where people are more likely to see it, it's because you know damn well that even if I worded it less antagonistically, this'd be deleted or at least downvoted into utter, total oblivion on their reddit or website. ¬_¬  Praising them for good content is fine; praising them for drek like this and forcing people to wait six days longer than they used to have to to see new seasonal content, is not. That's what leads to complacency and them seeing you guys as numbers instead of fans and people. Plus, if they can get away with a week, why not two weeks? Why not three? It's a slippery slope that dips steeper the further you go.~~
So, Rooster Teeth (And Achievement Hunter). I’m hesitant to really go into a full on rant about these guys because when their content is good, it’s REALLY good. But when it’s bad holy SHIT is it bad. And it’s been fucking -ABYSMAL- lately, especially on the AH/Lets Play channel. And the biggest issue about this by far is the fact that their fans are so die hard and completely mindwiped into believing everything they churn out is purified platinum, that if you dare speak against it they will go -MENTAL- at you. At the very least, downvoting you into oblivion or even attempting to report your post/comment!
Let’s start with the biggest immediate problem; an incredibly noticeable large drop in video quality over the last few months. The root cause? Lets Play Live (I’ll get into that shitpile in a second pipe drop of it’s own) and filming of the Laser Team 2 movie. Immediate issue #1: No-one prepared for this. At all. Geoff was on his “Sabbatical” which I am convinced is code for “I’m going to pretend to be gone for a few days but no-one will really notice because I’ll still be in most videos anyway so I don’t know.” LT2 took Michael and Gavin for a few weeks for filming, and LPL took everyone else remaining for touring.
Here’s the thing: When they filmed LT1 before, they used their brains and instead of having weeks with no Michael or Gavin in videos and upsetting fans/having less people to work with for so long, they did the sensible thing and pre-recorded and stockpiled a bunch of videos to release during the drought as it were. As such, there were very few complaints (Apart from the fucking LT1 advert being at the start of EVERY VIDEO for like three months ¬_¬) and things didn’t change that much. Let’s fast forward to a time about a week ago.
No-one had planned ANYTHING. That much was immediately clear, when a huge majority of videos were Jeremy, Trevor, Lindsay, Matt and Ryan or Jack to lesser degrees. Moreover, these videos were themselves blatently unplanned and just cobbled together on the spot because most of the games they played/recordings they put out were flat out BAD. Shitty random Nintendo party/gimmick games that were clearly done in a “Let’s just do this and see what happens” mindset rather than thinking about them at all and realising that it’s going to be incredibly boring and sub-par content to watch.
This is disgusting for several reasons. Firstly it shows how fucking complacent and lazy AH/RT have become that they’re able to shamelessly put out shitty content that had no planning or foresight, as well as their clear disregard/contempt for their fans because they KNOW the majority of them are idiots hardcore fanboys (Yes it’s a derogatory term when I use it) and would happily eat any old shit up they put out there. If you need proof, just go look at all the upvotes most of those videos got.
Secondly, it’s a disgusting show of throwing their B-team members under the bus. These videos and games are so haphazard that even the main team wouldn’t have been able to pull them off, so they essentially said “Fuck it” and let the B-team doing it, knowing full well that it’d give the people who unfairly despise them even MORE reason to despise them. It’ll also have the benefit of making people even happier when the main guys come back again. A very cynical, dirty ploy, but unfortunately very effective.
I’ll edit more on this later, I have stuffs to do right now. ¬_¬
